Paul Heyman cannot turn off his pro-wrestling brain, even while watching the NBA Finals. The longtime WWE figure took to social media to credit the NBA’s “creative team and writers” for the New York Knicks’ stunning Game 4 comeback at Madison Square Garden, breaking down the real-life drama in the exact language he uses to sell a wrestling angle.

Heyman framed the night as a classic babyface-versus-heel story, casting the San Antonio Spurs as the visiting villains and the Knicks as the hometown heroes who refused to stay down.

“I think it’s time we all recognize the NBA has a great creative team and writers. Wow. What a story! Texas heels rout hometown heroes in the 1st half at the World’s Most Famous Arena, only for the babyfaces to perform the greatest comeback EVER! My compliments!” Heyman wrote.

The post came after the Knicks reportedly clawed back from a 29-point deficit to beat the Spurs in Game 4, according to Paul Heyman (@HeymanHustle) on X. For Heyman, a comeback of that scale inside Madison Square Garden was too perfect not to compare to a scripted main event.

It is the kind of tongue-in-cheek commentary that has long been part of Heyman’s appeal, treating the line between sports and sports entertainment as something worth blurring for a laugh.

The social media post arrives during a quieter stretch for Heyman, who has been away from WWE television. His on-screen presence has been a talking point in recent months, including when Paul Heyman finally revealed the favor he owes to Gunther.
