  • WWE ID to Crown New Women’s Champion After Kylie Rae’s Exit

The next WWE ID Women\’s Champion will be crowned later this month after the former champion Kylie Rae was forced to vacate the gold. On X, the WWE ID account confirmed that the new champion will officially be crowned on November 17 at the Wrestling Open Rhode Island event at Rhodes On Pawtuxet in Cranston, RI.

Whoever wins the WWE ID Women\’s Championship will be ID\’d, meaning they will gain access to all resources WWE provides for its WWE ID talent. With more than a championship to win, wrestlers will no-doubt give their all to emerge on top.

Kylie Rae was the inaugural WWE ID Women\’s Champion and won the gold over SummerSlam weekend. She later vacated the title due to her ongoing pregnancy. Rae recently confirmed that her WWE ID contract would not be renewed, officially ending her run with the company.

Rae isn\’t the only notable name who is no longer part of the WWE ID program. Zayda Steel had been one of the top women in the program and had been in the match in August to crown the first WWE ID Women\’s Champion. She has since confirmed that her time with WWE ID has also come to an end.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on WWE ID as the program will soon have its next Women\’s Champion.

  • Becky Lynch Grateful To SHIMMER As Women\’s Promotion Turns 20

WWE Women\’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch has shared her gratitude to the SHIMMER promotion on the 20-year anniversary of the company\’s debut. Taking to Instagram, Lynch reflected on her time wrestling for SHIMMER and celebrated the company that launched on November 6, 2005.

Happy 20th anniversary Shimmer. A very special company and a special time in my life. They gave this punk teenage gal a chance and a platform and I’ll always be grateful.

Lynch wrestled four times for SHIMMER, at the company\’s 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th events, all of which took place in 2006. These matches, which saw Lynch wrestle as Rebecca Knox, were some of the first matches the WWE Superstar had in the U.S. Three of Lynch\’s matches for SHIMMER were the longest matches of their respective cards, while Lynch would headline SHIMMER\’s fourth event in February 2006.

Becky Lynch isn\’t the only notable name to have competed for SHIMMER. Other notable alumni include Asuka, Dakota Kai, Ruby Soho, Athena, Saraya, and Awesome Kong.

SHIMMER hasn\’t hosted an event since late 2021, and it appears that the promotion\’s doors are closed for good. Nevertheless, Becky Lynch will always have a soft spot for SHIMMER and all the good the promotion did for her.

  • NWA National Champion Mike Mondo Reacts To New AEW Title

The newly introduced AEW National Championship is off to a rocky start, with multiple examples of criticism aimed at the new title. Now, the NWA National Champion Mike Mondo has shared his take on the gold with a scathing post on X.

Mondo isn\’t the only NWA star arguing that AEW is copying the NWA with their new title. Bryan Idol recently branded AEW and Tony Khan \”pathetic\” for introducing their own National Championship given that the NWA already uses that name. When Idol said that Mondo could outwrestle any \”pretend champion,\” the NWA National Champion agreed.

Mondo, who wrestled as The Spirit Squad\’s Mikey in the early 2000s, made his NWA debut in January of this year. He captured the NWA National Title from Mims the NWA 77th Anniversary Show in August of this year.

The first-ever AEW National Champion will be crowned at Full Gear and Tony Khan has teased that the title will be defended in other promotions. With the title receiving a frosty reception from the NWA roster, it may be a long time before we see the AEW gold defended in an NWA ring.

  • NWA Star Slams \’Lame\’ AEW Over New National Title: \’Pathetic!\’

AEW has announced its newest championship, the AEW National Championship, with the inaugural champion set to be crowned at AEW Full Gear. This is the latest title to come to Tony Khan\’s promotion, but the title is already facing criticism.

Taking to Facebook, NWA wrestler Bryan Idol slammed the title, pointing out that the NWA already has a National Champion in Mike Mondo. Idol went as far as to say that AEW was \’lame\’ for trying to, in his view, piggyback off the established NWA gold.

\”This is the lamest thing in the history of wrestling. AEW and Tony Khan are trying to use the NWA National Championship as one of their belts and pretending as if we don\’t currently have the originator and original champion Austin Idol and the current national champion Mike Mondo on the active NWA roster!\”

Idol wasn\’t finished there, as he claimed that the AEW National Title is retaliation for the NWA allegedly having the upper hand on the AEW in a current legal dispute. Idol slammed Tony Khan as a \’Money Mark\’ and summed up his views on AEW\’s plans and the company\’s President by calling them \”Pathetic!\”

\”This is retaliation for AEW already currently losing a lawsuit to NWA over the use of intellectual property, so now they are trying to stir the pot by having Tony Khan\’s Ricthe Rich announce this tonight. Khan, it\’s bad enough you are clearly a money mark who bought his way into the business, but even worse that you would blatantly try to steal the legacy of another existing company because you perceive it to be something you can buy your way out of in court! Pathetic!\”

Despite Idol\’s objections, the first-ever AEW National Champion will be crowned at Full Gear on November 22, in a Casino Gauntlet Match. This match is part of a growing card that will also see the AEW World, Women\’s World, and World Tag Team Championships on the line.

Tony Khan has confirmed that the title will be defended across multiple promotions, including Ring of Honor (ROH) and NJPW Strong. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on the brand-new AEW National Championship.

  • WWE Drops John Cena-Edge Timeline Video Amid Final Match Speculation

John Cena\’s final match will come on December 13 at WWE Saturday Night\’s Main Event, and the wrestling world is waiting to see who his final opponent will be. One name popular among fans is Adam \’Edge\’ Copeland, and now WWE may have given a tease about this potential match-up.

On the official WWE Vault YouTube channel, a video was shared recently chronicling the Story of John Cena Vs. Edge from 2002 to 2010. The 109-minute video includes some of the biggest moments from the careers of both men, including the pair\’s final match from the September 27, 2010, episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.

The timing of this video did not go unnoticed by fans, many of whom speculated in the comments that this video was a nod to John\’s impending retirement. One commenters asked WWE to \”now make edge cena’s final opponent pls and thanks\” while another questioned \”why is this being posted now.\” Others weren\’t convinced and accused WWE of \’trolling\’ fans by building speculation of Edge Vs. John Cena.

Edge is considered by many to be Cena\’s greatest rival and was responsible for John\’s first of 17 WWE World Title reigns coming to an end in January 2006. The pair feuded several times over championship gold, including facing off at WrestleMania 25 in 2009.

The obvious issue with Edge being John\’s final opponent is that Adam Copeland is signed to AEW and has been with the company for several years. While Cena himself has teased that talent who don\’t compete for WWE may be part of the tournament, there\’s been no word from WWE or AEW about Edge making a return.

The John Cena opponent tournament will kick off on the November 10, Raw with Sheamus Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev Vs. Damian Priest. While this tournament already has past rivals of Cena involved, it remains to be seen if Edge will be among those in action.

Ludwig Kaiser has reminded fans of the importance of what they say on social media as rumors circulate about his dating life. Taking to his Instagram Stories, the German Superstar shared a message about the power of what is said on social media.

    https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2025/11/\"https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2025/11/\"

Kaiser did not state if this post was in response to something in particular. In recent days, there have been rumors and speculation that the German has split from Tiffany Stratton and is rumored to be dating WWE ambassador Andrea Bazarte. The pair were recently seen holding hands and dancing at a Monterrey vs. Tigres soccer match at the Clásico Regio while Kaiser was portraying El Grande Americano.

While many fans now believe Kaiser and Stratton have split, neither side has spoken publicly about the rumored break up. In February of this year, Kaiser said he wasn\’t sure if he and Stratton would ever be paired on TV, but said he and the \’Buff Barbie\’ could do some \”great stuff\” together on programming.

This is an ongoing situation and fans should wait for Kaiser or Stratton to speak publicly before jumping to conclusions. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest.

  • Mercedes Moné Eyes 13th Title Reign In House of Glory Return

Mercedes Moné already holds 12 championship titles, an all-time record in pro wrestling, but The CEO isn\’t finished yet. In a statement to Fightful, House of Glory Wrestling confirmed that Moné will challenge Nor ‘Phoenix’ Diana for the APAC Women’s Championship at HOG Superclash.

For Moné, this is her shot to add a 13th championship title reign to her collection. While Moné has proven that she can win gold, Diana will not be an easy win. The current APAC Women’s Champion has held the title for over 750 days.

This will be Moné\’s second time competing for House of Glory Wrestling. In March of this year, Moné debuted at the City of Dreams event where she defeated fellow WWE alum Indi Hartwell.

The Malaysia-based APAC Women\’s Championship isn\’t the only title on Moné\’s radar. Currently, she is part of the tournament to crown the first-ever AEW Women\’s Tag Team Champions. The CEO has also set her sights on the AEW Women\’s World Title once more. The current champion is Kris Statlander, who is eager to take on the reigning TBS Champion.

Whether Moné\’s wins these 13th, 14th, and 15th titles, time will tell. House of Glory Superclash will take place on November 15, from the Suffolk Credit Union Arena in Brentwood, New York.

  • John Cena Makes Appearance At The Dungeon 2.0 Training Class

Students at the Hart Dungeon 2.0 were able to learn from one of wrestling\’s all-time greats when John Cena recently made a surprise visit. On social media, Natalya, who runs the Dungeon 2.0 alongside her husband, TJ \’Tyson Kidd\’ Wilson, shared her gratitude to the 17-time WWE World Champion.

“Thank you, @JohnCena. The most valuable gift anyone can give is their time — and you’ve never stopped giving it to others. You continue to set the standard for what it means to lead, inspire, and give back. The time you shared with us in The Dungeon will stay with us forever.”

Cena\’s appearance at the Dungeon 2.0 comes off the heels of a recent visit to WWE\’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. John’s appearance saw him give advice about the wrestling business, according to Izzi Dame.

As one of wrestling\’s biggest stars, these young wrestlers would be wise to take any advice from John Cena on board. John\’s willingness to help advise younger talent also demonstrates that he is open to roles in wrestling beyond his own in-ring career. It wasn\’t just young rookies who learned from Cena at the Dungeon 2.0 as notable names including B-Fab, Maxxine Dupri, Leigh Laurel, and WWE U.S. Champion Ilja Dragunov were in attendance.

John’s in-ring career will end this December at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Despite rumors and speculation, John has vowed that this will indeed be his last match and that fans shouldn’t expect any in-ring surprises after the show. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on John Cena as the \’Last Time\’ is indeed now.

  • Update On IYO SKY Amid Ongoing WWE Programming Hiatus

IYO SKY hasn\’t appeared on WWE programming in close to a month, leaving fans wondering what\’s happening with the \’Genius of the Sky.\’ Now, SKY has explained where she\’s been during her break from TV, and it thankfully, it isn\’t due to an injury.

On Instagram, SKY shared that she has been enjoying \”my brief Tokyo life.\” SKY shared some photos of her time on Cat Street in the Harajuku district, an area famed for being a hub for street fashion, trendy boutiques, and vintage clothing stores.

SKY\’s most recent appearance on WWE programming came at WWE Crown Jewel: Perth on October 11, where she and Rhea Ripley defeated Asuka and Kairi Sane. More recently, SKY returned to Marigold to defeat Mayu Iwatani and has teased having more matches in Japan.

  • NJPW Champion To Miss Multiple Events Due To AEW Injury

An injury suffered during a match for AEW will keep Tomohiro Ishii out of action and force the veteran to miss events for New Japan Pro Wrestling. A statement from New Japan confirmed that Ishii suffered a dislocated shoulder while appearing at an AEW event in October. At this time, it is not known publicly when he will return to action.

\”On October 22, at an AEW event in San Antonio, Texas, Tomohiro Ishii sustained a dislocated right shoulder.

\”As a result, Ishii will miss action on forthcoming events, with his return to be determined.

\”We apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Ishii wrestle, and appreciate your understanding. NJPW joins fans in wishing Ishii a full and fast recovery.\”

This is certainly a blow for New Japan, where Ishii is the reigning NJPW Strong Openweight Champion. In NJPW, Ishii is also a six-time Openweight Champion, two-time IWGP Tag Team Champion and three-time NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Champion.

With Ishii on the shelf, AEW is missing yet another notable name from its roster. In addition to Ishii, the company is missing Kota Ibushi, who is recovering from a fractured femur suffered during the AEW Collision: Homecoming episode. Other notable names out of action due to injuries and recoveries include Will Ospreay, Buddy Matthews, Jay White, and Adam Cole.

Ishii lost to PAC during the match in which he suffered his injury, and fans will just have to wait and see when he returns. We here at SEScoops are sending our best to the 49-year-old and wishing him a speedy recovery.

  • MVP Highlights Character Work Over \’Flips\’ With Legends Comparison

MVP has argued that character work is what draws fans into pro wrestling, arguably more so than acrobatic ability from in-ring talent. Speaking recently on The Marking Out Show, the AEW performer made his point by bringing up the iconic career of WWE Hall of Famer \’Stone Cold\’ Steve Austin.

\”Stone Cold Steve Austin drew more money than anybody. How many flips did he do? What did he do off the top rope? He kicked and punched his way to infamy.\”

Austin wasn\’t the only name MVP brought up to make his point clear. The former WWE United States Champion argued that some of wrestling\’s very top stars reached the top of the business, all without needing to go to the top turnbuckle.

\”Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, The Rock, John Cena, all of these guys, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton. These are your biggest money earners. They don\’t do a lot. Their character work, that\’s what draws you in.\”

MVP\’s comments are the latest in a long debate about the most important aspect of a pro wrestler. While it takes many skills for a wrestler to achieve success, discussions rage on about whether character or wrestling ability are the most vital component of making a successful pro wrestler.

MVP\’s own talents have seen him succeed in various promotions, including WWE, NJPW, and most recently, AEW. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on MVP and his own character work in Tony Khan\’s promotion.

  • Adam Pearce Celebrates 30 Years in Wrestling: ‘Here’s to 30 More’

WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce is looking forward to many more years to come after reaching a major wrestling milestone. On X, Pearce shared that today, November 5, 2025, marks 30 years since he started his journey as a pro wrestler. Pearce reflected on what the wrestling business has given him and signed off with an exciting rally for the next 30 years.

Pearce wrestled for several years before becoming WWE Raw General Manager, including wrestling for the WWF as enhancement talent in the late 1990s. In the ring, Pearce is perhaps best known for his tenure in the NWA, where he held the company\’s World Heavyweight Championship five times. Pearce is also a former PWG World Champion, NWA Hall of Famer, and has held several other titles in other promotions.

Pearce returned to WWE in December 2013 as a guest coach and the following year became the first unsigned Independent Contractor to produce live WWE programming. In 2015, Pearce signed with WWE as a trainer and producer, and became an on-screen authority figure in 2020, a role he remains in to this day.

With his decades of experience, Pearce is a valuable member of WWE both on and off-screen. And judging by his comments, fans can expect plenty more of Adam Pearce in the years and decades to come.

  • WWE Producer Pokes Fun At Claim CM Punk Segment Went Long

The November 3, edition of WWE Monday Night Raw kicked off with new World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, who spoke at length about his title win. It has been reported that the segment went long and left those backstage \’scrambling,\’ though one WWE producer has now fired back.

The claim that those backstage were left scrambling after the initial segment went long was first shared by Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio. On X, Shane \’Hurricane\’ Helms poked fun at the claim with a graphic description of what the backstage atmosphere was like.

Helms\’ comment earned several responses. One fan alluded to the backstage are being like a \’Hurricane,\’ a nod to Helms\’ in-ring career. In response, Helms shared a gif of himself being Pedigree\’d by Triple H, seemingly joking that this was how WWE\’s Chief Content Officer was backstage.

It was in January 2019 that it was announced that Helms would be returning to WWE as a backstage producer. In March 2022, it was revealed that he had signed a Legends deal with WWE.

Whether Punk went long or not, the claim that those backstage were left \’scrambling\’ may have been stretched, judging by Helms\’ response. Punk certainly had plenty to say after his World Heavyweight Title win, and fans are excited to see where he goes from here.

  • Ethan Page & Chelsea Green ‘Creamed On’ In NXT Celebration Gone Wrong

The November 4, episode of WWE NXT didn\’t turn out well for Ethan Page and Chelsea Green, who had hoped to celebrate their recent win. At AAA Day of the Dead, the duo won the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships, ending the nearly year-long reign of Mr. Iguana and La Hiedra.

On WWE NXT, the pair, alongside Alba Fyre, had a huge celebration planned, which included a large cake in the ring. The festivities were cut short when Joe Hendry arrived and teased a female partner, who turned out to be Thea Hail. The Chase U alum covered the new champions in cream. Hail and Hendry then took the fight to the champs and Fyre, and ended the segment standing tall.

Backstage, Green and Page were outraged. Using some choice language, Green shared that she had never experienced anything like this in all her life.

\”Disgusting! Disgusting behavior! We were disrespected in Monterrey and we were disrespected tonight! I have never been creamed on like this before!\”

Page made clear that he hasn\’t been \’creamed on\’ like this before either. The double champion, who could soon hold three titles, added that \”I wanted to cut the cake and eat it with a fork!\” before sharing that this situation is \”B.S!\”

Page and Green weren\’t happy to see Hail and Hendry, but the two teams will collide once again very soon. A match for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships has been confirmed for the upcoming two-week NXT Gold Rush event. After being embarrassed and \’creamed on,\’ Green and Page will have to hope Hendry and Hail don\’t stand tall once more when the gold is on the line.

WWE NXT Gold Rush will air from the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York on November 18 and 25, 2025.

Cranton was eager to show off his good looks on X, as they have helped the new WWE signing make a name for himself. In December 2024, Cranson represented England at that year\’s Mister International event in Bangkok, Thailand.

When not wrestling and not appearing in tournaments, Cranton has worked on his family\’s farm. Speaking to Metro, Cranton compared his time in the ring to his time in the field.

\”Both takes a lot of hard work, determination and grit and I think everything I have learned through farming and wrestling lends itself perfectly to the world of pageants.’\”

With his background in farming, Angel\’s comments about being a shepherd seems apt. Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on his journey in WWE.

\”For now, nothing\’s been decided after Marigold. But Mayor said she wants to wrestle me again and there are others in Japan who\’s said the same, that they\’d like to face me too. So if the timing works out, I\’m sure I\’ll be back wrestling in Japan again.\”

SKY\’s victory over Iwatani in October 2025 marked her second time competing for Margiold, with both matches coming during her time as a WWE Superstar. In July 2024, SKY made her Marigold debut, earning a victory over Utami Hayashishita.

  • Wes Lee Grateful For Fan\’s Support After WWE Release

Wes Lee was cut from WWE earlier this year, despite being a top name in WWE NXT and a former North American Champion. Now, Lee is showing his appreciation to everyone who has supported him in this post-WWE chapter of his life.

Taking to X, Lee, now going by Dezmond Xavier, apologized for not showing his appreciation sooner. The former Superstar admitted to being overwhelmed by the \”outpouring of support and adoration\” shown by fans.

Lee was released from WWE in early October, ending a nearly five-year tenure with the promotion. During his time, Lee broke the record for the most title defenses as North American Champion, and the record for the longest reign. His 269-day reign would eventually be surpassed by Oba Femi\’s 273-day reign in October 2024.

With his WWE career behind him, Dezmond Xavier is hitting the ground running. The former Superstar has been announced for House of Glory Superclash on November 15. Wrestling REVOLVER has announced that Xavier will appear at the promotion\’s Season Finale event on December 13.

  • Hammerstone Slams \’Morbidly Obese\’ Fan Over Steroids Claim

Alex Hammerstone has hit back at a fan\’s claim that he uses steroids and has taken aim at the fan\’s size and alleged use of AI. On social media, Jared Armstrong tagged OSW Review and said that Hammerstone was a \”roidy magoo candidate,\” alluding to the popular podcast\’s annual awards, which includes an award for wrestlers who appear to be on steroids.

This earned a rebuttal by Hammerstone. On his Instagram Stories, the former MLW World Champion didn\’t hold back.

“You literally can’t even make this stuff up. A stranger comes to my page to drop hate comments unprovoked… meanwhile, he’s morbidly obese but fantasizes so much about being in shape that he creates AI pictures of himself as muscular. So of course, anyone who actually did more than Photoshop themselves — it’s just because of steroids.”

    https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2025/11/\"https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2025/11/\"

Hammerstone is best known for his time in MLW, where, in addition to his World Title reign, he held the National Openweight title for 866 days. More recently, Hammerstone had been part of TNA\’s roster but parted ways with the promotion in March 2025 and has since returned to MLW.

Steroids are far less common in wrestling, as the industry has evolved. While there was a time that only jacked-up individuals using steroids could dream of being the top star, wrestling rosters today are made of people of all shapes and sizes.

For Hammerstone, his physique instantly sets him apart from others. And according to the MLW star, every pound of muscle is 100% naturally made.

  • WWE Alum Raymond Rougeau Re-Elected Mayor of Rawdon, Quebec

Raymond Rougeau is proving to be a heavyweight in both the wrestling and political worlds after being re-elected mayor of Rawdon, Quebec. Pat Laprade at TVA Sports confirmed that Rougeau was re-elected on Sunday, November 2, beating David Gendron with 59.1% of the vote.

Rawdon boasts a population of 11,719 citizens, according to the 2021 census. Rougeau first entered politics as a city councillor in 2002 and was elected mayor of Rawdon in November 2021.

In wrestling, Rougeau is perhaps best known for his time in the WWF as part of The Fabulous Rougeaus tag-team with brother Jacques. After stepping away from in-ring competition, Rougeau became a commentator and interviewer. After leaving in 2002, he returned in 2017 as WWE\’s French-language commentator before leaving in 2021.

Rougeau is not the only wrestler to see success in the world of politics. Glenn “Kane” Jacobs currently serves as Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, while Jesse “The Body” Ventura stunned the political world when he was elected governor of Minnesota in the late 1990s. More recently, Matt Riddle has teased entering politics, teasing that he could run for governor of Florida.

Rougeau\’s success proves that paths exist for wrestlers outside of the ring when their careers in the squared circle are over. After slamming opponents in the ring, Rougeau is slamming his opponents in the political world.

  • Hiroshi Tanahashi Discusses Current Plans for His Final Match

Hiroshi Tanahashi will compete in his retirement match at Wrestle Kingdom 20 in January 2026, ending an incredible in-ring career. With the end just two months away, it remains unclear who he will face in his final wrestling match.

New Japan Pro Wrestling recently held a press event featuring talent, including Tanahashi, who also serves as NJPW President. When the topic of his final opponent came up, Tanahashi asked fans to remain patient.

“Please wait a little longer. I’ve fought many different wrestlers throughout my career. I’ll make sure to announce who I want to be [facing].\”

At the recent Gifu tournament, Gedo shared that he intends to prepare an opponent for Tanahashi\’s final match. While Hiroshi remains in the dark, he is optimistic that Gedo will find the right person.

\”Gedo has a long career and a lot of connections. I don\’t know how he\’ll use them, but I\’m sure he\’s a player with whom I have some kind of relationship.\”

Tanahashi announced his retirement plans in October 2024, giving fans plenty of time to come to terms with his in-ring farewell. After his retirement, Tanahashi will commit full-time to his corporate role within New Japan.

Speculation remains rampant about Tanahashi\’s final opponent with some even suggesting WWE\’s Shinsuke Nakamura. At a recent WWE event in Japan, Nakamura made reference to Tanahashi, who responded on social media.

Stay tuned to SEScoops for the latest on Hiroshi Tanahashi\’s retirement, including coverage of his final match.

  • Dustin Rhodes Misses Being A Heel, Doesn\’t See Turn Happening

Dustin Rhodes knows what it\’s like to be a face and a heel and is excited at the prospect of returning to the dark side. On X, Rhodes shared that he misses being a heel, adding that it\’s been \”so long.\”

This post intrigued fans, many of whom were interested in a potential heel turn by the former TNT Champion. When asked if a heel turn is coming, Rhodes admitted that while he misses being a heel, he doesn\’t see a turn happening.

Rhodes has been a babyface since arriving in AEW in 2019. Rhodes\’ most recent heel turn came in May 2017 when he ended his tag team with R-Truth. As Goldust, Rhodes spent runs as both a heel and a babyface.

Whatever plans Rhodes may have coming up in AEW, they won\’t play out until he is back in the ring. In August 2025, Rhodes underwent double knee replacement surgery, a serious operation that has kept him out of action ever since. Rhodes was written off TV with a brutal attack by Kyle Fletcher.

Despite this setback, Rhodes has plans to wrestle again and has even hinted at pursuing the Ring of Honor World Championship. Whether a title reign happens or not remains to be seen, but Rhodes would like one more run as a heel before he hangs up his boots.
