Will Ospreay is not going on his Honeymoon just yet.
The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion made one sacrifice when he chose to get married to longtime partner Alex Windsor earlier this week instead of competing at NJPW’s Osaka-jo Hall event.
He did not miss the latest episode of Dynamite, however. Getting interviewed by Tony Schiavone, Ospreay explained that Windsor has given him the blessing to chase his dream instead of going on their honeymoon:
“Yeah, the wedding was lovely. Thank you so much for any messages that got to me. I do know I’m meant to be on a honeymoon. Look, I’m meant to be on a honeymoon, but you know the wife. The wife said she knows how much this tournament means to me. She said, ‘Stay focused. We can go Hawaii whenever you want. Go chase your dream.’”
Swerve Strickland came out next, and the two had a long back-and-forth with the former AEW Champion telling Ospreay that he has changed.
The segment led to Ospreay taking Swerve down with a punch. Prince Nana then handed his client a chain. Before he could use it, however, the Death Riders came to the aid of their training partner, and Strickland retreated to end the segment.
Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland will be facing each other in the finals of the Owen Hart Cup at Forbidden Door PPV later this month. The winner will get a shot at the AEW World Title at All In: London from Wembley Stadium.
