Pat McAfee’s Obscene Gesture Forces WWE To Blackout Live Feed During SmackDown

Pat McAfee recently caused a production blackout during this week’s edition of WWE SmackDown after repeatedly making inappropriate gestures toward the crowd. The former NFL punter’s actions forced the production team to momentarily cut the live feed to maintain broadcast standards.

McAfee appeared on the show with what was described as good news for fans still looking to attend WrestleMania 42 on Saturday. However, as he made his entrance, he began aggressively gesturing toward those in attendance, repeatedly flipping off the crowd.

The gestures crossed WWE’s broadcast standards, forcing production to black out the live feed. Camera operators quickly adjusted their shots to avoid capturing the inappropriate gestures and keep the segment within the company’s PG guidelines.

Last night’s edition of SmackDown featured Pat McAfee, who cut another controversial promo with Cody Rhodes. They exchanged insults before Randy Orton attacked Jelly Roll backstage. ‘The American Nightmare’ tried to help Jelly Roll but ended up getting attacked by both Randy Orton and McAfee.

  • Shawn Michaels Denies Bret Hart ‘Lovers’ Claim About Vince McMahon

Shawn Michaels Denies Bret Hart ‘Lovers’ Claim About Vince McMahon

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels recently directly addressed Bret Hart’s bold allegations from late 2025, flatly denying claims that he and Vince McMahon had a relationship. The NXT head spoke candidly on The Ringer Wrestling Show on April 10, 2026, marking his first public response to the controversy.

Last year, during an interview, Bret Hart stated that he felt “caught between two lovers” and claimed that he was betrayed and “screwed over,” and argued that HBK was jealous of his position in WWE. ‘The Hitman’ reckoned this jealousy led to Michaels sleeping with McMahon.

Michaels acknowledged hearing the claims but made his position immediately clear. He said:

“You know, so—and I’ve heard him, yeah. So I hear about whatever—doing things with Vince—which you go like, ‘What are you going to do?’ It never happened.”

Shawn Michaels Chooses Not to Escalate

Rather than firing back at Hart, Michaels took a measured approach to the situation. HBK suggested the narrative is simply part of the wrestling business and doesn’t warrant serious attention.

“But, you know, it’s the wrestling business. I don’t know what’s out there anymore. I’m never sure what’s out there to get a rise out of people or to make things—it’s the wrestling business, and I just don’t put a lot of stock in that.”

The Hall of Famer then referenced a conversation with Hart, noting that not everyone will interpret things the same way.

“All I know is we had a nice conversation in the room—how to put his suspenders on. He went out there. I—you know, there might be things that he doesn’t like. I understand that. And there’s lots of things people don’t like. Everybody has a right to their opinion on everything these days. I don’t begrudge anyone that,” he said.

With Shawn Michaels now on record denying the allegations outright, the ball is back in Hart’s court if he chooses to continue the public exchange.

  • WWE Star Claims Locker Room Is Unhappy With Pat McAfee WrestleMania 42 Storyline

WWE Star Claims Locker Room Is Unhappy With Pat McAfee WrestleMania 42 Storyline

One-half of the WWE Tag Team Champions Damian Priest publicly slammed Pat McAfee’s involvement in the Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton rivalry ahead of WrestleMania 42. ‘The Archer of Infamy’ revealed widespread locker room frustration with the storyline direction.

Speaking with Gabby LaSpisa, when asked about McAfee’s surprise addition to the Undisputed WWE Championship picture, Priest didn’t hold back his feelings about the situation. He said:

“It sucks. Not a fan. You know, I know Pat, I get along with him, but for me, that’s not my taste.”

Locker Room Frustration Over McAfee’s Role

Priest believes the NFL legend’s inclusion doesn’t benefit the storyline heading into WWE WrestleMania 42 and that McAfee “didn’t need it.” He also revealed that younger talent in the locker room have approached him about the situation.

“So for me, and I’m sure a lot of people aren’t gonna be happy that I said that, but in the locker room specifically, a lot of us weren’t happy. And that’s real. I was asked by some of the younger talent what I thought, and I told them I thought it was bull.”

The former US Champion took issue with McAfee receiving special treatment on WWE’s PG programming.

“We’re a PG show, right? But he can come in, throw f-bombs, and say whatever he wants. For me, that’s one of those things where so many other talents could benefit from even one word, and it’s like, wow, now they’re up here.”

“Instead, you take somebody who’s not even here all the time, who gets away with saying something like that, and who doesn’t even need it. Not gonna lie, it kinda pissed me off.”

Reports suggest Pat McAfee was not in favour of the storyline when WWE approached him initially. He was WWE’s first preference for a celebrity involvement role at the event. McAfee has now promised a massive surprise to be revealed on tonight’s edition of SmackDown.

  • Charlotte Flair on Wrestling in Her 40s: ‘I’m Gonna Quit When I Want To’

Charlotte Flair on Wrestling in Her 40s: ‘I’m Gonna Quit When I Want To’

Multi-time Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair is not considering the idea of hanging up her wrestling boots just yet. ‘The Queen’ addressed questions about her age and career longevity during a recent interview, making it clear she won’t let anyone put her in a box.

Flair appeared on Casuals with Katie Nolan, where she was asked if she’s started thinking about retirement now that she’s in her 40s.

    Flair Rejects Age Stigma

The question prompted a passionate response about double standards in wrestling and sports.

“It’s unfortunate that those sentences happen because I feel like in my industry, men don’t reach their prime until 40,” Flair said.

“Because I started late, I didn’t win my first title until I was 30. Where the girls now, which is awesome, a lot of people are in their younger 20s.”

    She continued:

“But saying that the men don’t hit their prime till 40, why am I not hitting my prime now? I realize that I think it would be easier for people to label me in that box, but I’m not going to let anyone put me in that box.”

    Career on Her Own Terms

Flair highlighted that she hopes women in any profession approaching 40 don’t view it as a slowdown or endgame. The former Women’s Champion pointed to examples like Lindsey Vonn as proof that capability and willingness to put in the work matter more than age.

“I’m not gonna say sorry anymore for winning, I’m not gonna age out of my career, I’m gonna quit when I want to quit. I’m gonna lace it up when I want to lace it up.”

Flair noted that if people didn’t know her age and saw her in the ring, they wouldn’t single her out as someone who’s been around for 10 years. She called out the societal stigma around women turning 40, contrasting it with how men are perceived to get better with age.

“It’s new territory. It was new territory when I debuted in 2015, and it’s new territory now. So, I hope I am part of the progress of changing that.”

Charlotte Flair will team up with Alexa Bliss and challenge for the Women’s Tag titles in a fatal four-way match at WrestleMania 42.

Drew McIntyre Takes Brutal Shot At Jacob Fatu Before SmackDown

Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre recently took a shot at his rival Jacob Fatu ahead of SmackDown.

‘The Scottish Warrior’ dropped a video message from San Jose that included a jab at his WrestleMania opponent. McIntyre addressed fans gathered outside in the rain before the show.

He quickly shifted his attention to Fatu and claimed ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ couldn’t appear in his own hometown due to community service obligations, referencing his past legal issues.

    McIntyre said:

“How are we all? Wow. What are you out here? Thank you for waiting in the rain. I know it’s pretty cold. I never thought California rain, so I’m a little bit disappointed. I appreciate you all coming out. San Jose is my town. You know, Jacob’s from here, but, you know, he’s got community service, so he can’t show up. You tell us for the people. So I will see you all.”

Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu To Clash At WrestleMania 42

The two powerhouse wrestlers are scheduled to face off at WrestleMania 42 in an unsanctioned match. The stipulation means no disqualifications or count-outs when they meet in the ring.

McIntyre’s latest comments add more fuel to a rivalry that continues to escalate as WrestleMania approaches. The verbal shots show no signs of slowing down before the two finally collide.

Alberto Del Rio Ordered To Stay in Custody After Recent Arrest

An update has emerged on former WWE star Alberto Del Rio’s arrest.

Reports suggest that State Civil Guard officers responded to an emergency call at a residence in the Lomas del Tec neighborhood. Following their arrival, authorities allegedly found Del Rio in the act of physically and verbally assaulting his partner, who showed visible injuries on her face and arms.

Del Rio was detained at the scene and transferred to the Fiscalía General del Estado de San Luis Potosí. The alleged victim is currently under medical and legal protection, according to multiple reports.

Alberto Del Rio Remains In Custody

The former WWE Champion remains in preventive detention after being formally charged with family violence by the State General Prosecutor’s Office in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. As per Milenio,  a control judge ordered Del Rio to be held as the investigation continues.

The charge of violencia familiar (domestic violence) carries a penalty of one to seven years in prison, along with a fine ranging from 20 to 700 UMA days. Based on the 2026 UMA rate of 117.31 pesos per day, that equates to approximately 2,346 to 82,117 pesos.

Del Rio’s defense team has requested additional time under the constitutional framework in order to determine his legal status.

WWE Legend Open to Facing Gunther: ‘Would Bring A Stiffness out of me

WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam recently expressed interest in facing Gunther, stating he believes a match with ‘The Ring General’ could lead to more opportunities with the company. ‘The Whole F’n Show’ addressed the possibility during RVDTV.

Van Dam said he would welcome the invitation and sees it as a chance to showcase his abilities. He believes a strong performance could convince WWE to bring him back for additional appearances.

“I think that would be a great opportunity if I had the invite, you know? Sounds like a pretty damn great payday, and of course, after the match, WWE would be like, ‘Damn! RVD looks so f***ing good. Got to come up with more plans for him now.’”

“And then they would want to throw all kinds of money my way. And yeah, I think that Gunther would bring a stiffness out of me, just with what I’ve seen with his chops and stuff like that. Maybe in a way that Bob Holly did.”

Gunther’s Recent Victories Over WWE Legends

The former World Heavyweight Champion has built a reputation for defeating and retiring veteran wrestlers in high-profile matches. In less than a year, he has beaten Goldberg and John Cena in their final matches and forced AJ Styles into retirement in January earlier this year.

The pattern has established Gunther as WWE’s go-to opponent for legends looking to end their careers. Van Dam’s comments suggest he’s aware of this dynamic and sees value in being part of that storyline.

Gunther’s next match is scheduled for WrestleMania 42, where he will face Seth Rollins. The match appears to be happening as a favor for Paul Heyman, according to recent storyline developments.

  • Reason Oba Femi vs Brock Lesnar Not Main Eventing WrestleMania 42 Night 1

Reason Oba Femi vs Brock Lesnar Not Main Eventing WrestleMania 42 Night 1

Reports have emerged on why Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi will not headline WrestleMania 42 Night 1, despite the magnitude of the matchup. Instead, the bout will open Night 2 on ESPN

WWE confirmed the official match cards for WrestleMania 42 Night 1 and Night 2 during an appearance by Joe Tessitore on ESPN’s Get Up show. The announcement revealed the placement of several high-profile matches across both nights.

Brock Lesnar vs Oba Femi Kicks Off Night 2

Bryan Alvarez addressed the decision on Wrestling Observer Live, explaining WWE’s strategy behind the placement. According to Alvarez, the company wants a marquee match airing on ESPN to maximize exposure.

“The reason that Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi is not headlining night one, which it should, if we’re being honest, is because it’s opening night two. It is going to be on ESPN, free for everybody. They just want a big fight on ESPN.”

The ladder match featuring Penta, Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee, Rusev, JD McDonagh and Rey Mysterio will also air on ESPN during Night 2.

The highly anticipated clash between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi has generated massive excitement. It all kicked off when Lesnar laid down an open challenge. Oba Femi stormed onto the scene to a massive reaction, instantly shifting the spotlight. ‘The Ruler’ then lifted Lesnar and planted him with a devastating “Fall from Grace.”

From that moment on, the road to WrestleMania has been intense. The initial setup was powerful, and every segment that followed only added more fuel to what’s shaping up to be a must-see battle.

  • Logan Paul Doubted WWE Signing After Bizarre First Meeting With Vince McMahon

Logan Paul Doubted WWE Signing After Bizarre First Meeting With Vince McMahon

Former WWE United States Champion Logan Paul recently revealed details about his first encounter with Vince McMahon before signing with WWE. He described an awkward pitch session where the former WWE Chairman remained silent throughout his entire presentation.

Speaking on the What’s Your Story? podcast with Stephanie McMahon, Paul explained that WWE’s initial interest stemmed from his massive social media following and ability to attract new audiences to the product.

“Part of the reason WWE originally hired me was because I had a social presence—followers online. You guys do this—you bring in outsiders, bring in an audience.”

    The Silent Pitch Meeting

‘The Maverick’ recalled walking into WWE HQ with a clear vision focused on creating viral moments. However, McMahon’s reaction during the pitch left him completely uncertain about whether his ideas were connecting.

“I went to the office to pitch your dad my ideas—what I could bring to WWE and how I thought I could add value. This was before WrestleMania. I was like, ‘These are my ideas—this is what I want to do. I’m big into making moments.’ I pitched him what I considered innovative, viral ideas. For me, it was all about virality. I talked for like 15 minutes in this meeting, and Vince didn’t say a word. He was just nodding, and I’m like, ‘Dude, am I resonating? Does he even know what I’m saying?’”

The silence made Paul question whether he was even speaking the same language as the WWE boss. After leaving the meeting, a WWE representative confirmed his concerns.

    Doubts After the Meeting

“I really wasn’t sure—I felt like I was speaking a foreign language. We talked, then I talked to my WWE rep. I walked out, and she was like, ‘I don’t think he understood a word you said’.”

That feedback left Paul doubting his chances of landing a WWE contract.

“I was like, ‘I know—damn.’ I was like, ‘I wonder if he’s even going to hire me,’ but apparently it downloaded some way.”

Despite the awkward first impression, Paul signed with WWE and became one of the company’s biggest crossover stars. His journey from that confusing initial pitch to becoming a featured performer demonstrates how WWE saw potential beyond the presentation itself.

  • AEW Commentator Believes Vince McMahon Will Contribute To WrestleMania 42 Creative

AEW Commentator Believes Vince McMahon Will Contribute To WrestleMania 42 Creative

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross feels that former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is likely to be involved in WrestleMania 42 creative, despite WWE operating under Triple H’s leadership.

Speaking on Grilling JR, Ross was questioned whether he believes McMahon will return to WWE creative. His answer left no room for doubt.

“Yeah, absolutely no doubt about it. I don’t even have a question in my mind where there’s, you know, it’s the old cliche, or there’s smoke, oftentimes there’s fire, and there’s been a lot of smoke regarding VKM in WWE, and what his future may or may not be, and how he can still contribute.”

    McMahon’s Creative Vision Still Valuable

Ross noted McMahon’s track record and mindset as reasons why the former WWE boss still has something to offer. He believes McMahon’s big-picture thinking makes him valuable for WWE’s biggest show of the year.

“This can still contribute. He’s a big picture guy, and that takes a lot of detail work and planning, but he can do that. He can make all that happen. And you know he’s hungry, so we know he’s in the kitchen. So I don’t think there’s any doubt in my mind that Vince will be instrumental in this year’s Wrestlemania as far as creative is concerned.”

When asked whether McMahon is already playing a role in WrestleMania 42 build-up, Ross doubled down.

“Oh, yeah. He’s not going to wait on anything. He’s not going to, as John Wayne would say, we’re burning daylight. Something’s going to happen. I believe that McMahon will have the will to contribute to this year’s WrestleMania… I just think that he’s going to be involved in WrestleMania in some shape, form or fashion.”

With Jim Ross expressing complete confidence in Vince McMahon’s continued influence, the conversation around WrestleMania 42 creative has only intensified.

While Triple H remains firmly in charge of WWE’s day-to-day direction, Ross’ comments suggest that McMahon’s presence, whether direct or behind the scenes, may still shape the company’s biggest show of the year.

CM Punk Reveals the One Thing That Brought Him Back To WWE

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk recently opened up about the real motivation behind his 2023 WWE return, revealing that main eventing WrestleMania was the one missing piece that brought him back after nearly a decade away.

‘The Second City Saint’ admitted that if he had already headlined the biggest show in wrestling before leaving, he likely would have stayed gone for good.

Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series 2023 in Chicago, shocking the wrestling world after years away from the company. Since then, he’s been featured in major storylines and finally got his WrestleMania main event moment last year. This year, he is involved in a rivalry with Roman Reigns and even dropped a pipebomb.

CM Punk Wanted WrestleMania Main Event

Speaking to WWE Now, Punk was asked whether main eventing WrestleMania would satisfy his younger self. His answer revealed just how much that unfinished business weighed on him.

“You know, satisfy, I don’t know if it’s the word, but it might be dangerous because, yeah, because if you think about this, if I main evented WrestleMania before I left, I don’t think I would have come back because I would have done it. What am I coming back for?”

The admission makes Punk’s WWE return feel less like a typical comeback and more like the completion of unfinished business. He didn’t return for money or nostalgia, but to check the one major box left on his wrestling resume.

This year, CM Punk is putting his World title on the line against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42.

Triple H On Cody Rhodes’ Infamous Throne Smash in AEW: ‘That’s The Kind of Sh*t You Do’

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H recently revealed his initial reaction to Cody Rhodes smashing his throne at AEW Double or Nothing 2019. ‘The Game’ discussed the iconic moment during a recent episode of What Do You Wanna Talk About? with Rhodes.

The throne smash became one of the defining images of AEW’s early days, with Rhodes using a sledgehammer to destroy a replica of Triple H’s signature throne prop. Both wrestlers confirmed there was no malice behind the gesture.

    Triple H’s Immediate Response

When people showed Triple H the footage at the time, his reaction was immediate and positive. “F**k yeah, good for him,” he recalled saying, viewing it as Rhodes making a bold statement to establish himself outside WWE.

“That’s the kind of sh*t you do. You’re trying to make a name for yourself, you’re trying to get out there, you’re trying to do some cool sh*t, trying to do some different stuff.”

He added that if he had sensed any serious malice in the act, he would have reached out directly to Rhodes, given his close relationship with Cody’s father, Dusty Rhodes.

“I always felt like a connection to you, and when you were here and it was difficult for me when you left.”

Encouraging Cody Rhodes to Take the Leap

‘The American Nightmare’ revealed that Triple H had actually encouraged him before his WWE departure, telling him to “go rattle the cages.” Triple H essentially made himself the target for Rhodes to challenge in wrestling’s public eye.

Rhodes also shared that one of the first congratulatory texts he received after winning the Ring of Honor World Championship came from Triple H, even as Rhodes was heading to the hospital in Lowell with a busted lip.

    The Long-Term Vision

Triple H explained that his perspective was always about Rhodes building himself into a more valuable talent.

    He said:

“You see somebody going off, doing their own thing and having success and I’m like, ‘F*ck yeah. Cody, come on!’ Like, get yourself in that spot where we’re like, hey… I don’t know what he did different but let’s go get him”

Rhodes admitted he was relieved there were no hard feelings.

“I’m glad the feeling is good on it versus — because I’m thinking, man, if he’s mad about it, it’s a long road to whatever the payoff is,” Rhodes said.

Triple H Raised Concerns Over Vince McMahon’s Creative Role Before WWE–Endeavor Merger

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H had expressed anxiety over Vince McMahon’s increased involvement in WWE creative just a day before the company’s merger with Endeavor became official.

Text messages between WWE’s Chief Content Officer and President Nick Khan, disclosed in Delaware Court of Chancery filings, reveal tension within WWE’s executive ranks in September 2023.

The exchange took place on Monday, September 11, 2023, according to a report from POST Wrestling. Triple H, who had taken over WWE’s creative team from McMahon the previous year, reached out to Khan for support as McMahon sought more involvement in the creative process.

Later that evening, Triple H informed Khan that McMahon wanted to meet about upcoming talent releases. These releases were part of a staff-cutting initiative tied to reducing costs as promised in the merger.

Fightful reported that McMahon and Levesque were involved with late changes to the Monday, September 11, 2023, episode of Raw. Vince was not at the event, as he had been on other occasions that year. Those other occasions included the Raw after WrestleMania in 2023, when he made wide-ranging changes to the show in-person.
