Tony Khan’s AEW could be filling the WrestleMania void.

WWE has announced that WrestleMania will be emanating from Saudi Arabia in 2027, marking it the first time the Show of Shows will be taking place outside of North America. With WWE’s regular counterprogramming of AEW PPVs, many people have been wondering if the rival promotion will respond with a show of its own to fill the WrestleMania void in the States next year.

The AEW President was asked the question to this effect during the Double or Nothing Media scrum. When the reporter mentioned that there will be no domestic wrestling weekend in America next April, Tony Khan interjected with a simple ‘yet.’ Though when asked directly about potentially running a show at the same time, Khan said that we will have to see what happens in the world between now and then:

“I think it is potentially viable, And it’s a very interesting thought. We’ll have to see what happens in the world landscape between now and then, but it’s a very interesting possibility.”

WWE has promised to bring WrestleMania to both Indianapolis, Indiana, and New Orleans, Louisiana in the future as well. If the ongoing Iran war forces the company to postpone the announced Saudi Mania, then it’s possible that the company will hold the show at either of the two US cities instead.
