Possible WWE Return Date For CM Punk

Multiple WWE sources expect CM Punk to return to television as soon as July, with one source pointing to the July 6 Raw in Chicago as a possible target date, according to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select.

Punk is expected to play a significant role at the two-day SummerSlam event in August in Minneapolis. While the July 6 date was not confirmed outright, the expectation from those within WWE is that his return is not far away. Raw on July 6 emanates from the Allstate Arena in Chicago — Punk’s hometown.

Regarding online speculation about potential issues between Punk and TKO, none of the sources Fightful spoke to indicated any concern had spread through the locker room, and there was no discussion of problems between the two parties. If any concerns exist, they are being kept exceptionally quiet.

Punk has been absent from WWE programming since the April 20 episode of Raw, the night after WrestleMania 42, where he had a face-to-face segment with Cody Rhodes. WrestleVotes previously pushed back on reports that WWE had no plans for Punk, calling his absence a well-deserved rest.
