  • Jesse Ventura Returning for John Cena\’s Final Match

Jesse \”The Body\” Ventura is set to return to WWE this Saturday for Saturday Night\’s Main Event in Washington, D.C., according to WrestleVotes.

The WWE Hall of Famer\’s return comes as a surprise after he was absent from the November 1 edition of SNME. Reports indicated Ventura\’s one-year contract had expired following a controversial moment during the May 2025 broadcast, where he criticized the finish of Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest\’s steel cage match on live commentary.

\”What kind of BS is that?\” Ventura exclaimed when Priest won by walking out the cage door. WWE later edited his comments from the official YouTube upload, and backstage sources indicated the incident affected his standing with the company.

Despite the fallout, WWE has brought Ventura back for one of its most significant events of the year. Saturday Night\’s Main Event XLII will feature John Cena\’s retirement match against Gunther, who won the \”Last Time Is Now\” tournament to earn the opportunity.

The event airs December 13 at 8 PM ET on Peacock in the United States and YouTube internationally from the Capital One Arena.

Saturday Night\’s Main Event XLII Card:

    • John Cena vs. Gunther (Cena\’s Final Match)
    • Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Oba Femi (WWE Championship)
    • Bayley vs. Sol Ruca
    • AJ Styles & Dragon Lee (c) vs. Je\’Von Evans & Leon Slater (WWE World Tag Team Championship)

    Season 2 Focus

Season 2 will cover several major storylines, including R-Truth\’s initial WWE departure and subsequent return at Money in the Bank following significant fan backlash. Seth Rollins\’ \”Ruse of the Century\” – his worked knee injury angle that Paul Heyman later confirmed was an elaborate ruse culminating in a surprise Money in the Bank cash-in at SummerSlam – is also expected to be featured prominently.

Jelly Roll\’s journey training at the WWE Performance Center ahead of his SummerSlam tag team match alongside Randy Orton against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre will likely be showcased as well.

  • Dralistico Undergoes Surgery, Posts Hospital Update

AEW star Dralistico underwent surgery on Wednesday, sharing a clip on social media from the hospital. The La Facción Ingobernable member posted the update with the caption \”The day has arrived,\” accompanied by ambulance and hospital emojis.

The surgery comes after reports emerged that the 31-year-old luchador suffered injuries to his ear in two separate matches. According to the Wrestling Observer\’s Bryan Alvarez, Dralistico continued working through the pain in hopes of securing more opportunities on AEW\’s main roster shows, but eventually the injury became too severe and medical professionals advised surgery was necessary.

\”Dralistico suffered injuries to his ear in two different matches. He also worked through it since he was hoping to get regular work on the main roster, but eventually it became too painful and he was told he\’d need surgery to fix it,\” Alvarez reported in late November.

Dralistico hasn\’t appeared on AEW television since the October 30 taping of AEW Rampage, where he teamed with Rush and The Beast Mortos to defeat BEEF, JD Drake, and The Butcher. During the December 7 episode of AEW Collision, the broadcast team addressed his absence by noting that both Dralistico and his brother Rush were \”at home with family matters.\”

The timing is particularly challenging for La Facción Ingobernable, as Rush is also dealing with a serious knee injury that forced him to vacate the ROH World Tag Team Championship he held with Sammy Guevara. Rush\’s injury also caused changes to the ROH Final Battle card, converting his scheduled world title match against Bandido into a Survival of the Fittest elimination bout.

There is no official timeline for Dralistico\’s return to AEW programming. The Mexican star signed a four-year contract with AEW in November 2023 after previously being passed over by WWE. He is the son of legendary luchador Toro Blanco and the brother of Rush.

  • Andrade Was Wrong About John Cena: ‘I Understand Now Why He’s on Top\’

Andrade admits that his perspective on John Cena completely changed after working alongside the 17-time World Champion inside a WWE ring earlier this year.

Speaking in a Spanish-language interview on Soy Eduardo Bates, the former NXT Champion revealed that as a young wrestler, he questioned why Cena was on top when other performers did more athletic moves. It wasn’t until he experienced WWE firsthand that he understood Cena’s genius.

“When you’re young, right? Yeah, if he doesn’t do many things, I do more, I do this, that, but when you’re in WWE, you see wrestling differently and you see everything, you realize and say, ‘No, well it’s John Cena, John Cena is there for a reason,\’” Andrade explained. (Translated from Spanish)

According to Andrade, Cena’s true brilliance lies not in athletic moves but in his ability to command an audience and create memorable moments. He described watching Cena work as a masterclass in crowd psychology.

“He creates the spectacle for the people and that’s why he has so much following, that’s why so many people remember him, that’s why everything, because he knew how to manage the crowd,” Andrade noted.

    https://youtu.be/wrMWeCEevQc?si=LgOWkoenLn5CRVEI

Learning from the Greatest of All Time

The Mexican star outlined specific lessons he learned from observing Cena, including the importance of listening to the crowd above all else and maintaining awareness of every element in the arena.

“You learn that you have to listen to the people a lot. You have to find a way. You learn a lot that he’s mostly in everything, he’s enjoying the match, but he has eyes everywhere. He has eyes on the cameras, where the cameras are, where the people are,” he said.

Perhaps most impressively, Andrade noted that Cena is always thinking about the television audience while simultaneously performing for the live crowd—a multitasking skill that separates good wrestlers from legendary ones.

Andrade compared great wrestling matches to movies, explaining that audiences remember the entire story, not just individual fight sequences. This philosophy shift helped reshape his own approach to the business.

The comments come as John Cena prepares for his final match this weekend. Andrade’s tribute serves as a reminder of the impact Cena has had on an entire generation of performers who came up watching him main event.

  • Shiloh Hill Makes Dominant NXT Debut, Defeats Lexis King

WWE LFG Season 2 winner Shiloh Hill made his long-awaited NXT in-ring debut on tonight’s episode, defeating Lexis King in impressive fashion.

Hill wasted no time making an impact, immediately tossing King over the top rope and taking control from the opening bell. In a memorable moment, Hill removed his mouth guard — complete with a fake tooth — and handed it to the referee before unleashing a flurry of offense that ended with his finisher, Whisper to the Beast.

The 26-year-old earned his NXT contract by winning LFG under The Undertaker’s mentorship. His real name is Thunder Justice Keck, a former Stanford football player with an impressive athletic background including being an all-state hockey player and New Hampshire state champion in the 400m.

Hill’s path to WWE is tied to personal loss — his father, a huge wrestling fan, passed away during his junior year at Stanford. WWE recruiters happened to visit the school shortly after, and Hill was wearing a WrestleMania shirt the day they arrived.

“My goal is to establish myself… that I can be a guy who can carry this brand, and then eventually move on to Raw and SmackDown,” Hill told Click Orlando. “Eventually main event WrestleMania.”

With his unique look, athletic pedigree, and connection to The Undertaker, Hill appears to be someone WWE is positioning for a significant push.

  • Jade Cargill Originally Planned To Be A Child Psychologist Before Wrestling Found Her

WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill has revealed that pro wrestling was never part of her original career plan. Before entering the the squared circle, she was on track to become a child psychologist.

Speaking on the Going Ringside podcast, Cargill reflected on how unexpected her wrestling journey has been, tracing her path from Jacksonville University athlete to the top of WWE’s women’s division.

“I believe this industry chose me. You know, it kind of came to me. This was something that if you would have asked me five years ago if I was going to be a professional wrestler, I probably would sit back and say, ‘How? Why? When? I don’t understand.’ Because I wanted to be a child psychologist and I went on to do that,” Cargill explained.

Cargill attended Jacksonville University, where she played basketball and developed the competitive mindset that would eventually serve her in wrestling. She credits her college experience for instilling the drive that propelled her success.

“My relentless from being at Jacksonville University and working under such a phenomenal staff of coaches, I just wanted to go for something and I did it and here I am as your champ,” she said.

The journey from aspiring psychologist to WWE Women’s Champion is one of the more unconventional paths in recent wrestling history. Unlike many wrestlers who grew up dreaming of the business, Cargill stumbled into it through a friendship with Shaquille O’Neal that led to her AEW debut.

Now as champion, Cargill has embraced her role as one of wrestling’s biggest stars. After one year in WWE, Cargill reflected on her journey, noting that fan acceptance exceeded her expectations.

“Thank you for having me. I love Jay… and Jacksonville in general,” she said, using the local nickname for her city.

Her transformation from collegiate basketball player to dominating wrestler proves that sometimes the best career moves are the ones you never planned.

  • John Cena Opens Up About Marriage Transformation: \’I Had No Connection In My Life\’

John Cena opened up about how marriage fundamentally transformed his approach to life and work, revealing he spent years as an isolated workaholic before finding balance through partnership.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the 17-time world champion shared candid reflections on his personal growth ahead of his December 13 retirement.

\”I just looked around. I\’m like, what am I doing? I have no connection in my life,\” Cena admitted about his pre-marriage existence.

The wrestling icon described how his \”hardest worker in the room\” mentality became destructive over time.

\”I do too much heroin, we got to get you to a doctor. I work too much. Oh, you\’re on the grind, bro. It\’s admirable.. You get a dopamine rush for wanting to work,\” Cena explained about society\’s acceptance of workaholism. \”Severed friendships, no real connections. If you\’re with me, you\’re riding my coattails, hold on cuz we\’re doing this my way.\”

Marriage Changed Everything for John Cena

Marriage changed everything. Cena described what true partnership requires – and why he wasn\’t ready for it in previous relationships.

\”It\’s giving when you have no time. It\’s listening when you have no patience. It\’s reaching out a hand when they\’re knocked down. It\’s encouraging the growth of your partner\’s journey as well as your own. It\’s doing things together. It\’s talking about everything together. There are no hidden spaces.\”

His wife has attended every show since the \”Summer of Cena\” began, experiencing roughly 100 WWE events.

    Life After Wrestling

Looking ahead to December 14 and beyond, Cena expressed excitement about exploring life outside wrestling.

\”I\’m more concerned about what my life looks like. I\’m also okay with being driven in purpose by life, by being a good husband, by mastering an instrument or taking a long drive or going to see the world cuz I\’ve only seen arenas and airports.\”

The transformation from isolated perfectionist to team player represents what Cena considers his greatest personal achievement – and proof that he\’s ready to step away from wrestling permanently.

  • John Cena Cries Watching CM Punk Reunion: \’That Transcends Wrestling\’

John Cena revealed that his emotional reunion with CM Punk in Saudi Arabia transcended wrestling and left him crying before the match even began.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Cena described their reconciliation at Crown Jewel as one of the most meaningful experiences of his farewell tour.

\”Favorite moment with Punk in Saudi. That transcends wrestling, dog. That\’s to see cultures bridged, to see genuine forgiveness. I\’m watching that pre-show balling,\” Cena admitted.

The 17-time world champion explained why the moment held such profound significance beyond their decade-long rivalry.

\”Unfolding before our eyes is accountability and genuine forgiveness and like the bridging of cultural gaps. People who might not know a lot about each other or understand each other, they\’re getting along in harmony through this one thing that we dig. Wrestling.\”

    John Cena\’s Wrestling Soulmate

Cena went further, describing Punk as his \”wrestling soulmate\” – a remarkable statement given their well-documented animosity over the years. Their feud, which peaked during Punk\’s legendary 434-day WWE Championship reign, became one of the most heated rivalries in modern wrestling history.

The emotional weight of their reconciliation nearly broke Cena\’s composure during the match itself. When Punk told him \”I miss you already\” in the ring, Cena admitted he almost couldn\’t maintain his character.

\”\’I miss you already\’ almost made me break,\” Cena confessed, highlighting just how genuine the emotional connection had become.

For Cena, witnessing Phil Brooks – the man behind CM Punk – travel to Saudi Arabia and display such vulnerability represented something bigger than sports entertainment. It was a testament to forgiveness and second chances that resonated far beyond the wrestling ring.

Another match has been added to the card for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Washington, D.C.

During Monday’s WWE Raw, it was announced that Je’Von Evans and TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater will team up to face WWE World Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Dragon Lee at the historic event.

The match continues John Cena’s vision for his final show to serve as a showcase for young talent. Cena has stated the exhibition matches on the card will be “non-canon,” meaning the World Tag Team Titles will not be on the line.

    Rising Stars Get Major Opportunity

Evans comes into the match with major momentum after winning the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline on Saturday, earning himself a future NXT Championship opportunity at New Year’s Evil 2026. The 21-year-old has been one of NXT’s most dynamic rising stars throughout 2025.

Slater, the youngest TNA X-Division Champion in history, was pulled from indie bookings in Germany and the UK this weekend, fueling speculation about his involvement at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

The British high-flyer has been teaming with Evans across NXT and TNA programming in recent months, developing impressive chemistry as a duo.

  • Masked Attacker Returns on Raw, Hits Rey Mysterio With Curb Stomp

The mysterious masked figure from Survivor Series made their return on the December 8, 2025 episode of WWE Raw, attacking Rey Mysterio and delivering another curb stomp reminiscent of Seth Rollins\’ signature finisher.

The attacker is the same individual who interfered in the men\’s WarGames match at Survivor Series, where their involvement helped Bron Breakker and Logan Paul\’s team defeat Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and The Usos. WWE has yet to acknowledge the identity of the masked figure on television.

Austin Theory was rumored to be under the mask during the Survivor Series interference, though this has not been confirmed. The use of Rollins\’ curb stomp has added another layer of intrigue to the mystery, though Rollins himself is considered an unlikely candidate.

The attack on Mysterio ties directly into his escalating issues with Logan Paul following their heated backstage confrontation and Rey\’s slap to Paul on the December 1 episode of Raw.

With the masked figure now targeting Mysterio specifically, the storyline appears poised to play a central role in the Rey-Logan Paul feud heading into 2026.

  • John Cena Reveals 70 Unreleased Tracks From His Platinum Rap Album

John Cena has revealed that approximately 70 tracks were left on the cutting room floor during the making of his 2005 debut album “You Can’t See Me.”

The 17-time World Champion opened up about his music career in an exclusive interview with Tom Rinaldi for Billboard, with the full sit-down set to air tonight following Monday Night Raw on WWE’s YouTube channel.

“There’s like 70 lost tracks of the album that never made it out,” Cena said. “I was able to shave off the ones that shouldn’t make and give you the ones that should, and I’m lucky to get that.”

The revelation comes as the RIAA-certified platinum album celebrates its 20th anniversary. Released on May 10, 2005, the project debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and featured Cena’s iconic entrance theme “The Time Is Now.”

    One and Done

Despite the album’s commercial success, Cena confirmed there will be no follow-up and the unreleased tracks will remain locked away.

“It is a young man’s game and I’m not in it anymore,” Cena explained. “The rapping thing was an accident. I listened to the music they played for me and I’m like, ‘I can do better than this — wait I could do better than this.\’”

Cena’s final WWE match takes place this Saturday at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where he faces World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER.

  • \”Mr. Electricity\” Steve Regal Dead at 73

Former AWA star Steve Regal, known as \”Mr. Electricity,\” has passed away at the age of 73.

Regal died on July 30, 2025, in Greenwood, Indiana, according to his obituary. PWInsider reports his passing was not widely known within the wrestling industry until recently, with promoters still attempting to contact him for convention appearances.

The National Wrestling Alliance issued a statement on his passing: \”The National Wrestling Alliance is saddened to note the passing of former NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion \’Mr. Electricity\’ Steve Regal. Defeating Denny Brown for the title, this flashy and charismatic grappler reigned atop pro wrestling\’s junior heavyweight in 1986.\”

Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Regal began his career in 1977 and found his greatest success in the AWA during the mid-1980s. He defeated Buck Zumhofe for the AWA Light Heavyweight Championship on March 25, 1984, holding the title for 613 days.

While still Light Heavyweight Champion, Regal teamed with \”Gorgeous\” Jimmy Garvin to defeat the Road Warriors for the AWA World Tag Team Championship on September 29, 1985. The duo lost the titles to Scott Hall and Curt Hennig in January 1986.

Regal later won the NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship from Denny Brown, making him the only wrestler in history to hold both the AWA Light Heavyweight and NWA Junior Heavyweight titles simultaneously.

He was the son-in-law of wrestling legend Wilbur Snyder.

  • CM Punk Reveals Bray Wyatt’s WrestleMania Prophecy That Never Came True

CM Punk has shared a poignant memory of the late Bray Wyatt, revealing that Wyatt once predicted the two would eventually face off at WrestleMania.

During WWE’s “Break It Down” series, the World Heavyweight Champion recalled an encounter with Wyatt after he was sent back to developmental as the Husky Harris character.

“He was in high spirits and he said to me, ‘Hey, don’t worry man,’ he’s like, ‘I’m gonna go back down there, I’m gonna figure myself out and I’m gonna come back up here and someday me and you are gonna meet at WrestleMania,’ and I thought that was really cool.”

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RalNIOc8CC8

The dream match never came to fruition. Wyatt tragically passed away in August 2023 at the age of 36. Punk himself departed WWE in 2014 and didn’t return until late 2023, making it impossible for the two to ever share a WrestleMania stage together.

Punk’s reflection on Wyatt’s optimism and determination during a low point in his career paints a picture of the man behind the character – someone who believed in his ability to reinvent himself and reach the pinnacle of the industry.

Wyatt did indeed transform himself, creating the iconic Bray Wyatt character and later “The Fiend,” becoming one of WWE’s most beloved and creative performers before his untimely death.

The revelation adds to the legacy of both men – Wyatt’s unwavering belief in his destiny, and the unfulfilled potential of what could have been one of WWE’s most compelling WrestleMania matches.

  • Paramount Launches $108 Billion Counter-Bid for Warner Bros. Discovery

Just days after Netflix appeared to secure a deal to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, Paramount has thrown a wrench into those plans with a hostile takeover attempt.

Paramount, now led by David Ellison following the Skydance merger, announced Monday it has launched an all-cash tender offer of $30 per share for WBD — totaling $108.4 billion in enterprise value. The offer represents a 139% premium over WBD’s stock price before acquisition talks began.

    Not So Fast, Netflix

The move directly challenges Netflix’s announced acquisition, which valued WBD at $82.7 billion through a mix of cash and stock.

“WBD shareholders deserve an opportunity to consider our superior all-cash offer for their shares in the entire company,” Ellison stated in the press release. “We believe the WBD Board of Directors is pursuing an inferior proposal which exposes shareholders to a mix of cash and stock, an uncertain future trading value of the Global Networks linear cable business and a challenging regulatory approval process.”

Paramount’s offer provides $18 billion more in cash than the Netflix deal and expires January 8, 2026.

As previously reported, Netflix faced significant regulatory hurdles to close its acquisition. Paramount is now positioning its bid as the faster path to completion, arguing that Netflix’s deal would create an anticompetitive streaming monopoly with 43% of global SVOD subscribers.

Warner Bros. Discovery owns TNT and TBS, the broadcast homes of AEW programming. The outcome of this bidding war will determine AEW’s future television partnership.

  • Jade Cargill Confirms Marvel Discussions About Playing Storm In X-Men

WWE Women\’s Champion Jade Cargill has confirmed that her team has been in active discussions with Marvel representatives about potentially playing Storm in a future X-Men project.

Speaking to Scott Johnson on the Going Ringside podcast, Cargill revealed that this is no longer just fan speculation. Real conversations are happening behind the scenes about bringing the iconic weather-controlling mutant to life on screen.

\”I\’ve had my people talk to a certain amount of people. I\’m hoping that things do transpire and they do see that this is something that I\’ve always been passionate about my entire life. Let\’s keep our fingers crossed, guys,\” Cargill said.

The connection between Cargill and Storm runs deep. She\’s used the \”Storm\” nickname throughout her wrestling career, and her physical presence has drawn comparisons to the Marvel character from fans for years.

When asked about the role, Cargill expressed supreme confidence in her natural fit for the part.

\”Of course. We don\’t have to use any of the CGI. This is how it looks. Like, what do we need? What do we need, guys?\” she declared.

Playing Storm would represent a significant Hollywood breakthrough for Cargill, following the path of other WWE stars like Dwayne \”The Rock\” Johnson, John Cena, and Dave Bautista who successfully transitioned from wrestling to major film franchises.

Cargill emphasized that portraying Storm isn\’t just a career opportunity but a genuine passion project. The role has been on her radar since long before she entered professional wrestling, making any potential casting a dream come true for the current Women\’s Champion.

With WrestleMania on the horizon, Cargill is positioned for maximum visibility on WWE\’s biggest stage. A successful title defense there could only strengthen her case for the coveted Marvel role.

    • Carlos Silva Insists WWE-TNA Partnership is Strong

TNA Wrestling President Carlos Silva has definitively shut down rumors that WWE\’s partnership with the company is coming to an end, revealing that the relationship is stronger than ever and that WWE actually helped TNA secure its new AMC television deal.

Appearing on The Ariel Helwani Show last week, Silva addressed speculation head-on when asked about reports suggesting WWE intended to end the NXT-TNA partnership.

\”There\’s zero there like factual anything to that statement,\” Silva declared. \”Things are going great. I mean, Leon Slater was on the CW last night in an eight-way on the NXT show. Lee Ying just won the belt back at Madison Square Garden just a few weeks ago. Things are great.\”

Silva went further, explaining that the new AMC platform actually enhances the partnership\’s value for both companies.

\”I think they\’re going to just be even better now that hopefully we\’ll be able to give a little bit back to WWE and NXT by having their superstars come on AMC Network, a bigger platform that is good for everybody,\” he added.

WWE\’s Role in TNA Securing the AMC Deal

The TNA President also credited WWE\’s involvement as a major factor in securing the AMC deal in the first place, highlighting how the partnership elevated TNA\’s profile over the past year.

\”Did they help us? Absolutely,\” Silva acknowledged. \”I mean our 2025 was great because of WWE and NXT. So many integrations, you know, Joe Hendry running into WrestleMania, so many, you know, every Tuesday night we\’ve been on the CW on NXT. I think all of that exposure absolutely helped us get the AMC deal done. It helped to elevate TNA as a platform and we\’re super appreciative for it.\”

Silva also shared a memorable moment from the partnership, recounting how Shawn Michaels personally allowed him to present the TNA Knockouts Championship to Lei Ying Lee at Madison Square Garden after she became the first Chinese world champion in company history.

\”It was really nice that Shawn Michaels and the team allowed me to go into the ring and give her her TNA belt, now as the world champion, first Chinese world champion ever. Amazing moment,\” Silva said.

During an appearance on WWE\’s \”Break It Down\” series, the World Heavyweight Champion reflected on his decision to honor the Macho Man despite corporate pushback.

\”Somebody very high in the office walked past and saw it and found me and said, \’Do not wear that gear on television.\’ And I said, \’You got it,\’ and I wore the gear on television because that\’s what I do. I\’m gonna pay homage to Randy Savage whether you like it or not.\”

Punk explained why Savage meant so much to him and why he felt compelled to make the tribute despite the risk.

\”As a fan, Macho Man to me was, you know I\’m a hardcore wrestling fan so we tend to gravitate towards the guys that we feel aren\’t getting the spotlight we think they deserve. We maybe feel like, oh, Macho shoulda been in Hogan\’s spot.\”

The champion drew a direct line between fans\’ passion for Savage and their current support for him, explaining how understanding that connection has shaped his career.

\”Really like that kind of passion, that I had as a fan, and that fans in turn have for me, is really kinda what has propelled me throughout my career. It\’s what helped me feuding with John Cena, and it\’s really helped me understand the fans and connect with them a little bit better.\”

The legendary performer\’s willingness to acknowledge his changed perspective demonstrates the growth that comes with age. What once seemed incomprehensible to a young Sting now represents the culmination of an extraordinary career that few could have predicted would span so long.

    • Sting Praises AEW, Tony Khan & Darby Allin: \’It Felt Like Home To Me\’

Sting has explained why AEW felt like the perfect destination for his final wrestling run, describing Tony Khan’s promotion as feeling like “home.”

The wrestling legend, who worked for WCW, WWE, TNA, and AEW throughout his career, was asked to compare his experiences across the different promotions during a recent interview with Scott Johnson for Going Ringside. His answer was unequivocal about where he felt most comfortable.

“They’re all different in some ways, but the thing that I liked about AEW is it just felt like my brand,” Sting stated. “They just felt.. it felt like home to me.”

      Tony Khan as a Boss

The Icon reserved particular praise for AEW president Tony Khan, crediting him with making his final run possible. Khan’s leadership style clearly resonated with the veteran performer.

“He was the best. He was phenomenal. Treated me like gold the whole way through,” Sting said of Khan. “And yeah, I mean, yeah, if it wasn’t for Tony, I wouldn’t have had the run that I had.”

      Sting on Darby Allin

Sting also acknowledged the importance of his partnership with Darby Allin, which became one of the defining storylines of his AEW tenure. The pairing of the veteran legend with the rising star created memorable moments throughout Sting’s final years in the ring.

“Darby, my partner,” Sting added. “Darby was your partner. A great up-and-coming wrestler. Still amazing. Yeah, absolutely.”

The comments highlight how AEW’s approach to utilizing legends differs from other promotions. Rather than simply cashing in on nostalgia, Khan’s company provided Sting with meaningful storylines and creative freedom that allowed him to finish his career on his own terms.

After spending time with multiple major wrestling organizations, finding that sense of belonging at the end of his career clearly meant something significant to the five-decade veteran.
