  • WWE Quietly Retires Championship

    WWE Quietly Retires Championship

WWE has officially closed the book on the NXT Heritage Cup Championship. The title has been quietly removed from the active championships section of WWE.com, ending a lineage that traces back to NXT UK in 2020.

Archive.org listing shows the title was still included on the company’s site as recently as late May, placing the removal sometime between then and now.

    An Unceremonious End

Fans have anticipated this move for a while. The Heritage Cup has not been featured on NXT programming since Tony D’Angelo stole the cup and tossed it off a bridge in July 2025, a storyline moment that effectively ended the title’s run.

Despite that, Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo had remained the technical champion the entire time. Lorenzo won the title in June 2025 and was still listed as the holder right up until the removal, leaving his final reign clocked at 345 days.

    Heritage Cup History

The Heritage Cup was first introduced in 2020 for the NXT UK brand. Over its run, it was held by a string of names from across NXT’s various eras.

    • Tyler Bate
    • Noam Dar
    • A-Kid
    • Mark Coffey
    • Lexis King
    • Nathan Frazer
    • Channing Lorenzo

Noam Dar holds the record for the longest individual reign at 341 days. Lorenzo’s final reign of 345 days technically surpasses that mark, though it ended not with a defeat but with the title being written off and never defended again.

Current Champion Joins Don Callis Family On AEW Dynamite

The Don Callis Family has added another reigning champion to its ranks. On the June 3 episode of AEW Dynamite, TNT Champion Kevin Knight officially aligned himself with Don Callis, bringing championship gold with him into one of AEW’s most influential factions.

The announcement crystallizes the heel turn Knight began at Double or Nothing, when he betrayed Darby Allin and dissolved his popular JetSpeed partnership with “Speedball” Mike Bailey.

Kevin Knight Aligns With Don Callis Family

The reveal hijacked a segment that initially looked focused on the AEW World Championship picture. Fresh off a dominant win over an enhancement talent, Andrade El Idolo grabbed a microphone and called out AEW World Champion MJF, questioning whether the Salt of the Earth truly believed he could beat him.

Before Andrade could get an answer, Don Callis and Jake Doyle made their way out and changed the direction of the segment entirely. Callis announced that TNT Champion Kevin Knight had officially joined the Don Callis Family.

    Kevin Knight Retains

The reveal was followed by a title defence, with Knight putting his championship up on the line against Mike Bailey. The new partnership started paying dividends immediately as Doyle and Callis ran interference, which allowed Kevin to retain the belt against his former partner.

Having lost the Continental and International Championships over the last few months, the Don Callis Family had been faced with the challenge of relevancy. Adding the TNT Champion to their ranks gives a new life to the faction and gives them a new direction.

Former Champion Revealed As Wild Card In Owen Hart Cup

Mercedes Moné ended her 2026 AEW absence in dramatic fashion on the June 3 episode of Dynamite, dropping straight into the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament with a guaranteed AEW Women’s World Championship match on the line. The defending Owen Hart Cup winner returned not for a soft reintroduction but with a chance to chase a rare back-to-back tournament victory.

Moné surfaced as the mystery wild card entrant, the unannounced opponent waiting for Alex Windsor in a quarterfinal matchup. AEW held the surprise until the last moment, revealing “The CEO” as the entrant for her first AEW appearance of 2026.

Mercedes Moné re-enters the Owen Hart Tournament picture

In the quarterfinal, Moné defeated Windsor via submission after a competitive back-and-forth contest. Windsor found moments of offense and repeatedly pushed the former champion, but Moné stayed a step ahead, connecting with multiple Meteoras and backstabbers throughout the bout.

The finish came when she locked in the Statement Maker for a second time, forcing Windsor to tap. Mone will now be facing the winner of the Hazuki vs. Persephone match in the semi-final of the tournament.

    Moné advances past Alex Windsor

Her comeback ended a lengthy hiatus that began after she lost the TBS Championship at New Year’s Smash late last year. Questions about Mone’s status had circulated throughout the absence, and her return had been telegraphed by recent reporting that she remained under an AEW contract.

Rather than ease back into competition, Moné jumped directly into a tournament where the stakes could hardly be higher. The winner earns a guaranteed AEW Women’s World Championship match at All In: London.

The return carries added weight given her history in the event. Having won the Owen Hart Cup in 2025, Moné now has an opportunity to pull off a back-to-back tournament triumph.

Backstage Update On Recent Lucha Underground Tease

    Is Lucha Underground coming back?

Despite not being active since 2018, the defunct wrestling promotion still maintains a cult following. The influence of the product is still felt across the wrestling space, and every so often, rumors about a potential revival for the product pick up steam again.

So it wasn’t a surprise that fans got excited about the prospect of the company’s future when the official LU Twitter account posted a teaser last week after being inactive for over half a decade. The promotion’s official website was then updated to suggest that the brand will start running events again soon.

Fightful Select recently provided an update on these teases. They noted that MGM and Amazon have the controlling interest in Lucha Underground. The tech giant seems to be happy letting the Lucha Underground library float around, and there hasn’t been any interest in selling the library despite past inquiries.

As for the recent teases, the site is reporting that the brand will actually be launching a new YouTube channel soon, and the recent posts are aimed at generating buzz for it.

Though the report did not provide any update on LU becoming a touring brand again. We’ll have to see if it means the company will be producing new content for the YouTube channel or just using old footage to sell tickets for non-televised shows.

Bronson Reed Involved In Car Accident On Tuesday

Bronson Reed continues facing one obstacle after another.

The Vision star, who is currently out of action due to an injury, revealed on Instagram that he was involved in a car accident this Tuesday. The former NXT star thankfully confirmed that no one got hurt during the incident, though he did call out people for not focusing on the road while driving:

“Just had a rear collision. Thankfully, everyone is okay. But people stop driving on your damn phones, pay attention. People have kids in their cars,”

Bronson Reed suffered a distal bicep tear during the February 23 episode of WWE Raw. He suffered the damage while attempting to break a pin during his triple threat match, also involving Jey Uso and El Grande Americano.

The former North American Champion underwent surgery later that week. Reports suggest that creative has Reed slated to face Roman Reigns once he returns to WWE programming, though a specific timetable for the same is not known.

The Vision faction has not been doing so well in Bronson’s absence either. Logan Paul underwent surgery himself for a torn triceps just last month and latest social media clips have raised concerns about the health of another member of the group. You can check out more about it here.

Raw Star Officially Moved To SmackDown

    Finn Balor has moved on.

WWE recently revealed the full brackets for the announced King of the Ring tournament featuring stars from both Raw and SmackDown rosters. One interesting detail on the graphic showed the former Universal Champion being represented by the blue color instead of red, giving rise to speculation that the wrestling veteran had switched brands.

The move was then confirmed during the latest episode of the Monday Night show. While interviewing the Judgment Day during a commercial break, Byron Saxton noted that Finn Balor had officially been traded to SmackDown:

The King of the Ring tournament kicked off at tonight’s Raw, with Oba Femi picking up a dominant victory over Penta, Solo Sikoa, and Carmelo Hayes to advance to the semi-finals of the tournament. Balor will get his own chance for the same when he faces LA Knight, Jey Uso, and Royce Keys in a first-round match.

There is no word on whether Raw will be getting a replacement for Finn. Though with Jacob Fatu acknowledging Roman Reigns on the Red Branded Show this week, it’s possible that the Samoan Werewolf is now considered a Raw star in place of Balor.

Cody Rhodes Comments On Brock Lesnar Coming Out of ‘Retirement’

Cody Rhodes wants to go back to ’90s-style retirements.

The Undisputed WWE Champion recently appeared on the Unsportsmanlike podcast to promote the Clash In Italy PPV. He talked about things such as where the Clash series of PPVs rank among other PLEs, Ethan Page offending him recently, and more.

During the talk, the American Nightmare also gave his thoughts on Brock Lesnar coming out of ‘retirement’ for a rematch with Oba Femi this Sunday. Cody Rhodes first expressed hope that the Beast Incarnate will stick around till SummerSlam to retire in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The current champion then also claimed he wants wrestling to go back to the old ways, where people continue competing even after retirement:

“But I also, I want to get back to 90s style retirements anyways, where we just say we’re retired and then we’re not. Brock has kind of started that out. Terry Funk was retired for 20 years, I think. [Ric] Flair retired a bunch, [Randy] Savage kept retiring, so I’m good with if we’re not doing big absolute definitive retirements anymore. Just say I’m taking a break.”

Bryan Danielson is the one name that has chosen a path similar to the one Cody Rhodes is suggesting. The former World Champion announced the end of his full-time run with the 2024 WrestleDream PPV, giving fans a chance to celebrate his career without officially putting an end to it.

The WWE Champion will be defending his title against Gunther at the Clash In Italy PPV this weekend. The match has been announced for the first hour of the show, but it’s possible that WWE will be forced to move it to the main event. You can check out the reason for it here.

Backstage Update On Jacob Fatu’s Injury

WWE is worried about Jacob Fatu.

The company had recently confirmed that the Clash In Italy WWE Championship match between Gunther and Cody Rhodes will be part of the opening hour on ESPN. This meant that the announced World Title match between Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu was poised to main event the PLE.

The Samaon Werewolf, however, was seen limping following his match at a Liverpool house show on May 28, raising concerns about his status for the PPV event this Sunday.

Jacob Fatu Dealing With Legitimate Injury

PWinsider provided some updates on the matter, revealing that Jacob Fatu was not just selling after his Street Fight with Solo Sikoa, and he was legitimately hurt in the bout.

The site noted that WWE was concerned that he might not be cleared in time for his match against Roman Reigns and that the company was considering alternative plans in case this happens.

Cory Hays of False Finish also confirmed that the promotion was looking into potential pivots, though he claimed that the officials are operating under the assumption that the former US Champion will be fine by Sunday:

There is no word on what the pivot will look like if Fatu is unable to compete at the show. It’s possible that we will see Cody Rhodes and Gunther main eventing the PPV if the other world title match does not go as planned.

Kit Wilson Releases Statement On Missing SmackDown

Kit Wilson has explained his absence.

The former Pretty Deadly member was notably missing from this week’s episode of SmackDown that came live from Olimpic Arena in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The Miz was seen complaining about his absence on the show to Nick Aldis, claiming that his partner got detained in customs because of too much moisturizer and a liquid limit.

The A-Lister said that he could not continue with his match against Axiom without Wilson. Though the SmackDown General Manager was having none of it, and he refused to postpone the bout.

    Kit Wilson Statement

The 31-year-old released a statement on X later in the day, apologizing to fans in Barcelona for missing the show. He explained that multiple travel complications led to him missing an event for the first time in his career:

“Unfortunately I wasn’t able to make it back to Europe due to multiple travel complications and issues at the airport. I’m absolutely gutted. This is the first time I’ve ever missed a show. At this point, it honestly feels like I’m cursed and everything is falling apart. I’d also like to apologise to my mentor, The Miz, for letting him down, it won’t happen again.”

As expected, things did not go The Miz’s way in the absence of his partner. Axiom, who hails from Spain himself ended up winning the bout by pinning the former World Champion with a Golden Ratio.

WWE will continue the European tour until June 8 and return to America for the June 12 episode of SmackDown. Wilson should be back on TV by then if he is unable to join the rest of the WWE crew before that.

  • Cody Rhodes Secretly Hates This

    Cody Rhodes Secretly Hates This

    Cody Rhodes hates receiving gifts.

The Undisputed WWE Champion sat down with WWE superfans Sean & Finn Rhatigan for the latest episode of his podcast. Among other things, they discussed the topic of fans giving gifts to wrestlers. Speaking on it, Cody Rhodes revealed that he actually hates receiving gifts from fans, giving an example to explain his point:

“So this is secret now, it’s not gonna be a secret anymore, but I hate gifts. Hate them. Because I don’t know how to receive them. I feel like I’m not being grateful enough, or I’m not appreciative [enough]. Sometimes I get so insecure, I’m not worthy, but then also fans give you gifts sometimes that are so nice, but so insanely big. Where am I gonna take this?

Last year, at WWE World, there was a fan who had the full production crew with them. This was a moment. They were in my line to meet me, and they had a poster board, like a giant board. And I can tell this is big and I’m not gonna ruin anyone’s party. I’m excited to see what you got. But I can tell they’re filming it, so it’s a whole thing. We’re on, right?

Okay. He turned it around, and God bless, it’s a picture of my whole family, completely AI-generated except for my Pomeranian. So Yeti is a real photo. Then surrounded by AI images of my family, like, Liberty’s hair is wrong because, they AI-generated what her hair [would] look like.”

I Still Have This: Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes took the gift home and showed it to his daughter, Liberty. This turned out to be a mistake, however, because the board still sits at his home:

“I took it and it was, honestly, the thought is always so important. But we have to do something with this. I have to get this back. Get it in a car. Have to get this somewhere. So we’re kind of giving it a hard time. And I brought it to my hotel room and I showed it to Liberty, and it was a mistake.

Because I said, ‘All right, we gotta take this. You know, we’re gonna get rid of this.’ And [she] started crying, ‘No, that’s my family.’ So we had to sit it by her bed. And as we can hear on the monitor, she’s like, ‘Goodnight, Yeti. Goodnight.’ Like, she’s talking to it. So now I still have this, this ridiculous thing.”

  • R-Truth Almost Quit Wrestling Before His Fame

R-Truth Almost Quit Wrestling Before His Fame

R-Truth has revealed that he nearly quit WWE before his career truly began, and it was a Hall of Famer who convinced him to stay.

Speaking on Six Feet Under with The Undertaker, the WWE veteran reflected on a difficult period early in his career when he was ready to walk away from wrestling entirely. At the time, his WWE developmental contract was nearing its end and he was struggling both professionally and personally.

“My contract was coming up. I hadn’t already gave up because I was having issues at home and my mind wasn’t there in Memphis and developmental,” R-Truth said. “I was like I’m ready to quit man. I’m not made for wrestling.”

    Road Dogg’s Encouragement Changed Everything

Everything shifted when WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg crossed paths with him. According to R-Truth, Road Dogg saw potential in him that he couldn’t see in himself.

“He believed in me and said, ‘Hey man, you got what it takes. You got to hold on. Can you give me two months? I’ll have you out of here,’” R-Truth recalled.

The wrestling veteran would go on to make his main roster debut in November 2000 as Road Dogg’s new tag team partner. This run did not last long, and Truth was released from his contract a year later, but it stopped the legendary career that followed from ending before it began.

The veteran superstar emphasized how much that belief meant to him. “Just to have somebody believe in you means a lot. It didn’t take a bunch of people. He believed in me,” he said. “People helping people is a powerful thing.”

The story offers a reminder that sometimes the most important moments in a wrestling career happen outside the ring. For R-Truth, it was when someone refused to let him give up before his journey had truly begun.

  • Ronda Rousey Gives Unexpected Response To AEW Question

Ronda Rousey Gives Unexpected Response To AEW Question

Ronda Rousey is not interested in a wrestling return.

The former WWE star surprised everyone with an appearance at the AEW Revolution PPV in March this year. With the former UFC Champion claiming that her appearance was a ‘fuck you’ to TKO and Tony Khan giving an open invitation to her for a return, the MMA veteran looked poised for a run with the promotion.

So it’s no wonder that she was asked about a potential AEW run during her recent interview with the Up & Adams Show. Ronda Rousey, however, gave an unexpected answer, indicating that she has no interest in going back on the road:

“No. That life of being on the road is probably more time-consuming than doing training camp at home. I had a great time but it just happened to be in town and my best friend was there, you know what I mean?”

Ronda Rousey had appeared on Revolution to confront Toni Storm, who defeated her longtime friend Marina Shafir in a singles match at the PPV. With the Timeless One going on an extended hiatus right after the show, however, it’s possible that any preliminary talks for a match between the two fell apart.

After the Gina Carano fight, the UFC legend had also indicated that she wanted to extend her family, which could be another reason for her hesitation towards going back on the road for a wrestling run.

Logan Paul Reveals How He Suffered SNME Injury

Logan Paul has revealed how he got injured.

WWE announced on this Monday’s Raw that The Vision star had suffered an injury during Saturday Night’s Main Event and he will be out for months. The YouTuber then shared photos on social media later in the week, confirming that he had undergone surgery for torn triceps.

The 31-year-old provided some more details about the whole situation on the latest episode of his vlog. Logan Paul revealed that the injury occurred while Angelo Dawkins of Street Profits jumped on his arm during the bout:

“When [Angelo] Dawkins jumped on me. My arm got kind of caught here, like pinched. I was too far back, so when I caught him, he didn’t roll over me. He kind of landed on me, and I folded onto myself.”

Some Weird Stuff’s Been Going On: Logan Paul

The latest Saturday Night’s Main Event saw the Vision successfully retaining the tag team titles against Street Profits. On Raw, Paul Heyman confirmed that the titles will continue to be defended under freebird rule, with Bron Breakker stepping in to team with Austin Theory in the absence of his usual partner.

Logan Paul noted that he was not expecting the hardship in his life to come in form of ‘Dawkins’ fat ass.’ The former US Champion also suspected that a curse from Danhausen might be the reason for his injury:

“You know, there comes a point in every man’s life where they’re faced with hardship and unexpected hardship. I didn’t expect Dawkins’ fat ass to send my tricep hurtling into the ground, forcing my arm to flex too hard with too much weight and pop my triceps. I felt it. I’m starting to think the cursing [from Danhausen] might be real. Some weird stuff’s been going on.”

A timetable for Paul’s return to the ring has not been revealed by WWE at the moment. The usual recovery time for a torn triceps is somewhere between 4 to 6 months, so it’s likely that Logan will miss the upcoming SummerSlam PPV.

I Was Dying: Rhea Ripley Recalls Collapsing During WWE Australia Tour

Rhea Ripley has detailed her mental health struggles.

The WWE Women’s Champion was the most recent guest on Stephanie McMahon’s podcast. She talked about things such as her rivalry with Jade Cargill and more.

During the interview, the Mami also opened up about her mental health struggles. She revealed that one of the toughest times for her mentally was WWE’s Australia tour in 2025 for the Crown Jewel PPV. Being a native of the country, Rhea Ripley was not only trying to please all her friends and family, but the WWE star also felt responsible for everything that was happening on the show:

“I felt like the face of Australia in WWE. So I was like, ‘I take full responsibility for everything that’s happening here. I take responsibility for how I perform. I take responsibility for how these fans treat my peers.’  I took responsibility for too much, and I just wanted to make sure everyone was happy.”

My Body Was Shutting Down: Rhea Ripley

The mental load of trying to please everyone became so bad that Rhea Ripley had a full-blown panic attack on the RAW after the PLE. According to the former Judgment Day star, her body was shutting down and she felt like she was dying:

“I was just like, at such a really low point. Even after…we had the three shows we had — SmackDown, then Crown [Jewel], and then RAW — by the time RAW was done, I collapsed in catering. Yeah, it was bad. I had a full panic attack. I hadn’t eaten; I hadn’t drunk water. My body was shutting down. It was probably the skinniest I’ve ever been, and I was just like dying.”

After the trip, Ripley started putting herself first a lot more and started cutting people out of her life who were making things worse for her. She described sending the message to that effect to one unnamed person, writing that she ‘can’t give you any more of me.’

  • Undertaker Defends Wrestlers Court Against Bullying Accusations

Undertaker Defends Wrestlers Court Against Bullying Accusations

The Undertaker believes the Wrestlers’ Court was a necessary backstage tool

The topic was discussed during a recent episode of his Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway podcast with R-Truth as the guest. The WWE Hall of Famer pushed back against perceptions that the locker room practice was simply bullying, explaining it served as a disciplinary mechanism that mixed humor with serious messages about conduct and respect.

“I think a lot of people hear – so many guys have talked about Wrestlers Court – and they think, oh man, it was a bullying thing,” The Undertaker said. “And it was like, no, it’s a way to let you know that you’re screwing up a little bit, and we’re just going to bring it to you in this manner. But you might want to get your shit together, because the next time we got to talk about this, it’s probably not going to be as pleasant.”

The Dead Man described the court sessions as playful but serious, noting that Jack Daniel’s was often involved and that “the damn hammer was down.” He characterized it as his way of controlling the locker room without being overly heavy-handed.

    R-Truth Corroborates Disciplinary Purpose

R-Truth supported the fellow legend’s description. He explained that Wrestlers Court was “a way of sending a message without having to be ultra heavy and like, dude, you’re screwing up here.”

The format allowed veterans to test how younger talent received criticism while maintaining locker room standards. The Undertaker framed the practice within the context of WWE’s grueling road schedule during his era:

“Back then we were on the road, worked all the time. People get a little short and they get a little high-strung sometimes,” he explained. “So you needed a little bit of levity sometimes in keeping everybody on the right plane.”

    Educational Mechanism, Not Bullying

The Undertaker acknowledged that some court sessions could become tense when personal issues were involved, but stressed the overall objective was to handle problems without escalating them. He clarified that the intent was educational, giving wrestlers a warning to correct their behavior before more serious consequences followed.

“The overall objective to Wrestlers Court was to handle an issue but not make it an issue,” he said. The practice emphasized the importance of time management and respecting fellow locker room members within the decorum of professional wrestling.

Wrestlers Court remains a contentious topic in wrestling history, with opinions divided on its place in modern locker room culture. The Undertaker’s comments provide insight into how the veteran locker room leader viewed the practice during his active years.

Potential Jacob Fatu Injury Scare Days Before Clash In Italy

Jacob Fatu sparked concern among fans after appearing to suffer an injury during WWE’s Liverpool house show on May 28, 2026. The WWE superstar was observed limping backstage and receiving medical attention following his match on the show.

WWE launched its European tour with a stacked house show in Liverpool featuring several top stars. One of the featured matches saw Fatu battle Solo Sikoa in a Liverpool Street Fight that delivered for the live crowd. Twitter user @xlilcubx, who attended the event, described the bout as an incredible street fight between the two Samoan stars.

    Medical Attention Backstage

However, the same fan noted that Fatu appeared to be limping as he headed backstage following the match. Multiple attendees reported that medical staff met Fatu as he went through the curtain, with one fan stating he “landed a move very awkwardly and was in a lot of pain.”

At this time, there has been no official confirmation from WWE that Fatu actually suffered an injury. It’s entirely possible that the superstar was simply selling the damage from the physically demanding street fight.

Fatu is currently enjoying a major push in WWE as part of The Bloodline storyline. He recently challenged Roman Reigns to Tribal Combat. The match is set to main event the Clash In Italy PPV this Sunday.

Vince McMahon Would Never Ask Talent For Pay Cuts, Says Ex-Employee

Ex-WWE writer believes Vince McMahon would not treat New Day as TKO.

The TKO management has been criticised by fans recently amid reports of them asking talents to take as much as 50% pay cut while touting record profits. This move has been linked to The New Day’s departure from the company, ending the group’s decade-plus run with the promotion.

Though they are not the only recent WWE release, as the company has also let go the entire Wyatt Sicks faction as well as names such as Kairi Sane and Aleister Black as part of their post-WrestleMania talent cuts.

Former WWE writer Chris Dunn gave his thoughts on the topic during a recent appearance on Public Enemies Podcast. He compared the recent releases to the previous regime run by Vince McMahon, saying that under the former WWE chairman, there were talents who would never be treated like this:

“Vince was making these cuts too. There was always spring cleaning, think the difference is, like, Vince never would have asked anyone to take a pay cut. He would have either fired the person or they would have been somebody like the New Day, who he considered a national treasure — wouldn’t job out when he was trying to embarrass Road Dogg — and keep them forever because they should stay.”

We Can’t Have New Day Lose: Chris Dunn

Expanding on his comments about Road Dogg, Chris Dunn recalled the 2018 Survivor Series PPV that saw Raw and SmackDown brands facing off in various matches. He explained that McMahon decided to make SmackDown lose all matches to embarrass Road Dogg, who was the head writer of the show at the time. Though he made an exception for The New Day by putting them on the pre-show instead:

“Vince, in a meeting, decided SmackDown was going to lose every match on Survivor Series. And then we got to, I think the New Day match came up when New Day was on SmackDown. So it was like, we can’t have New Day lose, let’s put them on kickoff.”

Dunn explained that the New Day win did not count for their brand as they were on the pre-show. Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon opened next Monday’s episode, celebrating a clean sweep over the rival brand after winning all matches on the main card.

Wrestling Veteran Says WWE Release Was ‘One of The Best Days’ Of His Life

Brian Myers has opened up about his WWE release.

The former Curt Hawkins recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. He talked about things such as the origin of his WWE name, being paired with Edge, and more.

During the talk, the former Tag Team Champion was also asked about his first WWE release and if he thought he saw any path back to the company at the time. Brian Myers claimed that the release was one of the best days of his life because he was miserable in the company:

“Yes, one of the best days of my life. Because I was so young, they weren’t using me for, at that point, almost a year and a half. That’s why I started the school, because I was just miserable. They would not call me for two months, three months at a time, and they’d be like, You’re not coming to Raw.”

I Couldn’t Have Been Happier: Brian Myers

Brian Myers had been a regular on WWE programming between his main roster debut in 2007 to 2012. The company started using him less and less in 2013 however, and he had only wrestled 6 matches in 2014 before the company released him in June that year.

According to the TNA wrestling star, he just wasn’t comfortable with being paid to sit at home. The 41-year-old noted that he started taking bookings immediately after his release and it made him very happy:

“It just wasn’t comfortable. Plus, when you love something and you’re being paid to not participate in it, it’s just not a great feeling. So I was thrilled, I got fired on Thursday, I wrestled Friday, Saturday on these shindies in New Jersey, and I couldn’t have been happier. That said, my goal was to get back, and I did it two years to the date, I want to say it was.”

The wrestling veteran would return to the company in July 2016. He had another 4-year run with the promotion before being released in April 2020. He returned to TNA wrestling after this and has been a part of the promotion since then.

Brooke Hogan has made serious allegations regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of her father, WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan. During an appearance on The Bubba the Love Sponge Show, she claimed that a key witness has disappeared.

Brooke appeared alongside attorney Jay to discuss ongoing frustrations surrounding Hogan’s autopsy, death certificate, estate matters, and the handling of information following his July 2025 passing at age 71. While Hogan’s death was officially ruled natural causes related to a heart attack, Brooke made it clear she still has unanswered questions.

According to Brooke, the nurse who was allegedly present when Hogan died has since vanished and cannot be contacted.

“If you wanted to go and get information on what happened that day or ask the nurse, he’s disappeared,” Brooke said. “He’s scared. You can’t get a hold of him. Nobody can get a hold of this guy that was there.”

Questions About Autopsy and Death Certificate

Brooke also raised concerns about the handling of Hogan’s autopsy and death certificate. She stated she still has not received access to the autopsy report and alleged that changes are continuing to be made nearly a year later.

“Why are we making changes to an autopsy after the guy’s been dead for ten, eleven months?” Brooke asked. “If it’s so on the up and up, shut me up. Just show it to me.”

Brooke additionally questioned why Hogan’s private doctor allegedly signed the death certificate instead of the emergency room physician on duty at the time. Attorney Jay, who described himself as a medical malpractice lawyer with 30 years of experience, said the situation raised concerns from his perspective.

“I’ve never heard of a situation where the doctor whose patient died came in and did the time of death,” Jay stated.

Brooke also discussed stepping away from her role as co-executor of Hogan’s estate and criticized the recent Netflix documentary about her father, claiming it avoided the more difficult parts of his life story. Despite the claims, no official evidence has emerged disputing the ruling that Hogan died of natural causes.

She previously spoke about visiting her father’s body and has raised questions about police footage that could change the narrative surrounding his death.

Former AEW Champion Announces Extended Hiatus From The Company

Samoa Joe announced that he is taking an extended hiatus from AEW during the May 27th episode of Collision. The announcement came during a backstage segment featuring The Opps, Joe’s faction that includes Katsuyori Shibata, HOOK, and Anthony Bowens.

The two-time AEW Champion revealed he will be stepping away for a few months, noting that Hollywood has come calling once again. He instructed the group to “keep things in order” while he’s gone, making it clear this is a temporary exit rather than a permanent departure from the promotion.

    Twisted Metal Connection

While no official project has been confirmed, Joe has previously taken time away from AEW to work on the Twisted Metal series on Peacock, where he portrays Sweet Tooth. The series has already been renewed for a third season and is currently expected to premiere in 2027.

Joe’s Hollywood commitments have periodically taken him away from in-ring action throughout his AEW tenure. His most recent absence for the Twisted Metal series demonstrated the promotion’s willingness to accommodate outside projects for talents while maintaining their role within the company.

The Opps will continue their mission during Joe’s absence, with the veteran wrestler expected to return to AEW programming once his filming commitments are complete.

MJF’s First Title Defence Confirmed After Double or Nothing

MJF has got his first challenger.

Tonight’s episode of Dynamite saw multiple challengers making a claim at the AEW World Title following Max’s victory at the Double or Nothing PPV. The most notable name on the list was Kevin Knight, who turned heel at the show on Sunday after attacking Darby Allin.

Among all the challengers, it was Rush who earned the first shot at the new champion. The former Don Callis Family member was involved in a fatal four-way match at the show, also featuring Brian Cage, Lio Rush, and Orange Cassidy.

Rocky Romero and Lance Archer interfered in the bout early on. A returning star then took out Orange Cassidy. All the chaos allowed Rush to pin Lio for the victory.

The Mexican star then confronted the World Champion during his celebration segment later in the night. Rush reminded MJF that he came very close to beating him before. After some more back and forth, the Salt of the Earth announced that he will defend his title against the 37-year-old on Dynamite next week.

Next week’s episode of the Wednesday Night show will also feature the quarterfinal of the Women’s Owen Hart Cup involving Alex Windsor. Windsor was originally supposed to face Willow Nightingale at Double or Nothing before the TBS Champion’s injury, and she will now be facing a Wild card entry in the tournament.

AEW Tag Team Breaks Up On Dynamite

Kevin Knight turned on tag team partner Mike Bailey during the May 27 episode of AEW Dynamite in Philadelphia, ending their partnership with a brutal attack. The betrayal came after Knight addressed his controversial actions at Double or Nothing.

Knight opened the Wednesday Night show, explaining his attack on Darby Allin following Allin’s AEW World Championship loss to MJF at the pay-per-view. He claimed he warned Allin not to let AEW down and argued he should have been headlining the event instead. Knight reminded fans he was the last wrestler to defeat MJF earlier this year.

The Philadelphia crowd immediately turned on Knight with loud chants before Bailey walked to the ring to confront his partner. Bailey attempted to calm the situation, telling Knight that his ambition was both “his best and worst trait.” He called the attack on Allin a mistake and encouraged Knight to apologize before things escalated further.

Instead, Knight responded with violence. As Bailey turned his back, Knight blasted him with a microphone shot before continuing the assault in the ring. Knight then walked away, leaving his former partner lying in the ring.

The betrayal cemented Knight’s heel turn and dramatically shifted his role in AEW. The 29-year-old currently holds the TNT Championship, while the partnership with Bailey has completely imploded following the attack.

AEW Star Returns To Dynamite After Four-Month Absence

A wrestler made an unexpected return during the May 27 episode of AEW Dynamite in Philadelphia, stepping back onto television for the first time since a serious injury halted his momentum earlier this year. The comeback happened during a chaotic match and immediately added more fuel to an already crowded ringside brawl.

AEW star Jake Doyle officially resurfaced after being sidelined since January with a torn bicep. Before the injury, the performer had quickly become part of a major storyline and looked poised for a breakout run in AEW’s tag division.

Return During Chaotic AEW Dynamite Match

The return came late in a four-way match featuring Rush, Brian Cage, Lio Rush, and Orange Cassidy. The match had already spiraled into chaos after Rocky Romero and Lance Archer appeared through the crowd to target Cassidy.

As Archer blocked an Orange Punch attempt, Doyle suddenly emerged and attacked Cassidy from behind. The surprise appearance shifted the momentum completely, with multiple wrestlers overwhelming Cassidy and Roderick Strong before dragging them away from ringside. In the end, Rush picked up the victory, pinning Lio Rush:

Jake Doyle had been absent from TV since Jan 28, when he suffered a torn bicep during an AEW World Tag Team Championship match. Teaming with Mark Davis against FTR, the injury reportedly occurred while taking an apron DDT from Cash Wheeler. Officials quickly removed the wrestler from the match once the severity became clear, and surgery followed shortly afterward.

The Don Callis Family member had joined AEW in early January, only a few weeks before his unfortunate injury. The pairing with Mark Davis gave the faction another powerhouse presence, and AEW appeared ready to push the wrestler before injury forced a hard reset.

Now back on Dynamite, the return suggests AEW may be ready to pick up where that story left off.

Never Been Hunter’s Favorite: Ex-WWE Star Says Triple H Didn’t Understand His Character

Carlito believes Triple H never understood his character.

The former WWE star was the most recent guest on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast. Among other things, the former US Champion also discussed his abrupt exit from the company last year in June when his contract expired. The wrestling veteran revealed that the officials had actually offered him a three-year deal in 2023, but he opted to sign for two years only because he wasn’t sure how his run would go.

Chris mentioned that being part of the Judgment Day gave him a lot more to do on WWE TV, saying he doesn’t know where the 47-year-old would fit on the show otherwise. Carlito agreed with the sentiment, suggesting that the current creative head Triple H is not a fan of his character:

“Me neither. Yeah, I don’t know, because I’ve never been Hunter’s favorite. I don’t think he gets Carlito or the character. So it is what it is. But I was gonna make whatever I did work. So Judgment Day came by, and it was fun for me.”

Elsewhere in the session, Carlito also revealed that WWE didn’t actually have a plan for his storyline with Raquel Rodriguez and wished that the company had written him off TV with an angle instead of just pulling him from the programming without an explanation.

Apart from this, Carlito discussed celebrity involvement in wrestling, the difference between his first and second run with the company, and more. You can check out his full interview below:
