MJF Announces His Final American Independent Match

MJF says his Beyond Wrestling match this Friday against Bobby Orlando will be his last American independent date for the foreseeable future, as he turns his full attention back to AEW. The reigning AEW World Champion framed the move as a deliberate decision to protect his title reign after a recent loss he insists never should have happened.

Speaking with Undisputed (Justin Barrasso), MJF made the announcement while taking direct aim at the circumstances of his defeat.

“I’m going to announce that this is probably the last American independent match I’m going to have for an extraordinarily long time,” MJF said. “I need to focus on AEW. I took my eyes off the ball for a millisecond, and a dude who is like 145-fucking-pounds soaking wet beat me. That can’t happen. I don’t care that he hit me in the nuts and spammed his finisher on me four times, and Aubrey Edwards, who is a complete liar, made a fast count. But glass half full, I’m now a three-time champion at the age of 30.”

The in-character explanation doubles as fresh heat heading into his next televised assignment. MJF is booked to face RUSH on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

MJF Steps Away From The Indie Circuit

Over the past year, MJF has taken bookings across several independent promotions, including WrestlePro, HOG, Limitless, and CAP. Friday’s bout with Bobby Orlando at Beyond Wrestling is positioned as the cap on that run.

The pivot lines up with his current AEW priorities, with MJF’s first title defence already confirmed after Double or Nothing. His AEW World Championship win gave him the belt he now says demands his undivided focus.

For fans of the indie scene, Friday is the chance to catch MJF on a smaller stage before he locks back in on AEW programming.

AEW Dynamite Match Card for June 3, 2026

Here are the matches and segments announced for tonight’s show:

MJF (c) vs. Rush (AEW World Championship)

MJF makes the first defense of his third AEW World Title reign tonight after reclaiming the belt from Darby Allin at Double or Nothing. Rush earned the shot by confronting the champion last week and brings momentum, having not lost in AEW or ROH since April.

Kevin Knight (c) vs. Mike Bailey (TNT Championship)

Former tag partners settle it with gold on the line. Knight turned on Bailey and ended their team with a brutal attack on Dynamite, and tonight Speedball gets his measure of payback in a title match.

Will Ospreay vs. Mark Davis (Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Semifinal)

Another pair of former friends collide, with a spot in the tournament final at stake. Ospreay advanced past Samoa Joe at Double or Nothing, while Davis eliminated Jack Perry. The history here cuts deep: the last time these two met, Davis beat Ospreay via medical stoppage with a piledriver, so Ospreay is chasing revenge and a step closer to All In London.

Alex Windsor vs. Wild Card (Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament Quarterfinal)

Windsor’s quarterfinal opponent remains unannounced as of Wednesday. The slot opened up after Willow Nightingale was forced out due to injury, and the identity of the wild card is one of the biggest talking points heading into tonight.

Road to AEW Forbidden Door 2026

The Owen Hart Foundation Tournament finals take place at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 28, with the men’s and women’s winners earning AEW World Championship matches at All In London from Wembley Stadium on August 30.

Tonight’s semifinal and quarterfinal results move both brackets one step closer to those finals, making every Owen Cup match a direct path to Wembley.

  • AEW Grand Slam Mexico Returns To Arena Mexico On August 5

AEW Grand Slam Mexico Returns To Arena Mexico On August 5

AEW is heading back to Mexico City. The company announced that AEW Grand Slam: Mexico returns to Arena Mexico on Wednesday, August 5, marking the second straight year the promotion runs a televised special inside CMLL’s home venue.

The event airs live on TBS and streams on HBO Max in the United States, with Fox Sports Mexico carrying it locally. Tickets go on sale Saturday, June 6 at 10 a.m. CST through AEWTix.com and Ticketmaster.com.mx.

AEW’s promotional graphic features world champion MJF alongside lucha libre names Místico, Mascara Dorada, Andrade El Idolo, Thunder Rosa, and Bandido. No matches have been confirmed, and AEW says additional details are coming.

The date itself tells the bigger story. Last year’s inaugural Grand Slam Mexico ran on June 18, but the 2026 edition slides to August, a move tied to the FIFA World Cup occupying Mexican venues through mid-July. That timing plants the show squarely in AEW’s late-summer run toward All In at Wembley Stadium on August 30.

The 2025 special drew a packed Arena Mexico crowd and produced one of the year’s signature moments, with Hangman Page cutting a Spanish promo and a controversial MJF segment in a heated main-event-level encounter. The AEW and CMLL partnership has only deepened since, making the return to the “cathedral of lucha libre” one of the more anticipated entries on the company’s calendar.

  • MJF’s First Title Defence Confirmed After Double or Nothing

MJF’s First Title Defence Confirmed After Double or Nothing

MJF has got his first challenger.

Tonight’s episode of Dynamite saw multiple challengers making a claim at the AEW World Title following Max’s victory at the Double or Nothing PPV. The most notable name on the list was Kevin Knight, who turned heel at the show on Sunday after attacking Darby Allin.

Among all the challengers, it was Rush who earned the first shot at the new champion. The former Don Callis Family member was involved in a fatal four-way match at the show, also featuring Brian Cage, Lio Rush, and Orange Cassidy.

Rocky Romero and Lance Archer interfered in the bout early on. A returning star then took out Orange Cassidy. All the chaos allowed Rush to pin Lio for the victory.

The Mexican star then confronted the World Champion during his celebration segment later in the night. Rush reminded MJF that he came very close to beating him before. After some more back and forth, the Salt of the Earth announced that he will defend his title against the 37-year-old on Dynamite next week.

Next week’s episode of the Wednesday Night show will also feature the quarterfinal of the Women’s Owen Hart Cup involving Alex Windsor. Windsor was originally supposed to face Willow Nightingale at Double or Nothing before the TBS Champion’s injury, and she will now be facing a Wild card entry in the tournament.

  • MJF Wife Reacts to His AEW Double or Nothing Win Against Darby Allin

MJF Wife Reacts to His AEW Double or Nothing Win Against Darby Allin

Alicia Atout, wife of AEW World Champion MJF recently reacted to his win at Double or Nothing.

Atout took to social media to celebrate MJF’s victory at AEW Double or Nothing, where he defeated Darby Allin in a Title vs. Hair match. The win saw MJF capture the AEW World Championship while keeping his hair intact.

Atout posted on X, the morning after the pay-per-view, clearly relieved her husband avoided the barber’s chair. Her reaction highlighted both the title win and the successful defense of MJF’s signature look.

MJF Becomes Three-Time AEW World Champion

MJF defeated Darby Allin in the main event of Double or Nothing in Queens, New York, becoming AEW World Champion for the third time in his career. The Title vs. Hair stipulation meant the loser would have their head shaved, adding extra stakes to an already intense rivalry.

The match featured brutal spots, including Allin hitting a Coffin Drop off scaffolding through a table that left the back of his head busted open. MJF ultimately secured the victory with a top-rope tombstone piledriver, ending Allin’s challenge and keeping his hair.

Immediately after the match, MJF posted his own reaction on Twitter, mocking anyone who thought he would actually lose his hair. He celebrated becoming a three-time world champion at 30 years old and dismissed critics with characteristic brashness.

The victory marks another chapter in MJF’s decorated AEW career and continues his rivalry with Darby Allin. For Atout, the result meant celebrating both a championship win and no trip to the barber.

  • Tony Khan Calls Darby Allin’s AEW Title Reign One Of The Best

Tony Khan Calls Darby Allin’s AEW Title Reign One Of The Best

Tony Khan called Darby Allin’s run as AEW World Champion one of the greatest title reigns in company history, speaking at the Double or Nothing post-show media scrum roughly an hour after that reign came to an end.

Allin lost the AEW World Championship to MJF in the Title vs. Hair main event on Sunday, May 24 at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. The 24-minute match made MJF a three-time AEW World Champion.

Khan was asked about the reign ending and reflected on what Allin has brought to the company. “It’s hard to put into words how much Darby Allin means to this company because nobody would ever ask somebody to put their body on the line,” Khan said. “No boss could ever go to somebody and ask somebody to do the kinds of things Darby Allin does.”

“He’s a very, very special person and he was fantastic as the TNT Champion, he was fantastic teaming with Sting, and he’s been fantastic as the World Champion,” Khan continued. “Everything Darby Allin’s done for us, he’s done his very, very best. He’s done just about everything he’s ever set his mind to in pro wrestling, and I believe it’s one of the greatest title reigns of any kind we’ve ever had in AEW.”

Allin captured the title on the April 15 Spring BreakThru edition of Dynamite, pinning MJF in a little over two minutes in front of a home-state crowd in Everett, Washington. It was his first AEW World Championship in his fourth career attempt at the belt.

The reign lasted close to six weeks, one of the shorter title runs in the championship’s history. Allin filled it with volume instead, defending the title seven times across Dynamite and Collision against opponents that included Konosuke Takeshita, Tommaso Ciampa, Brody King, PAC, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey before MJF took it back at Double or Nothing.

A Bruising End And A New Problem For Allin

The mileage caught up with Allin on Sunday. He passed out in his own Scorpion Deathlock late in the match, and MJF capitalized to win the title and keep his hair.

The night got worse afterward. As Allin lay strapped to a stretcher, TNT Champion Kevin Knight delivered a UFO Splash to him in an apparent heel turn. Khan said he was interested to hear what Knight has to say about the attack.

Khan also noted he had matches planned for this Wednesday’s Dynamite, but could not finalize the show until wrestlers are medically cleared.

  • MJF Wins The AEW World Championship At Double Or Nothing

MJF Wins The AEW World Championship At Double Or Nothing

MJF captured the AEW World Championship at Double Or Nothing on Sunday night, defeating Darby Allin in a hair vs. title match at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.

The match began dramatically when Allin clipped the ropes on an early dive attempt and landed badly on his neck. MJF immediately targeted the injured area throughout the bout.

Key sequences included Allin hitting a stunner off the middle rope, a piledriver from MJF on the ring steps, and MJF’s diving stomp to Allin’s arm. Allin locked in the sharpshooter at one point, as did MJF later in the match, with Allin passing out in the hold before escaping. MJF pulled a cameraman into the path of an Allin dive at ringside. Allin eventually hit a coffin drop off the top of the stage, leaving him bleeding from the back of his head.

The finish came when Allin went for a coffin drop from the top rope, but MJF knocked him down and delivered a tombstone off the middle rope before securing the pinfall with a side takeover.

MJF wins the AEW World Championship for the third time in his career.

  • MJF Aims to Join Cena, Lesnar And Orton at Double Or Nothing

MJF Aims to Join Cena, Lesnar And Orton at Double Or Nothing

MJF aims to make history at AEW Double or Nothing and join the ranks of wrestling icons like John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton and Lou Thesz. The challenger to Darby Allin’s AEW World Championship posted to X on Saturday, listing wrestlers he says became three-time world champions by his current age of 30.

MJF’s list named Lou Thesz, The Rock, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, John Cena, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Kazuchika Okada. He closed the post with another shot at a rival he has spent weeks trying to undermine ahead of Double or Nothing.

“Tomorrow I create history,” MJF wrote. “Legacy is everything. Darby is nothing.”

The message is a callback to a post MJF shared before Worlds End in December 2025, when he ran down a list of nine men who became two-time world champions before 30. He went on to capture the AEW World Title for the second time at that event.

What MJF Has On The Line At Double Or Nothing

Allin defends the AEW World Championship against MJF in a Title vs. Hair match. The champion set the stipulation as the price of granting the rematch, and MJF, who has repeatedly addressed speculation about his hair during the buildup, gets his head shaved bald if he loses.

Victory would hand MJF his third reign as AEW World Champion. He won the title for the second time at Worlds End before Allin dethroned him last month and embarked on a run of defenses across Dynamite and Collision.

The setting adds another layer for the Long Island native. Double or Nothing emanates from Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York on Sunday, putting MJF’s bid for history in front of a hometown crowd.

  • MJF Addresses Hair Transplant Rumors Before Double or Nothing Match

MJF Addresses Hair Transplant Rumors Before Double or Nothing Match

MJF says his hair is very real.

The former AEW Champion would be competing in what is likely the most personal match of his career this Sunday at Double or Nothing. He will be challenging Darby Allin for the World Title, and Max has agreed to put his hair on the line for this bout.

The Salt of The Earth spoke to TV Insider for a new interview recently to promote the PPV. He was asked what the hair means to him, and MJF noted that it is the quality that makes him the golden goose of the company:

“Look, my hair means everything to me. I have broken just about every record in the history of my company. A part of the reason I’m able to sell so many tickets and get so many eyeballs on the product is because of the way I look. MJF should not have even one stray hair come off his head because MJF is the golden goose of All Elite Wrestling.”

My Hair Is Very Real: MJF

MJF then claimed that his hair is his livelihood and AEW’s stock is going to go down dramatically if he loses at the PPV. The 30-year-old also addressed the popular belief that he got hair transplant, saying that it’s an absurd suggestion:

“I can’t think of a worse fate. It’s not going to happen. I don’t even like talking about it quite frankly. I resent people that claim my hair isn’t real. That’s absurd. My hair is very real. Just as real as my Dynamite Diamond ring, my mansion, and as real as my very hot flexible wife.”

The former Champion later gave some praise to his opponent, saying that Darby Allin has been putting on the best matches in all of sports entertainment during his reign. Max explained that he is more of a money guy and the one who sells the tickets, but he can’t pretend that AEW does not have a superior wrestling product to their competitors.

  • MJF Accuses TKO Of Leaking Negative AEW TV Deal Rumors

MJF Accuses TKO Of Leaking Negative AEW TV Deal Rumors

Former AEW World Champion MJF believes TKO is behind online rumors designed to hurt the perception of AEW. The AEW star addressed speculation about the company’s TV future

During a recent interview with CBS Sports’ SHAK Wrestling, MJF said he believes negative stories about AEW’s television negotiations are being intentionally leaked by someone at TKO to make AEW look bad. He specifically referenced recent rumors claiming AEW is struggling to secure a new TV deal.

“TKO, WWE, what have you, their job is to make themselves look great and to make us look bad. So there’s a leak. Oh, ‘AEW is struggling to get a TV deal.’ That’s f—ing news to me, bro,” MJF said.

“Like that’s news to me. That’s news to everybody on the roster. It’s damn sure news to Tony Khan because last time I checked, they’re f—ing over the moon with us right now.”

MJF then pointed to AEW’s strong cable ratings as evidence the rumors are unfounded.

“You know, we do better numbers than f—ing almost everything that’s going on on a weekly basis on cable because right now, as I was saying, the things that draw on cable are news and live sport,” he stated.

MJF Compares WWE and AEW Dynamic to Coke vs. Pepsi

‘The Salt of The Earth’ then used a Coke and Pepsi analogy to illustrate his point about the competitive nature of the wrestling business. He suggested fans should consider the source when evaluating negative stories about AEW.

“I’ve said it once, I’ll say it a million times, Shak, I love Jolly Old Saint Nick (Khan) and I love the tricks he’s pulling out. I f—ing get it. It’s smart, but it doesn’t mean that we can’t use our brains, right?” MJF said.

“It doesn’t mean that we can’t go, ‘Oh, this is being leaked intentionally to hurt the company that is the alternative.’”

“It’d be like if Coke out of the blue was like, ‘Hey, I don’t know if you guys knew about this, but Pepsi has a– water in it.’ Everybody be like, ‘Well, I mean, where is that source coming from? It’s coming from Coke.’ Okay, I’m not really going to give much thought to this, right?” he explained.

MJF is set to challenge Darby Allin in the main event of Double or Nothing for the AEW World title in a Hair vs Title match at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens this Sunday.

  • MJF Thinks Mick Foley Is ‘Fat and Ugly’

MJF Thinks Mick Foley Is ‘Fat and Ugly’

Former AEW World Champion MJF stayed fully in character when asked about the possibility of WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley appearing in AEW. The Long Island native didn’t hold back when addressing the speculation.

Reports suggest that Foley’s WWE Legends contract is set to expire next month. The Hardcore Legend has decided to let the deal lapse after taking issue with WWE’s relationship with President Donald Trump.

Speaking with SNY ahead of Double or Nothing, MJF was asked about recent reports that AEW has expressed interest in working with the WWE Hall of Famer. Rather than snubbing the rumors, MJF took the opportunity to insult Foley.

“I think Mick Foley is fat and he’s ugly,” MJF said. “I think he was the blueprint of what Darby Allin is now, which makes me hate him even more. That’s what I think of Mick Foley.”

MJF faces Darby Allin in the main event of Double or Nothing at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens this Sunday. The match is for Allin’s AEW World Championship, with MJF’s hair also on the line after he agreed to the stipulation to secure the rematch.

Meanwhile, Foley has made appearances for independent promotions including OVW and GCW. It’s possible he could appear in AEW before his WWE deal expires.

  • MJF Says Bret Hart Is ‘Punch Drunk,’ Calls Him One Of The Greatest Wrestlers Of All Time

MJF Says Bret Hart Is ‘Punch Drunk,’ Calls Him One Of The Greatest Wrestlers Of All Time

MJF offered a backhanded tribute to Bret Hart during his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, calling him one of the greatest wrestlers of all time while stating the Hall of Famer may be “punch drunk” from his career-ending concussion suffered at the hands of Goldberg.

“I don’t have a beef with Bret Hart. I cut an incredible promo on Bret Hart in the very first Double or Nothing, which — full circle — Double or Nothing’s happening this Sunday, May 24th. See how fcking good I am? I’ve got no beef. I just think, look man, this dude got rocked by Goldberg to the point where he had to retire. He’s saying crazy s** all the time and 99% of the time it doesn’t make sense. I just think homie’s punch drunk and like, God bless him. He should be. He’s one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.”

MJF did not stop there, using the moment to make a clear declaration about where Hart ranks relative to Shawn Michaels.

“He’s no Shawn Michaels, but he’s one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. I have no reason to pretend Shawn Michaels isn’t better than Bret Hart because he’s like the WWE NXT guy. But I’m just not going to sit here and do that. He was the better talker, he was more athletic in the ring, was the better wrestler, he was more exciting, he drew you in more.”

“Bret was good at a time period where he was able to get away with being this incredible work-rate guy. His promos were good, but they weren’t f****** like ‘WHOA!’ Did you ever go to school and go, ‘Did you hear that Bret Hart promo?’”

MJF challenges Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship at Double Or Nothing this Sunday in a hair vs. title match.

  • MJF Wants Kofi Kingston And Austin Creed In AEW: ‘They Are Both Crazy Talented, Massive Stars’

MJF Wants Kofi Kingston And Austin Creed In AEW: ‘They Are Both Crazy Talented, Massive Stars’

MJF says Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed would be “incredible additions” to the AEW roster and made clear he wants to see them in the promotion as soon as they are legally able to appear.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani ahead of AEW Double Or Nothing, MJF was asked directly about the possibility of New Day coming to AEW.

“Yeah, absolutely. I don’t know what their contract situation is, but whenever they are legally allowed to come over, I think those are guys that would be incredible additions to the AEW roster. They are both crazy talented, massive stars, and guys who know their worth, which to me is the most impressive thing.”

MJF was the first AEW name to publicly react when New Day’s WWE departure was announced on May 2, with several others in the company also making reference to the duo leaving. Kingston and Creed confirmed their WWE exit on May 4 and will be going by Kofi and Austin Creed going forward.

Fightful Select has reported that every AEW source it spoke to about the duo is pushing the company to sign them, including some notable names within the promotion.

  • MJF Says Malakai Black Used AEW As Stepping Stone For WWE Return

MJF Says Malakai Black Used AEW As Stepping Stone For WWE Return

MJF suggests AEW locker room is not a fan of Malakai Black.

The former AEW Champion recently gave a candid interview to Ariel Helwani. He revealed his unfiltered thoughts on matters such as Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels, CM Punk being a piece of shit, and more.

During the talk, the Salt of the Earth also discussed how AEW is on a roll right now with everyone in the locker room trying to put on the best show possible. When asked how they got to this point, MJF noted that they had to weed some people out. Upon being pressed for a name, the 30-year-old said that Malakai Black is the biggest offender who tried to use the company as a stepping to get back to WWE:

“I think it’s pretty obvious that that’s Malakai Black [Aleister Black]. But I don’t know the guy, like, on a personal level. Do I think he’s a bad guy? No.

Do I think he was a mark for, like, wanting to have his, ‘Oh, I need my Mania moment!’ Like, yeah. And there were a couple guys like that. And they got weeded out. And then they went over there and some of them found out the grass isn’t greener. And perhaps some of them did. Some of them, for them, the grass was greener.”

Majority of The Locker Room: MJF

Malakai Black wrestled only 15 singles matches during his 4-year tenure with AEW between 2021 and 2025, with more than half of them coming during his first year with the company. His second WWE run turned out to be a failure as Black was not part of any significant feuds, and he was released from the promotion a day before the one-year anniversary of his return on April 24 this year.

MJF claimed that he is not trying to shit on the former AEW and WWE star. The former champion said that he is just echoing the sentiment of the majority of the locker room:

“But I’d say a majority of the guys that were like, ‘I’m just gonna use All Elite Wrestling to go to WWE’ or to go back to WWE, I think you’re going to see a lot of those guys ask for a 50% pay cut from the office. You’re going to see a lot of those guys just get released.

And it’s unfortunate because if you show up to our company and you work hard, there’s really no need to burn bridges. I’m not sh*tting on him. I’m just simply telling you what I was told by a majority of the locker room about this specific individual.”

The Devil will be challenging Darby Allin for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship in a hair vs. title match at the Double or Nothing PPV this Sunday on May 24.

  • MJF On CM Punk: ‘A Piece Of Sh*t, But A Great Wrestler’

MJF On CM Punk: ‘A Piece Of Sh*t, But A Great Wrestler’

MJF has weighed in on CM Punk’s current WWE run during his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, telling fans that Punk’s professional wrestling ability has never been in dispute, but his read on Punk as a person has not changed.

Punk and MJF had a multi-month feud in AEW before Punk was released from AEW after the All In 2023 backstage altercation with Jack Perry.  Punk returned to WWE at the November 2023 Survivor Series and is currently a top star on Raw, having lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42 before going off TV for what has been reported as a scheduling change.

Asked whether he was surprised by how well Punk has been doing in WWE, MJF said the answer was no but he had not softened his personal read.

“No I’m not surprised at how good he’s doing, doesn’t change the fact he’s a fcking cnt. He just sucks, a bad guy, but he’s an incredible professional wrestler. How many times do I have to repeat myself, he’s a piece of sh*t, but he’s a great wrestler.”

The CM Punk reference in this Helwani interview lands during MJF’s Title vs Hair main event week against Darby Allin at AEW Double or Nothing on Sunday at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Flushing, NY.

  • MJF Praises Tony Khan As ‘One Of The Best Minds In Wrestling’ And ‘Incredible Leader’

MJF Praises Tony Khan As ‘One Of The Best Minds In Wrestling’ And ‘Incredible Leader’

MJF says Tony Khan has evolved into one of the best minds in professional wrestling and an incredible leader, offering praise for the AEW founder ahead of Double Or Nothing this Sunday.

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show to promote AEW Double Or Nothing 2026, MJF opened by addressing Khan’s November 2025 interview with Helwani, which marked a shift in how the AEW president engages with media that has historically been unfavorable to the company.

“No interview is ever going to be as good when I’m not in the room. But for an interview that didn’t have me in it, it was a good watch. And I also think it showed the evolution, frankly, of my boss as an interviewee. I think he faces questions head-on. I think that he took all your questions on the chin and answered them in a very professional manner. I think he continues to be incredibly professional, even when bullsh*t is happening around him and lies are being spread. So, yeah, I’m happy for him.”

MJF kept largely in character throughout the interview but stepped out of it to offer a more sincere assessment of Khan as a leader.

“Do I love the guy? No. But I love money. And I also love seeing my company do well, and we’re white hot right now. Now, is that all because of me? There’s an argument to be made there. But I also am willing to say that Tony Khan — in case you’re unaware, he’s a billionaire — and for him to be a billionaire and to decide to, with his money and his time, when he could be sticking with the futbol thing or the other football thing, he decided to start a professional wrestling company because he’s so passionate about professional wrestling and he loves professional wrestling. And he’s become one of the best minds in wrestling, man. And he’s been a great leader. You can talk all of the sh*t you want about him. Why? I don’t know. Because he gave you an alternative so you wouldn’t only be eating one type of food. You have options now. I don’t know why anybody would be mad about options.”

“I think he’s become an incredible leader too, man. He always was, but I just think he is really, really just — as we all do, we level up, we evolve as we age.”

MJF challenges Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship at Double Or Nothing this Sunday in a hair vs. title match where MJF must shave his head if he loses. It would be his third world title reign if he wins.

  • MJF Makes $500K Offer Ahead of AEW Double or Nothing 2026

MJF Makes $500K Offer Ahead of AEW Double or Nothing 2026

MJF has made a luring offer to former AEW TNT Champion Sammy Guevara.

‘The Salt of The Earth’ took to social media with a direct financial proposition for Sammy Guevara ahead of Guevara’s scheduled match against AEW World Champion Darby Allin. The offer came with a clear price tag and even clearer intentions.

Before this week’s episode of AEW Collision, MJF posted a message aimed squarely at Guevara. The post didn’t mince words about what he wanted.

“Hey shithead, @sammyguevara. If you win the match tonight I’ll give you 500k. Get the job done,” MJF wrote.

The timing of the offer adds another layer to MJF’s ongoing issues with Darby Allin. MJF is currently scheduled to challenge Allin in a Hair vs. Title match at AEW Double or Nothing.

    Darby Allin’s Championship Run

Darby Allin has been one of AEW’s most active world champions since defeating MJF for the title at AEW Dynasty. The champion has already racked up several successful title defenses while maintaining his fighting champion approach to the role.

That puts Sammy Guevara directly in the middle of one of AEW’s biggest rivalries heading into Double or Nothing.

Whether MJF is seriously offering Guevara half a million dollars or simply trying to create chaos before Collision remains unclear.

Darby Allin Reveals Condition For MJF Title Rematch

Darby Allin successfully defended the AEW World Championship against Kevin Knight on this week’s AEW Dynamite, then issued a unique challenge to MJF for a rematch.

Allin put the title on the line in the main event of the Wednesday Night show. He defeated Knight with two Coffin Drop to secure the pinfall victory. The match served as the latest defense in Allin’s championship reign.

As the Dynamite leg of the special 3-hour broadcast ended and Collision started, MJF came out, and once again asked Allin for an AEW World Championship rematch. Friedman offered to put his scarf or the Dynamite Diamond ring on the line, but the champion rejected both proposals.

Allin countered with his own stipulation, demanding that MJF put his hair on the line for another title shot. Darby Allin ended his promo telling MJF to show up to a contract signing on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

MJF appeared visibly stressed by the situation and ran to the back as the segment concluded. The Title vs. Hair match has not yet been officially confirmed.

As per Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez, Woods and Kingston parted ways with WWE after they asked to restructure their current deals with TKO. The pair had been with the company as part of the New Day faction since 2014.

    MJF and Cash Wheeler React

Both AEW stars referenced New Day’s signature catchphrase following the departure.

MJF posted to his Instagram Stories: “It’s a new day…. yes it is.”

Cash Wheeler of FTR posted on X: “Cot damn. It’s a new day. Cot damn.”

The New Day’s History With FTR and The Usos

Wheeler and tag team partner Dax Harwood have clashed with New Day multiple times while both teams were in WWE during 2019. The teams, then known as The Revival, faced off in several six-man tags alongside Randy Orton that year.

In 2019, Big E and Kofi Kingston defeated The Revival to win the SmackDown Tag Team titles. New Day retained the championships against The Revival at the TLC pay-per-view in Minneapolis on December 15, 2019.

Meanwhile, The Usos and The New Day have dominated WWE’s modern tag team division with classic title matches and rivalries.

Woods and Kingston’s departure from WWE marks the end of New Day’s 12-year run with the company.

  • MJF Fires Back at TNA President Carlos Silva

MJF Fires Back at TNA President Carlos Silva

MJF has entered the ongoing AEW and TNA dispute publicly, calling out TNA President Carlos Silva for lying just hours before Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite in Fairfax, Virginia.

The exchange was triggered by Silva’s appearance on Busted Open Radio, where he addressed the backlash over TNA pulling its talent from independent shows that would have featured matches against AEW wrestlers. Silva stated that other parties had previously prevented TNA from running certain venues and arenas, a claim MJF wasted no time addressing on X.

“I think it’s cool that you can just lie. My turn.”

He followed that up with a statement dripping in sarcasm that took simultaneous shots at his upcoming opponent and the current AEW World Champion.

“I think Kevin Knight has a shot at beating me at 8pm sharp and I also think Darby Allin is a GREAT champion.”

The timing of the post, arriving just before the Dynamite broadcast, kept the AEW and TNA tension in the headlines heading into the show.

Backstage News On MJF’s Future After AEW Title Loss

MJF might be taking some time off.

The Salt of the Earth was forced to defend his AEW Title against Darby Allin at tonight’s Dynamite. This came after Allin defeated Andrade to become the new #1 contender for the belt on Dynasty this past Sunday.

The match that main-evented the show was a short one. MJF tried to find an advantage after low-blowing his opponent, but Darby promptly returned the favor and then squashed the two-time AEW Champion with four coffin drops in a row.

MJF Set For Another Movie Role

SEScoops correspondent B. J. Bethel provided an update on MJF’s immediate future after the title loss. He suggested that the now former champion will be taking time off for another movie project and revealed that his schedule has been decided well in advance:

“MJF is expected to be filming at least one movie immediately following his loss to Darby Allin on Dynamite tonight. His name has been on schedules and call sheets for months.”

The 30-year-old seems to be taking his movie career seriously as he filmed roles for Happy Gilmore 2 and Violent Night 2 in 2025.

There is no word on what MJF’s latest project is but we should get an idea soon.

MJF Reacts to AEW Title Loss On Dynamite

    MJF is not happy.

Tonight’s episode of Dynamite saw Darby Allin challenge the AEW World Champion for his title. This came after the former TNT Champion defeated Andrade to become the new #1 contender for the belt at Dynasty.

The Salt of the Earth initially refused to take part in the match, saying that he will sue both Tony Khan and the AEW broadcast partners WBD over it.

    MJF And Others React

In the end, MJF had to get in the ring with Allin. He tried to find an escape by low-blowing Darby after distracting the referee. Darby was ready for the champ’s tricks, however, as he delivered a low blow of his own and then pinned his opponent with not one but four Coffin Drops.

The now former Champion reacted to his loss on X, warning Tony Khan that this will not stand. Ricochet seemed to support MJF’s campaign, saying that he was also screwed out of his National title, while Andrade simply responded with some emojis to the surprise turn of events.

Tonight’s show also featured an unannounced appearance from Sting who hyped up his protege and former tag team partner and celebrated with Darby to close out the show. You can check out more about it here.

  • MJF Chasing Steve Austin & The Rock-Level Fame: ‘That’s My Goal’

MJF Chasing Steve Austin & The Rock-Level Fame: ‘That’s My Goal’

AEW World Champion MJF criticized talents who prioritize crowd reactions over building lasting star power. ‘The Salt of the Earth’ made his views clear during a recent interview.

On The Adam Friedland Show, MJF was asked if other wrestlers prioritize character work and promos as seriously as he does. He gave a stern response, slamming modern wrestling.

“No, these guys are stupid, idiotic, scrawny little [expletive] dorks and the only thing they’re concerned with is hitting cool moves so they get, you know, a round of applause,” MJF said. “It’s not something I can relate to at all.”

Building a Brand Beyond the Ring

MJF then explained that his goals extend far beyond putting on entertaining matches. He highlighted that his focus is on becoming a major star whose name transcends wrestling itself.

“I’m here to be a star. I’m here to make the most money. I’m here to be world champion. I’m here to be a draw. I’m here to start doing big movies, which I’m already starting to do. I’m here to make a name for myself and build my brand up to such a point that I become synonymous with not just All Elite Wrestling but with professional wrestling as a whole.”

The 30-year-old wrestler referenced wrestling legends as his benchmark and noted how past icons became household names even outside the industry.

“So in 20 years from now, you know, someone sitting down and going, ‘Holy [expletive], so you’re a wrestler like MJF.’ Because right now when people say, ‘Oh, you’re a wrestler like The Rock or you’re a wrestler like Stone Cold.’ That’s my goal.”

Whether fans agree with him or not, MJF’s focus on character work, promos, and building a brand outside the ring sets him apart from many of his peers.

He is set to defend his AEW World title against Kenny Omega at AEW Dynasty on April 12.

  • MJF Blasts TNA’s Carlos Silva: “What He Is Doing Is Disgusting”

MJF Blasts TNA’s Carlos Silva: “What He Is Doing Is Disgusting”

AEW World Champion MJF escalated his war of words with TNA President Carlos Silva on Busted Open Radio, calling the executive’s decision to block TNA talent from competing against AEW wrestlers on the independent circuit “disgusting.”

“Let’s talk about TNA and the fact that they are pulling young talent off of shows when they’re barely paying them any money whatso-f*cking-ever and telling them, ‘Hey, you can’t wrestle because there is a guy from another promotion that is wrestling on this show,’” MJF said. “Does that help young talent grow? Does that help young talent become better inside the squared circle?”

“Moreover, does that help young talent put food on their plate and on their table so they can eat? What Carlos Silva is doing is disgusting and if anybody supports him or that company at this point, it is very hard for me to wrap my head around.”

The remarks come one day after TNA’s new policy torpedoed several high-profile indie bookings, including MJF vs. Nic Nemeth at Create-A-Pro’s Monumental Moment show on May 1 and Ricochet vs. Leon Slater at WrestleCon’s Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow on April 16. Per Fightful Select, TNA also blocked a planned MJF vs. Bear Bronson match for GCW in March.

Silva confirmed the pullbacks to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, citing “partner conflicts,” an apparent reference to TNA’s ongoing partnership with WWE. Per PWInsider, TNA’s concern was that its wrestlers could look bad by losing to talent from outside companies on uncontrolled events. Sources close to the situation told Fightful the move appears to be trending toward a full ban on TNA talent facing AEW wrestlers anywhere.

MJF had already taken to social media ahead of Busted Open, calling Silva “actively a dumb motherf***er” and noting that TNA pays its talent “sh*t” while simultaneously cutting off their independent income.

  • MJF Distances AEW from Politically “Right-Leaning” WWE

MJF Distances AEW from Politically “Right-Leaning” WWE

AEW World Champion MJF drew a pointed contrast between the two major wrestling promotions on a recent episode of The Adam Friedland Show, defending the viral “F*** ICE” chant that broke out during his AEW Dynamite match and suggesting WWE has made a political choice he says AEW has not.

“We had a ‘Fuck ICE’ chant,” MJF said. “What’s so cool about that is, in our company, our fans have a voice. And in the other company, a lot of times, when fans curse or when they say something that they don’t want them to say, they just bleep it. They bleep the crowd entirely and they edit it out of the show or they’ll create fake crowd noise of it so you can’t hear the chants.”

MJF then addressed WWE’s political alignment directly:

“I’ll also say, they’ve made a choice to be a little bit more right-leaning. Triple H has done a couple of speeches in the White House. Linda McMahon is in the cabinet. We are not affiliated to any party so anybody can feel comfortable going to our shows.”

The Chant That Started It All

The “F*** ICE” moment occurred on the February 5 episode of AEW Dynamite in Las Vegas, during a World Title Eliminator main event between MJF and Brody King. The crowd erupted with the anti-ICE chant just before the opening bell, with the moment going viral and drawing widespread mainstream coverage.

King had been vocal about his opposition to ICE and the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies, and had partnered with Headlocked Comics on a fundraising effort that raised nearly $59,000 for the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee prior to the show.

    WWE’s Political Ties

MJF’s remarks are rooted in documented connections. Triple H currently serves as vice chair of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition, while Linda McMahon holds a Cabinet position as U.S. Secretary of Education in the Trump administration.

AEW president Tony Khan has publicly stated that he supports his wrestlers expressing themselves, though the company itself has avoided officially aligning with any political party.

MJF makes his next title defense at AEW Dynasty this Sunday against Kenny Omega. He recently spoke about what keeps him in AEW, saying there is “no leash” on him creatively and that he has full freedom to be himself.
