  • Watch: Stephanie McMahon Backstage Reaction To Hall of Fame Announcement

Stephanie McMahon was genuinely surprised at her Hall of Fame announcement.

The Undertaker made an unannounced appearance at the WrestlePalooza PPV tonight. The Dead Man came out in his American Badass gimmick right before the main event of the show.

Instead of going to the ring, however, he stopped at the ringside where Stephanie McMahon was sitting in the crowd. The WWE legend then announced the female star as the first inductee in the 2026 class of WWE Hall of Fame.

Her reaction at the news showed that Stephanie was genuinely surprised by the reveal. Triple H later posted a backstage video of his interaction with his wife after this segment, where McMahon can be seen getting emotional:

The whole segment was reminiscent of the announcement of Triple H\’s induction into the 2025 Hall of Fame. Both Undertaker and Shawn Michaels surprised The Game with it during a town hall meeting before this year\’s Royal Rumble.

In the build-up to the induction, the WWE Creative Head had noted how he wished he had more time to savor the moment instead of being busy with the preparations for WrestleMania 41. This is likely the reason they announced the induction of Stephanie so far out in advance.

Stephanie McMahon made her WWE debut in 1999, and she has been involved with the company in various on-screen and backstage roles since then. She is credited as one of the leading voices of the Women\’s Revolution among other things.

  • Big Champion vs. Champion Matches Confirmed For Crown Jewel: Perth

Two big clashes have been confirmed for the Crown Jewel: Perth event.

WWE presented the first PPV of their new ESPN deal in WrestlePalooza from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, tonight. One of the matches on the card was IYO SKY facing Stephanie Vaquer for the vacant Women\’s World Championship.

Right before this bout, WWE Women\’s Champion Tiffany Stratton was shown in the crowd. Michael Cole mentioned during this spot that she has a vested interest in the title match, because both women\’s champions will face each other for the Crown Jewel Championship at the company\’s next PPV event from Perth, Australia.

This wasn\’t the only big announcement during the night. World Champion Seth Rollins confronted WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in the WrestlePalooza post-show, confirming that they will also square off at the Crown Jewel event set for October 11:

Cody picked up a victory over Drew McIntyre to retain his title at tonight\’s PPV. Seth Rollins, on the other hand, competed in a mixed tag match where his title was not on the line. So the clash between the two is confirmed after tonight.

Tiffany Stratton however, has a scheduled title defence against Nia Jax and Jade Cargill at next Friday\’s episode of SmackDown. She will have to overcome this challenge before her match with the new Women\’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer can be considered official.

  • Watch: Cody Rhodes Confronted By Seth Rollins At WrestlePalooza Post Show

    A big confrontation after WrestlePalooza.

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes picked up a big victory at WWE\’s first ESPN PPV tonight. He defeated Drew McIntyre to retain his title in the main event of the show.

The World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, on the other hand, did not defend his title at the event. He instead teamed up with his wife, Becky Lynch, to take on a returning AJ Lee and CM Punk. The Architect ended up suffering a loss in this bout.

The American Nightmare appeared on the WrestlePalooza post-show after his victory. Interestingly, he was interrupted by The Visionary. The two champions came face to face and raised their titles before Rollins retreated.

This confrontation came after WWE announced that Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes will face each other for the Crown Jewel Championship at the event of the same name from Perth, Australia, on October 11.

The two world champions have a lot of history together. Rollins was Cody\’s first opponent upon his big WWE return at WrestleMania 38, leading to a series of matches. The former Shield member then also helped the AEW co-founder to end Roman Reigns\’ historic title reign at WrestleMania 40.

Michael Cole confirmed on commentary earlier in the night that the two Women\’s World Champions will also face each other at the next WWE PPV.

  • Watch: What Happened With Cody Rhodes After WrestlePalooza Went Off Air

Cody Rhodes made an interesting reference after WrestlePalooza went off air.

WWE presented the first PPV of their ESPN deal tonight from the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The show featured big names such as Brock Lesnar, John Cena, and AJ Lee in action.

The main event of the PPV saw Cody Rhodes defending his Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre in a physical match. This came after Drew put Cody out of action for a few weeks with a brutal kick through the table.

The Scottish Warrior tried to recreate the spot to win the title at the PPV. Cody escaped at the last minute this time, however, leaving his opponent to take the fall.

    What Happened After WrestlePalooza

The damage ended up costing Drew the match as his legs gave out while trying to deliver a Claymore kick after this spot. The defending champion took advantage of the situation and he then won the match using a Cody Cutter and Cross Rhodes.

McIntyre was seen being attended by medical staff at the ringside while Cody celebrated his victory in the ring to end the main broadcast. The Scottish Star continued selling his injury after the PPV and was helped to the back after the show.

Cody Rhodes on the other hand, stayed around to cut a promo about the start of the ESPN era. He first thanked the fans. Rhodes then claimed that they strategically chose to hold this PPV in the US, potentially referencing the announcement of WrestleMania coming to Saudi Arabia in 2027.

  • Bryan Danielson Names The Most Overrated AEW Wrestler

Bryan Danielson has named one AEW star he thinks is overrated.

The former AEW World Champion recently had an interview with UNSCRIPTED by Josh Mansour. He talked about things such as the recent Raja Jackson incident, becoming a full-time commentator for AEW and more.

When asked who he thinks is the most overrated wrestler of current times, Bryan quickly named MJF. When asked about the lack of hesitation on his part in naming the Salt of the Earth, Danielson explained why the choice is very easy for him:

“It’s easy to say because I can say it in a way that is in story because he’s the most hated person in AEW. Then, I can get him, if he hears this, to question, ‘Does Bryan actually think that about me?’ Which is a double win for me.”

Bryan Danielson has previously worked with MJF on a program when the latter was the AEW Champion. The American Dragon challenged the then-champion in a 60 Minute Iron Man match at Revolution 2023, but he ended up losing the bout.

MJF is scheduled to face Mark Briscoe in a Tables \’n\’ Tacks match at All Out today. Bryan who retired from full time competition last year, is not expected to wrestle at the PPV.

  • Update On Roman Reigns Street Fighter Filming Schedule

Roman Reigns will be free soon.

Both the Tribal Chief and his arch-rival Cody Rhodes took time off from WWE recently for filming their roles in the upcoming Street Fighter movie.

The American Nightmare, who holds the Undisputed WWE title, returned to the company last week to build his WrestlePalooza match. Since then people have been wondering about the status of the Head of The Table.

PWInsider provided an update on the status of the former Champion ahead of tonight\’s PPV and revealed that Roman Reigns is expected to wrap up filming towards the end of September.

This means that the Big Dog is unlikely to make an appearance at WWE\’s ESPN debut show tonight, despite Triple H teasing some big surprises for the PLE.

Though it also confirms that Reigns will be free to show up on WWE TV at the start of next month, just in time for the Crown Jewel: Perth event set for October 11.

It\’s unknown if the company is actually planning to book him for the Australian PPV but it seems unlikely that he will miss the Survivor Series: WarGames event following the Perth show in November. So we should see the former world champion returning to TV in the coming weeks one way or the other.

  • Jimmy Uso Makes Bold Claim About Jey Uso\’s Success

Jimmy Uso has an interesting claim about his brother.

The last couple years has seen Jey Uso reaching a new level in his career and becoming a certified main eventer. One of the biggest reasons behind his success has been his electrifying entrance, which forces everyone present to get on their feet and enjoy the whole thing together.

During a recent panel appearance to promote the WrestlePalooza PPV, Jimmy Uso talked about the success of his brother. He interestingly claimed that Jey\’s entrance is now bigger than people such as The Rock and The Undertaker:

For me, I think now it\’s all about their present, it\’s all about being present in there. You see, he’s got the hottest intro in the game.

I sit here today and never thought it would get bigger than The Undertaker. Yeah, I said it. I thought this entrance would never get bigger than The Rock. Yeah, I said it.\”

Jimmy Uso later explained that Jey Uso brings hope to people with his entrance. He also said that The Usos are now finally getting the respect they\’ve been searching for all their career as the fans yeet with them in every city they go to.

The Usos are set to reunite as a team after 6 months at the WresltePalooza PPV this Saturday night. The duo will square off against the team of Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker in a tag team match at the show.

  • Toni Storm Explains How Much Creative Freedom Tony Khan Gives Her In AEW

Toni Storm has revealed how much freedom she gets from Tony Khan.

The AEW Women\’s World Champion recently had an interview with TVInsider to promote All Out. She talked about things such as potentially sharing the screen with her husband, her crazy travel schedule, potential future movie roles and more.

During the talk, Storm was also asked about the nuances of her presentation on TV and how much say she has in her own gimmick. The Australian star provided an insight on her relationship with the AEW President, saying that Tony Khan actually has to say no to a lot of her eccentric ideas:

\”I think you might actually be surprised. There have been a lot of ideas shot down. A lot of wild ideas that our President Tony Khan has been just horrified and disgusted by. He really has to work hard to keep it all together, God bless him.\”

Toni Storm mentioned how they have a massive team consisting of people from both All Elite Wrestling and WBD behind-the-scenes and Tony Khan is constantly working with all of them. She then also cleared up a misconception about RJ City\’s involvement with her own storyline as well as his overall backstage role:

\”There is a misconception as well that RJ City…I don’t know if you’ve heard of him. Probably not, but there is this misconception that he is the brain behind this whole thing.

I must put the rumors to rest. He does absolutely nothing. I think they just keep him around so if something goes wrong, we have someone to blame.\”

The Women\’s Champion later reiterated that she does not have as much creative freedom as people think and Tony Khan has been \’horrified\’ with a lot of her ideas that he has rejected.

The All Out PPV this Saturday will see Storm defending her Women\’s World Title in a Fatal Four-Way against Jamie Hayter, Kris Statlander and Thekla. The show will have a special start time of 3PM ET.

  • WrestlePalooza Main Event Made Official

WWE has confirmed the main event of WrestlePalooza.

With stars such as Brock Lesnar and AJ Lee set for their in-ring return on the show this weekend, there had been a lot of talk on which match would main event the first WWE PPV on ESPN.

Pat McAfee on his show this week first confirmed that the match between the Beast Incarnate and John Cena will officially open the ESPN era of the company.

This week\’s episode of SmackDown then featured a contract signing segment between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

While warning Paul Heyman to stay away from this segment, General Manager Nick Aldis said that it was for the main event of WrestlePalooza.

The same was repeated during the segment between Cody and Drew that closed the final episode of SmackDown before the WWE PLE, confirming that it will be the match that will be closing the show this Saturday.

This is an interesting reveal as it means that AJ Lee\’s in-ring return match also featuring CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch will be placed somewhere in the middle of the PPV card.

WWE Creative Head Triple H recently talked about the WrestlePalooza PPV as well and promised surprises for the fans. You can check out what those surprises could be here.

  • Watch: Brock Lesnar Teases Big Reunion Before WrestlePalooza

Brock Lesnar might be reuniting with an old friend soon.

The Beast Incarnate made an appearance on this week\’s episode of SmackDown, before his scheduled match against John Cena at WrestlePalooza tomorrow night.

The former UFC Champion came out during the opening moments of the show as Michael Cole was heading to the back to take his interview before the PLE match. Lesnar scooped Cole up and marched into the ring.

As Brock looked to do some damage to the WWE announcer, his partner Corey Graves got into the ring, trying to calm the Beast down. The former World Champion, however, ended up taking out his anger on Graves instead, and he delivered a big F5 to the former NXT star.

Brock Lesnar then destroyed some things at the ringside before getting into the ring again and delivering another F5 to Graves. The former champion then finally headed to the back, where he ran into Paul Heyman.

The advocate was accompanied by Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. The two former partners smiled at each other and Lesnar told Heyman that they \’should talk\’ before walking away.

Heyman last worked with Lesnar leading up to Brock\’s WrestleMania 38 match with Roman Reigns. Paul had helped the Tribal Chief beat Lesnar at the time. It\’s unknown what a potential reunion between the two means for Heyman\’s partnership with Seth Rollins but we should get an idea in coming weeks.

  • Tiffany Stratton Title Defence Set But Nor For WrestlePalooza

Tiffany Stratton will be defending her title soon, but not at WrestlePalooza.

People had been worried about the status of the current Women\’s Champion after she was pulled from her scheduled NXT Homecoming match earlier this week.

Some leaked merchandise then revealed that the company was originally planning for her to defend her title at the PPV this Saturday in a big triple threat match, making fans speculate about her health some more.

The Buff Barbie Doll finally put these concerns to rest when she made an appearance on this week\’s episode of SmackDown. The Women\’s Champion interrupted Nia Jax, who was cutting a promo on her former partner.

As Tiffany tried to get into the ring to confront Jax, the security came down running to stop the fight. Jade Cargill then made an appearance as well and started taking out the security guards until Nick Aldis interfered.

The SmackDown General Manager warned the three stars about consequences if they got into a fight. He then announced the expected Triple Threat Championship match for next week\’s episode of the Blue Branded show.

This isn\’t the only match officially announced for the September 26 show. Michin and B-Fab are also scheduled to team up to face Kiana James and Women\’s US Champion Giulia on the same night.

  • Watch: What Happened With El Grande Americano After SmackDown Went Off Air

El Grande Americano made an appearance after SmackDown.

WWE presented the final episode of the Blue Branded show before tomorrow\’s WrestlePalooza PPV from the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio, tonight.

The show featured a number of big names, including Brock Lesnar. The Beast opened the night with a destructive segment before his PLE match with John Cena, and he ended up taking out Corey Graves with a couple of F5s.

The main event of the episode was a contract signing segment between Drew McIntyre and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. McIntyre got the upper hand in the inevitable brawl after the deal was signed. The show went off air with the Scottish Warrior laying out his WrestlePalooza opponent.

    What Happened After SmackDown

    https://youtu.be/5vjDxPOH3os

Raw\’s El Grande Americano made a surprise appearance on SmackDown for a match after the broadcast ended, and the ringside area was cleared following the destructive main event.

Ludwig Kaiser, in the mask, teamed with Judgment Day\’s Finn Balor for a tag team match against the duo of Penta and AJ Styles. The two teams brawled on the entrance ramp before the match officially went underway.

The ending of the bout saw Balor getting in a brawl with Penta when Finn tried to stop the masked star from tagging into the match. AJ then hit the Styles Clash on El Grande to win the match for his team.

  • Triple H Promises WrestlePalooza Surprises Amid Reported Returns

Triple H is making big promises for WrestlePalooza.

The PPV this Saturday is going to be the first show of WWE\’s new partnership with ESPN. Both Brock Lesnar and AJ Lee are set to make their in-ring return at the event and many other big names are also advertised for this PLE.

Though the WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H is suggesting that they have some tricks hidden up their sleeve as well. The Game talked about the PPV during his appearance on ESPN\’s Get Up, and claimed that fans can expected a spectacle filled with surprises this weekend:

“Nobody does big events like WWE, with possibly the exception of ESPN. What you guys do, the hype that you put around it— shows like this, coming up here and having the honor of being here with you.

All of this, First Take, ESPN, it builds those events to be bigger than anything. Then, we deliver on them bigger than anybody. Expect spectacle, expect surprises, expect to have a lot of fun and ESPN is going to deliver.”

    Potential WrestlePalooza Returns

While Triple H did not reveal many details on what kind of surprises fans can expect, reports from different sources have revealed a couple of potential returns that could take place at the PLE.

The latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that former World Champion Gunther is expected back on TV soon. Similarly a WWE source has told Fightful Select that Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio is also gearing up for a return.

The Ring General has not been seen on WWE TV since he dropped the World Heavyweight Championship to CM Punk at SummerSlam last month. Seth Rollins ended up cashing in his MITB contract on Punk right after the Gunther match.

Mysterio on the other hand has not wrestled since April this year due to multiple injuries. He was present for the Worlds Collide event earlier this month where Rey presented the AAA Mega Championship to his son Dominik Mysterio.

  • Ex-WWE Star Details Tiring Creative Process Under Vince McMahon

An former WWE star has shared the difference between WWE and TNA creative processes.

The duo of Cassie Lee & Jessica McKay, collectively known as The IInspiration recently had an interview with TMZ Sport. The current TNA stars talked about things such as their childhood wrestling crushes, setting boundaries for fans at Meet & Greet events and more.

The tag team formerly known as The IIconics in WWE also detailed the difference in the creative process of their former and current wrestling home. Cassie Lee who was known as Peyton Royce in the Endeavor owned promotion, explained that TNA officials trust them to deliver a message as it fits their character:

“I think that’s one of the reasons why we have so much fun at TNA, they just trust us. When we are able to cut a promo, or if we are doing a backstage segment, they just trust that we know ourselves well enough to deliver the message in a way that we truly would.\”

Outside An office For Six Hours: Cassie Lee

She then went on to explain how things were a lot more complicated in WWE. According to Lee, they had to get approval from higher ups for any and all changes they felt were needed back then:

\”It was somewhat of a battle at WWE when we were still there where, like, one little word would have to be approved and that would take an hour to get approval and it’s like, do you go wait outside of an office for six hours to see if you can get this line changed because it doesn’t really fit us?\”

The IIconics were part of the WWE roster from 2015 to 2021 starting their run in NXT. They were called up to SmackDown in 2018 and had a run with the Women\’s tag titles before their release during the COVID era.

Notably, the two only got to work under the Vince McMahon regime on main roster and many current stars have said that they have a lot more freedom since Triple H took over the creative.

  • Tony Khan Comments On Counter Programming Saudi WrestleMania

Tony Khan is seemingly planning to fill the void of WrestleMania 43.

WWE has made a deal with Saudi Arabia to bring the Show of Shows to the Middle Eastern country in 2027. This will mark the first time the company\’s biggest PPV is not held in the North American continent.

During a recent media call to promote the 2025 All Out PPV, the AEW President was asked about potentially producing an event in the US around the same time to counter program WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia. Tony Khan replied positively saying that they\’re going to run a huge event in spring of 2027:

“I have a lot of interest in it. I can promise we’re going to run a huge event in the spring of 2027. I think spring 2027 is going to be a great time for AEW.\”

Though later on, Khan indicated that he\’ll be looking to position Revolution as their big event in spring of 2027 instead of a new PPV.

The deal between WWE and Saudi Arabia seems to have come together at the last minute since the company has not announced an official date for WrestleMania 43.

The Revolution PPV has been held in early March the last 5 years, but it\’s possible that Tony Khan would move the show closer to April to attract the US audience usually attending Mania in 2027.

  • WrestlePalooza Opening And Closing Matches Seemingly Confirmed

Some details have been confirmed about WrestlePalooza.

WWE has announced a total of 5 matches for the reinstated ECW PPV this Saturday. The marquee bouts for the show are John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar and AJ Lee\’s in-ring return in a mixed tag match.

This will be the company\’s first PLE as part of their new deal with ESPN. There has been a lot of talk about which match will main event the show, that will compete against AEW All Out.

On the latest episode of his show, Pat McAfee cleared this confusion. The WWE announcer revealed that the match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar will be officially kicking off the WWE-ESPN era:

\”Kicking off the ESPN-WWE era will be John Cena versus Brock Lesnar here at Gamebridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is obviously gigantic. What a way to start.\”

AEW has announced a special start time of 3 PM ET for All Out. The decision to put the Lesnar vs Cena match first was likely made by officials to pull any viewers away from the rival PPV if the AEW show goes long.

The announcement also means that AJ Lee teaming with CM Punk to face Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins will be the closing bout of WrestlePalooza.

There is another bout that is rumored to be added to the Saturday show but it will depend on the health of a current champion. You can check out more about it here.

  • AEW Talent Leaves Company After 4 Years

A longtime AEW talent has left the promotion.

People started speculating about the status of Kiera Hogan after the young star was removed from the roster page on the company\’s official website.

Fightful Select has now confirmed that the 31-year-old who joined the promotion back in August 2021 has officially left the company owned by Tony Khan.

AEW had sent birthday wishes to Hogan on social media earlier this week. The wrestling star had responded to these posts as well, and reports suggest that there is no ill will behind her departure.

Kiera last wrestled for an indie promotion in April this year, though she hadn\’t been seen in an AEW ring for more than 18 months. There have been reports of her release being the result of contract expiration, but this hasn\’t been confirmed.

The now former AEW star has been busy in her time away from wrestling. She was announced to be part of season six of Joseline\’s Cabaret earlier this year and is expected to tour with them this fall.

Kiera Hogan ended up suffering an unfortunate shoulder injury during the shooting of the show, and it\’s one of the reasons behind her recent absence from the ring.

Though the former Impact Wrestling star has not left the business behind. She trained with Cezar Bononi last year to prepare for an in-ring return, and the belief is that she will wrestle again somewhere down the line.

  • Backstage News On Potential New WrestlePalooza Match

A sixth match could be added to WrestlePalooza.

WWE has officially announced a total of 5 matches for the upcoming PPV as of this writing. It includes a match between IYO SKY and Stephanie Vaquer for the vacant Women\’s World title as well as AJ Lee\’s in-ring return in a mixed tag team match.

Now Fightful Select has provided an update on a second women\’s title match that could potentially be added to the show from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana this Saturday.

According to them, a triple threat match among Tiffany Stratton, Nia Jax, and Jade Cargill for the Women\’s Championship has been discussed for the PPV event. This report comes after the bout was featured on a leaked WrestlePalooza merchandise that went viral on social media earlier.

Tiffany Stratton was pulled from her scheduled six-woman tag match at this past Tuesday\’s Homecoming special of NXT at the last minute. Lyra Valkyria ended up replacing her in the bout.

WWE claimed that the reigning Women\’s champion was not medically cleared, but did not provide any more details behind this change.

It\’s likely that we will get an update on Stratton\’s health at this Friday\’s SmackDown and the triple threat will be announced for WrestlePalooza if she is cleared to compete by then.

  • It Was Real: Shawn Michaels Discusses Ric Flair Wrestling Again After His WrestleMania Retirement

Shawn Michaels has reflected on one of his most famous matches.

The WWE Hall of Famer recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet. He talked about things such as his early career in wrestling, when he first started feeling like a star, working with Bret Hart and more.

During the interview, Michaels also discussed one of his most famous matches against Ric Flair at WrestleMania 24. The bout was the latter\’s WWE retirement match and has been included in the list of the 50 greatest WrestleMania matches by the company.

HBK first discussed the emotional ending of the bout and told the story of how the finish came to him just days before the match:

\”That might have been a week out, waking up in the middle of the night and just having this, whatever you want to call it, a flow of consciousness about the end of the match and what it ended up being. I was writing it down, and I came to the end, it’s stuff that sounds like it’s a movie scene, and the little tear drops on the paper. I’m like, Oh my goodness.\”

It Was Real That Day: Shawn Michaels

Many people believe that Flair disrespected the emotions of the fans by choosing to wrestle again under the TNA banner after his WWE sendoff. Shawn Michaels talked about this notion and claimed that atleast on the day off the match, the emotion they showed was real:

“It was real that day, because he was weeping the entire time, and almost the entire match, but especially at that part. He knew it was the end, he knew it was the end of the match. I know people, they’ll even say, oh, you’re gonna wrestle again, not at that moment. Everybody was so invested in that, because for that moment in time, to us, it was real.\”

Ric Flair would end up wrestling 16 matches for TNA during his stint with the company between 2009 to 2011. He had a second retirement match at an independent event in 2022.

The Young Bucks, JetSpeed and the Don Callis Family all picked up victories in their respective bouts. This earned them the right to challenge defending champions Brodido for the titles at the show this Saturday.

During the segment, Page who will be putting his title on the line against the Don Callis Family member, revealed a new stipulation for the bout. He announced that Fletcher will be stripped of his TNT title if any members of his faction interfered in their world title match.

  • Andrade Makes Challenge For First Post-WWE Match

Andrade has seemingly set up his first post-WWE match.

The former US Champion was quietly released from his WWE contract earlier this month, after having returned to the company only last year.

The 35-year-old has not officially announced his next move since the news came out, but he has been involved in a twitter fight with MJF the last few days.

Andrade seemingly confirmed this as his first feud after his WWE exit on Tuesday when he challenged the former AEW Champion to a Mask vs. Hair match in Mexico:

The AEW star is the reigning CMLL Light Heavyweight Champion. He is set to defend the belt in a mask vs. title match against Mistico in Arena Mexico this Friday.

Andrade also has a long history with the promotion, where he previously wrestled under a mask as La Sombra. So it would be the perfect promotion for a match between the two.

Though the former NXT Champion did not use the masked persona when he returned to CMLL for a short run back in 2023. So we\’ll have to see if he really brings the mask back in his return.

The WWE departure of Andrade is also shrouded in mystery with reports suggesting that it was not a mutual decision. You can check out more about it here.

  • Main Roster Star Announces New Championship Match For NXT No Mercy

A new championship match has been added to NXT No Mercy.

The development brand presented a special Homecoming episode of NXT this week, with the show coming live from its old stomping ground of Full Sail University.

The night featured appearances from a number of big main roster names who were previously a part of the Black & Silver show. One such name was the former NXT North American Champion Damian Priest.

Priest spoke to Tavion Heights during a backstage segment on the show, and announced that the 28-year-old will be challenging the current North American Champion Ethan Page for the title at the upcoming special.

    NXT No Mercy Match Card

  • Multiple TNA Stars Speak Up Against NXT Control In Cryptic Posts

It appears a new chapter in the NXT-TNA partnership will be beginning soon.

The WWE development brand returned to its old stomping ground at Full Sail University this week for a special episode of the show titled Homecoming.

The episode saw a number of main roster stars making appearances and getting involved in the action, including the likes of Charlotte Flair, The Miz and Rhea Ripley.

Another major thread of the show was the references to TNA that were made throughout the night, though most of them were disrespectful towards the Anthem-owned promotion.

    TNA Stars Speak Out

Potentially the ultimate disrespect for TNA talents was the announcement of a title vs. title match between NXT Champion Oba Femi and TNA Champion Trick Williams for next Tuesday\’s episode of the show.

A number of top TNA talents took to Twitter to voice their displeasure at NXT officials being in control of TNA\’s booking. Names such as Mustafa Ali, Cassie Lee, Mike Santana and more warned Shawn Michaels and the NXT brand about the result of their actions:

The synchronized effort of TNA talents suggests that it\’s the start of a new chapter between the two brands, one in which we\’ll see both the rosters competing with each other instead of just individuals.

The announced title vs. title match would give officials the perfect opportunity to kick-start this feud, and we\’ll have to see which stars join this new brand war.
