Jim Ross has returned to his Grilling JR podcast, and the WWE Hall of Famer provided an honest update on his ongoing health battle.
After an extended absence that left many fans worried, Ross opened the show by expressing his gratitude to be back and reconnecting with listeners.
“I’m pretty good, Conrad. Better than I’ve been, so I’m glad to be with you. Got to be with all the fans,” Ross said.
Ross explained that while he is improving, his recovery is still a work in progress, and he has scaled back his schedule as a result.
“I feel pretty good. I think I’m getting better every day, but still got a ways to go. I can’t drive yet,” Ross said. “I’ve cut back on my appearances. I got one big one coming up in Minneapolis in a few weeks, so I’m just battling.”
The broadcaster then shared that he is preparing for another significant procedure, approaching the news with his trademark humor.
“I’m getting ready to have another surgery, brain surgery this time, and that’s going to be an adventure because I don’t think they’re going to find much, my brain,” Ross joked, noting he expects to be in the hospital for a few days.
Despite the challenges, Ross made it clear that his spirits remain high, and he called returning to the show a welcome boost.
“This is the best medicine I could ask for,” Ross said.
Responding to the idea that he would come back better than ever, Ross was resolute, crediting a positive mindset as a key part of his recovery.
“Damn right, I am. It’s all in mind. I think your mind has a big hand in how you feel and how you heal,” Ross said. “Life is good. It can be challenging, but that doesn’t mean you quit. You don’t stop running the race. You just slow down a little bit.”
Everyone at the site wishes Ross the very best with his upcoming surgery and recovery.
