Danhausen will face JD McDonagh at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18 at Madison Square Garden, with the match set up through a storyline involving The Judgment Day stealing his prized New York Knicks championship jersey.
Following this week’s WWE Raw, SmackDown was taped immediately after. During the show, Danhausen told Matt Cardona he had been booked against McDonagh at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The match stems from an incident on Raw, in which Danhausen’s laboratory was ransacked and his custom Knicks jersey — gifted to him after the team’s 2026 NBA Championship — was stolen. McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day were responsible, having taken the drastic step after Danhausen reportedly owed Mysterio a significant sum.
Danhausen attempted to set a trap to repay the debt and reclaim the jersey from Mysterio, but Raquel Rodriguez intercepted him during the escape and kept the jersey, leaving Danhausen having repaid the money while still missing his prized possession.
The match represents the biggest of Danhausen’s WWE career since signing with the company and debuting at Elimination Chamber in February 2026. McDonagh is a three-time former WWE Tag Team Champion.
