  • Dave Bautista To Star In \”Trap House\” Action Film

    Dave Bautista\’s latest action movie, \”Trap House,\” is slated to be the first theatrical release from the newly launched film distribution company Aura Entertainment. 

    According to a report from Deadline, the film is scheduled to hit theaters on November 14, 2025.Deadline describes the movie as being \”centered on a team of elite DEA agents whose rebellious teenage children use their parents’ own tactics—surveillance, infiltration, and non-lethal weapons—to rob a ruthless drug cartel.\”

     Bautista, the former WWE Champion turned Hollywood star, is expected to feature prominently in the action. Adding to his involvement, Bautista\’s own production company, Dogbone Entertainment, is listed among the producers for the film. 

    This project marks a significant debut for Aura Entertainment, which is entering the film distribution landscape with a star-powered action vehicle. Bautista starred in \”In the Lost Lands,\” a fantasy adventure released around March 2025.

    In the film, which merges post-apocalyptic, western, and fantasy themes, Bautista plays Boyce, a guide escorting a sorceress (Milla Jovovich) through a treacherous wilderness.

  • Released WWE Star Announces New Ring Name

    Recently released WWE NXT Superstar Jakara Jackson is embarking on a new chapter in her professional wrestling career, unveiling her new ring name as she prepares to enter the free-agent market. The performer will now be known as Mara Sadè.

    Jackson announced the change by updating her name on her X social media profile. This move comes shortly after she confirmed earlier this week that she has no intention of retiring from wrestling following her WWE release. She has also come up with a new banner for her Twitter.

    Jackson was one of 17 WWE talents confirmed to have departed the company in early May 2025, among 11 stars from the NXT brand. Her release occurred alongside that of her former Meta-Four stablemate, Oro Mensah.

    During her time in NXT, Jackson was a prominent member of the Meta-Four faction, showcasing her athletic abilities and charisma. Her adoption of the new ring name Mara Sadè signals a fresh start as she looks to make her mark on the independent wrestling scene and beyond. She is still waiting out her 30-day non-compete. 

  • WWE Holding Off On John Cena vs. CM Punk Match

    Despite CM Punk recently signaling his intent to challenge for John Cena’s Undisputed WWE Championship, their highly anticipated title match is reportedly not in the immediate plans for the upcoming Money in the Bank Premium Live Event on June 7th. According to PWInsider.com, WWE creative sources indicate a different direction for Cena at the Los Angeles show.

    While fans speculated a Cena vs. Punk blockbuster following Punk\’s \”for now…\” social media post after Cena\’s WrestleMania 41 win, PWInsider states this specific championship bout is not currently slated for Money in the Bank. However, the desire within WWE for the rivals to clash for the title remains strong.

    One source reportedly indicated the company aims to schedule the bout “later this year ‘when the timing is right’,” suggesting it\’s being preserved for a larger stage or more developed storyline. With Cena vs. Punk seemingly on hold for June, PWInsider also reported on alternative creative discussions for the 17-time champion at Money in the Bank.

    There is reportedly a belief that Travis Scott, who assisted Cena in his WrestleMania 41 victory over Cody Rhodes, will be available and could be involved in Cena\’s segment at the PLE.

  • MJF Accepted Into The Hurt Syndicate

    Tonight\’s AEW Dynamite: Beach Break from Chicago culminated in a major power shift as MJF was finally accepted into The Hurt Syndicate. After weeks of attempting to gain their approval, \”The Salt of the Earth\” is now aligned with MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin.

    Earlier in the night, after The Hurt Syndicate (Lashley & Benjamin) decisively won an AEW World Tag Team Title eliminator against Top Flight, MVP instructed MJF, who was interviewed backstage, to join them in the ring later. Following a chaotic multi-team promo segment, MVP summoned MJF. Initially hesitant, MJF was eventually escorted from the go-position, looking nervous.

    In the ring, MVP told MJF it was his \”day of reckoning\” and \”you asked for this.\” In a dramatic moment, all members of The Hurt Syndicate, including an initially reluctant Lashley, gave MJF the thumbs up, signaling his acceptance into the group.

    MJF celebrated with his new faction, leading the Chicago crowd in a resounding \”we hurt people!\” chant. MVP then announced that MJF will be officially inducted into The Hurt Syndicate on next week\’s AEW Dynamite, solidifying this formidable new alliance.

  • Former AEW Champion Signs New Contract

    Former AEW TBS Champion Willow Nightingale is officially \”sticking around\” with All Elite Wrestling, having re-signed with the company on a new multi-year contract. Fightful Select confirmed the new agreement this week.

    This development follows Fightful\’s recent report that Nightingale was in her contract year. At that time, it was also noted that AEW considered her a \”priority\” and was keen on keeping the popular star. According to Fightful, a new deal was finalized \”almost immediately after our story\” (their initial report on her contract status), with early indications suggesting she would remain with the promotion.

     Fightful Select shared insights from AEW sources regarding Nightingale\’s own stance. These sources indicated that Nightingale \”communicated she was very happy with the company and wanted to remain there.\”

    Nightingale has become one of All Elite Wrestling\’s most popular and beloved stars. Nightingale first appeared in AEW in May 2021, primarily competing on \”AEW Dark: Elevation\” and \”AEW Dark.\” She signed with the company the following year where she would win the TBS Title in 2024. She lost the title to Mercedes Mone at Double or Nothing.

  • WWE NXT\’s Jordynne Grace Misses Road Shows, Says PC \”Pop Fades\”

    Jordynne Grace recently shared her candid thoughts on performing for different audiences, expressing a preference for the energy of traveling shows over the familiar crowd at the WWE Performance Center (PC). Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Grace discussed the contrasting experiences.

    Grace highlighted a key difference between her current NXT role and her time in TNA: “Another thing with NXT is we’re at the Performance Center a lot, whereas in TNA, we were always traveling. That was a big difference.”

    When asked about her preference, she was clear: “I don’t prefer it [performing solely at the PC]. I would much rather be traveling, not just because of the audience, just because I love to travel. I love going to new gyms and trying new things.\”

    She elaborated on how crowd familiarity impacts reactions: \”The PC audience is very familiar. It’s not like seeing someone for the first time. You go to Sheboygan, Bangor, Duluth, Birmingham — it’s, ‘Wow, Jordynne’s here.’ When you go to other places, you get a different reaction because those fans don’t see you.” 

    Grace noted that while her entrance at the PC still gets a pop, \”the pop fades… When I first came here, it was an explosion. Now I come out… it’s more like, ‘Oh, she’s here again.’“ 

  • AEW Star Considered Retirement Due To Injury

    AEW star Skye Blue is set for her official in-ring return on tonight’s \”Dynamite: Beach Break,\” nearly a year after suffering a serious leg injury. She recently opened up about the difficult recovery and the moments she feared her career might be over.

    Blue sustained a fractured fibula during an AEW Collision match in July 2024 while trying to catch a diving Hikaru Shida, an injury requiring surgery with a steel plate and screws. Speaking to Q101 host Case Lowe, Blue admitted retirement crossed her mind.

    “That definitely crossed through my head a bunch of times, especially at night when I couldn’t sleep and it’d be like four in the morning.”

    She credited fellow wrestler Kyle Fletcher as a crucial support during her rehabilitation.

    “There were times that I would have to lay with my legs straight because if I moved it, it was just in pain,\” Skye Blue shared. \”But this one [Kyle Fletcher] was the best because he would say ‘No, tell the voices to shut up because you’re going to wrestle…’ Yeah, he was by far the biggest support I could have ever asked for.”

    Blue makes her comeback in a four-way eliminator match against AZM, Mina Shirakawa, and AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm.

  • John Cena Adds New WWE Appearance To 2025 Farewell Tour Schedule

    Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena has added anothe date to his ongoing 2025 farewell tour. Cena\’s packed 2025 schedule, since announcing last summer that this year would be his last, has included appearances at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and his historic title win at WrestleMania 41.

    Cena\’s upcoming confirmed dates also feature Money in the Bank in Los Angeles on June 7th, WWE Clash in Paris on August 31st, and WWE Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, on October 11th.WWE has confirmed that the 17-time World Champion will appear on the June 9, 2025, episode of Monday Night Raw, emanating from The PHX Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.

    He recently defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton at Backlash on May 10th and is reportedly slated to face R-Truth at the Saturday Night\’s Main Event in Tampa on May 24th.

    While WWE has yet to officially announce the specific date and event for Cena’s retirement match, reports stemming from comments by his father, John Cena Sr., suggest his final match is targeted for a WWE event in his home state of Massachusetts, specifically Boston, this December. Each confirmed appearance now brings fans closer to the end of an era.

  • Backstage News On Cody Rhodes’ WWE Status

    \”The American Nightmare\” Cody Rhodes has been absent from WWE television since losing his Undisputed WWE Championship to John Cena at WrestleMania 41 in April, is reportedly expected to be involved in the upcoming Money in the Bank Premium Live Event. While away from WWE, he has yet to comment on hia status.

    Fans have been eagerly awaiting his return and to address his WrestleMania outcome. During a recent Q&A, WrestleVotes provided an update on Rhodes\’ status for the June 7th event in Los Angeles, noting that Rhodes is still scheduled for the Money in the Bank show in LA.

    It\’s worth noting that while Rhodes has been locally advertised for SmackDown events as soon as May 16th, WWE has not officially confirmed these appearances on their programming.

    He was previously removed from other advertised SmackDown events during his current hiatus, making the Money in the Bank timeframe the most concrete indication yet for his return.

  • CW President Says WWE NXT Has Been An \’Absolute Game Changer\’ For The Network

    WWE NXT\’s move to The CW Network in October 2024 has proven to be a resounding success.

    Network president Brad Schwartz called the partnership an \”absolute game changer for the CW, and I think it’s been a game changer for WWE.\” Speaking to Variety, Schwartz lauded NXT\’s performance.

    He revealed the recently ended quarter was NXT\’s \”highest rated NXT quarter in five years. It’s up 19% year over year.” Schwartz highlighted NXT\’s dominance on Tuesday nights: “In adults 18 to 49 and 25 to 54, we’re regularly beating Fox on Tuesday nights.

    It’s unheard of,” describing its impact as \”absolutely crushing for us\” and a key reason for The CW\’s overall 40% season-over-season growth. He added that, excluding Fox\’s animation, NXT has broadcast television\’s highest concentration of these key demographics.

    This marks NXT\’s first run on a broadcast network after moving from USA Network. Schwartz confirmed The CW and WWE are \”constantly\” discussing new ways to expand their relationship, including additional WWE programming, building on current crossovers like Tony D’Angelo on \”Wild Cards\” and Trick Williams on \”All American.\”

  • TKO Executive Mark Shapiro Defends Reducing WWE House Shows Schedule

    TKO President and COO Mark Shapiro recently detailed key aspects of WWE\’s business strategy, including ticket pricing, live event scheduling, and media rights, during an appearance at the JP Morgan Global Technology, Media and Communications conference in Boston. Through dynamic pricing and yield management, Shapiro sees \”tremendous upside\” in WWE ticket revenue.

    He defended TKO’s decision to reduce the number of annual WWE live events from approximately 300 to around 200, stating it wasn\’t solely to improve profit margins, and that further \”pruning\” of the schedule might occur.

    Regarding WWE\’s Premium Live Event (PLE) broadcast rights, currently with NBC Universal/Peacock until March 2026, Shapiro confirmed ongoing renewal talks. He emphasized TKO isn\’t afraid of working with multiple media partners, calling it smart business despite admitting that as a viewer, “I can’t stand it.”

    Shapiro noted there\’s no rush to finalize a new media deal, stressing the importance of finding the right partners. He characterized WWE PLEs as “very high quality and low volume.” The value of the WWE content library was reportedly not discussed during his appearance.

  • Gail Kim To Officiate NWA Women\’s Title Match At Crockett Cup

    Gail Kim will step into the role of special guest referee for the NWA World Women\’s Championship match between reigning champion Kenzie Paige and WWE\’s Natalya. The NWA made the announcement via social media on Tuesday, May 13, ahead of their Crockett Cup event this Saturday, May 17th, at Philadelphia\’s 2300 Arena.

    NWA President William Patrick Corgan explained the decision in a statement, citing the heated rivalry between Paige and Natalya. “As the person who booked this very special match-up… and given the bad blood between the two stars… I’ve come to a very important conclusion: which is that the officiating of this match must be handled in a very particular way,\” Corgan stated.

    He noted the need for an impartial and respected official: \”I am concerned about… ensuring that we in the National Wrestling Alliance will have a clear and just result. Therefore, I’ve named Gail Kim as the special guest referee… for I know well Ms. Kim’s impeccable and unimpeachable integrity in the sport of professional wrestling.” Corgan added with, \”May the best lady win.\”

    WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page (DDP) believes current Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio is destined for a massive babyface run, potentially becoming the \”biggest babyface\” in WWE. Speaking with CasinoBeats, the WCW legend gave high praise for the young star\’s development and connection with the audience.

    DDP pointed out the positive reactions Dominik often receives despite his heel persona during recent appearances, including at WrestleMania 41.

    \”It was interesting because he\’s the biggest heel, and yet at that last WrestleMania, boy you swear to God he was the biggest babyface of the company,\” DDP stated.

    A massive World Heavyweight Championship match was announced on tonight’s May 12, 2025, episode of WWE Raw. \”The Ring General\” GUNTHER is now officially slated to challenge the winner of the upcoming title bout between current champion Jey Uso and Logan Paul. This championship encounter will take place on June 9th in Phoenix, Arizona.

    The announcement sets the stage for a clash, regardless of who goes over between Uso and Paul at the upcoming Saturday Night\’s Main Event. Current World Heavyweight Champion Uso, however, was quick to issue a fiery response to the prospect of facing GUNTHER again, whom he defeated for the title at WrestleMania 41.

  • Joey Janela Clarifies Sabu Kratom Comments After Fan Backlash

    Joey Janela has taken to social media to clarify comments he made in a recent Yahoo Uncrowned interview about the late Sabu, particularly concerning Sabu\’s kratom use before a GCW match and an in-ring incident. His original interview described Sabu taking kratom after arriving late, appearing on \”a different f—ing planet,\” and being \”knocked out cold\” during the match. These comments led to fan speculation following Sabu\’s recent passing.

    In a lengthy post on X, Janela stated the Yahoo interview occurred just two days after the GCW match, weeks before Sabu\’s death, and he wasn\’t aware of what would later transpire. He admitted to exaggerating the in-ring moment: “I said he was ‘knocked out’ after that spot when despite being a rough deal. He was not that. I was just trying to add to the lore and [unpredictability] of Sabu.”

    Janela further explained that Sabu took kratom \”daily for years,\” reportedly to help him get off other addictive substances, not just for that one event.

    A follow-up report from Fightful Select\’s Sean Ross Sapp noted that GCW officials were “frustrated, embarrassed and humiliated” by Janela\’s original interview. The Fightful report also added there was no evidence suggesting the match itself contributed to Sabu’s death.

  • The Miz To Host American Gladiators Reboot On Amazon Prime Video

    Mike “The Miz” Mizanin has been named the host of Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming reboot of the iconic competition series \”American Gladiators.\” The original show, which ran from 1989 to 1996, pitted amateur athletes against formidable \”gladiators.\”

    The revamped series will feature an \”all-star cast of gladiators for the modern era\” and will include classic challenges like \”Gauntlet,\” \”Hang Tough,\” and \”The Eliminator,\” alongside new trials.   • WWE Put Hosting Rights For John Cena\’s Last Match Up For Bid

    While Boston has been heavily rumored as the location for John Cena\’s final WWE match later this year, new reports indicate WWE initiated a formal bidding process for cities to host the momentous farewell. Cena is currently on his 2025 retirement tour and recently defended his Undisputed WWE Championship at Backlash.

    James Stewart of Boston\’s 98.5 The Sports Hub initially reported, with The Takedown on SI confirming after viewing WWE documents, that the company packaged \”John Cena\’s Final Match\” as a weekend-long special.

    WWE reportedly sought $1.5 million from potential host cities for a package that included SmackDown, an Undertaker live show, community events, and a special Saturday Night\’s Main Event on December 13, 2025, where Cena would wrestle his last match.

    WWE reportedly began approaching prospective bidders two days after the Royal Rumble in February, with a goal to secure the host city by the end of April. Although John Cena Sr. previously suggested Boston for his son\’s farewell, WWE has yet to confirm it. 

  • Cora Jade (Elayna Black) Books First Post-WWE Match

    Former WWE NXT Superstar Cora Jade, now competing under the ring name Elayna Black, has quickly lined up her first post-WWE in-ring appearance. Following her release from WWE earlier this month, Black is set to debut for Atomic Legacy Wrestling (ALW) this summer.

  • Jeff Cobb Breaks Silence On His WWE Debut

    Jeff Cobb has broken his silence after making an impactful WWE debut at the Backlash Premium Live Event on May 10, 2025. Following weeks of speculation after his New Japan Pro-Wrestling departure, the powerhouse officially arrived, immediately aligning himself with Solo Sikoa by attacking LA Knight during the United States Championship match.

    Prior to Backlash, Cobb playfully teased retirement on social media, despite reports of WWE contract talks. The former NEVER Openweight Champion ultimately surfaced in St. Louis, making his presence felt. Taking to X after his debut, Cobb referenced his earlier tease of retirement.

    “Thank you guys! I’m happy to say I beat retirement and I made it from muscle beach to STL in the nick of time, yeah!!!” This alluded to videos he shared from Muscle Beach before the event.

    Cobb\’s interference was a big factor in Jacob Fatu retaining the US Title. His arrival adds a new presence to the WWE roster, bringing his strength and experience from NJPW. 

  • Drew McIntyre Potentially Hurt At WWE Backlash

    Drew McIntyre is reportedly being checked out by WWE medical personnel following a dangerous spot during his match at the WWE Backlash Premium Live Event on Saturday night, according to PWInsider.com. The incident occurred during the WWE United States Championship Fatal Four-Way match.

    The contest, held at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri, saw champion Jacob Fatu defend against McIntyre, LA Knight, and Damian Priest. During a high-impact moment, McIntyre and Priest reportedly went off a barricade through two sets of tables.

    It was during this \”South of Heaven\” maneuver with Priest that McIntyre\’s head appeared to miss the table, instead hitting the floor hard. PWInsider.com reports they were told McIntyre is currently \”being evaluated\” by the WWE medical team.

    The chaotic match also featured interference from Solo Sikoa and the debuting Jeff Cobb, ultimately leading to Jacob Fatu retaining his United States Championship with a moonsault.

    The match order for tonight’s WWE Backlash Premium Live Event in St. Louis appears to have surfaced ahead of the show. According to a report from Cory Hays of Bodyslam.net and PWN, the lineup for the event has been revealed.

    As per the reported leak, the Intercontinental Championship match featuring Dominik Mysterio defending against Penta is slated to open the night’s action. The Undisputed WWE Championship clash between John Cena and Randy Orton, billed as “One Last Time,” is set to be the main event, closing the show.

    The report also noted Women’s Intercontinental Championship match, with Lyra Valkyria defending against Becky Lynch, will be in the semi-main event spot. 

    Other key matches reportedly include the United States Championship Fatal Four-Way (Jacob Fatu vs. LA Knight vs. Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre) placed second, followed by GUNTHER vs. Pat McAfee. As always with leaks, the official order may change.

James Gunn returns as the creator and showrunner for the second season, continuing the story of the titular antihero determined to achieve peace at any cost.

    John Cena leads the returning cast, which includes Steve Agee (John Economos), Jennifer Holland (Emilia Harcourt), Freddie Stroma (Vigilante), Danielle Brooks (Leota Adebayo), Robert Patrick (Auggie Smith), and Chukwudi Iwuji (Clemson Murn).

    Initially introduced in Gunn\’s 2021 film \”The Suicide Squad,\” Cena\’s Peacemaker character proved immensely popular, leading to the successful 2022 spin-off series. Season 1 was a hit for Max, breaking streaming records with its finale. Season 2 is expected to pick up from the explosive events of the previous season, continuing its signature blend of dark comedy, intense action, and compelling character-driven storytelling.

    Reigning WWE Women\’s World Champion IYO SKY is reportedly receiving exceptionally high praise from within the company, with at least one key decision-maker viewing her as a \”breakaway star\” in 2025. This insight comes from Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

    According to the report, a WWE source high up in decision-making praised SKY\’s all-around abilities. Meltzer shared the source\’s comments: \”Sky has been considered breakaway star this year, combining the fire and voice inflections that made Asuka a strong promo without speaking English and ‘her ridiculously great workrate, and everyone loves working with her, so no one has a problem making her shine, letting her shine, and designing a match for her to shine.’\”

    This internal acclaim follows SKY\’s standout performance at WrestleMania 41, where she retained her Women\’s World Championship in a critically acclaimed Triple Threat match against Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley, a bout even \”Stone Cold\” Steve Austin praised. Since joining WWE in 2018, SKY, already considered one of the world\’s best, has secured multiple Women\’s Championship reigns and Women\’s Tag Team titles.

    While not scheduled for this weekend\’s Backlash PLE, SKY will team with Rhea Ripley against Roxanne Perez & Giulia on Raw next Monday.

  • Some People In WWE Feel AEW Should Sign Dakota Kai After Release

    Despite her recent WWE release in early May 2025, Dakota Kai continues to be regarded positively by many within the company.
    Some people in WWE reportedly believe All Elite Wrestling should sign her. Dave Meltzer shared the international reaction to Kai\’s upcoming free agency in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

    “Those we talked to in WWE were positive on her and felt AEW should sign her.”

    Over the last two years, AEW has heavily invested in its women’s division by signing top free agents and developing talent that they have. The likes of Toni Storm, Mercedes Mone, Mariah May and others have helped elevate the roster.

    In WWE, she made history in NXT by becoming an inaugural and two-time NXT Women\’s Tag Team Champion alongside Raquel Gonzalez, with whom she also won the first-ever Women\’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in 2021. Transitioning to the main roster as a key member of Damage CTRL, she was in a tag team role and won the WWE Women\’s Tag Team Championship twice with IYO SKY.
