  • Rey Mysterio: World Title Win Doesn\’t Happen Without Eddie’s Death

In 2006, Rey Mysterio captured the World Heavyweight Championship, a huge win for the masked icon, though one that came with a big asterisk. Rey\’s victory, and the months prior to it, saw heavy references to Eddie Guerrero, who had tragically passed away in November the previous year at the age of 38.

Speaking on the No Contest Wrestling podcast, Mysterio reflected on his emotional rise to champion and his relationship with Guerrero. The WWE Hall of Famer acknowledged that the push he received to the top likely never would have materialized had Guerrero not died so young.

“I truly believe in my heart that that moment wouldn’t have happened if Eddie hadn’t passed. Because the connection that Eddie and I had—even though we were feuding at the end… But that connection that we had, you know, everything that we did together was so unique, so real, so organic.”

Shortly after Eddie\’s passing, WWE would push Rey, who dedicated his 2006 Royal Rumble win to his late friend. On the podcast, Mysterio recalled how the talk of making him a World Champion began.

\”When Eddie passed, I believe Pat Patterson was the one that mentioned to Vince at the time, ‘You got to put the title on him\’… it happened so fast and it was so surreal.\”

WWE\’s use of Guerrero\’s death on-screen earned a backlash among several fans at the time, even being dubbed \’Eddiesploitation\’ online. WWE would use Eddie\’s death during storylines involving Rey and Randy Orton, and later for Mysterio\’s feud with Chavo and Vickie Guerrero.

Close to two decades after Eddie Guerrero\’s passing, Rey Mysterio and countless others remember Latino Heat and honor his legacy. For Rey, Eddie wasn\’t just a friend and in-ring adversary, but a driving factor in his own World Championship win.

  • John Cena Hopes For Marvel-DC Unity In Crossover Film Role

John Cena has been part of the DC Cinematic Universe as the star of Peacemaker but could fans one day see him in a role in a MARVEL movie? Speaking at Fan Expo Dallas, Cena was asked if he would ever consider playing a Marvel superhero, and shared his vision for the future.

“Here is my vision, here is my hope for the future: everybody plays nice in the same sandbox. I would love Iron Man to shake hands with Superman. I would love to see all superheroes, across all platforms, be involved in one big universe. So if that happens, and I get my wish, as a member of DC, I would essentially walk into the MCU.”

Cena is well aware that he doesn\’t write checks or cast roles, meaning that while he is under a DC contract, his current answer is no. Though some fans may have an issue with his idea of crossover, Cena believes it\’d benefit everyone in the long-term.

“I know I’m going to get punched in the face by critics for saying this, but my long-term vision is that we can tell stories with characters from both sides of the fence. Can’t we all just get along and make some good comic books and good stories?”

DC and Marvel have worked together in the past, and a crossover comic series that\’ll see Batman face Deadpool will hit shelves later this year. As for Cena, he remains hopeful for a time when Peacemaker will be able to share the screen with the likes of Spider-Man, The Avengers, and others.

  • Tony Schiavone Travels Cross Country To Give Rescue Dog A Home

Tony Schiavone loves his dogs, and he isn\’t afraid to go the extra mile (or several miles) to adopt a rescue. KIRO-TV, an outlet based in Seattle, Washington, recently shared a story of Schiavone flying cross-country to give a rescue dog a \’forever home.\’

Schiavone\’s journey began when Saraya brought a Chihuahua-beagle mix to a show, instantly catching Schiavone’s eye. The British wrestler, who has since left AEW, shared that the dog came from Motley Zoo, an animal rescue shelter based in Washington state. When AEW next held a show in Seattle, Schiavone reached out, hoping to adopt the same type of dog. By the time he made contact though, the particular dog that had captured his interest had already been adopted.

Undeterred, Schiavone and his wife waited for the right time and adopted a beagle from a rescue shelter in Atlanta, Georgia. When Schiavone later got word from Motley Zoo that a similar dog was available, he used frequent flyer miles to travel to Seattle, caught an Uber, and adopted a new furry companion named Dobby.

Schiavone’s dedication to adopting Dobby is a testament to his compassion and the powerful bond that can form between humans and rescue animals—even before they’ve met.

  • Ronda Rousey Impressing As Screenwriter For Netflix Biopic

Ronda Rousey will be the subject of a Netflix biopic, based on her two memoirs, My Fight/Your Fight and Our Fight. Now, Rousey isn\’t just the subject of her story, but she\’s the one writing it.

According to Deadline, Rousey immersed herself in screenwriting while working within WME’s story group department. She studied structure, read dozens of scripts, and ultimately decided to write the screenplay herself. Rousey finished her first draft in a week, reportedly stunning agents who were shocked that a first-time screenwriter had delivered something so quickly and effectively.

The biopic will be directed by Augustine Frizzell, who already has a well-established relationship with Netflix. Outside of the Rousey project, she’s currently directing four episodes of their upcoming sci-fi series The Boroughs, executive produced by the Duffer Brothers.

This biopic was initially set up at Paramount in 2015 but executive turnover and other issues saw the matter delayed. Now, Netflix is at the helm, and unlike earlier iterations, this biopic will include stories from her Our Fight memoir.

There’s no official release date yet, but with Netflix and Frizzell onboard—and with Rousey herself penning the script—the long-anticipated biopic is finally in motion.

  • Michael Cole Gives Injury Update on LA Knight After SmackDown Attack

WWE has issued an official update on LA Knight’s condition following an attack he suffered during the latest episode of WWE SmackDown. During the June 23 episode of WWE RAW, Michael Cole shared that Knight suffered separated rib cartilage and a bruised sternum during an attack on the blue brand.

The assault came after weeks of rising tensions between LA Knight and the alliance of Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed. On SmackDown, Knight was ambushed backstage by Breakker and Reed. Breakker hit two crushing Spears, followed by three Tsunamis from Reed, dismantling the two-time former United States Champion.

While the injury is believed to be part of an ongoing storyline, WWE is emphasizing that Knight’s in-ring status remains uncertain in the weeks ahead. Not only is Rollins riding high as Mr. Money in the Bank and with his heavies, but he now has one less problem to deal with on WWE TV.

  • Asuka Reflects on WWE Return After Year-Long Absence

Asuka is officially back after over a year out of the ring, and her return to the squared circle was far from easy. During the newest video from her KanaChanTV YouTube channel, Asuka thanked fans for their support during her time away.

\”I finally made my return to the ring. So, thank you so much for all your support, your kind messages, and your love. It means more than I can say. It really was a great help to me. I can’t even put it into words.\”

Asuka admitted that her time away from WWE was anything but easy—both physically and emotionally—and revealed there were times she struggled to stay motivated.

\”This was by no means easy. It was really hard. Well, I’d been away from the ring for almost a year, and it really wasn’t easy, and to be honest, there were some tough days.\”

The support from fans was able to keep Asuka motivated, culminating in her return during the Queen of the Ring tournament. After her first round and semi-finals wins, Asuka is just one win away from being crowned Queen, and earning herself a title match at SummerSlam 2025.

Asuka’s comeback story is far from over and now she\’s not only back, but poised to join the title picture. It remains to be seen if Asuka can secure her place at SummerSlam when she battles Jade Cargill at WWE Night of Champions.

  • Asuka Ends Damage CTRL For Good In Tense IYO SKY Face-Off

If there were any lingering doubts about the future of Damage CTRL, Asuka just ended them once and for all. During the June 23 episode of WWE RAW, Asuka made it clear that the faction is over when she came face-to-face with former stablemate IYO SKY.

In the segment, Asuka was addressing her upcoming Night of Champions match against Jade Cargill to crown the new Queen of the Ring. Sky interrupted, expressing her continued desire to face Asuka in a long-awaited dream match. The reigning Women\’s World Champion declared that “It can finally be Asuka vs. IYO SKY, just like what we talked about during Damage CTRL.\”

Asuka didn’t hesitate to set the record straight, telling SKY “We are not in Damage CTRL anymore.\” With that one line, Asuka confirmed that the faction, that had been introduced in 2022, was finished for good.

Reports earlier this year indicated WWE had quietly disbanded Damage CTRL following Dakota Kai’s release in May. Since then, the remaining members have gone their separate ways. Bayley is pursuing a solo run, Kairi Sane and Asuka were briefly sidelined by injuries, and IYO SKY has been the only active member on-screen.

Even with Asuka and Kairi now back in the mix, there have been no signs of a reunion—and Monday night’s confrontation left no room for misinterpretation. Instead, fans can expect the group\’s alum to work solo, and in the case of Asuka, intend to compete against IYO SKY soon enough.

  • King & Queen of the Ring Finals Set for WWE Night of Champions

WWE\’s next King and Queen will soon be crowned after the final finalists for the two tournaments were decided during the June 23, edition of WWE Raw. During the show, Cody Rhodes defeated his former tag team partner Jey Uso to move on to the finals. With this victory, Rhodes will face Randy Orton, his former mentor, in the finals with a shot at a WWE World Title on the line.

In the Queen of the Ring semi-finals, Jade Cargill bested Roxanne Perez to earn her place at Night of Champions. Cargill will face Asuka in the finals, in a match with a significant meaning. After all, Asuka was sharing the ring with Cargill in May 2024 when she suffered an injury that\’d keep her out of action for over a year.

Either Asuka or Cargill will be crowned queen and earn a shot at either Tiffany Stratton or IYO SKY. With championship opportunities on the line, expect these four Superstars to hold nothing back when the King and Queen of the Ring finals take place this Saturday.

  • WWE\’s Eugene Makes In-Ring Return At RevPro Revolution Rumble

Fans attending RevPro Revolution Rumble 2025 this week were given a blast from the past with a surprise appearance by Eugene. During the show\’s titular Rumble match, the former WWE World Tag Team Champion made quite the impression.

Though Eugene, as played by Nick Dinsmore, impressed in the ring, he didn\’t leave with the win. Instead, it was Sha Samuels who emerged on top, outlasting Eugene and 28 other wrestlers in the show\’s main event.

In the Ruthless Agression era, few characters were more controversial than Eugene. The character, the kayfabe nephew of Eric Bischoff, was portrayed as someone with learning disabilities, which caused a backlash at the time. While some found the character offensive, WWE tried to portray it as an empowering portrayal of someone who had overcome obstacles to achieve their dream.

Even today, the debate over the Eugene character rages on, as many on X have expressed their anger at RevPro for using the controversial character. Clearly, the character continues to stir up a lot of debate, over 20 years after Eugene first arrived on WWE programming.

  • Jerry Lawler Opens Up About Memory Loss After 2023 Stroke

Jerry \’The King\’ Lawler suffered a stroke in 2023, a health concern that continues to plague the WWE Hall of Famer to this day. During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Lawler opened up about the cognitive struggles he’s still facing. On the show, Lawler tried and failed to recall the name of CM Punk when discussing facing one of WWE\’s biggest-ever stars in the ring.

\”Oh gosh, I just can’t think of their names… One of them is one of the top heels or babyfaces right now.\”

Lawler only remembered Punk\’s name thanks to the prompting of Mark Henry, and this would not be his only struggle with memory during the show. After failing to recall the name of Terry Funk, a man Lawler had some of his iconic matches with, The King reflected on how the stroke has affected him.

\”My mind just goes because of the stroke… I\’m m sorry, I just have these… I don’t know… these bouts with my strokes and stuff like that, but I just can’t help it.\”

Despite these challenges, Lawler continues to make public appearances. But his recent interview shows the honest, difficult reality of what life after a stroke can look like—even for wrestling royalty.

  • Olympic Gold Medalist Aaron Wolf Signs with New Japan Pro Wrestling

Olympians have been part of pro wrestling for decades and now New Japan Pro Wrestling has an Olympic Gold Medalist to its name. In a press conference, NJPW shared that Aaron Wolf has signed with the promotion. Wolf won the 2021 Olympic gold medal in judo at 100 kg as part of that year\’s games in Tokyo, Japan.

During the press conference, Wolf shared how his journey to New Japan Pro Wrestling came about:

\”I\’ve just come from my last judo tournament… I approached NJPW with the idea to come into professional wrestling. Since I was a college student, I always looked forward to seeing Pro-Wrestling and seeing how cool and aspirational these figures were. I realised this would be a new way to express myself outside of judo.\”

New Japan President Hiroshi Tanahashi was also at the press conference and was excited for Wolf to join. Not only is Wolf joining NJPW, but his debut will come at WrestleKingdom 2026.

\”I have seen first hand Wolf\’s passion for professional wrestling and welcome him to NJPW and have high expectations for him. I would like for Aaron to make his pro-wrestling debut on January 4 2026 at the Tokyo Dome. Please look forward to my retirement match as well as Wolf\’s debut.\”

Wolf isn\’t taking his impending debut lightly and made clear he\’s aware that the wrestling world\’s eyes will be upon him. As one era ends on January 4, fans will perhaps see the dawning of the Aaron Wolf era.

  • Mick Foley Reveals Farewell Tour, What He\’ll Do After

Farewell tours have become increasingly commin in wrestling, from John Cena\’s in-ring goodbye to Sting retiring his face-painted look by the end of this year. Now, Mick Foley has revealed when he plans to say goodbye to the industry he holds dear.

Foley appeared on D-Von Dudley’s YouTube channel where he discussed his career and life in wrestling. As he reflected on the future, Foley shared that he plans to walk away from wrestling in 2028.

\”I’m going to go back out on the road again for one final tour in 2028 for the 30 Years of Hell Tour, and the idea is to hang it up completely, fix my teeth, maybe start wearing nice clothes so no one knows who I am, and just disappear into the night.\”

2028 will mark three decades since Foley\’s infamous showdown with The Undertaker, both in, and atop the Hell in a Cell structure. Foley\’s performance that night, including being thrown off and later through the cell, remains one of the most iconic moments in WWE history.

Though Foley\’s final match for WWE was as part of the 2012 Royal Rumble match, he continues to make appearances and tours around the world. Now, fans know they have mere years to see the Hardcore legend one last time.

A notable change for the show is the addition of Michelle McCool who is replacing Mickie James as the sole female judge on the program. While McCool\’s joining came after pushes from her husband The Undertaker, it has been reported that the Deadman did not push for James to be removed.

The season premiere also shared the rules for this season of WWE LFG:

We\’re just one episode into season two of WWE LFG but drama is already brewing. In a heated scene, Booker T, one of the judges, stormed out, claiming he should have won season one. Fans can expect plenty more from WWE LFG as the company\’s search for its next two signings continues.

  • TNA\’s Elijah Was Robbed at WrestleCon in Las Vegas

TNA Wrestling\’s Elijah has had a rough time as of late, as he is dealing with an injury suffered during a recent match for WWE NXT. As if that wasn\’t bad enough, the wrestler was also the victim of theft during his last WrestleCon appearance.

On Keepin\’ It 100, Konnan shared that Elijah was robbed at the convention which this year took place in Las Vegas for WrestleMania week. Only a single item was left on Elijah\’s table as the thieves made off with everything else he planned to sell.

\”Somebody stole his stuff—like the table, like everything. The only thing they didn’t take, I think, was his guitar. But all his other stuff, like his bag and everything, somebody took it, which is pretty crappy.\”

Elijah suffered a torn triceps during the June 17, episode of WWE NXT. The injury occurred after delivering a double knee to the chest of his opponent, followed by a hard landing. He has since undergone successful surgery to repair the damage.

Now that he\’s out of the ring, Elijah will be counting on convention appearances to help make money while he can\’t wrestle, making this theft all the more disturbing. We at SEScoops are continuing to wish him a full and speedy recovery.

  • CM Punk Praises \’My MVP\’ Liv Morgan After Shoulder Injury

Liv Morgan is out with an injury, one that is expected to keep the Women\’s Tag Team Champion away from the ring for months. During the Cold as Balls panel with Kevin Hart at Fanatics Fest, CM Punk paused the comedy to shout out Morgan, highlighting her impact in WWE over the past year.

“Shout out to Liv Morgan, who recently I think got injured. She was on a tear. She was like my MVP for the year.”

Punk highlighted how Morgan arrived in WWE not long after he walked out in 2014. Though he hasn\’t been around for the majority of her career, what he\’s seen up close has amazed the Best in the World.

\”Just from the time I’ve been around her and been able to see her work—just the way she’s developed this last year and just absolutely kind of like broken out of her shell and turned into this little worker—it kind of warms my heart.”

Punk chalked up Liv\’s injury as \”disappointing\” but also \”part of the process\” of being a WWE Superstar. Hart praised Punk for his homage, calling the synergy among talent in wrestling \”the dope thing about the sport.\”

Liv Morgan’s injury has already caused major creative shifts in WWE’s women’s division, as a rumored showdown with Nikki Bella for Evolution 2 will not go ahead. We at SEScoops are continuing to wish her a full and speedy recovery.

  • Latest on WWE Night of Champions As U.S-Iran Tensions Escalate

WWE’s upcoming Night of Champions event in Saudi Arabia remains on the schedule despite heightened global tensions in the middle east. Following the United States\’ bombing of three nuclear sites in Iran, Iran has since promised “everlasting consequences,” raising immediate concerns about WWE’s planned trip to Riyadh.

Fightful Select reached out to company representatives, but no formal comment was issued. Privately, however, one company executive stated the situation is “being monitored accordingly.” As it stands, WWE talent is expected to travel mid-week on a chartered flight.

Originally, the flight was set to include only the core group booked for Night of Champions, but plans have since expanded with WWE announcing a special three-hour episode of SmackDown from Riyadh that same week.

Currently in Saudi Arabia, production crews and event staff are continuing preparations. One source close to the setup said everything was “full steam ahead” as of Sunday afternoon. The same individual, speaking off the record, expressed confidence that the event would not be postponed or canceled, noting the significant financial implications would be hit hard. The 2026 Royal Rumble is scheduled for Saudi Arabia, and WWE does not wish to do anything to jeopardize that show.

Another added that WWE is expected to receive strong security assurances ahead of the event. The Night of Champions venue remains in active build mode, and local fan events tied to the show are expected in the coming days.

While WWE’s Saudi partnership remains one of its most lucrative, the company is clearly proceeding with caution. For now, the show is on—but that could change depending on how the global situation unfolds.

  • Dominik Mysterio Shares Throwback Moment with Trish Stratus

On WWE TV, Dominik Mysterio has made clear that he doesn\’t like many people, and while Liv Morgan is among those he does like, Trish Stratus is another woman he holds in high regard. On X, the reigning Intercontinental Champion shared that he and Stratus had recreated a photo from his youth. In both photos, Stratus is holding Mysterio in her arms. Mysterio added that Stratus is the \”best thing to ever come out of Canada.\”

The side-by-side shots offer a heartfelt look at how far Mysterio has come in his WWE journey, and highlight Stratus’ longstanding support of the second-generation star. Not just known as the child of one of the greatest of all time, Dominik continues to establish his own name in wrestling away from his father.

Mysterio captured the Intercontinental title at WrestleMania 41, the \’Dirty\’ Superstar\’s first taste of singles gold with WWE. Time will tell how long he remains champion, but Trish Stratus is behind Mysterio all the way.

  • AEW\’s Wardlow Eager To Play Bane In James Gunn\’s DC Universe

AEW’s Wardlow is ready to make the leap to Hollywood—and he’s got his eyes set on taking over Gotham City. On X, Wardlow shared that he\’s open to playing Bane in a future DC Comics project from James Gunn, but acknowledged that he\’s not the only name interested in the role.

Dave Bautista has expressed interest in playing Bane, and has experience working with Gunn, the head of DC\’s movie endeavors. Bautista portrayed Drax the Destroyer in Gunn\’s Guardians of the Galaxy films, and the two remain close friends to this day.

Neither Wardlow or Bautista would be the first wrestler to take on the role. The late Jeep Swenson—known to wrestling fans as The Ultimate Solution in WCW—portrayed Bane in 1997’s Batman & Robin. However, that version of the character was widely criticized by fans and critics alike.

Bane is one of Batman\’s most iconic villains and was introduced in 1993 in shocking fashion. A master manipulator who boasts brains and braun, Bane was able to push Batman to his limit before breaking the back of the bat over his knee.

Whether Gunn plans to bring Bane into his reimagined DC universe remains to be seen. But with his in-ring presence and growing charisma, Wardlow seems eager to follow in the footsteps of Cena and Bautista as wrestling’s next big crossover star.

  • Brie Bella: I\’d Love To Return But WWE Hasn\’t Called

WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella could be on her way back to the ring, following on from her sister Nikki\’s return to the promotion. Appearing at the Nickelodeon Kids\’ Choice Awards, Brie was asked about possibly getting back in the ring in the near future.

“Maybe. I would love to return. I’m still waiting for that call. Nikki got the call, but Brie didn’t. I did change my number if you wanted to know. So all I need is a phone call and that could happen.”

Bella did more at the Kids Choice Awards than just tease WWE involvement. The former WWE Divas Champion was joined by her daughter Birdie and represented her and Nikki\’s podcast in the \’Favorite Podcast\’ award, though didn\’t win.

Brie last competed as part of the 2022 Women\’s Royal Rumble, a match won by Ronda Rousey. With Bella still having the wrestling \’bug\’ and Evolution 2 drawing near, a return to action may be coming very soon.

  • Jordynne Grace Calls Evolution 2 Her Last Shot at NXT Glory

Jordynne Grace won a No. 1 contender’s match for the NXT Women’s Championship on the June 17, episode, inching closer to a spot at WWE Evolution. For Grace, this isn\’t just another opportunity at the gold, but likely her last.

In an update posted by WWE on June 21, Grace spoke candidly about her WWE NXT run so far. After coming up short in the past, the Juggernaut believes that a potential match for the title is her last chance.

“Honestly, I feel like I’ve had opportunity after opportunity to get the job done, and when I get my final opportunity—Evolution—it has to be the last one. It has to be it for me.

“Women’s wrestling has gone through an evolution, pro wrestling has gone through an evolution, and now I need to go through an evolution and finally become the NXT Women’s Champion.”

After defeating Lola Vice, Grace joined Lash Legend, Jaida Parker, and Izzi Dame in next week’s four-way bout. The winner will go on to challenge Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Title at WWE Evolution on July 13.

WWE Evolution is scheduled for July 13 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, part of a jam-packed WWE weekend that also includes Saturday Night’s Main Event. With the NXT Women\’s Title on the line, Grace is ready to make the most of what she sees as her final opportunity.

Both Moore and Stone have been gaining momentum in recent weeks, and their futures with TNA are now secured. Moore has experience with AEW, SHINE, and MLW, while Stone has previously wresttled in OVW, DDT Pro, GCW, AEW, and Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling.

  • Kota Ibushi Returns To AEW After Near-Two-Year-Hiatus

Kota Ibushi is officially back in AEW. The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion made his surprise return on the June 21 episode of AEW Collision, rushing to the aid of Kenny Omega and Mark Briscoe during their battle with the Don Callis Family.

Ibushi arrived with a purpose and wasted no time in taking down Josh Alexander. He then squared off with Kazuchika Okada in a hard-hitting exchange that teased a major showdown between the two. While their interaction didn\’t last long, it succeeded in exciting fans for what\’s to come.

This marks Ibushi’s first AEW appearance since AEW Dynamite in November 2023, where he was on the winning end of a tag-team street fight. In April, Ibushi confirmed that his visa issues had been resolved, signaling that a return was imminent. Now he is back, and ready to provide Omega with some serious back-up.

Kenny Omega is set to face Okada at AEW All In in London to crown the first-ever AEW Unified Champion. With Ibushi now back in the picture, the stakes surrounding the match have reached a new level ahead of their showdown on July 13.

  • Dave Bautista in Talks for Amazon’s Road House Sequel

Dave Bautista has become a bonafide star in the world of acting and fans could soon see him in a much anticipated action sequel. Deadline reports that Bautista has received an offer to join the upcoming sequel to Road House, which will once again be directed by Guy Ritchie. While the offer is on the table, negotiations between Bautista and Amazon MGM Studios have not officially begun.

The sequel is being written by Will Beall and will see Jake Gyllenhaal return as Dalton, a former UFC fighter turned bouncer in the Florida Keys. The first film, which served as a reboot to the 80s classic, was a major hit for Prime Video, racking up over 50 million viewers in its first two weekends. In its first eight weeks, the film reached 80 million global viewers, making it the most-watched original film in Amazon’s history at the time.

While fans could soon expect Bautista in this film, one place they shouldn\’t expect him is in the ring. The Animal ended his wrestling career in 2019 with a loss to his close friend Triple H at WrestleMania 35. Though Bautista has said he admits the rush of being a WWE Superstar, he will not compete again, acknowledging that his time has passed and he would only spoil his special farewell match.

While Bautista’s involvement isn’t confirmed, his addition would mark another high-profile casting move for the growing Road House franchise. Stay tuned for the latest on Bautista\’s moves.

  • John Cena Teasing \’Something Special\’ for WWE Night of Champions

John Cena and CM Punk will collide, perhaps for the last time, and something big is brewing for Night of Champions. Appearing at the WWE SummerSlam kick-off event, Cena kept coy about plans, but teased big things to come in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“If you’re enjoying what we’re doing on TV right now, then you have to watch Night of Champions — it’s going to be effing great. If you liked SmackDown, I promise you’ll like the next one even more. We’re cooking up something special. Don’t miss it.”

Michael Cole attempted to pry more details out of the Undisputed WWE Champion, but he refused, saying he was not there to spoil the show. Cena was similarly cagey when pressed about what changed in him to cause his heel turn from March of this year.

CM Punk was also at the kick-off event and had plenty to say about his opponent. These appearances have left fans wondering if Cena\’s words were the typical WWE hype bravado, or if something special is indeed coming to Night of Champions.

  • John Cena Jokes About Not Hitting for Real At Fanatics Fest

John Cena’s sense of humor was on full display at Fanatics Fest, where the Undisputed WWE Champion tried to throw a punch as part of the festivities. In footage shared by Fanatics, Cena approached a classic arcade punching bag game, and despite looking ready to demolish the machine with a single strike, barely grazes the bag, not once, but twice.

The moment captured Cena in his element as he joked that “I haven’t hit anyone for real in 25 years, thank you very much.” Cena\’s fake-out scored a big laugh from fans, though some seemed frustrated to not see a genuine punch by the \’Unseen Seventeen.\’

This wasn\’t Cena\’s only hilarious moment at Fanatics Fest. Earlier in the day, Cena told the story of his “great-great-grandfather’s friend” who could throw six baseballs at once. John however, dropped all six balls to the floor before walking over and slapping every target.

While Cena is currently embracing a heel role on WWE television, moments like these remind fans of his unmatched charisma and why he remains one of wrestling’s most enduring entertainers—both inside and outside the ring.
