  • The Undertaker On American Badass Gimmick: “I Thought It Had More Legs”

During the latter stages of the Attitude Era and into the Ruthless Agression Era, The Undertaker famously switched his character to the \”American Badass,\” a biker persona that was a stark departure from his \”Deadman\” gimmick.

In an exclusive interview with Andrew Ravens of WrestleStar, he reflected on that period and admitted he felt the character could have lasted longer.

\”Yeah, no, I thought it had more legs,\” The Undertaker said. \”I think really, we just kind of began to scratch the surface of what the range of that character would have been.\”

He also shed light on the creative dynamic with Vince McMahon at the time, noting that while the former WWE Chairman supported the change, he was always keen on bringing back the original Undertaker.

\”It was just, you know, just sometimes you can only fight the man so long and, you know, he loved—Vince, I\’m talking about Vince—he loved his Undertaker,\” he explained. \”He was on board when I came up with the American Badass… he understood my reasoning and my logic behind doing it. But he was also like, always waiting on the day of the return. You know, the hat, the coat….But yeah, I thought it had more legs. But yeah, everything worked out all right.\”

  • Canelo Alvarez Teases Future WWE Appearance

A major name from the world of boxing may be making his way to a WWE ring in the future. Canelo Alvarez, the reigning Undisputed Super Middleweight Champion, hinted at a potential appearance during a recent press conference.

The press event was to promote the boxing superfight between Alvarez and Terence Crawford, which will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on September 13, 2025. The event is being promoted by UFC President Dana White under his new boxing venture, which falls under the TKO Group Holdings corporate umbrella alongside WWE and UFC. This corporate synergy has led to increased crossover between the brands.

When asked at the press conference about potentially appearing on WWE programming, Alvarez gave a response that suggested discussions have already taken place.

“We’re talking about it,” Alvarez said. “Maybe. Maybe you will see me in WWE at some point.”

While Alvarez has not yet appeared for WWE, his opponent, Terence Crawford, made a notable appearance on the July 26, 2024, episode of SmackDown. During the show, Crawford was involved in a physical angle where he laid out former United States Champion Austin Theory with a punch, showing that WWE is open to featuring these high-profile boxers on their programming.

  • Eric Bischoff Calls TNA The \’Sleeper\’ In The Wrestling Industry, Warns AEW

Eric Bischoff offered high praise for TNA Wrestling on the latest 83 Weeks podcast, highlighting the promotion\’s recent improvements and growing momentum.

He went as far as to call TNA the \”sleeper\” in the industry and issued a direct warning to AEW to pay attention. TNA and WWE have been in a working relationship where talent from both promotions appear on each other\’s programming.

“The show\’s really getting good… that show is getting much better. It\’s gaining momentum, bigger crowds. It\’s the sleeper. I think I said it here a couple of months ago, TNA is the sleeper in the wrestling industry,\” Bischoff stated.

\”If I was Tony Khan, I\’d forget all about WWE and be looking closely at what\’s coming up my back, because they\’re coming. I\’m really impressed… If they keep moving in the right direction, opportunities are going to come their way that\’s going to catapult them to a much better position, because they\’re doing the basics right. They\’re doing the basics right, and the people are responding. So hats off.”

  • Original AEW All In: Texas Opponent For Mercedes Mone Revealed

The booking strategy behind Mercedes Moné\’s undefeated streak in AEW has been directly influenced by AEW\’s plans for the upcoming All In pay-per-view.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Mone was not against taking a loss to build a bigger story. Specifically, a match with ROH Women\’s Champion Athena was discussed.

However, once AEW finalized the All In card, the plan for Mone shifted. The company decided on a high-profile match between Mone and AEW Women\’s World Champion Toni Storm. With that match set, having Mone lose in the lead-up, including in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament final against Kris Statlander, was seen as counterproductive.

Meltzer also revealed that Storm was not the first choice for Mone\’s opponent at the stadium show. The initial plan involved another top star who is no longer with the company, Mariah May. May has since joined WWE and featured as a top star on WWE NXT.

  • Rey Mysterio Explains Why He Has Never Turned Heel In WWE

Throughout his legendary, decades-long WWE career, Rey Mysterio has remained one of the company\’s most beloved babyfaces. In a recent interview with WrestleZone, the WWE Hall of Famer explained why he has never had a full-blown heel persona, stating it would be \”very hard\” for him to get pushed to that edge.

\”They (fans) would really have to, like, push me to the edge. I mean, even my wife says, like, ‘I never see you get mad at anyone but me. Like, why do you not fight? You don’t fight with anyone, but when you want to fight, you fight with me.’ So, I mean, it would be very hard for me to get pushed.\”

Mysterio reflected on his time in WCW as part of the Filthy Animals faction, noting that was the closest he ever came to being a true heel character.

“I think the only time that I’ve been closest to becoming a heel, or I guess we were just having fun cuz that’s how we were, is Filthy Animals. That has been the closest, but overall, I just, uh, my personality, my demeanor is very laidback. So, I think it would be very hard.\”

Mysterio is currently out of action with a torn abductor muscle and is not expected to return until August.

  • WWE Is Looking To Sign A Former Champion

According to a new report from WrestleVotes Radio, WWE has \”significant interest\” in signing legendary luchador Psycho Clown to a main roster contract. The potential move would be another major step in WWE\’s integration with the recently acquired Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide promotion.

The report notes that WWE is \”intrigued by his character\” and the unique \”marketing abilities\” that are attached to the popular star. Psycho Clown, a former multi-time champion in AAA, is one of the most recognizable figures in modern lucha libre.

This news comes after Psycho Clown made his WWE-affiliated debut at the Worlds Collide event on June 7. There, he teamed with Pagano and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. in a losing effort against WWE\’s Legado Del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Berto & Angel).

He is also scheduled to appear at the upcoming WWE SuperShow live events in Mexico on July 26 and 27.

WWE\’s interest in Psycho Clown follows reports that another AAA star, Mr. Iguana, is also set for a move to the main roster. The potential signing of one of AAA\’s most loyal, long-tenured stars would be one of the most significant acquisitions since the partnership began.

  • WWE Star Is Reportedly Being Pushed For A Brand Switch

According to a new report from WrestleVotes, there is a significant backstage push within WWE to move popular superstar LA Knight from SmackDown to the Monday Night Raw brand. The report indicates a growing sentiment that a brand switch would be a positive step for his career.

The move is reportedly being advocated for by \”more than a handful of people\” within the company. The belief is that having Knight on the Netflix-broadcasted Raw would serve as a \”refreshing change\” for his character.

WrestleVotes provided the following details: “According to those within the company, more than a handful of people are advocating for LA Knight to be moved to the #WWERAW brand in the near future as his presence on Netflix could be viewed as something of a refreshing change.”

LA Knight has become one of WWE\’s most popular stars due to his organic connection with the audience. While he has been featured in main event programs on SmackDown, including challenging for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, he has yet to win a world title.

A move to Raw would provide Knight with a new roster of opponents and fresh storyline opportunities. It could be seen as the final step needed to elevate him into a permanent main event attraction and world title contender.

John Cena is continuing his successful transition from the wrestling ring to Hollywood with a leading role in the new action-comedy \”Heads of State.\” The former WWE Champion will star alongside Idris Elba and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the film, which is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on July 2, 2025.

  • Matt Riddle Claims Massive Success After OnlyFans Launch

Former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle has announced that his new venture on the subscription-based platform OnlyFans has been a massive success. \”The King of Bros\” launched the account earlier this week and is already ranking among the platform\’s top creators.

Riddle took to social media to share the impressive milestone with his followers just two days after the page went live. He thanked his fans for their immediate and overwhelming support.

“Top 2% in 2 days…crazy bro. Thank you ??,” Riddle wrote.

This new endeavor comes after Riddle\’s release from WWE in 2023. Since his departure, the former United States Champion has remained active in professional wrestling, competing for major promotions such as New Japan Pro-Wrestling as well as on the independent circuit.

His immediate success on a new platform demonstrates the dedicated fanbase \”The Original Bro\” maintains. The swiftness with which his page became one of the top performing accounts on the entire platform indicates a significant level of interest in his post-WWE career.

  • Goldberg Says His Last Match ‘Wasn’t The Right Way To Go Out

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg has revealed his motivation for returning for one final match, stating that his last outing against Roman Reigns was not the right way for his career to end. The 58-year-old is now set to challenge GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship on July 12.

Speaking with Dan Sileo, Goldberg explained that his 2022 match against Reigns in Saudi Arabia was compromised. He said he was still recovering from a recent bout with COVID and had not trained properly for the encounter.

“Unfortunately, my last match with the WWE—contractually—you know, I was against Roman Reigns… I hadn’t trained for three months. I had COVID. And so, to make an extremely long story short, it just wasn’t the right way for me to go out, that’s all.”

Goldberg revealed that a previously agreed upon retirement match with Vince McMahon was scrapped after McMahon left the company. When WWE called him “out of the blue” with a new opportunity, he instantly accepted so he could “go out on your own terms.”

He concluded with a bold statement about his current capabilities, insisting he still has a point to prove.

“At 58 years old, if I have to go in there hobbled, if I have to go in there 30 pounds lighter—I don’t give a sh*t because I have a point to make… 50% of me—is better than 99% of the pricks on the planet. I believe it is.”

  • Backstage News On Why Jordynne Grace\’s WWE Theme Music Was Changed

A new report from Fightful Select has revealed the reasons why TNA star Jordynne Grace debuted a new theme song in NXT, which was met with a negative reaction from the live crowd. There were reportedly two key factors behind the change.

During a recent NXT taping, fans chanted \”fire Def Rebel\” at the new theme music. Grace later joked that she hoped fans would \”vibe with\” the new track.

The first reason for the change is WWE\’s renewed policy of wanting to own the rights to all theme music used on its programming. Grace personally owns the rights to her popular TNA theme, which she used in her initial NXT appearances.

The second reason was a direct creative conflict. The sirens used at the beginning of Grace\’s theme were deemed too similar to those in Bron Breakker\’s entrance music. Due to Breakker\’s family connection to Scott Steiner, whose theme famously featured a siren, WWE gave priority to Breakker\’s music.

  • Drew McIntyre Says He\’ll Never Take Risky \’One-And-Done\’ Bump Again

While currently on a break from WWE to heal from injuries, Drew McIntyre has reflected on his brutal 2024 Hell in a Cell match against CM Punk. Speaking on the Gorilla Position podcast, McIntyre specifically addressed a dangerous bump he took onto the steel stairs, calling it a \”one-and-done\” risk he will never take again.

The violent match at the Bad Blood premium live event was the culmination of a heated feud between McIntyre and Punk. McIntyre explained that he saw the match as a career-defining moment, similar to the classic \”blowoff\” matches between stars like Triple H and Mick Foley that he loved as a kid, which is why he was willing to take such a risk.

“I got lucky, convinced I could do it as safely as possible, and I did, but it’s not a risk I’ll ever take again. It’s the risk for that match, for that moment… for that match, I was willing to do something, yeah, a bit stupid, but it came off. It went as good as it can, considering it was legitimately my lower back I landed on. And, yep, it’s a one-and-done will never be done again and that match will live forever.”

McIntyre is currently on hiatus from WWE after it was reported he had been working through injuries for several weeks. He was written off television following a Cage Match loss to Damian Priest at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24. There is no current timetable for his return.

  • Liv Morgan Reportedly Undergoing Surgery

A new report from PWInsider has provided a significant update on WWE Women\’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan, stating she will require surgery for the shoulder injury suffered on the June 16 episode of Monday Night Raw.

Morgan sustained a dislocated shoulder moments into her match with Kairi Sane after landing awkwardly from a takedown. The match was immediately stopped, and she was taken backstage for medical attention.

The injury could not have come at a worse time, as it derails a major storyline that had just begun. Morgan attacked the returning Nikki Bella on the previous week\’s Raw, kicking off a high-profile feud that was expected to lead to a marquee match at the upcoming Evolution 2 premium live event. Those plans are now off the table.

Furthermore, as one-half of the reigning WWE Women\’s Tag Team Champions with Raquel Rodriguez, her long-term absence will almost certainly force the titles to be vacated. This is not Morgan\’s first serious shoulder injury, as she also missed significant time for a similar issue in 2023. A timeline for her return has not yet been announced.

  • Tony Khan Says He Never Wants To Get Physical In AEW Again

AEW President Tony Khan has made it clear that he has no desire to ever get physically involved in an on-screen angle again. In a recent interview with Yahoo Finance, Khan stated that his one experience being attacked in the ring was \”enough to keep me out for life.\”

The incident Khan is referring to occurred on the April 24, 2024, episode of AEW Dynamite. During that show, he was attacked by Jack Perry and The Young Bucks, with the angle culminating in Khan taking a spike piledriver from The Elite. The storyline resulted in him wearing a neck brace on television for several weeks.

Khan compared his ideal on-screen role to that of an NFL commissioner, a figure who facilitates the game but is not the center of attention.

“When you watch an NFL football game, it’s not 47 minutes of Roger [Goodell], and you don’t need to see 47 minutes of me on Dynamite. Nor do you ever really see me on the show. As the matchmaker and the promoter, I’m a device on the show. And one time, I was attacked — and I am very lucky to be sitting here with you right now, Brian. One year ago, I survived the deadliest move in pro wrestling: the spike piledriver… it’s banned in several states. It’s illegal in the state of Tennessee, it’s illegal in Mexico. I don’t want to necessarily get into the ring. My one time — I got tricked and attacked in the ring — is enough to keep me out for life.”

  • Chris Jericho Shows Off Incredible Body Transformation

Chris Jericho has revealed a significant body transformation during his current break from AEW programming. The former AEW World Champion has been absent from television since April 2025.

In a recent social media post, Jericho shared a photo of himself with a much leaner and more defined physique. The picture was part of a post promoting his upcoming appearance at the Washington State Summer Convention this weekend.

“Have a great week everybody! Make some cool s**t happen and see you all at @wasummercon this weekend!” Jericho wrote.

Since his last AEW appearance, Jericho has been busy with his music career, touring with his KISS cover band, Kuarantine, as well as his own band, Fozzy. Due to his lengthy absence, some fans have questioned his status with the company.

A recent report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that while Jericho is still with AEW and available to return, there are currently no creative plans in place for him. This suggests his break from the company is ongoing for the time being.

  • Updated Return Timeline For Rey Mysterio

The full story behind Rey Mysterio’s absence from WWE programming has been revealed. Wrestling veteran Konnan, speaking on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, confirmed that the WWE Hall of Famer is recovering from multiple injuries that required surgery and forced him to miss WrestleMania 41.

According to Konnan, Mysterio suffered a torn abductor muscle which required a surgical procedure. On top of that, he was also dealing with a damaged eardrum. Mysterio\’s last match was on the March 29 episode of SmackDown.

During the podcast, Konnan also provided the first concrete timeline for when fans can expect to see the legendary luchador back in the ring.

“He’s not back till August,” Konnan stated, confirming a summer return for Mysterio.

Konnan also noted that Mysterio is expected to be involved in future WWE and AAA crossover events once he is healthy.

“Yeah, he will be in future shows. Great working with him and Dom, and I can’t wait to see who else I’m going to get to work with.”

Despite the injuries, Mysterio did make a non-physical appearance at the recent WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event to engage with fans.

  • Mercedes Mone Sparks Relationship Rumors With AEW Wrestler

AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone and her fellow AEW star, The Beast Mortos, have sparked relationship rumors with a recent social media post. Mortos shared a photo of the two together that has the wrestling world buzzing.

In an Instagram story, Mortos, also known as \”The Minotaur of Wrestling,\” posted a picture of himself looking close with Mone. The photo was accompanied by a heartfelt caption written in Spanish.

“En tus brazos encuentro paz,” he wrote, which translates to “In your arms, I find peace.”

While the post has led to widespread fan speculation, it should be noted that there has been no official confirmation that the two are dating. Little is known about Mortos\’ personal life, though he recently shared that he is close to earning his law degree.

This comes nearly a year after Mone publicly opened up about her own personal life. In August 2024, she announced she had filed for divorce from her ex-husband, Sarath Thon, after being married since 2010. She shared at the time that they had been separated since December 2020. For now, the nature of Mone and Mortos\’ relationship remains personal.

  • WWE Star Was ‘Initially Hesitant’ About Changing His Gimmick

WWE SmackDown star Apollo Crews recently reflected on his \”Nigerian Prince\” character, calling the portrayal the \”most fun\” he has had in his wrestling career. Crews is currently sidelined with an injury but has been sharing updates on his recovery.

The character change occurred in 2021 when Crews turned heel and embraced his Nigerian heritage, adopting the persona of Nigerian royalty. The gimmick led to the most significant singles success of his career, culminating in an Intercontinental Championship victory over Big E at WrestleMania 37.

In a recent Instagram post, Crews admitted he was not immediately sold on the idea but grew to love it.

“I was initially hesitant, but embracing this character became some of the most fun I’ve had throughout my wrestling career,” Crews wrote. “I committed not only to performing to the best of my ability, but taking my physique to a different level as well.”

Crews has been out of action since February 2025 after undergoing surgery for a torn pectoral muscle. He has stated that he is \”crushing the rehab\” as he prepares for his eventual in-ring return to the SmackDown brand.

  • Britt Baker Getting Closer To Leaving AEW?

According to a new report from former WWE commentator Jonathan Coachman, Dr. Britt Baker is on her way out of AEW and is on the verge of signing with WWE. The claim comes after the former AEW Women’s World Champion has been absent from television since November 2024.

Speaking on his Behind The Turnbuckle podcast, Coachman reported that Baker\’s departure from AEW is imminent.

“Alright, so I just got this in real time. You guys know, I’ve just been breaking news left and right, and when it’s in context, I have yet to be wrong. So, I just found out there’s a name, a female name out there that is this close to signing with WWE. Any guesses?… Ding ding ding ding. Gone from AEW, close. My sources keep coming to your boy.”

This report follows earlier news from PWTorch.com, which stated there was \”a lot of frustration with her\” within AEW management. Baker was also reportedly suspended in 2024 following a backstage altercation.

Once positioned as the face of the AEW women’s division, Baker has seen her status surpassed in recent years by stars like Toni Storm and Mercedes Moné. If Coachman\’s report is accurate, it would mark the departure of one of AEW\’s most recognizable original stars.

  • Liv Morgan Suffers Injury On WWE Raw

WWE Women\’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan suffered an apparent shoulder injury during her match on the June 16 episode of Monday Night Raw. Her match against Kairi Sane had to be stopped just moments after it began.

The injury occurred in the opening seconds of the bout. After a move from Sane, Morgan landed awkwardly on her shoulder. She was visibly in pain and immediately rolled out of the ring, clutching her arm as the show went to a commercial break.

When Raw returned, it was announced that Morgan was being tended to by the WWE medical staff. The commentary team later provided an update, with Michael Cole stating he was told that Morgan had suffered a dislocated shoulder.

The injury comes at a critical time for Morgan and the women\’s division. She is currently embroiled in a high-profile storyline with the recently returned Nikki Bella, whom she attacked on last week\’s show. This apparent injury now puts her status as a champion and the future of her feud with Bella in serious doubt. WWE has not yet provided an official statement on the severity of the injury or a timetable for her return.

  • Goldberg vs. GUNTHER Set For WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg has returned to set up his final match. On the June 16 episode of Monday Night Raw, Goldberg made a surprise appearance, confronting World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER and challenging him to a match at the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event special.

The segment began with GUNTHER in the ring discussing his future as champion. He was then interrupted by the iconic entrance music of Goldberg, who marched to the ring to a massive ovation from the Green Bay crowd.

Goldberg stated that GUNTHER had \”started something with his family\” at the recent Bad Blood event in Atlanta. He declared that he intended to \”finish it\” in the same city when WWE returns there for Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12.

The challenge lays the groundwork for what is widely expected to be the final match of Goldberg\’s legendary, Hall of Fame career. The bout will see the WCW icon attempt to capture a world title one last time in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.

The showdown between the two powerhouse competitors is now set, adding a marquee match to the July 12 event and creating a definitive final chapter for Goldberg\’s career.

  • Asuka Returns From Injury After More Than A Year Away

Asuka made her surprise return to WWE on the June 16 episode of Monday Night Raw after being out of action for more than a year. \”The Empress of Tomorrow\” immediately made an impact, winning her first-round match in the Queen of the Ring tournament.

This was Asuka\’s first appearance since undergoing knee surgery in May 2024. Her last match was at the Backlash France event, where she and Kairi Sane lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. During her long absence, her former faction, Damage CTRL, quietly disbanded.

Making her entrance to her popular original theme music, \”The Future\” by CFO$, Asuka competed in a fatal four-way qualifying match against Raquel Rodriguez, Ivy Nile, and Stephanie Vaquer. The finish saw Rhea Ripley interfere, costing Rodriguez the match and allowing Asuka to get the pinfall victory.

With the win, Asuka now advances to the semi-finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament, where she is set to face Alexa Bliss. The other semi-final on the Raw side of the bracket will see Roxanne Perez take on Jade Cargill. The tournament final will take place at WWE Night of Champions on June 28, with the winner receiving a world title match at SummerSlam.
