  • Swerve Strickland Pays Homage to DC Comics\’ Static At AEW Dynasty

Swerve Strickland dressed to impress at AEW Dynasty with a look that fans of DC Comics will have been excited by. Ahead of his AEW World Championship main event, Strickland wore a black and yellow attire with blue and white details. his entrance that included flashes of lightning showed that the challenger was indeed electrifying in Philadelphia for the pay-per-view.

Swerve\’s attire wasn\’t just to impress the crowd but was inspired by DC Comics character Static. The character, real name Virgil Hawkins, debuted in Icon #1 (May 1993) in a preview and would make his full appearance debut in Static #1 the following month. A metahuman with the ability to control electricity, Static gained major notoriety in the early 2000s when he received his own animated TV show Static Shock.

Strickland\’s gear is the latest connection between AEW and DC Comics, both of which are associated with Warner Bros. Discovery. Recently, the two sides stepped into the ring together to create a series of short stories about wrestlers. These stories blended the real-life journeys with the wrestling characters of Strickland, Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy, Will Ospreay, Britt Baker, and \’Timeless\’ Toni Storm.

Strickland may not have left AEW Dynasty as World Champion but he certainly looked the part of a real-life superhero. It remains to be seen what\’s to come for Strickland after his setback in the show\’s chaotic main event.

  • Swerve Strickland Gives Explosive Message to Booker T After AEW Dynasty

Swerve Strickland didn\’t leave AEW Dynasty as a two-time World Champion but he had an explosive message after the show aimed at WWE\’s Booker T. In a post-show promo, Strickland began by thanking fans for their support as well as those who worked to make the show happen. In his final comments, Swerve took aim at the WWE Hall of Famer/NXT commentator, telling the fans in Philadelphia \”F*** Booker T!\”

Strickland\’s comment is not some out-of-the-blue outburst but the escalation of tensions between the two. During an interview with The Breakfast Club, Strickland echoed the criticism many have had with WWE’s treatment of black wrestlers and a perceived lack of opportunities for many. While many agreed with Swerve, Booker said he hated that people still talk about “this race thing” and said he was treated fairly by WWE for 20 years.

In a response on Vlad TV, Strickland questioned if Vince McMahon using the N-Word in front of Booker was Booker being treated fairly, and brought up Black talent not getting singles matches on PLEs. Booker fired back on his Hall of Fame podcast as he recalled a recent meet-up with Swerve and telling Strickland how disappointed he is for his comments. Booker even went as far as to say that without his efforts for black wrestlers, Strickland may never have gotten into the wrestling business.

Strickland had just three words about Booker after Dynasty, but there’s a ton of context behind them, ending AEW’s latest event in Philadelphia on a shocking note.

  • Young Bucks Return, Cost Swerve Strickland At AEW Dynasty

Swerve Strickland\’s ambitions to become a two-time AEW World Champion went up in smoke at AEW Dynasty, thanks to the returning Young Bucks. In the show\’s main event, Strickland battled Jon Moxley for the title which has been carried around in a briefcase. The show was extra special for Strickland as he won the AEW World Championship at Dynasty 2024 and hoped to repeat this success in 2025.

Strickland and Moxley held nothing back in their match, and when Marina Shafir attempted to interfere, Prince Nana put an end to her efforts. Not only did Shafir not cost Strickland the match, but the AEW World Champion accidentally hit her with a cutter. Later on, the other Death Riders got involved but Hangman Adam Page and the Opps would fight them off.

The finish of the match saw Swerve Strickland set Moxley up for the Swerve Stomp and hit it flush. Then, the lights went out before Swerve could make what would\’ve been the decisive cover. When the lights came back on, the Young Bucks were in the ring and and they hit Swerve with the BTE Trigger. The ref crawled into the ring and made the count to declare Moxley the winner.

The immediate response online to this finish was mixed. While some fans are excited to see the Bucks back, others believe their return ruined the finish. This frustration stems from many fans not liking the Death Riders storyline and believing that Dynasty was the right time and Swerve was the right wrestler to take the gold away from Moxley.

Instead, Moxley\’s reign continues to chug along, thanks once again to outside interference. With the Bucks back, it remains to be seen how Strickland will respond to being screwed out of the richest prize in AEW.

  • Kenny Omega Retains At AEW Dynasty, Confronted By Kazuchika Okada

AEW Dynasty saw the International Title on the line with Kenny Omega defending his title against Speedball Mike Bailey and Ricochet. Despite the odds being against him and the fact that he didn\’t need to be pinned to lose the gold, Omega was able to leave the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

All three men were given a chance to shine, complete with flashy entrances before the match got underway. Eventually, Kenny Omega nailed a One Winged Angel off the top rope on Ricochet. With Speedball hung up in the ropes, Omega was able to get the win to retain the gold.

Ospreay didn\’t have long to celebrate, however, as he was confronted by Kazuchika Okada after the match. Though the pair did not get physical, its clear that a title match between the two will come when the time is right, perhaps at AEW All In: Texas.

Okada\’s confrontation with Omega fuels the speculation that AEW plans on unifying the International and Continental Championships into one title. Whatever comes next, fans can expect magic in the ring when Omega and Okada eventually do battle.

  • Santos Escobar Appears At Todo x Todo Wrestling Event

Santos Escobar is a bonafide name in WWE but the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion recently appeared at a non-WWE wrestling event. The SmackDown Superstar was in attendance for Hijo Del Santo’s Todo x Todo event on April 6, and was spotted sitting next to his father El Fantasma.

Though Escobar didn\’t compete at the event, he did have a role to play. During the show, he was given a gift by Dr. Wagner Jr.

Escobar\’s presence at the show once again demonstrates WWE\’s willingness to let its talent appear outside of their own promotion. Later this month, several WWE Superstars will compete at Josh Barnett\’s Bloodsport XIII, an event run as part of the GCW Collective.

Back on WWE programming, Santos has been growing increasingly frustrated with Humberto and Angel, while Andrade has encouraged the pair to stand up for themselves. All signs are pointing to the duo leaving Escobar, bringing an end to Legado Del Fantasma, to join Andrade in a new faction. Though it remains to be seen when that\’ll happen, Santos Escobar cetainly enjoyed himself out of WWE this past weekend.

  • Adam Cole Marks 17th Anniversay In Wrestling with AEW TNT Title Win

AEW Dynasty 2025 took place at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, featuring a lineup of high-stakes matches. In the AEW TNT Championship match, Daniel Garcia defended against Adam Cole in a match with no time limit and no outside interference.

The match commenced with both competitors cautiously feeling each other out. Garcia gained early control, mounting Cole in the corner to deliver punches. After a series of back-and-forth, Cole executed a Panama Sunrise followed by a Boom Kick, resulting in a near fall. Though Garcia tried a top-rope piledriver, Cole fought him off and ultimately secured the victory.

This marks Cole\’s first reguarly defended singles title in AEW, as he is also an Owen Hart Foundation Tournament winner. The match and victory was even more special as it marked Cole\’s 17th anniversary since his debut in the world of professional wrestling.

Now, it remains to be seen how far the new AEW TNT Champion goes with the gold. Fans will also have to see what\’s to come for Daniel Garcia who had held the title since Full Gear 2024.

  • Mick Foley Grateful for Support After First Post-Crash Public Appearance

Mick Foley has expressed his gratitude to his fans following his first public appearance after his recent car accident. Taking to Instagram, Foley shared his thanks to the fans alongside pictures of some of the fans who met him at the Dallas Vintage Toys event.

Foley took to Instagram earlier this week to share that he had been involved in a serious car accident and that he was dealing with soreness and a minor concussion. His post sparked hundreds of well-wishes from fans and those from within the wrestling industry. In an update, Mick\’s daughter Noelle shared that the WWE Hall of Famer was lucky to be able to walk away from the serious accident.

Foley is no stranger to concussions and faced more than his fair share throughout his wrestling career. Last year, Foley shared that he was cancelling plans to wrestle one final death match after experiencing concussion-like symptoms. The fact that Foley had not done anything to cause these symptoms were an eye-opener showing that a career risking it all for wrestling continues to affect Foley years after his in-ring career ended.

We here at SEScoops are continuing to send our best to Mick Foley at this time. Bang Bang!

  • Mike Rome Clarfies Mark Nash Comments After Cue Cards \’Dig\’

Mark Nash is WWE SmackDown\’s newest announcer and recently, a comment on X by NXT announcer Mike Rome sparked a lot of attention. Rome noticed that Nash was reading off cards during the April 4, edition of WWE SmackDown and questioned when this was introduced.

This comment caught the attention of many fans as well as former Raw announcer Samantha Irvin. After Irvin seemed distraught that she wasn\’t given cue cards for her tenure, Rome pointed out that Nash has been using cards for two weeks now.

Some fans took Rome\’s comments as a dig at Nash who debuted for the blue brand in late March 2025. Feeling it necessary to clarify, Rome wanted to make clear he wasn\’t insulting Nash\’s work. Instead, Rome is merely hoping that he soon gets to have cards in his role with WWE NXT.

Nash himself would comment, appreciating that Rome\’s comments weren\’t meant to be insulting. Rome went on to praise the work of the new SmackDown announcer.

Nash is new to his role with WWE, which may explain why he is using cue cards to help him remember the stats of the Superstars of the blue brand. It remains to be seen if these cards are here to stay as Mike Rome would love to have some cards of his own.

  • Bayley Superfan Izzy Moreno Is Ready for WWE ID Title Gold

During Bayley\’s initial run in WWE NXT, a young fan named Izzy proved to be the most loyal supporter of the Hugger. Now, Izzy is all grown up and is ready to take the WWE ring by storm just like her hero.

On X, Izzy Moreno cut a passionate promo about the WWE ID Championship, vowing she\’s ready to risk it all in the upcoming tournament. Moreno declared that the tournament will be one step closer to her lifelong dream: becoming a WWE Superstar.

Moreno has been making a name for herself in the ring in recent years. In June 2024, Moreno won her first championship, the MPW Championship, a title she holds to this day. Now, Moreno is ready for more gold in her future and believes that the WWE ID Championship will soon be hers.

WWE introduced the WWE ID Men\’s and Women\’s Championships in February 2025 with Chief Content Officer Paul \’Triple H\’ Levesque doing the honors. The tournaments to crown both champions will begin at GCW\’s event on April 16 in the middle of WWE WrestleMania week in Las Vegas. With a historic first up for grabs, Moreno is ready to risk it all, but becoming champion will not be an easy feat of the superfan who aims to become a Superstar.

  • Matt Riddle Goes Back-to-Back, Wins MLW Battle Riot VII

MLW World Heavyweight Champion Matt Riddle proved his Battle Riot 2024 win was no fluke by winning this year\’s massive match. Enntering at number 25, Riddle last eliminated Rob Van Dam, the #40 entrant to win the entire thing. Van Dam\’s critical error came when he went up top for the five-star frog splash, giving Riddle the opportunity to throw him from the ring to win.

This win wasn\’t just a big victory for Riddle but also a historic one. This year\’s Battle Riot marked the first time in history that the MLW World Heavyweight Championship had been on the line in te match. Previously, the match had earned a wrestler a shot at the title. With his victory, Riddle has certainly proved that he deserves to be called the MLW World Heavyweight Champion.

  • Raw Star Hints at Randy Orton WrestleMania Match After Kevin Owens Injury

Kevin Owens is officially out of WrestleMania 41, leaving Randy Orton without an opponent for the Showcase of the Immortals. With Orton being one of WWE\’s biggest stars, many fans expect that he will still compete in Las Vegas and now one Superstar has put their name forward.

On X, some fans have called on Karrion Kross to replace Owens as the Viper\’s opponent. In a post of his own, Kross appreciated the support and said he\’d accept the chance to face Orton. As the decision won\’t be up to him though, Kross ended with a message of \”Let\’s see what happens.\”

Kross has competed just once at WrestleMania as he and AOP lost to The Pride at WrestleMania 40 in a Philadelphia Street Fight. Now, Kross is clearly ready to upgrade from six-man tag-team action to going one-on-one with the 14-time WWE World Champion.

On WWE TV, Kross has been showing interest in AJ Styles\’ feud with Logan Paul and those two will do battle at WrestleMania 41. While Kross himself has yet to have a match confirmed for the show of shows, that could be about to change.

  • Jon Moxley Reflects on Talent Wasting Potential in AEW

Since launching in 2019, AEW has provided more opportuntities for talent to succeed in a major wrestling promotion, though not enough according to Jon Moxley. Speaking to The Knockturnal, Moxley acknowledged that despite their being multiple places for talent to flourish, some talented individual will inevitably \”slip through the cracks.\”

\”It sucks. Not everybody’s gonna make it, right? Everyone does their best to mitigate that and to create as much opportunity for as much success as possible.”

The idea of talent in AEW never seeing their own potential \”keeps me up at night,\” especially when years go by and they don\’t progress in their careers. In the interview, Moxley explained how the issue of people not taking the initiative to advance isn\’t a problem confined to pro wrestling alone.

\”A lot of people in this world now are waiting for everybody else to tell them who they are and what they can do.\”

Moxley knows all about taking the initiative. In 2019, he chose to leave WWE, a high-profile role he\’d been working in for years, to take a chance on AEW. After growing frustrated with his stagnant role in WWE, Moxley has become one of AEW\’s very top stars and is currently in his latest reign as AEW World Champion.

“First, you have to see it, and you have to see everything that you have inside of you and everything that you’re capable of.”

Moxley will defend the AEW World Championship at Dynasty against Swerve Strickland, another man who knows about rising to the occasion. Nevertheless, Moxley remains frustrated that some talent will simply never recognize their true potential in the ring.

  • Backstage Reaction To Charlotte Flair-Tiffany Stratton Heated Promo

Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton stunned fans with their highly personal promo segment during the March 4, edition of WWE SmackDown. During the segment, Stratton poked fun at Flair\’s \”0-3\” record in marriages while Flair suggested that Stratton\’s boyfriend Ludwig Kaiser was in her DMs.

According to Fightful Select, the promo has remained a hot topic backstage—particularly among the women’s division. One source told PW Insider that Flair\’s final comment about Kaiser was “a flailing punch from a boxer who didn’t realize they were KO’d.”

Sources believe that Flair was thrown-off by the fans’ support for Stratton, and appeared to shift her delivery to win back the crowd. But Stratton had already seized the spotlight, capping the segment with a mic-drop moment that stunned both viewers and those backstage.

Charlotte \”didn\’t appear to be pleased\” backstage after the segment, Fightful adds. With that said, one performer said that Tiffany “had to fight back” after Flair had previously dominated one of their earlier promos.

WWE’s post-show response added to the intrigue. Not only were the most controversial lines removed from their official YouTube upload, but Fightful reports that the edits were mandated from higher up as a \”specific directve.\” As WrestleMania 41 looms, it remains to be seen if WWE will harness the controversy from this segment, or move on and act like it never happened.

  • Chris Jericho Says He’d Be Crazy to Rule Out WWE Return

It\’s been close to seven years since Chris Jericho last competed in a WWE ring but that could change one day. Speaking at the Horror, Rock, and Wrestle Fest in Manchester, England, Jericho said he\’d consider a return even if Vince McMahon was still running things.

“I would have considered a return to WWE before things changed. I mean, you’d be crazy not to consider it.\”

Jericho finds it \”amazing\” that their are now two teams he can \’play\’ for after decades of WWE being the only major promotion around. Now with a highly-successful run in AEW to his name, Jericho shared that while he\’s not opposed to returning to WWE, he\’s not clamoring for it either.

\”It just depends on what the situation is and what’s going on with me at the time. We’ll see.\”

Jericho would hardly be the first Superstar to move from WWE to AEW and back to WWE. The biggest success story to date in this transition is Cody Rhodes who is currently nearing one year as Undisputed WWE Champion. CM Punk stunned fans with his return to WWE, mere months after being terminated from AEW in 2023.

More recently, it has been reported that Miro will be returning to WWE while many believes recent teases on SmackDown are for Aleister Black. As for Jericho, the first-ever AEW World Champion, he won\’t count out walking down the entrance as a WWE Superstar once again.

  • WWE Removes Personal Line From Stratton-Flair Repeats

Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton held nothing back on the April 4, edition of WWE SmackDown when the blue brand came to Chicago, IL. It turns out that the pair went too far for WWE\’s liking as some lines from this segment have been cut from the replay. One line cut saw Stratton reference Flair\’s recent divorce.

“When it’s all said and done, you’re going to be just like you are outside of the ring, alone! What is that record, like 0-3?”

Flair fired back, claiming that Stratton\’s boyfriend Ludwig Kaiser had been in her DMs, suggesting infidelity by the German Superstar. On social media, WWE uploaded the segment but kept these highly-personal barbs away.

Sources say that the segment was unscripted, and that these personal barbs kept many fans off-guard. This segment proved that neither woman is willing to pull punches, even if these comments crossed the line for those behind the scenes at this week\’s SmackDown.

Flair and Stratton will battle at WrestleMania 41 with Stratton\’s WWE Women\’s Championship on the line. It remain to be seen if these personal barbs help or hurt the in-ring performance of the pair when they battle in Las Vegas\’ Allegiant Stadium.

  • Giulia Returns to WWE In-Ring Action at NXT Live Event

Giulia is officially back from injury. The Beautiful Madness wrestled at the April 4 NXT live event in Crystal River, Florida—marking her first match since losing the NXT Women’s Championship to Stephanie Vaquer at NXT Roadblock on March 11.

Giulia\’s return to in-ring action follows a noticeable absence and reports that she was injured. Many believed that the reported injury led to WWE hurrying into a title-for-title match with Vaquer, a match thatt should have received a lot more build. Despite reports, WWE never confirmed that Giulia was out with an injury.

    https://twitter.com/wild396190/status/1908324225980535059

The mystery only deepened when Giulia appeared at an NXT live show on March 22 and attacked Cora Jade, suggesting she was still involved in ongoing storylines. It\’s unclear when fans will see Giulia will be back on WWE NXT programming and what will be in store for her when she returns.

Since arriving in WWE in 2024, Giulia has been a tour de force both on-screen and at live events. Her return only demonstrates that it\’s hard to keep the former NXT Women\’s Champion down.

  • John Cena to Make History WrestleMania 41, Win or Lose

John Cena hopes to make history at WrestleMania 41 by becoming a 17-time WWE World Champion at the expense of Cody Rhodes. Whether Cena wins the gold or not, however, the WWE icon will indeed make history.

    • WrestleMania 24: Challenged WWE Champion Randy Orton. Did not win the title.

    • WrestleMania 29: Challenged WWE Champion The Rock. Won the title.
    • WrestleMania 31: Challenged United States Champion Rusev. Won the title.
    • WrestleMania 39: Challenged United States Champion Austin Theory. Did not win the title.
    • WrestleMania 40: Will Challenge Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

H/T to @WWEStats for uncovering this stat. Stay tuned to SEScoops for more interesting wrestling facts and statistics.

Cena boasts a 6-4 win/loss record when it comes to challenging for titles at WrestleMania and the 16-time World Champion would like to make it 7-4. With the Undisputed WWE Title and the very soul of WWE at stake, expect both the champion and the challenger to hold nothing back when they collide inside Las Vegas\’ Allegiant Stadium.

  • Cody Rhodes Talks Naked Gun Role, Working With Liam Neeson

Cody Rhodes has been cast in the upcoming Naked Gun reboot, but fans will have to keep a watchful eye out for the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion. Speaking to Pardon My Take, Rhodes admitted that his role is a relatively small one in the project.

\”I had a little cameo. I feel a little weird because they keep promoting me. You know what? I’m happy that they’re promoting me.\”

The film, inspired to the comedy classics that featured Leslie Nielsen, will feature Liam Neeson. Though best known for action and gritty roles, Neeson will play Frank Drebin Jr., the son of Nielsen\’s character. Rhodes, a self-professed diehard \”Star Wars fan,\” was honored to work alongisde Qui-Gon Jinn himself.

\”Qui-Gon Jinn, man!… But he was the coolest guy. He was. And the way he was doing every scene, he’d take it a little differently. It was just cool to chop it up with him.\”

While Rhodes may not be in a leading role, this is the American Nightmare\’s latest major step into the world of acting. Rhodes previously played the villainous meta-human Derek Sampson as part of CW\’s Arrow. Back in 2010, he also guest-starred on Warehouse 13 as Kurt Smoller, a romantic interest for the show’s lead character Myka. The episode takes a twist when Myka and her partner Pete switch bodies due to a magical idol, leading to Pete-in-Myka awkwardly finishing the date.

Directed by Akiva Schaffer, Naked Gun is set to release on August 1, 2025 with an all-star cast including Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, and Kevin Durand. As fans wait to see what Rhodes does on-screen with Neeson and co, the Undisputed WWE Champion is proving his talents extend past the squared circle.

  • WWE Stars Back PLE In India As Netflix Deal Grows

WWE President Nick Khan recently shared that a Premium Live Event in India is a goal as Netflix see the sub-continent as a massive priority. Speaking to Khel Now alongside Dominik Mysterio, Women\’s Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan shared her support for an Indian Premium Live Event.

\”We hope so. I think that would be iconic and a lot of fun to do. We\’d love to do a show over here but unfortunately we don\’t make those decisions.\”

WWE has hosted several live events in India, the first of being in February 1996 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. In 2023, WWE hosted its biggest India-based event, the Superstar Spectacle, though the event was not televised. Living up to its name, fans received a spectacle, a rare match from John Cena who teamed with Seth Rollins to defeat Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.

The idea of a WWE PLE in India further demonstrates the promotion embracing the first W in its name. In recent years, fans have seen PLEs in England, Scotland, Wales, Australia, Germany, and France. WWE CCO Paul \’Triple H\’ Levesque also shared that WWE will return to the UK relatively soon for a PLE.

As for Morgan and Dominik, they aim to continue proving to be two of the best in WWE both on weekly TV and at PLEs. Whether it\’s in the U.S., India, or somewhere else, Morgan is always ready to prove herself in the ring.

  • Liv Morgan: I Am The Best & My Best Is Yet to Come

During a recent episode of WWE Raw, Wade Barrett praised Liv Morgan, calling the Women\’s Tag Team Champion one of the best competing today. While flattered by the praise, Morgan made clear to Khel Now that she is in a league of her own.

\”I am the best, not one of the best. I’m glad that I’m finally getting the kudos, the respect, the adoration, the admiration, and the flowers that I deserve.\”

Over the past year, Morgan has gone from popular underdog to commanding presence atop WWE’s women’s division. 2024 saw Morgan hold the Women\’s World Championship for the majority of the year and become the first-ever Women\’s Crown Jewel Champion. Now one half of the Women\’s Tag Team Champion, Morgan is pleased with how far she\’s come and how far she plans on going.

\”This is the best year of my wrestling career so far. The best version of Liv Morgan that you’ve seen so far. But the best is still yet to come.\”

Fans can expect Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez to walk into WrestleMania 41 as champions though who they\’ll defend against next remains a mystery. Whether it be the teased team of Maxxine Dupri and Natalya or NXT\’s Meta-Four girls, Morgan and Rodriguez are ready to take on all-comers.

In a women’s division that has never been more competitive, Morgan’s rise isn’t just a personal triumph—it’s a shift in the hierarchy.

  • Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio Ready for \”Dream Match\” Against CM Punk and AJ Lee

Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio have proven to be quite the duo in WWE and now are eager to take on another wrestling power couple. Speaking to Khel Now, the Judgment Day members were asked about dream matches and Liv had an immediate answer.

\”It is Dominik and I versus CM Punk and AJ Lee… that would be fire… so good.\”

Punk and Mysterio already have history as \’Dirty Dom\’ was CM Punk\’s first opponent back in WWE following his 2023 return. While AJ and Liv have yet to share the ring, the reigning Women\’s Tag Team Champion hopes to change that very soon. While the wrestling world recently reached ten years since AJ\’s most recent match on the post-WrestleMania 31 Raw, Liv is among those hoping a return is coming.

Liv and Dominik plan on dominating both in and out of the ring. With WWE now on Netflix, Morgan argued that it\’s time she and Dominik receive the spotlight on the streaming juggernaut.

\”If Netflix was smart they\’d put us in all their romcoms… because Dominic and I are the most dominant, the hottest, the most iconic, the most powerful, the most sought-after, the most watched, the most hated and the most envied couple in WWE history.\”

While the pair are regularly on Netflix as part of WWE Raw, the duo have yet to get their own show. Nevertheless, Morgan has big plans for a Netflix spotlight, and her dream mixed-tag-match, in the future.

  • The Undertaker/Shawn Michaels Share Anger Over WrestleMania 25 Placement

At WWE WrestleMania 25 in 2009, The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels put on an instant classic in Houston, Texas, one that\’d see the Phenom extend his streak to 17-0. Many fans believe the match should\’ve headlined the night instead of coming third-to-last, but the iconic bout almost had an even worse spot on the card.

In a YouTube video shared by WWE, Michaels and the Deadman sat down to recall their iconic bout. Michaels revealed that the pair were actually supposed to be the third match of the night, a spot neither man was happy to be in.

\”We looked at each other. I think you sat back like \’Now it\’s f***ing real, or something. It was a very stern remark.\”

The Undertaker confirmed that the pair were originally going to go on third and that both men were unhappy. After decades of work between the two given loyally to WWE, having such an early spot on the card felt like a slap in the face to The Undertaker.

\”There was eye contact between us and we\’re like \’Are you kidding me?\’… That\’s how you think of us, really? Now we\’re pissed.\”

After word got back to higher-ups about this reaction, the match was moved to be closer to the main event spot. The third match of the televised card would instead go to Chris Jericho\’s handicap match victory over Ricky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, and Jimmy Snuka. Jericho\’s victory would be short-lived as he\’d be knocked out by actor Mickey Rourke.

Over 15 years later, countless fans believe that The Undertaker Vs. Shawn Michaels should\’ve headlined WrestleMania 25. WWE saw sense and gave the pair the main event the following year, knowing that such a massive match could only happen late into the show.

  • Dean Muhtadi On Paragon Talent Agency\’s Journey and Post-WWE Success

Dean Muhtadi, fka Mojo Rawley in WWE, recently spoke with SHAK Wrestling about a variety of topics including his Paragon Talent Group agency. Muhtadi explained that the talent agency, that includes names such as Nic Nemeth, Mandy Rose, Miro, Nia Jax, and more, has been on his mind for a very long time.

\”Somewhere about halfway through my pro wrestling career, I mean this one has been in my back pocket for a really long time… the day after I was done with WWE, I started this company.\”

Muhtadi\’s time with WWE came to an end in 2021 and the former 24/7 Champion has hit the ground running ever since. Not only is Paragon proving to be a winner, but it\’s making the former Superstar a wealthy man.

\”On a personal level I think it took me three maybe four months before I made more money than in my best year with WWE.\”

Paragon Talent Group handles a variety of matters for talent including long-term contracts with promotions as well as indpendent bookings. Autograph signings and third-party brand deals are also arranged by the agency while for wrestlers taking their skills overseas, Paragon also handles visas.

\”I was hearing all these horror stories from other talent that had signed their deals and you know at the time they didn\’t even know they were bad deals they didn\’t know how much money and opportunity was left on the table.\”

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXsYUK1iCP4

For Muhtadi, the most valuable thing Paragon offers is freedom. While talent signed to a restrictive contract with a major promotion may have limited say over their brand, Rawley is able to help talent \”monetize your own brand\” with his skills and expertise. And for himself, Paragon isn\’t just making him rich, but showing a new side to the Hype Bros. alum.

\”I feel like I\’ve kind of started to get back to the real me… in WWE you know people get lost in their gimmicks all the time.\”

The new show, based on the hit Manga series, has another connection to pro-wrestling outside of Omega\’s involvement. The show\’s theme song is Limp Bizkit\’s \’Rollin,\’ a track instantly recognizable to wrestling fans as the theme of The Undertaker during his tenure as the motorcyle-riding \’American Badass.\’

Omega\’s role in the show is just the next step in his Devil May Cry fandom. The AEW star has often taken inspiration from the manga series and the show\’s protagonist brothers Dante and Vergil. Following his AEW International Championship win, Omega celebrated with Adi Shankar, the creator, showrunner, and story writer of the new Netflix series.

In AEW, Omega is in his first reign as International Champion and will defend against Ricochet and \’Speedball\’ Mike Bailey at Dynasty. Though the odds aren\’t in the favor of Omega, a giant sword straight from Devil May Cry could prove vastly beneficial to the reigning champion.

  • Shawn Michaels Reveals WWE Recruits\’ Favorite Match to Study

Shawn Michaels currently serves as head of WWE NXT, tutoring young talent who hope to become the next top star in pro wrestling. In a recent video shared on WWE\’s YouTube channel, Michaels shared that the one match above all others recruits want to watch is his WrestleMania 25 instant classic against The Undertaker.

\”When I first came here to coach, the class wanted to watch it. I think I\’ve mentioned to you [The Undertaker] before. At the end of this, I was just quiet and they all looked at me. [I was] trying to explain to them all of the real-life emotion.\”

Michaels said that it was after watching the match that the young wrestlers grasped that he and the Phenom think about wrestling psychology \”to a different level.\” Michaels suggested that appreciating the match as a talent in WWE was a much different experience to when the recruits watched the match as fans.

\”I don\’t think when they were fans as watching it, they felt like you and I could be that deep.\”

The Undertaker would win the match, extending his WrestleMania record to 17-0. That December, Michaels would throw out the challenge for a rematch for WrestleMania 26. Once again, the Phenom got the win, not only going 18-0 at the Showcase of the Immortals, but bringing an end to Michaels\’ legendary career.

Now, both men are retired and have respective roles in nurturing the talent of tomorrow. And with decades of matches between the two, the young recruits of WWE are wise to learn from this match and many others.
