Roman Reigns will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, the main event WWE locked in to close Monday’s Raw from Atlantic City. It’s the match a decade of Shield history has been building toward, and it gives the two-night Minneapolis show its centerpiece.
Reigns returned with Jacob Fatu and called for the crowd to acknowledge him. Rollins came out immediately, the two stared each other down, and Rollins opened with “Hello, my brother,” pointing to the 14 years they’ve been tied together since The Shield formed. Rollins ran down every time he’s gotten the better of Reigns. Reigns conceded Rollins was right that he has to beat him, said he’d do it at SummerSlam, and raised the title to close the show.
That’s now three matches official for the August card. The first two came together over the weekend at Night of Champions in Riyadh and earlier Monday night.
Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar inside Hell in a Cell
Lesnar opened Raw by interrupting Femi’s King of the Ring celebration, hitting an F-5, then leaving. Femi recovered and challenged Lesnar to a match at SummerSlam, and Lesnar accepted on the condition it happen inside the Cell. Femi is forgoing his guaranteed title shot as King of the Ring to take the match, leaving both Reigns and Sami Zayn off his board for now. The full breakdown is in our report on the Lesnar vs. Femi Hell in a Cell match.
Liv Morgan vs. Iyo Sky for the Women’s World Championship
Sky won Queen of the Ring at Night of Champions by beating Morgan and called her shot on the spot. Michael Cole confirmed the title stipulation Monday, and Morgan closed a heated segment by tapping Sky out with help from Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. Both world title shots were set the moment the King and Queen of the Ring finals wrapped in Saudi Arabia.

What’s still open
Femi’s King of the Ring title shot is the card’s biggest unresolved thread now that he’s banked it for a later date. Sami Zayn’s Undisputed WWE Championship win over Cody Rhodes sets up a Rhodes program, with CM Punk’s return expected soon. The Bloodline picture stayed busy too, with Solo Sikoa and LA Knight both in the mix against Jey and Jimmy Uso.
SummerSlam 2026 runs Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. It’s the second straight two-night edition and the event’s first trip to Minneapolis since 1999.
