  • Men\’s Owen Hart Cup Finals Confirmed On Dynamite

The second Owen Hart Cup final is now set.

The April 30 episode of Dynamite featured the second semifinals of the ongoing tournament on the men\’s side, with Hangman Adam Page and Kyle Fletcher going at it in the main event of the show.

The ending of this match saw Fletcher getting a couple of near-falls. Hangman Page then got the upper hand, delivering a moonsault on the outside. Page got Fletcher back into the ring and got ready for the Buckshot Lariat.

Fletcher, however, shoved the referee at the last second and countered Hangman with a kick between the legs. Kyle went for the pin after a brainbuster, but Page somehow still kicked out.

Kyle Fletcher then got the former AEW Champion up on the turnbuckle, aiming for another brainbuster, but Page shoved him down and delivered a Lariat from the top of the corner. Adam Page managed to deliver the Buckshot Lariat from his usual spot at the apron and finally got the pin.

Will Ospreay already made his way into the finals of the tournament by defeating Konosuke Takeshita at the April 16 episode of Dynamite.

Jamie Hayter meanwhile earned the spot in the finals on the women\’s side last week. She is now set to face Mercedes Mone with both the finals set for Double or Nothing on May 25.

  • These Are The Good Guys: Bryan Danielson Reveals AEW Moment That Made Him Leave WWE

Bryan Danielson has revealed the AEW moment that made him want to leave WWE and join the promotion owned by Tony Khan.

The wrestling veteran spoke to Talk Sport for a new interview. He opened up about the perceived war between the two American wrestling promotions, claiming that AEW does not approach other companies in a warlike fashion.

The former AEW World Champion said that he doesn\’t feel like they are at war with anyone but he noted how this feeling is not mutual. Bryan Danielson explained that since WWE always perceives the competition between the companies as a real war, he finds that AEW is constantly in the defense:

\”I don\’t know the right strategy, but I like the way Tony Khan handles things because that it in my mind, it makes us the good guys. But I don\’t know if at some point we need to go more on the offensive. I\’ve had friends bring that up to me like, ‘Oh, you guys should attack.’ I\’m like, wait a second.

Like one, that\’s not my personality. Two, that\’s not Tony Khan\’s personality. And I think that\’s one of the things that drew me to AEW.\”

It Touched Something In Me: Bryan Danielson

Bryan Danielson noted that sharing this mindset with Tony Khan is what first attracted him towards his promotion. He then revealed the one moment that finally convinced him that AEW was the place to be:

\”We had a wrestler, Brodie Lee, who had passed away. They did this incredible tribute show. At that point, I was still with WWE. And the way that they did that show — Brodie was my friend — it touched something in me and in my mind. I was thinking like, ‘Oh, these are the good guys of professional wrestling.’\”

The former WWE star mentioned that anyone can make mistakes or take bad decisions. As a company however, AEW tries to be good without ever trying to market themselves as the same.

Apart from this, Bryan Danielson also talked about his in ring status after retiring from full time wrestling last year. The 43-year-old noted how he had been in a lot of pain towards the end of his full time run in AEW. On the topic of retirement, Bryan explained that he doesn\’t want to put the word out there but claimed that he feels very comfortable where he is right now.

  • Adam Copeland Reveals Tentative Retirement Age

Adam Coepland believes he will retire after his current contract ends.

The wrestling veteran has been part of some memorable storylines since returning to in ring action in 2020. He\’s also dealt with some serious injuries however. With all damage he\’s done to his body over the years now catching up, the WWE Hall of Famer knows that he doesn\’t have a lot of time left in the squared circle.

The former World Champion was asked how long he sees himself continuing wrestling during an interview with First Up with Korolnek & Colaiacovo. Replying to it, Cope said that he doesn\’t plan to be active much longer:

\”I mean, not much longer. The schedules are far better now than they it used to be. If you asked me to try and pull off over 200 days a year that I pulled before, there is absolutely no way because the recovery just takes too long now. I\’ll have a match and it\’ll take me a good week to finally start walking normal.\”

Get Out While I Can: Adam Copeland

The AEW star discussed how he feels pretty beat up when he wakes up in the morning and it takes a while for him to start feeling normal. Per Adam Copeland, he\’s likely to retire when his current contract ends:

\”I\’ve realized now, I\’m 51 years old, I figure I got till maybe 53, the end of this contract, and then it\’s probably time to call it a day and get out while I can still limp away [laughs]. Then lick my wounds and do a whole lot of yoga after,\”

The former WWE star will be turning 53 in October 2026. Earlier this year he discussed who would be his ideal opponent for a retirement match. You can check out his remarks on the matter here.

  • Another Top WWE Star Poised For Big Movie Role (Report)

Another WWE star may soon be taking time off for a movie role.

One half of the current women\’s tag team champions Liv Morgan told General Manager Nick Aldis on Raw this week that she needed time off from WWE programming to film \’a big Hollywood movie.\’

Insiders have hyped up the yet unknown movie project saying that that it\’s something significant that will turn people\’s heads when revealed. While not a superhero film, the project is said to be backed by a prestigious studio involving some high-profile acting names.

Now a new report from PWinsider has provided a similar update about Drew McIntyre, saying that the Scottish Warrior is also \’lined up for a major film role.\’

“For months, we’ve heard that McIntyre — also repped by Paradigm and recently announced as the new face of Project Rock — is lined up for a major film role. He may very well be the next WWE talent to break into large-scale film or television work.”

WWE talent crossing over to the acting world is not a new phenomenon as wrestlers have long history of appearing on movies and TV shows, though very few have made a full transition successfully.

There have been an increase in wrestling talents exploring their potential outside the industry recently as the raise of AEW has forced WWE to also allow talents the freedom to take the required time off.

CM Punk explained recently how his other relationships are baked into his WWE contract now which allow him to take time off when needed, unlike before.

No solid details are available on either Drew McIntyre or Liv Morgan\’s movies at the time so it\’s hard to say how long they might stay out of action once the projects start filming

  • Dakota Kai Provides Puzzling Health Update Amid WWE Absence

Dakota Kai has provided an update on her WWE status.

The former tag champ has not wrestled for the company for over a month. Her last match came at the March 24 Main Event tapings where Kai defeated Ivy Nile in a singles match.

The WWE star got people talking about her status on Monday when Dakota made a tweet claiming that she misses wrestling. When people started speculating about her health, Dakota Kai confirmed that she is not injured in any way, making fans question her absence:

    https://twitter.com/ImKingKota/status/1917321650099442142

The former Damage CTRL member is not the only name missing from WWE programming without an explanation. Names such as Alexa Bliss and Omos have also been off TV for some time for no apparent reason.

Bliss who only returned to action earlier this year after a 2-year hiatus, is reported to be set for a return soon alongside the Wyatt Sicks.

The fate of Omos however, remains a mystery. The Nigerian Giant was abruptly called back from his successful Japan trip before Royal Rumble, but he has not appeared on any WWE shows since then.

All this comes at a time when WWE President Nick Khan claimed that their company does not bench talent, raising questions about the validity of his statement.

  • Internal Reaction And More Backstage News On SmackDown TLC Main Event

The incredible TLC main event at this past Friday\’s SmackDown after WrestleMania 41 from Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas was received as well as you\’d expect.

The WWE management under Triple H has tried to pull back on the number of matches on each PPV in favor of increasing the quality of bouts. Talents have felt the adverse effect of this approach as well, however, as many stories and matches that deserve a spot at the PLEs have been relegated to the weekly programming.

The TLC match featuring DIY, Motor City Machine Guns, and Street Profits on Friday was big example of it. The match was highly praised by the fans and many questioned why it wasn\’t featured on the Show of Shows.

Fightful Select provided an unsurprising update on this match. They noted that the bout got incredible reviews internally as well with many knowing that the trio being left off Mania card would become a big talking point.

The stipulation match, produced by Jamie Noble and Kenny Dykstra featured many high-risk spots, but everyone involved emerged from the match \’relatively healthy\’ per the report.

The ending of the TLC match saw Chris Sabin and Johnny Gargano fighting at the top of the ladder before the latter was thrown out. Montez Ford jumped in at the last second and retained the championship for his team after taking Sabin out.

  • Backstage News On Plans For New Seth Rollins Stable

Paul Heyman surprised everyone when he betrayed not only CM Punk but Roman Reigns as well to join hands with Seth Rollins in the main event of WrestleMania 41.

This new alliance gained another member on the following episode of Raw when Bron Breakker took out CM Punk and Roman Reigns to became part of the group.

The creative team under Triple H has had a larger focus on factions than the previous management. So the group instantly drew comparison to past stables such as Evolution with many fans speculating who could be the next member to join this dangerous alliance.

In a new update, however, Fightful Select notes that the comparisons are not something that is intended by the management. The higher-ups wish for this team to become its own thing, instead of reminding people of other groups from history.

Furthermore, the site reports that as of WrestleMania weekend, Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Paul Heyman were the only names planned for this group.

WWE had teased Roman Reigns making an unlikely alliance with arch rival CM Punk to tackle this challenge after the two stars were taken out by Rollins & Company on Raw after Mania.

Though they also started a feud with Sami Zayn on this week\’s Raw so we\’ll have to see how these two stories progress and if they overlap in coming times.

  • Buddy Matthews On Managing Rhea Ripley Relationship Despite Opposite Schedule

Buddy Matthews feels lucky to have Rhea Ripley as his wife.

Managing relationships within the wrestling communities has always been a hard task for talents. Even though the schedule nowadays is much more relaxed than it was back in the day, being signed to different companies with opposite schedule can still make things tricky.

The relationship of Matthews and Ripley is a prime example of it. The wrestling stars signed to AEW and WWE respectively, have different work schedules, which leaves them with limited free time to be with each other. During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Buddy opened up about managing their relationship, admitting that it can be a pain sometimes:

“Sometimes it becomes a bit of a pain in the ass. But we just kind of lock in that well, she’s definitely on a Monday, whether she’s on live events or not, depends. But then if I’m on a Wednesday or a Saturday, then we get a couple of days in there. But we learn to work it out.”

I Don\’t Need Approval: Buddy Matthews

After breaking up with Alexa Bliss in 2018, Buddy Matthews, known as Buddy Murphy in WWE began his relationship with Rhea Ripley. The former Cruiserweight champion was unfortunately released from the company as part of the 2021 budget cuts. He joined AEW in 2022. Despite the opposite schedule, the two stars continued their relationship and got married in June 2024.

Speaking on how they make things work, the AEW star explained that he\’s truly married to his best friend. According to him, he\’s very comfortable with Rhea and don\’t need anyone else to feel content:

\”I get kind of emotional talking about it; I’ve married my best friend. There isn’t anyone that I’d want to spend any more time with. I only need her. That’s it. I don’t need a massive group of friends. I don’t need approval. As long as I have her I could be the clown too, and we can just be chilled. I don’t need to go out.

Give me a pizza, my wife, a horror movie, and we are good. I’m on cloud nine, and then generally, I’ll fall asleep, but that’s because I’m comfortable. That’s a good thing for a guy, if a guy could fall asleep. So yeah, but she’s my best friend, and now I’m very lucky.”

Later in the interview, Buddy Matthews also talked about going on honeymoon with Ripley right after suffering a foot injury in his Grand Slam Australia match with Kazuchika Okada and more.

  • Receipt Is Coming: CM Punk Breaks Silence On Paul Heyman\’s WrestleMania 41 Betrayal

CM Punk has warned Paul Heyman after his WrestleMania 41 betrayal.

The Straight Edge Star cashed in his favor to force the former ECW Owner to be in his corner at the Show of Shows. The tactic did not work in favor of Punk, however, as Heyman ended up betraying him and Roman Reigns, to align with Seth Rollins.

Punk then appeared on the April 21 episode of Raw but he didn\’t waste any time talking. The former AEW star attacked Heyman and Rollins only to be taken out by Bron Breakker in return.

The former World Champion talked about this turn of events among other things in an interview with Deadline. CM Punk warned his former advocate, saying that a receipt is coming:

\”Heyman has betrayed me before. We’ve been friends for a very long time, and friends fight. Since he’s betrayed me before, he knows how this plays out. He knows there’s receipts coming for him, too.

The betrayal and the mental pain, I think, are worse than the physical. I almost wish he would’ve done all that and stuck with Roman, because going with Seth was the real pain. But you know what? Seth needs him.\”

Paul Heyman had been associated with CM Punk during his historic 434-day-long WWE Championship reign that ended in January 2013. Heyman betrayed the Chicago native later that year, costing him the Money In The Bank match and getting Brock Lesnar to attack him.

While Punk did not win at WrestleMania 41, it was still a monumental night for him as the WWE star fulfilled his lifelong goal of main eventing WrestleMania. You can check out how he celebrated after the show here.

  • CM Punk Reveals What He Did After His First WrestleMania Main Event

CM Punk\’s post-WrestleMania celebration was not what you\’d expect at all.

The Straight Edge Star got to fulfil a lifelong dream when he main evented night 1 of WrestleMania 41. Punk went up against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in a triple-threat match that revolved around their relationship with Paul Heyman.

Speaking to Deadline in his first interview after the Show of Shows, Punk said that the whole thing was like a dream. When asked how he handled all the adrenaline after getting to the back following the show, the former World Champion explained that he needs to decompress after any such big moment:

\”I’m 100% an introvert, and I think a lot of my fellow entertainers are too. Everyone’s always shocked, or they tell me that I’m not [an introvert], but I know me. For every hour I spend with people, I need two hours by myself. So when you’re having this intimate moment with 61,000 people, I live for those moments, but I need to balance and decompress afterward.\”

The activities didn\’t end with WrestleMania this year and WWE had booked many programs such as exclusive meet & greets as well as a roast for fans to attend after the Show of Shows. For CM Punk, however, the night after Mania looked very different as he spent the time in his hotel room with a few of his close friends:

\”That’s why when I get invited to cool spots to eat and stuff like that, honestly, that’s the last thing you want to do after that. I went back to my hotel with four or five friends, and we ordered everything on the room service menu and just sat around the table and bullshit like family. That’s how I decompress from all that adrenaline.\”

Punk ended up losing the match after being betrayed by Heyman. The former ECW owner turned on Roman Reigns as well and ended up joining hands with Seth Rollins instead.

  • Five Figure Price For Seth Rollins Raw Drip Revealed

Seth Rollins doesn\’t spare any expense.

The Architect has become known for his drip almost as much as his wrestling accolades in recent times. Even if his fashion sense is out of the ordinary, however, it\’s certainly not cheap.

The former WWE Champion has worn many eye-catching outfits with jaw-dropping prices on WWE TV in the last couple years, and his outfit on this week\’s episode of Raw was not any different.

The former Shield member wore an interesting coat while appearing alongside his new associates, Paul Heyman and Bron Breakker, on this week\’s episode of the Red Branded Show. The coat has since been recognized as the one sold by Pakistani brand Rastah, costing a whopping $13,500:

Seth Rollins opened this week\’s episode of Raw with Heyman and Breakker. He was confronted by Sami Zayn who questioned his motives and in return, Rollins offered Zayn a move to the SmackDown brand.

Paul Heyman later told Sami that he could get him a WWE Championship match if he accepted Seth\’s offer. When the Honorary Uce refused however, he got a match with Bron Breakker in the main event of the show instead.

The young star dominated most of the bout and the match had to be stopped after Breakker delivered multiple spears to Zayn. The destruction didn\’t end there as Rollins picked things up from where Bron left them and he delivered a brutal stomp to Sami to end the show.

  • New Glitch Appears On Raw As Wyatt Sicks Return Speculations Pick Up

A new glitch has appeared on Raw.

The Wyatt Sicks have been missing from WWE TV for a few months with a reported injury to their leader, Bo Dallas, but it appears that the company might be hinting at their return to TV.

WWE presented this week\’s episode of Monday Night Raw from T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, which featured the follow-up for WrestleMania 41 as well as the build for the Backlash PPV.

Fans caught something unexpected during the broadcast as well. Logan Paul was shown walking backstage before his entrance on the show, and one of the screens showing the Raw graphic glitched as he went past:

The company has long used such easter eggs to tease the future of the Wyatt Sicks. With their long absence, it\’s speculated to indicate their return to TV.

Latest reports have also indicated that Creative is set for the faction\’s comeback, and they\’ll be getting a new leader upon their return to WWE programming.

The glitch appearing on the Raw broadcast is an unexpected development as the group was moved to SmackDown during the transfer window earlier this year, but they have yet to make an appearance on the Blue Branded show.

  • Chad Gable Reacts To WrestleMania 41 Snub: \’I Got Robbed\’

    Chad Gable feels robbed.

The former Olympian has been with WWE for over a decade. While he has wrestled in a couple of tag team matches at WrestleMania, the WWE star is yet to make his singles debut at the Show of Shows.

2025 could have been the year of Gable but he was snubbed again. Despite American Made\’s ongoing feud with Rey Mysterio and LWO, it was the newcomer El Grande Americano who got a singles match against the Master of 619 at the PPV, instead of the former NXT star.

Chad Gable reacted to meeting disappointment once again in a new Instagram video of Ropebreaks. The non-masked star, said that he was robbed of the opportunity:

\”I got robbed again, man. This year, by this new guy, comes out of nowhere. Two matches and he\’s on WrestleMania. Can you imagine how I feel? Twelve years in, thirteen years in. I wish him the best of luck, I like that guy,\”

Rey Mysterio had to pull out of the WrestleMania match against El Grande Americano after getting injured on SmackDown this past Friday. The WWE Hall of Famer was replaced by the company\’s newest signing Rey Fenix in the match.

Unfortunately for Fenix, it was El Grande who picked up the victory at the show. What the future holds for Chad Gable is unknown but maybe he should consider feuding with Americano to get on the Mania card next year.

  • Potential Spoiler On Wyatt Sicks\’ WWE Return Plans

Wyatt Sicks may be returning to WWE TV very soon, with a new leader.

The Mysterious group has not made any appearances on WWE TV since being moved to the SmackDown brand earlier this year. Their absence has been attributed to the group\’s leader Bo Dallas, dealing with an undisclosed injury.

Meanwhile, Alexa Bliss has also been pulled from TV in the last few weeks, after having returned to action following a 2 year hiatus during the Royal Rumble.

Now a new report from PWinsider has provided an update on these stars. They noted that despite not wrestling since the Elimination Chamber PPV, Bliss is not injured. She is actually healthy and was in attendance at WrestleMania 41 even if she wasn\’t booked for the show.

The former Women\’s Champion is awaiting new creative direction for her return to TV, and it might happen as soon as this Friday\’s episode of SmackDown.

According to the site, the Wyatt Sicks group will be returning to TV on the Blue Branded Show as well, and Alexa Bliss is set to be revealed as their new leader.

Bliss has a long history with the late Bray Wyatt. The two were involved in a long-standing storyline during his Fiend days. So her leading the group is not a completely out-of-the-box idea.

Where this leaves Bo Dallas\’ Uncle Howdy however, is something we\’ll have to see and his absence or presence at tomorrow\’s show would be a thing to watch for.

  • WWE Hall of Famer Announced For TNA Rebellion Appearance

A WWE Hall of Famer is set to appear at TNA Rebellion.

The company announced a six-man tag team match for the upcoming PPV after tonight\’s episode of Impact. The bout will see The Rascalz (Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz) & Ace Austin facing The System (Brian Myers, Eddie Edwards, & JDC).

Since Alisha Edwards is expected to be on the corner of the System for this bout, TNA announced that the other side will also get some backup, in form of WWE & WCW legend Sean \’X-Pac\’ Waltman:

Waltman has a history with the promotion. He competed for them during the early NWA days. The veteran returned to the company for a short run in 2010 and even had a reign with the X Division title.

  • Bobby Lashley Recalls Worst Bump of His Career

Bobby Lashley has revealed which WWE superstar gave him the worst bump of his career.

The Hurt Syndicate recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet. They talked about things such as potentially expanding the group, if MVP is retired from in-ring action, the possibility of their kids entering the business, and more.

When asked about the worst bumps they have ever taken, Bobby Lashley recalled a match with Big E. He explained that he got slammed into the stairs and only realized how bad it looked when he watched the replay later on:

“One time when Big E slammed me into the stairs. I don’t know what even happened. The corner of the stairs, the metal stairs, he picked me up and he slammed me on it.

And it was one of those ones where I thought when I hit it and I laid down that ground, I was like, am I good? I’m still okay. But when I watched it back, and I have it on my Instagram, it’s horrible. It looked a lot worse than it was. So thank God I was okay afterwards. I wasn’t hurt at all, but it looks nasty.”

I Thought Everything Was Broke: Shelton Benjamin

Shelton Benjamin also answered the question, recalling an indie show in Mexico after his first run with WWE. The ring was double-stacked, and he fell down hard on the concrete when he tried to roll out of it during a spot. Per the Gold Standard, it was one of the most painful experiences of his life, and he would never wrestle in such a setting again:

\”This is Mexico. They had a ring and it was like double-stacked. So it was the height of a ring on top of a ring. At some point during the match, I took a bump where I was supposed to just roll out to the floor, and I rolled, and I forgot [the height].

I came down and splat on the concrete. It was one of the most painful experiences of my life, I thought everything was broke. So I was like, I will never wrestle in one of these things again.\”

Apart from this, Shelton Benjamin also talked about Max Caster saying that he was not welcomed in AEW when the Hurt Syndicate had not reformed in the company. Benjamin revealed a backstage interaction with Caster which confirmed his suspicion. You can check out his remarks on the matter here.

  • Shelton Benjamin Talks Max Caster\’s Controversial Comments, Last Big Goal In Wrestling

Shelton Benjamin says Max Caster is an idiot.

The Gold Standard was expected to join AEW when he was released from his WWE contract in 2023. Max Caster, however, made headlines by claiming that he didn\’t want the former champion in his company. He explained that the spot should go to him or someone else who is already on the roster.

In a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Shelton addressed Caster\’s previous remarks. Benjamin, who made his AEW debut in October last year, noted that he had a chat with Max which confirmed his suspicion:

“We’ve spoken, and pretty much what I suspected was true, Max is an idiot. He was poking the bear but then the bear showed up and he decided, okay, maybe I should stop poking. So long story short, it’s my spot now.”

Top of The List: Shelton Benjamin

Shelton Benjamin also talked about the one goal he still has in wrestling, saying that he wants a world title run. While all Hurt Syndicate members have indicated multiple times that it\’s the last chapter of their careers, Benjamin noted that he is still putting all his effort into his performances:

“I’m going to just say yes. I definitely still want a world title. If you watch my performances, I’m not performing like a guy who wants to just retire and ride off into the sunset.

While I definitely want to help elevate other talent, because that’s a big part of why we’re here, I still have goals. Being a World Champion in a prominent company is definitely on top of that list.\”

Shelton Benjamin noted that he has held a world title in smaller promotions before but he is not sure it counts the same. Either way, he still wants a world title run in a major promotion and the 49-year-old is working every day to keep his dream alive.

  • TNA Star Confirms Free Agency In Emotional Post

A TNA star is now a free agent.

It was reported earlier this week that former Dark Order member Alan Angels had become a free agent again. This came after his contract with the Anthem owned promotion expired at the start of new year.

The 27-year-old confirmed this news on X, writing an emotional statement. Angles noted that being forced to leave TNA is a big hit for him since he has been a fan of the company for many years:

The thing about wrestling is, no matter how much you love it, it doesn\’t have to love you back. Wrestling doesn\’t owe anyone anything. Not going to lie, this is a big hit to me. I love TNA. It was an absolute dream to wrestle there under a brand that I have watched since I was little.\”

The young star confirmed that he won\’t be leaving the business and instead he\’ll be looking for a new start. Though he admitted that the path to success is not clear to him and he has no idea about his next destination.

Trained by AR Fox, Alan Angels made his debut in the wrestling world in 2016 and he was signed by AEW in 2020. He was recruited into the Dark Order as Number 5 after a few early losses. 5 left the group in 2021, after unsuccessfully challenging Evil Uno over the leadership of the faction.

Angles joined the TNA roster in November 2022 after his AEW release. He was part of the Violent by Design faction in the company. Alan even won an Ultimate X match to earn the right to challenge for the X Division title but failed to capture the belt.

  • \’Super Validating\’: Dominik Mysterio Proud of WrestleMania 41 Match

Dominik Mysterio is proud of himself.

The young wrestling veteran wrestled in one of the biggest matches of his career at WrestleMania 41. It wasn\’t Dom\’s first appearance at the Show of Shows, but it was the first time he was challenging for a singles title at the event.

The Judgment Day star acknowledged the importance of this in an interview with CBS Sports over the weekend. He called the opportunity \’super validating\’ after having worked hard on his character and in-ring work since his 2020 WWE debut:

\”It\’s super validating. The fact that it\’s my first Mania competing for a singles title. It\’s also my first Mania without my deadbeat dad anywhere around me. It\’s definitely an accomplishment for me.\”

Dominik Mysterio went on to win the Intercontinental Championship at the PPV. He seemed genuinely surprised at the positive reception of fans, and an overjoyed Mysterio had an extended celebration after the match.

A number of wrestling veteran including Triple H and John Cena have given Prison Dom his flowers since then, discussing his amazing transformation since first emerging on the WWE horizon.

Even Rey Mysterio, the father of the 28-year-old, who suffered a storyline betrayal at the hands of Dirty Dom, was not able to hide his true feelings on his son\’s success. You can check out what the WWE Hall of Famer had to say about Dom\’s progression here.

  • Joe Hendry Reveals How WrestleMania 41 Match Came About

Joe Hendry has revealed how he found out about his WrestleMania 41 match.

Randy Orton was left off of the Mania card after his scheduled opponent Kevin Owens had to pull out of the bout due to a neck injury. Still determined to be at the Show of Shows, The Viper decided that he\’ll hold an open challenge, and it was answered by none other than the current TNA World Champion.

The viral star had an interview with Ariel Helwani after the PPV to discuss his opponent. While reports suggest that WWE had started considering Hendry as soon as KO made the announcement, the TNA star revealed that he only found out about it the week before the match:

\”So, I was in the airport, and I got a text from Triple H saying, \’can you talk?\’ And you know, I was at WWE World. I was scheduled to be there, to be signing things. I thought, you know, maybe something to the effect of, you know, they’ve got the Slammies, or it might be like, you know, doing a promo at WWE World.\”

Joe Hendry noted that he was not expecting to make his WrestleMania debut even when Triple H got on the call with him. He was surprised when the match was brought up:

\”So, I’m kind of expecting that’s what the call is going to be. And Triple H says, ‘Listen, I’m sure you’re aware that Randy needs an opponent.’ And, yeah, that threw me off completely. I was in a state of shock, but I just, you know, I knew there was a job to be done.\”

The WrestleMania bout wasn\’t the only WWE appearance for Joe Hendry in the past week. He returned to NXT on Tuesday and teased a champion vs. champion match. You can check out more about it here.
