The Beast Incarnate came out on this week\’s episode of SmackDown coming live from the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. He was there to build his upcoming WrestlePalooza match with John Cena.

Before Lesnar could say anything about the bout, however, R-Truth made his entrance. He came out as his usual cheery self, interacting with the fans and rapping his way to the ring.

Truth said that he was here to welcome Brock before declaring that he ain\’t scared of the former UFC star anymore. Lesnar claimed that he doesn\’t know who Truth is.

Brock Lesnar Suffers A Wardrobe Malfunction

The former K-Kwik got the Beast to break character at one point when he told Brock that he was the brother of John Cena and introduced himself as Ron Cena.

After some more back and forth, Brock Lesnar ended up hitting Ron with an F5. The former world champion unexpectedly got his pants ripped open during this spot. Though Lesnar played it cool and even acknowledged the accident while making his way to the back.

Tonight\’s show also featured the return of Cody Rhodes who issued a challenge to Drew McIntyre for WrestlePalooza. You can check out what happened with Rhodes after SmackDown went off air here.

  • Watch: What Happened With Cody Rhodes After SmackDown Went Off Air

Cody Rhodes talked about his time away after SmackDown went off air.

This week\’s episode of the Blue Branded show came live from Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. The main event of the show saw Drew McIntyre taking on Randy Orton in a singles bout.

The two former world champions did not go easy on each other and The Viper got busted open the hard way during the bout. In the end, McIntyre was able to defeat Orton with a Claymore for the pin.

The Scottish Psychopath did not stop there, however, and he brought Randy out of the ring. Drew lined him up next to the announce desk to take him out for good. Before he could do so however, Cody Rhodes\’ music hit and the Undisputed WWE Champion made his return.

    What Happened After SmackDown

The American Nightmare fought off McIntyre with some punches and a Cody Cutter. As Drew retreated, the former AEW star took the mic and challenged the Scottish star for a match at the upcoming Wrestlepalooza PPV.

The show ended with Cody issuing the challenge but the WWE champion stayed around for a little bit longer. He cut a short promo talking about the birth of his new baby girl as well as his street fighter role.

The new face of WWE kissed the company\’s logo on the mat after finishing his promo, and then hyped up the crowd for a bit before finally leaving.

  • MVP Reveals One Type of Wrestling Tribalism He Can Relate To

MVP has named the one type of tribalism he can understand.

The AEW star recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. He talked about things such as being convicted for armed robbery early in his life, how he found wrestling during his time in the prison, his career in WWE, and more.

Talking about the rivalry between fans of different companies, MVP explained that people within the business do not feel the same way. He mentioned how he\’s made many friends in the industry over his career spanning more than 20 years and he doesn\’t understand people wanting someone to lose their job because of their hatred:

“I have friends and colleagues that work for all the wrestling companies. Why would you want somebody to lose their livelihood? I want all the wrestling companies to be successful, the more successful they are, the better it is for us, the wrestlers, and you, the fans. So I just don’t understand that mentality, that kind of almost pure hatred, the tribalism, between brands.\”

Though later on, the former US champion also revealed the one explanation for tribalism that he can relate to. MVP recalled the time before he entered the business and took pride in following companies outside of the mainstream options:

\”But one thing I do get, I do get the kids that want to be extra cool, [who say] ‘I don’t watch that mainstream stuff, dude, I watch the cool niche companies.’

Which I think that’s dope, because I was one of those guys before people knew what New Japan was. I was a tape trader.\”

The Hurt Syndicate star mentioned that WCW and WWE had some Japanese wrestlers on the roster but not many people were aware of how those talents had a whole career in their native countries before coming to America.

  • Watch: Former TNT Champion Turns Heel on Dynamite

The Death Riders have a new member.

AEW presented the last episode of Dynamite of their current residency from the 2300 Arena this week. The main event of the show saw The Opps and Brodido teaming up to take on Death Riders and The Young Bucks in a huge 10-man tag team match with the winners receiving $500,000.

The ending of the bout was very chaotic as expected with all the stars getting involved in the action and delivering one finishing move after another. The Young Bucks managed to steal the victory for their team in the end after using the ropes to get the pin on Bandido.

    Daniel Garcia Joins Death Riders?

The brothers tried to grab the cash and run away as the bell rang but Brody King chopped the bag out of their hands. Brodido then brawled them to the back, taking both teams away from the ringside.

Death Riders took the opportunity to beat up the Opps. They specifically went after Powerhouse Hobbs before Darby Allin came out to make the save. Just as Darby looked to take Mox out for good, however, Daniel Carcia came out of nowhere and attacked the Daredevil star.

Jon then got up and called for a chair. The chair was put in the middle, and the former TNT Champion delivered a brutal Curb Stomp to Allin on it. After a second Curb Stomp, Mox gave the order, and the Death Riders retreated to end the show, leaving a lot of questions behind.

  • Watch: Former WWE Star Makes Surprise NXT Return In Old Gimmick

    Another NXT homecoming.

The development brand is set to air its homecoming special from the Full Sail University campus next week. This week\’s episode of the show saw the return of several former NXT star in preparation for the special episode.

Perhaps the most unexpected return of the night was that of Tyler Breeze. This happened after Tavion Heights, representing the USA, defeated Ethan Page, who was representing Canada, in a flag match at the show.

Breeze was first shown on the big screen as Heights was celebrating his win on the ramp, and the former WWE star was then seen at the ringside.

Tyler had his selfie stick in his hand, and he entered the ring where Page was still lying after his defeat. Prince Pretty took a selfie with Page before the show went to commercial.

The company later announced that Breeze will be competing at the Homecoming special next week, challenging Ethan Page for the NXT North American Championship.

Tyler Breeze was part of the NXT roster from 2012 to 2015 before he debuted on the main roster. Breeze and his then tag team partner Fandango were released from thier contracts in 2021.

He was brought back almost immediately however, now working as a coach in the performance center as well as being the co-host of the UpUpDownDown channel.

Fatal Influence leader and the current NXT Women\’s Champion Jacy Jayne was not happy with her teammates over the loss, and she started berating them in the ring.

As Jayne called herself the greatest Women\’s Champion of the brand, however, Stephanie Vaquer made an appearance. She talked about how she is going to win the Women\’s title at Wrestlepalooza to prove that she\’s the greatest.

    Rhea Ripley Is Back

When Jayne pointed out that Vaquer was alone while she had her group, Stephanie asked if the NXT champion knew what time it was, and Tiffany Stratton came out.

The WWE Women’s Champion first listed all her accomplishments to make her own claim at being the greatest. Jacy then got on the mic and said that Stratton\’s return was like super seniors returning to high school to feel cool again.

The Buff Barbie Doll mentioned that The Mami will not be a fan of that analogy, and then came Rhea Ripley to a thunderous applause from the NXT crowd.

Ripley proposed a match between the two teams for the homecoming special next week, before they charged on Fatal Influence. The babyfaces sent the heels packing and stood tall to end the show.

  • Hall of Famer Reveals Scrapped Plans For John Cena Match During His Retirement Run

John Cena could have faced another former rival.

The Cenation Leader has wrestled a total of 12 matches in his retirement tour so far in 2025, squaring off against a number of his former opponents such as CM Punk and Randy Orton.

During a recent interview with Inside The Ring, RVD revealed that he was also supposed to be on the list. According to Mr. Monday Night, he was talking to the WWE officials about facing the Cenation Leader this year, before his latest injury killed those plans:

“Let me tell you this, I wanted to be one of the return matches for John Cena and his retirement tour. I was talking to them. There was a lot of interest; without giving away too many details, we were probably going to do it. Then I broke my heels.”

RVD and John Cena shared the ring on many occasions in the early 2000s. Their most famous encounter came at the One Night Stand PPV in 2006, where Cena defended the World Heavyweight Championship against the ECW original while battling a hostile crowd.

The former ECW champion suffered a double heel fracture back in April this year, which has kept him out of action ever since. He also provided a health update during the interview, saying that he\’s been seeing improvement but is nowhere near making an in-ring return.

  • Seth Rollins Challenged For WrestleMania 42 Match By Popular Music Star

A top music star is interested in a WWE match against Seth Rollins.

The last few years have seen celebrities like Bad Bunny and Jelly Roll making successful wrestling debuts and earning praise from fans after originally being brought in as guest stars by the company.

Rapper Post Malone has now joined this list. During a recent interview with GQ, he talked about attending the Clash In Paris PPV and expressed interest in facing Seth Rollins in a match at WrestleMania 42 next year:

“I did [attend a WWE show]. I think me and Seth Rollins got beef—you can put that on paper, too. Me, Seth Rollins. WrestleMania 2026.

Come on, baby. I’ve always wanted to do that. I figured if I had a different musculature and different career path, I would love to have been a WWE wrestler.”

Post Malone attended the Clash In Paris PPV last month while he was in the country for a concert with Jelly Roll. Both Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch traded words with the Grammy-nominated artist after the former\’s victory over CM Punk and others in the main event World title match at the show.

The Clash In Paris win seems to have come back to haunt Rollins and Lynch however, as it resulted in the return of AJ Lee at this week\’s SmackDown. You can check out how the wrestling world reacted to Lee\’s return here.

  • Nick Khan Reacts To Question About Crazy WWE Ticket Prices

Nick Khan was confronted about high ticket prices.

WWE has seen a massive increase in popularity in the last few years, with the promotion receiving more mainstream attention than ever and its stars being recognized and appreciated even outside of the usual wrestling circles.

The company has cashed in on this business opportunity big time, and they have been breaking all kinds of business records, including records for live gates in almost all markets in the past couple of years.

This change has come at a huge cost for longtime fans, however, as they have seen a steep increase in ticket prices in recent times. With WrestleMania 42 ticket packages going as high as $37,500 per person, more and more families have been finding themselves unable to attend shows together as they used to.

    Nick Khan Reacts

So when a fan unexpectedly ran into WWE President Nick Khan at the Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios recently, he did not forget to mention the high-ticket prices.

The WWE executive responded by first joking about how he thinks the prices were actually too cheap. When the fan mentioned that they were a little too steep for him, Khan can be heard saying that he understood:

This dude met Nick Khan and told him WWE Ticket Prices were too high?

    (alexanderrose_tv/tt) pic.twitter.com/EsPH9SQjhj

    — #WeWantCody (@WeWantCody_) September 5, 2025

While Nick Khan reacted to the fan\’s protest positively, the ticket prices are not expected to come down anytime soon. With the company\’s sustained popularity and the new leadership, the TKO policy seems to be clear about prioritizing the revenue over the accessibility of fans.

  • Latest On AJ Styles WWE Deal After Mystery Post

AJ Styles is not retiring just yet.

The Phenomenal One sparked rumors about his wrestling status early on Friday by posting a picture of an hourglass on social media, with his logo featured on the dipping sand.

The 48-year-old himself has expressed on numerous occasions that he does not plan to wrestle past 50, and he would say goodbye to his in-ring career before that.

These comments, coupled with the post, started rumors about the former WWE Champion potentially retiring from active competition in the coming weeks.

Latest On AJ Styles\’ WWE Contract

Fightful Select provided an update on the contract of AJ Styles after these talks picked up. They report that his current deal which was extended for one year, is now expected to expire sometime around February 2026.

This puts the potential end of his WWE run right in the middle of the 2026 Royal Rumble from Saudi Arabia and WrestleMania 42 from Las Vegas.

Styles has continued performing at a high level despite his age, and the officials hope to retain him past his current deal. The officials under TKO have adapted the policy of renewing deals at the last minute, however, so it\’s unlikely that the talks for the same will begin this far in advance.

The wrestling legend\’s birthday comes in June, so he\’ll have more than a year before his self-determined age limit after the current contract expires, and it\’s possible the officials will be able to convince him to stick around for one more year.

  • Chris Jericho Directly Addresses WWE Return Rumors

Chris Jericho has commented on a potential WWE return.

The recent AEW absence of the former World Champion has given fuel to rumor mills, and there has been a lot of talk of Y2J potentially returning to the Endeavor-owned promotion once his deal with Tony Khan\’s company expires.

Jericho himself was asked about the possibility directly during a recent interview with the Daily Mail at Halloween Horror Nights. The Man of 1,004 Holds first discussed how the inception of AEW is the best thing that could happen to the wrestling business:

“The best thing that can happen to wrestling is AEW and the fact that there are two huge promotions that you can choose from just makes it better for the guys, makes it better for the fans, and everybody in between.\”

For A Long While: Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho then explained that he wouldn\’t be opposed to a WWE return somewhere down the line, but claimed that he won\’t be leaving AEW anytime soon:

\”I’m not going anywhere for a long while. I’m still with AEW for right now. Would I go back to WWE? I wouldn’t be opposed to it.

We just have to see what happens. The best thing that can happen is to have two great teams that you can play for, and that just makes everything bigger and more exciting,”

Reports suggest Chris Jericho\’s current deal expires sometime before the year ends. With his continued absence from AEW TV, it\’s unlikely that speculations about his future will stop anytime soon.

  • Venue For John Cena\’s Final Match Revealed (Report)

WWE has seemingly shifted John Cena\’s retirement match to a new venue.

It was reported earlier this year that the company was planning for The Cenation Leader\’s final appearance as an active wrestler to be in his hometown arena of TD Garden in Boston.

Early on Friday, however, the company announced that the 17-time world champion will be making his final Boston appearance a month earlier, on Monday, November 10. They also confirmed John Cena\’s final New York appearance for a Madison Square Garden show on November 17.

During the talk, the former TNA World Champion also provided an update on his health. Kurt Angle claimed that he feels pretty good overall, and the only thing that gives him trouble is his motor skills resulting from various neck injuries:

“Yeah, I feel pretty good. The only thing that bothers me now is I have motor skill problems. My hands shake ‘cause my neck is so bad. And there’s nothing I can do about it.\”

    There\’s Just Nothing: Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle mentioned that he went to a doctor to explore a potential disc replacement surgery. An MRI, however, revealed that he didn\’t have any discs in the vertebrae as they have all fused together and there is nothing they can do about it:

\”And so I have a hard time, I get pain going down my arms. My pinkies, I can’t feel either one of my pinkies. They’re gone.

So, I just have a lot of functional problems. You know, it just sucks. There’s nothing I can do. I tried stem cell; I tried disc replacement. There’s just nothing. I have to deal with it.\”

Though later, the former world champion, who underwent double knee replacement surgery back in 2022, claimed that he would take neck issues over bad knees.

\”I feel not too bad all things considered. I don\’t have to wonder when I wake up what I did for a living. You know, I\’m sore but I\’m not as sore as I thought I\’d be thanks to the hip and knee replacement. Then you know I did lose 99 pounds.

I\’ve gained some of it back on but I\’m still walking better than I was 15 years ago I would say. I actually once in a while pass people in the airport when I\’m walking. So I\’m doing better than I thought I\’d be doing.\”

During the interview, Mick Foley was also asked which character he would debut as if he had to start wrestling today. The 60-year-old said that he would start wrestling as Cactus Jack because it\’s closest to his real-life persona.

“It was funny because I wasn’t watching at the time. I looked at my phone and there were 900 Twitter notifications.

I’m like, ‘Uh oh, what did I do? Someone hacked my pictures? Let’s see.’ I got on and saw that. That is so cool that he did it. I had no idea it was happening.\”

“He’s helped me immensely through my entire career with advice and times where you’re frustrated and going, ‘I need to chill out because I’m losing my mind.’

He’ll go, ‘Let’s go grab dinner and chat about it. You’re in too deep. You’re too close. Back out. Realize this is a job and a character. Don’t let it affect you right now in this moment. You can think about things and work creatively, but don’t let those frustrations carry over to your life. Learn to separate.’ He’s very good with that.\”

  • Ronda Rousey Explains Why She Refused To Tap To Becky Lynch

Ronda Rousey has confirmed some reports about Becky Lynch.

The two women started feuding in late 2018, and they were originally supposed to face each other at the Survivor Series PPV in November that year. After Lynch suffered an injury during the build to this bout, however, Ronda ended up facing Charlotte Flair at the event instead.

During a recent appearance on The Lapsed Fan podcast, Ronda Rousey talked about this feud and confirmed some rumors from the time. The former UFC star admitted that she refused to tap out to Becky Lynch.

The former WWE star claimed that her mother AnnMaria De Mars, who was the first American woman to win a gold medal at the World Judo Championship would have disowned her if she tapped on TV:

“It was proposed that I tap out to her armbar at Survivor Series, and I said, ‘My mother would disown me.’ Anytime anyone’s actually ever arm-barred me in real life, I’ve just let them dislocate it and I limp arm out. That’s why my ligaments are all f*cked up in this arm.

So, I’m not gonna do it. Anytime anyone ever choked me out in competition, I just went out, and I don’t tap. I no tap motherf*cker. That’s how it is.\”

Ronda Rousey later mentioned that the only person she ever allowed to submit her was fellow MMA star Shayna Baszler, who defeated the former champion at SummerSlam 2023.

Becky Lynch would finally get to face Ronda in the main event of WrestleMania 35 in a triple threat also involving Flair. The Man would go on to win the bout with a  backslide pin on Rousey.

During the same interview, the 38-year-old also made some remarks about Alexa Bliss that have caused uproar among the wrestling community. You can check out Bliss\’ response to it here.

  • WWE Veteran Believes AJ Lee Will Be Ready To Compete In Her Return

    More AJ Lee talk.

During a recent appearance on Busted Open, wrestling veteran Natalya joined the conversation about a potential AJ Lee return. She was asked if the former Divas Champion would be in ring shape if she did make a comeback, and Natalya responded positively:

“I think yes. I think she will be able to go. But the biggest thing is that you cannot — Becky needs to have her ass kicked and I think that if A.J. really — if she’s really gonna stand up for (CM) Punk… If I saw my husband getting slapped by Becky Lynch, Becky Lynch would be having her ass handed to her.\”

    She Looked Jacked: Natalya

Natalya mentioned there would be an emotional charge in the person wanting to come back for revenge or redemption that would stand out above everything. Though the current WWE star, who also runs the new version of the Hart Family Dungeon claimed that she has no idea if AJ Lee is actually training for a return:

\”I would say, in my personal, professional opinion, I think she is ready to go. Yeah, absolutely, but again, I don’t know where people are training, I don’t know where people’s bodies are at.

I saw a picture of her a couple months ago. She looked jacked. Again, I don’t know what she’s been doing behind the scenes because she does live a very private life.\”

CM Punk has teased an appearance on this Friday\’s SmackDown emanating from his hometown of Chicago. Many believe it\’ll be the show where Lee\’s return is officially confirmed.

  • Alexa Bliss Seemingly Responds To Ronda Rousey\’s Bizarre Rant

Alexa Bliss has seemingly responded to Ronda Rousey.

The former UFC star went on a bizarre rant during a recent interview with The Lapsed Fan about her time with WWE. She specifically questioned the decision to put her in a feud with Alexa Bliss after her WrestleMania 34 debut, only because Bliss was the most popular star on the roster:

“The fact that they had me fighting Alexa Bliss at all was f*cking ridiculous, and you wanna know why they had me against Alexa Bliss? Because she had the most merch sales at the time… Like, what the f*ck!? That’s your decision-making process?”

    Alexa Bliss Loves The Business

The Goddess seemingly responded to this rant from her old rival on Twitter early on Thursday. Alexa Bliss sent out a short tweet saying that she loves the wrestling business:

The current WWE star was not the only one who responded to Ronda Rousey\’s remark. AEW star MJF also took shots at the former UFC star for not understanding the business decision.

Ronda Rousey challenged Nia Jax for the Raw Women\’s Championship at the 2018 Money In The Bank PPV, in her first match since WrestleMania 34. Alexa cashed in her MITB contract won earlier in the to night to walk away with the title.

Bliss would then defend the title against Ronda at SummerSlam that year. She dropped the belt in a match that lasted less than 5 minutes, and many praised Alexa for being able to hide Ronda\’s inexperience in the ring.

  • The Undertaker Recalls Vince McMahon Going \’Batsh*t Crazy\’ Over Botched Finish

That\’s me. Son of Abyss. I just imagined it like Abyss and a secret partner working against two of Eric Bischoff\’s guys.

I would be the secret partner, come down in the Abyss mask. I just imagined Eric Bischoff in the middle of the ring going, \’Son of Abyss, Son of Abyss.\’ That\’s where I have to say with all due respect to Austin 3:16, Steve, you\’re darn lucky the Son of Abyss shirts never hit the market.\”
