Four active WWE wrestlers reformed the legendary lucha libre faction Perros del Mal in AAA, ambushing El Grande Americano as he announced his challenge for Dominik Mysterio’s AAA Mega Championship. The cross-promotional attack on the June 20 episode of AAA on Fox throws the title picture into chaos.
In the main event segment, El Grande Americano celebrated his Noche de Los Grandes victory and declared his intentions of going after Mysterio’s AAA Mega title. Before the segment could conclude, NXT wrestler Karmen Petrovic interrupted him.
Petrovic stared down Americano and then Daga, Angel Garza, Berto, and Bronco Nima surrounded the ring before assaulting him.
All five wrestlers attacked Americano and left him lying in the ring. They then revealed shirts bearing their faction name, Perros del Mal, before Petrovic finished things off with a kick to the head.
After reforming Los Perros del Mal, Angel & Berto individually took their respective Instagram Stories to comment, with Berto repeating the group’s slogan[as per Google Translate]:
“Where are the dogs?”
Angel, whose WWE future was up in the air, wrote[as per Google Translate]:
“I told you the wait was going to be f**king worth it.”
NXT’s Karmen Petrovic, took to Twitter to write:
“it’s bigger than just wrestling gracias a Dios (Thank God)“
The New Perros del Mal Lineup
Los Perros del Mal originally formed in the early 2000s and was heavily active across AAA and CMLL. The original Los Perros Del Mal disbanded after Perro Aguayo Jr’s tragic passing in 2015.
The group formerly had notable former members such as current Penta and Hector Garza, the uncle of current Los Perros Del Mal members Angel & Berto.
Garza, Berto, Petrovic, and Bronco Nima are all WWE wrestlers active across NXT and the main roster. Their alignment with the AAA faction continues the company’s growing crossover with lucha libre talent.
With Perros del Mal now targeting El Grande Americano and Americano gunning for Dominik Mysterio’s AAA Mega Championship, the faction’s debut attack sets up a multi-sided title picture in AAA.
