TNA Wrestling will tape episodes of Thursday Night Impact on Wednesday, July 1, and Thursday, July 2, in Albany, New York, at The Broadview Center, beginning the post-Slammiversary build toward Lockdown in August, according to PWInsider.
The tapings will also kick off a tournament for the Knockouts TV Title and feature Nic Nemeth’s first appearance as the new TNA World Champion following his Slammiversary win over Mike Santana.
The mood inside TNA following the event was described as positive. Multiple talents told PWInsider the show was something “the company needed,” and there was a collective desire within the locker room to deliver and make a statement on the night. There were no major creative departures from what had been planned going into the pay-per-view despite the creative team changes that took place in the days before the show.
Road Dogg Brian James was backstage at Slammiversary, and PWInsider reports that he and the company are still working out a deal for him to come aboard in an ongoing capacity.
