  • Riddick Moss Confirms He\’s Been Working With A Torn ACL

WWE Supestar Riddick Moss has been working with a torn ACL for the past two months. He made the surprise revelation in a social media post on Tuesday morning.

Moss has not let the injury keep him off television. In fact, he\’s gone undefeated on Raw Underground and on Main Event.

He touts his \”elite power, speed, agility, and explosion\” and says he\’s squatted 500 pounds, deadlifted 600 pounds, and broad jumped over 10’ during his recovery

\”When you have such high expectations for yourself, it’s hard to exceed them,\” wrote Moss. \”But damn… even I was impressed with Riddy Mo on this one. 100% real talk, I don’t know of anyone else who could’ve done all of this. I am everything I’ve said I am – best athlete in the industry, Baddest MoFo on the Show, and a true Outlier.\”

  • Triple H Attributes Velveteen Dream\’s \’Rough Year\’ To Immaturity In His Personal Life

Triple H held a Q&A session Sunday afternoon prior to NXT Takeover 31 from the new Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, FL.

The Game touched upon many topics, but the one that is getting the most attention involves controversial wrestler Velveteen Dream. Dream was accused of having \’sexually inappropriate\’ communications with a minor earlier this year.

WWE says they conducted an investigation into the matter and \”didn\’t find anything,\” although the accuser says he was never contacted by the organization.

During Sunday\’s Q&A, Triple H commented on Velveteen Dream\’s match against KUSHIDA. He expressed that Dream is coming off a rough year resulting from \”immaturity in his personal life\”

\”Coming off of what was a bit of a rough year for Velveteen Dream, reorganizing himself,\” said Triple H. \”You know, Dream is one of those young guys that still hasn’t quite found his way yet of who he wants to be. And I think sometimes that weighs on him. His immaturity in his life presents itself in his professional life and makes it difficult for him sometimes.”

Triple H previously stated that WWE has moved on from the \”alleged underaged sexting\” situation. Fans revolted when Dream was recently brought back to WWE TV. The hashtag #FireVelveteenDream has been a trending topic on social media on more than one occasion.

KUSHIDA picked up the win over Velveteen Dream at NXT Takeover 31.

  • Injury Updates For Finn Balor & Kyle O’Reilly Following NXT Takeover

  • FTR Talks About Learning From Dusty Rhodes

AEW tag team champions appeared on The Push Podcast the week and spoke about their experience being mentored by Dusty Rhodes.

Prior to joining All Elite Wrestling, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood competed in WWE and NXT as The Revival. It was Dusty Rhodes who paired them up and they learned a lot from the late American Dream.

“For us, he wanted us to be a team.\” said Harwood. I think he enjoyed that we were two Carolina boys. I think he enjoyed the fact that we both had Southern accents, and we had our style of work. And I also think he liked the fact that we weren’t the biggest guys in the room.\”

Rhodes urged them to always have each others backs, which created a bond between them that has lasted to this day. Harwood continued, \”He told us never to leave each other’s side, whether we were in promo class, at the shows together, or in the Performance Center, ‘Never leave each other’s side. Be seen together all the time, so that people can see what I sees, just on the surface.’\”

Harwood added that Dusty Rhodes taught them to use a \’conversational\’ style when doing their promos. He taught them the value of connecting with the audience and their peers by speaking to them in a believable way.

Cash Wheeler also spoke fondly of Dusty Rhodes\’ teaching style.

“Yeah, the craziest thing about learning from Dusty is, half the time you didn’t even realize you were learning until after he already taught you,\” said Wheeler. \”He would like, Mr. Miyagi you. You don’t understand why he’s asking you certain things, and why you’re doing certain things until after, finally you just have this realization of like, ‘Oh wow, that’s why he wanted me to do it.’\”

  • MJF Says He Wants To Work With Top NXT Star

MJF is interested in wrestling one of the top stars on WWE\’s NXT brand.

The 24-year-old AEW star held a Twitter Q&A session with fans Friday afternoon. Taking time out of his busy schedule, MJF answered 5 questions from fans who used the hashtag, #imabigdumbmark.

One fan asked if he could if he could have a jacket too, a reference to MJF giving members of the Inner Circle jackets this past week on Dynamite. MJF \”forgot\” to give a jacket to Sammy Guevara and referenced his snub of the Spanish God during the Q&A. He wrote, \”I\’m still trying to find Sammy\’s [Jacket]. Poor little guy is probably somewhere freezing cold right now.\”

MJF was asked who he wants to wrestle that is not currently on the AEW roster. He replied, \”#Betterthanyou vs. #BayBay.\” The tweet has since been deleted.

    \"\"

Of course, this is a reference to former NXT Champion Adam Cole, husband of AEW star Britt Baker. Aside from his wife, Cole has history with many of AEW\’s core performers. The Undisputed Era leader would be a huge addition to the AEW roster if he ever decided to jump ship.

Hell in a Cell takes place Sunday, October 25th from the ThunderDome in Orlando, FL and airs live on the WWE Network.

  • Roman Reigns Tribal Chief Crowning Ceremony Announced for SmackDown

All hail the Tribal Chief. Paul Heyman recently bestowed this moniker upon his new client, WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. On SmackDown, it will be made official.

WWE has announced that Paul Heyman will preside over a special \”Tribal Chief crowning ceremony\” for his client this Friday night. The SmackDown preview at the WWE website questions if the rest of the legendary Anoa’i family will agree with the gesture.

In addition to this most unique ceremony, Friday\’s SmackDown will also feature Sammy Zayn defending the Intercontinental Championship against Jeff Hardy and Kevin Owens welcoming Alexa Bliss on The KO Show.

Zayn captured the Intercontinental Title this past weekend at Clash of Champions by winning a Triple Threat Winner Take All Ladder Match with Hardy and AJ Styles.

  • Arn Anderson Files To Trademark \”The Four Horsemen\”

AEW coach Arn Anderson has filed to trademark the phrase, \”The Four Horsement.\”

A search of the United States and Patent Office database shows that Marty Lunde (Arn Anderson) filed the application just days ago on September 27th.

The Four Horsemen trademark would be for usage in \”Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personalities\” and other similar services (personal appearances, interviews, etc.).

The attorney of record on the application is Michael E. Dockins. In addition to Arn Anderson, Dockins also represents Jim Ross, Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley FTR, Miro and many other pro wrestlers.

Podcast host Conrad Thompson previously applied to trademark \’Four Horsemen\’ back in March 2019 through a business entity, Toot Toot, LLC. That mark was abandoned later in the year due to failure to respond or late response.

The legendary Four Horsemen faction was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2012. If Arn Anderson\’s application is approved, we could very well see a new incarnation of the Horsemen appear in AEW.

Miro was the special guest on this week\’s AEW Unrestricted podcast. The following is a recap of Miro\’s discussion with Tony Schiavone and Aubrey Edwards:

    • Miro spoke about the abysmal \”Rusev is a sex addict\” storyline that WWE ran last November. This was during the Lana and Bobby Lashley romance angle. WWE writers actually scripted a plot point that Rusev suffered from erectile dysfunction. He went to Vince McMahon directly and told him his character would never be able to recover if they went through with the erectile dysfunction angle. He told listeners that if you suffer from ED, you should see a doctor immediately and consider using Blue Chew.
    • Miro worked many odd jobs when he was youngr, including being a taxi cab driver, a painter, a cleaner and even worked at Wendy\’s.
    • When asked which AEW wrestler he wants to work with, he said Kenny Omega.
    • WWE Superstar Xavier Woods got him into Twitch streaming.
  • Tegan Nox Out With Another ACL Tear

Tegan Nox has suffered an ACL tear once again. WWE announced the news Wednesday afternoon on social media.

During the media conference call to promote Sunday\’s NXT Takeover 31 event, Triple H confirmed that Tegan Nox has already undergone knee surgery and is recovering.

This is the third time Nox will miss extended ring time due to this same injury. The first ACL tear came just prior to 2017\’s inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament. She missed nearly a year of ring time.

It happened again the following year during the quarterfinals of the Mae Young Classic. She missed another 10 months with a torn ACL, MCL, meniscus and lateral collateral ligament.

WWE is running a storyline that Nox tore her ACL last week on NXT, when Candice LaRae attacked her before the women\’s battle royal. However, it is believed the suffered the injury prior to that match.

We wish Tegan Nox a speedy recovery.

  • WarnerMedia Execs Tout AEW\’s Success Ahead Of Dynamite Anniversary

All Elite Wrestling is approaching the 1-year anniversary of AEW Dynamite, the company\’s flagship television series that has made an indelible impact on the professional wrestling industry.

Variety has published an in-depth look at the meteoric rise of AEW. From the first episode of Dynamite last October, to being forced to adapt and ultimately thrive during the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been a remarkable year.

The article features quotes from AEW President Tony Khan, Executive Vice Presidents Cody and Brandi Rhodes, World Champion Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho.

Cody says AEW is like his child. \”It really is my baby in terms of how I feel about AEW and how I feel about the roster. Even people who are older than me, I think of them as my kids.\”

Chris Jericho addressed his Demo God moniker and the \’Wednesday Night War\’ with WWE\’s NXT brand. \”We don’t really pay attention to what they do during the show,\” Jericho said. \”But afterwards, of course, you check in the ratings.\”

AEW has been the clear-cut viewership victor over NXT as the first year comes to a close.

Jon Molxey once again pointed out the factors that separate AEW from his former home (and industry leader), WWE. “We let our talent speak in their own voice, say what they want to say, stay with the feeling, and it creates authentic moments.”

Also quoted in the piece are several WarnerMedia executives. AEW has developed a strong relationship with their corporate partner. After surprising everyone with the early success of AEW Dynamite, the two sides extended their partnership through 2023. A new one-hour weekly television show will premiere in 2021.

Brett Weitz, General Manager of TNT, TBS and truTV, said he was amazed at Tony Khan\’s ability to pivot and grow when COVID hit. \”He was able to keep those storylines going and put so many great things together, even through a global pandemic, and that tells you everything you need to know about the DNA of that brand and that guy as a producer.\”

Sam Linsky, Senior Vice President and co-head of scripted originals for TNT, TBS and truTV, says they are eager to grow the AEW brand across their broad network of platforms.

“We’ve got a comic book company. We’ve got video game companies. We’ve got merchandising people. We’ve got people who make animation for television. We’ve got reality television producers. It’s all in house. So we have a real opportunity to spread this IP and grow it across WarnerMedia.”

Visit Variety to read the full article.

AEW will officially celebrate the 1-year anniversary of Dynamite on the Wednesday, October 14th episode. Jon Moxley is scheduled to defend the AEW World Championship against #1 contender Lance Archer, who has been out of action after contracting COVID-19.

  • John Cena: My In-Ring Career Is Less Active, But Not Over

John Cena\’s career in the entertainment industry is taking off, but he\’s not done being a WWE Superstar.

The 15-time world champion appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon this week to promote his role in the new Fast and Furious movie (premiering April 2, 2021) and his inspirational children\’s book series, Elbow Grease.

Elbow Grease is about an undersized monster truck who perseveres by believing in himself. It\’s a wholesome message that resonates with the legion of young people who look up to John Cena as a role model.

John Cena says his in-ring career has slowed down, but it\’s not over.

“With Elbow Grease books, I have a very young audience in WWE. A lot of kids, a lot of families, and as my in-ring career is not as active—it’s not over, but it’s not as active I wanted to continue to send messaging to those younger viewers, because so many times parents have said, \’your ‘Never Give Up’ words have helped my son or daughter.\’\”

Cena last competed at WrestleMania 36 back in April when he wrestled The Fiend in the Firefly Fun House Match.

In addition to his upcoming role in the Fast and Furious 9 film, Cena has a role in the new Suicide Squad movie, will star in the Suicide Spinoff series Peacemaker for HBO and will host a revival of the Wipeout game show on TBS.

AEW Reportedly Dealing With Multiple COVID-19 Cases

  • Matt Cardona No Longer With AEW After Fulfilling Limited-Date Agreement

Matt Cardona says he is no longer under contract with All Elite Wrestling. The wrestler best known as Zack Ryder appeared on the Pro Wrestling Junkies show this week to discuss his brief run with company.

Cardona was released from WWE back in April. He debuted for AEW on the July 29th episode of Dynamite. This came after the expiry of his 90-day non-compete clause. Cardona was working under a limited-appearance deal. He fulfilled the agreement after AEW\’s All Out pay-per-view and is now a free agent once again.

Cardona told Pro Wresting Junkies that he is open to working with AEW again.

\”That\’s the place to be right now,\” he said of AEW. \”To be there even for a month, and do a couple of matches, was a lot of fun. It was great to just be out there and be myself again. Hopefully, we\’ll do it again soon.\”

Cardona says he\’s love to wrestle for New Japan Pro Wrestling or work some independent dates. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has seriously limited the amount of shows being held. He is looking ahead to when things settle down and he can get back to entertaining wrestling fans.

\”It\’s a weird situation and weird time in the world. I\’d love to go to New Japan, or even go back and main event a few indie shows at my home promotions in New York.
When the world opens up, it\’ll be the best time in wrestling. Fans and wrestlers will both be so excited and we\’re gonna have some kickass shows.\”

Matt Cardona hosts the Major Figures Wrestling Podcast along with childhood friend Brian Myers. WWE fans know Myers as Curt Hawkins. He currently wrestles for Impact, which could be an option for Cardona if things don\’t work out with AEW.

  • Miro Says Getting Released By WWE Wasn\’t A Curveball, It Was A Home Run

\”The Best Man\” Miro spoke to Chris Van Vliet this week in a wide-ranging interview that spanned nearly 40 minutes. The Bulgarian strongman discussed his \”dreadful\” experience working for WWE, the directionless romance storyline involving his wife Lana and Bobby Lashley and much more.

Miro was let go by WWE back in April when the company released and furloughed over 30 people. Even though he grew a little concerned when WWE announced the first wave of firings, Miro reveals he was surprised to find out they were cutting him as well.

\”I\’m waiting outside the veterinarian to get my dogs like shots or something,\” he said. \”So I was thinking of something completely else when they called me. But who cares, man. Life takes curveballs but that\’s not a curveball – that\’s actually a straight home run. That\’s no curveball that\’s a home run for me.\”

Upon hearing that his services were no longer needed by Vince McMahon, Miro gave himself five minutes to let off some anger. That anger quickly changed to excitement, since the coast was now clear for him to join All Elite Wrestling.

\”I knew right away where I was gonna go,\” said Miro. \”And I had no doubts that I was gonna get to AEW because I always admired AEW ever since it came out. And people may not want to admit it but we all watched AEW we all wanted to see what it\’s all about.\”

There\’s much more to the discussion, which you can check out in the video player embedded below:

  • Roman Reigns Names CM Punk As a Dream Opponent

Roman Reigns says he\’d probably be willing to work with CM Punk, but would probably have to \”get slapped around a few times\” before agreeing to lace up his boots up one more time.

In recent weeks, Roman Reigns has a new attitude. The Big Dog has evolved into the Tribal Chief. He\’s got a new attitude, he aligned himself with Paul Heyman and is the reigning Universal Champion. Reigns picked up an impressive win over his cousin Jey Uso this past weekend at WWE Clash of Champions.

During a recent appearance on the Complex Load Management podcast, Reigns spoke about what it\’s been like working with Paul Heyman, his WWE Mt. Rushmore and potential dream matches. Naturally, The Rock\’s name came up as a dream opponent. Reigns also mentioned CM Punk as someone he could see doing business with.

While discussing dream opponents, Reigns said, \”All the way from someone as big as The Rock, to someone like CM Punk, for instance, someone who really hits home with our home audience, our hardcore fans. If you\’d watched wrestling for the past 10 to 15 years, and you love it, and it\’s within your blood, then you probably have some kind of feelings about that guy. I know I do; just by doing one of these things, he made my job a lot harder.\”

CM Punk is currently retired from active competition. However, he has left the door open for a possible return. Reigns knows CM Punk has been very outspoken about WWE. He thinks Punk would need to \’get his mind right\’ before agreeing to work with him. That said – he knows there\’s big money in a Reigns vs. Punk feud and he\’d be willing to explore this scenario if Punk is interested.

\”If it\’s something that the fans can get behind, and that it can really make them seek their teeth into the product, and really dive into the creative with us, I\’m willing to do it,\” Reigns said.

\”I don\’t like the guy, I don\’t know many who do, but I\’m willing to put business first and make really good content if that\’s the case. He\’d probably have to get slapped around a few times in order to get his mind right, but if he\’s willing, and the fans and the audience is going to like it and be into it, then most likely I\’m going to be into it.\”

You can listen to Roman Reigns comments in the player embedded below:

  • Update On The Future Of NWA Power

The National Wrestling Alliance\’s weekly digital series NWA Power is not dead, according to NWA Champion Nick Aldis.

Power has been on hiatus for the past several months. The COVID-19 pandemic led the NWA to suspend television tapings. The season 3 finale, a \’lost episode\’ of repurposed footage, aired on the NWA\’s Youtube channel in May.

Former NWA VP Dave Lagana resigned from the promotion \’effective immediately\’ on June 18th in the wake of sexual assault allegations by a female wrestler he worked with. As a result of the Lagana scandal, the NWA stated at the time, \”All production of NWA content is temporarily halted, pending a restructuring of executive management positions.\”

Since then, several key players from the NWA roster have found work elsewhere, most notably Ricky Starks, Eddie Kingston and NWA Women\’s Champion Thunder Rosa.

The NWA recently partnered with the United Wrestling Network for a live, weekly PPV series, United Wrestling Network\’s Primetime LIVE.

Earlier this week, an NWA fan wrote on Twitter, \”I\’m sad #NWAPowerrr is gone.\” This caught the attention of Nick Aldis, who replied, \”Steve, let me be crystal clear: #NWAPowerrr is not gone. Stay tuned.\”

This is certainly encouraging news from the NWA Champion. The retro-themed studio wrestling show was building a loyal audience before things went off the rails earlier this year.

The Mayo Clinic describes this as a, \”surgical procedure to remove uterine fibroids, also called leiomyomas. These common noncancerous growths appear in the uterus. Uterine fibroids usually develop during childbearing years, but they can occur at any age.\”

Naomi competed at WrestleMania 36 back in April in a 5-way elimination match for the SmackDown women\’s title.

She posted a message on social media stating, \”In the midst of Hurricane Sally and Covid, I also underwent an unexpected – hour surgery to finally remove a massive fibroid that\’s caused me severe anemia fatigue horrible abdominal pains and more problems I don\’t even want to mention over the past year and a half.\”

Namia says that she is recovering well and already feels so much better. She urged her family, friends and fans not to worry because she is feeling well.

We wish Naomi a speedy recovery.
