  • R-Truth\’s Son Disputes Triple H Claim About His Money In The Bank Return

R-Truth\’s son has reacted to his father\’s Money In The Bank return.

Triple H was asked about WWE backtracking on their decision to release the wrestling veteran during the Money In The Bank post-show. The WWE Chief Content Officer tried to suggest that they had planned the whole thing out, saying that it was all \’part of the show.\’

Christopher Killings, the son of the WWE superstar, reacted to the PPV on his Instagram. He confirmed that his father has signed a new deal with the company, dubbing it as Truth\’s \’last run.\’ In a now-deleted story, Christopher also called out Triple H for suggesting that the whole thing was a work:

R Truth attacked John Cena during the main event tag team match. Cena, who teamed with Logan Paul, was facing the duo of Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso in the bout.

The American Nightmare was able to pin the 17-time world champion after this surprise development, potentially earning him a future title shot against Cena.

Rhodes was even asked about the same during his MITB post-show appearance, but he shied away from the answer, saying that it was a victory of their team.

Latest backstage reports also suggest that R-Truth\’s WWE return was only put together in the last few days after seeing the fan backlash. You can check out more about it here.

  • Triple H Says WWE\’s Turnaround On R-Truth Was \’All Part of The Show\’

Triple H had only a brief comment about R-Truth\’s surprise WWE return.

Fans were not happy when the news of the wrestling veteran\’s release came out earlier this month. They made their voices heard on every possible occasion, with stars such as CM Punk and John Cena being forced to acknowledge the Truth chants at recent WWE shows.

During the post Money In The Bank press conference, The WWE Chief Content officer was asked if the fan reaction played a role in the decision to bring R-Truth back at the PPV, or if there was something else that made them decide on it. Triple H answered the question in select words, saying that it was all part of the show:

\”I love that question. [Are you] enjoying the show? All part of the show, man.\”

While Triple H tried to suggest that Truth\’s release was part of the storyline, Cody Rhodes pretty much confirmed during his own MITB-post show appearance that the fan reaction was what made the officials change their minds.

The latest backstage updates also suggest that the former NWA World Champion\’s return was only finalized in the days before the latest WWE PPV. You can check out more about it here.

  • Cody Rhodes Comments On Pinning John Cena At Money In The Bank

Cody Rhodes is the foil in John Cena\’s final run.

Thanks to a surprise return from R-Truth, The American Nightmare was able to pick up a big victory at tonight\’s Money In The Bank main event. Teaming with Jey Uso, he not only defeated the duo of Cena and Logan Paul, but he ended up pinning the Cenation Leader. In the wrestling world, this usually earns Rhodes the right to challenge John for the WWE title in the near future.

The AEW co-founder was asked about this during his appearance on the post-Money In The Bank press conference. While Cody Rhodes said that he doesn\’t want to make the whole thing about himself, he noted that he was born to be in tough situations like the one against John Cena in his final run:

\”LA, thank you very much. I had someone earlier tell me, and it meant a lot to me. They said, \’You\’re swimming upstream because here you are. You\’re the foil for John Cena. It\’s John Cena\’s final run which we all wanted to see and he\’s broke the record.\’ What a position that is for me to be in.

It\’s almost a lose-lose, but the truth is, that\’s the position I was born to be in. That\’s the position that I want to be in. I\’m not going to get into the talk about rematches or what\’s next. I simply don\’t want to make tonight about myself. This was a wonderful moment that I got to share with my brother, Jey Uso, and we got R-Truth back. I\’m just happy about that. Thank you.\”

Rhodes also discussed the surprise return of R-Truth during the post show. While Triple H told the fans that it was \’all part of the show\’, Cody pretty much confirmed that the officials were forced to change their minds due to fan backlash. You can check out what he said here.

  • Cody Rhodes Comments On R-Truth\’s WWE Return

Cody Rhodes has thanked the fans for R Truth\’s WWE return.

Fans were not happy with the news of Truth\’s release from the promotion that came earlier this month. Crowds chanted for him at every WWE show and people voiced their opinion on social media as well.

All this resulted in the higher ups reconsidering their stand and the former NWA champion ended up making his surprise return to the company during the Money In The Bank PPV this Saturday night.

The American Nightmare addressed R-Truth\’s return during his appearance on the MITB post-show. Cody Rhodes said that it\’s their job to give fans what they want and thanked the people for letting them know about it:

\”The truth is, you guys wanted Truth. It\’s always our job, everybody up here, everybody over here, Triple H, Nick Khan, it\’s always our job to give you what you want, so thank you guys for letting us know,\”

Cody Rhodes ended up benefiting the most from this surprise return. After Truth laid Cena out, he was able to pin the 17-time world champion to win in the Money In The Bank main event.

In wrestling terms, this earns the former WWE champion the right to challenge for the title in near future and it\’d be interesting to see when this rematch takes place.

  • Backstage News On R-Truth\’s Surprise Money In the Bank Return

R-Truth is back, with some changes.

The beloved wrestling veteran made his surprise return to WWE at tonight\’s Money In The Bank PPV. This came after he announced his departure from the company earlier this month and the fans, unhappy with the decision, started a campaign to bring him back.

The former NWA World Champion came out during the main event tag team match between the teams of John Cena & Logan Paul and Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso. He ended up costing the 17-time world champion the match to end the night.

PWinsider provided some backstage updates on R-Truth\’s surprise return to the company. The site suggests that the return was not the original plan when the news of his release first came about.

Truth had already been in discussion for independent bookings and non-WWE appearances, and per the report, the decision to bring him back was only made within the last 72 hours.

An interesting change about the 53-year-old\’s return is that while the commentary mentioned him as Truth during the PPV, the WWE star is officially going by his real name, Ron Killings, instead.

The company wasted no time putting Truth\’s merch back on their official website after the PPV, and the tweet promoting the merchandise also refers to him as Ron Killings instead of his WWE ring name.

It\’s unknown what kind of deal Killings has signed with the promotion or how long he\’ll be sticking around. After tonight\’s development, we can expect to get atleast one more confrontation between him and John Cena in coming weeks.

  • Drew McIntyre Says CM Punk Has A \’Charles Manson-Like Quality\’

Drew McIntyre has compared CM Punk to a notorious historical figure.

The Scottish Warrior recently had an interview with Gorilla Position podcast. He talked about things such as walking out of the 2025 Royal Rumble, how things have changed behind-the-scenes in WWE with the new management at helm and more.

During the interview, McIntyre also reflected on his incredible 2024 rivalry with Punk. Specifically, Drew was asked about the promo where the Straight Edge star asked him about being \’The Chosen One\’, referring to Vince McMahon, and if he thought about taking McMahon\’s name on TV. The former NXT Champion mentioned that the thought did cross his mind but he chose to remain professional:

\”It crossed my mind. The conversation in my head [was], \’Do I do it? Do I say the same person that fired you on your wedding day?\’ It did cross my mind, but again somebody\’s gotta be the professional out there.\”

Convince People To Do His Bidding: Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre explained that the segment being in CM Punk\’s hometown of Chicago was another reason he restrained himself as the former AEW star will always be considered the babyface there. The Scottish Star went on to question fans\’ loyalty to Punk despite his tattered past, comparing him to Charles Manson:

\”In Chicago, he\’s technically the good guy even though he\’s clearly the bad guy and I\’m saying the truth nonstop but….and you can see it anywhere he goes.

Doesn\’t matter if he stands with Seth or singing his song, they\’ll instantly turn to Punk or Roman\’s out there. When he takes his vacations, he comes back, the biggest baby face of all time.

But as soon as Punk walks up, boom, \’We love that guy.\’ He has a Charles Manson-like quality. The way he\’s just able to convince people to do his bidding and love him. No matter how much I was the good guy, he\’s the \’good guy.\’\”

Charles Manson was a notorious cult leader who led a group dubbed the Manson Family based in California in the late 60s and early 70s. He was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder after members of his cult killed at least 7 people on his suggestion.

The comparison of Punk to Manson has at least some roots as the former World Champion led the Straight Edge Society during his first run with the promotion. A faction inspired by various cults, the angle saw the WWE star asking people to pledge allegiance to him to signify \’a new beginning\’ for them.

  • Backstage News On Mystery Triple H Segment Filmed Before SmackDown

Triple H filmed a segment before this week\’s SmackDown.

WWE presented the Money In The Bank go home episode of the Blue Branded show from the Dignity Health Arena in Bakersfield, California. The show featured stars such as Stephanie Vaquer, Cody Rhodes, John Cena and Rhea Ripley.

Cena with his partner Logan Paul had the final confrontation with Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso before their match tomorrow, while Vaquer and Ripley teamed up for a six women tag. The most interesting segment of the day, however, may have been filmed before the show.

According to reports from Fightful Select, a black SUV was set up for shooting in the afternoon and WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H filmed some promotional material before the show went on air.

While the site did not reveal the full script for the segment, they noted that one of the lines used during the shoot was \”anything worth doing, is worth doing twice.\”

WWE had originally announced WrestleMania 42 from New Orleans. The company has since backtracked on their announcement, revealing that the city will now be hosting the 2026 Money In The Bank PPV instead.

While not confirmed, the belief is that officials are planning to bring the Show of Shows back to Las Vegas in 2026. The mentioned segment seems to be the preparation for the official announcement of the same.

  • Would Have Went Out of My Way: WWE Veteran Believes R-Truth Should Have Been Kept Around Even With Higher Salary

Matt Hardy was as surprised by R-Truth\’s WWE departure as the fans.

The Attitude Era star announced his release from the company earlier this month, ending his 17-year run with the promotion. Reports suggest that the decision was a financial one as the company believed that his currently salary was not justified in the way they were using him.

The Broken One reacted to the news on the latest episode of his podcast. Matt Hardy said he believed R-Truth to be a WWE lifer and things would have probably turned out differently if Vince McMahon was still in-charge of the company:

\”I mean, it was shocking. You would think with the attitude and mentality he had — If Vince was there, I think he probably would’ve stuck around because Vince was such a big fan.

He was easy to work with, he wasn’t difficult, he wasn’t a challenge. It was shocking. I was shocked that they didn’t re-sign him. I would’ve thought that R-Truth would’ve been a WWE lifer at this point.\”

    He\’s An Ambassador: Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy speculated about the reasons behind Truth\’s unexpected exit noting that for TKO officials, it might have been a question of the bottom line. Though with WWE regularly touting record gates and unprecedented profits, the Attitude Era Star believes that Truth is a star that should have been kept around even if it meant paying him a little more than his perceived value:

\”I feel like not only is he [good] for the fanbase, I think he’s good for morale. He’s a great employee to have, you know what I mean? He’s an ambassador, he’s the kind of guy you want there. I would’ve went out of my way but they’re looking at it differently apparently. I was shocked by it.”

Apart from this, Matt Hardy also discussed the potential of Truth joining the TNA roster. He spoke positively about it noting how the 53-year-old has history with the company. The TNA fans have since also made it clear that they\’d love to have R-Truth in the promotion. You can check out more about it here.

  • Ric Flair Confirms Cancer Diagnosis After Previous Denial

Ric Flair has confirmed his cancer diagnosis.

The WWE Hall of Famer confirmed the news while speaking to People. Flair revealed that it\’s the second time in three years that he\’s been diagnosed with the disease and he\’ll begin treatment for it starting next week:

\”It’s the second time in three years that I’ve been dealing with skin cancer. I will be undergoing treatment next week.\”

This comes only days after the 76-year-old denied reports of cancer in response to a tweet from his son-in-law, Conrad Thompson. Flair at the time had told fans that they\’d have to put up with him for at least 25 more years.

The Nature Boy had been in the news recently for some harsh words for fellow wrestling veteran Jim Ross. The AEW announcer, who is recovering from cancer himself, was called an attention seeker by Ric Flair in a now-deleted tweet.

The Retired Professional wrestler has dealt with numerous health issues in recent years. Most notably, he faced a life-threatening crisis during his 2017 hospitalization as a result of multiple organ failure. Flair had to be put into a medically induced coma and had a lengthy stint at the hospital before being discharged.

SEScoops wishes a speedy recovery to Ric Flair.

  • NXT Titles Set To Be Defended At Upcoming Indie Show

NXT continues to expand its partnership with brands not owned by the company.

Booker T\’s Reality of Wrestling promotion announced earlier today that the current NXT Tag Team Champions Tank Ledger & Hank Walker will be returning to the promotion.

The NXT stars will be competing at the ROW show set for the Walker Texas Lawyer Arena in Texas City, TX next Saturday on June 14.

The show titled ROW Power Shift will see the title holders putting the WWE championships on the line against the duo of Big Luther & Tempo:

Booker T currently serves as an announcer for NXT. So it\’s no surprise that the brand sends some their stars to the Hall of Famer\’s promotion from time to time.

Just last year we saw top NXT stars such as Lexis King and Roxanne Perez making appearances at ROW shows. Perez has since been called up to the main roster while King remains in the development brand.

This won\’t be Hank & Tank\’s first appearance for the indie promotion as they\’ve previously wrestled for the company on many occasions. The duo even had a run with the ROW tag titles after winning them in December last year.

Though NXT titles being defended at an indie show is still a rare occurrence. They won the belts, defeating Fraxiom at NXT Stand & Deliver over the WrestleMania 41 weekend.

  • Former WWE Tag Team Champions Make Surprise Return At TNA Against All Odds

Former WWE Women\’s Tag Team Champions have returned to wrestling.

TNA presented their Against All Odds PPV on Friday, June 6, from the Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona. The show featured matches such as Trick Williams defending the TNA title against Elijah and Mustafa Ali taking on Jason Hotch.

One of the most notable moments of the night came during the Countdown pre-show, however, when the duo of Cassie Lee & Jessica McKay, collectively known as The IInspiration, made their TNA return.

The female stars previously had a run with the Knockouts Tag Team titles. They confronted the current champs The Elegance Brand during their appearance:

This was the first appearance for The IInspiration in TNA since 2022. Though they did reunite for a match against Kylie Rae & Nicole Matthews at Prestige Nothing To Lose event during WrestleMania 41 weekend last month.

Previously known as The IIconics, the duo of Lee and McKay first made their name working on the NXT brand starting in October 2016. Then dubbed as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay, the tag team quickly became a fan favorite duo to their unique persona.

The IIconics made their main roster debut in April 2018. The team\’s biggest win came at WrestleMania 35 when they defeated Sasha Banks and Bayley to win the Women\’s tag team championship. They were released from their WWE contract in April 2021.

  • SmackDown Star Turns Heel On Money In The Bank Go Home Show

Tonight\’s Money In The Bank go home episode of SmackDown featured a number of notable moments, including a big heel turn in the women\’s division.

Former NXT Women\’s Champion Giulia, who has been feuding with Women\’s US Champion Zelina Vega, met her rival in a backstage segment at tonight\’s show. Vega told the Japanese star that she\’d have to pry the title from her lifeless body, to which Giulia said that she likes the idea. The current champion apparently also told her opponent to \’bring it on\’ in Japanese during this confrontation.

Zelina Vega then came out later in the show for a Bakersfield Brawl with Piper Niven. The ending of the bout saw the US Champion delivering an avalanche Code Red on her opponent and going for the pin. Alba Fyre however, appeared out of nowhere and pulled Vega out of the ring.

She and Chelsea Green then started beating Zelina down. The trio set Vega on a table inside the ring, and Niven went on top. Though Giulia appeared out of nowhere and took out both Green and Fyre with a dive.

Zelina Vega then grabbed Piper for a powerbomb as Giulia helped her with a kendo stick. The defending champion finally sent her opponent crashing through the table to get the pin and retain her title.

The former NXT Champion picked up a confused Zelina Vega after the bell and raised her hand. Giulia then turned on the US champion and dropped her with a headbutt. The Beautiful Madness delivered a northern lights bomb. She repeated Vega\’s words from earlier in the night while raising the US title to end the segment.

  • Watch: John Cena Reacts To R Truth Chants On SmackDown

John Cena acknowledged the R Truth chants at tonight\’s SmackDown.

The wrestling veteran surprisingly announced his departure from the company earlier this month on June 1. Neither the fans nor the people within the company were happy with this decision.

Fans have been showing their displeasure with the release of the beloved Attitude Era star by chanting his name at every WWE show since the news came out. CM Punk had even acknowledged the chants off air at this past Monday\’s Raw.

The Cenation Leader did the same on the Blue Branded Show tonight, this time reacting to the \’We Want Truth\’ chants while the show was still on air. John Cena grabbed the mic and told the audience that \’You can\’t handle the truth\’:

Prior to this, Cena beat up the duo of Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso with help from his tag team partner, Logan Paul.

Rhodes and Uso were already in the ring when Cena came out. Before interacting with either, however, the 17-time world champion demanded a proper introduction from the ring announcer. During the introduction, Logan Paul came out of nowhere and attacked Jey Uso from behind.

Cody Rhodes grabbed Paul but Cena took out the American Nightmare. The YouTube star and the Hollywood actor then took their time beating their Money In The Bank opponents. The show ended with Logan Paul raising the World title while Cena held up the WWE title up in the air.

  • King And Queen of The Ring Tournaments Returning With Championship Implications

WWE has announced the return of the King and Queen of The Ring tournaments, with the winners receiving a future title shot.

The announcement was made by the Raw General Manager, Adam Pearce, and the SmackDown General Manager, Nick Aldis, on this week\’s episode of the Blue Branded Show.

The WWE officials confirmed that the upcoming tournament will be a cross-brand competition. The winners of the respective tournaments will receive a title shot at the champion of their brand at the upcoming SummerSlam PPV.

Both of WWE\’s premier brands will be holding two four-way bouts to determine the talents advancing to the semi-finals of the tournament. The finals will be held at the upcoming Night of Champions PPV on June 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

WWE utilised the same formula for the competition last year, with the Saudi PPV where the finals took place being named after the tournament itself.

Nia Jax won the Queen of The Ring tournament at the PPV last year, defeating Lyra Valkyria in the finals. Jax went on to defeat Bayley at SummerSlam to win the Women\’s World Championship.

Gunther similarly became the King of the Ring by defeating Randy Orton and earning a shot at Damian Priest\’s World Heavyweight Championship. The Ring General would go on to defeat Priest at the PPV as well.

  • News On How MJF\’s Backstage Perception In AEW Has Changed

MJF has been working on his image within AEW.

The 29-year-old is one of the most famous and successful pro wrestlers not only in AEW but all of wrestling. With the fame however, comes jealousy of peers, especially because of his young age. So it\’s not a surprise that the Salt of the Earth has been involved in a number of backstage incidents since joining the company in 2019. Though latest reports suggest that things have changed recently.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select recently provided an update on the former AEW Champion\’s stature behind the scene. He revealed that the wrestling star has worked hard on his image among his co-workers in the last few months:

\”It\’s improved a lot over the last nine or ten months, and he\’s worked hard at that. There were times when it wasn\’t great and the perception of him backstage wasn\’t great. I think a lot of that comes with being the top singles act, top tag act, and the main guy getting promo time all at once.\”

MJF had been off TV recently filming Happy Gilmore 2 featuring Adam Sandler in the title role. The movie interestingly also features a cameo from WWE star Becky Lynch and both the wrestling stars have shown respect for each other after working on the same project.

Since returning to AEW TV in March, Maxwell has been involved in a storyline with The Hurt Syndicate. He had been trying to join the group and Friedman was officially accepted into the faction during the May 14 episode of Dynamite.

  • Giulia Reveals One Regret of Her Main Roster Call Up

Giulia was also surprised by the speed of her main roster call up.

The female star officially made her debut for the company at the NXT No Mercy PPV in September last year and she immediately found herself in the title picture.

After initially failing to win the NXT Women\’s title at the brand\’s CW premiere in October, the young star captured the belt only a few weeks later at the January 7 New Year\’s Evil special. Even more surprising was her main roster call up in April this year, only 7 months after Giulia first arrived in the promotion.

The now SmackDown star talked about being fast tracked to main roster during an interview with MeraWrestling. The former Champion noted how at first, she wanted to achieve everything quickly, but she now regrets not getting the chance to learn English properly before being called up:

\”I already thought WWE\’s pace was incredibly fast to begin with but I’m truly surprised by this speed of moving up to the Main Roster in just eight or nine months. I\’m like \’Oh no, I still haven\’t properly learned English.\’ [laughs]

So I’m like \’I\’m sorry I haven\’t learned English\’ At first of course I had the feeling of \’I want to go quickly, I want to go quickly.\’ But as I wrestled in WWE, every single day, every single match, every single show. Everything was new to me. So time just flew by in an instant until today. There\’s definitely a feeling of \’Already?\’ It all feels like it happened incredibly fast.\”

    — meraWRESTLING (@meraWRESTLING) June 5, 2025

Giulia is set for the biggest match of her career when she competes in the Women\’s Money in The Bank at the namesake PPV this Saturday. She also discussed the potential of winning the briefcase and noted that she will go after Tiffany Stratton if she wins the contract.

  • \’I\’m Terrified\’: Goldberg Discusses Struggles Of Getting In Ring Shape For Final Match

Goldberg has revealed the difficulties of preparing for a wrestling return at his age.

The 58-year-old has confirmed that he will be having a retirement match in 2025. Gunther is expected to be his final opponent following their confrontation at the 2024 Bad Blood PPV, but a date has not yet been revealed for this bout.

The former Universal Champion provided some updates on the preparations for his final match during a recent appearance on the CarCast pod. Goldberg mentioned how getting in ring shape at his age is very difficult:

\”It\’s been really tough. I gotta tell you. I\’m a bitch to deal with anyway, but you know I know the date (of the retirement match) No one else knows the date, public wise.

At my age you obviously have to do a lot of different things to get yourself prepared for what I\’m about to embark upon. It\’s uncharted water because not many people my age have done that.

Not just showing up to show up, I need to show up and be me. I\’ve tapped into me a little bit more as of late. My training, with all my injuries and with my age, you know, it makes it extremely difficult to get prepared without going overboard.\”

    I\’m Extremely Limited: Goldberg

The WCW veteran went into detail of things like the strict diet plan he has to follow and what kind of training he is doing. Even with all the hard work, however, it\’s very hard for Goldberg to get into the shape he desires, because of all the \’mileage\’ he has put on his body over the years:

“I’m terrified to put those trunks on again. I may even go with different kind of trunks. I’m extremely limited because of my left knee. I can’t run. Hell, I’m working around my shoulder that I haven’t been able to use for five years.”

WWE is set to return to Saudi Arabia for the Night of Champions PPV on June 28. Though many fans believe that the next edition of Saturday Night\’s Main Event set for July 12 from Atlanta, Georgia will be a better choice to hold the wrestling veteran\’s final match.

  • Latest On Kamille\’s Unexplained AEW Absence

Some more details have come out about Kamille\’s AEW absence.

The former NWA Women\’s World Champion has not been on AEW programming for over 6 months. She broke away from Mercedes Mone during one of her last appearances and was attacked backstage in a segment during the November 30 episode of Rampage.

Not only has the company not mentioned Kamille on TV since then, but the officials purposefully excluded her from the Queen of the Ring promotional video, suggesting that not everything is right between the two parties.

Now, Fightful Select has provided an update on the missing star, suggesting that she won\’t be back on TV anytime soon. They previously reported that Wardlow, who has been on a hiatus even longer, had a meeting with Tony Khan. The heavyweight star is set for a TV role this year, and both parties apparently agreed that bringing him back before that would not be the right move.

The new report reveals that Kamille also has an upcoming TV product she\’s working on. The role is expected to keep her busy through part of the Summer, potentially affecting her AEW status. Though there is no word on whether she had a similar meeting with Khan to discuss her future or if it\’s the reason behind her absence. People within the company are effectively \’in the dark\’ about her hiatus.

In regards to the end of her partnership with Mercedes Mone, it\’s said that the AEW President didn\’t feel like the partnership was working. The TBS Champion herself was willing to work with Kamille and do a match after their breakup which obviously did not end up happening.

The female star still has plenty of time left in her AEW deal, so her absence does not appear to be similar to Mariah May. The former AEW Women\’s champion was taken off TV after she made her intention of leaving the company for WWE clear. May made her NXT debut earlier this week.

  • Always A Road Back: Pat McAfee Reacts To Recent WWE Releases

Pat McAfee believes there is always a road back to WWE for the recent releases.

The WWE commentator welcomed Sheamus on the newest episode of his show. They talked about things such as The Celtic Warrior\’s start in WWE, how he stays in shape and more.

During the interview, they also discussed the recent WWE cuts. Pat McAfee mentioned how such cuts happen in NFL as well but they affect people in wrestling more because fans are emotionally invested in the work of the talents. He then explained that there are many opportunities out there for the people who have been let go and there is always a way back to WWE:

\”A lot of guys come back, though. That\’s the wrestling business. Even more so now with how many opportunities there are elsewhere, and it feels like it\’s only growing. AAA, getting bought out by WWE and TKO. That partnership, what they\’re going to do, the amount of money [that will] probably gonna be invested in there.

TNA, seemingly all the way back, obviously AEW, still rolling, they broke a record of some sort. There are so many opportunities, but there is always a road back to WWE.\”

Sheamus also gave his thoughts on the matter, specifically mentioning R Truth. He noted how he had his first dark match in WWE against Truth and claimed that there is no way Truth does not return to the company somewhere down the line.

Despite the reassuring comments, fans have not been happy with the recent releases. They made their voices heard on this week\’s Raw and CM Punk acknowledged this off air. You can check out what he said here.

  • 21-Year-Old Jackson Drake Crowned Inaugural WWE Brand Champion

A new WWE brand champion has been crowned.

The June 4 episode of WWE EVOLVE featured a four-way elimination match to crown the first ever EVOLVE Men’s Champion. The competitors for the bout included Jackson Drake, Edris Enofe, Sean Legacy and Keanu Carver.

Enofe was the first to be eliminated from the title match. Carver picked up the NXT veteran and hit a running slam to get the three count.  Carver was the next to go as Legacy hit a 450 Splash. Drake had to help Legacy with the cover to get rid of the heavyweight star.

The ending the bout saw both the remaining contestants countering each other\’s moves multiple times. Legacy went for a German Suplex but Drake managed to hold onto the rope. He then pulled Sean into the rope and went for InJacktion.

Sean Legacy managed a counter of his own however, catching the young star mid-air. Legacy then went for Shambles but Jackson Drake countered once again, landing on his feet instead. Drake finally got the upper hand with a leaping knee and he followed it up with Unaliving to get the pin.

NXT star Je’Von Evans was at hand to present the title to the Inaugural champion. Drake celebrated with members of The Vanity Project faction to end the show.

He isn\’t the first champion to be crowned in this new iteration of EVOLVE however. Kali Armstrong became the first champion of this new era, winning the EVOLVE Women\’s title in a similar fatal four way during last week\’s episode of the show.

  • Will Ospreay Challenge And More Confirmed For AEW Summer Blockbuster

Will Ospreay has made a big challenge.

Tonight\’s Fyter Fest special of AEW Dynamite featured a segment with Tony Schiavone interviewing the Arial Assassin. We got a video package recapping Will\’s attempt to get Swerve Strickland to support Hangman Page in his upcoming match before tonight\’s segment.

This came after Ospreay lost The Owen final to Page at Double or Nothing last month. The win earned Adam Page a shot at Jon Moxley\’s AEW world title.

Ospreay started off by saying that he\’s embarrassed, and trying to get Page and Strickland on the same page was not one of his smartest ideas. He reiterated, however, that Jon Moxley is the bigger threat in his eyes, and if two bitter rivals could just put their differences aside for one night, they could take the belt off Mox.

He then targeted the AEW World Champion saying that Mox is the reason AEW sucks right now and the company is actually full of talent. Will said that he\’s starting to think maybe Swerve Strickland is also a threat.

Ospreay told the former AEW Champion that he could take a bullet for him, but he would take a bullet for AEW before that. He challenged the former NXT star for a match at next week\’s 4-hour Summer Blockbuster special.

    AEW Summer Blockbuster Match Card

This match, alongside a few other bouts were later confirmed for the upcoming show by Tony Khan. Here is the updated card for the June 11 show:

    • Singles Match: Swerve Strickland vs. Will Ospreay
    • Six Men Tag Team Match: \”Speedball\” Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, & Komander vs. Hurt Syndicate
    • Singles Match: Anthony Bowens vs. Kyle Fletcher
    • Singles Match: \”Timeless\” Toni Storm vs. Julia Hart

Apart from this, the company has confirmed that Mistico will be in action for the show but his opponent has not been revealed. TBS Champion Mercedes Mone is expected to be on commentary for the Toni Storm match.

  • Huge Winner Takes All Match Announced For All In: Texas

AEW All In 2025 may have gotten a new main event.

Tonight\’s AEW Fyter Fest special of Dynamite featured Kenny Omega defending his AEW International Title in a fatal four-way against Brody King, Mascara Dorado, and Claudio Castagnoli. The development after the bout, however, made more headlines than the match.

After Omega successfully defended his title, he was confronted by his longtime rival and current AEW Continental Champion, Kazuchika Okada.

The two stars shoved their title belts in each other\’s faces, and the segment quickly turned into a brawl. Omega managed to get the upper hand in this confrontation, forcing Okada to retreat.

    Omega vs. Okada V

After this confrontation, the company teased a big announcement from Tony Khan before the end of the 4-hour special. The announcement that came right before the main event of the show was of a \’Winner Takes All\’ showdown between the two champions for the upcoming All In: Texas PPV on July 12.

AEW has already confirmed \”Timeless\” Toni Storm vs. Mercedes Moné for the AEW Women\’s Title and Jon Moxley vs. Adam Page for the AEW title for the upcoming show. The Okada vs. Omega rematch however, is big enough to potentially main event the PPV over the other bouts.

This will be the fifth match between the two wrestling stars and the first one-on-one encounter between the two since NJPW Dominion 6.9 back in 2018.

  • AEW Star Makes Surprise Fyter Fest Return After 2 Years of Absence

    Tay Melo is back.

The female star had not been seen on AEW TV since the first quarter of 2023, when she took maternity leave. Melo gave birth to her daughter Luna Guevara in November that year.

Like many recent comebacks, her return match earlier this year came outside of AEW. Melo competed in her first match in 22 months during Stardom\’s New Year Dream event. She teamed with Mina Shirakawa to face off against Athena and Thekla.

Tonight\’s Fyter Fest special of Collision then saw a segment where the duo of Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford had seemingly attacked Anna Jay backstage. They were holding the Dark Order star by her hair when the cameras cut to backstage, and the duo proceeded to bring Jay out onto the stage.

    Tay Melo Is Back

As Bayne looked to drop Anna Jay off the stage with a slam, however, Tay Melo made her surprise return to make the save for her former tag team partner.

Melo brought a steel pipe with her, which she used to take out Ford. She then got into a brawl with Megan, and the segment ended with the security having to pull the two female stars away.

Tony Khan has previously expressed interest in adding a Women\’s Tag Team title to the company and the duo of Anna Jay and Tay Melo could be serious contenders if he does make the announcement.

  • R Truth Announces Release From WWE: Thank You For The Ride

R Truth is no longer a WWE superstar.

The wrestling veteran took to X early on Sunday to announce that he has been released by the company. Truth thanked all the fans who have supported him through his run with the promotion in his message:

\”Im sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride, Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you ??\”

This news comes as a huge surprise because the 53-year-old wrestled in a high-profile match only a few days ago, going up against the WWE Champion John Cena at Saturday Night\’s Main Event on May 24.

Starting his career in 1997, Truth is one of the last remaining active stars of the Attitude Era in the wrestling scene. He\’d been with the company since 2008 in his current run, making him one of the longest tenured members of the roster before today\’s news.

A report from Fightful Select indicates that Truth\’s release follows the recent pattern. It comes in the form of the officials choosing not to renew his contract, instead of letting him go before the end of his deal.

It means the former US Champion may become a free agent sooner than the standard of 90 days non-compete period that\’s attached to early releases, and he could appear on other wrestling programming before that.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for more updates on R Truth\’s future

  • \’You Killed His Mystique\’ Tommy Dreamer Recalls Vince McMahon Forcing Sabu To Cut Promos In WWE

Tommy Dreamer has recalled how Vince McMahon killed Sabu\’s mystique by making him talk.

Trained by The Original Sheik, Sabu took inspiration from many of the traits that made his mentor successful in wrestling. One of the biggest such characteristics was the lack of on-screen promos. The decision not to talk on camera gave a unique allure to Sabu\’s character, and was a big reason behind his early success.

On a recent episode of Talk Is Jericho, Dreamer joined Bully Ray and Chris Jericho to pay tribute to the late legend. During the talk, Tommy Dreamer recalled Sabu\’s time in WWE. He mentioned how the ECW Original had gotten success early in WWE but things changed when Vince McMahon forced him to start cutting promos:

\”Vince loved him until Vince forced him to talk. It was like the worst day ever. Paul\’s like \’They\’re gonna push Sabu to the moon.\’ This is the last time I saw Paul actually fight for something with Vince.

Vince wanted him to talk. He\’s like \’I will manage him. Do not [make him]. He\’s not a good talker.\’ And he\’s like \’You gotta be a good talker to make it in this business.\’ He\’s like \’No no no, I\’ll manage him. Let me be his [manager]. This guy\’s got the aura. Like Sheik, you know Sheik, blah blah blah.\’ [Vince\’s like]  \’He\’s gotta learn how to talk. Gotta learn how to talk.\’

Then it took a bunch of takes, and finally one delivered. I remember Vince watching with these half glasses that he had. He\’s like \’ugh, who made him talk?\’ And I was just like \’You, you did. You killed his mystique.\’ Then it was just like, eh, he\’s lumped in with all the other ECW guys.\”

Sabu wrestled people like Rhyno, Rey Mysterio, and John Cena during his early WWE run in 2006 and looked to be in line for a big push. His career suffered after he began cutting promos, however, and the wrestling veteran was released from his contract within 18 months of his signing.

Apart from this, Tommy Dreamer also revealed a unknown incident from Sabu\’s early life that inspired him to join wrestling. You can check out more about it here.
