MJF has weighed in on CM Punk’s current WWE run during his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, telling fans that Punk’s professional wrestling ability has never been in dispute, but his read on Punk as a person has not changed.
Punk and MJF had a multi-month feud in AEW before Punk was released from AEW after the All In 2023 backstage altercation with Jack Perry. Punk returned to WWE at the November 2023 Survivor Series and is currently a top star on Raw, having lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42 before going off TV for what has been reported as a scheduling change.
Asked whether he was surprised by how well Punk has been doing in WWE, MJF said the answer was no but he had not softened his personal read.
“No I’m not surprised at how good he’s doing, doesn’t change the fact he’s a fcking cnt. He just sucks, a bad guy, but he’s an incredible professional wrestler. How many times do I have to repeat myself, he’s a piece of sh*t, but he’s a great wrestler.”
The CM Punk reference in this Helwani interview lands during MJF’s Title vs Hair main event week against Darby Allin at AEW Double or Nothing on Sunday at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Flushing, NY.
