  • Tony Khan Believes He Had Gotten \’Too Collaborative\’ With AEW

Tony Khan has explained what changed for AEW in 2025.

Fans had complained about inconsistencies in the product the company was putting out in the past couple of years, and the decline in business had supported these claims. Things changed this year, however, as a promotion saw an improvement in both storylines and presentation despite a number of top stars dealing with injuries.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Tony Khan explained how this was achieved. The AEW President claimed that he had gotten \’too collaborative\’ with his creative process and had become more relaxed in his approach, just like the very early days of the company. Things improved when he once again chose to implement the lessons he had learned at the time, taking the reins of creative in his own hands:

\”I think I had gotten too collaborative, and it was kind of the same mistake I made at the beginning, and it really helped in the end of 2024, going into 2025, I just said, \’Okay, I\’m gonna put the outline for everything together myself. I\’m gonna eliminate the meetings between shows, and I will put everything together myself between shows. And then I\’ll come in with the outline of what I want, rather than have a lot of collaborative meetings where everybody chimes in what they think we should be doing.\’\”

Khan explained that he reduced the number of voices involved in the decision-making process. Instead of having upwards of 10 people contributing ideas, he decided to change the company\’s focus to where he wants to take the promotion. He has once again started using the process he developed in 2020 and 2021, where Tony is putting together the outline of the shows by himself.

Though the wrestling executive later noted that he wouldn\’t say collaboration is a bad thing. He just believes in having a more direct line of dialogue with talents instead of delegating it to other people.  This doesn\’t mean he has completely shut out the flow of outside ideas, but Tony Khan still believes that the changes he made was ultimately the right call for AEW.

  • Watch: How The Wrestling World Celebrated Christmas 2025

    Merry Christmas from SEScoops!

The wrestling world has always celebrated the most magical time of the year in its own unique way. From Stone Cold Steve Austin delivering a stunner to Santa Claus to the various holiday-themed matches, the world of sports entertainment has given fans many classic segments related to the big day.

The modern era has also given us some memorable moments, with our favorite being the one-time Dirty Dom crashed the Mysterio family dinner after turning heel:

    The Wrestling World Celebrates Christmas

The companies have been running taped shows instead of live events to allow talents some much-needed time off with their families.

The people who have made the most of this opportunity include wrestling families such as Charlotte and Ric Flair and the Gargano family. Though others have opted for a Christmas Day adventure. This includes Seth Rollins who was on commentary for the Vikings vs Lions game, and Mark Henry, who was courtside for the latest Knicks game.

Some others, such as John Cena, chose to keep their celebrations private, sharing an inspiring message for fans instead. Finally, Cody Rhodes reacted to fans getting various American Nightmare-themed gifts for the big day. This included an adorable video of a young fan receiving a wrestling buddy of the WWE Champion:

  • Je\’Von Evans Asked About His Main Roster Status

Even Je\’Von Evans doesn\’t know which WWE brand he officially belongs to at the moment.

The Young High Flyer has been on a tour of WWE properties recently. Apart from competing at John Cena\’s final show, he has picked up singles victories on both Raw and SmackDown and competed under the AAA banner, all in the past couple of weeks.

During a recent interview with the Battleground podcast, Evans was asked the question a lot of people have on their mind, if he is officially a main roster star now. The 21-year-old, however, proclaimed that he himself is unaware of his official status and he is just ready to do whatever the officials need him to:

\”So me, personally, I don\’t know. I\’m just wherever they need me to be, you know. I mean, look, wherever they need me, whenever it happens, I\’m gonna be ready, you know. They need me on SmackDown. They need me on Raw. They need me to stay in NXT; they need me to go to AAA. Hey, wherever you need me, young OG will do what he do.\”

WWE did provide an update on the official status of Je\’Von Evans this past Monday on Raw. Commentary confirmed that he was still signed to the NXT brand but set to become a free agent soon.

Recent reports suggest that Evans is not the only NXT star set to make official Raw or SmackDown debut soon. Other development names who competed at Saturday Night\’s Main Event are also expected to be fast-tracked to the main roster. You can check out more details here.

  • Seth Rollins Reveals Length of Current WWE Deal

Seth Rollins has revealed the length of his current deal.

The WWE star spoke to Jay Mohr for an interview recently, where he gave his opinion on topics such as the finish to John Cena\’s final match, WWE getting criticism for their relationship with Saudi Arabia and more.

During the talk, the former world champion was asked how much time he has left on his current deal and Seth revealed that he has three years left on his contract. When asked if he gets extra money for major events, Rollins confirmed CM Punk\’s previous remarks, saying he gets no bonus and it\’s all included in his yearly salary.

The former Vision leader had signed a new contract with WWE sometime in 2024. Though he is currently out of action with an injury he suffered during the Crown Jewel PPV in October.

Rollins also claimed during the interview that he had about 3 to 4 months of recovery left. WWE is usually allowed to add injury time to talent contracts, meaning Seth\’s deal can also be extended further for the time he is missing right now.

Apart from this, the former NXT Champion told stories of his troubles in the early days of his development run. The wrestling veteran recalled almost getting fired from the promotion before he even made his main roster debut. You can check out his comments here.

  • Seth Rollins Recalls Almost Getting Fired In NXT

Seth Rollins almost did not make it to the WWE main roster.

The former World Champion is one of the most successful wrestling stars of all time and one of WWE\’s biggest names today. During a recent appearance Mohr Stories podcast, however, Rollins revealed how he almost got fired before he had done anything in the company.

The Visionary recalled the very early days of his development run with the company. Seth revealed that he had trouble with retired wrestler and trainer Terry Taylor. At one point, Triple H had told Rollins that he would be fired if the Game heard one more negative thing:

“Terry Taylor, ‘Red Rooster’, he and I butted heads quite a bit when he got down to Florida. Triple H didn’t appreciate it. My attitude wasn’t appreciated, and it was like, ‘If one more negative report comes back, we will fire you,’”

It\’s All An Act: Seth Rollins

Even the warning did not do anything to make him reconsider his stand. According to Seth Rollins, he was ready to walk out of the company, believing that he could make more money outside. Thankfully, Joey Mercury, who the former ROH star considered a mentor, talked him out of it. The Architect did not want to be a corporate sellout, but Mercury helped him see the whole thing in a new light:

“He was like, ‘Dude, when you go out to the ring, you’re not yourself. You play a character. It’s the same thing when you’re talking with these people. You’re playing a character. It’s all an act. You’re always playing the game.’ When I framed it that way, it was much easier for me to be like, ‘Oh, okay, I can do that,’ and it worked.”

Apart from this, Seth Rollins also defended WWE\’s relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, comparing it to their partnership with the US government. You can check out his remarks on the matter here.

  • Arn Anderson \’Terrified\’ Of Imminent Casualty List In Wrestling

Arn Anderson is worried about the current generation of wrestlers.

The wrestling veteran spoke to Denise Salcedo for a new interview recently. He discussed things such as Cody Rhodes in WWE vs. AEW, the evolution of Sting, and more.

During the talk, the WWE Hall of Famer also gave his thoughts on the modern wrestling style. Arn Anderson expressed grave concern on the well-being of today\’s talent, saying that he\’s scared to death for them:

“Well, I’m terrified. I respect the girls and the guys of today’s wrestling industry, but scared to death too, because I see things happening in the ring that you can’t protect yourself on. Anything going backwards — German suplexes — you can’t protect yourself because you can’t see where you’re going.\”

    A Long Casualty List

The former NWA star gave the example of Charlotte Flair\’s moonsault as a move that concerns him. He mentioned how there is no way to catch someone safely while they\’re coming down with such force. Flair landing on her feet every time means there is a great chance of her blowing out her knee or tearing her hamstring.

Arn Anderson then discussed how he is beat up despite not taking as many risks during his active years. The 67-year-old shared his worry that there will be a long casualty list of wrestlers if they keep going like this:

\”I mean, you look at me, I’m beat up, and I didn’t do any of that stuff. So I’m just worried that in five years we’re going to have a casualty list about that long. And I hate it for the young guys and girls, because they feel like they need to go to that level to get the audience’s approval.\”

The wrestling legend later explained that he is not advocating to take all the excitement away from the sport. He wants talent to dial things down instead and stop doing moves that lead to frequent injuries.

  • Kenny Omega Says He Has To \’Take Care of Something\’

Kenny Omega has teased something ominous.

Last week\’s episode of Dynamite had seen The Young Bucks teaming with the former AEW Champion to defeat The Don Callis Family and finally winning the $1 million reward.

The brothers provided an unfortunate update on their health on this week\’s episode of the Wednesday Night show, however. The Bucks revealed in a backstage segment that they aren\’t cleared to compete at least for the remainder of the year.

Kenny Omega Has Something To Do

The Cleaner then got on the mic and proclaimed that the trio will always have each other\’s backs. Kenny Omega went on to deliver a mysterious message, saying that this gives him the opportunity to take care of something he should have done a while ago:

\”Whether we tag or not, The Elite are The Elite. I\’m always gonna be with these guys, they always got my back and I\’m always gonna have theirs. But maybe this gives me the chance to take care of something that I need to take care of myself. So while you guys [are] resting up, I\’m gonna do something that I think I should have done a little while ago.\”

Omega is currently not booked for a match at the Worlds End PPV this Saturday night. Though it\’s likely that we\’ll get an idea about his new quest before or at the show.

  • Darby Allin Cleared For Action, World\’s End Match Teased

Darby Allin has been cleared for action.

The former TNT Champion had been put on the shelf and replaced in the Continental Classic tournament after being hospitalized earlier this month.

In a backstage interview on this week\’s Dynamite on 34th Street special, it was then confirmed that the daredevil star had finally been cleared for action.

Allin was asked about the challenge Gabe Kidd threw out for the World\’s End PPV this Saturday. As Darby was claiming that he had bigger things to worry about, however, Kidd himself came up from behind and attacked the former champion.

The camera cut out for a second, and when things became visible again, the two stars were seen brawling at the foot of some stairs. Kidd forced Darby up the stairs only to throw him down again, to end the segment.

A bout between the two stars has not been made official yet, but it\’s very likely to take place at the World\’s End PPV this Saturday after this segment.

Apart from this, tonight\’s show also featured the crowning of a new Dynamite Diamond Ring holder after MJF had won it six times in a row. You can check out more about it here.

  • Dynamite Diamond Ring Gets New Winner After 6 Years

Bandido is getting an AEW title shot.

This week\’s Dynamite on 34th Street special was taped in advance from New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom and featured names such as MJF, Swerve Strickland, Kenny Omega, and more.

The match with the biggest stake was the bout between the two Dynamite Dozen Battle Royal finalists, Bandido and Ricochet.

The ending of this fight saw Gates of Agony running interference in favor of the former WWE star, allowing Ricochet to low blow his opponent. As the One and Only went for the pin, however, Bandido was able to turn it into a crucifix pin, winning the whole thing.

With this victory, the masked star has become the first person to win the Dynamite Diamond Ring other than MJF, who had won the accolade six times in a row before.

The win not only earns Bandido the ring but also a shot at the AEW World Heavyweight Championship at the Dynamite Maximum Carnage special on January 14, 2026.

Though the current ROH Champion will have to wait a few days to find out who he will be facing, as Samoa Joe is set to defend his title in a fatal four-way against MJF, Swerve Strickland, and Hangman Page at the Worlds End PPV this Saturday.

  • Seth Rollins Says \’No Money\’ Would Have Been Made With John Cena Winning His Final Match

Seth Rollins believes John Cena losing his final match was the right call.

Gunther became only the fourth person to make the Cenation Leader tap out in WWE at Saturday Night\’s Main Event earlier this month. The ending led to an uproar of fans who believed Cena should have won his retirement match. The creative head, Triple H, even got booed by the live audience for the booking.

Discussing the bout during his interview with Jay Mohr, the Architect mentioned that he did not have a conversation about the ending with the 17-time world champion. Seth Rollins has a suspicion, however, that the whole thing was John Cena\’s own idea:

\”Personally. I think it was his idea. It’s customary in our business to, when you’re on your way out, put the guy over. If John Cena had won the match, we wouldn’t even be having the conversation today. No one would be talking about it. At the end of it, we’d be like, ‘Aw, that was great.’ That’s it. There would be no money to be made,”

While not saying it out loud, John Cena himself had also suggested that the booking was his own idea during his first post-retirement interview with Cody Rhodes.

The Hollywood star had claimed that the finishing sequence of the bout symbolized him saying goodbye to his fans and peers, the same way someone on his deathbed says goodbye to his loved ones.

Apart from this, Seth Rollins also discussed WWE getting flak for their relationship with Saudi Arabia, comparing it to the company\’s partnership with the government in the US. You can check out his remarks on the matter here.

  • Logan Paul Reacts To Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua

Logan Paul was not surprised by the result of his brother\’s latest outing.

A well-known social media influencer in his own right, Jake Paul challenged Anthony Joshua in a boxing match this past week. The former two-time heavyweight champion ended up winning the bout after knocking out Paul in the sixth round. Jake had to get titanium plates installed in his mouth through surgery after the match because of a broken jaw he suffered during the fight.

The current WWE star talked about his brother\’s loss during an appearance on ESPN’s First Take. He claimed that nobody expected Jake Paul to actually beat an experienced boxer like Joshua and the ending was the logical conclusion to the bout:

“So, strictly from a logical point of view, I actually think it went down exactly as it was supposed to. I’m not sure anyone really thought that Jake was gonna beat Anthony Joshua but, you have to understand, being his brother and in his close circle, he has this conviction that makes you believe and he has this ability to defy reality and morph it into his vision of how it’ll transpire that makes you think he’ll win… This was a logical conclusion to the fight.\”

Logan Paul then proclaimed that he is incredibly proud of his brother, and the whole thing was a net positive. He claimed that the fight showed the world how tough and fearless Jake Paul is and why he is in the position he is. He mentioned how his brother regularly puts himself in positions to do the impossible and that he loves him very much.

The former US Champion also confirmed that Jake is planning to enter the boxing ring again, but a timetable for it is not in place. He mentioned that Jake\’s fiancé Jutta Leerdam, will be competing in the upcoming winter Olympics next year, and Paul\’s number one priority right now is to support her.

  • Jade Cargill Reveals What Triple H Told Her After Women\’s Title Win

Triple H told Jade Cargill that her work is just starting after her title win.

The current Women\’s World Champion spoke to Brad Gilmore recently to promote WrestleMania 42 from Las Vegas. The female star discussed things such as what Mania means to her, how far in advance she plans her wrestling gears and more.

During the talk, the former AEW star also discussed winning her first singles title in WWE last month. She revealed that Triple H was not in the building that night, but The Game gave her valuable advice when he finally saw her:

“He actually wasn’t there that day. He wasn’t there that day, but that following Friday we did, he was just telling me how proud he was of me and how much I’ve grown in this company and that the hard work is just starting. So he was just proud of me, told me that, you know, I worked so hard to get here, but now the hard work really starts.”

Jade Cargill made her wrestling debut for AEW back in 2021. She went on to become the Inaugural AEW TBS Champion and had a lengthy run with the title that established her as a star in the industry.

She has had a couple of runs with the tag team titles after leaving AEW for WWE in 2023. Cargill finally won her first singles title in the Endeavor-owned promotion, defeating Tiffany Stratton at Saturday Night\’s Main Event on November 1.

  • Seth Rollins Reacts To WWE Getting \’Shit\’ For Saudi Arabia Partnership

Seth Rollins doesn\’t see a difference in WWE working with Saudi Arabia and US government.

The former World Champion recently spoke to Jay Mohr for a new interview. They talked about things such as his journey in pro wrestling, John Cena\’s retirement match and more.

During the talk, the Architect also discussed WWE getting criticism for their relationship with Saudi Arabia. Seth Rollins claimed that working with the Kingdom is not any different than TKO receiving site fee from various US cities for big events:

“We’ve been going there for six years. We’ve been taking sh*t for six years. ‘It’s blood money.’ Well, guess what? We get paid by America too. What do you think? You think there’s no blood money there? Come on. Get out of here.\”

They Wouldn\’t Do Anything: Seth Rollins

WWE first held live events in Saudi Arabia back in 2014 before signing a deal with the Kingdom to bring televised events to the country in 2018. The partnership has only expanded under the TKO regime, with the company announcing Royal Rumble 2026 and WrestleMania 2027 for the Middle Eastern country this year.

Seth Rollins, however, is focused on the cultural impact of the shows instead of the business partnership. The Visionary claimed that he, too, was skeptical about the country when he first went there for a show. His views have changed after seeing how things have progressed since then:

\”When I tell you we went there the first time, there were no women on our show. There were no women backstage. They wouldn’t do anything. Now we go there and it’s just like a WWE show. The fans — there’s a ton of women there, local.”

Apart from this, Seth Rollins also provided an update on the timeline from his recovery during the talk. You can check out his remarks on the matter here.

  • Latest On Anna Jay AEW Contract

Anna Jay\’s contract is not up until next year.

Fightful Select had reported last month that the former Dark Order member had her deal expiring sometime soon, and that she was open to exploring free agency options.

The site provided an update on the matter recently, revealing that it\’ll actually be a few months before the young star might be able to make a move.

According to the latest report, Anna Jay\’s contract is actually not expiring this year, and instead, it is expected to end sometime in the spring of 2026.

The longtime AEW star had been teaming with Tay Melo in recent months. The duo was part of the Tournament to crown the Inaugural Women\’s Tag Team Champions.

Though they lost the first-round match during the November 19 episode of Collision. While Melo wrestled another match for the company after this, Jay has not been seen in an AEW ring since.

Anna Jay has been a regular for AEW for the past 5 years. She officially joined the company in 2020 and has been part of the Dark Order and Jericho Appreciation Society factions.

Whether or not Jay ends up leaving the promotion will be revealed in time. Her recent absence from the company in the meantime is definitely going to fuel rumors about her future.

  • Bryan Danielson Reveals If He Had A Pop-off Moment in 2025

Bryan Danielson enjoyed the small things in 2025.

The wrestling veteran recently made an appearance on the Bella Twins podcast. He talked about things such as his love for penis jokes, Instagram news vs. real-life news, and more.

When asked if he had a \’pop-off\’ moment in 2025, the former AEW champion discussed how it was the first year after he was done with full-time wrestling. For Danielson, the year was all about spending more time with his family and doing activities with his two kids:

“I don’t have any specific moments that were just like, “Oh wow, this\” or \”Oh wow, that.” It’s just been a very pleasant year. I’m done full-time wrestling and got to be….like I got to coach Buddy’s T-ball team.

I get to be home more with the kids, like regularly doing stuff. I think this happened this year, finally teaching Birdie to ride her bike. So it was because I was able to be home more and physically do it with her. One of my favorite things ever is just riding bikes with her now.”

Bryan Danielson ended his full-time wrestling run at the WrestleDream PPV in October last year. Thus 2025 became the first year since his 2018 in-ring return that the former WWE star did not wrestle a serious match.

The 44-year-old has since been given a new role in AEW as part of the Dynamite broadcast team. However, Danielson does not consider himself to be fully retired. You can check out his latest comments about his in-ring status here.

During the talk, the wrestling veteran had an exchange about his likes with his wife, Brie. When the latter mentioned that Danielson loves dick jokes told by male comedians, Bryan explained that he loves dick jokes from everyone:

“I laugh at dick jokes by women as well. I just find them funny. I especially find flaccid penis jokes to be the funniest thing in the world. It’s like Gonzo from The Muppets, right? It’s just perfect.”

Tears In His Eyes: Brie Bella

Brie Bella then mentioned that Bryan Danielson loves the work of actor Danny McBride. The former WWE star is so amused by such commentary that he finds himself in tears anytime it comes up:

\”Anything with Danny McBride — we love Danny McBride — but there always has to be a flaccid penis walking by on the screen. I’ll kind of glance over, and Bryan is like, can’t breathe, tears in his eyes, while the guy just walked by. I’m looking at him like, ‘Is it really that funny?\’”

Bryan Danielson had recently provided an update on his in-ring status and discussed his new role as an AEW commentator. You can check out his remarks on the matter here.

  • DDP Discusses LA Knight\’s Rise Being Compared To His Own

DDP has revealed his thoughts on LA Knight.

The wrestling veteran recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. They discussed things such as Lex Luger\’s Hall of Fame induction, Bron Breakker potentially becoming a world champion in 2026 and more.

When asked about the comparison between LA Knight\’s recent rise in wrestling to his own career, DDP said that he loves the current WWE star\’s tenacity:

“It took him a long time to get to that character. And he was good before that, but now he’s great. Hopefully at some point he gets a chance to really get that ball, because he can run with it, give him that damn ball, because that cat, he’s got it all.\”

He\’s A Piece of All That: DDP

DDP first made his in-ring debut in 1979 but quit wrestling after only three matches because of a knee injury. He continued being part of the wrestling world but did not enter the ring himself again until 1989. He slowly became a popular figure after joining WCW in 1991, but Page did not win his first world title until 1999, when he was 43.

LA Knight has had a somewhat similar trajectory, with him becoming popular with WWE fans in the past couple of years, despite having made his wrestling debut over 2 decades ago. Though the former WCW Champion himself does not see the current WWE star as the second DDP, and he believes Knight is inspired by every wrestler before him:

\”And people who say that he’s mimicking this character, that character, that’s so wrong. He’s a piece of all that. He grew up on all of us coming up wanting to do what we do, and now he’s doing it at its highest level. So I saw that article actually sent it to him, because it was really cool the way they [did it]. I thought it was just going to be a little blurb, but just comparing our careers.”

Fans had expressed concern about LA Knight\’s future in WWE after a recent segment with the Vision. You can check out what people within the company thought about it here.

  • Jerry Lawler Reveals Unexpected Side-effect of Recent Stroke

During the talk, the WWE Hall of Famer provided an update on his health, saying that he is \’6-7\’ on a scale of 1-10. The former WWE commentator discussed how he has been battling health issues for a while. Lawler noted that he gets to 7 and then something brings him down again, such as his most recent stroke in September.

The 76-year-old later revealed that his former girlfriend, Lauryn McBride, who manages his day-to-day, also holds the power of attorney for decisions regarding his health.

Lawler who made his wrestling debut back in 1970, had a lengthy career which saw him competing for promotions such as NWA Mid-America, CWA, AWA, and many more.

He was one of WWE\’s longest tenured employees, being a regular of the company from 1992 to 2016, except for a brief hiatus from the promotion in 2001.

You can check out The King\’s full interview below, where he also talked about his feud with Andy Kaufman and more:

  • Kane Reacts To Mick Foley Ending WWE Relationship Over Donald Trump

Glenn \’Kane\’ Jacobs was not surprised by Mick Foley\’s latest move.

The Hardcore legend had announced last week that he was parting ways with WWE over their support of Donald Trump. The wrestling veteran said that he would not make an appearance for the promotion as long as Trump was in office.

Kane was asked about this stand from the fellow legend during an interview with Newsmax. The former World Champion claimed that the move did not come as a surprise to him, and they live in a country where people are free to disagree about things:

“Well, certainly it’s no surprise. I know where Mick is at politically, and we’ve had our discussions about politics. We’ve always been able to keep them civil, and I wish that could happen more on public platforms altogether. One thing is, we live in a country where we are free to disagree about things.\”

I Think Mick Is Wrong: Kane

A member of the republican party himself, Glenn Jacobs is the current mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, in his second term in office. The former WWE star has defended Donald Trump on many issues in the past. In July 2020, he was the only member of the Knox County Board of Health who voted against a mask mandate inside certain buildings.

The Attitude Era star claimed that Mick Foley is entitled to his opinion even if he is wrong. Kane concluded his remarks, wishing that they could all express their opinions like this everywhere and not just in wrestling:

\”I think Mick is wrong, but nevertheless, he’s entitled to his opinion. I will defend his right to say that, even if I do think he’s wrong. And that’s the beauty of America. I wish that would kind of be all over the place, as opposed to just in wrestling.”

WWE has continued its relationship with the Trump administration in the meantime, with reports of Triple H visiting the capital more frequently in recent months. You can check out the Game\’s latest collaboration video with the White House below:

  • Multiple Title Matches Confirmed For Final Raw of 2025

Big matches have been announced for upcoming Raw episodes.

This week\’s episode of the Red Branded show featured General Manager Adam Pearce in a backstage segment with the Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer. Pearce asked the champion how they could handle her issues with Nikki Bella and Raquel Rodriguez, and Vaquer asked to be given a match with both of them.

Later in the night, AJ Styles and Dragon Lee talked about the Usos and confirmed that the legendary tag team is set to get a shot at their tag titles. Both these matches were confirmed for the final Raw of 2025 on December 29, though they weren\’t the only championship bouts announced on the show.

The episode also featured the return of Becky Lynch, who claimed that she was the real IC Champion. Maxxine Dupri interrupted the WWE veteran, and forced her to tap out with an ankle lock when the segment turned physical. A match between the two for the IC title was then confirmed for the January 5 Raw.

WWE had already announced that Kabuki Warriors will defend their Women\’s Tag Team titles against Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY on the first Raw of 2026. Apart from this, a big world championship match has also been announced for the show with CM Punk defending his title against Bron Breakker.

  • Update On Je\’Von Evans WWE Future

Je\’Von Evans is getting the free agent treatment.

The 21-year-old is seen as a future star by WWE, and the officials have been doing everything they can to familiarise the casual audience with his abilities in recent times.

Just in the past 10 days, Evans has picked up a victory over former World Champion The Miz on SmackDown and competed on both AAA Guerra De Titanes and Saturday Night\’s Main Event.

The high-flying star continued this tour with an appearance on the latest episode of WWE Raw, though this time with a twist. Evans was shown entering the arena during the opening of Raw, and Michael Cole announced during this segment that the NXT star was set to become a free agent soon.

Not only that, but General Manager Adam Pearce also spoke with the young star before his match on the show, asking Je\’Von Evans for a sit-down to discuss his future after his bout.

The development star went on to defeat Rayo Americano in his in-ring debut for the Red Branded show, once again showing his incredible capabilities in the squared circle.

It\’s unknown which of the two brands Je\’Von is expected to end up on. The latest segment does confirm that his days in NXT are numbered, and he is set to become one of the youngest names to join the main roster very soon.

  • Big Update On Andrade\’s Wrestling Status

    Andrade is finally free.

The former WWE star has been in the news again recently after making his in-ring return for WWC on December 13. He has since made an appearance for HOG in New York and confirmed his NJPW return for Wrestle Kingdom 20 on January 4, 2026.

These developments had made people curious about his status since the former NXT Champion has not provided an official update on his standing, except for saying that he had a signed letter allowing him to make the December 13 appearance.

Now Fightful Select has provided an update on the matter and confirmed that Andrade is finally a free agent, who can sign with a promotion of his choosing.

The 36-year-old had previously mentioned that he was using the same attorney as his ex-wife Charlotte Flair before, and he had to find new counsel after his departure from the promotion. The report reveals that AEW\’s Rush introduced Andrade to a lawyer and rep who had worked closely with WWE for years.

They were able to get the year-long non-compete waived. The former US Champion finally became a free agent on December 12, which would be exactly 90-days since his WWE exit. Although he was not being paid by the company during this period, unlike other releases.

Tony Khan has previously stated that he would welcome Andrade back in AEW when he is contractually free. Though his US visa sponsored by WWE ended with his contract. There is no clarity on whether it\’s the reason the Mexican star has not made his AEW return yet.

  • Seth Rollins Wants To \’Call The Shots\’ In WWE After In-Ring Retirement

Seth Rollins is coming for Triple H\’s job.

The former WWE world champion is a known NFL fan, and he has slowly been developing a career as a Football analyst in recent months. Apart from hosting Good Morning Football a number of times recently, Rollins is set to be part of the broadcast team for the Christmas Day game between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions on Netflix.

The wrestling veteran spoke about this opportunity and the upcoming game in detail during a recent interview with Bleacher Report. Among other things, Seth Rollins discussed managing his football duties with a full-time wrestling career saying that he wants to do it all. The Visionary said that he wants to create his own unique space where he can be part of both worlds even after the end of his in-ring career:

“I wanna do it all. I don’t see any reason why I can’t. Who says I can’t do both? I love WWE and I wanna be a part of it for as long as I can, as long as they’ll have me, whether that’s in ring or behind the scenes. And I love talking about football.

So if I can continue to kind of create my own space in that world and people will have me, I’d love to be there and talk about it. It’s a great thing to be able to do both, I’m super lucky. When I’m done, I wanna be in the booth calling a Bears game and then I wanna be calling the shots in Gorilla in WWE. So, let’s do it all.”

Though this doesn\’t mean Seth Rollins is looking to hang up his boots anytime soon. The 39-year-old had admitted that he has more wrestling years behind him than in front during a recent talk but claimed that he still has a lot of gas left in the tank. According to the WWE veteran, he still has years left before he starts thinking about the end of his career.

The former Vision leader is currently out of action with a shoulder injury he suffered during the Crown Jewel event in October this year. Rollins is expected to stay out of action for about six months, putting his potential return date right around WrestleMania 42 in April.

  • Andrade Makes Surprise Wrestling Appearance In New York

Andrade has returned to the US wrestling scene.

The former WWE star made a surprise appearance at the HOG Winter Warfare event from the NYC Arena in New York, this Friday Night on December 19.

The main event of the indie show featured the current HOG World Champion Charles Mason facing Mustafa Ali in a title match.

A mysterious figure with a mask and suit showed up after the match and laid out Mason. He then removed the mask to reveal himself to be none other than Andrade and held up the HOG title to end the show:

The former NXT champion had made his return to the ring earlier this month, winning the WWC Universal Championship in an event from Puerto Rico on December 13.

This was Andrade\’s first wrestling appearance since early October, when WWE sent a cease-and-desist letter, stopping the 36-year-old from competing anywhere in the world. The company officials believed him to be under a year-long non-compete clause and had opposed his return to AEW TV.

In a later update, the former La Sombra had confirmed that his lawyers were working on solving the issues with WWE and that they had a signed letter from the company, allowing him to make the December 13 appearance.

It\’s unknown if Andrade\’s latest HOG appearance is also part of a similar deal or if the company has lifted the non-compete clause completely. Stay tuned for more updates.
