  • Injured AEW Star Was Backstage At Double Or Nothing

AEW star Juice Robinson, who has been out of action for several months, was reportedly backstage at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view in Glendale, Arizona, over the weekend. PWInsider.com confirmed his presence at the event.

Robinson\’s last announced participation was for the 2024 Continental Classic. He was slated as a competitor in November 2024 but was pulled from the tournament due to injury on December 3, 2024, and was subsequently replaced by Komander. The nature of his injury has kept him off AEW programming since that time.

Robinson returned from injury at AEW Double or Nothing on May 26, 2024, helping Bang Bang Gang retain the Unified World Trios Championship. Jay White then granted Robinson a share of the titles under the Freebird Rule.

However, on July 13, 2024, Collision, interim EVP Christopher Daniels overruled this and stripped Bang Bang Gang of the championships. Robinson and The Gunns subsequently failed to win the vacant AEW World Trios Championship the following week.

No further details were provided regarding the reason for his visit or a potential timeline for his in-ring return. It\’s unclear when he will be cleared, and if he has already been cleared, when he could make a return.

WWE Women\’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan made her return to WWE television on the May 26, 2025, episode of Monday Night Raw. Morgan’s hiatus began after the April 28th Raw, where she announced she was taking time off for her role in the movie \”Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo.\” Her last match before this break was a successful WWE Women\’s Tag Team Championship defense alongside Raquel Rodriguez on the April 22nd episode of NXT against Gigi Dolin and Tatum Paxley.

Speaking on Close Up w/ Renee Paquette, the current Ring of Honor Tag Team Champion discussed his passion for wrestling and future aspirations after 37 years in the business. Rhodes acknowledged the eventual end but emphasized his current drive:

He revealed that he has given his retirement match considerable thought, stating, “That, I’ve thought up, I’ve thought in depth, and there’s a list of three guys. I’d rather not say them right now, I want to keep that close to my chest, but I do have a plan.”

  • Backstage Update On Mandatory WWE Talent Meeting

WWE Holds Talent Meeting to Educate Roster on Advanced Medical Therapies like PRP & Stem Cells

WWE held a talent meeting this past week focused on providing information about advanced medical procedures designed to aid injury recovery, including Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and stem cell therapies. PWInsider first reported on the meeting, which Fightful Select later confirmed, noting it involved WWE\’s medical staff and aimed to educate the roster on these developing treatments.

During the discussion, WWE reportedly \”noted that they may even end up working with the stem cell company that a lot of talent have been going to in Cancun,\” acknowledging the increasing popularity and perceived benefits of these therapies within professional wrestling. The success story of Rey Mysterio, who famously extended his career through the use of stem cell therapy, was highlighted as a notable example.

However, WWE officials made it clear that the company \”stated that they weren\’t endorsing the therapies but wanted to educate and highlight an understanding, medical consensus and the like to help everyone evaluate options for recovery.\” The primary goal was to differentiate scientifically proven aspects of these treatments from those that still lack conclusive data.

According to reports, talent who attended \”found the meeting enlightening,\” indicating it served as a valuable session for understanding their potential treatment options and making informed decisions about their health and recovery.

Wight, who joined AEW in 2021, has undertaken various roles, including color commentator for AEW Dark: Elevation, occasional in-ring competitor, and an authority figure in Ring of Honor. His less frequent television appearances had led some to question his current standing.

During a recent interview with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Wight tated, \”I am still with AEW. I\’m still very happy with AEW, very happy with Tony Khan and what he\’s doing.\” He acknowledged online critics but noted his appreciation for the AEW environment.

\”I appreciate Tony and the way he treats his talent, and the kind of liberty that Tony gives talent to discover themselves and find themselves,\” Wight explained.

\”It\’s not a cookie-cutter process in AEW; they\’re not saying, \’This is your ring entrance. This is how you pose. This is what you wear.\’ AEW is very grassroots, authentic. For me at this stage of the game, I appreciate that.\”

Despite the odds, D\’Amore had high praise for Punk\’s approach: \”He listened; he was interested. He never big-timed TNA once, and he conducted himself the way we’d all wish a professional would.\” Ultimately, Punk chose a different path, which D\’Amore respected: \”Ultimately, he went back to WWE, which, of course, is where he belongs.\”

  • AEW’s Mariah May: “God Forbid A Girl Takes A Vacation”

Her time away from the screen led to some fan speculation online regarding her status. One social media user commented, “one day, many years from now, someone will ask, whatever happened to @MariahMayx?” – a reference to her cinematic \”feature\” segments with Storm.

May offered a direct and lighthearted response to quell any concerns, replying on X: \”God forbid a girl takes a vacation.\”

Meanwhile, May’s on-screen associate and mentor is gearing up for a significant championship defense. Storm is scheduled to defend her AEW Women\’s World Championship against challenger Mina Shirakawa at the upcoming AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view this weekend. Adding credibility to Scott\’s potential for a more physical role, it\’s noted that he has been training with WWE Hall of Famer Booker T in Texas.

Further elaborating on these potential plans, a more specific and six-man tag team match has also been proposed. It\’s understood that in any scenario where Cena and Scott team up, Rhodes would likely be positioned as an opponent. However, all these star-studded concepts are currently in the pitch phase and remain creative ideas under consideration within WWE. The company has not yet finalized these plans, and the ultimate direction for Travis Scott\’s involvement at Money in the Bank is still to be determined.

Given his high-impact in-ring style and rigorous travel, Ospreay praised AEW\’s medical staff for their attentive care. “We’ve got a great medical team backstage at AEW. • Karrion Kross Believes WWE Fans Have A \”Starvation For Authenticity\”

Karrion Kross recently shared his thoughts on what he believes modern WWE fans are looking for in performers.

This came up during his conversation with Ariel Helwani, following Kross\’s notable involvement at WWE WrestleMania 41, where AJ Styles lost to Logan Paul after Kross\’s interference was rejected, leading to a much-discussed promo from Kross.

Kross feels that today\’s audience has a strong desire for genuine connection and realism from the superstars they watch, even within the world of sports entertainment. He believes this authenticity is crucial for truly engaging WWE fans.

“There’s a starvation for authenticity that the audience wants right now. I know it’s specifically from me, but I feel like it’s in general,\” Kross explained. \”People can feel like the difference between theatrics, which obviously are still appreciated, and then there’s a difference between somebody being real. That, I think, has always drawn people in.” His comments suggest that he aims to bring that sense of \”being real\” to his own performances to better connect with the WWE audience. This view likely influenced his \”worked-shoot\” promo style after WrestleMania.

Kross’s intense promo afterwards left some WWE fans wondering if he was unhappy with his position in the company. Speaking with Ariel Helwani, Kross directly addressed these thoughts.

He made it clear that his strong words did not come from a place of unhappiness, but from a deep desire to achieve more and give WWE fans their money\’s worth.

“The biggest misconception anyone can take from what I said on WrestleMania was that I’m disgruntled. I’m not,\” Kross stated. \”I’m just really, really, really hungry, man. I’m really hungry. All of this is coming from a place of passion. It’s all about the grand scheme of things. People are paying to come watch the greatest show in the world. I want to be a reason on the show where they felt like they got every single cent worth of that. I want to be more than just an Easter egg.”
