The Raw after WrestleMania is usually a show of surprises. One such big surprise was when MVP turned on Bobby Lashley on this year\’s show, and aligned himself with Omos instead. Sarah Schreiber caught up with the former champion after the show.
She asked him about his motivation behind this move. Replying to it, MVP explained that Bobby Lashley had forgotten who helped him become the All Mighty. On the other hand, Omos needs someone to help him unlock his true potential:
\”The All Mighty Bobby Lashley, this force of nature. Somewhere along the line he forgot about the conversation we had in that warehouse all those years ago. See, all I did was help the All Mighty remember what he was capable of doing.
But somewhere along the way he forgot about who helped him get back on that path.\” said MVP, \”Now it\’s all about, \’What I did. I\’m the Almighty, I did this, I did that.\’ Omos, he\’s in need of someone that can help him unlock his potential. To truly be the monster that he is. I think I\’m just the man to do that.\”
Bobby Lashley wrestled his first match since Royal Rumble at WrestleMania 38. He defeated Omos in a singles match. This week\’s Raw then saw The Franchise Playa introducing Lashley and cutting a promo. Omos came out and challenged Bobby to a rematch. However, MVP turned on the All-Mighty before the match could begin.
WrestleMania 38 saw Edge apparently starting his own faction in WWE. Now an AEW star has taken a shot at the new group of the Rated R Superstar.
House Of Black member Broody King took on his Twitter to react to a picture of this new alliance. He wrote \”When you order House of Black on Wish.com\”
WrestleMania 38 saw Edge facing AJ Styles in a singles match. The bout took place during night two of the event on Sunday, April 4. The ending of this match saw AJ delivering a Styles Clash on former world champion.
After a failed pin attempt, he went to the apron for a Phenomenal Forearm. However, Damian Priest made an appearance at the ringside. Styles got distracted by Priest for a second. This allowed Edge to hit a spear on his opponent and get the victory.
This week\’s episode of Monday Night Raw then saw the Attitude Era star cutting a promo about his new partner. The duo also attacked AJ when he came out looking for revenge over his Mania loss.
Reports say that Edge will be leading a faction in the coming times. It will be interesting to see which other WWE stars join him in this group.
The best gimmicks in wrestling are the ones that are very close to the wrestler\’s real-life personality. Stone Cold Steve Austin is one great example of it. The Rattlesnake cares for the rules off-screen, just as much he does while he is on the screen.
This was evident once again during his appearance at WrestleMania 38. Austin defeated Kevin Owens in a no holds barred match on the show. Pat McAfee, who was in the arena before the PPV saw the Attitude Era star practicing his entrance before his big return at the Show of Shows.
On the latest episode of his podcast, McAfee told an interesting story of how Steve Austin reacted to being told not to use his middle finger during the PPV:
\”He was working on coming out. And you know, we\’re in a different era now of the WWE than we were then. So I got to watch this dude\’s entrance within an empty stadium or whatever. He goes right to that top rope, f**king both fingers straight up in the air. He\’s doing his whole thing.
And then I see three producers running over [to him] \’Can\’t do that. Can\’t do that\’. So he does it again. \’Can\’t do that.\’ He was like, \’Alright.\’ So he just put his fist up or whatever. So then as I was watching him [at the show], I was wondering, \’There\’s no way he keeps that middle finger down, the middle finger from Steve Austin is coming at some point.\’ And then last night, he had a couple.\”

William Regal has reacted to Triple H officially cementing the end of his wrestling career at night two of WrestleMania 38.
The wrestling veteran took on his Twitter to comment on The Game\’s gesture of leaving his boots in the ring at the grandest stage of them all.
Regal noted how he and Triple H worked together for 28 years. They went through many ups and downs and helped many people get the opportunity they deserved:
\”For 28 years we did our bit together, through up’s and down and some bad but mostly good decisions, to be Pro’s and make the job right. Lots of people got opportunities and made memories for themselves. Job done pal.x\”

William Regal got his first major opportunity in wrestling when he joined WCW in early 1993. Triple H followed in his footsteps when he signed a contract with the promotion a year later.
The two went on to become big stars and have lengthy on-screen careers for WWE, before transitioning to a more behind the scene role in the company.
Regal became a talent scout for WWE. He was an integral part of Triple H\’s team in NXT before being released by the promotion in January this year.
The Young Bucks are never shy to react to the happenings of the wrestling world and their responses are especially notable when they are about someone close to them.
One such reply from the AEW stars came in response to Cody Rhodes. The former TNT champion made his triumphant WWE return after 6 years at WrestleMania 38.
Cody later commented on the moment on Twitter, writing that wrestling is a love story. The ever opportunist Bucks didn\’t waste any time. They responded to their friend, joking that their story was never going to be romantic enough for him:
After leaving WWE in 2016, Cody Rhodes joined The Young Bucks and other members of The Elite. This group took over the independent wrestling scene by storm.
In 2018, this group took on a challenge from wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer and sold out a ten thousand seat arena on their own.
The event called ALL IN later became the foundation for the formation of All Elite Wrestling, the first major wrestling promotion to compete with WWE in two decades.
Though Cody Rhodes surprised everyone by leaving the company he helped build earlier this year. Now the wrestling veteran has returned to where it all started.
The confrontation between Vince McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin at WrestleMania 38 became even more memorable because of McMahon\’s botched Stunner. Mick Foley also had his fun with the spot.
The WWE Hall Of Famer reacted to the whole thing on Twitter. He first made a tweet wondering if this was the worst Stunner ever.
Foley then posted a video of his reaction to the spot and in another tweet, he mentioned that Mr McMahon\’s leg seemed to have buckled before the move:
The night two of WrestleMania 38 featured a match between Austin Theory and Pat McAfee. The WWE chairman was at ringside to encourage Theory for this bout.
McAfee won this fight via roll up. He challenged Mr McMahon to a match afterward, which the WWE owner accepted. Vince won this match with some help from Theory.
As Mr McMahon was celebrating his victory in the ring, Stone Cold Steve Austin\’s music hit. The Texas Rattlesnake walked down to the ring to a big applause.
Steve Austin first stunned Theory. The Attitude Era star then turned his attention towards the boss. He offered him a beer before giving McMahon a stunner as well.
Stone Cold then invited Pat McAfee into the ring to share a beer with him but ended up giving him a Stunner as well. The segment ended with Austin alone standing tall.
Roman Reigns picked up another huge win in the main event of WrestleMania 38. He defeated Brock Lesnar to become the new Undisputed Universal Champion.
Though many fans noted how the ending of the match fell flat. It appears that an injury The Tribal Chief suffered in the final minutes of the match may be the reason for it.
Reigns was heard telling his special counsel Paul Heyman that something \’is out\’ towards the ending of the title unification match.
Many believed that the Head Of The Table may have popped his shoulder during the bout. Though as seen below, the photos that have surfaced since then suggests that he may have torn a muscle:
Roman Reigns also seems to be struggling to hold both the titles at first after his big win. He did manage to end the show flaunting both the belts.
Neither WWE nor Reigns himself have commented on his injury so far. So it\’s hard to say if the injury is serious or if he will be missing any ring time due to it.
There is no word yet on the future of the unified titles either. We will have to see if WWE keeps both the world titles together or separates them anytime soon.
The first night of WrestleMania 38 was plagued with timing issues. It led to both The New Day\’s match and the special entrance of Drew McIntyre being cut from the show.
While the New Day\’s encounter was rescheduled for night 2 of the show, fans criticized the company for cutting the Scottish Warrior\’s entrance while showing many lengthy video packages.
However, according to Fightful Select, it weren\’t the officials who made this call, and McIntyre himself made the decision to cut his entrance from the PPV.
Per the report, the former WWE champion preferred to have a more personal connection to the crowd instead.
The people who were brought in to the show for Drew McIntyre\’s spot were still paid for their appearance and they all received all-access passes to WrestleMania 38.
The SmackDown star finally got his revenge over Happy Corbin in their match at the Grandest Stage of Them All. This was the second bout of the night.
McIntyre was presented strongly and he even kicked out of the End of Days which is one of the most protected finishers in WWE. Drew then delivered a Futureshock DDT and Claymore Kick to Corbin for the win.
If there is one thing Conor McGregor excels at apart from MMA, it\’s knowing how to keep making headlines and get people talking about him using trending topics.
The Notorious one has done it once again with WrestleMania 38. He has revealed the reason why he wasn\’t at the Show Of Shows.
The former UFC champion made a tweet on the matter reading: \”Why wasn’t I at WrestleMania? They all fear me, that’s why.\”
Why wasn’t I at Wrestlemania? They all fear me, that’s why.
This isn\’t the first time Conor McGregor has gotten himself involved in talks about pro wrestling. He has had back and forth with WWE stars multiple times in the past.
Back in 2016, McGregor claimed that he can slap the head of the entire WWE roster. This prompted a response from many WWE stars telling him that he would receive an equal response.
Talking about him potentially signing a contract with the company, Triple H had said that Conor McGregor versus Vince McMahon was \’a match made in heaven.\’
There is no news about Conor possibly making a WWE appearance anytime soon, but you can never predict the Irish star\’s next move.
Would you like to see Conor McGregor being a part of next year\’s WrestleMania from Hollywood? Let us know in the comment section.
AJ Styles competed in a dream match at WrestleMania 38 when The Phenomenal one went up against Edge in a singles match on night 2 of the PPV.
Though what caught people\’s attention was the fact that the former world champion was cut open even before the match began. A pretty noticeable cut was visible on his upper right cheek during his entrance
There was a lot of speculation on what happened with AJ. It appears that he suffered the cut after bumping into the star-shaped entranceway as seen in the video below:
Despite the cut, the former NJPW star went on to have a lengthy match with Edge. The injury didn\’t seem to have bothered him much during the contest.
The ending of this match saw AJ Styles hitting a Styles Clash in his third attempt. To the surprise of the crowd Edge somehow managed to kick out of the finisher.
AJ then went to the ring apron for a Phenomenal Forearm but Damian Priest came out of nowhere. Styles got distracted for a second before focusing on his opponent.
The distraction was enough for Edge to counter and he knocked Styles out with a spear while he was still in the air. Edge went on to pin the former champion. This appears to be the start of the reported heel faction led by the Rated R Superstar.
Cody Rhodes had very little control in WWE when he left the company six years ago but when he came back, he came back on his own terms.
The American Nightmare not only got a hero\’s welcome and a big match at WrestleMania, but he did so while keeping all the aspects of the persona he worked hard to build in the last six years.
During his post-show interview with David Shoemaker, Rhodes revealed how Vince McMahon reacted when he asked to keep his entrance music and look upon his comeback to the promotion:
“I remember saying it had to be The American Nightmare,” Cody said. “To hear Vince say ‘well it\’s not broke,’ it’s vindication to prove people wrong who doubted you and prove people right who were on board with you.\”
Cody Rhodes also confirmed that he will be making an appearance on this Monday\’s episode of Raw. He will talk about the unfinished business that has brought him back:
\”I’m going to talk about it all on Raw, but it’s pretty clear what I am here to do, there’s unfinished business for my family that we never got, and I am going to be the one to get it.”
It has been confirmed that Cody has signed a multi-year deal with WWE after his triumphant return and big win over Seth Rollins at the grandest stage of them all.
Ronda Rousey was under the impression that she will be main eventing the night 1 of WrestleMania 38 and the Rowdy one wasn\’t happy when she was told otherwise.
Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer provided some update on the former Raw women\’s champion during his WrestleMania review.
According to the wrestling journalist, Rousey was under the impression that she would be going last at the PPV on Saturday. She even said so during her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The former UFC star was \’furious\’ when she found out that it won\’t be the case on Friday night. After getting the news, she walked out of the tapings before the Hall Of Fame ceremony took place.
Though \’cooler heads\’ prevailed and Ronda showed up at WrestleMania to do her job, where she lost her singles match to Charlotte Flair.
The ending of this bout saw the referee getting knocked out from an accidental blow. Ronda Rousey caught Flair in an armbar and she tapped but the referee was down.
The SmackDown star broke the hold and went to wake up the referee. The distraction allowed The Queen to hit Rousey with a big boot to the head. She then pinned the former champion to win the match.
Stone Cold Steve Austin opened one last can of whoop-ass for Kevin Owens as he had promised during WrestleMania 38 night 1 main event.
Everyone expected Austin to do his signature moves and open up cans of beer at the show, but he did much more than that.
Seeing the veteran wrestle once again after 19 years reminded people of the Attitude Era. Many wrestling personalities reacted to the main event on Twitter.
This list included people such as Sasha Banks who said she loves Steve Austin and Mickie James who noted how Austin is still one of the most over-stars in the business:
The Texas Rattlesnake wrestled a No Holds Barred match. He not only delivered some impressive offense but Steve Austin took some pretty serious-looking bumps during the bout as well.
The match ended with Kevin Owens accidentally hitting himself with a chair. Stone Cold took the opportunity to deliver a stunner and pin the former Universal champion.
Lance Storm reacted to the ending spot by remembering a similar spot from Kurt Angle. Gabe Sapolsky on the other hand promised to reveal the backstory of this confrontation one day:
Other names to have reacted to this all-out brawl included WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley, Matt Hardy, Bully Ray, Liv Morgan and more. You can check out all the reactions to this WrestleMania main event below:
Happy for Kev. Happy for Cody. VERY happy for Steve. Also happy for Sting. Happy for myself. Happy for Bryan. This isn’t controversial. Fuck Eddie Kingston. Oh, happy for Edge!
Cody Rhodes made his triumphant return at WrestleMania 38. His comeback was one of the biggest stories coming out of night 1 of the Show Of Shows.
The big moment created a huge buzz across the wrestling world. It led to not only fans but many wrestling personalities reacting to the amazing moment on social media.
The Nature Boy Ric Flair sent out congratulations to Cody Rhodes. He explained how Cody\’s father, the late great Dusty Rhodes would be reacting to the match:
Congratulations @CodyRhodes! Your Dad Is Going “God Damn!” Right Now. What An Amazing Match! #WrestleMania
The American Nightmare faced off against Seth Rollins in a singles match. The bout was filled with call-backs from Rhodes\’ career and he went on to win the fight.
Members of his family also took the time to react to it. Brandi Rhodes posted a photo with her husband while Dustin Rhodes reacted to a Cody cutter from the match:
Apart from this, people such as Amanda Huber, Matt Cardona, Paige, and many more took Twitter to share their feelings. You can check out some of the top reactions below:
Getting a hero\’s welcome at WrestleMania 38 was the biggest moment of Cody Rhodes\’ wrestling career. As much as Cody did it for his late great father Dusty Rhodes, he did it for his own daughter and wife as well. The second-generation star reacted to his huge moment at the Show Of Shows in a couple of backstage videos after his match against Seth Rollins.
Rhodes mentioned how he has been running away from the specter of Dusty for his whole career. After everything he has done in 16 years, he finally felt like he could do it for himself. He is now ready to play the game:
\”Everyone keeps saying the same two words. They say \’welcome home\’, and as flattering as that is and as much as I appreciated it, reciprocate the feeling. For the entire career of 16 years, I\’ve run away from the specter of Dusty Rhodes, the shadow because it\’s so big and so great,\”
And I finally felt like \’You know, I don\’t have to do it for him anymore. Maybe I could do it for me, and that will be doing it for him\’. I got the chance to go out there and do it in Texas.\” \” said Cody Rhodes, \”The last WrestleMania I was here as Stardust and to come back and to be me [is the] ultimate vindication. I\’m very happy. They say welcome home, I say \’I\’m ready to play the game, let\’s go.\’\”
Cody talked about the welcome he got from the crowd. He mentioned how Texas has seen people such as Steve Austin and The Undertaker. So you have to earn that reaction. He said that he worked for 16 solid years to earn the same. He thinks he is the best wrestler in the entire world and the only way to prove it is to win the big one.
Cody Rhodes returned home after 6 long years away at WrestleMania and it appears that the American Nightmare is here to stay.
The law firm representing the former TNT champion sent out a press release immediately after his triumphant return at the Show of Shows. It confirmed that Rhodes has signed a multiyear deal with WWE:
\”Saturday night, in front of a massive crowd at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Rhodes returned in a main event match with multi-time former WWE Champion Seth Rollins. Rhodes has inked a multi-year deal with the company.\”
Cody Rhodes' team of Hyperion, Spanos Law and Vision PR confirms he is signed to a multi-year WWE deal — and will serve as executive producer to the Dusty Rhodes documentary on A&E pic.twitter.com/wGX20b6UhE
The statement confirmed that apart from his contributions in the ring, Cody Rhodes will serve as the executive producer for an A&E biography on his father Dusty Rhodes.
The former AEW star surprised everyone when he made the decision to leave Tony Khan\’s promotion earlier this year. He had been rumored to make his WWE return since then but fans had their doubts about it actually happening until tonight.
Cody Rhodes has also broken up his silence on his big WrestleMania moment. He explained his decision by saying that he is still the kid that wants to earn a world title in WWE, something his father didn\’t get the chance to do.
Samoa Joe believes that WWE has shifted its focus from signing indie talents to athletes from other sports because of the rise of AEW.
The Samoan Submission Machine made his surprise ROH return during the Supercard Of Honor event. He then took part in the post-show media scrum.
During the talk, Joe who was working as a talent scout among other things during his second run with WWE, claimed that the company changed their policy because many better indie wrestlers are now working for AEW:
“You also have to understand the major shift was mainly because many of the better independent wrestlers are working for AEW,
So I mean, let’s just be honest here, when we were tapping into a market and looking for new athletes when I was with WWE at the time, when the markets tapped, you try to find a new market.\”
Over the last few months, WWE has revamped NXT from having an indie wrestling feel to the production values and set designs more akin to the main roster.
They have also shifted their focus from hiring more independent wrestling veterans to younger talents from other sports such as Gable Steveson.
Samoa Joe\’s last year in WWE was very bizarre. He first got released from his main roster contract in April 2021. Though Triple H, who was unhappy with this decision ended up bringing Joe back even before he could hit the free market at the end of his non-compete clause.
Unfortunately for the former NXT champion, his second run with the company was even shorter than his first. Triple H stepped away from his duties due to some major heart issues. Not too long after that, the officials decided to dismantle the team he had built and revamp the show he had worked hard to put on the map.
Samoa Joe opened up about this turn of events during the post Supercard of Honor media scrum. He explained that he decided to re-sign with the promotion because of William Regal and Triple H:
“My going back to WWE was majorly because of the people I worked with and relationships I built in the company, mainly two people in Triple H and William Regal,\”
With Triple H stepping away and Regal being released from his contract too, Samoa Joe knew the writing was on the wall for his departure as well:
\”As Triple H, dealing with his situation which I obviously knew about and was way more concerned about than my employment, Regal and his departure, I knew the writing was on the wall for me. Which is fine, we were a big collective team and a big collective think tank within the company and we went a different way.\”
Things seem to have ended up working out perfectly for Samoa Joe despite all this. He made his triumphant return to ROH last night. The Samoan Submission Machine is now all set to make his Dynamite debut this Wednesday.
WWE has thrown big money to re-sign superstars such as Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn recently. So the reports of AJ Styles re-signing with the company that came last month didn\’t surprise a lot of people.
Though the Phenomenal One recently made a clarification. He explained that he has just extended his deal instead of signing a new one.
Styles confirmed this tidbit during an interview with Inside The Ropes. He explained that he had a player option in his contract:
“Let me make one thing clear. I didn’t sign anything, recently. I had something on my contract where I got to decide, kind of a player option, what I want to do, and we just extended the contract that I already had.”
AJ 44 years old, AJ knows that his days in the ring are numbered and he has started thinking about his post wrestling career. Styles said that if he gets the chance, he would like to stay with WWE when he can\’t wrestle anymore:
“Time is running out, as far as AJ Styles is concerned. I am getting older. The ability to put on great matches is getting a little bit harder.
I don’t want to embarrass myself at the same time. I want to get out while I can and still have somewhat of a legacy. I don’t want to have to work anywhere else. I’d love to work within WWE, but I don’t know if that’s going to happen.\”
Styles said that he would like to become a talent scout for WWE. He mentioned how the company has changed their hiring policy but AJ believes that the people who come from the indie scene know the business better. They\’ll be a better fit for the promotion because they can put their ego aside and focus on the story.
The late Shad Gaspard was posthumously honored with the Warrior Award at this year\’s WWE Hall Of Fame induction ceremony from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX. The former WWE star\’s wife Siliana and his son Aryeh were in the attendance. While taking the award, Siliana described Shad as a sheepdog who always protected his flock:
\”There are endless stories I can tell about shad standing up for others, helping others, and fighting for what was right. Shad used to tell our son that there are two types of men in the world, The wolves and the sheepdogs, and he would tell him to always be a sheepdog. The definition of a sheepdog is as follows.
The Sheep Dog protects the flock of sheep from the wolves, by combining elements from both the sheep and the wolf. They are empathetic towards others, yet they understand violence and aggression. Most importantly, they know how to use their aggression to protect others. The true definition of Shad.\” She said about Shad Gaspard.
Siliana went on to tell her son that he was a sheepdog too. It was something Shad had seen long before her. She told Aryeh that the best of Shad lived in him and she wants him to hold his head high anytime anyone speaks of his dad. Shad Gaspard was given the award after he passed away while heroically saving his son from a strong current at Venice beach in May 2020.
The Undertaker has finally taken his rightful place in the WWE Hall Of Fame after an illustrious wrestling career spanning over three decades. WWE chairman Vince McMahon himself inducted the Dead Man. This was only the second time the boss took the time to do so after Stone Cold Steve Austin.
For the induction, the ring had several mannequin-like silhouettes, displaying the various looks of The Phenom over the years. McMahon first claimed that HOF is his favorite night of the year because fans and performers get a chance to say thank you to the inductees. Mr McMahon said that of all the performers of the past, there is no one more deserving of an induction than the one he is going to induct tonight.
He listed some of The Undertaker\’s greatest opponents. He praised Taker for his loyalty to WWE, mentioning how even at the height of Monday Night Wars, WCW never bothered to call because they knew the former world champion would not leave.
The Undertaker then came down the aisle. He received a huge standing ovation. He hugged Vince McMahon and told the chairman that he loved him. The ovation continued when the lights came back on. The moment made the wrestling legend emotional alongside all the fans.
Taker mentioned how he loves the business but it doesn\’t come without sacrifice. He said that he wouldn\’t be here without all the people that helped him in and outside the ring. The Undertaker said that his first thank you is to the WWE Universe. He said that fans\’ passion is the motivation he needed on many nights to push through the pain to perform. Taker said that the night is not only about him, it\’s about each and every one of the fans.
The Last Outlaw told the story of how he got into wrestling. He recalled how he had a promising career ahead of him in basketball before graduating school but his heart was already into wrestling. He was worried about what his parents and teammates would say if he chose pro wrestling. This is when his brother David told him that he can\’t live his life for what anyone else wanted him to do. He can only live his life for himself. This moment made everything clear for him. The journey of becoming a wrestler was not glamorous but it was the way he found his true identity.
Taker detailed the life lessons he has learned from his father and Mr McMahon. He mentioned Stephanie McMahon and joked that she is the little sister he never wanted. He thanked Shane McMahon before remembering the many names he spent time with on the road. The list included people such as The Godfather, Yokozuna, Brian “Crush” Adams and more.
The Undertaker remembered the importance of Paul Bearer in his career. He also recalled how Bearer used to put cucumbers in his drink if he left them alone. He said his story with Kane is the greatest wrestling story ever told. He claimed that Kane has the gift of making everything around him better, including Taker. He talked about his family and mentioned how he loves all of them. He remembered his parents and said that they were his biggest fans.
He finally talked about Vince McMahon. He remembered how the boss wasn\’t completely sold on him at first but he gave him a shot. Taker said that he is standing here because of Vince and Mr McMahon changed his life. He thanked the fans once again for their unwavering support. He said that now that he has entered the Hall Of Fame, we can be rest assured that he will Rest In Peace. The Undertaker bowed to the crowd to another big applause.
His music began as he started leaving. But he came back and put on the leather jacket and black hat from one of the mannequins. He says \’Never say Never!\’ He stopped midway to raise his fist in his signature gesture. The Undertaker then marched back as the Hall Of Fame ceremony went off air.
Tony Khan had promised a big show-closing surprise to the fans attending the Supercard Of Honor event and he delivered with the Samoan Submission Machine.
The main event of the first ROH PPV under the new owner saw Jonathan Gresham defeating Bandido to become the Undisputed ROH champion.
Jay Lethal and Sonjay Dutt however, hindered his championship celebration. They attacked the champion and Lethal stood tall with the belt.
Samoa Joe then made a surprise appearance. Lethal escaped the former NXT star but Joe choked out Dutt to end the show.
Tony Khan took on his Twitter to announce that the wrestling veteran has signed with All Elite Wrestling. He also revealed that the former world champion will be making an appearance on Dynamite this coming Wednesday:
Samoa Joe is the longest-reigning world champion in the history of ROH. He was the third world champion of the promotion and he held the title for a record 645 days.
The heavyweight star had been a part of the WWE roster since 2015. He won the NXT title three times during his tenure. Joe was released from his contract in January earlier this year.
AEW President and the new owner of Ring Of Honor Tony Khan had been teasing something big for the Supercard Of Honor event this Friday night.
He had told the audience in attendance to not leave before the show was over and asked everyone to keep watching till the end.
The big surprise Khan had promised turned out to be none other than the Samoan Submission Machine and one of ROH originals, Samoa Joe.
The main event of the show saw Jonathan Gresham defeating Bandido to become the Undisputed ROH World Heavyweight champion.
Another ROH veteran Jay Lethal then made an appearance on the show. He challenged Gresham. Lethal and Sonjay Dutt proceeded to attack the world champion. Lee Moriarty tried to make the save but he got laid out by the pair.
Lethal held both the world title belts high and it looked as if that will be the end of the event. This is when Samoa Joe made his return to the promotion. He got into Lethal\’s face and Joe choked out Sonjay Dutt to end the ppv.
Tony Khan later took on his Twitter to officially announce the former NXT champion\’s signing. He teased Joe\’s appearance for next week\’s episode of Dynamite:
WrestleMania weekend is the largest wrestling gathering of the year. It sees some of the biggest wrestling names coming together for various events, including Bray Wyatt.
The former WWE star, real name Windham Rotunda noted on Instagram that he has arrived in Dallas for his scheduled WrestleCon appearance. He also took the time to answer some fan questions.
Wyatt, who has mostly been away from wrestling since his WWE release last year was asked about returning to the ring. Replying to it, he said that he couldn\’t imagine spending the rest of his life without stepping in the ring again:
“I will always love wrestling. I couldn’t imagine spending the rest of my life without stepping in the ring again and hearing that roar again. I think about it often. Everything has to be in place though. Like I said, timing is everything.”
Bray Wyatt also commented on the origin of the Firefly Funhouse. He claimed that the early Funhouse segments were a story about his life:
“The Firefly Funhouse, at least the early ones, are a story about my life. I told you stories in there that happened live on television and many that you could never know.
It was confessions. They were short, stylized documentaries about my life. That’s why they connected. They weren’t just about wrestling. They were an origin story.\”
Per Wyatt, he hid his struggles and his comeback in the segments because he wanted people to feel when they watched the vignettes. He claimed that he felt every emotion fathomable during the making of them.
Apart from this, Bray Wyatt discussed his health. He said that he has never been healthier both physically and mentally. He claimed that this is a happy time for him.
WrestleMania is usually the PPV where big WWE storylines conclude. For someone like Brock Lesnar, it signals the start of another hiatus until he is needed to pump the ratings again.
Though it appears that things are going to be different this year. We\’re going to see a lot more of The Beast Incarnate than we are used to after the Show Of Shows.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently provided some update on Lesnar. He revealed Brock\’s post Mania PPV schedule.
The WWE champion is expected to work at least two of the next three PPV events post-WrestleMania 38, according to the wrestling journalist.
This includes the WrestleMania: Backlash event scheduled for May 8 from Providence, RI, and the Money In The Bank PPV on July 2 from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Brock Lesnar is currently scheduled to face the Universal champion Roman Reigns. This winner takes all match will main event WrestleMania Sunday.
The former UFC champion\’s PPV appearances would make a lot more sense if he comes out of Sunday\’s event as the dual champion. Though whether or not it actually happens will only be revealed later this week.
