After a stint in NXT, Chelsea Green made her SmackDown debut in November last year. However, she broke her wrist in her debut match, causing original plans that saw her winning the bout to be changed.

After months of inactivity, the company finally made the decision to let the former champion go. She was released from her contract in April earlier this year.

Chelsea\’s previous run with Impact wrestling started in 2016 which ended in Janaury 2018. She even won the knockouts title one time during her run.

The former WWE star has been released with a standard 90 days non-compete clause which means that she will only be able to join Impact after July 14, once an agreement is reached.

  • WWE Artist Calls Velveteen Dream \’The Most Unprofessional Person\’ He Has Encountered

WWE quietly letting Velveteen Dream go became a talking point among fans yesterday when the news about his release from the company broke online.

Among the people who reacted to the news was longtime WWE artist Rob Schamberger who made some interesting comments about the former NXT star.

Schamberger reacted to the news not long after it came out. He took Twitter to describe Dream as the \’most unprofessional person\’ he has encountered:

\”Without saying anything further: He was the single most unprofessional person I’ve encountered in this business. I hope this is the wake up call he needs to start doing the emotional work to become a better person. All told.\”

    https://twitter.com/robschamberger/status/1395514460912201730

Discussing his plans after his contract expires, Jim Ross said that he would like to continue working for Tony Khan but take things one year at a time:

\”I\’d like to, in a perfect world, Steven, I would say I\’ll do this year, and then let\’s evaluate and see where we are health-wise, motivational-wise. Then if I come back, I\’d like to come back for a year at a time.\”

  • News On Don Callis\’ Backstage Position With Impact Wrestling

Don Callis is no longer an Impact Wrestling executive and he has been relieved of his backstage duties with the company according to latest reports.

The former NJPW commentator was present for the latest Impact tapings. However, he only stayed around to film his content with Kenny Omega and left after day one of the four day taping schedule.

Though this exit was not dramatic and he remains on friendly terms with Impact officials. The former WWF star is expected to continue his on-screen role as the manager for Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers.

Impact wrestling has streamlined their creative team since his exit. The team of Scott D’Amore, Tommy Dreamer, RD Evans and Jimmy Jacobs are overlooking creative process now. There is no plan to replace Don Callis as of now.

  • Kevin Owens On Why He Is Conflicted About Winning The IC Title Again

Kevin Owens will get an opportunity to win his third Intercontinental Championship this Friday but according to the former champion, he will be fine even if he doesn\’t win the title.

The former Universal Champion recently appeared on WWE\’s The Bump where he talked about things such as his rivalry with Sami Zayn and more.

While discussing the upcoming match, Owens mentioned how he is a bit conflicted about winning the title because he is currently tied to Owen Hart for the number of days they have held the championship:

\”As everybody knows, Owen Hart had a very positive influence on my career. What fans have pointed out to me in the past is that me and Owen share a birthday,

But also, we were both Intercontinental Champions twice.\” said Kevin Owens, \”If you add the total amount of days from our reigns, we both have the exact number of days as Intercontinental Champions.\”

The former NXT star said that he almost doesn\’t want to break this streak but he will allow it to happen because the current title has a new design compared to the last one which the wrestling legend and he both held.

Kevin Owens alongside Big E and Sami Zayn will challenge the current Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews in a fatal four way match for the title at this Friday\’s episode of SmackDown.

“E would be a great fit because he would bring a lot of things to the table you hadn’t seen before; there aren’t a lot of people that move like Big E that are built like him in a Money in the Bank match.\”

Kofi mentioned how Big E is not only very strong but athletic as well. Discussing how a MITB win can lead to a main event push, Kingston revealed that one of his goals to join New Day was to help his teammates:

“One of my goals when I initially joined New Day, when Woods and E approached me about being in this group, I wanted to do something new—and I wanted to help Woods and E rise,

And do whatever I could do to help them achieve a level of stardom in this industry that they hadn’t before,\” said Kofi Kingston, \”So yes, E would be amazing in Money in the Bank.”

The Money In The Bank usually takes place in May or June but the company has moved the show down this year and announced Hell In A Cell as their next PPV.

It\’s believed that Money In The Bank will be held in July with fans in attendance. It will be a great opportunity for WWE to push Big E to the next level with a big win in the presence of fans.

Tony Khan\’s AEW made a couple of big revelations earlier today including the announcement of a new television show called Rampage and their move to TBS in 2022. The AEW president talked about these big announcements during his appearance on Busted Open Radio and went in length to explain how the new show will fit into their current dynamic.

During the talk, Khan revealed that the warner media officials had shown interest in adding a third hour to Dynamite instead but he insisted on the third-hour being on a separate night:

\”I didn’t want to do three hours of Dynamite. They (warnermedia) asked at one point if I wanted to do three hours of Dynamite. It came up about doing a third hour and I said I really believed in doing it on another night.”

Tony Khan also explained how Rampage will be positioned among their current programs. He explained that it will not be a secondary show. He claimed that Rampage would rather be a partner and equivalent of Dynamite:

\”I promise you Rampage isn’t going to be a secondary show. Rampage is going to be the partner of Dynamite, the equivalent of Dynamite. We have these two strong franchises in Dynamite and Rampage and they are our weekly core properties. And then we’ll have our peripheral properties (Dark and Elevation).

They’re probably the equivalent of what you’d seen, partially a developmental show, partially a syndicated show.\”

Khan said that both Rampage and Dynamite are going to be their core properties in terms of content for the rest of the year and on TBS from next year. AEW Rampage will premiere on TNT on August 13. It will air on 10 pm (Eastern) on Friday, right after the broadcast of WWE\’s premier show SmackDown.

  • Tyson Kidd Recalls Interesting Backstage Interaction With Shawn Michaels

Tyson Kidd has been involved in the wrestling business for almost all his life which started with him making his in-ring debut in 1995, at the age of 15.

In a recent interview with WrestlingInc, the retired wrestling star talked about a number of things and opened up about his experiences in the wrestling world.

During the interview, Kidd told an interesting backstage incident with Shawn Michaels, where he had heard HBK say that he was nervous before a match:

“I was a kid, about 15 years old, and I remember seeing Shawn Michaels earlier in the day of WrestleMania 12, Diana Hart was asking if [Shawn] was excited for the match. And I remember him saying he was really nervous.

Tyson Kidd explained that he had made his debut the summer before and he found it interesting that even Michaels got nervous before a bout:

“I’d had my first match the summer before, and I am a 15-year-old kid, and I remember being insanely nervous. I remember sitting there and hearing those words come out of Shawn Michaels’ mouth in 1996 and I was like, ‘Shawn Michaels is nervous? No way!

I thought I was just nervous!’ [Michaels] did say to [Diana] later that he was nervous about entertaining the crowd for that amount of time. So, it was kind of an interesting thing to see Shawn Michaels say that.”

  • Sanity Member, MMA Horsewomen, And More NXT Names Released

WWE has released several NXT talents today including some noteworthy names such as former Sanity member Alexander Wolfe and one of the MMA horsewomen Jessamyn Duke.

The news of talent releases started coming in early in the morning. The list only grew as the day passed by, reaching to more than half a dozen releases.

Below is the current standing list of stars that have confirmed to have been released by the officials during today\’s cuts according to reports from PWInsider and Fightful select:

    • Jessamyn Duke
    • Alexander Wolfe
    • Vanessa Borne

    • Ezra Judge
    • Kavita Devi

Wrestling talents are not the only ones to have been let go and NXT referee Drake Younger and referee Jake Clemons have also been cut by the company. The talents that have been released today have apparently been told that they are being let go due to budgetary reasons.

The release of Jessamyn Duke is especially interesting because it ends the possibility of having an MMA horsewoman vs. WWE horsemen feud which has been rumored for a long while.

  • Eric Bischoff Believes There Is No War Between AEW And WWE

While the perception of a wrestling war between WWE and AEW often keeps the fans busy, Eric Bischoff believes that there is no real war between them. The former WCW president recently talked about the competition between the two promotions on the latest episode of his 83 weeks podcast.

He first discussed how AEW will be returning to road before WWE in July. Though opposed to the perception of how it might affect Vince McMahon, Bischoff claimed that he doesn\’t think the boss cares:

“I don’t think Vince cares, I know wrestling fans like to think that there’s this battle between AEW and WWE. The very fact that I made an appearance on AEW a month before they inducted me into the Hall of Fame suggests to me that they really don’t care. Are they aware? Sure. Is Vince McMahon walking around kicking people in the ass saying ‘God dammit, how did they beat us to the punch?\’\”

Eric Bischoff claimed that he knows people think there is a war between the two companies because deep down they want another wrestling war, but WWE is \’on a different planet\’ compared to AEW:

“WWE is on a different planet than AEW right now. That’s because AEW is about 24 months old or so, WWE has been around for decades and decades and decades. A lot of catching up to do folks, there is no war. There is no angst or anxiety from WWE in my opinion when it comes to AEW.”

Eric Bischoff also discussed how the formulas of producing content has changed since the Monday Night Wars because the companies are more reliant on the revenue from TV deals and so they are focusing on quantity over quality.

The former SmackDown general manager explained that the reason for the decline in the content quality of WWE is because they have not conditioned themselves and developed a formula for producing the same quality of content while increasing the amount of it.

  • Jim Ross On Vince McMahon\’s First Reaction To Brock Lesnar

Jim Ross was the one who introduced Vince McMahon to Brock Lesnar and the boss\’ first reaction to the beast was exactly what you would expect. The former WWE commentator recently had an interview with Talk Sport where he talked about his other role in the company as the head of talent relations.

Ross has previously explained how they did not tell Vince about Lesnar earlier as they wanted the former WWE champion to complete the senior year of his college. Speaking of the time he and Gerry Brisco finally brought Lesnar to a TV taping, JR revealed how Vince reacted when he first saw him:

\”I said to McMahon ‘that new kid I’m recruiting is here tonight. If you get a chance I’d like you to say hello him. So McMahon is walking about with his Mr. McMahon walk and he happens to glance over and Gerry Brisco is standing by this monster. Vince made a U-turn and beelined right to Brock – he had never seen him. Never watched him wrestle.\”

Jim Ross mentioned that they had hyped Lesnar as an extraordinary talent to the boss before bringing him in. When Vince McMahon finally laid his eyes on the monster-sized athlete, he knew that Brock was \’the guy\’:

“So when Vince laid eyes on him he knew that we had the guy. If he had any aptitude whatsoever – we knew athletically he was going to be great, he’d already proven himself as an athlete – but if he could get the showbiz side of it and have the aptitude to be a pro wrestler, he was going to be our guy for a while. And that worked out.”

Brock Lesnar was then signed to the biggest rookie contract of that time and sent to OVW in 2000. He had a successful run following his main roster debut in 2002 but he famously got burned out and left the promotion only two years after his first main roster match in 2004 to pursue other interests.

  • Tenille Dashwood On How She Got Her Name In WWE

Tenille Dashwood, better known to WWE fans as Emma recently appeared on Taylor Wilde’s ‘Wilde On’ podcast where she revealed the story behind her ring name in the company.

The female star signed a contract with the company in 2011 and made her debut for the FCW brand right before its rebranding as the NXT in August 2012.

Talking about her ring name, Dashwood discussed how the company did not allow people to use their real names at the time. So the officials asked her to give a list of suggestions for her ring name:

\”So, when I first started, they said ‘give me a list of names’ and I remember I gave a list of like 20 names or something and they were like two-part names too,

like I had a last name but they just went ahead and went ‘out of all of these, we’ll just take this name but without that…so, just Emma,’ and I was like oh, okay.\”

Tenille Dashwood continued her story mentioning how the officials had finalised two names from the list and she chose the one which felt catchy to her:

\”Well, they came back with two options, it was like Emma or like Adeline was the other one and I thought, Adeline? What is that?

I guess it’s a nice name but it’s not like catchy, it’s not easy to say, Adeline is easy to forget and Emma is simple, everyone will be able to say it,\”

Dashwood made her main roster debut in 2014 as Emma, making her the first Australian woman to debut on WWE TV. At a time it was said that the company had big plans for her character.

However, Emma was sent back to NXT in 2015. While she did return to the main roster in 2016, she didn\’t stay in the company very long after that. She was released from the promotion in October 2017.

The Beast defended his title against opponents such as Shinsuke Nakamura. However, Lesnar\’s unwillingness to defend the title regularly led to the company stripping him of the championship in July 2006.

  • The Miz On Potential Break Up With John Morrison

A lot of people believe that going their separate ways would be better for the careers of both John Morrison and The Miz but the latter believes that they will continue being partners for a long time.

He recently had an interview with Forbs. It was conducted before the former WWE champion suffered a nasty injury in his WrestleMania: Backlash match against Damian Priest.

During the talk, The Miz was asked about their team splitting up and he said that he doesn\’t see it happening for a long time:

“I don’t see myself and John Morrison splitting up for a very long time, if ever, I don’t see that happening. We’re too connected, we have too much chemistry and we still have more to go. John pushes me more than anybody else in WWE.

Right now, he is just absolutely incredible,\” said The Miz, \”He is on a tear, and I think if he’s not in the main event scene going for the WWE or Universal Championship in the next year I think this is something we’re missing in WWE.”

These comments from the former champion are interesting in light of his recent injury. While not many details about his condition are known yet, reports suggest he could miss up to 9 months of action if he ends up requiring surgery.

The Miz staying out of action for that long would force WWE to make a decision about John Morrison. It\’s very likely that he will be moved to singles competition instead of being taken off TV.

Former WCW star Chuck Palumbo had a couple of stints with WWE in the early and mid-2000s, but the runs didn\’t last for very long and he ended up leaving the company after a short while.

During a recent interview with WrestlingInc, the former tag team champion talked about his wrestling career and explained the reasoning behind his departure from the company.

Palumbo explained that the first time he left WWE in 2004 after a three year run with the promotion, it wasn\’t really his choice:

“The first time, it really wasn’t my choice. I didn’t want to, but they weren’t doing anything with me, they did for a while, but then it got cut short.

I thought the FBI stuff was good. In this business, it’s kind of weird. One or two people, their opinion of you can often dictate your career.\”

Chuck Palumbo was brought back to the promotion in 2006. However, his second run was even shorter and the former WWE star explained that he knew that it was going to be his last run:

“They paid me to sit home, and then I finally started to use the motorcycle gimmick. I signed a two-year deal in ’06. I knew in my gut that that was going to be it for me.

I didn’t want to stay any longer than that, unless things were really good. I knew I had the two-year deal. I tried to do the best I could with it, but I started making plans at that point for my future.”

Palumbo continued wrestling in independent circuit several years after his departure from the promotion. He quietly retired from the sport in 2012.

  • RVD On Why Sabu Does Not Get The Recognition He Deserves

RVD has had a long relationship with Sabu. It goes all the way back to their days in the original ECW where the two not only had an iconic feud but later formed a team together as well.

The former WWE champion recently had an interview with Sports Illustrated to promote the upcoming WWE Icons special highlighting his illustrious career.

During the interview, RVD talked about his matches with Sabu and explained why he thinks the hardcore legend does not get the recognition that he deserves:

“I hope he eventually gets the recognition that he deserves. He’s done a lot. He’s an innovator, he’s different. It was hard for him to fit into a corporate element. I think he walked out or quit from every important position he’s ever had.

“He’s had to do it his way. That’s keeping him from being in the position he should be post-wrestling.\” said RVD, \”Not that he’s done wrestling, but I am very grateful for all this recognition. He deserves that, too.”

RVD also revealed that at one time he had offers from both WWE and WCW but he stayed with ECW because he wanted the company to grow.

Apart from this, the wrestling veteran talked about the other highlights of his ECW run including his 700-days long reign as the ECW TV champion, his matches with opponents such as Jerry Lynn and more.

WWE Icons: RVD will premiere on WWE Network this Sunday on 10 PM ET.
