Mercedes Moné already holds nine championship titles in wrestling, but The CEO of AEW is always on the hunt for more. Recently, it was confirmed that STARDOM\’S Saya Kamitani and AZM will battle in Korakuen Hall on September 27. This match will see the winner take home the World of STARDOM Championship (held by Kamitani) and the NJPW Strong Women\’s Title (held by AZM.)
Moné would react in a post on X with a simple eyeballs emoji. While she didn\’t say any words, the CEO\’s message was clear: She has eyes on both belts.
Moné has yet to hold gold for STARDOM but is a former NJPW Strong Women\’s Champion. The CEO held the gold earlier this year and lost the title to AZM in a triple-threat match which included Mina Shirakawa.
Moné is on the hunt for her tenth and eleventh championship title in wrestling. With Mercedes\’ efforts for gold already taking her worldwide, it may be just a matter before fans see her competing for some of the top titles in Japan.
Wade Barrett has provided crucial context after it was reported that he would no longer be part of the WWE commentary team. Barrett took to X to respond to speculation that his time as a commentator had ended and shared that fans can expect him back soon enough.
situation, Barrett explained that WWE had simply granted him a couple of weeks off for personal time, which he booked nine months ago. He confirmed that he will be back to work as usual afterward, dismissing the story as a “complete non-story.”
I usually ignore BS reports like this, but it’s causing needless hate to be spewed towards people I work with.
WWE have kindly given me a couple of weeks off for personal time (booked nine months ago), and then I’m back to business as usual. A complete non-story. The end. https://t.co/ZPcBQatnCK
In Barrett\’s absence, it has been reported that Michael Cole and Corey Graves will serve as the permanent commentary team for both Raw and SmackDown. Joe Tessitore is stepping aside to cover college football.
With his return to the main roster, Graves will be leaving WWE NXT to the two-man booth of Vic Joseph and Booker T. Once Barrett returns, it should become clearer how WWE intends to structure its commentary rotation moving forward.
AJ Lee\’s return to WWE is officially here, and fans won\’t have to wait long to see the former Divas Champion back on TV. According to PWInsider, the talk backstage at the September 5, episode of WWE SmackDown was that AJ is expected to appear on this Monday’s Raw. Her appearance will likely set-up the rumored mixed tag-match, pitting herself and husband CM Punk against fellow wrestling couple Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.
AJ returned after over a decade away during the final segment of SmackDown. Punk, after being slapped yet again by Becky Lynch, reiterated that he would never hit a woman, but knew someone who would. AJ\’s theme then played to a massive pop and she was able to get the best of Lynch.
AJ posed with the Women\’s Intercontinental Title to end the show, signalling that the tag-match rumored for WrestlePalooza isn\’t the only match she plans on having. Currently, no matches have been confirmed for the returning Superstar.
The three-time former WWE Divas Champion and multi-time Slammy Award winner has signed a new contract with WWE, signalling that plenty more big moments are coming. As for what AJ has planned for Raw, fans will just have to wait and find out…
A recent comment from Wade Barrett at Nikki Bella stirred up controversy during the Clash in Paris pre-show, as Barrett referred to Nikki as \”desperate.\” According to Barrett, Nikki, who would go on to challenge Women\’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch was “desperate to prove she still has it against this new generation that have changed the game.”
Nikki retaliated on her podcast, claiming Barrett avoided her during the post-Clash in Paris episode of Raw. Barrett would refute the claim, adding that he\’d like to have a conversation with Nikki about the comment in question.
Now, that conversation has seemingly happened. In a new post on X, the WWE commentator shared that he and Nikki have \”smoothed things over.\” Wade added that he\’s been part of the \’Bella Army\’ since their time in FCW and highlighted that difference of perspectives can be acceptable, but the abuse Nikki often receives is not.
Great news, fight fans.. @NikkiAndBrie and I have spoken, we’ve smoothed things over, and I’ve graciously been allowed back into the Bella Army. Fully paid-up member since FCW 2008 ???
A difference of perspective – to which we are all entitled – but to be clear, some of the…
Barrett\’s post reflects a maturity between the two as they were able to sit down and discuss the comment in question. Rather than let the issue fester and differences grow, both Wade and Nikki can now move forward in their respective roles in WWE.
MJF and Alicia Atout have tied the knot in a ceremony that featured some notable wrestling names. On X, AEW commentator Taz shared his congrats to the happy couple, wishing the pair \”nothing but a lifetime of happiness.\” An image from the wedding shows that Taz attended as did his son HOOK.
MJF would also take to X to react to his big day. Calling the wedding \”the death of a bachelor,\” MJF vowed to remember his special day even when he\’s old and grey.
Even when I’m old and grey I’m gonna feel the way I do today.
The couple began dating in 2023 and would get engaged in November that same year. Their relationship has been alluded to on AEW programming from time-to-time, though MJF has never broken away from his \’Scumbag\’ persona. Before finding one another, MJF had been engaged to artist Naomi Rosenblum. Atout was previously in a relationship with Richard Holliday. She managed Holliday during their time in MLW.
We here at SEScoops are sending our congratulations to the happy couple!
John Cena has wrestled for the final time on WWE SmackDown, a brand that Cena was a staple of for much of his wrestling career. In his final encounter on the blue brand, Cena battled United States Champion Sami Zayn in an encounter that saw several throwbacks to John\’s epic past.
During the match, John delivered a Pop-Up Powerbomb, a nod to his wars with Kevin Owens in 2015. Owens\’ main-roster debut match would see him beat Cena clean, instantly putting him on the map as someone to take seriously.
Cena would also hit an Angle Slam and an Ankle lock, honoring WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. John made his SmackDown debut in 2002 by answering Kurt\’s open challenge, ushering in the \’Ruthless Aggression\’ era in the process.
John Cena paying homage to his past opponents :
• KURT ANGLE – Angle Slam/Ankle Lock • EDGE – Spear • CM PUNK – GTS • KEVIN OWENS – Pop Up Powerbomb
He wasn’t able to wrestle everyone but showed love and respect to all of them ?
A GTS in honor of CM Punk was fitting given that the show was taking place in Chicago. A spear in the corner was a nod to Edge, considered by many to be John\’s greatest rival. John delivered a wild-eyed performance, making clear that this was a tribute to the Canadian.
A JBL-inspired Clothesline From Hell would complete John\’s tributes to his past rivals in his final SmackDown match. With only a handful of days left in his career, it remains to be seen what else Cena pulls out before saying his in-ring farewell.
The September 12, episode of WWE SmackDown will be a stacked show with plenty of huge matches and moments already confirmed. Here\’s what\’s already been confirmed for the SmackDown, the penultimate episode of the blue brand before WrestlePalooza
Brock Lesnar to Appear
After decimating John Cena on the September 5, show, Brock Lesnar\’s return to the blue brand has been confirmed by WWE. The Beast Incarnate will be on the September 12, show, and one can only imagine that somebody will be taking a trip to Suplex City.
Randy Orton Vs. Drew McIntyre
After weeks of feuding, including battling at SummerSlam in tag-team action, Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre will go one-on-one to settle their rivalry. With both being former WWE World Champions, fans can expect an epic clash on SmackDown.
Tiffany Stratton (c) Vs. Jade Cargill
Tiffany Stratton will defend her WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill. Cargill was named the number one contender last Friday. The pair battled at WWE SummerSlam where Stratton retained her gold.
The U.S. Title will be on the line each and every week for as long as Sami Zayn is champion, as confirmed during SmackDown. Amid Cena\’s promo, Zayn interrupted, earning boos from the Chicago crowd. Zayn wants to be a fighting champion like Cena was and give opportunities to up and coming talent, and shared that he wanted to bring back the US Title Open Challenge, but wanted Cena’s blessing.
Cena gave his blessing, calling it a great idea. Cena also shared that he\’d be the first person to answer the open challenge, kicking off a U.S. Title match between the two.
John introduced the hugely-popular open challenge during his reign in 2015, his first reign with the gold in a decade. Zayn made his main roster debut by answering John\’s challenge in Montreal, though suffered an injury during the match. Cena would have two reigns that year, which were ended by Seth Rollins and Alberto Del Rio.
Now, Sami will give Superstars a chance to take the gold from him and showcase the talent of the WWE roster. It remains to be seen how long Sami will be able to hold the gold given how title matches will be coming fast for the United States Champion.
The September 5, episode of WWE SmackDown in the Allstate Arena is shaping up to be one of the biggest episodes of the blue brand of all time. WWE has confirmed some huge names for the show, with others rumored to be appearing.
Confirmed Names
CM Punk will make a featured appearance in his hometown of Chicago and is expected to receive a huge response. Punk is expected to address the controversy at Clash in Paris and his issues with Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.
John Cena returns to Chicago for what WWE is billing as his final appearance in the city as an active wrestler. The WWE icon has had some of his biggest moments in the Windy City, and fans can expect a huge send-off tonight, ahead of his farewell in December.
Sami Zayn will be bringing his newly-won United States Championship to Chicago for tonight\’s SmackDown. Seven days after winning the gold from Solo Sikoa, what\’s next for the Canadian Superstar?
Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre are both advertised as featured superstars for tonight\’s episode, with WWE promotions highlighting their involvement in the Chicago event.
Expected Appearances
Brock Lesnar is reportedly scheduled to travel to Chicago for tonight\’s show, according to Fightful Select, though his exact role remains unconfirmed. Sources indicate his presence is connected to his ongoing rivalry with John Cena and the potential buildup to a match at Wrestlepalooza. Lesnar returned to WWE TV after a two-year exile at SummerSlam 2025, attacking Cena.
AJ Lee Speculation
While not confirmed for a physical appearances, sources who spoke to Fightful Select have heavily implied that AJ will feature in some capacity on SmackDown. This report comes amid consensus that AJ will return to WWE in time for WrestlePalooza, where she and CM Punk will likely face Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins in a mixed tag team match.
The combination of hometown hero CM Punk, John Cena\’s farewell and a potential AJ Lee return has made this SmackDown a must-see affair as WWE continues its build toward Wrestlepalooza in just over two weeks.
Excitement is at a fever pitch over the expected return of AJ Lee to WWE, over a decade after her final match with the promotion. As fans eagerly await the former Diva\’s Champion, we look back at the legacy AJ has already carved in the ring.
Active Years: 2010-2015
After working in FCW, AJ was part of the third season (the all-female season of the original WWE NXT.) Though she didn\’t win the show to earn a contract, she made her SmackDown debut on May 27, 2011. AJ remained active until the Raw after WrestleMania 31 in April 2015 and would announce her retirement that same month.
Lee is a three-time Divas Champion, a record-tying number, and her 295-day reign with the title was the record-longest before being broken by Nikki Bella. Away from titles, AJ was celebrated through multiple Slammy Awards, including Diva of the Year in both 2012 and 2014, as well as Kiss of the Year in 2012 (with John Cena).
Defining Moments
The Kaitlyn Feud One of AJ’s most compelling storylines involved her role as the “secret admirer” of Kaitlyn, which culminated in a betrayal that ended the \’Chickbusters.\’ Their feud would culminate with their much-celebrated Divas Championship match at Payback 2013 that saw AJ win the gold. It was only fitting that Kaitlyn\’s final match as a full-time WWE Superstar would come against her former friend.
WrestleMania 28’s 18-Second Shock AJ played a key role in one of WrestleMania’s most replayed moments when her kiss distracted Daniel Bryan during his World Heavyweight Championship match against Sheamus, leading to his infamous 18-second loss. This moment became a turning point as it would mark the end of the Bryan-AJ partnership on TV, though it would hardly be the last time the pair shared the screen.
Main Event Caliber From 2012 to 2013, AJ was consistently featured in WWE’s top storylines, working alongside main event names such as Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Kane, Dolph Ziggler, and John Cena. Her presence in these high-profile angles came at a time when the idea of a woman in the main-event scene was unheard of, and would start a path still being followed today.
Authority and Power In 2012, AJ made history as the youngest female authority figure on WWE television when she became Raw’s General Manager. The move also marked the end of her brief engagement to Daniel Bryan, who\’d tried to win her back months after WrestleMania 28. Her unpredictable and entertaining tenure added a fresh dynamic to Monday nights during a pivotal era.
The Pipebombshell AJ delivered one of the most memorable promos in women’s wrestling history when she eviscerated the cast of Total Divas on live television. Dubbed the \’Pipebombshell\’ a nod to AJ\’s future husband CM Punk, Lee called out WWE celebrating women for being reality TV stars, than as wrestlers. Declaring that \”none of you can lace my Chuck Taylors\” AJ made herself loud and clear in a promo fondly remembered a dozen years later.
The Paige Rivalry AJ’s feud with Paige in 2014defined WWE’s “anti-Diva” era. Their rivalry—highlighted by a shocking title change the night after WrestleMania XXX and at subsequent pay-per-views—set the stage for more serious women’s wrestling storylines and helped pave the way for the Women’s Revolution. This feud saw two women who weren\’t being promoted for titilation, showing fans what the future would hold for women\’s storylines.
Final Victory At WrestleMania 31, AJ teamed with Paige to defeat the Bella Twins in what would be her final triumph on WWE’s grandest stage. This victory closed her career on a definitive high note.
Lasting Impact
Though she only spent four years on WWE\’s main roster, AJ\’s influence helped revolutionize the division. From her title wins to holding her own on the mic with both women and men, AJ showed her value. Now, as fans eagerly await her return, all eyes turn on AJ and what her comeback will look like.
WWE\’s Rhea Ripley and the Terrifier horror franchise are stepping in the ring as part of a spine-chilling crossover curtosy of Hot Topic. On X, Ripley shared that Hot Topic has released two collab shirts that feature the WWE Superstar and Terrifier\’s main character Art the Clown.
While Art has yet to appear in a WWE ring, the killer clown does have a wrestling connection. In the second and third instalments of the franchise, Chris Jericho plays a nurse who comes face to face with the devilish Art. In June of this year, Ripley named actor David Howard Thornton as the celebrity she wants to meet the most. She also put her name forward for a role in Terrifier 4, adding that she wouldn\’t have a problem if she was killed in the film.
This crossover continues to demonstrate Ripley\’s growing popularity in the mainstream. With her \’Mami\’ attitude and gothic aesthetic, Ripley continues to win over people, both hardcore wrestling fans and non-wrestling fans alike, as well as award-winning artists.
In WWE, Ripley has found herself afoul of Asuka, who like Art, displays a devilish, but clownish persona on TV. Should Ripley found herself out-numbered by the might of Asuka and Kairi Sane, there\’s a certain clown that the Eradicator may have to call in.
Questions remain over Bryan Danielson\’s future in the ring, and there\’s practically nothing that could allure the former World Champion back into the squared circle. Speaking with SENQ 693, Bryan made clear there\’s \”not a single thing\” on his bucket list. Instead, the American Dragon, who will mark one-year since his most recent match next month, has achieved all he has done.
While Bryan has nothing left to accomplish in wrestling, he made clear that the industry \”is something that I still love to this day.\” Bryan recalled a recent interviewer asking him about a potential acting future post-wrestling, an idea Bryan quickly shot down. Instead, Bryan intends to spend his time reading and watching wrestling, as well as showing younger stars things they can learn from the past.
Bryan\’s most recent match was at AEW WrestleDream 2024, where he lost the AEW World Champion to former ally Jon Moxley. Bryan has stated multiple times that he isn\’t sure if his return to the ring will ever happen. Though he got physical at AEW All In: Texas in a match that saw Moxley\’s reign end, questions continue to loom over his future.
Whatever comes next, Bryan remains an active part of shaping AEW, even if he\’s not active in the ring on TV. For now, Danielson is satisfied with his career, a tenure most wrestlers could only dream of.
SEScoops has exclusive news regarding Matt Riddle\’s no-show at a UK Charity Wrestling event, including the reaction from the crowd. We can confirm that the crowd was immediately disappointed when Al Snow, the General Manager of GWK shared that Riddle would not be appearing.
At the event, neither Snow nor any member of the GWK team made reference to the controversy, instead simply saying Riddle wouldn\’t be appearing. Riddle reportedly no-showed the event to appear elsewhere, and has shared criticisms over GWK in recent days, though has returned their deposit.
The reveal that Grado would be replacing Riddle was met with a huge ovation, with one fan telling our reporter that the Scottish wrestler was a much better option than the former WWE U.S. Champion. Grado and others were part of the post-show meet and greet, where fans were given the option for refunds if they had paid to meet Riddle.
Riddle\’s name was only uttered one other time during the show when Grado made reference to the Riddle situation during his closing promo. The mention of Riddle\’s name was immediately met with heavy boos by the crowd, evidently frustrated by Riddle not appearing as advertised. Ot
Merchandise, including shirts and posters, prominently featured Riddle. The show was the first GWK event and saw Grado defeat Simon Miller in the show\’s main event. Other notable names at the event include WWE NXT UK alum Amir Jordan and Dave Mastiff, Love Island star turned wrestler Adam Maxted, UK Gladiators finalist Wesley Nsereko and SoCl Val, who served as host and ring announcer.
The TNA World Championship reign of Trick Williams will be in serious jeopardy at Bound for Glory when the NXT Superstar faces a familiar challenger. On the September 4 episode of Impact, Director of Authority Santino Marella announced that Williams will defend against Mike Santana at Bound for Glory, set to take place on October 12.
After the announcement, Santana came out and criticized Williams for “hiding out until his next TNA match.\” Santana teased that if the TNA World Champion is going to avoid TNA Wrestling until Bound for Glory, then he may have to confront him in WWE NXT.
This will be the sixth match between Williams and Santana, who first battled for the TNA World Title during the June 3, episode of WWE NXT. Currently, the pair are tied with two wins each, which includes singles matches, a triple-threat, and tag team matches. The outlying match saw the pair on the same side, the losing side, of a six-man tag-team match against Dark State.
Santana has never held the TNA World Championship but plans to bring the gold home soon enough. Time will tell if he can do that, or if the NXT Superstar continues to hold hostage the richest prize in TNA Wrestling.
ROH Women\’s World Champion Athena has lived up to her moniker as the \’Forever Champion\’ by reaching 1,000 days with the gold. Athena captured the title at ROH Final Battle 2022 on December 10, 2022 by defeating Mercedes Martinez and has been able to hold on ever since.
Along her title reign, Athena has dispatched of Billie Starkz, Mina Shirakawa, Nyla Rose, Thekla, Alex Windsor, Thunder Rosa, and Willow Nightingale, to name just a few. Her most recent title defence, her 31st overall, came at ROH Death Before Dishonor in August 2025, where she defeated Shirakawa.
It\’s not just Ring of Honor that has been home to Athena\’s dominant reign. She has also put her title on the line at AEW events, as well as in STARDOM, Maple Leaf Pro, and other promotions. Her reign is the longer than all other ROH Women\’s World Title reigns combined, and the longest reign of any champion in ROH history, regardless of sex.
Athena has shown no sign of her title reign coming to an end anytime soon. As the War Goddess continues to thrive in this post-WWE chapter of her career, it remains to be seen who, if anyone, can topple the champ.
At WWE Clash in Paris, Nikki Bella challenged for the Women\’s Intercontinental Championship against Becky Lynch. Nikki would come up short in her pursuit of gold, and a comment made by Wade Barrett on commentary has stirred some drama.
During the Clash in Paris pre-show, Barrett took issue with Bella calling Becky Lynch desperate to stay at the top. The British wrestler-turned-commentator said that Nikki was “desperate to prove she still has it against this new generation that have changed the game.”
On her Nikki and Brie Show, Nikki addressed the claim she is \”desperate.\” Nikki said she\’d like to have a conversation with Wade, who \”avoided me on Monday\” at Raw in Paris. Nikki added that Wade avoided making eye contact with her in the hallway.\” She later said that the line didn\’t bother her, recalling sitting backstage getting ready for her match, hearing Barrett and feeling \”I get it.\”
Barrett has now responded on X, sharing that he had no idea she felt this way about his line. While Wade is eager to have a conversation with Nikki, he refuted the claim that he avoided her at Raw, calling it \”simply not true.\”
I had no idea Nicole felt this way, and I’m happy to have this ‘conversation’ any time she likes. I wish she’d brought it up when we said hello to each other at Raw, rather than via her podcast. I don’t understand the avoiding claim at all, simply not true. https://t.co/H7lkgKxkp0
Time will tell whether the two do indeed have the conversation both sides claim should happen. It\’s clear that what Barrett said had an effect on the WWE Hall of Famer, though Wade remains a part of the WWE commentary team.
Ronda Rousey\’s arrival in WWE in 2018 was a massive deal that made headlines in the mainstream for the wrestling giant. Now though, Rousey\’s time in WWE is history, and she believes that her legacy in the ring will soon be swept under the rug.
While speaking on the Lapsed Fan podcast, Rousey was asked about the ongoing growth of WWE\’s women\’s division, and whether she will be recognized. Rather than be highlighted as a massive female star who helped WWE\’s women\’s division grow in significance, Rousey said that “I don’t know if I’ll be part of that story about how women are main eventers.\”
Rousey was part of the first women\’s match to headline WrestleMania, a feat many feel would not have happened if not for the star power of the UFC alum. That match saw Rousey, then the Raw Women\’s Champion lose to Becky Lynch in a winner-takes-all triple threat which included SmackDown Women\’s Champion Charlotte Flair.
While Rousey believes WWE won\’t give her the proper credit, the former Raw and SmackDown Women\’s Champion \”don\’t give a f***!\” Rousey claimed that there\’s a lot of \”badass f***** gangster s*** that no one’s ever gonna know about.\” Rather than be annoyed, Rousey doesn\’t care, saying that she does this \”gangster s***\” not for the praise or credit, but because it\’s what she wants to do.
Rousey parted ways with WWE in 2023 and took a loss on her way out to her friend Shayna Baszler. Rousey has spoken critically of her time with WWE, especially the time under Vince McMahon. While Rousey has also spoken highly of her fellow women as part of the roster, she believes their names will be etched in the history books, without her involved.
The September 3, episode of AEW Dynamite aired from the legendary 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, a venue that was a home to the original ECW. With extreme energy at fever pitch, it was fitting that an ECW original was honored after the show.
Once Dynamite stopped rolling, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan emerged and spoke highly of Taz. The former ECW World Champion received a warm welcome from the Philly crowd before a banner was revealed, cementing Taz\’s place in the venue\’s Hardcore Hall of Fame.
Taz was handed the mic and reflected on his time in the 2300 Arena. The Human Suplex Machine remained humbled that the crowd in Philly never made him feel like an outsider despite his New York home.
\”Wrestling here, performing here as a New York guy, Philadelphia opened up their arms to a New York guy which I\’ll never forget that.\”
Taz was part of the original ECW for years and became one of the company\’s most iconic stars before his exit in 2000. Years later, Taz would be part of WWE\’s revival of ECW and would get physical at the One Night Stand events before settling into his role as a commentator.
Years after his in-ring career ended, Taz\’s time in ECW remains iconic to fans. It was only fitting that the ECW legend was honored in the building he fought in and wowed fans for so many years.
The Dungeon 2.0, the training facility of Natalya and Tyson Kidd, is busy training the next generation of wrestlers within its walls. On Instagram, Natalya shared a photo from the latest training session, revealing that Aalyah Mysterio, daughter of Rey Mysterio, has been getting in the ring. Aalyah had plenty of names to learn from, including Natalya, Kidd, her father Rey Mysterio, Apollo Crews, Angelo Dawkins, and B-Fab, among others.
Aalyah is no stranger to appearing in wrestling. An interruption of her birthday would kick off Rey\’s feud with CM Punk in 2010, a feud that resulted in Punk losing his hair. Years later, Aalyah got in the face of her brother Dominik at WrestleMania 39, and had a drink thrown on her by her big bro.
These weren\’t the only notable names at the Dungeon\’s latest training session. Eagle-eyed fans will spot WWE Hall of Famer Tatanka on the left-hand-side of the image. In recent days, Tatanka\’s sons Jeremiah and Joseph have also been training at the Dungeon 2.0.
Time will tell if Aalyah or Jeremiah ever make it to WWE, or if their time in the ring is more-so about their own physical fitness rather than pro-wrestling aspirations. Whatever the case may be, the Dungeon 2.0 is proving to be a hot bed of notable young names, leaving fans excited to see who\’s next to step out of the Dungeon and carve a legacy in the squared circle.
WWE/AEW alum Saraya has opened up on her mental health, sharing that she is feeling the most positive about herself and her situation than she has in years. On X, the British wrestler shared her \”random late night thoughts\” and included a photo of herself and her dogs for good measure.
This year I’ve been the happiest I’ve ever been. Everything feels just so much more positive. Personal. Business. Even when things aren’t easy, my mind set is just so much better. I feel like it’s noticeable? I dunno but making big changes and putting myself first FINALLY looks good on me
Random late night thoughts lol but.. This year I’ve been the happiest I’ve ever been. Everything feels just so much more positive. Personal. Business. Even when things aren’t easy, my mind set is just so much better. I feel like it’s noticeable? I dunno but making big changes… pic.twitter.com/T7oX1Kp1lE
Saraya’s message is especially meaningful given the challenges she has faced in the past. During her WWE career, she struggled with substance abuse and endured harassment after private photos were leaked without her consent. In 2017, she suffered a serious neck injury that sidelined her for nearly five years. In her new memoir, she also discusses surviving assault during her younger life.
While Saraya is thrilled with how things are going professionally and personally, fans eagerly await her next move. With her AEW run over, many have pointed to a WWE return. In July, Saraya shared that while she loves WWE, return talks hadn\’t happened yet. The British star wrestled as Paige for years, and has said that if a return does happen, she hopes to come back as her WWE persona.
Whatever\’s next for Saraya, she\’s ready to meet it head-on. With 2025 proving to be a great year already for her, the sky\’s the limit for the British wrestler.
UFC alum Quinton \’Rampage\’ Jackson has said a police investigation is apt in the wake of his son\’s attack on Syko Stu, but that Stu should be investigated. Speaking on the Ariel Helwani Show, the elder Jackson said that investigators should look into Stu, the victim of the attack, for times he\’s \”attacked somebody backstage and p***ed people off.\”
\”The police need to investigate that s***. How many times Syko Stu done attacked somebody backstage and p***ed people off, being drunk and s***?\”
The issues between Stu and Raja Jackson reportedly began when Stu hit Jackson with a beer can, believing it to be a spot between wrestlers. While Jackson reportedly accepted Stu\’s apology as the pair shook hands, Raja would later deliver a series of punches to the head of a seemingly unconscious Stu in the ring.
"The police need to investigate that s—. How many times Syko Stu done attacked somebody backstage and pissed people off, being drunk and s—."@Rampage4Real's final thoughts on his son's pro wrestling incident. pic.twitter.com/0AlEpieeG0
Rampage Jackson\’s comments continue to follow a trend from the UFC alum. Though he has said that Raja went too far with his attack, Rampage has accused Stu of bring drunk and reckless, adding that this has been the case at past events as well. To date, Jackson has yet to provide any evidence of this, and has similarly not provided evidence that Syko Stu has attaacked others backstage while intoxicated.
This situation has cast an ugly shadow over KnokX Pro Wrestling, a promotion that has been dropped as a WWE ID affiliate as a result. With this situation continuing to develop, it remains to be seen what the future holds for both Syko Stu and Raja Jackson.
AJ Lee and Naomi fought dozens of times, both on TV, at pay-per-view events, and at untelevised house shows, during Lee\’s first run with WWE. Lee\’s final match on the March 30, 2015, edition of WWE Raw would see the former Divas Champion team with Naomi and Paige (now Saraya) to defeat The Bella Twins and Natalya.
Lee\’s return is expected to be as part of the ongoing CM Punk feud against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. WWE Shop recently spoiled that AJ Lee\’s return is coming and that new merchandise is in the works, though deleted this post from their X account.
As for Naomi, she\’ll be out of action for several more months, and there\’s no word on how long she will be out post-birth. However long it is, Naomi is ready to share the ring with AJ Lee once more.
MLW World Champion Matt Riddle has taken aim at both CM Punk and AJ Lee, in the latest hot take from the former WWE Superstar. Speaking to TMZ Sports, Riddle branded Punk a \”p***y\” and added that he\’s already ready for a legitimate fight with the Best in the World.
Riddle then took aim at Punk\’s support for the women of WWE NXT, including his support for Cora Jade. In Riddle\’s eyes, the Chicago-Made star is too comfortable with female talent decades younger than him.
\”I think he’s fake and I think he’s a creep. I don’t know. I feel like he’s just lingering around the NXT locker room a little too much.\”
Punk married AJ Lee in 2014, with the former World Champion being served his WWE termination papers on his wedding day. Though claiming that \”I have no problems with her\” Riddle insinuated that Lee slept-around in wrestling.
\”I’m not one to talk, I’m a little f**ed up myself—but she did go get around from what I heard. But no disrespect to that.\”
Excitement is growing that AJ Lee will soon return to WWE, with her match expected to come in a matter of weeks at WrestlePalooza. Two years since his release, Riddle won\’t be on the card, and the \’Original Bro\’ continues to throw shade at those still in WWE.
AJ Mana recently claimed that he\’d been fired from his day job due to his role in Raja Jackson\’s attack on Syko Stu that shocked the wrestling world. Now, Mana is walking back on those claims, as he told the Something to Wrestle podcast:
\”[wORK TOLD ME] yOU\’RE NOT TECHNICALLY FIRED, BUT WE\’RE NOT REALLY ASKING YOU TO COME BACK TO WORK UNTIL THIS DISSIPATES.\”
Mana was the person who told Jackson to give Stu a \’receipt\’ after Stu hit Raja with a beer can. Though Stu apologized and he and Raja shook hands, Jackson would deliver a series of punches to the head of an unconscious Stu in the ring in a moment that has outraged fans.
Mana is not fired, despite in a previous interview claiming that his day job terminated him once they saw a video of his and Jackson through TMZ. Mana had previously claimed that his work had told him \”You’re an accessory to an attempted murder. We gotta let you go,\” but that no longer appears to be the case.
This situation has cast an ugly shadow over KnokX Pro Wrestling, a promotion that has been dropped as a WWE ID affiliate. While Mana may not be gone from his day job, despite his past comments, his future in wrestling, much like Jackson\’s, remains in doubt.
MLW World Champion Matt Riddle has refuted claims that he no-showed an independent wrestling event that raised funs for veterans and those reeling from the self-inflicted death of a loved one. In a video on Instagram, Riddle shared his side of the story.
“GWK, the reason I didn’t go is because you booked me a flight for Thursday for a show that’s happening Sunday. And you said you were booking me meet and greets, other matches, and appearances. You did none of that. I had nothing scheduled. What, I was gonna sit in a hotel room for two days in London? I told you multiple times I can’t do that, I wouldn’t do that, and I had work on Friday, Saturday, even Thursday. And I told you I’d fly to London on Saturday evening. You said you’d pay for it, and I said, ‘No, take it out of my pay, whatever.’ You guys refused.”
The show, hosted by the new Global Wrestling Kingdom promotion, took place in Barnsley, England on Sunday, August 31. In his video, Riddle also rejected the claim that the show was for charity, and believes GWK\’s first show will also be their last.
“So I flew to Miami and wrestled there, alright? Also, I never said I wouldn’t pay you guys back. That’s a lie. And this show wasn’t a charity event. That’s another lie, a last-second change. You also booked me the worst flight in history, bro—middle seat, no meal, no bag. GWK, this is probably your last run.”
The mayor of Barnsley opened the show with a ribbon-cutting before General Manager Al Snow shared that Riddle would not be appearing. In his place, the UK\’s own Grado made a surprise appearance and faced Simon Miller in the show\’s main event. Riddle\’s name was said during Grado\’s post-match speech and illicited boos from the crowd.
The situation is the latest controversy to the name of the former WWE Superstar, who had a series of issues ahead of his release in 2023. With Riddle claiming innocence over his GWK no-show, it remains to be seen what\’s next for the new promotion.
