Former WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair believes her eventual return to a heel role will be more effective.
‘The Queen’ has found some of the greatest success of her career as a villain, with many of her championship reigns and top storylines built around her arrogant, dominant heel persona.
However, her partnership with Alexa Bliss over the past year has helped transition Flair into a babyface role. The current run marks one of the longest sustained stretches as a fan favorite in Flair’s WWE career, a notable shift from the heel character work that defined much of her time on the main roster.
Speaking to Ring The Belle, Charlotte Flair said she believes her eventual return to a heel character will have a greater impact because fans are currently getting used to seeing her as a babyface.
Massive Heel Turn Tease
She feels that even those who didn’t appreciate her previous villainous work may view it differently in the future, making a heel turn feel fresher and more meaningful when it happens.
“This is what I’ll say, when I do go back to being bad, I think it’ll just be appreciated more by the people that couldn’t understand or didn’t appreciate the being bad. You’ll have got your fix of this and then when I do go back bad and whatever that looks like, when, maybe it’ll just have a bigger impact.”
Flair was recently featured on the May 29th edition of WWE SmackDown in Barcelona, Spain, when Alex Bliss suffered a defeat against Jade Cargill.
