Shawn Michaels Shares Perspective on Emotional Growth in NXT

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels recently revealed his approach to dealing with NXT wrestlers behind the scenes.

During an appearance on 7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony, Michaels explained that he aims to create an environment where talent feels comfortable about sharing their thoughts without fear of being judged.

“Again, some of it is the experiences you have. I always try to tell them, you’re not going to have a thought in your head that I haven’t had at one time. So if you’re comfortable with it, you can be honest with me and open.”

HBK believes his generation didn’t have a safe space to express vulnerability. He’s actively trying to change that for the current generation of talents.

“One of the things our generation didn’t have was the old-timers saying that it’s okay to be scared, to cry and be emotional, intimidated—it’s okay to say, ‘I don’t know.’ To know that everything is okay—you’re not coming to be judged, certainly by me, because I don’t have that right and I have made every mistake”

    Guiding Talent Through Difficult Conversations

He described how he handles different emotions of the wrestlers and said those emotions aren’t a problem.

“So that’s something that I do use, as best I can, to help them and guide them. I understand the people that are passionate, or when they get angry or they’ve got a chip on their shoulder—they’re all things that I can relate to, and I can at least validate the way they’re feeling and then do my best to try and help guide them in the midst of those emotions.”

Michaels is currently working as Senior Vice President of Talent Development, Creative at NXT. He’s managing personalities and their emotions while trying to give today’s generation something he feels he’s never had.

  • Roman Reigns’ Part-Time Status Becomes Talking Point Ahead of WrestleMania 42 Title Match

Roman Reigns’ Part-Time Status Becomes Talking Point Ahead of WrestleMania 42 Title Match

WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash believes former Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns should lose his World Heavyweight title match at WrestleMania 42. Nash argued that CM Punk needs to retain his title because he can defend the title more frequently than ‘OTC’.

Roman Reigns will compete in his eleventh WrestleMania main event later this month when he faces Punk in what is expected to headline Night Two. The match marks Reigns’ first world title opportunity since losing the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 in April 2024.

Kevin Nash Explains Why CM Punk Should Win

On a recent edition of his “Kliq This” podcast, Nash pointed to Reigns’ well-documented part-time schedule as the primary factor.

“I have to have [CM] Punk go over because Roman [Reigns] has stated too many times that he’s a part-time wrestler, a full-time father and husband. They don’t run 300 days a year, they still, man, they, when they run, they run.”

    Nash continued:

“And it’s on planes, and it’s, you know, you’re in Berlin one night and Copenhagen the next and Italy the next, and you got to have, you got to have that strap out there.”

Reigns signed a deal with WWE in 2022 that allows him to work a reduced schedule. The agreement resulted in fewer appearances and significantly fewer matches compared to full-time roster members.

  • Pat McAfee Explains Randy Orton Alliance Ahead of WrestleMania 42

Pat McAfee Explains Randy Orton Alliance Ahead of WrestleMania 42

NFL legend Pat McAfee recently explained his alliance with Randy Orton on last week’s SmackDown. The former NFL punter turned commentator was unveiled as the mystery caller who had been motivating Orton in recent weeks.

McAfee questioned Rhodes’ leadership of WWE. He declared that everything in the company is terrible without Orton at the forefront.

Pat McAfee Details Phone Conversations With Randy Orton

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, he revealed the conversations began after Orton appeared on his program at the NFL Combine. He explained his motivation for reaching out to the 14-time world champion.

“My daughter is about to turn three years old. I would like her to be a wrestling fan, but I would like wrestling to be what wrestling is supposed to be, especially at the top of the card. 6’5″, 275 pounds of perfection from the wrestling Gods has been sitting here this whole time. Is it on TV all day, every day? Absolutely not. He was actually sent home for six months recently. What? How is this guy being sent home?”

McAfee expressed frustration that ‘The Viper’ hasn’t been featured more prominently. He positioned Orton’s potential 15th world championship win at WrestleMania as the key to saving WWE’s future.

    Everything Without Orton Is “Shite”

McAfee made his stance clear on what WWE programming should prioritize moving forward.

“Anything that doesn’t involve Randy, in my eyes, shite. If Randy Orton is involved, good. Just know, we got some things cooking. Future wrestling fans are going to look back on the night in Vegas and say, ‘That was the moment that that GOAT saved the entire business.’ Thank you, Randy.”

    Hulk Hogan Netflix documentary poster

Netflix recently released the trailer for ‘Hulk Hogan: Real American,’ a four-part docuseries set to premiere on April 22. The series will provided an in-depth look at the late WWE legend’s life and career.

The docuseries covers Hogan’s childhood, his rise in professional wrestling, and his transition into a pop culture icon. The series also features what turned out to be Hogan’s final recorded interview before his passing.

‘The Hulkster’ passed away on July 24, 2025, due to cardiac arrest at the age of 71. He rose to stardom in WWE during the 1980s, with the launch of Hulkamania becoming a defining moment in both wrestling history and his career.

Hogan’s Legacy and Hall of Fame Recognition

Hulk Hogan was among the first wrestlers to successfully crossover into Hollywood and achieve mainstream recognition beyond the wrestling industry.

Last month, WWE also announced that Hogan’s match against Andre The Giant at WrestleMania III will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Hogan was previously inducted into the Hall of Fame as a singles competitor in 2005 by Sylvester Stallone, and again in 2020 as part of the nWo alongside Scott Hall and Kevin Nash.

  • Backstage Details on Pat McAfee’s WrestleMania 42 Decision

Backstage Details on Pat McAfee’s WrestleMania 42 Decision

Pat McAfee was not an automatic “yes” when WWE came calling ahead of WrestleMania 42, according to Dave Meltzer.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer revealed that McAfee was WWE’s first choice for a celebrity involvement role at the event, but he initially turned the offer down, leaving the company scrambling for an alternative.

“Pat McAfee was the first choice and it was from Ari Emanuel, that’s where it came from. They wanted celebrity involvement,” Meltzer said.

“Originally, Pat McAfee was the choice and he turned it down, and then they were scrambling to get somebody else in the spot. And then obviously, they were able to make a deal with him, so he did it and he was there.”

    Ari Emanuel’s Push

The involvement of TKO Group CEO Ari Emanuel has been central to the McAfee story from the start. Per PWInsider, there is a widespread belief backstage that the decision to insert McAfee into the Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes feud came from TKO leadership rather than WWE creative.

Bodyslam.net separately reported that Emanuel, who also serves as McAfee’s personal agent, believes the ESPN personality will help elevate the match and drive mainstream attention ahead of the event.

McAfee appeared on the April 4 episode of SmackDown as the surprise ally of Randy Orton, revealed as the mystery caller Orton had been speaking to in recent weeks. The appearance came roughly a month after McAfee publicly suggested his time in wrestling had “kind of passed” him by.

    WrestleMania 42 Context

The booking is also tied to WWE’s new ESPN partnership. Per Fightful Select, McAfee’s role is partly designed to serve as “corporate synergy,” giving the Disney-owned network a recognizable face to promote the first-ever WrestleMania broadcast on ESPN platforms.

Cody Rhodes defends the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton on Night 2 of WrestleMania 42, set for April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

  • Rhea Ripley On Massive Expectations For WrestleMania 42 Match: ‘So Much Pressure’

Rhea Ripley On Massive Expectations For WrestleMania 42 Match: ‘So Much Pressure’

Rhea Ripley recently acknowledged the mounting pressure surrounding her upcoming Women’s title match against Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42.

Speaking on The Ebro, Laura & Rosenberg Show, ‘The Eradicator’ addressed the high expectations fans have for the highly anticipated bout. With fans discussing this matchup for months, she recognizes the spotlight will be intense before the bell even rings.

“I do. I do. I definitely do. I feel like this is a match that a lot of people have wanted for a long time, especially at WrestleMania. There’s already so much pressure going into that day and into that match.”

Living Up to Past WrestleMania Performances

The pressure extends beyond this year’s match. Ripley explained that her previous WrestleMania performances create an additional challenge, as she constantly feels the need to match or exceed what she accomplished before.

“And then also going off of last year, it was the same at WrestleMania 39 when I faced Charlotte. Then going into WrestleMania 40, I was like, I have to do just as well as I did the year before. Like I really have to.”

    Responsibility to Elevate Jade Cargill

Ripley said facing Cargill adds another dimension to the pressure. With Cargill still building her in-ring experience compared to other talents, the former World Champ feels a responsibility to help deliver the caliber of match fans expect.

“But now stepping in with someone that has only had limited experience within the wrestling industry compared to a lot of people on the show, I do have that pressure to kind of uplift her and bring her to a different level so we can go out there and we can make magic just like everyone expects from us.

WrestleMania 42 takes place on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

  • AJ Styles Feared Dangerous Stunt In Boneyard Match Against The Undertaker

AJ Styles Feared Dangerous Stunt In Boneyard Match Against The Undertaker

AJ Styles recently reflected on a genuinely dangerous moment during his cinematic Boneyard Match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36. ‘The Phenomenal’ revealed he couldn’t see where he would land during a key stunt, making the sequence far more perilous than fans realized.

Speaking on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, Styles recalled being positioned on top of a structure during the match, knowing he was about to be thrown off without being able to see his landing zone. The lack of visibility meant everything had to be perfectly positioned to avoid serious injury.

“I remember us being on top of the… I guess it was the barn or whatever… and I was thinking to myself, I can’t see where to land, just literally throwing me off the top of this building and I’m going through another little shed.”

Styles couldn’t visually confirm where he would land, forcing him to rely entirely on the crew’s placement. Even a small miscalculation could have resulted in catastrophic consequences.

“I remember going, I said, ‘Hey, uh, I can’t really, you know, how do you want me to take this bump?’ He goes, ‘Just do what you need to do.’ You know, I go, ‘I can’t see.’ So, you have to place me where you want me because if we’re off a little bit, my head hits the back of the freaking dirt… or, you know, my legs, somebody threw me.”

Height Made the Stunt More Terrifying

While the stunt was executed perfectly, the former WWE Champion admitted the moment felt genuinely scary as it happened.

“It was perfect, dude. It was perfect. But it was scary ’cause it was like on top of that building… I don’t know, maybe it felt like one and a half stories. Like it felt like a taller building than just a regular story.”

The Boneyard Match served as The Undertaker’s final match in WWE and became a defining moment of the WrestleMania 36 two-night event. The cinematic format allowed WWE to create dramatic visuals and storytelling.

Rhea Ripley Reveals Unexpected Benefit of Not Being Champion Before WrestleMania 42

Former Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley is set to compete in a title match at WrestleMania 42, marking her seventh consecutive year wrestling for a championship at WWE’s biggest event. Despite the pattern, ‘The Eradicator’ said she doesn’t need a title to validate her status in WWE.

Speaking on the Ebro, Laura, and Rosenberg Show podcast, Ripley discussed the practical advantages of not carrying championship gold. She noted that traveling without a title makes airport security easier, as TSA agents don’t need to inspect the belt in her luggage.

“I feel like it’s easier to go through TSA. They don’t want to open your bag just to see your title… I don’t know. I feel like kind of naked in a way without it.”

Rhea Ripley on Her Status Without Gold

The Australian superstar explained that her connection with fans transcends championship status. She highlighted that her presence alone generates a strong reaction from the audience.

“I don’t mind not having a title because I still feel like every time I walk through the curtain and walk onto the stage in front of everyone, I feel like a champion. I feel like I don’t need a title to represent how dominant I am in the WWE.”

Her upcoming WrestleMania 42 appearance will extend her streak of competing in title matches at the event, a run that began at WrestleMania 36 in 2020. She is set to challenge Jade Cargill for the Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42.

Liv Morgan Calls WrestleMania 42 Title Match ‘Everything’ After 11-Year WWE Journey

Liv Morgan recently said that headlining WrestleMania 42 in a Women’s World Championship match feels like the culmination of 11 years in WWE. The 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble winner challenges Stephanie Vaquer for the title at the company’s biggest event.

In an interview with Esteban Ramirez, Morgan discussed what this opportunity means after more than a decade with the company. She explained that stepping into a guaranteed singles title match on WrestleMania represents the moment she’s spent her entire career preparing for.

This time, she’s walking in with a championship match locked in, and she views it as the kind of shot she’s been chasing since day one.

“Yeah, I’m super proud. It’s my first year kind of headlining WrestleMania where I have a guaranteed spot and a singles match for the Women’s World Championship. It’s huge. And I feel like I’ve spent the last 11 years of my career preparing for this very moment, and I want to deliver and I know I’m going to deliver, and it means everything to me.”

Liv Morgan is determined to prove she belongs at the very top. Whether she walks out as champion or not, this moment marks a defining chapter in her career.

WrestleMania 42 takes place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19.

  • D-Von Dudley Raises Concerns Over Children’s Safety Amid School Shootings Crisis

D-Von Dudley Raises Concerns Over Children’s Safety Amid School Shootings Crisis

WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley recently said that he will not have more children due to the ongoing epidemic of school shootings in the United States. The multi-time Tag Team Champion expressed deep concern about bringing kids into the current environment.

Speaking on the “DukeLovesRasslin” podcast, D-Von explained his hesitation to expand his family. He cited the constant threat of gun violence in schools as the primary reason.

“The world is so bad right now. I don’t want to bring another kid into this world because I don’t want them to have to deal with this. I feel guilty as it is to have the kid that I have now, because they have to deal with this.”

    Fear for Current Children’s Safety

D-Von Dudley described the terror parents face when sending their children to school. He painted a vivid picture of the anxiety modern parents experience daily.

“It’s like, how terrified am I to have to know that one day I take my child to school, and I get a phone call saying, ‘Mr. Hughes, there’s been a shooting at the school.’ When did all of this start to happen?”

He expressed disbelief at the current security measures required at schools.

“It’s like now your kids aren’t safe to go to school. There are police officers with rifles and machine guns guarding elementary school students. It’s like, what? You’ve got to be kidding me.”

The United States experiences more school shootings per year than the rest of the world combined. The USA recorded 288 school shootings between 2009 and 2018. Mexico ranked second with only 8 incidents, while South Africa is at third place with 6.

  • El Grande Americano Rages Over WrestleMania 42 Exclusion: ‘Absolute Disgrace’

El Grande Americano Rages Over WrestleMania 42 Exclusion: ‘Absolute Disgrace’

El Grande Americano has called out the decision to be excluded from the WrestleMania 42 card. The luchador made his frustration clear in a video posted by WWE on April 5, reacting to the Intercontinental Championship ladder match that currently doesn’t include him.

The IC title ladder match features Penta, Dragon Lee, Je’Von Evans, Rusev, and JD McDonagh. El Grande Americano is unhappy, especially with multiple luchadores already set for the bout. He said:

“I want to tell you that all those luchadores are going to compete at WrestleMania, but the greatest one, the biggest legend, El Grande Americano is not!”

Americano Calls Out Ladder Match Competitors

Americano took things further by directly criticizing some of the announced participants. He made it clear he doesn’t think they belong in the same conversation as him.

“Penta is a fan of Chaparro, Dragon Lee is tiny, Je’Von has no culture! This match for the Intercontinental Championship is an absolute disgrace without El Grande Americano and my friends!” he declared.

He didn’t just vent his frustration. Americano hinted that something needs to change before WrestleMania.

“I think somebody should do something about that. Let’s think of something.”

Reports have already indicated that WWE is still adjusting the structure of the ladder match behind the scenes. That leaves the door open for potential late additions. Americano’s vocal complaints feel like they could be part of that direction, inserting himself into the conversation in a big way.

  • Pat McAfee Taunts Wrestling Fans After Randy Orton’s Attack On Cody Rhodes

Pat McAfee Taunts Wrestling Fans After Randy Orton’s Attack On Cody Rhodes

Pat McAfee continued stirring the pot after SmackDown, posting a video that mocked wrestling fans while praising Randy Orton following the brutal attack on Cody Rhodes.

In the video shared the morning after SmackDown, McAfee directly addressed fans and taunted Rhodes over the beating he took the night before.

“Good morning, wrestling fans. Have you thanked Randy Orton for what he’s going to do at Wrestlemania? You should. Okay. Saving the business, Cody Rhodes had a tough one last night.”

McAfee, who was revealed as Orton’s mystery caller, doubled down with a caption that took another shot at fans.

“Good morning beautiful people.. To the wrestling marks.. I hope you all have already thanked @RandyOrton for what he’s gonna do for wrestling at WrestleMania #THANKYOURANDY,” he wrote.

Pat McAfee’s Role in SmackDown Attack

This comes a day after McAfee was revealed as Randy Orton’s mystery caller and helped set up the ambush on Rhodes.

McAfee’s involvement has received negative reaction from the fans, but he is making it clear he’s not backing down from his role in the storyline. Instead, he’s leaning into the chaos and continuing to hype Orton while taking public shots at Rhodes heading into WrestleMania 42.

With tensions already boiling between Rhodes and Orton, McAfee’s continued taunts only add more fuel to the situation heading into WrestleMania.

  • Mark Henry Believes ‘Feathers Are Ruffled’ With Pat McAfee’s Involvement in Randy Orton-Cody Rhodes Feud

Mark Henry Believes ‘Feathers Are Ruffled’ With Pat McAfee’s Involvement in Randy Orton-Cody Rhodes Feud

Mark Henry has defended Pat McAfee’s controversial role in the feud between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes.

During Busted Open Radio, Henry argued that the NFL legend’s involvement makes sense given WWE’s direction heading into WrestleMania 42.

Henry acknowledged the surprise factor of the reveal, noting that fans didn’t expect Pat McAfee to be the mystery caller instructing ‘The Viper’. The veteran framed the negative reaction as part of a larger generational divide in wrestling fandom.

    Tougher Wrestling Product

According to Henry, longtime fans continue comparing today’s WWE to a different era. He explained that many hardcore viewers express frustration with the current product’s tone.

“A lot of the hardcore, old-school wrestling guys keep saying stuff like, ‘I used to watch back in the Attitude Era. I used to watch when guys looked like they would just beat you up just for looking at them. The days of big, burly, middle-aged men wrestling is over. That’s why our business is soft now’”

Henry connected McAfee’s mindset directly to those complaints, suggesting the former NFL star shares similar concerns about WWE’s current direction.

“That’s what Pat McAfee was saying. ‘I want to bring back that part of wrestling, the toughness, the aggressiveness. We’re a little too PG.’ That’s what Pat McAfee is saying. He wants to help change it.”

    Controversy Signals Storyline Success

Rather than viewing fan backlash as a problem, Henry suggested the negative reaction might actually prove the angle is working. He argued that meaningful change requires disruption.

“I want change. I love the fact that there’s somebody else that wants change, and sometimes, in order to have change, you’ve got to ruffle a few feathers. And so far, it looks like everybody’s feathers are ruffled.”

Henry closed by connecting the storyline to WrestleMania 42, suggesting Orton vs. Rhodes will adopt a more intense tone reminiscent of WWE’s Attitude Era.

Liv Morgan Opens Up on Childhood Idol Ahead of WrestleMania 42

Former Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan has recently credited WWE Hall of Famer Lita as her primary inspiration for becoming a professional wrestler. The current Women’s World Title challenger opened up about her childhood fandom in a recent interview.

Speaking with 8 News Now, Morgan explained how she connected with Lita’s persona as a young fan. She began watching wrestling at age five and immediately gravitated toward the former Women’s Champion.

    Growing Up With Four Brothers

Morgan described herself as a tomboy who roughhoused with her four older brothers. Lita’s style resonated with her because the WWE Hall of Famer wrestled men, wore baggy pants, and wore sneakers.

“I grew up watching wrestling since I was five years old, and I loved Lita. I grew up with four older brothers. So I was very much a tomboy. I would roughhouse with my brothers, wear baggy pants and sneakers, and Lita was a WWE superstar who would wrestle the boys, wear baggy pants, wear sneakers. So I saw her and I just very much related to her,” Morgan said.

Morgan is currently preparing for her match against Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania 42.

Cody Rhodes Receives Threat For Disco Inferno Jab On SmackDown

Former WCW star Disco Inferno recently responded to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes with a threat. This comes after ‘The American Nightmare’ namedropped Inferno during the April 3rd edition of SmackDown.

After being brutally assaulted by a returning Pat McAfee and Randy Orton, Rhodes returned to SmackDown later in the night. He delivered an intense promo mocking the revelation of McAfee as Orton’s mystery caller. He compared it to one of wrestling’s most famous moments.

“We all got dressed up to find out who it was that Randy was talking to on the phone. Then it was Pat McAfee. That is the same as the third member of the nWo not being Hulk Hogan, but Disco Inferno,” Rhodes said.

    Disco Inferno Responds With Threat

Disco Inferno responded on social media with a message directed at Rhodes.

“If I catch @CodyRhodes on Old canton Rd when I go back to visit my mom, that boy might get a good ol’ fashioned Marietta tushy kickin’,” Disco wrote.

Long-Running Feud Between Rhodes and Disco

The aggressive tone caught attention immediately, but the tension between the two didn’t start here. Cody Rhodes previously blasted Disco Inferno on social media in response to criticism about modern wrestling.

That past exchange shows the tension between the two isn’t new, which helps explain why Disco responded so strongly after being referenced on SmackDown.

WWE Superstars Oba Femi and Dominik Mysterio were recently harassed by autograph scalpers.

‘The Ruler’ was spotted outside his hotel just days before his scheduled match at WrestleMania 42. In a video clip, the group of scalpers could be seen standing nearby, staring at Femi, hoping to get his attention for autographs they could resell.

However, the former NXT Champion ignored them while waiting outside his hotel.

    Dominik Mysterio Confronted

AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio was also recently confronted by an angry fan as the former refused requests for photos and autographs. In a video clip, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion could be seen exiting a vehicle as multiple people approached him.

One person can be heard urging Mysterio to “have a heart” before adding, “don’t forget, we made you.”

    Pattern of Fan Harassment

The incident mirrors a recent situation involving Stephanie Vaquer. A fan attempted to shame her on social media after she declined photo requests on her birthday.

Vaquer later revealed the individual followed her, made her uncomfortable, and directed hurtful comments at her during what was already a difficult day.

Years ago, Rey Mysterio faced similar criticism when he refused to sign multiple items for a fan. The elder Mysterio suspected the items would be resold for profit rather than kept by an actual supporter.

WWE talent are not obligated to fulfill fan requests outside of scheduled appearances and meet-and-greet events.

  • Myles Borne Shares Story Behind His Relationship With Stephanie Vaquer

Myles Borne Shares Story Behind His Relationship With Stephanie Vaquer

NXT North American Champion Myles Borne recently opened up about how his relationship with WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer started, revealing a story that contrasts sharply with his confident on-screen persona.

Speaking to Denise Salcedo, the youngster admitted he spent weeks avoiding Vaquer backstage despite mutual interest from the start.

Myles Borne explained that while the connection was immediate, his nerves got the better of him every time they crossed paths. Rather than strike up a conversation, he would actively walk in the opposite direction to avoid the interaction.

“You know, honestly, when we first saw each other, we noticed. And then, for the first couple of weeks, we knew we liked each other, but I would try to build up the courage to talk to her,” Borne said. “And as soon as we crossed paths, I’d go the opposite direction. I promise, every time. And she noticed it.”

    Skipping Meals to Avoid Conversation

The avoidance reached a point where Borne would abandon basic plans just to sidestep an encounter. He recalled one instance where he turned away from catering entirely after spotting ‘La Primera’ heading in the same direction.

“I remember one time we were backstage, and I was coming in through one door to go to catering, and she was coming through another door, and as our paths intersected, I turned back around and walked out,” he explained. “I didn’t even eat. I said, ‘Nope, I’m not eating now. I’m just going to be hungry,’ because I was still trying to figure out what I wanted to say to her.”

    Vaquer Made the First Move

The dynamic shifted when Vaquer took the initiative and reached out directly. She messaged Borne, suggesting they hang out and have dinner, forcing him to finally confront the situation he had been avoiding.

“Eventually she gave me no choice. She messaged me and said, ‘Hey, let’s hang out. Let’s go have dinner.’ And, you know, we did,” Borne said. “That’s when I was like, okay, now I have no choice. I have to just build up the courage and talk to her. And it was great. It was like the connection from the first day. She’s just a genuinely amazing person, and I’m lucky, you know.”

Myles Borne also addressed the attention their relationship has received, joking about the reaction while making it clear he values success in all areas of his life.

“So, yeah, all the guys out there who are so mad. Hey, I get it. I get it. But like I said, I want to win in every aspect in life, and that’s one of the aspects,” he said.

The couple previously confirmed their relationship through social media exchanges after months of speculation. Borne’s candid account offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the relationship developed, showing a side of the performer fans rarely see on television.

“To whom it may concern, I don’t know who you are and I don’t care, but after 20-plus years in this business, I should know better. This one’s on me. I should have had eyes in the back of my head, but I didn’t. I got blindsided. I got attacked,” Nemeth said in the video.

John Cena WrestleMania 42 Host Role Came After ‘Significant Shift’ In Plans

WWE legend John Cena was reportedly not in plans for being the host of WrestleMania 42.

According to Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, the hosting role was not part of WWE’s original plans at the time of his farewell bout against Gunther.

Sources told Fightful that the opportunity came together earlier this year. The decision to bring Cena back as host developed after his retirement match had already taken place, marking a shift in WWE’s creative direction for the premium live event.

John Cena Stays Involved With WWE

The report further suggested that the 17-time World Champion has agreed to a new long-term contract with WWE that excludes in-ring wrestling.

WrestleMania 42 will mark another high-profile appearance for Cena in a non-wrestling capacity. The hosting role allows WWE to feature one of its biggest stars at the company’s flagship event while respecting his retirement from in-ring competition.

WrestleMania 42 is scheduled to take place on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Finn Balor Was ‘Super Emotional’ To Leave NJPW and Join WWE in 2014

Former WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor recently reflected on his decision to jump ship from NJPW to WWE in 2014. ‘The Prince’ revealed that he had envisioned spending his entire career in Japan.

The former NXT Champion opened up about the emotional departure during an appearance on Talk’n Shop Live. Balor, who served as the inaugural leader of Bullet Club, left NJPW at the height of the faction’s popularity. He admitted the timing made his exit bittersweet.

“I think what we had in Bullet Club when I was there was a real special time. Leaving when it was that hot was kind of bittersweet. I had known for a long time that I wanted to move on, but it’s always bittersweet. And I cried, obviously, leaving New Japan. That was super emotional,” Balor said.

The Irishman explained his mindset before making the jump to WWE. He viewed the move as taking a chance rather than a permanent career shift.

“I kind of always pictured my whole career in Japan up until that point. I just really wanted to roll the dice in WWE and give it one try. And if it’s gonna be a year, it’s gonna be a year, whatever, and then go back to Japan,” Balor revealed.

    Balor’s NJPW Accomplishments

During his time in NJPW, Balor established himself as one of the promotion’s top junior heavyweights. He captured the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship three times and the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship six times.

Balor also won the Best of the Super Juniors tournament in both 2010 and 2013. His success in Japan laid the foundation for his eventual transition to WWE NXT in 2014.

Since joining WWE, Balor has remained an active performer on the roster. His initial plan to potentially return to Japan after a year evolved into a long-term career with the promotion.

Finn Balor Reflects on AJ Styles’ Unexpected Retirement

Finn Balor recently opened up on AJ Styles’ retirement from professional wrestling. The former Universal Champion revealed he was caught off guard by the timing of Styles’ decision to step away from in-ring competition.

Speaking on Talk’n Shop Live, Balor recounted learning about Styles’ retirement plans. He said ‘The Phenomenal One’ had mentioned thinking about retiring in 2026, which Balor initially assumed meant later in the year, around Survivor Series.

The reality came much sooner than expected. Balor shared a conversation that took place while walking out of a RAW taping in Germany, just a couple of weeks before Styles’ actual retirement.

“AJ [Styles] had told me he was thinking about retiring in 2026. And in my brain, that was like, ‘Oh, okay. That’s Survivor Series.’ And then I think we’re walking out of a RAW taping in Germany two weeks before his actual retirement, and we’re walking out onto the bus,” Balor shared. “I said, ‘You’re working Gunther soon?’ He goes, ‘Yes. Think it might be the last one.’ I was like, ‘For real?’ He goes, ‘Yeah.’ Whoa. Holy cow. I was blown away.”

    Balor’s Well Wishes for Styles

Balor expressed happiness for his colleague’s ability to retire on his own terms. He praised Styles for stepping away without major injuries and being able to spend time with his family.

“I must say I’m super happy for him to be able to step away with his general health. No major injuries so to speak. I know he’s a little banged up, like we all are, but to step away on his terms and be with his family, that’s such a beautiful thing. I wish him the best, and I’m sure I’ll be seeing him pretty soon.”

While AJ Styles has hung up his wrestling boots, he is still working with WWE as a talent scout. Meanwhile, Finn Balor is set to face Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
