Prichard provided detailed information about the company\’s operations in the months leading up to the event. Aldis did not wrestle at Slammiversary that year, but Prichard was asked why we never saw Nick Aldis work for WWE.

Prichard says that Nick Aldis is talented, but does not have the \”it\” factor that gets people to the next level. He said Aldis was a big fish in a small pond, but comes across like he is \”playing wrestler.\”

The champ says that he does not want to participate in an online feud or be controversial just for the sake of it, but he is compelled to address Prichard\’s comments. Prichard is not the first podcast host to critique his career, but he is far more than a podcast host. He is a top executive at WWE, the leader of his professional industry.

Nick Aldis added that Prichard needs to \”keep my name out of his mouth\” and should stop trying to deliberately devalue someone and their ability to make a living.

  • Vickie Guerrero On Why She Prefers AEW Over WWE, Managing Nyla Rose

Vickie Guerrero was interviewed this week by Denise Salcedo for Instinct Culture. Vickie spoke about how she came to work for All Elite Wrestling, her time in WWE, how the two companies compare, working with The Undertaker, Vince McMahon, Nyla Rose and more.

Guerrero revealed that she got a text out of the blue from Brandi Rhodes asking if she wanted to do commentary on AEW Dark. She is an AEW fan and was following the product, so it was an easy yes\’ for her. After attending one AEW TV taping, she fell in love with how the company operates, the roster, the leadership and the atmosphere.

As for how AEW differs from WWE, Guerrero says Tony Khan is much more approachable than Vince McMahon and it\’s easier for talent to pitch ideas to management.

\”In WWE you kinda have to wait in line behind a closed door to get your turn to get your ideas in,\” she began. \”Tony Khan is in the hallway, people can go up to him and talk to him about the show. Tony calls me, I was like ‘oh my gosh he’s calling me.’ I never saw a lot of people in WWE calling the talent. It’s a relaxed atmosphere to where they let the superstar do the creative, the creative aspects for that night. And I just thought that was brilliant. There’s a lot of young people on the roster and I saw the advantage to be able to share my knowledge and experience with them and that was exciting to me because this is how it works, the industry starts with the next generation and if I can share my knowledge and experience with the women there and even the men, I\’ve gained something back and given back to them and that’s how we help each other out. So I love that part of it.\”

Several weeks ago, Nyla Rose teased that she had selected a new manager to guide her career. It was eventually revealed that Vickie Guerrero was the new advocate for the Native Beast. Vickie says Nyla is a \”badass woman\” whose style and strengths compliment her own.

\”Being the bad guy of course I want to team up with the biggest woman they have on there besides Kong… I get to work with Nyla Rose, get to know her and I loved her character. I loved her attitude, her personality. When they teamed us up, right away we took off with creative ideas and backstage content and t-shirt ideas and what are new hashtag was gonna be and I think she was kinda taken aback a little bit. But at the same time, I wanna show Nyla that I am one hundred percent in and I wanna show AEW that I am not here just because I am a Guerrero or because I am a General Manager. I am here because I want to be part of the team and I want to expand the women’s division and start running with it. I’ve had really good feedback, I am excited.\”

Vickie Guerrero sees big potential in AEW\’s women\’s division. She wants to see the women get more attention and more opportunities, but thinks they\’re off to a great start just one year into AEW\’s run.

  • Brandi Rhodes Reveals New Info on AEW\’s Deadly Draw Women\’s Tag Tournament

Brandi Rhodes has provided some new information about All Elite Wrestling\’s upcoming \’Deadly Draw\’ women\’s tag team tournament.

AEW\’s Chief Brand Officer spoke with Christy Olson this week for CHRISTYreports. Brandi discussed a wide variety of topics, including her role as an AEW executive, the #SpeakingOut movement addressing sexual misconduct in pro wrestling and much more.

Last week on Dynamite, AEW announced the Women\’s Tag Team Cup tournament is happening this summer. We know that 8 teams will be competing, but additional details have been hard to come by.

Brandi says that the full picture will become \”crystal clear\” this week on AEW Dynamite. She and Allie have been announced as the first two participants in the tournament, but Brandi reveals that they might not be teaming together as the Nightmare Sisters.

\”We’re going to explain how the teams come together and then you might see a team or two come together,\” said Brandi. \”There is the factor that [the Nightmare Sisters] could maybe not be together in the tournament, since that hasn’t been clear. So we will also see on Wednesday with the rules what that means for the Nightmare Sisters. I’m honestly hoping that we are together, because again, I feel like we’ve just gotten our footing so it would be kind of sad to tear us apart at this point.\”

As for whether or not this is a one-off tournament or not, Brandi is hopeful this will be the first of many.

\”I think that’s how you look at a lot of things. You try things, you see how they go. I, of course, am very hopeful that this tournament is something that can continue to happen as it’s going to bring great opportunities to a lot of women who don’t normally get to be seen on Dynamite or on AEW Dark as often as we’d like to.\”

\”There’s a limit to what I can handle of people sending me pictures of their genitalia. So I’m not open publicly to DMs anymore.\”

Sammy Guevara made a surprise return to All Elite Wrestling at the conclusion of this week\’s AEW Dynamite. It was his first appearance on AEW television in over a month. Guevara was suspended without pay on June 22nd when an inappropriate joke he made about Sasha Banks several years ago resurfaced.

AEW President Tony Khan spoke to Sports Illustrated this week about his decision to lift Guevara\’s suspension. The Spanish God underwent four weeks of extensive sensitivity training where he learned about tolerance, race relations and gender issues.

“Sammy was off television for a month and suspended without pay for 30 days. I think it was the right time for Sammy to come back because he’s shown that he’s very sorry and that he can change. He’s spent every day over the past month trying to prove that.”

In addition to undergoing vigorous sensitivity training, one month of Sammy Guevara’s salary was donated to the Women’s Center of Jacksonville.

Tony Khan feels Guevara did his best to turn around a bad situation by improve himself and making a positive impact in the Jacksonville community.

\”It\’s been a rough couple of days, and Taz and I have gone back and forth,\” Cage began. \”I\’ve considered relieving him of his duties, and wanted to immediately after the match. I\’ll wait and see how I feel after the weekend.

Regardless, I never tapped. I wasn\’t gonna tap. I only need one arm to drop mox on his head. I technically may no longer be undefeated, but I\’m still unbeaten. And more importantly, the answer to the question \”Who betta than Cage?\”, is still NOBODY!\”

AEW announcer Jim Ross had some interesting things to say about Brian Cage working with Taz. JR was critical of the FTW Championship storyline. He also feels Cage needs to show more personality on television. You can check out those comments below:

  • Billy Corgan Denies The NWA Is Shutting Down

NWA President Billy Corgan denies the promotion is shutting down.

The NWA has been on hiatus for several months due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The promotion was forced to overhaul its managerial structure when former NWA Vice President Dave Lagana was accused of sexual assault during the #SpeakingOut movement.

Wrestling legend Raven dropped a bombshell this week when he said the NWA was unlikely to return. \”Me and Billy get along really well but I think Billy’s shutting it down, from what I hear,\” Raven said during an interview. \”I heard it through the grapevine that Billy’s not opening it back up, he’s really disillusioned.\”

The NWA has built a passionate following since it relaunched, so this was very upsetting to

Billy Corgan posted the following statement on Instagram addressing the NWA\’s future. Corgan makes it clear: they are NOT shutting down and are not for sale.

Here\’s the official word from Corgan:

\”A quick note about the National Wrestling Alliance, which I fought for, and won ownership of a few years back. We are NOT shutting down. So please disregard any and all rumor to effect. The NWA is not and will not be for sale, and those talent who are under contract remain under contract for a reason: which is that are the NWA and are trying to figure out a way to provide our great fans with wrestling content in a very, very tough environment. And, most importantly, keep our talent safe and the standard of production you\’ve come to expect from us at a high level. Anything less, in my opinion, is unacceptable. So yes, appreciate the interest, appreciate the chatter, but don\’t appreciate the unsourced rumors and speculation.\”

  • Brian Cage On Why He Signed With AEW Instead of WWE, Says He Prefers Being A Babyface

Brian Cage was a major acquisition for All Elite Wrestling earlier this year. The 36-year-old grappler possesses a dangerous combination of power and agility rarely seen.

During a recent interview with TSN, \”The Machine\” explained why he signed with AEW instead of WWE. Cage cited better match-ups and a greater degree of creative freedom as the primary factors.

\”I think just overall, it was the cool, new thing that everybody wants to be a part of, obviously, but to be able to break through the reach I’d already done – the Ring of Honor crowd, the Impact crowd, and so on,\” he began. \”I felt like I needed to go to a bigger, national scene like an AEW. And another big thing was AEW had the most unique, cooler matches, if you will, and all of them would be first-time ever matches, whereas everywhere else would have been repeats and not as exciting.\”

Brian Cage knows the money and promotional machine that WWE offers. However, he knew that he would have far less input on his character and storylines if he had signed with Vince McMahon.

\”I were to go to WWE, I wouldn’t have as much creative control,\” Cage continued. \”That, artistically speaking, was a big reason why. I’m going to go to a place where I can showcase my abilities and have the most fun, intriguing matches and I had more personal desire to go to AEW than anywhere else.”

Cage is now aligned with ECW legend Taz as his \’coach\’ and mouthpiece. Cage knew Taz had developed into a top-tier broadcaster in recent years, but was amazed when Taz started cutting promos for him.

\”I knew he was a great commentator and he could cut promos, but I didn’t really think of him as a promo guy,\” Cage said of Taz. \”That’s not the first thing that jumps out at you. But dude, he can kill it on the promos!\”

Cage also mentioned that he prefers working as a babyface, which goes against the grain of what most wrestlers say. \”I think it’s more so because if you think of bigger heels, they often get painted in these big bully meathead roles. I just think that’s very one-dimensional and a little meh – a little vanilla to me. I’d much rather get over as a face and then turn heel.”

  • Chris Jericho Challenges Sebastian Bach To Sing-Off After Allegation Of Lip Syncing

AEW star Chris Jericho and rock legend Sebastian Bach got into a heated altercation on social media late Wednesday night.

It all began when Twitter user @TravisDrago pointed out that Chris Jericho is starting to look like the Skid Row frontman. Bach says he hears the Jericho comparison \”every single day.\” When another Twitter user says Jericho is the superior rocker, Bach called out Jericho for \”miming to a tape\” instead of performing live like he\’s been doing since the 1980\’s.

Bach doubled down on his dig at Chris Jericho, calling him \”Milli Vanilli\” for lip syncing at shows. This got the attention of Le Champion, who touted that his band Fozzy has had more success on the Billboard charts than Skid Row.

Jericho says that he considered Sebastian Bach a friend until this Twitter spat. He then challenged Bach to a sing-off. \”No effects, no tuning, no bullshit. He\’s a great singer, but I\’m better. You\’ve got my number dude. Call me.\”

Bach said he wasn\’t being derogatory by stating that Jericho lip syncs. He accepted Jericho\’s sing-off challenge:

\”I will sing in your f******* face anytime. Wrestling is not rock and roll. I will show you f****** rock and roll.\”

Jericho\’s bandmate, guitarist Rich Ward, says Chris is the first one to defend Sebastian Bach when other people talk trash about him.

Chris Jericho claims to be the better singer, but he might have Sebastian Bach to thank for that. In this 2011 video for Revolver, Jericho receives a singing lesson from none other than Bach himself.

  • Tony Khan Updates AEW Suspensions of Sammy Guevara & Jimmy Havoc

AEW President Tony Khan is doing the media rounds to promote Wednesday\’s Fight for the Fallen edition of AEW Dynamite on TNT. The benefit show is raising money for Florida-based COVID-19 relief efforts.

During a discussion with the New York Post, Khan spoke about AEW suspending Sammy Guevara and Jimmy Havoc. He revealed that it was his decision to suspend both men, whose respective situations were different but both needed to be addressed.

Jimmy Havoc approached AEW management and informed them he needed help. Khan says Jimmy \’really needed\’ the treatment he is getting. \”If and when he were to wrestle again, the most important thing for himself and everybody here is that he sought treatment and counseling.\”

Regarding Sammy Guevara, Khan felt it was necessary to suspend him when an inappropriate joke he made about WWE wrestler Sasha Banks resurfaced. Khan says the recent controversy was the first time he heard the \”horrible\” comments.

\”The comments he made were horrible,\” said Khan. \”I can’t defend them. I can’t even comment on them because they’re unspeakably bad. He has also done a different kind of counseling and he’s in a different kind of counseling and it’s a different kind of coaching. Everybody here, male and female pretty much up and down the roster we talked to felt like Sammy had no history of this kind of behavior. Really people were shocked Sammy had said that.\”

Guevara is undergoing sensitivity training during his suspension. His AEW pay is being donated to a Jacksonville-based women\’s non-profit.

  • Kenny Omega Wants AEW\’s Video Game To Be Simplified & Fast-Paced

Kenny Omega has provided new information about the upcoming AEW video game. The AEW Executive VP is involved in the game\’s development, as is AEW referee Aubrey Edwards.

During a recent interview with CBR.com, Omega provided some insight about what he is hoping to achieve with the project. His main priority is capturing the \’fun factor\’ that longtime fans remember from games like WWF WrestleFest, WWF No Mercy, WrestleMania 2000 and the Virtual Pro Wrestling series.

\”For me, I believe there needs to be a sense of being in the ring, that you’re controlling your favorite wrestler or controlling your create-a-character,\” he said. WWE\’s 2K series has utilized a slower-paced \’simulation\’ style of presentation. Omega is looking to achieve an arcade wrestling feel that is easy to pick up and play whether you\’re a first-time player or a veteran.

I want a very simplified system that allows for pick up and playability. However, I want the moves and the structure of the game to be so crisp and the potential for it to be deep, to the point where you can have a match that actually resembles something of a pro wrestling match where the moves look the way they should, the characters move the way they should.\”

He continued, \”At the end of the day, a game needs to be fun. I want a game where I can take my favorite character and do all of his moves and decimate my opponents. But I want to be able to call over a friend that never games and with a very simple explanation, I want him to be able to pick up a controller and be able to feel like he’s in control of his movements and his destiny as well.\”

Omega says the game is still in a \”very preliminary phase,\” which is what we\’ve heard from Cody Rhodes, Aubrey Edwards and others who have commented on the AEW video game. That said, Omega teased, \”We’re working at such an incredible pace right now. I think maybe we’ll have something to show sooner than what people would expect.\”

AEW has stated their intention to document the development in the game in a manner similar to the \”Road To…\” videos that hype their big live wrestling events.
