Tabloid outlet Ringside News drew widespread condemnation once again this week after using an image taken from Paige’s non-consensually leaked private videos in a throwaway tweet mocking wrestlers for licking title belts. The website later deleted the post but offered no apology, instead resurfacing an old salacious article about Paige.
The tweet went up after Zaria won the NXT Women’s North American Championship in the main event of this week’s WWE NXT and licked the title belt. RSN’s post told wrestlers to stop licking belts and paired an image of Zaria with an image of Paige licking the NXT Women’s Title.
That image of Paige came from the private videos that were leaked online without her consent, content so traumatic that she has spoken about it driving her to suicidal ideation. Part of a man’s genitals can be seen in the image.
RSN Doubles Down Instead Of Apologizing
The post was met with broad backlash across social media and was eventually taken down. Rather than issue an apology, the website shared an article nearly a year old detailing a past incident involving Paige.
In response, Paige thanked the wrestling community for rallying behind her, including fans who spammed a mugshot of RSN owner Steve Carrier under the website’s posts. She made her gratitude clear in a series of posts on X, per Saraya (Paige) on X (Twitter).
“The mugshot you guys keep spamming under his posts too is taking me outtttt! Haha (I liked a few of them) you guys don’t PLAY about this situation,” she wrote.
Carrier’s History
Carrier, who owns the website, has had multiple run-ins with the law, including an arrest for battery in December 2023 and a previous DUI arrest. He has frequently used his social media for matters outside of wrestling reporting, including acting in a predatory manner toward female wrestlers.
More recently, RSN published an article about R-Truth that was not based in facts, prompting the WWE veteran to call the outlet out.
Paige, who currently holds the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, has remained vocal about her career, recently saying she is not done yet as she trains for an in-ring return, and also booking her first post-WWE appearance.
