MJF has no intention of taking time off for his hyperextended left knee, and he wants everyone to know AEW’s business depends on it.

The AEW World Champion shared a recovery update on Instagram hours ahead of his Dynamite appearance, leaning on cold plunge therapy to wrestle through the injury.

MJF suffered the injury last week on AEW Dynamite while defending the AEW World Championship against RUSH. He won the match but emerged with a hyperextended knee, and he detailed his recovery in a video posted while taking a cold plunge.

“Very recently, I have hurt my left knee,” MJF said.

“I hyperextended it in a match against RUSH, who is a bad person. I think we all agree on that. And honestly, this match happened on Wednesday. It is now, I believe, Tuesday? And my inflammation in my knee has drastically gone down.”

True to form, MJF framed his availability as essential to the promotion, crediting the cold plunge brand Nordic Wave for speeding up his recovery.

“Obviously, there’s still a s**t ton of inflammation and pain, but being honest with myself, without this cold plunge, I do believe it would have took me a lot longer to start feeling like myself,” he said.

“And honestly, I think Nordic Wave is going to be a big part of ensuring that I don’t have to take any time off, which is imperative for both my career and, frankly, the company of All Elite Wrestling, ratings, ticket sales, pay-per-view buys, you name it. You’re welcome.”

The injury did force one schedule change. MJF was pulled from a planned Beyond Wrestling appearance against Bobby Orlando and replaced by Andrade El Idolo.

For now, MJF insists time on the shelf is not in his plans as he continues to manage the inflammation in his knee.
