  • Original Plans For Cleopatra’s Golden Egg Storyline At WWE Survivor Series

WWE didn’t originally plan on having Austin Theory challenge Big E for the WWE Title on last Monday’s Raw as part of the storyline with Cleopatra’s golden egg, valued at $100 million.

WWE started the storyline at Survivor Series where someone stole Cleopatra’s golden egg from the desk of Vince McMahon. The egg was used in The Rock‘s recent “Red Notice” movie on Netflix.

McMahon stated in the storyline that he personally received the egg from The Rock, which was a way to promote the movie. After it was stolen, McMahon stated the person who could find the egg would get a WWE Title shot. Theory gave it back and lost to Big E on Raw.

Fightful Select reports the original idea for the golden egg storyline was “much worse with the stakes much lower.” One of the pitches included some sort of integration with the WWE 24/7 Title. People who are associated with the movie said that this wouldn’t suffice for the tie-in, so they ended up involving Big E and the WWE Title.

McMahon being involved in the storyline wasn’t originally planned, but he was added as a make-good to add more importance to the “Red Notice” angle.

  • Alexa Bliss Posts Cryptic Response To Fan Regarding Her WWE Status

It’s looking like Alexa Bliss won’t be back in action before the end of this year.

Bliss responded to a fan who was asking her when she will return to the ring. She wrote, “Need time to heal” in addition to a black heart emoji. The message implies that she’s not ready to return to the ring.

Back in September at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, she was written off television. At the time, it was reported that she was scheduled to undergo sinus surgery with no timeframe for her return known.

Her last match came against Charlotte Flair. Before she took time off, WWE did give out some hints that Bliss might revert to her previous character before she aligned with Bray Wyatt.

However, since that time, there have been no hints of Bliss returning anytime soon. With the Royal Rumble taking place at the beginning of the new year, it’s possible WWE wants to wait to bring her back until then as a surprise in the women’s Royal Rumble match, which would get a big reaction in front of a large crowd.

  • WWE NXT 2.0 Results (11/23): Title Match, Tommaso Ciampa In Action

The November 23, 2021 episode of WWE NXT 2.0 aired live on the USA Network from Orlando, Florida at the Capitol Wrestling Center.

    WWE NXT 2.0 Results

    • Tommaso Ciampa def. Grayson Waller.
    • Kayden Carter & Kacy Catanzaro def. Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta.
    • Santos Escobar (w/Legado del Fantasma) def. Malik Blade.
    • Cora Jade def. Mandy Rose.

    • Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen def. Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson).
    • NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes def. Johnny Gargano and Pete Dunne to retain

Here are the takeaways from this week’s show:

    Tommaso Ciampa vs. Grayson Waller

    \"\"

NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa vs. Grayson Waller in a non-title bout was booked.

This opened the show with Ciampa beating him down for the most part while Waller got in some moments. Ciampa made his comeback as Waller went for the People’s Elbow. Cimapa clotheslined him to the floor to send us to break.

Ciampa ended up winning the match with his finisher. A lot of people could say Waller got way too much offense, but for just a fun match, it delivered.

    Mandy Rose vs. Cora Jade

    \"\"

NXT Women\’s Champion Mandy Rose was in action against Cora Jade in a non-title match.

Both stars were part of the final segment of last week’s show that led to  Jade, Io Shirai and Raquel Gonzalez challenging Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne and Dakota Kai to a WarGames match on Sunday, December 5.

Rose was in control of the majority of the match until Kay Lee Ray came out to distract Rose, which led to Jade pinning her.

    Tag Team Match

    \"\"

Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter vs. Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta were featured in a tag team match.

The match was made official this past Saturday. WWE kept this one very short and they didn’t have much time to tell any story. Kacy did hit a tag team splash at one point. Kacy pinned Indie after a splash off the top rope.

    Triple Threat Match

    \"\"

NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes vs. Pete Dunne vs. Johnny Gargano in a triple threat match took place.

The match was set up last week when Hayes proposed the title match after Gargano and Dunne both emerged as contenders. This marked Hayes\’ first since winning the North American Championship from Isaiah \”Swerve\” Scott last month.

Dunne defeated Hayes in a non-title match two weeks ago after involvement by Gargano and Dexter Lumis leading to Hayes\’ loss. Last week, Lumis lost to Tony D\’Angelo and was then attacked by Hayes and Trick Williams after the match. This led to Gargano running out to make the save.

The match was saved for the main event and what a match it was. Dune nearly pinned Gargano until Tony D’Angelo came out and tossed him into the steps. Hayes with the leg drop off the top rope to Gargano to retain.

Post-match, Waller and LA Knight came out while they were still brawling. Ciampa came out and so did Bron Breakker, who said WarGames.  The show went off the air with a brawl.

  • WWE NXT War Games Updated Card: Four Matches Announced

On Tuesday\’s episode of NXT 2.0, a few new matches were announced for the upcoming WWE NXT WarGames event on Sunday, December 5, 2021 in Orlando, Florida at the Capitol Wrestling Center.

NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong vs. Joe Gacy, Duke Hudson vs. Cameron Grimes in a Hair vs. Hair Match, Imperium defending the NXT Tag Team Titles against unknown opponents, and Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller, Pete Dunne, & Tony D’Angelo vs. Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, & LA Knight in a War Games were confirmed.

The men’s WarGames match was added after a brawl in the main event.

Last week, there was a poker game between Hudson and Grimes which saw Grimes bluff his way to victory. When Hudson realized that he should’ve won if he hadn’t folded, he attacked Grimes and then cut some of his hair.

On this week’s show, Grimes came out to the ring to cut a promo about how much having long hair meant to him as he kept growing it when he was struggling on the independents. He challenged Hudson to a hair vs. hair match at this show. Hudson said that he wouldn’t mind taking some more hair from Grimes and accepted it.

As for the NXT Tag Team Title bout, there was a segment on the show where Legado Del Fantasma\’s Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza came face-to-face with Kyle O\’Reilly and Von Wagner. They argued about who should be next in line for a title match. Legado touted their recent win over O\’Reilly and Wagner

Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel came out to state that they would put their titles on the line at this upcoming show, but would leave it up to the other teams to decide who they face. WWE has yet to announce the number one contender\’s match, but it will likely take place next week.

Team Raquel (Cora Jade, Raquel González, Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray) vs. Team Dakota (Dakota Kai and Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, and Jacy Jayne) in a WarGames match was announced last Tuesday.

  • Seth Rollins Comments On Fan Attack During WWE Raw

Seth Rollins has given his first public comments regarding the attack he dealt with on Monday’s episode of WWE Raw by 24-year-old Elisah Spencer.

It happened just after Rollins had beaten down Finn Balor. As Rollins was walking up the ramp, the man jumped the barricade and tackled Rollins, who proceeded to put him in a guillotine choke. Rollins let go of the fan as a referee and later security took the man away. Rollins never hit the fan.

TMZ caught up with Rollins at the airport and asked him about the situation.

\”It\’s terrifying, brother,\” Rollins said, providing a play-by-play of the incident. It happened very quickly. I was mostly just reacting and hoping that our security would come and do their job. Which they did very quickly. And then was just trying to detach and move on. Hope that everybody is okay.\”

Aside from a bloody lip, Rollins said he didn’t suffer any major injuries.

\”No, no serious injuries. Nothing like that. I was safe, we were safe. Everything was okay.\”

As a result of his actions, the man faces charges of attempted assault and attempted violation of arts and cultural affairs (disrupting live sporting event),

  • Watch: Seth Rollins Attacked By Fan On WWE Raw

A crazed fan jump the barricade and attacked Seth Rollins at Monday’s episode of WWE Raw at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

At the top of the second hour, Rollins was cutting a promo in the ring about being the sole survivor for Team Raw in the men’s elimination tag team match at the Survivor Series pay-per-view.

Finn Balor came out to interrupt Rollins, who proceeded to beat him down. When Rollins was making his way up the entranceway, a fan attacked him and the camera quickly cut away.

Fans in attendance noted on social media that security quickly jumped into action and Michael Hayes was seen on the stage. The announcers avoided talking about the fan.

Eventually, Rollins got up and was rightfully talking some trash to the fan, who was taken away right before the camera was back on Rollins, who had a bloody mouth as a result of the attack.

The fan will likely be banned from attending future WWE events because of his actions. Fans should never jump the rail and try to attack a wrestler who in the case of Rollins, was simply doing his job by being a heel on television.

  • Roman Reigns Beats Big E In Champion vs. Champion Bout At Survivor Series

WWE Champion Big E vs. Universal Champion Roman Reigns ended up in the main event of this year’s Survivor Series pay-per-view event. This was the biggest match WWE could book with its two top talents on each brand – Raw and SmackDown.

The match started out slow then Reigns dominated the majority of it. The story was how Big E wouldn’t give up and kept coming forward despite the damage he received. At one point, Reigns hit the Rock Bottom for a near fall. Reigns hit a spear for the win.

After cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Bobby Lashley this September, Big E started his WWE Title reign. On the flip side, Reigns has held the Universal Championship since August 2020.

Reigns and The Usos have been feuding with Big E\’s New Day stablemates Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston on SmackDown over the past few weeks as in this year’s Draft, Big E stayed on Raw while Woods and Kingston moved to SmackDown.

Last year’s main event featured Reigns going over then-WWE Champion Drew McIntyre from the Amway Center inside the ThunderDome.

What are your thoughts on Reigns going over? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.

  • Team Raw Wins Women’s Tag Match At WWE Survivor Series

This year’s Traditional 5-on-5-on-5 Elimination Match for the female roster at the Survivor Series event is in the books.

Team Raw featured Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Carmella & Zelina Vega while SmackDown had Sasha Banks, Shayna Baszler, Shotzi, Natalya & Toni Storm.

The first elimination saw Storm roll up Carmella, who was trying to get her mask on for the elimination. The crowd did a wave during the match at one point. The crowd also chanted for CM Punk. Storm eliminated Vega with her finisher. Morgan with a face plant to eliminate Storm. Banks eliminated Morgan with a splash. Shayna eliminated Ripley. Belair was the only person left on Raw. Banks got eliminated by count out. Belair rolled up Natalya for the elimination. Belair eliminated Bazler. Belair won with the kiss of death.

Five years ago, Vince McMahon decided to do the brand vs. brand theme that included women.

In 2021, Team Raw featured Shayna Baszler, Nia Jax, Peyton Royce, Lacey Evans, and Lana) while SmackDown had Bianca Belair, Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Bayley, and Natalya. The red brand ended up coming out on top.

In 2019, WWE added NXT talent as Team NXT (Rhea Ripley, Toni Storm, Bianca Belair, Candice LeRae and Io Shirai) ended up winning by topping Team Raw (Charlotte Flair, Sarah Logan, Natalya, Asuka and Kairi Sane) and Team SmackDown (Sasha Banks, Dana Brooke, Carmella, Lacey Evans, Nikki Cross).

  • Team Raw Wins Men’s Tag Match At WWE Survivor Series

This year’s Survivor Series event featured a Traditional Elimination Match for the male roster between Raw and SmackDown talent as usual with some notable star power.

For the second straight year, WWE only used main roster talent. Team Raw featured Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Bobby Lashley & Austin Theory while SmackDown had (Drew McIntyre, Jeff Hardy, Xavier Woods, Baron Corbin, and Sheamus.

The first elimination saw Owens walk out and was counted out. Balor with a coup de grace to Corbin for the elimination. Lashley eliminated Woods with a spear and a full nelson. Lashley and McIntyre were both eliminated by countout as they brawled to the floor. Sheamus with the big boot to eliminate Balor. Theory rolled up Sheamus for the elimination. Hardy eliminated Theory with a swanton bomb. After Hardy hit the twist of fate, he went for the swanton bomb, but Seth put up the knees and connected with the stomp for the win.

This was the sixth straight year that Vince McMahon had decided to do the brand vs. brand theme for one of the big four events of the year for the company.  In 2019, WWE used NXT talent across the show, but that ended in 2020.

Speaking of last year, Team Raw featured Keith Lee, AJ Styles, Sheamus, Braun Strowman, and Matt Riddle while SmackDown had Kevin Owens, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, Baron Corbin, and Otis with the red brand going over in a clean sweep.

What are your thoughts on Team Raw winning the match? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.

  • Becky Lynch Tops Charlotte Flair at WWE Survivor Series

WWE booked the biggest match possible with its top female talent in Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair at the Survivor Series pay-per-view event in Brooklyn, New York.

Neither title was on the line. The match opened the show and they went straight into a fight. After brawling, Flair took over and beat her down for a few minutes before Lynch rallied back. At one point, Lynch locked in the figure four leg lock. Lynch pinned Flair with Lynch holding the ropes but the ref didn’t see it.

Last year’s high profile champion vs. champion match for the women featured Raw Women’s Champion Asuka losing to SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks.

Both stars changed brands in the draft, but to resolve the situation with their titles, the company decided to have a championship exchange segment on an episode of SmackDown last month where Lynch became Raw Women\’s Champion while Charlotte became SmackDown Women\’s Champion.

It was reported that Lynch and Charlotte had a legitimate backstage confrontation following the awkward title exchange.

Time will tell where the company goes with these two wrestlers heading into the Day 1 pay-per-view event in January from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

    • Persia Pirotta def. Gabby Stephens and Jenna Levy
    • Raquel Gonzalez def. Dakota Kai via DQ.

Here are the takeaways from this week’s show:

    Let’s Chat

    \"\"

Tommaso Ciampa came out for a promo about how Grayson Waller has been talking about wanting his title. This led to Bron Breakker coming out.

Bron said it pisses off Ciampa to see new talent come to NXT. He said that he will run through Ciampa to get the title. He said the only thing Ciampa should worry about is him. Ciampa reminded him that he already beat him. Ciampa said that Bron has a small chance of beating him and taking the title. He said that Bron is just a puppy and he’s the NXT Champion.

So are we getting a rematch at WarGames? Time will reveal all.

    Santos Escobar Returns

    \"\"

Xyon Quinn defeated Andre Chase in a pretty short match that was fine, but was there to serve a purpose, which was more important.

After the match, Legado del Fantasma\’s Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza attacked Quinn before Santos Escobar, who has been kept off television, made his return to further beat down the babyface.

Elektra Lopez came out and told him that no one says no to her, which is a play off him turning down her offer to join the group.

    Six-Man Tag Team Match

    \"\"

Diamond Mine (Roderick Strong and the Creed Brothers) vs. Jacket Time (Ikemen Jiro and Kushida) and Odyssey Jones in a six-man tag team match took place.

Last week, The Creed Brothers defeated Jacket Time thanks to interference from Strong. This led to Jones to come out to even the odds and get his revenge on Diamond Mine for attacking him two weeks ago.

This was the second match of the night. At one point, Strong hit an Angle Slam to Jones. The match was solid and ended when Jones pinned Strong for the win.

    Tony D\’Angelo vs. Dexter Lumis

    \"\"

Tony D\’Angelo vs. Dexter Lumis was booked. The match was set up when last week, D’Angelo met with Indi Hartwell, who is Lumis’ wife in storyline, so he could give her a fish as a gift for Lumis.

The match opened the show. The match was short as Tony poked him in the eye and hit his finisher for the win. Post-match, Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes attacked Lumis from behind. Johnny Gargano ran down to make the save.

Another impressive win for Tony. After the break, Gargano cut a promo about how if you screw with his family then he will kick their teeth down their throat. Pete Dunne walked out and said Gargano can’t get a title match considering he just beat him. Gargano said Williams carries the bags of Hayes. Hayes said that he is the leader of the new room. Hayes challenged them to a triple threat match for the North American Title next week.

    Raquel Gonzalez vs. Dakota Kai

    \"\"

Raquel Gonzalez vs. Dakota Kai finally took place after Kai made her TV return.

Kai turned on her former best friend in July, which set up a match where Gonzalez to retain the NXT Women’s Title at NXT TakeOver 36 in August. Kai was kept off television until Halloween Havoc last month when Kai came back to cost Gonzalez the title after Mandy Rose defeated Gonzalez to win the title after Kai hit Gonzalez in the back with a shovel.

Two weeks ago, Gonzalez called out Kai, who came out only to be attacked by Cora Jade. After the brawl, Gonzalez told Jade that she would have to wait to get a piece of Kai. Last week, Kai had defeated Jade. Post-match, Kai got a table out, but Kai then backed off instead of hitting the move.

This was a really fun back and forth match that had the fans in attendance fully behind. At one point, Kai grabbed a shovel, but Toxic Attraction came out to attack Raquel. Zoey Stark came out with a brace on her leg. Io Shirai came out with her, who attacked the heels with a crutch.

Io yelled WarGames to end the show so look out for that being made official.

  • Tommaso Ciampa Discusses Not Fitting WWE’s Vision For NXT 2.0

WWE President Nick Khan recently spoke about the guiding philosophy behind the rebrand of WWE NXT 2.0. Specifically, WWE\’s plan to focus on younger and larger athletes.

Unfortunately, this does not bode well for the longterm futures of NXT veterans like Tommaso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano, Kyle O\’Reilly and others.

Chiampa won the vacant NXT Championship on premiere episode of NXT 2.0. During a recent interview with RN Pro Wrestling, he said he\’s well aware of NXT 2.0\’s new direction – and what it means for guys like him.

Transitional Champion and all that crap

    \"Tommaso

Ciampa told RN Pro Wrestling, “Everybody had a vision of what this 2.0 was and I don’t think I fit that vision. I did not fit that mold.\”

\”I’m a little older, I look the way I look, whatever you want to say and to be able to go out there on night one and win the NXT title and have my redemption story. And then to continue on with it, of course we’re humans, we read stuff, we see stuff, transitional champion and all that crap.”

Ciampa says he’s the best thing that the brand has to offer right now. He knows what the title represents and accepts the responsibility that comes with that.

He thinks it’s cool to be in this spot and be able to prove the doubters wrong and prove the people who support him right.

  • Charlotte Flair Says She Can Be Difficult Because She Stands Up For What She Believes In

There was a reported backstage confrontation between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair at the October 22 episode of WWE SmackDown after they had a championship exchange segment.

Flair had gone to WWE management before the show to voice her concerns regarding the segment and how it would make her look weak. Despite her best attempts, it didn’t work and they went with what the creative team had planned. After the segment, there were loud words being exchanged but no physicality.

While being asked about the criticism she gets for always being the champion in an interview with BT Sport, Flair spoke about how she stands up for what she believes in.

\”If I was a man would it rub people the wrong way? No one looks at a man and goes, \’why does he want to be the world champion again when he\’s been on top all these years?\’ Is it because I\’m a woman and have done it all and we have a smaller division? Charlotte is difficult? Because I stand up for what I believe in? That makes me difficult? If I was a man, I\’d have big balls. I know how good I am. Man or woman, I am the best.\”

Flair is slated to wrestle Lynch at WWE Survivor Series in a Champion vs. Champion bout. Lynch previously stated that things are difficult with Charlotte right now and they are not friends.

  • Adam Page Wins AEW World Title At Full Gear

At long last, fans got to see the match they’ve waited months to see – Adam Page challenging Kenny Omega for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship.

This served as the main event of the Full Gear pay-per-view event. Omega hit a springboard sunset liger bomb and Page landed badly on his back/neck. Page with a blockbuster off the top rope. There was a referee bump when Page hit his clothesline finisher to him. Don Callis got involved but was taken out. Page with the deadeye for a near fall when a new referee came out. Page with the one-winged angel for a near fall. Page hit his clothesline finisher for the win.

Originally, AEW was planning this match for the All Out PPV event, but the decision was made for Omega to defend the title against Christian Cage at this event instead as Page took time off for the birth of his child.

Page made his return to AEW TV on an episode of Dynamite in October when he was revealed as the “joker” in the Casino Ladder Match. The bout also featured PAC, Andrade El Idolo, Jon Moxley, Lance Archer, Orange Cassidy, and Matt Hardy.

With Page winning the bout, he earned the title match. This was actually a rematch between them as Omega beat Page in last year’s Eliminator Tournament finals at Full Gear.

  • Jay Lethal Signs With AEW

Jay Lethal is officially All Elite. During Saturday’s AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event, Tony Schiavone introduced a special guest.

Lethal was introduced with a remixed version of Randy Savage’s theme song. He announced that he has signed with AEW and then he issued a challenge to TNT Champion Sammu Guevara for Wednesday’s Dynamite.

Guevara walked out and then accepted the challenge. Also set for this show includes The Butcher and The Blade vs. Tomohiro Ishii & Orange Cassidy, Nyla Rose vs. Hikaru Shida, and The Acclaimed vs. Dante Martin & Lio Rush.

Lethal had been with ROH for a number of years, but the company is going hiatus after the Final Battle pay-per-view in December. The company said that they “anticipate” a return in April.

Should they return to holding shows, it won’t be with the same crop of talent as they’ve released all contracted talent including Lethal.

Lethal made a name for himself in TNA Wrestling before going to ROH. While with TNA, he was a six-time X-Division and one-time Tag Team Champion. In ROH, he held the Pure, TV, and Tag Team Titles in addition to being a two-time World Champion.

  • Britt Baker Keeps AEW Women’s Title In Full Gear Defense

Tay Conti was the latest wrestler in the women’s division to step up to challenge Britt Baker for the AEW Women’s Title.

It happened at Saturday’s (November 13, 2021) AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event in Minneapolis, MN at the Target Center. The match featured Baker dominating most of the match with Conti fighting back. Baker did hit an Air Raid Crash on the ring apron. Conti rolled her up for the win.

On the October 23rd edition of Dynamite, Baker confirmed the match in a promo where she stated that all Conti has done since coming to AEW is showing off her ass and when they met, she would beat it.

In late October on an episode of Rampage, Baker defeated Conti’s friend, Anna Jay,  in a non-title match. Post-match, Rebel and Jamie Hayter jumped Jay until Conti came out to make the save.

This wasn’t the first time that Conti challenged for the AEW Women’s Championship as she did so on the April 21st episode of Dynamite, but fell short to then-champion Hikaru Shida.

What are your thoughts on Baker retaining the Women’s Title? Was this the right call by AEW officials? Sound off in the comment section.

  • Bryan Danielson Wins AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament

All Elite Wrestling held its Eliminator Tournament to determine who would be the next in line for the challenge for the World Heavyweight Title and it came to an end when Miro stepped into the ring with Bryan Danielson in the finals at the Full Gear pay-per-view event.

The match was truly back and forth to the point where the announcers said that neither wrestler could get an advantage. At one point, they followed each other up with their submission finishers. Miro deadlifted Bryan out of a heel hook for a german suplex. Bryan hit a DDT off the top rope then locked in the guillotine choke for the win.

There were 8 competitors in the tournament that included 10, Jon Moxley, Orange Cassidy, Powerhouse Hobbs, Dustin Rhodes, Bryan Danielson, Lance Archer, and Eddie Kingston.

The first round matches saw Moxley over 10, Cassidy beat Hobbs, Danielson defeat Rhodes, and Kingston over Archer.

The semi-finals featured Danielson over Kingston while Miro replaced Moxley, who decided to get help for alcohol abuse and checked into rehab to address his issues.

Many have rightfully supported Moxley in this decision despite the pressure he had on himself while being a top star for the promotion and taking himself out of a high position in the company for now to further help himself. Miro defeated Cassidy to advance in the tournament.

Kenny Omega defended the World Title against Adam Page in the main event of Full Gear. Ironically, Omega beat Page in last year’s tournament at Full Gear

  • Lucha Bros Retain Tag Team Titles At AEW Full Gear

FTR were the latest challengers to step up to take on AEW Tag Team Champions Lucha Bros.

This was the second match on the main card of the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event in Minneapolis, MN at the Target Center. The champions had the early advantage. Lucha Bros did a double submission spot at one point. Fenix hit a double cutter on FTR. Fenix walked the top rope to do a head kick spot. Wheeler hit Fenix with a title belt for a near fall when the referee wasn’t looking.

These two teams previously shared the ring on the October 16th episode of Dynamite when Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood won the AAA Tag Team Championship from the Lucha Bros while being dressed as luchadores.

The storyline was that Andrade El Idolo paid Pinnacle leader MJF for their services so they could take the titles away from Penta El Zero M and Rey Fenix. Thus, FTR dressed up as unknown luchadores.

The Lucha Bros beat The Young Bucks to win the Tag Team Titles this past September inside of a Steel Cage at the AEW All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago, IL at the NOW Arena.

  • WWE Disputes “Erroneous” Claims By Keith Lee About Paying For His Medical Bills

WWE has issued a statement in response to what Keith Lee stated about how he paid for his own medical expenses. Lee wrote in the statement regarding the bills:

“Several months ago, it was not a guarantee I would make it to this day, so there is positivity in that. I paid all my medical bills from the many offices and machines I frequented. There is positivity in that. And, I do find it amusing that people believe anyone but me paid for my medical expenses.”

On Friday, WWE issued this statement to dispute Lee’s claims:

“Keith Lee’s recent comments implying WWE failed to pay his medical bills are erroneous. WWE has an extensive healthcare program for the medical care of its in-ring performers and Mr. Lee was part of this program while with the company. Should Mr. Lee have any concerns over the payment of medical bills, he is welcome to address them with WWE.”

Last Thursday, Lee was among the 18 talents released as part of the latest wave of budget cuts.

Lee was sidelined earlier this year with COVID-19 and the virus caused heart issues that kept him sidelined for several months. He would return in July only to later be pulled from television as he started working dark matches with the “Bearcat” gimmick. Lee is under a 90-day non-compete clause.

  • WWE NXT Results (11/9): Dunne vs. Hayes, Six-Woman Tag, Raquel Gonzalez Speaks

The November 9, 2021 episode of WWE NXT 2.0 aired live on the USA Network from Orlando, Florida at the Capitol Wrestling Center.

    WWE NXT Results

    • Toxic Attraction defeated Kayden Carter, Kacy Catanzaro, and Io Shirai
    • Kay Lee Ray defeated Sarray
    • Joe Gacy defeated Boa via DQ
    • The Creed Brothers defeated Jacket Time
    • Cameron Grimes defeated Ru Feng via pinfall
    • Solo Sikoa defeated LA Knight and Grayson Waller
    • Elektra Lopez defeated Erika Yan
    • Pete Dunne defeated Carmelo Hayes

Here are the takeaways from this week’s show:

    Raquel Gonzalez Speaks

    \"\"

Raquel Gonzalez saw Mandy Rose and the rest of Toxic Attraction outside of the arena. While driving on her motorcycle, she told Rose to keep her belt warm for her. Of course, Rose won the NXT Women’s Title from Raquel at Halloween Havoc after Dakota Kai made her grand return to cost her former best friend the title.

Raquel came out to the ring for a promo where she told Kai to get out to the ring. Kai did and was laughing at her. Kai said it felt so good to hit Raquel with the shovel. Cora Jade came out to get into a brawl with Kai. Raquel told Jade that Kai is her’s first. This was the end of the segment.

    Kay Lee Ray vs. Sarray

    \"\"

Kay Lee Ray vs. Sarray in a singles match was booked. The match was mostly Ray in charge although it wasn’t one-sided as some might think as Sarray got in some offense including a tease finish spot where she had Ray in a submission but Ray got to the bottom rope. Ray went over with her finisher.

This marked Ray’s first match since she defeated Amari Miller on the September 21 episode of NXT. Last week, a video aired where Ray hyped that she would \”start to rage\” beginning with tonight\’s show.

Ray held the NXT UK Women\’s Championship for 649 days before losing it to Meiko Satomura this June. Starting this past August at NXT TakeOver 36, she joined NXT. Sarray was previously in action when she defeated Katrina Cortez on 205 Live two weeks ago.

    Tag Team Match

    \"\"

Kushida & Ikemen Jiro vs. The Creed Brothers (Julius & Brutus Creed) took place.

The match took place right before the second hour. The babyfaces got the early offense in before going to commercial.

Kushida and Ikemen Jiro are going by the Jacket Time name. On last week’s 205 Live, they lost to the Grizzled Young Veterans. The company filed for the tag team name over the weekend so they clearly plan on keeping these two wrestlers together for a while.

    Six-Woman Tag Team Match

    \"\"

Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne) vs. Io Shirai, Kayden Carter & Kacy Catanzaro was booked. This was the biggest bout to be announced in advance and it opened the show.

The match was lengthy and went over 10 minutes so everyone got their spots in. There was a distraction outside the ring that caused Dolin to knock Carter off the top rope. Dolin hit her uncaged finisher for the win.

This match was set up last week when Carter and Catanzaro saved Shirai from a beatdown by Toxic Attraction.

At Halloween Havoc, ose defeated Raquel Gonzalez in a Trick or Street Fight to win the NXT Women\’s Championship while Dolin & Jayne won the NXT Women\’s Tag Team Titles in a Scareway to Hell ladder match.

    Headliner

    \"\"

Pete Dunne vs. Carmelo Hayes served as the main event of this show after there was a backstage segment where Dunne was doing a promo before being interrupted by the North American Champion and Trick Williams.

Williams was trying to talk “street” and essentially telling Dunne if he was looking for a fight they could settle that for him. Dunne brushed off what Williams had to say before they went to commercial. During the latter part of the first hour, the match was made.

The bout was back and forth. Dexter Lumis joined the commentators with about 8 minutes left in the broadcast. Dunne made a comeback with a series of kicks and suplexes. Hayes sent Dunne into the bottom rope. Lumis took out Williams and after a distraction, Dunne hit the bitter end for the win.

  • WWE Had Long Production Meeting At Raw, Vince McMahon Left Before Show Started

WWE had a long production meeting before Monday’s episode of Raw from the KFC Yum Center in Louisville.

Pwinsider.com reported the news and noted that while Vince McMahon was said to be present for the meeting in the afternoon, he left before the show went live on the USA Network. It’s unclear why he didn’t stick around nor what the meeting was about.

Bruce Prichard also wasn’t backstage at Raw. Typically, if McMahon isn’t there then Prichard or Triple H will run the show. Triple H is still recovering from having heart surgery. As a result, John Laurinaitis ran things backstage.

The report added that there were no NXT wrestlers backstage at the show.

Fans may have picked up on the unusual format for the show and the meeting may have had something to do with that as it seemed the company was stretching for time to fill with longer matches and segments. Case in point was the main event, which started about 30 minutes before the show went off the air.

On Raw, there were two heel turns – Doudop is now a villain as she started a program with Bianca Belair while Kevin Owens turned on WWE Champion Big E at the end of the show.
