Charlotte Flair Reveals How Much Her WWE WrestleMania 41 Robe Actually Cost

Charlotte Flair has revealed she spent nearly $15,000 on her WrestleMania 41 robe, while explaining that her typical ringside attire runs a couple of thousand dollars per piece.

Speaking to Ringer Wrestling, Flair broke down the cost behind her elaborate wardrobe.

“My WrestleMania robe last year, I think it almost was like 15 grand by the time it was done. Every single one is not that price, but they are a couple thousands of dollars. They vary. Part of it too is like you got to ship it to this person and to that person because one person stones it, one person does the feathers.”

Flair has worn hundreds of robes throughout her career, regularly debuting new ones for individual shows.

Tiffany Stratton Almost Had A Very Different WWE Name

Tiffany Stratton revealed on a Twitch stream that WWE almost named her Veronica Swanson, and that she personally considered going by Darby so she could be nicknamed the Darby Doll.

“So, it was between Tiffany Stratton or Veronica Swanson. Do you guys think I look like a Veronica? Veronica Swanson. But the name I would like, I actually thought about this a long time ago and I’m like, ‘Why didn’t I put it down?’ I thought about doing the name Darby, so I could be called the Darby Doll, but I don’t think they would have gone for that. I’m really happy with Tiffany Stratton. It’s my mom’s name, I like the name Tiffany a lot.”

Stratton also described a scary moment from a SmackDown match a couple of months ago when a moonsault went wrong.

“So there was a bump that I actually did to myself, it wasn’t from someone else. It was a backflip, it was a moonsault off the top to the floor. I don’t remember who it was against but I did a moonsault and I was flipping way too fast and my head whipped, my head hit the ground really hard and I blacked out for a second. I didn’t know where I was.”

She also named her dream triple threat match as a bout against Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY.

  • Nikki Bella Provides Injury Update

    Nikki Bella Provides Injury Update

Nikki Bella says she is hoping for a return to WWE by the end of June following the ankle injury she suffered during a SmackDown match in March, but has acknowledged that she will not know more until doctors re-examine her next month.

Speaking to USA Today, Bella described the conversation with her medical team.

“(The medical team says) ‘not until I see what your ankle looks like in June,’ and I’m like, ‘But if you were to just guess,’ and they’re like, ‘Don’t know, not until June.’”

She expressed optimism about a late June return while cautioning herself against rushing back.

“I’m hoping, for me in my head, end of June would be incredible, but I also don’t want to go back too early, because you know the big part about when people get reinjured is because their strength isn’t matching, so I need to make sure the calves, the quads, glutes, I need to make sure they’re all built up.”

Bella was injured during a March 27 SmackDown match in which she and Brie Bella defeated Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair. She was unable to compete at WrestleMania 42, where Brie and Paige won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. A return at the end of June would line up with WWE Night of Champions on June 27 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She underwent surgery for it shortly before WrestleMania.

Injured AEW Star Admits In-Ring Return Is Unlikely

Kota Ibushi says an in-ring return is unlikely following a broken femur suffered in 2025, and has announced plans to channel his energy into saving a historic Tokyo wrestling venue from closing.

Ibushi posted a video on Instagram during his recovery, addressing fans and outlining his new mission on his 44th birthday.

“Thank you all so much for everything up until now. I’m Kota Ibushi, a professional wrestler who has been active for 22 years. I was able to fulfill many dreams in the world of professional wrestling and I truly had a wonderful life as a wrestler. I am currently sidelined due to a right leg injury sustained last November. To be honest, a comeback seems unlikely for now.”

He described the closure of Shinjuku FACE as a crisis for the wrestling industry.

“The professional wrestling world is currently facing a serious crisis: Shinjuku FACE is closing down. This venue, where I’ve had many matches, is a place that professional wrestling organizations have been grateful to. In particular, it was the perfect venue for independent wrestling promotions to hold regular shows. I believe that the disappearance of such venues is equivalent to a crisis for the culture of professional wrestling.”

Ibushi said he plans to take on outside work to fund building a new venue.

“Therefore, Kota Ibushi will put his body on the line. I’m putting my body on the line to earn money. I am going to build a pro wrestling venue. So, please cooperate with me. Please give me work, no matter how small the project may be. My leg isn’t fully recovered, so I can’t play the match, but I’ll manage to get through everything else with sheer willpower. And with the money they earn, I’ll build a professional wrestling venue. I don’t care how long it takes. I want to give back to the professional wrestling world in the end.”

Dean Malenko’s Daughter Marie Malenko Signs With WWE

WWE has announced four new Performance Center signees, headlined by Marie Malenko, daughter of AEW producer Dean Malenko, who joins under the ring name Lacey Simon.

Malenko attended a WWE tryout earlier this year and has already gained international experience, having competed in Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH prior to signing.

Mason Rook’s signing was largely a formality given his existing NXT presence. The heavyweight from the United Kingdom has already made his mark on television, teaming with Kam Hendrix to defeat NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo and North American Champion Myles Borne before turning on his partner by laying him out after Hendrix stole the pin. John Cena has publicly reacted to Rook’s NXT segments on social media on multiple occasions. Rook has also competed for NOAH.

Nicole Martinez signs under her indie name Nikki Blackheart, having worked a dark match at Tuesday’s NXT taping. She was said to have been heavily on WWE’s radar prior to her tryout. Marcus Brown is a former bodybuilder entering professional wrestling after a WWE tryout in 2025.

The full signing class consists of Mason Rook, Nicole Martinez, Marie Malenko, and Marcus Brown.

Former Superstar Believed To Be Signed Or About To Sign With WWE

Baron Corbin appears to be on the verge of a WWE return, with industry sources telling Fightful Select that he is either already signed or will be imminently.

Fightful Select has learned that Corbin has finished up his obligations with companies he had been working with regularly, including MLW, where he had been teaming with Donovan Dijak as the Skyscrapers. Those spoken to within the industry believe a WWE deal is essentially done.

Dave Meltzer first reported last weekend that he had heard of the possibility of Corbin returning to WWE. Fightful Select subsequently reported that the return had been internally discussed and rumored within the company in recent weeks.

Corbin, who also worked under the name Bishop Dyer following his WWE departure, spent years on the main roster as a multi-time Intercontinental and United States Champion before his release. No official announcement has been made.

Former WWE Star To Wrestle Final Match This Weekend

Michael Tarver will compete in his final professional wrestling match on Saturday, May 23 against Kno at an Extreme Fight World event, bringing a career to a close that began in 2005 and included a nationally televised WWE run.

Tarver is best known for his role as a member of the Nexus in 2010 — the faction that debuted at WWE Raw in one of the most shocking moments of that era when they dismantled John Cena and attacked ring crew, commentators, and referees. Tarver was among those drafted from the first season of WWE NXT to form the group. He was released by WWE in June 2011.

Before his WWE run, Tarver had been competing on the independent circuit since 2005, working promotions across Ohio and the Northeast under various names including Tyrone Evans and Tyson Tarver. He appeared as one of Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s bodyguards at WrestleMania XXIV before signing with Florida Championship Wrestling and eventually making the main roster.

After leaving WWE, Tarver continued competing in the NWA and made appearances for New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Chikara. He became a two-time NWA FUW Heavyweight Champion and two-time CWE Heavyweight Champion. He stepped back from full-time competition in 2019 and last wrestled in 2021.

In 2025, Tarver suffered a stroke. He has since pursued music and will premiere a new song titled STOMP on May 29.

The Buy In airs for free on YouTube one hour before Double Or Nothing, which starts at 8 PM ET. Past Buy In hosts have included Paquette, RJ City, and Jeff Jarrett.

Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated previously reported that AEW had expressed real interest in working with Foley. Foley’s WWE Legends deal expired this month, opening the door for outside appearances.

MJF Says Bret Hart Is ‘Punch Drunk,’ Calls Him One Of The Greatest Wrestlers Of All Time

MJF offered a backhanded tribute to Bret Hart during his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, calling him one of the greatest wrestlers of all time while stating the Hall of Famer may be “punch drunk” from his career-ending concussion suffered at the hands of Goldberg.

“I don’t have a beef with Bret Hart. I cut an incredible promo on Bret Hart in the very first Double or Nothing, which — full circle — Double or Nothing’s happening this Sunday, May 24th. See how fcking good I am? I’ve got no beef. I just think, look man, this dude got rocked by Goldberg to the point where he had to retire. He’s saying crazy s** all the time and 99% of the time it doesn’t make sense. I just think homie’s punch drunk and like, God bless him. He should be. He’s one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.”

MJF did not stop there, using the moment to make a clear declaration about where Hart ranks relative to Shawn Michaels.

“He’s no Shawn Michaels, but he’s one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. I have no reason to pretend Shawn Michaels isn’t better than Bret Hart because he’s like the WWE NXT guy. But I’m just not going to sit here and do that. He was the better talker, he was more athletic in the ring, was the better wrestler, he was more exciting, he drew you in more.”

“Bret was good at a time period where he was able to get away with being this incredible work-rate guy. His promos were good, but they weren’t f****** like ‘WHOA!’ Did you ever go to school and go, ‘Did you hear that Bret Hart promo?’”

MJF challenges Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship at Double Or Nothing this Sunday in a hair vs. title match.

  • Former WWE Star Spotted At Performance Center

Former WWE Star Spotted At Performance Center

Enzo Amore was recently at the WWE Performance Center, including the day before this week’s NXT broadcast on the CW Network, according to False Finish.

Amore was suspended and then released by WWE in January 2018 following sexual assault allegations. No charges were filed in the case. A representative for the Phoenix Police Department stated at the time that the case had been investigated to its fullest extent and closed, though noted it could be reopened if new evidence emerged.

The report immediately drew attention, given the timing. Fightful Select reported in April that Big Bill’s AEW contract was believed to be expiring at the end of May or the start of June.

Big Bill, who worked alongside Amore in WWE as Big Cass, has not appeared on AEW television since a February parking lot street fight on Collision and has had just two AEW matches in 2026. No updates on contract negotiations or a potential re-signing have emerged.

With Amore believed to be a free agent and Big Bill potentially returning to the market shortly, speculation has grown about the possibility of the former tag team reuniting in WWE.

No official announcement has been made by WWE regarding either man.

John Cena And Eric Andre’s Netflix Movie ‘Little Brother’ Gets Its First Trailer

John Cena has shared the first trailer for his upcoming Netflix film Little Brother, which also stars Eric Andre and premieres June 26.

Cena posted the trailer on social media alongside a message about the project.

The film follows a famous real estate agent, played by Cena, whose carefully curated world is upended when his eccentric little brother, played by Andre, unexpectedly reappears in his life.

Little Brother is directed by Matt Spicer, who previously directed Ingrid Goes West, and written by Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel, the filmmakers behind The D-Train.

MJF Wants Kofi Kingston And Austin Creed In AEW: ‘They Are Both Crazy Talented, Massive Stars’

MJF says Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed would be “incredible additions” to the AEW roster and made clear he wants to see them in the promotion as soon as they are legally able to appear.

Speaking to Ariel Helwani ahead of AEW Double Or Nothing, MJF was asked directly about the possibility of New Day coming to AEW.

“Yeah, absolutely. I don’t know what their contract situation is, but whenever they are legally allowed to come over, I think those are guys that would be incredible additions to the AEW roster. They are both crazy talented, massive stars, and guys who know their worth, which to me is the most impressive thing.”

MJF was the first AEW name to publicly react when New Day’s WWE departure was announced on May 2, with several others in the company also making reference to the duo leaving. Kingston and Creed confirmed their WWE exit on May 4 and will be going by Kofi and Austin Creed going forward.

Fightful Select has reported that every AEW source it spoke to about the duo is pushing the company to sign them, including some notable names within the promotion.

Former WWE Stars Spotted Backstage At ROH TV Tapings

At least two names connected to WWE in recent years were backstage at this week’s Ring of Honor tapings in Florida, according to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp.

Carlito was reportedly visiting because his cousins, Epico and Primo, were competing during the tapings. Despite a lengthy wrestling career spanning multiple promotions,

Carlito has never wrestled for AEW or Ring of Honor. He had been part of WWE programming before quietly disappearing from television.

Bobby Steveson was also backstage, though Fightful noted he did not compete at the tapings and was working at the show in some capacity. Steveson previously wrestled in WWE NXT under the Damon Kemp name before his departure from the company, and has only wrestled sporadically in the two years since.

No indication exists that either Carlito or Steveson is signing with AEW or ROH.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Match Is Now Listed As Title Bout

WWE has upgraded Becky Lynch vs. Sol Ruca to a Women’s Intercontinental Championship match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 23, reversing the non-title stipulation announced on Monday’s Raw.

WWE posted on Instagram confirming the change, writing that Lynch will put the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line against Ruca. The promotional poster also lists the bout as a title match.

The bout was originally set up on Raw when Lynch offered Ruca a match at Saturday Night’s Main Event after Ruca called her out. When Ruca attempted to make it a title fight on the spot, Lynch declined. WWE has since changed course.

The full Saturday Night’s Main Event lineup for May 23 is as follows:

Chelsea Green Fires Back At Critics Over UFC White House Fan Fest Appearance

Chelsea Green says attending the UFC Freedom 250 Fan Fest and advocating for human rights are not mutually exclusive, pushing back at fans who criticized her inclusion in the event.

WWE announced this week that Green is among several wrestlers set to appear at meet and greets during the fan fest in Washington, D.C. on June 13-14. Green has publicly supported trans rights and other causes that do not align with the current administration, prompting criticism from fans who accused her of prioritizing money over her values.

Green responded directly on social media.

“Doing my job and supporting the community are not mutually exclusive. I’ll continue to do what I can to advocate for human rights whether you approve or not.”

Green is one of WWE’s most frequently used talents for public and media appearances. She faced similar backlash last year after speaking positively about Hulk Hogan on the day of his death without addressing his racism controversy, a situation that led to her taking a social media break due to name calling and death threats.

Other WWE names announced for the UFC Freedom 250 Fan Fest include Charlotte Flair, The Miz, Trick Williams, The Usos, Tiffany Stratton, and Bron Breakker. The fan fest takes place at The Ellipse just outside the White House, with the June 14 fights on the South Lawn. Activities include a ceremonial weigh-in, live shows with UFC fighters, celebrity appearances, and a concert by Zac Brown Band.

  • Triple H And Nick Khan Explained To WWE Talent Why House Shows Are Coming Back This Summer

Triple H And Nick Khan Explained To WWE Talent Why House Shows Are Coming Back This Summer

Triple H and Nick Khan told WWE talent during a town hall meeting that house shows are returning this summer not only to give younger wrestlers more ring time, but also to serve as a testing ground for new ideas in front of live crowds, according to PWInsider.

The meeting provided internal context for the recently announced WWE Summer Tour, which begins July 11 in New Mexico and spans stops in Pennsylvania, California, Illinois, Virginia, New Hampshire, Georgia, and South Carolina.

Both Triple H and Nick Khan emphasized that the shows would feature a balance of younger talent gaining experience alongside established main roster stars and that injury prevention would be a priority in how the events are structured.

When Endeavor purchased WWE in 2023, one of the early changes was a significant reduction in the house show schedule. While non-televised events continued on a limited basis, the cutback reduced the number of matches wrestlers compete in per year. The summer tour represents a notable reversal of that trend.

Dave Meltzer previously reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the decision was driven by the influx of younger talent on the roster who need more in-ring reps before live crowds.

  • MJF On CM Punk: ‘A Piece Of Sh*t, But A Great Wrestler’

MJF On CM Punk: ‘A Piece Of Sh*t, But A Great Wrestler’

MJF has weighed in on CM Punk’s current WWE run during his appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, telling fans that Punk’s professional wrestling ability has never been in dispute, but his read on Punk as a person has not changed.

Punk and MJF had a multi-month feud in AEW before Punk was released from AEW after the All In 2023 backstage altercation with Jack Perry.  Punk returned to WWE at the November 2023 Survivor Series and is currently a top star on Raw, having lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42 before going off TV for what has been reported as a scheduling change.

Asked whether he was surprised by how well Punk has been doing in WWE, MJF said the answer was no but he had not softened his personal read.

“No I’m not surprised at how good he’s doing, doesn’t change the fact he’s a fcking cnt. He just sucks, a bad guy, but he’s an incredible professional wrestler. How many times do I have to repeat myself, he’s a piece of sh*t, but he’s a great wrestler.”

The CM Punk reference in this Helwani interview lands during MJF’s Title vs Hair main event week against Darby Allin at AEW Double or Nothing on Sunday at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Flushing, NY.

MJF Praises Tony Khan As ‘One Of The Best Minds In Wrestling’ And ‘Incredible Leader’

MJF says Tony Khan has evolved into one of the best minds in professional wrestling and an incredible leader, offering praise for the AEW founder ahead of Double Or Nothing this Sunday.

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show to promote AEW Double Or Nothing 2026, MJF opened by addressing Khan’s November 2025 interview with Helwani, which marked a shift in how the AEW president engages with media that has historically been unfavorable to the company.

“No interview is ever going to be as good when I’m not in the room. But for an interview that didn’t have me in it, it was a good watch. And I also think it showed the evolution, frankly, of my boss as an interviewee. I think he faces questions head-on. I think that he took all your questions on the chin and answered them in a very professional manner. I think he continues to be incredibly professional, even when bullsh*t is happening around him and lies are being spread. So, yeah, I’m happy for him.”

MJF kept largely in character throughout the interview but stepped out of it to offer a more sincere assessment of Khan as a leader.

“Do I love the guy? No. But I love money. And I also love seeing my company do well, and we’re white hot right now. Now, is that all because of me? There’s an argument to be made there. But I also am willing to say that Tony Khan — in case you’re unaware, he’s a billionaire — and for him to be a billionaire and to decide to, with his money and his time, when he could be sticking with the futbol thing or the other football thing, he decided to start a professional wrestling company because he’s so passionate about professional wrestling and he loves professional wrestling. And he’s become one of the best minds in wrestling, man. And he’s been a great leader. You can talk all of the sh*t you want about him. Why? I don’t know. Because he gave you an alternative so you wouldn’t only be eating one type of food. You have options now. I don’t know why anybody would be mad about options.”

“I think he’s become an incredible leader too, man. He always was, but I just think he is really, really just — as we all do, we level up, we evolve as we age.”

MJF challenges Darby Allin for the AEW World Championship at Double Or Nothing this Sunday in a hair vs. title match where MJF must shave his head if he loses. It would be his third world title reign if he wins.

Paige Had The Perfect Response To Her Critics After WWE Raw Title Defense

Paige fired back at an online troll who predicted she would rarely defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships following her WrestleMania 42 return, responding with a simple “Now what?” after retaining the titles on Monday’s Raw.

The troll had claimed Paige was only brought back for clout and would seldom put the championships on the line. Since winning the titles alongside Brie Bella at WrestleMania 42 Night One, the duo — known as Team Scream Mode — have remained active champions.

On Monday’s Raw, Paige and Brie defended against Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez, with Liv Morgan at ringside. Referee Jessika Carr ejected Morgan for attempted interference late in the match.

Rodriguez then slipped Perez a championship belt while the referee was distracted, but Brie avoided the attack and quickly rolled Perez up for the pinfall to retain.

  • Brock Lesnar Officially Unretired, Oba Femi Rematch Set For Clash In Italy

Brock Lesnar Officially Unretired, Oba Femi Rematch Set For Clash In Italy

Brock Lesnar is officially out of retirement. The Beast Incarnate returned during Monday’s Raw in Greensboro, ambushed Oba Femi during his open challenge segment, and the night closed with WWE putting a rematch on paper for Clash in Italy.

Lesnar’s WrestleMania 42 loss to Femi had been treated as a career-ending moment. After dropping the opener on Night Two at Allegiant Stadium, he removed his gloves and boots and left them in the ring, the universally recognized goodbye in pro wrestling. He had not been seen on WWE television in the month since.

That story changed in a hurry. As Femi entered the ring for his open challenge, Lesnar attacked him from behind and connected with four F5s before WWE cut backstage.

    Heyman Hands Pearce The Contract

Adam Pearce told Paul Heyman that he had already filed Lesnar’s retirement paperwork after WrestleMania 42. Heyman responded by sliding a fresh contract across the desk, calling it the “biggest rematch” in WWE history and locking in Lesnar vs. Femi for Clash in Italy on May 31 at the Inalpi Arena in Turin.

The reversal flips a story Heyman himself had publicly endorsed. He claimed last month that he had no idea Lesnar was going to retire at WrestleMania, and Lesnar’s WWE.com profile was quietly moved to the alumni section after the show.

The booking also resolves a creative problem WWE had been working around. Last week’s Raw saw Pearce cancel Femi’s open challenge entirely after nobody in the locker room was willing to step up. Lesnar answering it himself gives Femi the only credible opponent the angle could realistically produce.

Clash In Italy Card Takes Shape

Lesnar vs. Femi joins Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther for the Undisputed WWE Championship on the Clash in Italy card. That title match was arranged through the long-teased favor Heyman owed the Ring General.

Clash in Italy is WWE’s first ever Premium Live Event on Italian soil, taking place Sunday, May 31 at the Inalpi Arena in Turin. The show streams live on Peacock.

New Matches Set For WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Two matches have been added to Saturday Night’s Main Event, with Becky Lynch vs. Sol Ruca and a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match both confirmed for the May 23 card.

On Monday’s Raw, Lynch interrupted a Sol Ruca interview and pointed out that Ruca has not picked up a win since arriving on the main roster. Ruca headed to the ring and called Lynch out, challenging her to a match on the spot. Lynch countered by offering Saturday Night’s Main Event instead. Ruca attempted to make it a Women’s Intercontinental Championship match, but Lynch declined, keeping the bout a non-title contest.

Ruca debuted on the main roster following WrestleMania 42, falling in her debut against Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan due to interference from her former NXT tag team partner Zaria. She came up short again last week, losing to IYO SKY when Sky reversed the Sol Snatcher into a crucifix pin.

Women’s Tag Team Champions Brie Bella and Paige will also defend their titles against Nia Jax and Lash Legend.

The full Saturday Night’s Main Event lineup is as follows:

    • WWE Intercontinental Championship: Penta (c) vs. Ethan Page
    • WWE World Tag Team Championship: The Vision (c) vs. The Street Profits
    • WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Brie Bella and Paige (c) vs. Nia Jax and Lash Legend
    • Non-Title: Becky Lynch vs. Sol Ruca
    • Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss vs. Jade Cargill, B-Fab, and Michin

Chris Jericho Responds To WWE Rumors From His Free Agency

Chris Jericho addressed speculation about his free agency before returning to AEW in April, stopping short of directly denying talks with WWE while making clear that his focus is on those who want to be entertained.

Speaking with David Shoemaker on Ringer Wrestling, Jericho was asked about reports of potential talks with WWE during his time as a free agent.

“The interesting thing about fans — going back to what we said earlier about having a career where you can watch anything online — is that fans in this day and age, they form their own opinions and then it becomes law because the opinions spread. Whatever people believed or didn’t believe, I was not ever a part of any of it. I think the best part was there was so much speculation of what is he going to do that either way, with the tribalism of wrestling nowadays, there’d be people happy about it and not happy about it. This is the worst thing ever and this is the best thing ever. I’ve never really focused on that side of like, this is terrible and it’s never going to work. To me, anything can work and you always want to do your best to make it work. I focus on the people who are excited about things and the people who want to be entertained and want to be happy and want to have fun. That’s kind of the crowd that I focus on.”

He then closed the door on giving a more direct answer.

“I’ll leave that for another day. I like the idea of the intrigue.”

Jericho returned to AEW in April after an extended absence that fueled speculation about his future. He competes this Sunday at AEW Double Or Nothing in New York City in a Stadium Stampede match.

LA Knight’s absence from WWE television is not the result of any serious backstage issue, according to Fightful Select, with people within WWE describing the situation as a “non-story.”

Knight had appeared to be moving toward a program with Gunther before WrestleMania, but plans shifted when Gunther moved to SmackDown and began targeting Cody Rhodes instead. Fightful reports that Knight’s absence is not connected to an injury, contract dispute, recent WWE releases, or any pay-related issue.

The report noted that WWE creative changed rapidly for several wrestlers coming out of WrestleMania, with multiple directions adjusted internally in a short period of time. Fightful added that they are continuing to gather more information on which talents specifically had plans changed following WrestleMania and what shifted behind the scenes.

No return timeline for Knight has been indicated. He remains one of WWE’s most popular performers despite the absence, something many fans pointed out in the replies to the report.

Chris Jericho Explains Why He Dropped His First Name In AEW

Chris Jericho says dropping his first name in AEW was inspired by self-titled albums from bands like Metallica and The Beatles, and that the ambiguity it created online was entirely intentional.

Speaking to Ringer Wrestling, Jericho explained the thinking behind going simply by “Jericho” since returning to AEW at the start of April.

“I like the idea of what I’m doing now with ‘Jericho.’ And by not using that first name a lot, it created this whole intrigue online like, ‘What’s he doing? What’s the idea? What’s the reason?’ And honestly, it’s like a self-titled album. That’s where I kind of got the idea from.”

He said the name alone carries enough weight to make additional branding unnecessary.

“I could create a dozen other nicknames, but how many more do I need? Everyone knows who Jericho is. And when you hear that name, then you can go remember whatever memories you have on your own. So it really is like Metallica, ‘The Black Album.’ It doesn’t need to be called anything. You know who Metallica is, you know what’s going on. The Beatles, ‘The White Album,’ same thing. That’s kind of what the idea is for the ‘Jericho’ era. And I like it. I like what’s been going on and going with the flow and seeing what’s working and what’s not.”

Jericho also addressed the persistent rumors that he was heading back to WWE before his AEW return, stopping short of giving a direct answer but saying he enjoyed how fans ran with the speculation.

“I never said the rumors became fact, I said that the rumors became fact to the fans. But I’ll leave that for another day. I like the idea of the intrigue.”

Jericho competes this Sunday at AEW Double Or Nothing in New York City in a Stadium Stampede match. He teams with Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, and Kenny Omega against Ricochet, The Gates of Agony, Mark Davis, Andrade El Idolo, Clark Connors, and David Finlay.
