Cathy Kelley has been called out.
The WWE broadcaster had recently revealed that she had been diagnosed with autism while speaking to Chris Van Vliet for a new interview. Later in the same session, Kelley was asked how her friendship with Kevin Owens began. While replying to the question, Cathy implied that the WWE star’s son is also dealing with the same health issues as her:
“I wanna say it just gradually grew over time. He has a lot of the same humor that my family has. And so you just end up gravitating towards people that get that. But yeah, he’s been super supportive, especially since the diagnosis, since he knows so much about it because of his son.”
Cathy Kelley Called Out
This comment seems not to have gone over well with the former Universal Champion’s family, however. Kevin’s wife Karina, called the WWE personality out in a recent Instagram story, confirming that her son has not been diagnosed with autism. She also questioned Cathy Kelley speaking about her son’s medical history without the permission of anyone in their family:
“As someone who actively tries to stay out of drama. When it comes to my child I have to speak up. Recently @CathyKelley mentioned my son in an interview. Why she would choose to talk about someone else’s childs ‘medical history’ is beyond me. What she said isn’t true.
I do my best to keep my family private. As a protective mother it really angers me when someone takes it upon themselves to talk about my children on a public platform, without my/Kevin’s/their consent. The fact I need to come out and clear this up is so ridiculous.”
Kevin Owens has been out of action since March 2025 due to a neck injury, and he has largely been off TV during this time. Cathy has not responded to the comments from his wife as of this writing.
