Jelly Roll Receives Pardon For Past Crimes Before Christmas

  • Nikki Bella Addresses Fans Calling Her A ‘Whore’

Nikki Bella has responded to cruel fan comments.

The WWE Hall of Famer filed for divorce from her husband Artem Chigvintsev, in September last year, after Chigvintsev was arrested on a domestic violence charge in August. Though the Napa County DA later declined to file criminal charges against Artem, stating that there wasn’t enough evidence to file charges.

The wrestling veteran referenced this messy end of her relationship while responding to fan comments on the latest episode of The Nikki and Brie Show. Nikki Bella discussed how some fans feel no hesitation in calling her a whore while she hasn’t had physical intimacy in a long time:

“It’s funny when people call me a whore when I actually haven’t had intimacy in a really long time. Even think of kissing. I haven’t even kissed someone in so long. It’s kind of crazy. I was thinking about this last night, like, ‘Do I still know how to kiss?’ You know when it’s been so long?”

Nikki Bella has been focusing on wrestling this year, after making her return to WWE at Royal Rumble. What was originally intended to be a short return has turned into a full run with matches against the likes of Becky Lynch and Chelsea Green.

The WWE legend has most recently been involved in a storyline with Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer. She turned on the WWE rookie during the November 10 episode of Raw after teaming with her for a while. Though Nikki failed to win the title from Vaquer at the Survivor Series: WarGames event later that month,

  • Jelly Roll Receives Pardon For Past Crimes Before Christmas

Jelly Roll has received an unexpected Christmas present.

The 41-year-old had been convicted of robbery back in 2002, when he was only 17. A female acquaintance had helped the rapper and two armed accomplices steal $350 from a home back then.

The victims had recognized the female acquaintance leading to Roll\’s arrest with her. The country music star had been unarmed, so he spent one year in prison and got probation.

This wasn\’t his only brush with the police, as the WWE star was also caught with marijuana and crack cocaine in his car back in 2008, this time receiving eight years of court-ordered supervision as punishment.

The American rapper had been petitioning for a pardon for these crimes since October 2024, which he claimed would allow him to travel internationally to perform missionary work.

The Associated Press confirmed that the Tennessee governor, Bill Lee, finally issued the pardon Roll had been seeking for a while on Thursday.

Lee said, “His story is remarkable, and it’s a redemptive, powerful story, which is what you look for and what you hope for,” while granting the pardon, which also gives Jelly Roll his right to vote back.

Real name Jason Bradley DeFord, the Grammy-nominated artist made his wrestling debut this year, teaming with Randy Orton at SummerSlam in a losing effort against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre.

  • Seth Rollins Reveals If Has Thought About Retirement

Seth Rollins is not thinking of retirement just yet.

The former WWE World Champion and his wife, Becky Lynch, recently had an interview with Ross Tucker. The duo discussed things such as John Cena\’s recent retirement, expectations from WWE Unreal S2 and more.

During the interview, Seth Rollins was also asked if he had thought about the end of his wrestling run with all the recent talk about retirement. The Architect accepted that he is closer to the end of his career than the beginning, but claimed that he still has many years of wrestling left in him:

“Nah man, not really. I got a lot more years left in the tank, so I’m not sure I’m there just yet. I think often, I guess, about the mortality of my career because I started when I was 17 and now, I’m nearly 40 and I’m certainly not going until I’m 60. I’m almost closer to the end than the beginning.\”

    So Far Away: Seth Rollins

Retirement has been a buzzing topic among wrestling fans this year with names such as John Cena and Goldberg saying goodbye to their in-ring careers. Not only this, but Hiroshi Tanahashi has announced his retirement for Wrestle Kingdom 20 in January, and even AJ Styles has confirmed that 2026 will be his last year as an active wrestler.

With so many of wrestling\’s well-known names saying goodbye to the sport, Seth Rollins is reminded of his own mortality, and he feels some urgency about doing things he has wanted to do. Despite the emotions, however, the Visionary is not ready to call it a career just yet:

\”So I think about, I suppose, like the mortality and the fact that it’s winding down. Maybe there’s some urgency to do some things that I haven’t done or contribute in a different way. But, my last match, my last moment, that’s so far away that I haven’t quite got there yet.”

Seth Rollins is currently out of action with a shoulder injury he suffered at Crown Jewel in October and is looking at a 6-month recovery period. You can check out what Rollins said about his injury recently here.

  • Chris Jericho\’s Latest Fozzy Dates Align With WWE Schedule

Chris Jericho has revealed new Fozzy dates, and they are only adding fuel to the fire.

The former AEW World Champion has not been seen on AEW programming since April, with the popular belief being that he is on his way out of the company.

The leading speculation is that Y2J will be returning to WWE once his deal officially ends. The 2026 Royal Rumble, emanating from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on January 31, seems to be the perfect spot for his return.

While Chris Jericho has remained mostly silent about his wrestling future, he recently provided an update on his other passion. On Instagram, the wrestling veteran revealed new Fozzy dates for an upcoming UK tour in February:

    https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2025/12/\"https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2025/12/\"

What\’s worth noting about this announcement is that the band has no shows on the two Mondays falling in the range of the tour, while both the Wednesdays have been booked.

Whether this is actually an indication of Jericho\’s wrestling future or just a coincidence is something that will only be revealed in time.

It does give fans something to discuss in his prolonged absence from the ring, however, and keeps the former WWE star in the news cycle even when he is not involved in a major story.

  • John Cena Reveals Real Meaning Behind Ending of Gunther Match

John Cena has explained the ending of his last match.

The Cenation Leader\’s retirement match with Gunther was built around whether or not the Ring General will be able to submit his opponent. The final minutes of the bout saw Cena struggling to get away from the sleeper hold as the former NXT star locked it in again and again. In the end, John decided that he\’d done enough, and the WWE legend smiled before finally ending his career with a soft tap out.

The 17-time world champion explained the meaning behind the whole sequence while appearing on Cody Rhodes\’ podcast. John Cena mentioned that everyone he loved was in the front row for the match, and he knew that his colleagues were watching backstage. To him, the ending was about saying goodbye in the same way someone on his deathbed does:

\”As I essentially take my last breath, I have struggled. If you think of somebody, the natural causes scenario or however we picture loss in our life, all of us have been through it. They struggle. They hang on just long enough to make sure to say goodbye to everybody that’s been meaningful in their lives.\”

    Going Peacefully: John Cena

John Cena discussed how the whole day was very emotional with all the people who meant something in his life interacting with him. The ending signified that he was able to let his career go peacefully after saying thank you:

\”And that whole day was so many unbelievably vulnerable, meaningful conversations. And then you realize, I’ve connected with everybody I love. Physically, I feel great. I think it’s time to take that last breath. And that’s that.

I hate to keep going back morbidly to obituaries, but like… this person died peacefully. And knowing that like, man, we are in a good place. We’re going to be great going forward. The bottom of the t-shirt says ‘I gave everything, thank you for everything.’ And in that one moment, that was that. Going peacefully.”

The 17-time world champion ended his 26-year-long career with over 2300 matches. Latest reports suggest that WWE is working on a new documentary about his retirement. You can check out more about it here.

  • WWE Working On John Cena Retirement Documentary

WWE is working on a new John Cena documentary.

The former face of WWE ended his year-long retirement tour last week, with a loss to Gunther at Saturday Night\’s Main Event on December 13.

Everyone who watched the show was moved over the legendary career coming to an end after 26 years. People such as Cody Rhodes were seen being visibly emotional while trying to come to terms with the GOAT\’s retirement.

Now Fightful Select has provided an update on this, revealing that WWE is working on a documentary surrounding John Cena\’s retirement. Not a lot is known about the documentary but the company is eyeing a mid-2026 release date for it, with Peacock being the rumored landing point.

The Cenation Leader had announced the retirement tour at Money In The Bank last year, with the intention of giving fans enough time to come to terms with the end of his career.

With the advance notice, it seems likely that the officials would have planned a documentary highlighting the whole of his final run from a behind-the-scenes standpoint.

John Cena had revealed before his retirement that he had already signed a new ambassador contract with the company. So he\’s likely to continue making appearances for the promotion.

One of the matches on the card featured Mercedes Mone defending the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship. She ended up losing the bout to Alex Windsor, ending Mone\’s reign just shy of one year at 349 days.

This is the second title belt Mercedes has lost this month. She previously also took a loss from Red Velvet at ROH Final Battle, ending her claim over the ROH Women\’s TV title.

AEW Collision 20/12 Spoiler Match Results

    • Singles Match: Eddie Kingston def. Nathan Cruz
    • RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship: Alex Windsor def. Mercedes Mone (c)
    • Continental Classic Gold League: Kevin Knight def. Kazuchika Okada

The second half of the Collision aired live after Dynamite this week, featuring matches such as FTR vs Bang Bang Gang for the AEW World Title and more.

  • MJF Returns To Make Diddy Reference, Insert Himself Into Worlds End Match

MJF is back and is already creating controversies.

This week\’s Holiday Bash special of Dynamite featured a contract signing segment for the upcoming World Heavyweight Championship match between Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Hangman Page.

Before the contract could be signed, however, the Salt of the Earth returned to the company, making his first appearance since the All Out PPV in September.

The former AEW Champion immediately inserted himself into the title picture. MJF announced that he will be cashing in his Casino Gauntlet contract to make the Worlds End title match a fatal 4-way.

    MJF Mocks Swerve Strickland

The former Pinnacle leader went on to cut promos on all three competitors. He first explained that he is cashing in the contract to prove that he is not a coward like Hangman claimed.

He blamed Samoa Joe for the fans turning on him after the Samoan Submission Machine defeated him for the AEW title two years ago.

MJF finally turned his attention towards Swerve Strickland, comparing the music star to P. Diddy. He claimed that both are dogshit rappers who use too much baby oil. He also mocked Strickland for his WWE days, saying the former Hit Row member was twerking for Top Dolla when he was already a star in AEW.

AEW Worlds End this year will be taking place from the Now Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois on December 27, 2025. Apart from the World title match, the show will feature the Continental Classic semi-finals and final, as well as a match between Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter for the AEW Women\’s title.

  • Seth Rollins Reveals Immediate Reaction To Crown Jewel Injury

Seth Rollins has revealed what was going through his mind at Crown Jewel.

The Architect suffered a shoulder injury while facing Cody Rhodes at the WWE PLE from Perth in October this year. Though he managed to finish the match in the end. Seth defeated Cody by using the wristwatch Rhodes had gifted him, to his advantage.

During a recent appearance on the Games with Names podcast, Seth Rollins opened up about the bout and his injury. The former World Champion confirmed the spot where he got hurt and noted that his first thought was to finish the match:

“I did what we call a coast-to-coast headbutt. In the landing, I didn’t stick it. I did not stick the landing. I rotated a bit to my left, landed hard on my left elbow, and jolted it up into my shoulder. Felt it go right away. I was like, ‘Oh, we got a lot left to do in this match. How much can I do? Can I do it? Should I go in a different direction with the finish? What should we do?’\”

    It Was Hard: Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins mentioned that he was lucky that he didn\’t have to pick Cody up for anything after this spot so they were able to go through the bout. He did take a Cross-Rhodes from the top rope, which was pretty scary, but he doesn\’t think he did any more damage to his shoulder with that spot.

The former Vision leader let the referee know about the injury but decided not to change anything in the bout. Despite the adrenaline, however, it wasn\’t an easy thing to continue the match and Seth noted how it was very hard for him to get through it:

\”It was hard for me to raise him. If you watch it back, [the arm] is dangling at my side. I can’t throw punches or forearms correctly. It was hard to do what I needed to get done. It was really tender and it was starting to get worse as the match was going on. Is it stupidity or courageousness? I don’t know. Where is the line? My mindset is to finish.”

The wrestling veteran also noted that he had surgery two weeks ago and he is looking at a six-month recovery period. This means Seth Rollins will be out of action until WrestleMania 42, and he could even miss the show of shows next year.

  • RVD Shares One Disappointment With John Cena\’s Final Match

RVD has revealed his thoughts on John Cena\’s final match.

Fans were not happy with the Cenation Leader tapping out to Gunther in his final match at Saturday Night\’s Main Event. They expressed displeasure with the booking by booing the WWE creative head Triple H when he came out at the show after the bout and again during the SNME post-show.

During a recent interview with Inside the Ring podcast, RVD revealed his thoughts on Cena\’s final match. Mr. Monday Night claimed that he expected his former rival to end his career in this way. The one thing that disappointed him, however, was the length of the bout:

“I expected it, I guess. I was just kinda bummed that it was over and so final at that moment, there’s no going back. They rang the bell, that match is over.

It’s just like, you know it’s coming but it doesn’t make that moment any more enjoyable or whatever. I kind of was disappointed just cause I would’ve liked it to go another 20 minutes, I was having fun. Otherwise, I kind of expected that to happen.”

The ECW legend also discussed how he felt about being invited to attend the show. RVD said that he didn\’t realize how loud the crowd reaction for him in the arena was until he started receiving messages about it. He noted that the whole experience was really awesome.

John Cena has already been announced for his first post-retirement appearance at Fan Expo New Orleans in January 2026. Though it\’s not the only thing as Cody Rhodes has also started teasing a collab with the 17-time world champion. You can check out more about it here.

  • Backstage News On Botched Title Match Finish On NXT

WWE officials were left scrambling after unplanned finish to an NXT title match.

The latest episode of the development show featured Thea Hail challenging Blake Monroe for the Women\’s North American Championship. The title match ended on an awkward note as Monroe failed to get her shoulder up in time during a pin spot.

Hail herself looked very surprised when the referee called for the bell. It took a while before her music played in the arena after her victory and there was heavy speculation that the match was not supposed to end this way.

Fightful Select provided an update on the situation, confirming that Blake Monroe was scheduled to retain her title before the botched finish to the bout. They report that creative plans were set for the title for the next couple of weeks.

Officials were left scrambling after the unplanned championship change, and the whole thing ended up affecting plans for multiple people. Though there was no update on who took the blame for the situation, as the people involved immediately started working on making adjustments to the creative.

The new champion Thea Hail, was featured in an interview segment later in the show with Jordynne Grace. Grace mentioned that Hail found a path to the championship quicker than herself. Blake Monroe then made an appearance, blaming the referee for the finish and demanding a rematch.

A date for this rematch has not been revealed. With NXT New Year\’s Evil special being only three weeks away, we\’ll have to see how the company alters the plans for the title heading into the event.

  • TNA Champion Set To Challenge Oba Femi At New Year’s Evil

Oba Femi has a new challenger.

This week’s episode of NXT featured a Fatal 4-Way main event to determine the challenger for the NXT title at the upcoming New Year’s Evil special on January 6.

The match saw Joe Hendry, Myles Borne, Dion Lennox and the reigning TNA X-Division champion Leon Slater battling for a shot at the top belt of WWE’s development brand.

Joe Hendry looked to have the match won after he threw Slater on Lennox outside the ring and then delivered the Standing Ovation on Borne.

As the former TNA World Champion went for the pin, however, Lennox pulled him out of the ring. The two then started brawling at the ringside, allowing Leon to take advantage.

The X-Division champion delivered a big 450 splash on Myles Borne to win the match. Oba Femi showed up at the stage after the bout and stared down the new #1 contender to end the show.

This is the second match confirmed for the upcoming event. The winner of the 2025 Women’s Iron Survivor match Kendal Grey, is set to challenge Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s title in the other confirmed bout of the special.

Femi is in his second reign as the NXT champion after winning the belt back from Ricky Saints at Deadline earlier this month. The ruler is likely to make the main roster move soon after his recent match with Cody Rhodes but we’ll have to see how he handles his business in the meantime.

  • 50 Cent Reacts To WWE Raw Beating His Diddy Documentary

50 Cent does not like being #2.

This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, following up on John Cena’s retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, was the #1 show in the US on Netflix.

This meant that the ‘Sean Combs: The Reckoning’ documentary, produced by 50 Cent, remained in the #2 spot. The rapper, real name Curtis James Jackson, reacted to this fact on Instagram on Tuesday, saying that being #2 is like being the first loser.

The New York native later also posted the famous listening GIF of Cody Rhodes, blaming the current Undisputed WWE Champion for the ranking of the documentary:

    https://www.instagram.com/p/DSVU8O3DsB5/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading

50 Cent co-stars with Cody Rhodes in the upcoming Street Fighter movie set to be released next year. The music star is playing the part of Balrog, while the current face of WWE has landed the role of Guile. Roman Reigns and NJPW legend Hirooki Goto are also part of the cast.

This week’s episode of Raw did not have a Cody Rhodes segment. Though names such as Gunther, CM Punk, and Rhea Ripley made appearances.

The ending of the latest episode saw The Vision’s mystery man once again helping Logan Paul win his match. This time, however, he went on to remove his mask, revealing himself to be none other than Austin Theory.

  • Cody Rhodes Teases John Cena Collaboration After Retirement Match

Cody Rhodes has teased a John Cena collaboration.

The Cenation Leader retired from active competition this past week at Saturday Night\’s Main Event. After losing his match to Gunther, the WWE veteran left his shoes and pads in the ring.

The American Nightmare had been seen lingering around the ringside for a long time after Cena had left the arena, trying to come to terms with the GOAT\’s retirement.

Cody Rhodes posted a photo of the gear left by John Cena on social media on Wednesday, teasing a collaboration with the now-retired star:

The 17-time world champion has already been announced for first post-retirement appearance at the Fan Expo New Orleans early next year.

It\’s unknown what the tease from Cody means for Cena. The former face of WWE is one name that has never appeared on Rhodes\’ podcast. So it\’s possible that the post is hinting towards John having his first interview post-SNME with his former protege.

The Undisputed WWE Champion is continuing his feud with Drew McIntyre in the meantime, most recently attacking the Scottish Warrior at his home.

McIntyre has been awarded one more title match with the former AEW star with a stipulation of his choosing after this home invasion, though the destination for this bout is yet to be revealed.

  • Kyle Fletcher Names WWE Veterans As Promo Inspiration

Kyle Fletcher has revealed which WWE names he has used for inspiration for his promos.

The AEW star spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. He discussed things such as shaving his head live on TV, cage match with Will Ospreay, comparisons to Randy Orton, and more.

When asked about his promo inspirations, the 26-year-old mentioned that he grew up during the WWE PG era. According to Kyle Fletcher, one of the first names that drew him in with his promos was The Miz:

“This always gets a bit of a laugh. Growing up, I’m a little bit younger than a lot of wrestling fans. One of the people who first drew me with their promos was The Miz. A lot of people have things to say about him now, but I still think he’s one of the best. I think I’ve always thought that.\”

Far And Away The Best: Kyle Fletcher

The former TNT Champion also gave a nod to John Cena, saying the Cenation Leader is the best promo guy he has ever seen. Kyle Fletcher mentioned the recently concluded retirement tour of the 17-time World Champion, discussing how it featured some great promos:

\”I think Cena is far and away the best promo guy I’ve ever seen. The stuff in his final run, there have been a couple where I’ve just been sitting there glued to the screen like \’How is this guy just so amazing at what he does?\’\”

Apart from this, Fletcher named people such as Hangman Page, Roman Reigns, and Samoa Joe as some of the best promo guys he draws inspiration from, for his own work.

  • CM Punk Reveals If He Has Planned His Retirement

CM Punk is going to stick around for a while.

The current WWE World Champion appeared on the Saturday Night\’s Main Event post-show to talk about John Cena\’s retirement. The 47-year-old has said many times during Cena\’s retirement tour that he is on the same road as his longtime opponent, without a set date for retirement.

So Big E asked Punk if he has any ideas for his retirement, or if he would like it to be similar to his arch-rival. The Straight Edge star, however, said that he does not have an answer right now:

“I don’t got an answer for you, E, you know. When I make allusions to the end of whatever my career is gonna look like, it’s not because I feel like I’m there. It’s just because I look back at the entirety of my career, and there is a lot more road behind me than there is ahead of me.\”

I\’m Not Going Anywhere: CM Punk

Though CM Punk confirmed that he is not looking to retire anytime soon. He claimed that he is champion for a reason and he is not going anywhere:

The WWE legend showed the super Cena side of him for one last time, delivering multiple AAs to his opponent from various spots and staying in the bout despite taking much punishment.

In the end, however, John Cena passed on the last bit of momentum he had left. He smiled and tapped out to a sleeper hold from the Ring General, putting an end to one of the most legendary careers in all of sports.

The company made the end of his in-ring career official after Saturday Night\’s Main Event by moving his profile on their official website to the alumni section.

Though John Cena himself revealed earlier this week that he has signed a new 5-year deal with WWE to continue working as an ambassador for the promotion.

The whole locker room came out to pay tribute to the 17-time world champion after his loss. Both Cody Rhodes and CM Punk put their titles on him in an emotional gesture. You can check out what the latter said about this moment in the SNME post-show here.

  • Emotional Cody Rhodes Reflects On John Cena\’s Career

Cody Rhodes has reflected on John Cena\’s final match.

The American Nightmare remained at the ringside at Saturday Night\’s Main Event long after every other talent had left the arena. A visibly emotional Rhodes was approached by Jackie Redmond at the SNME post show when he was still trying to come to terms with Cena\’s retirement, looking at the boots left by him in the ring.

The Undisputed WWE Champion was asked what the night meant for him. At first, he had trouble forming his thoughts but Cody went on to explain how it was a special night where even the fans did not want to chant \’Cena Sucks\’ like they\’ve always done:

\”It\’s really hard to describe in a sense, of all the positives that he brought to our industry and leaving it better than he found it. Wrestling is…there\’s a way it ends, you know? And he did everything right, by the book. It\’s just still like, when it\’s that good, you don\’t want it to end. I know that\’s vague, but he did everything by the book, and taught so many people and set such a high standard, such a high bar.

I\’m not trying to get emotional on his night, but more than anything, just, you know, take a moment and think about those sneakers and, the Pump UPS before that, and the man who filled those and what he was able to do. Through good times, through bad times. Tonight, everyone just chanting, \’Let\’s go Cena.\’ Not \’Let\’s go Cena, Cena sucks\’ in the house. Just, \’Let\’s go Cena.\’ It\’s just, it\’s everything.\”

Can Only Hope To Have Something Like That: Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes said that there will never be another John Cena who did things his own way. The AEW co-founder explained that the 17-time world champion left a very high bar to shoot for stars to come and claimed that he was honored to be part of this night:

\”I\’m so happy it happened. It\’s a great, great arena with great wrestling history, and I\’m so sad it happened too, right? You know, Triple H had called me and asked me if I would be part of Saturday Night\’s Main Event. And always, wrestlers act like \’Oh, that\’s such a big ask.\’ Are you kidding? To be part of John Cena\’s final show, to be able to bask in this glory and this house? There\’s a number, I\’m sure Triple H is reading it right now somewhere. The amount of sellouts, the amount of things John did.

I know that sounds really material, but John led with his heart, and John also led with his mind. He was a businessman, and he was trained by businessmen, and he trained us to be businessmen. So for [him] to go out here where you got 19,000 people, whatever it was, and not a soul leaves until he leaves. That\’s a sign of a not a good career, a great career. We can only hope to have something like that. Really hats off to the greatest of all time.\”

  • CM Punk Explains Putting His Title On John Cena At SNME

CM Punk has explained his tribute to John Cena at Saturday Night\’s Main Event.

The Straight Edge Star and Cody Rhodes were the two names who joined the Cenation Leader in the ring after his retirement match at tonight\’s show. Both the WWE champions put their titles on the retiring star in the moment and prompted him to celebrate with the belt one last time before leaving the ring.

During his appearance on the SNME post show, Punk was asked about this unique tribute. He first discussed the start of his relationship with Cena when he arrived in WWE:

“Not deserved, but earned. I feel like me and Cody are two guys who came in when John was first getting on top, and you play follow the leader to an extent. There’s a lot of alpha personalities. There’s people who think they know what they’re doing, and I was always looked at as the indie guy. And maybe John even looked at me like that when I first got here,\”

    He\’s Earned It: CM Punk

CM Punk then explained that he slowly earned his main event status in the company and John Cena was one of the guys who helped him get there. According to the former AEW star, the 17-time world champion earned his tribute tonight:

\”But you know, you can be so good and so consistent for years that it turns heads, and me and John became soulmates. So, I think I’m in the position, currently, certainly not because of anything I did, or you know, maybe a fraction, but John’s definitely one of the guys that helped Punk get to his level, so to speak, so yeah, put the straps on his shoulders because he’s earned it.”

  • Triple H Defends John Cena Tapping Out At SNME

Triple H has explained the Saturday Night\’s Main Event finish.

The WWE creative head was booed loudly when he came out at tonight\’s WWE show after John Cena tapped out to Gunther in his final match. People continued to express their opinions with various chants when The Game made an appearance at the SNME post-show.

Just like at the show, however, the WWE Executive was in good spirit. He first joked how he thought the chants would be louder, before explaining the finish to Cena\’s retirement match:

“There are time-honoured traditions in our business, and there are ways you handle your business. John has said the right thing his entire career, that it’s about leaving this place better than you found it. I think that there is no way for people to understand that in the moment. But you do what is right for the business.

You do what is right for the industry. John has done that his entire career. I’m gonna do that my entire career, where I will do what I believe is right for this business. It just is what it is. I understand that is tough for people to understand. But It’s part of what we do. That is the role we have chosen.\”

I\’ve Got Big Shoulders: Triple H

Triple H was then asked if he ever considered a different finish to the bout. The former World Champion claimed that people will realize it\’s the right thing to do if you take the emotion out of it:

“If you were to say, ‘What will Cena do on his way out?’ Take the emotion out of it and ask people, ‘What would John Cena do?’ I’m not talking about the character. His entire career, sum that all up and say, ‘What will he do on the way out?’

If you want to talk behind the scenes. He will put over somebody on the way out. He will leave this better than he found it. He will go into the ring and he will make somebody on his way out. That’s what John does. That\’s what John has always done. I know people will criticize this. People will look at it and people will talk about this moment right here. I’ve got big shoulders, I’m good with it.”

  • Watch: Triple H Booed After John Cena Taps Out In Final Match

The fans were not happy with the finish to John Cena\’s final match at Saturday Night\’s Main Event.

The final match of the latest WWE show was built around the Cenation Leader\’s Never Give Up attitude and whether Gunther will be able to make the wrestling veteran tap in his last match.

The Last Real Champion showed his super Cena side one last time in the bout, delivering multiple AAs to the Ring General and staying in the match after taking much offence.

As expected, however, it was Gunther who picked up the victory in the end. After a prolonged sequence that saw the former NXT star locking the sleeper hold on his opponent again and again, John Cena finally smiled and tapped out to end his career.

This was only the fifth time the wrestling legend had ever tapped out in his career. Fans vocalised their displeasure with the finish with \’bullshit\’ chants right after the bell.

Triple H led the locker room to the ringside after the match, and he stood on the apron to hug John Cena towards the ending of the show. Fans booed the WWE Creative Head loudly on both occasions, though The Game was not fazed by this reaction:

Cena went on to have a beautiful farewell, including WWE\’s both World Champions CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, before he exited the arena. You can check out everything that happened after John Cena\’s final match here.
