  • Sami Zayn Responds To Ricochet Dragging Him Into Rant About WWE

Sami Zayn has seemingly responded to Ricochet.

The WWE star is generally known to use his social media only for promoting WWE storylines or to raise awareness for charitable causes.

He broke this rule recently when he posted a video of boxing legend Mike Tyson being interviewed by a young fan. The WWE Hall of Famer was asked a question about legacy, and he explained why the word is meaningless to him:

“I don’t believe in the word legacy. I think it’s just another word for ego…I’m just passing through, I’m gonna die, and then it’s gonna be over. Who cares about legacy after that?”

This post comes after the former WWE star Ricochet name-dropped Zayn in his social media rant about how his WWE main roster run \’tarnished\’ his legacy as a performer.

The reigning AEW National Champion had claimed that he was not the only victim of this situation, name-dropping people such as Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Apollo Crews. In one such tweet, Ricochet had wrote that \’El Generico has a better legacy than Sami Zayn.\’

The former WWE star has since also confirmed that he only signed one main roster contract upon his 2019 Raw debut and left the promotion when the deal expired in 2024, after the officials denied his request for an early release.

What is your take on claims of Ricochet about his main roster experience? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Backstage News On Planned Elimination Chamber Match

Finn Balor seems to be on course for another world title match.

Triple H has confirmed that the winners of the Elimination Chamber matches this year will receive title shots in their respective divisions, meaning that the current champions will not be entering the cage at the PPV.

This opens the possibility of the titles being defended in separate matches at the upcoming event, and at least one such match seems to have been confirmed.

According to Fightful Select, one of the proposed ideas for the upcoming show from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, is CM Punk defending his World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Balor.

The Judgment Day star unsuccessfully challenged Punk for the title at the January 19 Raw, and the two shared a moment of respect afterwards. Balor snapped after being denied a spot in the Royal Rumble match, however, and he ended up attacking Punk on the PPV go-home show the next week.

Finn Balor was featured in multiple video packages on this Monday\’s Raw, but he did not appear on the show in person. CM Punk did call him out right before his promo battle with Roman Reigns in the main event of the show.

It\’s unknown when this match will be officially announced but the idea is that the Straight Edge Star will accept the rematch in his \’home turf\’ of Chicago after their last encounter in Northern Ireland, next to Balor\’s home country.

  • CM Punk Rebukes Fans Complaining About Powerhouse Hobbs\’ Name Change

CM Punk does not understand the fans.

The Royal Rumble PPV saw the big debut of former AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs after weeks of speculation. He was given a new ring name, Royce Keys, upon his arrival – a move that did not go over with fans.

The Straight Edge star talked about the negative reaction over the name change during his appearance on No Contest Wrestling podcast. He was asked to name young talents that could be future stars. After mentioning Hobbs, CM Punk questioned people showing unnecessary negativity over his new moniker:

“Let\’s talk about the name for a minute. Wrestling fans are so interesting ‘cause they complain about everything. Powerhouse Hobbs, cool name, right? This is a new start, and I think Royce Keys is a pretty badass name.

Everyone\’s immediately gonna poo poo on it because they\’re used to Hobbs. This is the status quo. People will always not like new things, but then they\’ll demand new things. \’Oh we need new talent.\’ \’Ok we\’re giving you new talent.\’ But then they sour on him.\”

The debut of Powerhouse Hobbs is not the first time fans have taken a name change so seriously. There had been a lot of complaints when Io Shirai debuted on the main roster as IYO SKY at the 2022 SummerSlam PPV. Though she has since become one of the most beloved names of the current roster.

The new ring name also holds emotional value for the former TNT Champion as Royce is the name of his youngest son, while Keys is derived from his late mother\’s maiden name.

  • Mosh Opens Up About Controversial Beaver Cleavage Attitude Era Gimmick

Mosh has opened up about one of the most insane WWE gimmicks he was made to play.

The former members of The Headbangers recently spoke to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. He discussed things such as his new book, guest coaching at the WWE Performance center and more.

During the talk, he was also asked about the Beaver Cleavage character, which only survived a month but left a lasting impression on fans. Talking about the origin of it, Mosh mentioned that Bruce Prichard was huge fan of the TV series Leave It to Beaver, but he is unsure if the character originated in his mind:

\”Bruce Pritchard was a huge Leave It to Beaver fan. So everyone wants to blame it on Russo. I mean, Russo helped with the vignettes, and he was there when we did all the vignettes. But I don’t know who actually came up with the idea of, let’s have a Leave It to Beaver character, and we’re going to insinuate that he’s having sex with his mother.\”

I\’m Gonna Be On TV: Mosh

The Beaver Cleavage character was introduced in May 1999, when Mosh\’s tag team partner Thrasher was out with an injury. It started with black-and-white vignettes on WWE TV, showing the former WWE star and his \’mother\’ dubbed Mrs. Cleavage, exchanging sexual innuendos. The whole thing was quickly scrapped after just 4 vignettes and one match, with Beaver identifying Mrs. Cleavage as his girlfriend, Marianna Komlos in a worked-shoot promo.

Revealing his initial reaction to the gimmick, Mosh said that he was actually on board with it. He mentioned that guaranteed contracts were not a thing at the time. So he was ready to do anything to be put back on the road where he could start making money again:

\”When it was presented to me, I was like, okay. I was home, Glenn was hurt. He was rehabbing his knee. I’m gonna get used, I’m gonna be on TV. If I’m on TV, then I go to house shows. I make money when I’m on house shows, because back then, we didn’t have a guaranteed contract. So I’m like, sure, whatever. I’d never done singles before; other than those three matches I had my first when I first started down at Monster Factory. I was like, Yeah, this will be cool.\”

Mosh later discussed the gimmick being written off after only five weeks. He mentioned that it was around the same time as Owen Hart\’s passing, and the company was also facing some sexual harassment charges, so the decision was made to kill the character.

  • AJ Styles Talks Not Leaving His Glove In Ring After Retirement Match

AJ Styles doesn\’t know if he will ever wrestle again.

A lot of people were sceptical when The Phenomenal One put his career on the line against Gunther at Royal Rumble. Many have remained in denial even after the wrestling veteran lost the bout to the Ring General, speculating that he could go to AEW or NJPW for one final chapter of his career before calling it quits for good.

The fact that AJ Styles decided against putting his gloves in the ring after taking them off following his match, has given fans hope that we might not have seen the last of the legend in the ring. When asked about it during his appearance on Stephanie McMahon\’s podcast, however, the 48-year-old claimed that even he is not sure about the meaning behind the gesture. He seemed to deny any immediate plan to wrestle again, but mentioned that you never know what the future holds:

\”I don\’t know. I don\’t know. Never say never, right? That\’s the saying. And you know there\’s…I know there\’s, I think everybody\’s allowed at least once \’come out of retirement,\’ kind of match. I\’m not saying I\’ll do it anytime soon. I\’m just saying that…\”

    What If?: AJ Styles

Stephanie McMahon mentioned that almost everyone who has called it a career has been lured back to the ring by the thrill of the live crowd. AJ Styles then explained that he might not be able to resist a scenario like getting the chance to share the ring with his son once:

\”What if my son wrestles? The opportunity to tag with him once? You never know. There\’ll be a time when the gloves will never go back on, and it may be now, but we\’ll see.\”

Apart from this, AJ Styles discussed his retirement match and the feeling afterward in length. He talked about the backstage environment after his final bout and sharing the moment with his longtime friends.

  • Jey Uso Says He Is Still A Main Event Talent Despite What The Internet Says

Jey Uso does not care about the opinion of the IWC.

The former Bloodline star had a breakout year as a singles competitor in 2024, leading to him winning the 2025 Royal Rumble and his first world title in WWE. This success came with a lot of scrutiny, however, especially on social media. He has since returned to competing in the tag division, winning the tag team gold once again with his brother Jimmy Uso recently.

During his most recent appearance on Cody Rhodes\’ podcast, the 40-year-old talked about his current standing in the company. Jey Uso claimed that he is still a main event level star in league with the likes of Cody and Seth Rollins, no matter what the internet says:

“We’re all still competing. Especially with you, I still compete with you. Man, come on, man. Come on. I still compete with you; I still compete with Seth. I look at the top homies. Man, I consider myself a top guy, and internet, whatever. Y’all say — whatever… I’m him. I’m ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso now. Y’all know which twin I am now.”

Jey Uso also addressed the botched dive from last year that was featured on WWE Unreal and pointed out by many as reason he should not be part of the main event scene. The YEET Man admitted that he gets blown up during matches, pointing to the limited WWE schedule as a reason:

“Aye, that (WWE) Unreal stuff popped me though because when I watched it, I miss a rope. Damn, I blew up. Hit the damn top rope. Look, look, I’ll say it, hell yeah, I be tired. Damn, we only wrestle one time out the week. I had to get my stamina up but you know, damn, it happens.”

Jey Uso entered the Royal Rumble this year as well but failed to repeat his performance, being eliminated by the eventual winner Roman Reigns. You can check out Jey\’s full conversation with Cody Rhodes below:

  • Cooper DeJean Reacts To Nikki Bella Raw Reference Amid Dating Rumors

Cooper DeJean says Nikki Bella is a good friend.

Rumors have been swirling around about the WWE Hall of Famer being romantically involved with the NFL star, as they have been spending time together recently.

So it was no surprise when the Philadelphia Eagles cornerback was asked about the former champion during a recent interview with Kay Adams. It was brought up when DeJean mentioned that he would become a fun uncle soon, as one of his teammates is set to welcome a child. When Adams jokingly asked if this means Nikki Bella will become the fun aunt, Cooper simply said:

    “I don’t know about that. She’s a good friend.”

She Could Be Talking About Anybody: Cooper DeJean

This comes only a couple of days after Bella herself added some fuel to the fire with a Raw reference. During the show this past Monday, Brie teased her sister, saying that the fans were chanting \’Coop.\’ Nikki responsed to this by asking the audience if there was something wrong with having great taste in men.

Though Cooper DeJean played coy when asked to react to the reference, saying that the WWE veteran could be talking about anybody:

“She’s saying she has good taste. I mean, she could be talking about anybody.”

The football star also offered some praise to the former Divas Champion, agreeing with Kay that she is a legend and saying that Nikki is amazing at her job.

  • 4 Title Matches Confirmed For AEW Grand Slam Australia On Dynamite

AEW has confirmed multiple big matches for their trip to Australia.

This week\’s episode of Dynamite saw Andrade El Idolo picking up a huge victory, defeating former AEW Champion Kenny Omega in a singles match. After this bout, it was announced that the former WWE star will face Hangman Page at the Grand Slam Australia event, for a shot at the AEW World title.

A Jon Moxley title defence and a Women\’s Tag Title match were also confirmed during the same episode, though probably the most shocking moment came during the main event.

Brody King ended up squashing AEW World Champion MJF in less than 90 seconds to close the show, earning himself a title opportunity at the upcoming event.

AEW Grand Slam Australia Updated Match Card

    • AEW Continental Championship Match: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita

  • Brody King Squashes MJF For AEW Title Shot

Brody King has earned himself an AEW title match.

The heavyweight star faced MJF in an AEW World Title eliminator match on this week\’s Dynamite. Unfortunately for the champion, the bout did not last very long.

The Salt of the Earth was distracted by an appearance from Hangman Page at the stage right after the bell, and this allowed King to apply a sleeper hold on the apron.

The former House of Black member then made short work of wrestling\’s favorite scumbag, delivering a cannonball and gonzo bomb for the victory.

Things only got more chaotic after the bout as Andrade attacked Brody from behind. El Idolo then attacked Maxwell, only to get taken out by Hangman Page.

Page looked to make a statement by delivering a Buckshot to MJF, but the AEW champion countered with a low blow. Things came a full circle when Brody laid MJF out again with a Ganso Bomb to stand tall for the closing of the show.

The victory earns Brody King a World Title match against the 29-year-old at the upcoming AEW Grand Slam Australia event set for February 14.

  • Tony Khan On Signing Tommaso Ciampa: It Reflects Very Well On AEW

Tony Khan is excited to see Tommaso Ciampa in his company.

The AEW President wasted no time in signing the former NXT Champion after he announced his WWE exit. The wrestling veteran made his debut for the promotion on the first AEW show after becoming a free agent. This move seems to be paying off for the company as Ciampa has already established himself as a major player, winning the TNT title in his very first match under the banner.

During a recent interview with Josh Martinez, the wrestling executive was asked about the latest AEW signing. Tony Khan claimed that Ciampa\’s arrival reflects very well on AEW as a place where the best wrestle:

“I think that AEW is where the best wrestle, and Tommaso Ciampa is a fantastic wrestler. Our fans like to see the very best wrestling against the very best. And so, Tommaso Ciampa is somebody that can come into AEW immediately. Now, he’s the TNT Champion. It reflects very well on AEW and our media partners to have such a fantastic wrestler with his credentials coming into the AEW company.\”

Are You A Great Wrestler? : Tony Khan

Tony Khan then mentioned that while Ciampa had not wrestled for AEW before this, he has a long history with ROH. He noted that Tommaso Ciampa is now on the short list of people who have held both the ROH TV Title and the TNT Championship, including Samoa Joe and Brody King:

\”And I think that as a TNT Champion, or in any role in AEW, the most important thing when we bring somebody in like a Tommaso Ciampa is: are you a wrestler? Are you a great wrestler? Is there a place for you here where you can really add to the AEW roster and set up great matches for the future? And Tommaso Ciampa fits that really to a tee, literally. I think he will be a great addition for us, and now I’m very excited that he’s the TNT Champion in AEW.”

The new TNT Champion announced the continuation of the Open Challenge for the title on Dynamite this week. It was then revealed that both Roderick Strong and Claudio Castagnoli have answered the challenge, and a triple threat match will be taking place on Collision with the title on the line.

  • CM Punk On Raw Promo With Roman Reigns: I Bring The Best Out of People

CM Punk says the match with Roman Reigns is a dick-measuring contest.

The Tribal Chief made an appearance on this week\’s Raw, after winning the Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia. He was confronted by the Straight Edge Star and the two had an intense promo battle full of past references to set the stage for a WrestleMania encounter.

During his recent appearance on the Up & Adams Show, the World Champion was asked to describe the upcoming bout. CM Punk mentioned that it\’s the two top guys of the industry going one-on-one in a dick-measuring contest:

“The lore is we’re two top guys in the industry, so it’s going to be a measuring contest. You see, I’m being cautious about my words. [You don’t have to.] I can say dick measuring contest?\”

I Really Make People Step Up: CM Punk

The stories of Roman Reigns and CM Punk are intertwined in a way that makes it hard to separate fact from fiction. Punk had originally pitched the idea of Chris Hero being part of the Shield instead of Roman, and Reigns\’ rise began around the same time as the former AEW star\’s abrupt WWE exit. Ironically, their only singles match to date came during a 2014 Raw episode in early January, only days before CM Punk walked out of the company.

Commenting on the fiery start to the build for their rematch, the 47-year-old took credit for bringing the best out of his opponent, claiming that he doesn\’t really hate Reigns:

\”I don’t hate him at all. But I get that. I’m the guy that gets under people’s skin. I can draw that out of him. I really make people step up and become the best version of themselves because they want to shut me up. They want to shut me off.

And I love that because if I can get him emotional, you play against guys, you start chirping, you start talking to them, you could see it, you’re getting in their head. And if you’re in your head, you know you can beat them on the field. No doubt about that. That’s where I’m at with the whole thing.”

The match between Roman Reigns and CM Punk is confirmed to be main eventing night 2 of WrestleMania 42. You can check out more about it here.

  • Former WWE Star Makes Surprise NXT Appearance

A former WWE star was in attendance in NXT.

This week\’s episode of the development show featured multiple title matches. One of them saw The Elegance Brand defending the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Titles against Sol Ruca and ZARIA.

Before the bell rang, the camera cut to the audience and showed Daria Rae, formerly known as Sonya Deville, sitting in the stands.

In the end, Heather & M were able to retain the tag titles, thanks to Ruca accidentally hitting her own partner. Ash then sent Sol crashing into the steel steps, and the defending champions got the pin on Zaria. Rae handed the title belts to Elegance Brand to end the segment, as the challengers argued with each other.

Sonya Deville\’s 10-year-long WWE run came to an end last February when the company decided not to renew her deal. She had taken a break from the wrestling world after this and has not competed in a match since then.

Daria Rae made her TNA debut during Impact\’s AMC premiere last month, where she was introduced as a new authority figure by Director of Authority Santino Marella. Though she instantly turned on Marella and introduced Elayna Black, fka Cora Jade as the newest signing of the brand.

The show tonight also featured an insane ladder match to crown the new NXT Champion. You can check out the results here.

  • Joe Hendry Wins NXT Title In Insane Ladder Match

Joe Hendry is the new NXT Champion.

NXT General Manager Ava had announced a ladder match to determine the new NXT Champion for this week\’s episode of the development show before her abrupt departure from the company.

The bout that main evented the show saw Ricky Saints, Shiloh Hill, Sean Legacy, Jackson Drake, Dion Lennox, Keanu Carver and Joe Hendry all battling for the top prize of the brand.

Keanu Carver potentially had the most impressive performance of the night, dominating all the other contenders throughout. He forced everyone to work together to bury him under a mountain of ladders to keep him out of the competition.

The powerhouse did not stay down for too long however, as he recovered towards the ending of the match and took out almost all other contenders one by one. In the end. it was Ricky Saints who managed to neutralise him after throwing Carver out of the ring onto a broken ladder.

The former AEW star could not take advantage of the opportunity, as Joe Hendry climbed up the ladder next. The two grabbed the NXT title and after a tug of war, it was Hendry who came out victorious.

  • Piper Niven Provides Unfortunate Update On Her Injury

Piper Niven doesn\’t know when she will be back.

The WWE star provided an unfortunate update on her injury on X recently. While responding to a fan concerned about her health, the former Tag Team Champion noted that she has no timetable for her in-ring return.

The former Stardom star revealed that she is still dealing with the effects of her injury and there are days when she can\’t even stand up for more than a few minutes. Though Piper Niven confirmed that she has not given up hope about a return to the ring down the line:

\”It\’s 5 months on and some days when it\’s bad I can\’t stand up for more than a few minutes if even a minute.  Do I want to come back? Of course I do. This is all I\’ve done and all I\’ve wanted to do since I was 16 years old and I can\’t imagine doing anything else, I still love it as much as I did the first day I started.\”

I am in a good spot rn! ??

I\’m sorry I\’ve been so quiet with you guys.

I appreciate every single message and every tweet (x? Sk?) I get, even if I haven\’t liked or responded.

The truth is I\’ve been so quiet as I know you have questions but the fact of the matter is, I don\’t… https://t.co/r1DcV0ESrL

    — Slaygent P (@PiperNivenWWE) February 3, 2026

Piper Niven has been out of action since the August 22 episode of SmackDown last year, where she faced Charlotte Flair. She was then pulled from a scheduled Women\’s Tag Title match against Flair and Alexa Bliss, with Chelsea Green teaming up with Alba Fyre for the bout instead.

Reports at the time suggested that the Secret Hervice star was dealing with a career-threatening neck injury, but nothing further has come out about her status since then.

  • MJF On If He\’ll End Wrestling Career For Hollywood

MJF doesn\’t plan to follow the Rock.

The Rock left wrestling in pursuit of his Hollywood dream at the height of his WWE career in 2003 when he was 31 years old. This came not long after his cameo in the 2001 The Mummy Returns and the subsequent leading role in The Scorpion King.

The reigning AEW Champion, who has been part of some successful Hollywood projects in the past couple of years himself, was asked if he sees things progressing in a similar manner for him during his recent interview with Rolling Stone.

MJF did not deny his interest in a full-time Hollywood career down the line, but claimed that his work in the wrestling world is equally as important for him:

\”I love both equally. Knock on wood, when my body starts failing me, I think it’s incredible that I’m gonna have Hollywood to lay my flag down in. But I love doing both.\”

The Salt of the Earth put over the AEW World Heavyweight title, saying that it\’s the championship you want to hold to be considered the best professional wrestler in the world. He claimed that holding the belt is just as important for him as being part of a big-budget Hollywood project:

\”That to me is as important as being in the top-tier mega motion pictures. They’re both on equal footing to me. And as long as I can do both, I’m going to continue to do both.\”

The 29-year-old was praised for his performance in the 2025 movie Happy Gilmore 2. He is set for another role in Violent Night 2, which is expected to release sometime this year.

  • Overruled By Overlord: Seth Rollins Reveals Original Idea For Shield Breakup

Seth Rollins has revealed the original idea for The Shield\’s breakup.

The Architect recently had an interview with The Sal Licata Show. He talked about things such as where he would be during the Royal Rumble PPV, John Cena\’s recent retirement, and more.

During the interview, he was asked if the Shield triple threat was ever discussed for WrestleMania. Answering the question, Seth Rollins first revealed that the Shield were originally supposed to break up months before they actually did in 2014, with a match between Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose planned for WrestleMania that year:

\”The initial breakup for the Shield was meant to be at WrestleMania 30. Roman Reigns was gonna wrestle Dean Ambrose with Seth Rollins as the special guest referee. I wasn’t even gonna be included in the match. Luckily, that idea got jettisoned. We ended up having a pretty good next year run. Not a year but a few more months. We got the six-mans with Evolution in there, which were really good. Obviously, you get the iconic heel turn.\”

One of The Bigger Regrets: Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins then discussed how the highly anticipated triple threat randomly ended up happening at the 2016 Battleground PPV, against the wishes of all three members:

\”Then we ended up doing the triple threat randomly on a Battleground PPV if I\’m not mistaken. All three of us, Roman, Dean, and myself fought against the idea of doing the triple threat match at Battleground because we believed it was a WrestleMania main event.

We were overruled by our overlord at the time, who is no longer a part of this organization. To this day, I think at least for me it\’s one of the bigger regrets I have that we didn\’t get to do that match properly and tell the proper story at the biggest PPV of the year.\”

The former World Champion also recently commented on the possibility of a Shield reunion. You can check out his remarks here.

  • Tommaso Ciamoa Reveals First Impression of Tony Khan

Tommaso Ciampa has revealed what he thought about Tony Khan the first time they met.

The Psycho Killer made his surprise AEW debut on this week\’s episode of Dynamite. The appearance came about a week after he announced his departure from WWE, and only a couple of days after the company officially moved him to the alumni.

During his recent interview with SHAK Wrestling, the former NXT Champion talked about the whole sequence of events. Tommaso Ciampa noted that his AEW debut was put together in just 48 hours, and he only officially met the AEW President on the day of his debut:

“It’s the first time I met Tony. We briefly chatted and immediately I was like, wow, this guy’s passion is contagious. He loves his roster, his fan base. He loves All Elite Wrestling. He loves professional wrestling in general. I mean, it’s crazy how passionate he is, and even in that quick, brief encounter, I was like, yeah, you made the right choice.”

The former WWE star answered the open challenge issued by TNT Champion Mark Briscoe during his Dynamite appearance. Though the company decided to hold off on his in-ring debut, and his match with Briscoe is set to take place on this week\’s Collision instead.

During the same interview, Tommaso Ciampa also discussed the circumstances surrounding his WWE exit. You can check out more of what he said here.

  • Je’Von Evans Comments On Potential Chris Jericho Royal Rumble Return

Je’Von Evans says coming face-to-face with Chris Jericho at Royal Rumble would be insane.

The former AEW World Champion has been rumored to make his WWE return for a while but there is no confirmation on when it will actually happen. With Royal Rumble being the PPV of surprise appearances and debuts, Y2J\’s name has obviously been thrown around.

During a recent interview with the Cheap Heat podcast, Je’Von Evans, who would be entering the battle royal for the first time in his career this Saturday, was asked how he would react if Jericho showed up at the Rumble. The 21-year-old mentioned that he grew up watching the wrestling veteran so sharing the ring with him would be insane:

“Probably, honestly, I don’t know. So honestly, I’m either gonna hear it (the theme) and just be in the middle of the ring and just see if I go to blows with him. Bro, it would be insane. Insane. So I’ve never met him, but, like I said, growing up watching him, it would be insane.”

Je’Von Evans also talked about wrestling some matches on AEW Dark before being signed by WWE. The high flyer mentioned that he didn\’t think WWE would sign him at a young age and he accepted the opportunity to wrestle for AEW as a way to get his name out there.

While Jericho\’s wrestling future remains uncertain, there is another former AEW Champion who is believed to be set for a Royal Rumble debut. You can check out more about it here.

  • WWE Comments On Ava\’s Abrupt Departure

WWE has reacted to Ava\’s departure.

The NXT General Manager surprisingly announced her departure from the company this Friday. She confirmed that her appearance on this Tuesday\’s NXT was the final one in a social media post. The promotion released a statement on her exit afterward. They thanked Ava, real name Simone Johnson, for her work with the company, claiming that her impact was felt across the WWE community:

\”WWE thanks and applauds Simone Garcia Johnson for her stellar work as Ava and beyond. Her passion, dedication, and impact were felt across the entire NXT and WWE community. We wish her the very best in all future endeavors.\”

Daughter of WWE board member Dwayne \’The Rock\’ Johnson, Ava began her wrestling training at the Performance Center in 2020. Though she only had six matches for NXT after her 2023 debut, before being moved into an authority figure role with the brand.

The abrupt departure of Ava without any kind of on-screen farewell has raised questions. The WWE statement only adds to the speculations, as the company had ceased the practice of wishing people the best in their future endeavors for a while. Recent releases such as Tommaso Ciampa and Karrion Kross have not been acknowledged by the company, except for moving them to the alumni section on their website.

  • WWE Seemingly Spoils #1 Entrant For Royal Rumble

WWE may have spoiled a Rumble entrance.

This week\’s episode of SmackDown, coming live from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, featured Axiom taking on Johnny Gargano in a singles match.

The graphics that showed up during the masked star\’s entrance, however, featured the name of Bron Breakker as the #1 entrant for Royal Rumble before it was quickly taken down:

The #1 spot is usually reserved for talents set for a strong showing in the battle royal, with WWE touting them for the total time spent in the gruelling match, even if they don\’t win.

So it makes sense that someone like Breakker, who is a rising star positioned as a serious world title contender by the company in recent months, would be considered for the spot.

Whether he actually ends up being the #1 entrance or the spot goes to someone else will be revealed on the show this Saturday. In the meantime, it does give people one more thing to discuss alongside all speculation about potential returns and debuts.

What are your predictions for the 2026 Royal Rumble from Saudi Arabia? Let us know in the comments below.

Bron Breakker has gone viral more than once in the last few months over his devastating spears. This has obviously led to comparisons with The Tribal Chief, who has used the move for years and picked up victories over some of the biggest names in the industry with it.

So it was no surprise when The Head of the Table was asked about this during his appearance on Pat McAfee show. Though Roman Reigns even refused to entertain the idea that the two are similar in any capacity, claiming that there is more to the spear than just hitting somebody:

\”A finishing move is a finishing move. I\’m such a different type of performer. I\’m on a whole different level. We\’re talking about finisher? We\’re talking about the spear, bro? Come on now. You talking to Mozart here. I create real art. It\’s not just about running down a ramp and flying through the air and hitting somebody.\”

    You Gotta Evolve: Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns did offer a little bit of praise to Bron Breakker, saying that the Vision member has a full career ahead of him, but explained that he\’s got to continue evolving his game for it:

\”He\’s a great athlete, I mean, but we all are, you know what I mean? And as you get older, you gotta evolve. You gotta learn all the different nuances to this game. You gotta sharpen every blade in your set. So I think Breakker\’s got a hell of a future in front of him as long as he kind of stays out of my wheelhouse.\”

Breakker might get a chance to prove Roman wrong and match spears with him when both the stars enter the Royal Rumble match this Saturday. You can check out spoiler on a potential debut that might be happening during the bout here.

  • Roman Reigns Shuts Down Health Concerns Over Part-Time Schedule

Roman Reigns feels like he\’s 25.

The Tribal Chief has pulled back on his WWE presence over the last few years, resorting to a part-time schedule. Since 2023, the former World Champion has only wrestled 24 matches, being beaten by Logan Paul who has had 27 bouts in the same time period.

Though while providing a health update during a rare media appearance on Pat McAfee show, Reigns explained that his limited schedule is not related to any health issues. The Head of The Table said that he needed the time off to focus on his family, but he feels just as good physically as he did at 25:

“It’s been a tough couple of years for me, but at the same time, when you come off such a hell of a run, you gotta kind of just pump the brakes for a second. I got five children at home; we all wear those two important hats being a husband and a father.

You gotta be able to click…and I\’ve been on the road for a long time so I needed to be able to pull back a little bit, but I’m fully capable. I’m only 40 years old. With all the tech and all the information we have now, I feel like I\’m 25 years old. So I’m still good to go,”

When asked if he is ready to go on another legendary run like his historic 1,316-day World Title reign, Roman Reigns claimed that he is always capable of repeating that performance. The Bloodline leader suggested that he\’s not thinking of retirement anytime soon, saying that it\’s his family\’s art form and asking what else he is going to do if not wrestling.

The wrestling veteran seemed to take aim at the WWE creative during the same interview as well, implying that they have failed to create new stars in his absence. You can check out what he said here.

  • Tommaso Ciampa Reveals If He Was Fired From WWE

Tommaso Ciampa says his WWE exit was an amicable one.

WWE has received criticism over its treatment of contracts in the past few months. Stars such as R-Truth and Karrion Kross have opened up about the company\’s unfair negotiation tactics, where they offer contract renewals only at the last minute to try and lock people into subpar deals.

During a recent interview with CBS Sports, Tommaso Ciampa, who recently left the promotion for AEW, opened up about his own WWE departure. He confirmed that at least in his case, the officials had reached out about a renewal months in advance, and that his exit came on friendly terms:

\”We chatted a handful of times in the last two or three months. I just needed to do what was right for my wife and me, I have not one bad word to say about WWE. They gave me an incredible opportunity and platform. Over the last 10 years, I learned a ton. I evolved a ton. It\’s time for me to take all that and really apply it. The biggest part was the leap.\”

Tommaso Ciampa later expanded on his previous comments about the reason he decided to join AEW. The former DIY member mentioned how for the past few years he had been hearing that his NXT run was his best work, a sentiment he did not agree with.

The two choices he had was to continue being comfortable in WWE or take a chance on himself to prove that he was a better performer than people were giving him credit for, and he chose the latter.

  • Potential Spoiler On Big Royal Rumble Debut

A big debut seems to be set for Royal Rumble.

Powerhouse Hobbs has been in news in recent weeks with his decision to leave AEW despite a huge offer from Tony Khan. While nothing has been made official yet, he\’s believed to be set for his WWE debut soon with heavy speculations on how the company will choose to introduce him.

Now Fightful Select has provided a big update on the matter. According to them, Hobbs is actually scheduled to be in Saudi Arabia during the Royal Rumble weekend. Though he has not travelled with the rest of the crew as the officials most likely want to keep him hidden till the right moment.

This doesn\’t confirm that he will be entering the battle royal itself, but it\’s the booking choice that makes most sense. The Rumble this year will feature some heavy hitters such as Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and Oba Femi.

The former TNT Champion getting to share the ring with such names on his first official night would make his debut more meaningful and establish him as a big star upon his arrival.

  • Seth Rollins Reveals Where He Will Be During Royal Rumble

Seth Rollins will be on dad duty during Royal Rumble.

The Architect has remained active during his absence from the ring due to a shoulder injury, being part of the broadcast for multiple Netflix specials and doing an extensive media run with his wife Becky Lynch.

One such stop saw him speaking to The Sal Licata Show ahead of the upcoming Royal Rumble PPV. When asked where he would be during the Saudi Arabian PLE, Seth Rollins claimed that he would remain stateside, taking care of his daughter Roux:

“The time of the event kind of runs into my daughter’s Saturday activities, you know. So, while the wife is away, I’m solo dadding, and, you know, responsibilities are responsibilities. She’s got her dance class. She’s got her gymnastics class. So I’ll be doing that. I might have it on the phone while it’s going on, but we’ll see how it goes.”

Rollins\’ wife Becky Lynch is on the trip to the Middle Eastern country. A former Royal Rumble winner in her own right, The Man would be hoping to repeat her 2018 performance when she enters the battle royal this Saturday.

Though reports suggest that the company is planning something different for the Women\’s IC Champion heading into WrestleMania 42. You can check out more here.
