  • Steve Austin On WWE Without Vince McMahon: That Era Is Gone And New One Has Begun

Stone Cold Steve Austin shared his thoughts on Vince McMahon\’s no longer being affiliated with WWE. During a recent interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, he recounted a past conversation in which he questioned McMahon\’s desire to take the company public.

Asked if he ever thought he\’d see a time when McMahon wasn\’t associated with WWE while still alive, Austin acknowledged the shift.

“It seems weird, but I mean, only for a minute, because, you know, when they sold the company to TKO or whatever the deal is, you know, it was like, okay, it was kind of like the end of an era, and now that we\’ve taken a breath, okay, we digested that the era\’s over, and it is what it is,\” Austin said.

He then recalled advising McMahon against taking WWE public many years ago, puzzled by the chairman\’s reasoning.

\”So I remember talking to Vince 100 years ago when he wanted to take the company public. And I told him, I said, dude… I said, why do you want to go public? He goes, Steve, [to] be more legitimate. I was like, man, what the hell? be more legitimate? He owned the whole damn thing, you know, it was worth a shit ton of money, you know, how much do you want? So I never understood to begin with, you know.\”

Despite past disagreements, Austin spoke positively about his time working under McMahon and for WWE.

\”And I love working with Vince… and I\’ve had a tremendous time working with WWE, and we haven\’t always seen eye to eye on everything, but, you know, and I gave him all my blood, sweat and tears, and they gave me a bunch of opportunities to go out there… We had a great time together.\”

Austin ended by noting the change in leadership and the company\’s current positive trajectory.

\”But you know that era is gone and a new one has… begun, and it\’s taken off, and it\’s seemed like it\’s going good.\”

  • Steve Austin On John Cena’s Heel Run: ‘It\’s Warranted And Deserved’

Steve Austin revisited one of the most debated moments of his career, his WWE WrestleMania 17 heel turn, and offered his perspective on why he believes John Cena won\’t share similar regrets about his own recent turn to the dark side.

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Austin confirmed his long-held feelings about the 2001 decision.Austin wished he hadn\’t turned heel by aligning with Vince McMahon to defeat The Rock.

“Yeah, man, if I could go back in a time machine, I would have told Vince, ‘Hey, man, we used him. He helped me interfere, beat the hell out of Rock with that chair’,\” Austin recalled. \”It was very physical… I\’d have called that audible, and I told Vince, after it\’s all said and done, ‘watch a stunner.’ I\’d have dropped him on that stack of dimes he called a neck. And I would have stayed a baby face.”

However, Austin offered a different prediction when host Helwani asked if Cena might eventually regret his WrestleMania 41 heel turn.

\”Regarding John Cena. Man. I love what Cena is doing. I love the way a guy talks his promos, where he\’s going with it,\” Austin stated. \”I know some people think differently, but I like the ride that he\’s taken me on because I\’m invested in John Cena. I\’ve watched him for a long time. He\’s a class act.\”

Austin believes Cena\’s motivations differ from his own back in 2001. He attributes Cena\’s current run to a passion for the business at this stage of his successful career.

\”I think he\’s going to look back and love what he\’s doing, because he loves the business, and I think he truly enjoys it,\” Austin continued. \”He loves it so much that at this stage of his life… he\’s only doing this because he loves it that much, and he wants to take the people on another ride and a ride that they haven\’t been on yet, and it\’s warranted and deserved.”

  • WWE President Nick Khan Shares Insights on Hiring, Culture Building and Failure

In a notable session focused on building successful enterprises at this week\’s CAA World Congress of Sports (hosted by Sports Business Journal) in Nashville, WWE President Nick Khan provided valuable insights into his philosophy on organizational culture that has helped shape one of entertainment\’s most recognizable brands.

Khan, who has been instrumental in WWE\’s continued evolution, emphasized three key principles that guide his approach to leadership and company culture (all quotes in this article via SJB):

\”No. 1, in our hiring practice, never hire people who do out-of-office replies,\” Khan stated frankly during the session. \”Not a fan. Message a person back, \’Hey, I\’m out of the office for the rest of the week. Do we need to talk now?\’\”

This seemingly small detail reveals Khan\’s emphasis on responsiveness and availability in a fast-paced industry where opportunities and challenges can emerge at any moment.

Perhaps more significantly, Khan highlighted the critical importance of honest feedback within an organization, particularly as executives climb the corporate ladder.

\”When you do have a vision for something and you\’re going after it, if it\’s not going well, you have to have people who work with you who can tell you that,\” Khan explained.

\”Sometimes as you grow in an organization and you get more towards the top, there\’s a lot of people who say, \’It\’s great!\’ \’It\’s great!\’ But if it\’s not great, you got to make sure that you have the key people in place who will tell you, \’I don\’t think this is going well.\’ And at that moment you got to pivot out of it.\”

This philosophy underscores Khan\’s belief in creating an environment where candid communication takes precedence over performance flattery – a challenge many organizations face as leadership becomes more isolated.

    How WWE Approaches Failure

Khan also addressed how WWE approaches failure, offering a refreshingly pragmatic perspective that acknowledges the inevitability of missteps in any business venture.

\”We fail every day, multiple times every day, throughout the day. Don\’t mistake that,\” Khan acknowledged. \”The clock strikes midnight and resets for a reason. No matter how good the day was, how bad the day was, it\’s over. So, the key employees are the ones who wake up the next morning with a fresh look on their face and have a fresh start.\”

This resilient mindset has likely contributed to WWE\’s ability to adapt and evolve in a constantly changing entertainment landscape, allowing the organization to learn from setbacks rather than being defined by them.

Khan\’s perspectives were shared alongside other industry leaders during the event, including Fenway Sports Group partner and CEO Sam Kennedy, who offered complementary insights on organizational culture, emphasizing the importance of surrounding yourself with \”energy givers\” rather than \”energy takers.\”

As WWE continues its global expansion and integration with UFC under TKO Group Holdings, Khan\’s cultural philosophy offers valuable lessons for executives across the sports and entertainment landscape who aim to build resilient, honest, and forward-looking organizations.

  • Sami Zayn Sends Warning: ‘I Am Not Going Anywhere, I Will Become A World Champion’

Following a brutal end to his night on WWE Monday Night Raw, Sami Zayn has taken to social media to issue a statement regarding his future and championship goals.

On this week’s episode, Seth Rollins, alongside Paul Heyman, attempted to persuade Zayn to leave Raw for the SmackDown roster, an offer Zayn ultimately rejected by telling Rollins to \”go to hell.\” This refusal led to a main event clash with Rollins\’ new associate, Bron Breakker.

The match ended abruptly when Breakker took out Zayn with a relentless series of spears, prompting a referee stoppage. Rollins then added insult to injury, delivering a Stomp to the downed Zayn as Raw went off the air.

Despite the assault and the clear threat from Rollins\’ new faction, Zayn posted a clear message on Twitter outlining his intentions.

“Yes, there is a target on my back,\” Zayn wrote. \”Just know this – you can throw everything you’ve got at me, I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE. I will become a world champion.”

It’s unclear whether Zayn will stay off television for a few weeks or if he will be back as soon as next week.

  • ‘From A Character Perspective, I Was Okay With It:’ Drew McIntyre On Losing CM Punk Feud

Speaking recently on the \”High Performance\” podcast, WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre offered insight into his character\’s mindset regarding his recent feud with CM Punk and the current state of WWE storylines.

McIntyre addressed losing the feud to Punk, stating, \”From a character perspective, I was okay with it. For anyone’s been following our show, you know, with Drew McIntyre, the journey that I’ve been on, I was the number one good guy, world champion, all that jazz and was wronged in a lot of ways by certain people who were bad guys at the time,\” McIntyre explained.

\”Then these bad guys became good guys all of a sudden for no particular reason other than they took a vacation,\” he said, specifically mentioning Reigns returning after a hiatus and Jey Uso gaining popularity thanks to his Yeet chants.

\”From my character perspective, those guys made my life a living hell,\” McIntyre continued. \”They screwed me up with the world title multiple times, beat me down with chairs violently. Those chairs are real. Multiple times, and suddenly, they were getting cheered. So I had certain issues. Usually, historically in wrestling, if you’re good, you just get on with the good guys you’re bad you’re going with the bad guys.

McIntyre also commented on the shift in WWE\’s creative direction under Triple H.

\”You know, since Triple H took charge of the creative process it’s very much based in reality now. These days, it’s not just the good guys and the bad guys fighting each other like it used to be.”

  • Liv Morgan Is Taking Time Off From WWE

Liv Morgan will be off WWE television for the foreseeable future.

At WrestleMania 41, the Women\’s Tag Team Championship changed hands when Lyra Valkyria and the returning Becky Lynch defeated the defending champions, Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, on the second night of the event. However, their reign was short-lived.

On the following Raw, in a rematch, Morgan and Rodriguez regained the titles. The decisive moment saw Morgan pin Valkyria after delivering her finisher. Following the title change, Lynch shockingly turned heel, attacking her partner.

PWInsider.com had reported on Monday that something big was happening with Morgan that would be revealed next week. On this week’s episode of Raw, Morgan requested time off from acting Raw General Manager Nick Aldis in a backstage segment.

The reason for that is due to her filming a big movie. It’s unclear how long she will be off TV.

  • Becky Lynch Revealed As Bayley’s Attacker, Sets Up Title Match

Becky Lynch has confessed to her actions, which sent the wrestling world into outrage and shock over WWE WrestleMania week. First, a mystery attack angle left Bayley lying and out of her scheduled women’s Tag Team Title match alongside Lyra Valkyria.

Lynch stepped up and replaced Bayley, teaming with Lyra to dethrone Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez and win the titles. The following night on Raw, Lyra was pinned by Morgan, and the newly formed tag team lost their titles.

Lynch turned heel after the match and attacked the Women’s Intercontinental Champion. On this week’s episode of Raw, Lynch kicked off her promo by revealing that she was the person who attacked Bayley.

Lynch attributed her actions to Bayley\’s repeated attacks over the past few years and criticized her aspirations to become a bigger star. Lynch turned her attention to Valkyria, invoking the adage that the friend of her enemy is also her enemy. Lynch mentioned her attempts to persuade Valkyria to sever ties with Bayley.

Lyra showed up and revealed that numerous women in the locker room had cautioned her about Lynch\’s true nature. Continuing her response, Valkyria declared that Lynch\’s revered image was now shattered.

The segment ended with Valkyria issuing a direct challenge to Lynch for a match at Backlash, even raising the stakes by offering to put her newly won Women\’s Intercontinental Championship on the line.

  • More Ring Boys Join Lawsuit Against WWE And The McMahons

There was a new filing in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland regarding the claims of negligence against WWE, Vince McMahon, and Linda McMahon regarding alleged sexual abuse by former WWE ring boys.

A recent legal filing has expanded the scope of the ongoing lawsuit, introducing detailed allegations from three new plaintiffs, identified as John Does 6, 7, and 8. According to POST Wrestling\’s review of the updated complaint, these additions bring forth new accusations of child sexual abuse against former WWE ring announcer Mel Phillips, as well as a new allegation of child sexual abuse against the late former WWE wrestler and executive Pat Patterson, and further unspecified claims.

The new allegations (courtesy of POST Wrestling) include the following:

“John Doe 6, a Mississippi resident, alleges that he met Phillips around 1988, when he was 11 or 12 years old. After a WWF house show on July 14, 1989, he was told he needed to stay in Patterson’s hotel room while other underage ring boys stayed in Phillips’ room. In Patterson’s room, Doe 6 alleges he was given alcohol, Patterson played pornography on the television, and forced Doe 6 to give Patterson oral sex and vice versa.

In a separate alleged incident, in a WWF dressing room in Maine, Doe 6 claims he was grabbed in the crotch by wrestler Koko B. Ware with many other witnesses present, including Phillips, Patterson, ring crew member and later ring announcer Tony Chimel, and referee Danny Davis.

“In front of everyone else in the room, Koko B. Ware told John Doe 6 to get against wall [sic], pushed John Doe 6’s head against wall [sic], patted him down, and then grabbed John Doe 6’s crotch.”

The updated lawsuit states that most others in the room laughed, except Chimel, who “said something like, ‘don’t do that, let him go.\’” Chimel later told Doe 6 that he shouldn’t be on the ring crew and that he should run away, according to the complaint.

The lawsuit identifies several potential witnesses, including former Community Relations Director Sue Aitchison, who worked for the company for decades until her departure last year. According to the complaint, John Doe 6 alleges that during another WWF event, he was wrestling in the ring when Shane McMahon, then also a teenager, accidentally suffered an arm injury. Aitchison, eventual WWE referee Mike Chioda, and Chimel allegedly witnessed the incident.

John Doe 6 alleges he traveled with Phillips to approximately 10 WWE events between 1988 and 1992, including WrestleMania V in Atlantic City on April 2, 1989. The amended complaint includes photographs that purportedly show Doe 6 in the audience during the event’s main event between Hulk Hogan and “Macho Man” Randy Savage. The faces of Doe 6 and other plaintiffs are redacted in the images to protect their identities.

Doe 6 also alleges Phillips sexually abused him after a July 21, 1992, WWF event in Portland, Maine.

Another new plaintiff, identified as John Doe 7, states he was around 14 or 15 years old when he met Mel Phillips in Philadelphia in 1974, the earliest of the meetings with Phillips alleged by the plaintiffs in this lawsuit.

Doe 7 alleges Phillips sexually abused him in the course of working as a ring boy at WWF events, including at hotel rooms in Baltimore, Maryland, where Phillips gave him alcohol. The lawsuit states in detail how Doe 7 was allegedly sexually abused by Phillips, which includes allegations of forced oral sex.

Each of the five initial plaintiffs alleged they were sexually abused by Phillips when they were minors.

The lawsuit acknowledges that Vince McMahon was a commentator at the time Doe 7 was allegedly abused. Vincent J. McMahon was still in charge of the wrestling company at the time. Nonetheless, it’s alleged that the younger McMahon still had leadership responsibilities.

The younger Vince McMahon “acted and was treated by others as the de facto WWE boss, especially when on-site for WWE shows,” the plaintiffs’ attorney stated.

Doe 7 also claims he was abused by Phillips away from WWF events, at the Philadelphia Police Athletic League, and a church in West Philadelphia. Phillips sometimes recorded the abuse with a video camera, according to the filing.

The third new plaintiff, John Doe 8, claims he met Phillips when he was around 15 years old in 1982 in Baltimore while working concessions at the Baltimore Civic Center.

Doe 8, who is now a citizen of Nevada, claims Phillips asked him to come to a WWF show on or around March 13, 1982. At that event, Doe 8 and another ring boy were allegedly given marijuana.

Before another WWF event in Baltimore on April 10, 1982, Doe 8 alleges Phillips sexually abused him and another underage ring boy at a hotel. In Phillips’ room, Doe 8 alleges the ring announcer told the boys to get undressed. While wearing only underwear, Phillips allegedly put the boys’ “feet on his penis to compare sizes. Phillips was aroused.” The boys were also allegedly offered cocaine and pills by Phillips.”

According to Thurston\’s analysis, the complaint attempts to establish a duty of care owed by WWE and its executives to the \”ring boys\” by highlighting that they received compensation, even if informal. The lawsuit argues that this compensation, combined with allegations of supervision and travel arrangements facilitated by the company, demonstrates that these underage individuals were not merely volunteers or independent bystanders. Instead, they were individuals for whom the WWF held a responsibility.

WWE has previously contested the legal concept of “successor liability,” arguing that the plaintiffs have not adequately demonstrated why the current company or TKO should be held legally responsible for the alleged actions of WWF personnel that occurred in the 1980s.

Furthermore, WWE addressed the plaintiffs\’ claim that Phillips hired them, stating that this alleged hiring by Phillips does not establish a direct link or liability for the company regarding the former ring boys. WWE pointed out that the complaint itself alleges that \”Phillips hired Plaintiffs and that Phillips paid Plaintiffs money for the work he requested.\”

  • London Mayor Remains Determined To Bring WWE WrestleMania To UK

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has not given up on bringing a future WWE WrestleMania to his city after years of wanting to do so.

Khan mentioned this idea during his 2024 re-election campaign, yet no deal has been struck yet between WWE and the city. He met with Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Nick Khan last summer about the possibility.

The mayor’s office published a report today touting that six events brought £230 million in direct economic impact to the city last year. Now, looking ahead, Khan stated that he remains committed in bringing in Mania.

Triple H recently said that ringing WrestleMania overseas would be difficult logistically. However, that doesn’t mean he’s against it; he stated that he thinks WWE is up to the challenge.

While London sets its sights on future WrestleMania events, the immediate hosting duties lie elsewhere. Las Vegas recently staged WrestleMania 41, and New Orleans is already slated to host WrestleMania 42 in 2026. Additionally, it has been publicly announced that Indianapolis is also in line to host WrestleMania in the future, as part of an agreement between WWE and the Indiana Sports Corp.

  • Aleister Black Returns On WWE SmackDown

A notable return happened on Friday’s WWE SmackDown, as Aleister Black, aka Malaki Black, is back.

On the show, Black came out to interrupt a segment with The Miz, who had been talking. Miz went to get into Black’s face, but Black laid him out with a Black Mass and then sat down in the ring to end the segment. Black came back to his old entrance theme song.

Black first gained prominence in WWE\’s NXT from 2017 to 2021. During his time in NXT, he achieved significant success, capturing the NXT Championship and winning the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic alongside Ricochet.

Following his stint in NXT, Black transitioned to WWE\’s main roster. However, his time there was cut short, and he was released in 2021. From 2021 to early 2025, he wrestled for AEW under the moniker Malakai Black. Several weeks ago, his tenure with AEW came to an end when he was granted his release from the company.

  • Zelina Vega Wins WWE Women’s United States Title

A notable title change happened on Friday’s WWE SmackDown, where Zelina Vega walked out as the United States Champion.

On the show, Vega went over Chelsea Green to win the title. This marks the first singles title win of Vega’s WWE career.

Vega defeated Green in two consecutive non-title matches on SmackDown in the weeks leading up to their championship bout. These victories established Vega as a credible challenger for Green\’s newly won title.

One of Vega\’s non-title victories over Green occurred under controversial circumstances, with Green getting counted out Green did not have a match at WrestleMania 41, despite being the Women\’s United States Champion, although Fightful reports that several pitches were made for her, whether that be to wrestle or to have a segment.

Green won the inaugural WWE Women\’s United States Championship on December 14, 2024. She defeated Michin in the tournament final at Saturday Night\’s Main Event XXXVII.

  • Absent WWE Star Returns On SmackDown

Nia Jax has returned to WWE TV, immediately setting her sights back on Tiffany Stratton and the WWE Women\’s Championship. On the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Jax blindsided the reigning champion, Tiffany Stratton, and delivered an AnNiahilator.

Before the attack, WWE Women\’s Champion Tiffany Stratton squared off against Jade Cargill, the former AEW TBS Champion riding high after securing her first singles victory over Naomi at WrestleMania 41.

Naomi stormed the ring and launched an assault on Cargill, declaring the match a no-contest. Naomi\’s attack culminated in her driving Cargill into the steel ring post before engaging in a tense staredown with the reigning WWE Women\’s Champion.. This distraction created the perfect opportunity for the returning Jax to strike, blindsiding Stratton from behind.

This marked Jax\’s first appearance in a WWE televised match since Elimination Chamber, where she teamed with Candice LeRae in a losing effort against Stratton and Trish Stratus.

  • Young Bucks: Nothing But Love To Fans Who Didn\’t Fall for Phony Character Assassination Clickbait Articles

The Young Bucks appreciate the fans and have taken the time to show how much it means to them.

The Young Bucks had been on hiatus until Dynasty, when they returned and helped Jon Moxley retain the AEW World Heavyweight Title over Swerve Strickland. They took to Instagram to share a message of thanks to the fans.

“Nothing but love to the real ones who’ve never stopped supporting us,” he wrote via Instagram. “To the ones who didn’t fall for the phony character assassination clickbait articles.”

Jackson continued, “The rumors, the lies. You had our backs the whole time [and] it didn’t go unnoticed. We still do this for you. I would have probably called it a night a long time ago without your support. Let’s keep going. Let’s come back bigger, better [and] sharper. What is ‘the feeling’ everyone talks about? It’s you. You’re the recipe. Onward [and] upward.”

The former AEW Tag Team Champions beat Kevin Knight & Mike Bailey in a tag team match this past week on Dynamite.

  • Bianca Belair Confirms She Suffered Minor Injury At WWE WrestleMania

Bianca Belair has confirmed reports of an injury she suffered in her latest WWE match. However, the good news is that the injury appears to not be one that will keep her sidelined for long.

Earlier this week, Fightful\’s Sean Ross Sapp first reported, \”there was concern that Bianca Belair suffered an injury to a couple of her fingers at WrestleMania.\” In the opener of WrestleMania Sunday, she competed against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley in a triple threat match for the WWE Women\’s World Championship.

WWE’s YouTube channel posted a behind-the-scenes vlog from WrestleMania 41, where the fan-favorite star confirmed the broken finger injury.

\”I think I broke a finger. My finger is hurt, my feelings hurt. Nah, I\’m so happy right now. That was amazing. Win or lose, it\’s WrestleMania,” Belair stated. “The Mania streak is broken. I would prefer it to be IYO out of anybody. One of the greatest wrestlers on the planet. I can\’t be mad at that. Congratulations to IYO. Rhea, I\’m still coming for that ass, okay? This ain\’t over because it\’s your fault.”

It’s unclear whether WWE will give her time off to heal up from the injury or if she will work through it.

  • Kenny Omega Teases Potential AEW Mixed Tag Team Tournament

During a recent live stream on his Twitch channel, AEW star Kenny Omega ignited fan speculation by discussing the potential for a mixed tag team tournament in AEW. Omega revealed that the idea has been circulating backstage.

\”I keep hearing every now and then, it\’s tossed around, every now and then, in AEW, the ramblings of having a mixed tag matches tournament. I keep hearing the possibility of maybe doing this tournament.\”

Omega expressed more interest in the dynamics of mixed tag teams than in traditional singles matches when considering the possibilities of them.

\”I\’d put more thought into what a tag team would look like rather than what a singles would look like,\” he stated.

Omega then named several prominent wrestlers from the Japanese women\’s wrestling promotion Stardom as potential dream partners or opponents in the tournament. He highlighted two of his current favorites:

\”Someone had said Mayu Iwatani, that would be cool to have her and someone team up. Starlight Kid and someone team up. Those are two of my favorites from Stardom, for sure, right now.\”

Omega is a big fan of Joshi (Japanese women\’s wrestling). He also mentioned another highly respected name in the Japanese wrestling scene, Chihiro Hashimoto, as someone that could be used.

  • Tama Tonga May Need Surgery After Suffering Injury

WWE\’s injury woes continue as reports indicate Tama Tonga will be sidelined for a while. Bodyslam.net and PWN\’s Cody Whoades have confirmed that Tonga is dealing with an injury that may need surgery.

The specific nature and timeline for his return remain undisclosed. The storyline attack by LA Knight on last Friday\’s SmackDown is believed to be the explanation for Tonga\’s absence as he addresses this undisclosed injury.

This news follows a previous injury to Tonga\’s stablemate and brother, Tonga Loa, who suffered a torn bicep during the Men\’s WarGames match at Survivor Series in November 2024. That injury occurred when CM Punk hit Loa\’s arm with a toolbox.

Loa underwent surgery and was initially expected to be out for several months. While his status as of December 2024 was uncertain, reports suggested he was recovering well and could potentially return to the ring in the summer of 2025.

We wish both stars a speedy recovery.

  • Seth Rollins Voices Concern About WWE’s Future

Seth Rollins, a veteran of the WWE locker room who came up during an era of a significantly more demanding live event schedule, is worried about how the reduction in WWE house shows will affect the development of future generations of Superstars.

Rollins, a member of the last generation to regularly work multiple weekly live events, believes this shift could hinder the ability of up-and-coming talent to hone their craft.

During his appearance on Outta Pocket with RGIII, Rollins addressed the growing trend of WWE recruiting college athletes through NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) deals and how they don’t have enough experience in the ring.

“My biggest concern, and I’ll try not to expound on this too much, but my biggest concern is the generation that is being groomed now, we are dipping our toe heavily into the NIL world,” Rollins said. “Taking a lot of college athletes who, maybe after college, there is no future for them as far as money in sports, so we offer them deals to get paid while they are in college to come and maybe be part of WWE when they are older.

There is nothing wrong with training these people from scratch, I have no problem with that, but couple that with our live event schedule. We used to do them every weekend, sometimes two shows every day on Saturdays and Sundays, there would be two running simultaneously in different towns. That’s where I learned my craft and the art of wrestling and storytelling.

“If you don’t get the repetitions to learn that, I don’t care what kind of athlete you are or how impressive your vertical leap is or how many times you can bench press 400 pounds, it’s not going to translate because you don’t know how to tell stories,” Rollins added. “You might be a hell of a performer, but ‘I need a promo. Go out there, five minutes, get it done.’”

Rollins noted the irreplaceable value of live event experience in learning the process of wrestling. He highlighted that there is no replacement for going out and working in front of fans due to the feedback that they get.

“That’s my biggest concern for our next generation,” Rollins said. “You’re plucking from a world where these guys don’t really follow wrestling or may not be fans, and then they’re not getting the experience on top of it to learn how to be part of what we do and how to tell those stories. I do have a concern that over a few generations, that might be harmful to the future of the industry.”

  • Dream Match Takes Place On WWE Raw

WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY came out to the ring for a promo, where she called WrestleMania 41 – night 2 the best night of her life. NXT Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer came to the ring to show her respect and that SKY is the best. Therefore, she wanted to face the best.

SKY accepted her challenge and said that they should do it right now. WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce came out to tease the match happening by polling the crowd. He made it happen.

SKY retained the Women’s Title in the opening contest of WWE WrestleMania 41 – night 2 over Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair. She won the title from Ripley on March 3, 2025 during an episode of WWE Raw.

Vaquer\’s most recent match in NXT was at WWE Stand and Deliver last Saturday. She successfully defended the NXT Women\’s Championship in a Fatal 4-Way match against Giulia, Jaida Parker, and Jordynne Grace.

  • Becky Lynch Turns Heel On WWE Raw

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Title reign for Becky Lynch and Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyrie didn’t last long as they lost the titles on WWE Monday Night Raw.

Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez lost the titles to Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria at WWE WrestleMania 41 – night 2 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV. This was after WWE shot an angle on Saturday where Bayley, who was originally slated to team with Lyra, was pulled from the match due to backstage attack.

Coming out of the show, Lynch confirmed she is back full-time with WWE. On Raw, Lynch and Lyra lost the titles to Morgan and Rodriguez.

Post-match, Lynch attacked Lyra and trash-talked her before she hit her finisher. Lynch exited the ring while the fans were in shock.

WWE mentioned on commentary that Bayley is out with a shoulder injury.

  • Randy Orton Lays Out John Cena, Sets Up WWE Title Match

John Cena opened this week’s episode of WWE Raw to cut a promo about how he has 27 appearances, not wrestling matches, left before he retires.

“You heartless bastards, you boo him on Friday and cheer him on Friday then boo on Sunday, and I say his name and the man we all put on our shoulders last year because he finished his story now disgusts you? That’s what’s wrong with this.”

Cena continued, \”There is no one in the WWE with the ruthless aggression of John Cena, but unlike you, I have a heart…\”

He said that there’s no one in WWE who has the stones or ruthless aggression to step up and take the title from him. He told the fans to take a good look at the last real champion. This led to Randy Orton sneaking up and hitting an RKO to lay out Cena.

This appears to be setting up a match at WWE Backlash in three weeks, as both stars are advertised for the event. This will be Cena\’s first Backlash appearance since 2009 and is expected to be his final one before his retirement in December 2025. These two stars were rivals for years with both publicly talking about wanting to wrestle each other one more time.
