Claudio Castagnoli Signs New Wrestling Contract But Not With AEW

Claudio Castagnoli is now a dual contract holder.

CMLL recently published a new video with the company’s reigning World Heavyweight Championship Claudio, and current General Manager and Owner of the company, Salvador Lutteroth III.

During the video, they announced that the AEW star has officially signed a new contract with the Mexican promotion. It makes him a part of the company roster while continuing his employment with Tony Khan’s organization.

The dual contracts have allowed AEW to lock a number of stars from their partner promotions, stopping WWE from signing the talents. Names such as Persephone, Hechicero, and Mascara Dorada have been the most recent examples of talents that have been added to the AEW roster while being contracted by CMLL.

Though Claudio Castagnoli’s signing is the first time a talent has opted for a second deal while being under contract with AEW.

Making his debut for the promotion in 2024, Castagnoli has made occasional appearances for CMLL since then. He has been more active in the promotion since winning the World Title from Gran Guerrero back in November last year, and the new deal is only expected to increase his presence in the company.

  • Backstage News On Hangman Page After Revolution Loss

Backstage News On Hangman Page After Revolution Loss

Hangman Page will be taking some time off.

The Cowboy challenged MJF for the AEW World Championship at the Revolution PPV this past Sunday. Despite a brutal Texas Death Match, the 34-year-old failed to win the bout. The challenger was loaded onto a stretcher after the extreme title fight, and the show had ended with MJF standing tall over him.

Fightful Select has now provided an update on his status, noting that Hangman Page is expected to take some time off from the company after his big feud.

The site could not confirm if his hiatus will begin immediately or how long he will be taking off. Though the former AEW World Champion did not appear on this week’s Dynamite and after being stretchered out of Revolution, it seems unlikely that he will return to weekly TV just to be written off again.

Hangman had gotten MJF to agree to the Texas Death stipulation on the condition that he would never challenge for the AEW Title again if he lost. Page has been a central figure of the AEW title scene since the company’s inception so we’ll have to see how the promotion addresses this change when he comes back.

Santos Escobar Confirms Reports About His Wrestling Status

Santos Escobar says he’ll be out for months.

The Mexican star last wrestled in a fatal four-way match at the AAA Rey de Reyes 2026. He went up against the two El Grande Americano and La Parka, but failed to win the bout.

Some fans showed concern about his movements during the match, and it was later reported that Escobar had actually been working the show hurt.

The Mexican star hurt his shoulder during a singles match with AAA Latin American Champion El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. back in January. He was said to be set for a torn tricep surgery this week after aggravating the injury in the latest AAA show.

    Santos Escobar Confirms Injury

The 41-year-old seemed to confirm these reports in a video posted by the company on their social platforms this Wednesday. Clutching his arm, Santos Escobar said that he will be out of action for months and warned Wagner Jr. about what will happen when he does come back:

“The medical report says I’ll be out for months….months. This is what I do. To provide for my family, my legacy. And you messed with it.

When I come back. Because you better believe I’m coming back. I’m not just coming for that title. This time, I’m coming for what you value the most. What you say is the most beautiful thing in Mexican Lucha Libre. Be careful what you wish for.”

There is no word on the exact timetable of return for Escobar but we should get a better idea after his surgery. Stay tuned for more updates.

  • First Match Made Official For AEW Dynasty

First Match Made Official For AEW Dynasty

The first match has been confirmed for AEW Dynasty.

The Revolution PPV this past Sunday saw FTR retaining their tag team titles in a highly praised bout against The Young Bucks. Adam Copeland and Christian Cage made their return to the company after the bout and took out the duo of Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler.

This week’s episode of Dynamite then saw The Bucks teaming up with Jack Perry to face the trio of Kazuchika Okada, Rocky Romero, & Trent Beretta in the main event of the show. Nick and Matt Jackson got on the mic after winning the bout.

The brothers talked about their loss on Sunday and, after an emotional promo, vowed to continue pursuing the tag titles. This is when Cope and Christian came out.

The Attitude Era tag team said that they respected The Young Bucks, and so they wanted to make the announcement face-to-face. E&C then revealed that they will be challenging FTR for the tag titles at the upcoming Dynasty PPV from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, on April 12, 2026.

FTR were the final team to make their entrance, but they quickly got taken out by both opposing teams. Both The Young Bucks and E&C then had a tug of war over the tag title belts that were left in the ring, but in the end, Matt and Nick decided to let things go. The episode concluded with Copeland and Christian standing tall as the Bucks left.

  • Kenny Omega Putting AEW EVP Position On Line For Big Rematch

Kenny Omega Putting AEW EVP Position On Line For Big Rematch

Kenny Omega is playing for big stakes.

This past Sunday’s Revolution PPV saw Swerve Strickland picking up a singles victory over Brody King. Things ended on a tense note after The Cleaner made the save for King as Strickland went for a post-match beatdown.

The two former AEW World Champions then addressed their encounter on this week’s episode of Dynamite. In a backstage promo, Kenny proposed a rematch of their February 18 bout, in which Strickland had picked up the victory. Omega asked Swerve to put his #1 contendership for AEW title on the line in this bout.

The former Mogul Embassy leader responded to the AEW EVP in the ring later in the night, with a promo of his own. Swerve Strickland opened his promo talking about power.

The 35-year-old mentioned that he had no idea he was the #1 contender but questioned the point of winning the title if he did not have the power to protect it. Strickland then threw a curveball, asking Kenny to put his EVP status on the line if he truly wanted the rematch.

The former IWGP World Champion must have agreed to the stipulation backstage as the company later made the match official for next week’s episode of the Wednesday night show.

  • Steve Austin Offers Unique Praise To Chelsea Green

Steve Austin Offers Unique Praise To Chelsea Green

Steve Austin has praised Chelsea Green.

The former Women’s US Champion has received a lot of support in the industry since the Unreal controversy. Veteran producer Michael Hayes had suggested during an episode of the show that her role in the company was to elevate main event talents but not to be one herself. While Hayes has since apologized to the female star for his remarks, the support for her continues.

The Texas Rattlesnake joined this list during his recent interview with SI. Praising Chelsea Green’s ability in his own unique way, Stone Cold Steve Austin said that the former champion is pretty fearless:

“You’re an idiot when you first join the business. You just are, unless you’re Shawn Michaels and you kind of get it from day one. When you’re starving and you’re making $15 and $20 a night, you realize that you better get good pretty quick and learn how to reach people on an emotional level,

So you can start making some money. I think that Chelsea Green does that a lot of time. She’s pretty fearless out there. On a creative note, she’ll go for it, and it’s done well for her.”

Chelsea Green has been out of action the last few weeks, after suffering a broken ankle in a triple threat match on the February 6 SmackDown. There is no word on how long she will stay on the shelf.

During the interview, Steve Austin also talked about the neck injury of Kevin Owens and revealed what working with Vince McMahon was really like. You can check out his comments here.

  • The Rock Teasing Big Return But Not In Wrestling

The Rock Teasing Big Return But Not In Wrestling

The Rock is teasing a Fortnite return.

The Great One recently posted a teaser video on his X account showing a digital avatar of him wearing armor. In the caption of the post, the former World Champion told his fans to ‘Meet me in the lobby this Thursday… 3/19.’

With the latest season of the online shooter dubbed Showdown set to be released on the same day, the speculation is that the post is about his return to the game:

The Rock has previously been featured in Fortnite as The Foundation. The character leads a mysterious organization called The Seven, whose goal is controlling the island’s reality.

Originally introduced back in 2021, the gimmick became a playable character at the start of Chapter 3 after the reveal of his identity during the Chapter 2 Finale The End. Though The Foundation has not been featured in the game in any major capacity since 2022.

The People’s Champion last appeared on WWE programming at Elimination Chamber last year. There has been speculation about Rock’s return to the company with angles such as Paul Heyman’s mystery helper and the latest Randy Orton storyline, but there has been no real update on his return to the promotion.

  • AEW Star Cleared For Action After One Year

AEW Star Cleared For Action After One Year

Brian Cage has finally been cleared for return.

The AEW star recently had a lengthy interview with Muscle and Fitness. He talked about things such as early struggles with poverty, his time in WWE developmental, and more.

During the talk, Cage also discussed his most recent injury and confirmed that he has finally been cleared for action after almost a year of hiatus:

“I haven’t made my return yet. I just got cleared fully from everyone to be able to come back so then, there’s the hopes of that too, of like, okay, this is a perfect way to press restart and start new and come back and re-debut in a good way, in a new way, bigger way, whatever, and make the best of a bad situation,”

Brian Cage tore his quad tendon in an indie match against Chris Masters back on March 20, 2025. The 42-year-old opted to also get a knee replacement surgery while out of action with the quad injury, delaying his return.

The Don Callis Family member later commented on his AEW return as well, saying that he doesn’t know when or where it will happen, but he can’t wait for it. Though the former FTW champion noted that he doesn’t want to have too high expectations in case his return is not as good as he wants it to be.

  • Chris Masters Reveals How Pill Addiction Stopped Him From Winning Only Title In WWE

Chris Masters Reveals How Pill Addiction Stopped Him From Winning Only Title In WWE

Chris Masters has revealed why he never won a title in WWE.

The former WWE star recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. He talked about things such as being signed by the company at the age of 21, the Master Lock challenge, his Mt. Rushmore of best body guys in wrestling, and more.

During the talk, the 43-year-old also opened up about never winning any championships in WWE despite having multiple runs with the company. He revealed that he was actually supposed to win the Intercontinental Championship in a fatal four-way match when he was chasing the title back in 2006. Plans changed after WWE learned about his painkiller addiction and sent him to rehab:

“Then the Intercontinental title—I was actually supposed to win that, but it was at the same point where they had given me an intervention for my prescription painkiller abuse at the time.

They even told me—I remember having the meeting with Johnny [Ace]—and because there was a four-way match that night, it was in Vegas for the Intercontinental title that I was slated to win. But then they caught wind that I had the issues I had, and I had an intervention, and basically told me, ‘You’re going to rehab.’ I screwed that.”

Chris Masters later revealed that he came close to winning the Tag Team Championship with Carlito when they faced Big Show and Kane at WrestleMania 22, but plans were changed the day before the show. According to the former WWE star, the officials wanted Carlito to turn face and wanted to give The Spirit Squad some momentum.

As a result, the tag team broke up after the loss, with Carlito turning face despite having betrayed Masters multiple times over the previous few months. Big Show and Kane then dropped the tag titles to Kenny & Mikey on the Raw after WrestleMania.

Watch: Unseen Roman Reigns Response To CM Punk From Raw

WWE has released an unseen Roman Reigns video.

This week’s episode of Raw was main evented by another confrontation between The Tribal Chief and his WrestleMania opponent, CM Punk. The promo ended with the Straight Edge Star punching the Head of the Table after being told that he was old.

CM Punk then exited the ring when officials showed up to avoid further confrontation as the show went off air. WWE has now released a video that shows Roman Reigns responding to Punk’s punch after the broadcast was over:

“I’ve always kept it real, and there ain’t nothing real about that one there. I told you, he’ll say everything he can, but all you gotta do is jab him the right way and he’s a hypocrite. At WrestleMania, I remind him and the rest of the world who runs this company. At WrestleMania, in the main event, CM Punk will acknowledge me and he will apologize to my family.”

The segment between the two WWE veterans has been criticized by some fans on social media. Many noted that Roman Reigns’ response felt unnatural and subdued after Punk brought up his late father in their last confrontation.

Did you think the latest segment between CM Punk and his WrestleMania challenger served its purpose? Let us know in the comments below.

  • WWE Star Set For Shoulder Surgery After Recent AAA Match

WWE Star Set For Shoulder Surgery After Recent AAA Match

Santos Escobar will be undergoing surgery.

Fightful Select is reporting that the 41-year-old is set to undergo surgery for a torn tricep this Thursday, after dealing with the injury for a while.

According to the site, Santos Escobar originally suffered the injury while wrestling El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. during an NXT Live Event over the Royal Rumble weekend in January.

The high-flying star had stopped working the live events after that but he competed in a couple of matches for AAA recently, while still dealing with the damage.

Unfortunately the former LWO member aggravated the injury during his most recent match at Rey de Reyes involving the two El Grande Americano and La Parka, and he will now have to take an extended hiatus.

Escobar had recently been in news when screenshots showing him in the alumni section of WWE’s website led to speculation about his release from the company.

It was later revealed, however, that his profile had originally been moved to the alumni after his contract expired last year. The Mexican star re-signed with the company shortly afterward but he was never moved back to the active roster page.

SEScoops wishes a speedy recovery to Santos Escobar.

Oba Femi Takes Dig At Aging WWE Main Event Roster

Oba Femi says a lot of top WWE stars have one foot out the door.

The Ruler recently spoke to Shak Wrestling for a new interview to promote his WrestleMania 42 match with Brock Lesnar. He talked about things such as his rapid rise in the world of pro wrestling and more.

When asked about WWE mixing things up by introducing some young stars to their roster recently, the 27-year-old mentioned that it’s a good thing. Oba Femi noted that a lot of top WWE names are in their late 40s now, and claimed that they’re on their way out:

“Well, it’s very good because at the end of the day, those older guys are doing their thing — they’re killing it — but at the same time, Father Time always wins. A lot of them are 44, 45, 46. They’re on their way out. They have one foot out the door. So this is the time for someone like ‘The Ruler’ to come in, take their place, and fulfil that destiny.”

The former NXT Champion also said that he has built trust with the officials with his work on the development brand, and the top brass knows that they have something special in him.

Oba Femi is the youngest name officially announced for a match at WrestleMania 42 at this point. Apart from him, all other male contestants scheduled to compete at the show are in their 40s.

  • Ex-WWE Star Claims Unprofessional Wyatt Sicks Incident Led To His Release

Ex-WWE Star Claims Unprofessional Wyatt Sicks Incident Led To His Release

Gzim Selmani says an unprofessional incident led to his WWE release.

The former WWE star known to fans as Rezar of Authors of Pain recently spoke to Ariel Helwani for a new interview. Among other things, he told his side of the story regarding his WWE release.

The 31-year-old was asked about the rumors of conflict with The Wyatt Sicks leading to their WWE exit. Rezar did not name anyone in particular but claimed that someone acted unprofessionally during their in-ring encounter:

“Yeah, there was an incident, very unprofessional from one of those guys. I don’t know their names. You know, I don’t want to go into it too deeply, but there was an incident at one of the holiday tours that we did.

And yeah, somebody tried to switch up the match during the match. And, you know, that’s just a no-go for me, especially if you’ve just been in the company for a little bit and we were already there for a long time. You know, you don’t do that. And, uh, yeah, I just had to let somebody know, and that was the end of it.”

Don’t Change It During The Match: Rezar

AOP, as part of the Final Testament faction, faced The Wyatt Sicks, consisting of Dexter Lumis, Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy & Nikki Cross in 4 matches during the 2024 post-Christmas Holiday tour. They had one more match with LWO on Main Event after this, before being released from their deals in February 2025.

When asked if it was someone trying to change the finish of the match mid-way, Rezar denied the notion. He explained that the argument originated from someone in the Wyatt Sicks refusing to take one of their moves during the match, leading to a backstage confrontation:

“No. It was, uh, you know, certain moves that we did got you—some of the guys didn’t want to take it because they were, uh, yeah, we’re big guys. So if we lift you up and double spinebuster somebody 5 days, 5 nights in a row, then the 6th night, you know, somebody can complain, but don’t change it during the match.”

Neither member of the AOP has competed in the wrestling ring since their WWE release. Though Rezar recently made his succesful Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut, defeating Daniel Curtin in a bout earlier this month.

  • Kane Reveals How Late WWE Star’s Arrest Led To His Debut

Kane Reveals How Late WWE Star’s Arrest Led To His Debut

Kane has revealed the unexpected origin of his WWE character.

The Big Red Machine recently appeared on a River City Wrestling Con panel. He talked about things such as his gimmicks before becoming the brother of Undertaker, who was his favorite opponent and more.

During the talk, Kane also revealed how the idea for the most successful character came about. He mentioned that Taker had been in a feud with Vader at the time, but they needed a new one-time opponent for the Dead Man after the late WWE star was imprisoned in Kuwait:

“So, what had happened was, Undertaker was in a rivalry with Big Van Vader, and they were in Kuwait. Some of you guys remember this — the talk show host in Kuwait which is a Middle Eastern country, probably not the most progressive criminal justice system.”

    The Original Idea For Kane

Kane detailed the incident that led to Vader’s arrest. He mentioned that at the time, nobody was aware how long the WWE star, real name Leon Allen White, would be out of the picture. So they came up with the idea of Undertaker’s long-lost brother and put him under the mask so no one would recognize him as his previous characters:

“The talk show host said something to Vader, Leon, like, you know, the old ‘is wrestling fake?’ So Leon kind of roughed him up a little — not terrible — but kind of grabbed him, and he was like, ‘This fake?’ which led to his arrest in Kuwait. A Middle Eastern country is probably not going to have the most progressive criminal justice system, right? So they needed an opponent for Undertaker, and that was where the original idea for Kane came from.”

The former World Champion revealed that in the end, Vader got out of jail in a week. Thankfully for Kane, Vince McMahon liked the character so much that he decided to use it more instead of retiring it after one match.

  • Will Ospreay In-Ring Return Announced After Revolution

Will Ospreay In-Ring Return Announced After Revolution

Will Ospreay is returning to the ring.

The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion made his surprise return to AEW during the Revolution PPV this past Sunday, and now the promotion has announced details for his in-ring return as well.

The company president Tony Khan announced on X that the high-flying star will be facing Blake Christian in a one-on-one match at this Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite from Fresno, CA.

Will Ospreay had been out of action since the Forbidden Door PPV in August last year. He last competed in an all-star Lights Out Steel Cage match featuring names such as Kenny Omega, Darby Allin, Young Bucks, and Death Riders.

The 32-year-old was written off TV after this bout with an attack from Death Riders, allowing him to recover from a herniated disc in his spine.

The former NJPW star reignited his rivalry with the group led by Jon Moxley by attacking the faction at the latest PPV, and it’s likely that the stable will respond to this altercation on Dynamite.

  • Randy Orton Teases Mystery Person Involvement In Cody Rhodes Feud

Randy Orton Teases Mystery Person Involvement In Cody Rhodes Feud

Randy Orton is hearing voices but not just in his head.

The Viper was scheduled for an interview on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. As the camera cut backstage to the former World Champion, he was seen talking to someone on the phone. The conversation revealed that Orton had seen the person a couple of weeks before the events of SmackDown.

After ending the call, the wrestling legend turned to Michael Cole but said that he was not in the mood for the promised interview. Though Randy Orton did comment on his mysterious phone conversation, saying that it was a person who helped him understand his actions:

“Ever since Friday, people have been talking my ear off asking me question after question after question. Finally, I had a conversation with someone that had a brain. They said something profound to me, something that made me think about my life and made me understand who I am, what I am. They made me understand why it is I did what I did to Cody Rhodes last Friday night on SmackDown.”

Randy Orton finally ended the segment saying that he was a killer and telling Michael Cole that wrestling had ‘more than one royal family.’

This comes after the 45-year-old viciously attacked his former protege at this past Friday’s episode of SmackDown. Randy left Cody in a bloodied state after the two signed the contract for their WrestleMania encounter.

  • Unsanctioned Match And More Added To Wednesday’s Dynamite

Unsanctioned Match And More Added To Wednesday’s Dynamite

Two big stipulation matches have been added to Dynamite.

The Revolution PPV tonight saw Toni Storm picking up a victory over Marina Shafir in a singles match. The former Women’s Champion did not end the segment on top, however, as Ronda Rousey made a surprise AEW appearance, and the distraction allowed Shafir to deliver a cheap shot to Storm.

The company confirmed that their rivalry will continue after this turn of events, and announced a No Holds Barred rematch between the two women for this Wednesday’s show.

This wasn’t the only match made official as Gabe Kidd hijacked the post-Revolution press conference. This came after the team of Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy, & Roderick Strong defeated Kidd, Clark Connors, and David Finlay in a Tornado Trios Match at the PPV.

Kidd demanded an opportunity to end Darby Allin once and for all during his appearance. He proposed an Unsanctioned Coffin Match for this week’s episode of Dynamite between the two, which Tony Khan later approved.

During the media scrum, Khan also commented on Ronda Rousey’s status with the company after her debut. You can check out what he said here.

  • Tony Khan Explains Allowing Political Statements On AEW TV

Tony Khan Explains Allowing Political Statements On AEW TV

Tony Khan sees AEW as a sports league.

The company has received mainstream media attention in recent times for political statements made by talent on their programming against the current US administration. During his appearance on the Revolution post-show, the AEW President was asked about these statements and if he fears turning fans off the product because of it.

The wrestling promoter first explained that the views expressed by people such as Hangman Page and Brody King are their individual opinions rather than a stand made by the company:

“Well, I have said that the wrestlers, when they come out and express their opinions and their personal viewpoints, that’s the wrestlers. That’s who they are. AEW has people that express their authentic selves. That’s what great about the wrestling show. These are real people and when you have Hangman Page or Brody King expressing their views, that’s their individual views.”

Tony Khan then said that he sees AEW as a sports league which does not have a political opinion one way or the other, and its job is to put out the best product possible:

“The wrestling company is a sport. I don’t have any views other than the sport itself. So that’s where it’s great for the wrestlers to be able to express their own individual viewpoints, and then the league just puts out the best wrestlers, puts out the best wrestling product. A wrestling organization is not a political league.

So I do think that it’s been awesome to be able to see how many fans have gotten behind AEW and all the momentum we have as a wrestling league, but also the individual wrestlers have their own individual fans. And I think it’s one of the really great things about AEW is the wrestlers have the ability to express themselves.”

During the talk, Khan also discussed Ronda Rousey’s AEW status after her appearance at the PPV. You can check out his comments here.

  • Tony Khan Comments On Ronda Rousey’s AEW Status After Revolution

Tony Khan Comments On Ronda Rousey’s AEW Status After Revolution

Tony Khan says Ronda Rousey is always welcome in AEW.

The UFC legend made a surprise appearance at tonight’s Revolution PPV. She showed up after Toni Storm beat Rousey’s friend Marina Shafir in a singles match, and the distraction allowed Shafir to deliver a cheap shot to the former AEW Women’s Champion after the bell.

During the PPV post-show, Tony Khan was asked about Ronda Rousey’s status with the company. While the AEW President did not give a clear answer, he referenced Rousey’s ROH match from 2023 and claimed that she is always welcome in his company:

“Ronda Rousey is a huge star, so we have a great relationship with her. She’s wrestled for me before in ROH, and she’s always welcome here in AEW anytime. She’s got a big fight coming up against Gina Carano. I don’t know Gina Carano at all. Ronda’s always been very good to me. I wish her the best.”

The former WWE Women’s Champion is set to make her MMA return this May for a fight against Gina Carano. The match hosted by Jake Paul’s MVP promotions will be airing on Netflix. It’s unlikely that Rousey would be competing in a pro wrestling match before that.

Though AEW has also announced a No Holds Barred rematch between Storm and Shafir for this Wednesday’s Dynamite, so another appearance from the former UFC star is always possible.

  • New Champion Signs With AEW After Revolution

New Champion Signs With AEW After Revolution

    Mistico is All Elite.

Tonight’s AEW Revolution PPV saw the trio of Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, & Mark Davis defending their Trios Championship against the team of JetSpeed and Mistico.

The bout featured a lot of fast-paced action. At one point, Davis tried to use the title belts for their advantage after distracting the referee with a steel chair, but he couldn’t get the job done.

The ending of the bout saw Mistico sending Okada to the floor with a tornillo. The masked star then took Kyle Fletcher out with a La Mistica as well. Mike Bailey took advantage of the situation with a superkick to Davis. His partner, Kevin Knight, finally pinned the Don Callis Family member with a UFO splash for the titles.

As the trio celebrated their victory, a graphic confirming that Mistico was the latest talent to join the AEW roster was shown. Tony Khan later posted the same as well.

Apart from this, tonight’s show featured a number of other big moments, including the surprise return of a veteran tag team. You can check out more about it here.

Not Up To Me: Absent AEW Star Reacts To Revolution Returns

Britt Baker has reacted to Revolution.

Tonight’s AEW PPV featured a number of big moments. Apart from Ronda Rousey’s surprise debut, the show saw the return of the likes of Adam Copeland and Christian Cage who had been out of action since last year.

Reacting to this on social media, a fan asked the former AEW Women’s Champion to come home as well. The female star responded to the comment, saying that her return is out of her hands:

Britt Baker is one of the many names missing from AEW TV without an explanation. She has been out of action since 2024, though the former champion recently confirmed that she does not consider herself to be retired from the world of pro wrestling.

The show tonight also featured a title change in the opening minutes of the event as a Zero Hour match continued at the PPV when the pre-show time ran out. You can check out more about it here.

  • New National Champion Crowned At AEW Revolution

New National Champion Crowned At AEW Revolution

    A new National Champion.

The final match of tonight’s AEW Revolution Zero Hour was a 21-man Blackjack Battle Royal with Ricochet defending his title against the likes of Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, El Clon, Johnny TV, Daniel Garcia, Tommaso Ciampa, and more.

The fight started outside the ring as none of the contenders wanted to risk elimination by going inside, and it was some time before the action moved into the squared circle.

One interesting elimination from the bout came when Daniel Garcia ripped Komander’s mask off before sending him to the floor. Garcia then put the mask on himself, though he was then eliminated by Ciampa.

The pre-show time ran out before the match concluded, and things continued on the PPV feed. Jack Perry and Ricochet were the two final contestants of the bout. The two brawled on the apron, and Perry was able to eliminate the defending champion with a frankensteiner to win the whole thing.

Ricochet had won a 12-man Casino Gauntlet match to become the Inaugural National Champion at the Full Gear PPV in November last year. Jack Perry’s win ends his reign with the title at 113 days.

  • Veteran Tag Team Makes Surprise AEW Revolution Return

Veteran Tag Team Makes Surprise AEW Revolution Return

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage are back.

Tonight’s AEW Revolution PPV featured a big tag team championship match with FTR defending their titles against The Young Bucks. The duo of Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood won the hard-fought bout after delivering an avalanche Shatter Machine to Nick Jackson.

The champs couldn’t celebrate for long, however, as the lights went out after the bell. A ‘Revenge’ graphic with the Rated R appeared on the entrance screen before Adam Copeland’s music hit.

The former WWE World Champion came out on the stage and stared down FTR in the ring. He wasn’t alone as Christian’s music came up as well, but Copeland’s partner did not show up on stage.

Cage instead came up behind FTR and took out Dax. Copeland then got into the ring, taking Cash out with a spear. Christian finally delivered a Killswitch to Stokely Hathaway, and then the two wrestling veterans stood tall with the tag titles to end the segment.

Adam Copeland & Christian Cage have not wrestled since the All Out PPV in September last year, where they defeated FTR in a tag team match. Though the tag champs had taken out the Attitude Era stars as well as Cope’s wife Beth Phoenix after the bout so we’ll have to see if she also makes a return.

The faction had been left in a limbo when its founder, Edge, left the group in June 2022, only a couple months after its formation. The trio of Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, and Finn Balor found themselves trying to work out a new identity for the stable, and things only started clicking after Dirty Dom joined the faction in September that year.

During a recent interview with The Collection, the high-flying star was asked about his first impression of Judgment Day and whether he thought the group would find the success it has. Dominik Mysterio admitted that at first, he was not excited to be part of the whole thing:

“No, not at all. Man, I fought it for a long time. I just…I wasn’t, I don’t know, it felt like weird and hokey, like the very beginning of it, but then I was like, something happened where all four of us clicked.”

    It’s Insane: Dominik Mysterio

Explaining how things changed, Dominik Mysterio noted that the four members of the group became friends after they started riding together. The Judgment Day then took off when their chemistry in real life started transitioning into their work:

“I think that’s kind of like what made it work because we all clicked outside of the ring. We were all riding together. So it all kind of transitioned to inside of the ring and then it just, it worked man.

Like you said, there’s not one time in the Judgment Day where we haven’t had a championship or all of us covered in gold or constantly kicking people out to bring people in. It’s just it’s crazy man. It’s insane.”

The young wrestling veteran also discussed his WrestleMania direction during the interview and made an interesting offer to Penta for an IC title rematch. You can check out more about it here.

WWE Hoping For Huge Raw Cameo Next Week

WWE is hoping for a big cameo for next week’s Raw.

The company has booked some big returns and a couple of interesting matches for the March 16 episode of the Monday Night Show set for Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.

During a recent Q&A, WrestleVotes noted that the announced names are not the only ones officials are hoping would be at the show. While nothing is confirmed yet, there are people within the company who believe that the Texas Rattlesnake would be making an appearance on the episode:

“We talked to a couple people over the weekend… there have been conversations that I don’t want to say WWE has invited Steve Austin to Raw next Monday night on 3:16 day in San Antonio, Texas. But there are people who work for the company that are very hopeful Stone Cold Steve Austin will be on that Monday Night Raw just a week from tonight.”

The Attitude Era star last appeared on WWE programming during WrestleMania 41. Though he has not made an appearance on the weekly WWE TV since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Whether Steve Austin makes his surprise return to the company will only be revealed on Monday, but the promotion has still loaded up the card for the upcoming show. You can check out what’s currently confirmed for the episode here.
