During the August 18, episode of WWE Raw, Naomi shared that she is pregnant, a huge update that several fans had predicted. Due to her pregnancy, Naomi has vacated the WWE Women\’s World Championship though vowed to return better than ever.
Naomi\’s news has spawned several reactions. You can check out some of them down below.
Clearly, Naomi\’s pregnancy means a lot to a lot of people. We at SEScoops would like to send our congratulations to Naomi and Jimmy Uso on this joyous occassion.
Karrion Kross is officially a free agent but that hasn\’t stopped the WWE Universe from chanting his name at events. During the August 15 episode of WWE SmackDown, chants of \’We Want Kross\’ were heard during Sami Zayn\’s opening promo aimed at Solo Sikoa.
On August 18, Kross posted a video on Instagram, speaking about the chants. He emphasized that fan reactions should never be brushed aside in wrestling.
\”Can’t ignore the crowd in this business. I mean, you can try it. It’s not going to be good in the end. You don’t want to make your audience feel like they’re not a part of this.
\”You can’t tell them that they’re a part of this and that they’re the universe and they’re so heavily involved in every aspect of it. And then, like on a whim, tell them, you know, certain subsections of them don’t matter. We can’t do that. That pisses people off. It turns people away.”
Kross recalled a conversation with R-Truth which took place as WWE travelled back from Saudi Arabia. Truth explained that while Kross hadn\’t held gold on the main roster, having the fans behind him was just as valuable.
\”He said to me, ‘You know, you haven’t won any titles on main roster, but the one title that you have right now that you will have for the rest of your life as a moment in time is the title that the people gave you when they chose you.’ And that’s f***ing real.”
This support from fans ultimately didn\’t result in WWE reaching a new deal with Kross or Scarlett, both of whom left WWE on August 10. Wherever he ends up—WWE, AEW, or elsewhere—it’s clear that fans haven’t forgotten Karrion Kross.

Sting\’s decision to leave the black and white behind comes over a year after he retired from in-ring competiton. The Icon received a fitting send-off at the AEW Revolution 2024 pay-per-view where he and Darby Allin defeated the Young Bucks. This victory meant that Sting retired from AEW undefeated and also as a champion as he and Allin held the tag titles at the time.
While Sting may still appear at wrestling events and conventions, the clock is ticking for fans wanting to meet him with his iconic look. With decades of memories and moments to his name, Sting can expect countless fans ready to give him a fitting goodbye.
The WWE Era of AAA is certainly proving lucrative for the lucha libre promotion as seen with the success of TripleMania XXXIII. The August 2025 event was the first TripleMania (AAA\’s largest event) held by WWE, and drew over 4 million views in the first 24 hours.
WWE\’s live stream peaked with 614,000 fans watching at a single time. Inside the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, 19,1691 attendees packed the venue, setting AAA’s all-time gate record, according to Deadline.
WWE\’s influence over the event was impossible to ignore, with a total of 16 WWE Superstars appearing during the broadcast. Highlights include Rey Mysterio making an appearance in Mexico, while El Grande Americano, Dragon Lee, and Dominik Mysterio were all part of the main event.
Wrestling and movie fans have gotten their first tease of Cody Rhodes as Guile in the much-anticipated, star-studded Street Fighter movie. On social media, Andrew Schulz, another actor tied to the film, gave a shadowy look at Rhodes as series-favorite Guile. In case there was anything to mistake, Schulz included Rhodes\’ WWE theme song in the post.
Instantly recognizable from his military fatigues and flat-top haircut, Guile has been part of Street Fighter lore since 1991\’s Street Fighter 2. In the games he is portrayed as a U.S. Air Force pilot, seeking to avenge the death of his friend Charlie who was killed by series antagonist M. Bison.
For now, Rhodes remains WWE\’s top babyface and the current WWE Champion. But as his filmography grows, it remains to be seen for how much longer he will be a wrestler first and an actor second.
Several MMA stars have crossed into the world of pro-wrestling, including fighters like Cain Velasquez, Matt Riddle, and Shayna Baszler. Now, former MMA fighter Anthony Taylor hopes to carve his path into WWE superstardom with a tryout later this year.
In an interview with Esports Insider, Taylor revealed that he has been given a WWE tryout and is preparing to prove himself. For Taylor, this isn\’t a move from one profession to another, but a huge step to filling a life-long dream.
\”This is the moment I’ve been working towards my whole career. Every fight, every show, every crowd I’ve entertained has led to this.\”
Taylor is ready to prove he belongs in WWE and is \”coming in with the mindset to not just impress, but earn my spot.\” For Taylor, making it in WWE would surpass anything he did as an MMA fighter.
“Before I ever stepped inside an MMA cage or boxing ring, my dream was to be a professional wrestler. As a kid, I was hooked on the larger-than-life characters, the drama, and the showmanship.\”
While several WWE Superstars have reached success after MMA, Taylor feels a much different star proves his dream is possible. In Taylor\’s eyes, he hopes to see success similar to former U.S. Champion Logan Paul.
\”He’s proved that if you have the athletic ability, the dedication, and the personality to connect with the fans, you can walk in from another sport and earn respect.\”
Taylor may have a tryout, but the journey to WWE programming is still a long way away. It remains to be seen what becomes of Anthony Taylor and his dreams of being a WWE Superstar.

Hauser will be a part of PROGRESS Chapter 183, set for Monday, August 25, at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London. His chosen Proteus stipulation is fans interact starting with FANS BRING THE WEAPONS!
This match will mark Hauser\’s 16th match of his professional wrestling career. He won the gold at PROGRESS Chapter 179 in a five-way that included both Miller and Crowley. Hauser ended Miller\’s title reign, adding another layer of drama as the pair prepare to do battle in this upcoming four-way title match.
It remains to be seen what weapons fans will provide for the four wrestlers when they battle at PROGRESS\’ 100th event in the Electric Ballroom. One thing for sure though is that Hauser will have to overcome some serious odds if he plans on leaving with the gold.
Jeff Hardy has seen his fair share of demons, issues that have often cost him in his wrestling career. Speaking to the Outside the Ring podcast, Hardy reflected on how these personal issues continue to resonate in his daily life.
\”When I think about my issues in my personal life with drugs and alcohol, naturally, a lot of shame and guilt.\”
Jeff addressed how these issues harmed his professional life, recalling a 2003 push in WWE that saw him work with The Rock in the ring. Despite this push, Jeff would be let go from WWE shortly after as he was unable to deal with his substance issues at the time.
Jeff has been incident free since his June 2022 arrest, one that would cost him dearly during his run in All Elite Wrestling. Looking back, Jeff believes that his struggles may have inspired others in their own lives.
\”I think it\’s helped in the long run because I think it was just the journey I was meant to live, man. Because when you just think about people that I have helped that I\’ll I\’ll never meet in my lifetime, it just because I know there\’s a lot a lot of people that really care and love me for who I am and what I do and respect all that stuff.\”
For Jeff Hardy today, his priority is firmly on his wife and their children. Beyond that, Jeff has been able to find new passions and hobbies that never would have happened had he not cleaned up his act.
\”Three years sober. Yeah. Three. And sobriety is like my motocross track for example, man, I would have never [made that] if I hadn\’t got sober again. I would have never finished that. I would never talk about finishing a waterfall and building a waterfall… if I was still drinking and drugging. So, I\’m just so glad to be in love with life again.\”
Today, fans can find Jeff Hardy on TNA programming, where he and his brother continue to entertain fans. For the Charismatic Enigma, it thankfully appears that his personal struggles are finally in his past.
WWE Women\’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch will put the gold on the line against Natalya during the August 18, WWE Raw. For Lynch, she doesn\’t just plan on retaining, but hopes to beat the most vicious side of the Canadian veteran.
On Instagram, Lynch demanded that her oppenent \”bring this version of Nattie,\” adding that \”I\’m sick of Natalya.\” Outside of WWE in promotions like AAA and Josh Barnett\’s Bloodsport, Natalya has worked as Nattie Neidhart and shown a violent side rarely seen by her in WWE. Natalya/Nattie didn\’t hold back in the comments, telling Lynch \”You don’t get to dictate who the F*ck I am.\”
For Natalya, she has a chance to capture her first taste of singles gold in close to a decade. Her last singles title reign saw her hold the SmackDown Women\’s Championship for a couple of months in 2017. Natalya won the title from Naomi at that year\’s SummerSlam and her reign was ended by Charlotte Flair.
As for Lynch, she\’s in her first reign as Intercontinental Champion, a title she doesn\’t plan on losing anytime soon. It remains to be seen what side of Natalya fans get in the ring on Raw.
Jeff Hardy knows that he is in the later stages of his wrestling career, but there\’s still some matches that the TNA World Tag Team Champion hopes to have. Hardy appeared n the Outside The Ring podcast, where he named several wrestlers from both AEW and WWE who remain on his bucket list.
\”MJF, Orange Cassidy, Roman Reigns. Cody Rhodes actually would be incredible because he’s the biggest wrestler on planet Earth as we speak.\”
While Hardy has his eyes on several future opponents, he only wants one for his final ever match. That opponent? None other than WWE\’s Tribal Chief.
\”A Roman Reigns match would be pretty epic for a last match. All those years he was a champion, just took it to such a different level.\”
Hardy was part of AEW for multiple years, though parted ways with the company in 2024. A lengthy suspension meant that Jeff spent much of his \’All-Elite tenure\’ out of the ring, keeping him from some of his dream opponents.
As for WWE, a return could be possible, especially as the Hardys have expressed interest in going back. Whether it’s MJF’s sharp wit, Orange Cassidy’s unique style, Cody Rhodes’ global stature, or Roman Reigns’ sheer dominance—Jeff Hardy is ready for them all.
The Rock floored countless opponents with the People\’s Elbow, which is today one of wrestling\’s most iconic moves. Now the attack has moved from the ring to the gridiron as part of Madden \’26. In footage shared online, a member of the New York Giants hits the legendary move as a taunt after finding the end zone.
This isn\’t the first connection between WWE and the world of Madden. Brock Lesnar appeared in Madden NFL 06, making him the only individual to have appeared as a playable character in WWE, Madden, and UFC video games. Lesnar\’s appearance followed a real-life stint in Minnesota Vikings training camp.
Roman Reigns made an intriguing appearance in Madden NFL 24—but not as a playable character in the traditional sense. Instead, he was included as part of the Reel Deals promotion within Madden’s Ultimate Team (MUT) mode. This allowed players to collect and use digital cards representing Reigns in team-building challenges rather than playing as him on the field.
Whether it be in the ring or on the big screen, The Rock is a true star of entertainment. Now, the Brahma Bull\’s presence has reached the world of NFL video games.
WWE NXT’s Adriana Rizzo recently shared that she is out of action after suffering a torn ACL and meniscus. In a new video shared on YouTube, Rizzo tried to keep positive, though admitted that the injury was \”pretty traumatic.\”
Much of Rizzo\’s video was dedicated to showing her rehabilitation ahead of her surgery. While Rizzo is able to walk around and do some exercises, fans shouldn\’t expect her back anytime soon.
\”I blew out my knee. Bad… Tore my ACL, meniscus and MCL damage, so it\’s going to be a while \’til I\’m back wrestling, and I\’m back doing anything.\”
Rizzo\’s video spans the weeks after her initial injury. Despite her in-ring return still being a long time off, the NXT Superstar was feeling positve just two weeks after the initial setback.
\”The current update is that I feel pretty good. I don\’t have any pain or instability. Nothing crazy.\”
Rizzo chalked up her tear as a \”freak accident\” in training, and showed viewers the moment in which this injury occurred. As fans await the return of the 26-year-old Superstar, Rizzo is doing all she can to remain active and positive.
AEW\’s Konosuke Takeshita has etched his name in the history books by winning the 2025 G1 Climax. Takeshita defeated EVIL in the finals of G1 Climax 35 at Ariake Arena, claiming the tournament trophy and a shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
Despite being a singles match, the bout was anything but one-on-one. EVIL\’s House of Torture allies would make themselves known often in the match, aiding their member. Rocky Romero rushed to ringside to help even the odds, while Zack Sabre Jr. physically removed Ren Narita from the equation.
In a post-match speech, Takeshita revealed that doesn’t just want to challenge at Wrestle Kingdom 20—he wants to walk into the Tokyo Dome as champion. Now, Takeshita intends to challenge for the gold, currently held by Zack Sabre Jr. before the January 2026 event.
Takeshita\’s victory capped off a career-defining G1 run, and his celebration was punctuated by a live performance from BALLISTIK BOYZ, the group behind this year’s tournament theme song. It remains to be seen if Takeshita can follow up this victory with an even bigger one when he challenges for the title.
John Cena stunned fans in March 2025 by turning heel, marking Cena\’s first official run as a villain in over two decades. In the proceeding weeks, John would explain his heel turn in promos, but believes these didn\’t live up to expectations.
Cena\’s first post-heel turn appearance came in Brussels, Belgium, though he received a mixed response as many fans cheered the WWE icon. Speaking at Fan Expo Chicago, Cena opened up on what he believes was a failure in Europe.
\”I wasn\’t upset. No, I failed. Ain\’t nothing wrong with that. You can learn from failure, right? I went up there and bombed. S*** happens.\”
When asked about the decision to turn heel, John kept coy, saying he would address it after his retirement. Cena made clear he doesn\’t want to spoil anything about the remainder of his WWE career, even by accident in interviews.
John has since turned face again and is set to battle Logan Paul later this month. While many fans appreciate Cena giving a heel turn many fans thought they\’d never see, the WWE icon is ready to go out as his authentic self.
Mandy Rose had two runs in WWE NXT, her first as a young star in training and her second as an established Superstar of the ring. Speaking with her husband and former NXT talent Tino Sabbatelli on their Power Alphas podcast, Mandy recalled having to clean the rings early into her WWE career.
“We had to clean the rings in NXT ’cause there was like a— a herpes outbreak, guys. I don’t even know if everyone knows that one.”
Several Superstars were forced to clean the ring, not just to keep things hygenic, but also as a sign of humility early into their careers. For Rose, she believes this approach helped keep talent humble, no matter what success they may have had before WWE.
“This is the beautiful thing too. I get why they do this for most people as well. It’s because there’s always, you know, a bottom. You always have to work your way up.”
Mandy contrasted her early years with WWE’s current developmental approach where talent arrive in various manners. Whether its an indie talent, a huge name from elsewhere, or an NIL signing, Rose believes that newcomers dring her time were expected to set up lights and clean mats.
Cleaning a ring after a herpes outbreak may sound extreme, but for Mandy and her peers, it was simply part of paying dues. For Rose, who hasn\’t wrestled since WWE, it was all a lesson in keeping herself humble in the massive promotion.
According to Fightful Select, the former TNA World Champion has been struggling physically following a string of serious injuries. In addition to that, Callihan has been \”helping out behind the scenes a lot lately.\” When not working for TNA either on or off screen, Callihan promotes the Pro Wrestling Revolver promotion.
Callihan received a fitting send-off during the show by the crowd as well as those backstage. While many wrestlers lined up to pay respect, Eric Young disrupted the moment, blaming Joe Hendry for TNA’s issues. This earned a response from Hendry, teasing a future feud. As for Callihan, he had a message for the fans after the event.
For Callihan, though, this was a send-off after an impressive in-ring career both in and out of TNA. Whatever comes next, Callihan is dedicated to giving his all, even if it won\’t be within the squared circle.
Alberto El Patron will make a return to WWE, if Rey Mysterio has anything to say about it, despite the former World Champion\’s bad blood within the Sports Entertainment giant. Appearing at WWExAAA Worlds Collide, Mysterio responded to the fans chanting for Alberto. In Spanish, the WWE Hall of Famer told the crowd \”I\’ll bring him, wait on me.\”
Mysterio\’s bold claim comes in spite of WWE\’s attitude to El Patron. WWE reportedly never has plans to bring back Alberto, who was released in 2014 and 2016. At the time of the acquisition of AAA, WWE distanced itself from Alberto, then the AAA Mega Champion. WWE did not feature El Patron following the acquisition and quickly had him lose the title to El Hijo del Vikingo.
El Patron and Mysterio have an established past, as Rey was Alberto\’s first opponent upon his WWE arrival in 2010. Now, fans can expect the pair to fight again in a WWE ring, if Mysterio has his way.
D-Von Dudley spent several years in TNA Wrestling under Dixie Carter’s leadership. While there were some issues between the two sides, they became a thing of the past during the funeral of Hulk Hogan.
Speaking on Duke Loves Rasslin, Dudley said the ceremony was bittersweet. While he was grateful to reconnect with many he\’s worked with, he was sad that it took the death of a wrestling icon to put them in touch. For D-Von, the ceremony was his first face-to-face with Carter since his exit from TNA.
\”We had said little things to each other here and there in texts and comments on posts about the kids and stuff. Other than that, we really hadn’t seen each other in a while.\”
Dudley admitted that any hard feelings he once carried toward TNA had faded away. Instead of letting long-standing issues simmer, D-Von meeting Carter again gave him the closure he needed.
\”The hard feelings that I might have had for the company during that time were all washed away, you know? It was the old regime that I had problems letting go of my feelings with.\”
With a fresh mindset, D-Von can look back on his time working under Carter more favorably. Reuniting with her helped D-Von move on from what he felt was an unceremonious exit from TNA over a decade earlier.
\”I was able to finally let go when I saw Dixie, and we talked, we laughed, we joked, and we said, you know, it shouldn’t take things like this to bring us together.\”
D-Von will soon return to TNA Wrestling as he and Bubba will challenge the Hardys for the TNA World Tag Team Titles. And when D-Von Dudley next steps foot in a TNA ring, he will do so without the bitterness of the past.
One former WWE Superstar will be sticking with TNA Wrestling after re-signing with the promotion at the Emegence event. During a segment, TNA President Carlos Silva, Tommy Dreamer, Jazz, Xia Brookside, Masha Slamovich, and Léi Y?ng Lee appeared in the ring.
Dreamer announced that TNA had a new contract to offer Lee and spoke highly of the former Superstar. Lee was visibly moved by the words and signed a new contract, keeping her as a TNA Knockout.
Lee was part of WWE for seven years where she worked under the ring name Xia Li. The first Chinese woman to compete in a WWE ring, Lee spent years in WWE NXT before being called up to the main roster in 2021.
Lee has faced some of TNA\’s top names since her arrival in September 2024, including challenge for the Knockouts Title at Against All Odds 2025. While she is yet to hold gold in TNA, this new contract means it may be just a matter of time before Lee wins a championship.
Xavier Woods will battle Penta during the August 18, episode of WWE Raw, and the New Day member is seeing the edge. At the latest tapng of SmackDown, Woods spoke with Petey Williams, the TNA alum who now works behind the scenes for WWE.
Woods sought Williams advice for how to counter Penta\’s Mexican Destroyer, a move Williams used during his in-ring career. When Petey clarified that the move is the Canadian Destroyer, Woods argued that the Mexican Destroyer is more impressive, prompting Williams to walk off without giving him advice.
Penta Vs. Woods won\’t be the only highlight of the August 18, Raw, set to take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Roman Reigns, CM Punk, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, Rhea Ripley, and Jey Uso are all slated to appear.
Penta has put several opponents away with his Mexican Destroyer since his arrival in WWE in January of this year. While Woods hopes to avoid a similar fate, he will have to walk into the match without the knowledge of how to counter the devastating finisher.
King of the Hill is back on the air, and the show\’s influence ws impossible to miss during the August 15, episode of WWE SmackDown. The ring featured a custom wrestling mat with the King of the Hill logo prominently displayed in the center. LED boards around the arena and ring posts were lit up, highlighting the return of the animated show.
It\’s not just on-screen that WWE\’s crossover with King of the Hill can be felt. Sheamus and Johnny Gargano will create videos inspired by moments from the show, Variety reports.
The new season of King of the Hill is now streaming on Hulu, and has been well-received by fans so far. While Hank, his family, and his friends didn\’t appear in person during SmackDown, the show demonstrated WWE\’s willingness to dive deep into crossover branding.
Sami Callihan kept his promise by retiring after his loss at the TNA Emergence event. Going into the show, the stipulation was clear: If Callihan didn\’t defeat Mike Santana in their Baltimore Street Fight, the former Impact World Champion would be foroced to retire.
Callihan was defeated after Santana hit him with Spin The Block. True to his word, Callihan left his boots in the ring and exited the squared circle for the last time.
Backstage, TNA talent greeted him with respect and appreciation, though Eric Young had a different response. Young, also a former World Champion, told Callihan “Don’t buy into the love of your peers.\” Young then shifted his focus to Joe Hendry. “Everything in TNA that’s going wrong right now is Hendry’s fault.”
Callihan leaves wrestling with over 1,000 matches to his name and several title reigns both in and out of TNA. With in-ring retirements often resulting in in-ring returns, it remains to be seen if he is truly gone for good.
\’Timeless\’ Toni Storm has battled some of wrestling\’s top names in AEW, and now the Women\’s World Champion is taking on DC Comics\’ Power Girl. The two appear engaged in battle on a variant cover of DC K.O. #2
The new series follows a test of some of DC\’s greatest heroes and villains, forced to do battle in a massive collision of names. A preview for issue 2 reads:
The tournament is in full swing. Heroes have fallen. Darkseid is near. The 32 champions have been chosen, and now they must compete to earn the Heart of Apokolips. The first challenge? Battling across a deadly arena to acquire new weapons of war. The greatest powers of the DC Universe are up for grabs, and whoever holds them will advance to the next level. Superman has his doubts that the Justice League is doing the right thing, but there are others who have no problem killing to get what they want…
Storm\’s appearance on the variant cover demonstrates how AEW\’s top woman continues to attract attention, both in and out of the ring. The Timeless One was one of six AEW wrestlers spotlighted in short stories that appeared within issues of DC Comics titles in 2024. The stories were collected into the AEW Origins hardcover.
In the ring, Storm continues to shine, even with the forerver-champion of ROH Athena looming. Whether it\’s Athena, Mercedes Mone, or Power Girl, Toni Storm is proving Timeless in every facet.
Liv Morgan’s recovery from shoulder surgery is progressing, but it appears her return to the ring is still months away. According to a new PWInsider Elite update, Morgan was scheduled for a medical evaluation this week to check on her progress.
The current hope within WWE is that Morgan will be cleared for in-ring action by early 2026, provided her recovery continues on schedule. Morgan has been out of action since June after suffering a shoulder injury.
Morgan underwent surgery in Birmingham, Alabama, under the care of Dr. Jeff Dugas at Andrews Sports Medicine, a facility familiar to injured WWE talent. While an exact date for a return remains unclear, her rehab is going well according to Dr. Kevin Wilk, Associate Clinical Director and Co-Founder of Champion Sports Medicine.
With the women’s division continuing to evolve in her absence, all eyes will be on how Morgan re-enters the scene — and whether her time away fuels an even bigger comeback.
Karrion Kross and Scarlett are asking for top-tier rates on the independent wrestling scene following their WWE departure, it has been claimed. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, someone involved in indie wrestling mentioned the couple is charing a \”very high price tag\” for their services.
While no figure was given in the report, this reported price tag reflects that the star power the pair would bring to an event. The source added that after their conversation with Kross and Scarlett \”they weren’t buying any of this regarding the WWE departure.\”
Many have been skeptical about whether Kross and Scarlett have actually left WWE, though Kross has claimed this is not a \’work.\’ Given recent circumstances, including Seth Rollins\’ fake injury, it\’s not difficult to see why some fans aren\’t exactly trusting what Kross is claiming.
The couple\’s next confirmed appearance is at The Big Event NY’s “EXS Entertainment x Sports Expo” on November 15. It remains to be seen what\’s next for the pair, but they\’re certainly not afraid to charge big for their services.
