Cody Rhodes reveals a unique contract clause.
The American Nightmare recently invited one of his mentors and longtime friends, DDP on his podcast. They talked about things such as how Dusty Rhodes taught DDP how to stay positive, the nWo and more.
While finishing the episode, Cody Rhodes brought up his partnership with Whatley American Vodka. The WWE champion revealed a unique clause in his contract with the alcohol brand, that allows him to honor legends in his own way:
“I did a contract recently; it’s not anything major or life-changing. Our friends at Wheatley, are indeed our friends at Wheatley. I did this contract recently and I put at the end; I just want to select a legend for the TVC portion. I wanted to be able to put someone from our Hall of Fame group, or one of our legends. I’ve come to realize that my only answer for why is that it’s the right thing to do,”
The WWE Quarterback already seems to have picked a legend for this role as set photos last month showed him filming a commercial for the brand with Carmelo Hayes and Hall of Famer ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan.
Cody Rhodes will be defending his WWE Championship in a rematch against Gunther at this Friday’s episode of SmackDown. Things will be a little more complicated for Rhodes this time around, however, as the Ring General has picked Sami Zayn to be the special guest referee for this match.
