  • CM Punk Picks Sensational Sherri, Raven for WWE 2K26 DLC Roster

CM Punk has named Sensational Sherri and Raven as his top picks for WWE 2K26 DLC characters, praising both legends for their lasting impact on professional wrestling.

In an interview with Complex, the WWE 2K26 cover star was asked which wrestlers he\’d like to see added to the game\’s already massive roster of over 400 playable characters.

\”For women, I think Sensational Sherri would be super cool. Because she was just such a badass. And I think you look back at her career and the stuff she did, whether it was in the ring or whether she was somebody\’s manager or whatever, like stuff holds up.\”

For the men\’s roster, Punk selected Raven due to his versatility across multiple wrestling eras and promotions.

\”I don\’t know if Raven\’s in the game. I think he\’s a good one because he\’s a guy who, you know, so many different incarnations over so many different decades. Like, you could have fun with that. Like, yeah, he could be Raven, he could be Johnny Polo, he could be Scotty the Body.\”

Showcase Mode Features Eddie Guerrero Dream Match

Punk headlines the WWE 2K26 Showcase mode titled \”Punked – CM Punk\’s Personal Journey,\” which includes both career highlights and \”what if?\” scenarios. Among the featured matches is a dream encounter with Eddie Guerrero that never happened in a WWE ring.

When discussing Guerrero\’s work ethic, Punk shared his admiration for the late legend\’s approach to every match.

\”You show up, you do the job, and you work hard. That\’s all Eddie did. There was never any talk of \’we\’re going to put on this five-star classic.\’ You work with what you have to the best of your ability. Whether it was the Tokyo Dome, a barn in Indianapolis, or WrestleMania—he always gave 100% in the ring.\”

Punk Not Interested in Inferno Matches

While WWE 2K26 introduces several new match types including Inferno matches, Punk made clear one stipulation he has no interest in experiencing.

\”Don\’t want to do those. Don\’t want to be set on fire.\”

WWE 2K26 launches March 13 with special editions available March 6 for early access.

  • Paul Heyman Recalls ECW Video Game \’Smashing Every Record\’ in 1999

Paul Heyman has recalled how the original ECW video game defied expectations in 1999 by smashing sales records and forcing a rushed sequel to meet unprecedented international demand.

In an interview with Fightful\’s Sean Ross Sapp, Heyman reflected on his decades-long involvement in wrestling video games, from the Acclaim-published ECW games to today\’s WWE 2K26.

\”Nobody really believed in the ECW video game back in 1999. And when it came out, it smashed every record that was available at the moment. So much so that they bumrushed the next game, which was called Anarchy Rules, as fast as they could out the door because the pre-orders, especially from overseas, had reached a level that had never been seen before.\”

    The Gaming Industry\’s Unique Evolution

Heyman noted that the gaming industry has undergone a transformation unlike any other entertainment sector, simultaneously consolidating and expanding.

\”We have witnessed the game industry both consolidate and expand at the very same time. It\’s a most unique industry and if you don\’t pay attention to it on a daily basis, you\’re going to miss so much of what\’s going on and where the cultural curve is taking it.\”

    Data-Driven Development in Modern Games

Unlike the scrappier approach of the late 1990s, Heyman explained that modern game development is driven by extensive research and analytics.

\”There\’s someone that\’s running analytics. There\’s someone that\’s running metrics. There\’s someone that is doing surveys. There is someone that is doing site testing. There is someone that gets a test group into a room and says, \’Well, if you play this, if you play that, should this person look like this? Should that person wear that?\’\”

He emphasized that staying ahead of trends is essential for survival in the competitive gaming landscape.

\”There is always and has been since day one a dramatic effort to stay a year ahead of the curve because when a video game falls behind the curve, it can never recover. It becomes yesterday\’s news. It becomes Pac-Man. It becomes Space Invaders.\”

WWE 2K26 launches March 13 with over 400 playable characters.

  • Jey Uso Fires Back at WWE Fans Over Royal Rumble Backlash

Jey Uso has responded to criticism from wrestling fans following The Bloodline’s controversial moments at the 2026 Royal Rumble. The WWE Superstar took to Instagram Stories on Monday to address the wave of negative reactions that flooded social media after the Premium Live Event.

In a pointed message, Jey wrote, “Mane yall don’t deserve my family fr,” accompanied by a bouquet emoji.

    https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2026/02/\"https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2026/02/\"

The post came in response to widespread complaints about several Bloodline-related spots during the 30-man Royal Rumble match.

The criticism centered primarily around Jey’s entrance during the match. With Roman Reigns already in the ring, Jey attempted his signature high-energy entrance only to be immediately cut short by a stiff uppercut from Reigns.

Adding to fan frustration, Brock Lesnar’s elimination occurred in the background during Jey’s entrance sequence, causing many viewers to miss the significant moment entirely.

The 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble featured heavy representation from the Anoa’i family, with Jacob Fatu, Jey Uso, Roman Reigns, and Solo Sikoa all competing in the match. The concentration of Bloodline members and the timing of key spots drew significant backlash on social media platforms immediately following the event.

  • Mister Saint Laurent Out at MLW, Josef Samuel Returns

Mister Saint Laurent is no longer with Major League Wrestling, marking a significant backstage shake-up for the promotion as it gears up for an ambitious 2026.

PWInsider reports that with Saint Laurent\’s departure, MLW has made several personnel changes. Josef Samael, best known as the founder and leader of the infamous CONTRA Unit faction, has returned to the company and will head up Talent Relations going forward.

Former WWE announcer Rich Bocchini, who appeared on SmackDown and NXT under the name Rich Brennan from 2014–2016, is also back with MLW and will work under Samael in the talent relations department. Bocchini previously served as MLW\’s lead play-by-play announcer from 2017–2022.

Additionally, former WWE NXT writer and producer Nick Bonanno has returned to MLW as a Producer, overseeing promos and pre-tapes.

MLW\’s creative direction continues to be led by President Court Bauer with Alex Greenfield heavily involved.

Saint Laurent had been a key figure in MLW since the promotion\’s 2017 relaunch, serving in multiple roles including Chief Operating Officer, commentator, and on-screen manager of the World Titan Federation faction.

The changes come at a pivotal time for MLW. The promotion recently announced the revival of its flagship series MLW Fusion, with TV tapings scheduled for March 14 in Atlanta and April 12 for the Fantastica Mania USA event. MLW will also return to New York City at The Melrose Ballroom on June 11 for a Fusion taping, with tickets going on sale February 13. Battle Riot VIII, taped January 29 in Kissimmee, Florida, airs this Thursday, February 5 at 8 PM ET on YouTube and beIN Sports.

MLW also has upcoming dates in Chicago, Charleston, SC — where the company is now headquartered — and Atlanta.

  • Liv Morgan Reflects on Controversial 2019 Wedding Objection

Liv Morgan is looking back on a memorable moment from her WWE career that she might want to do differently. In a recent Instagram reel shared by GQ Sports, Morgan candidly discussed her infamous wedding objection segment from the final Monday Night RAW of 2019.

The segment, which involved Morgan dramatically interrupting the wedding of Bobby Lashley and Lana, has become a somewhat forgotten storyline in WWE history.

Morgan\’s reflection suggests she views the angle with a critical eye, stating, \”Once upon a time in 2020, I objected to a wedding, and maybe if I could go back in time, I might not object the wedding.\”

    https://www.instagram.com/reel/DUOXMBcAA5N/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading

The original segment was a chaotic moment that saw Morgan tearfully claiming Lana was \”the love of her life,\” which led to a dramatic confrontation and multiple interruptions during the wedding ceremony. At the time, the angle was designed to create significant drama and surprise for WWE audiences.

Today, Morgan is one of the most successful and popular WWE superstars, and her career has exploded since this Jerry Springer-style angle of the previous decade.

  • Becky Lynch Missing WWE Raw for “Emergency Meeting”

Becky Lynch, the current WWE Women\’s Intercontinental Champion, will not be appearing on tonight\’s WWE Raw due to an emergency meeting with legal counsel in Los Angeles.

Lynch, who says she is currently in California, will be absent from the scheduled event, raising questions about the nature and urgency of her legal consultation.

As one of the biggest global stars in WWE history, Lynch\’s absence will undoubtedly have massive ramifications on the show’s quality and viewership.

  • CM Punk Calls World Heavyweight Title His \’Armor\’ Ahead of WrestleMania

WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk says his title is serving as protection heading into WrestleMania season, and he has no plans of letting it go anytime soon.

In an interview with Complex, Punk discussed what it means to be champion at this stage of his career while also celebrating his second WWE 2K video game cover — 13 years after headlining WWE 2K13.

\”I\’m still here. I\’m still doing it at a very high level. Still on top. That belt is my armor right now. And it\’s going to take a lot to pry it from my hands,\” Punk said.

    CM Punk, Complex

CM Punk on Being the Hunted Champion

Punk acknowledged that his position has shifted dramatically from the man who spent years chasing the WrestleMania main event to the champion everyone else is targeting.

\”I\’m in a different position now because I\’m champion. So, I\’m not so much chasing a spot or a moment. People are chasing me. So, it\’s kind of really not up to me. I\’m stoked being the champion and my plan is to hold on to it,\” he explained.

    CM Punk, Complex Sports

The champion also pointed out a practical benefit of holding the title during Royal Rumble season.

\”If I\’m the champion, that means I don\’t have to beat 29 other people in a Royal Rumble and I don\’t have to wrestle in the Elimination Chamber, which hurts a lot,\” Punk joked.

CM Punk is expected to defend his World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42 this April against a challenger yet to be determined.

  • Seth Rollins Accused of Attacking Bron Breakker at the Royal Rumble

Paul Heyman accused Seth Rollins of being the masked attacker who ambushed Bron Breakker at the 2026 Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday night. The attack led to Breakker\’s immediate elimination from the men\’s Royal Rumble match and derailed The Vision\’s plan to send their leader to WrestleMania 42.

    https://x.com/wwe/status/2018353954338521112?s=46

    How the Attack Unfolded

Breakker entered at #2 with Heyman at his side, heading toward the ring where Oba Femi waited as the #1 entrant. A hooded figure in all black struck from behind, slamming Breakker into the steel steps before delivering a superkick and a Curb Stomp — Seth Rollins\’ signature finishing move.

The attacker threw Breakker into the ring, where Femi immediately eliminated him. Heyman screamed at officials that the assault was Rollins\’ doing. \”How can that be legal? That was Seth Rollins,\” Heyman declared.

    Triple H Teases Rollins\’ Involvement

During the post-show, Triple H chose his words carefully when asked about the mystery. \”I don\’t want to make any accusations, but this is a pretty clean Curb Stomp,\” he said. When it was noted the attacker appeared to have performed the move before, Triple H replied, \”Yeah, at least one.\”

Rollins Denied Being in Saudi Arabia

Rollins has been sidelined since October with a torn rotator cuff suffered at Crown Jewel. He repeatedly stated he would not be in Riyadh, telling ESPN\’s First Take he couldn\’t make it and telling the Sal Licata Show he\’d be home on \”solo daddy duty.\”

However, Rollins has a history of deception. Last summer he faked a knee injury before returning at SummerSlam to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. He recently admitted on ESPN that he \”lost all credibility\” when it comes to injuries.

    The Austin Theory Angle

The attacker wore gear similar to the masked figure revealed as Austin Theory in December, when Theory debuted as The Vision\’s mystery man at Survivor Series using the same Curb Stomp-style attack. This has fueled speculation that Theory could be working as a double agent within the faction.

Signs of dissent were visible heading into the Rumble. On the January 26 Raw, Theory showed less enthusiasm about The Vision\’s plan for Breakker to win. During the Countdown show, both Theory and Logan Paul stayed silent when asked if they\’d sacrifice themselves for Breakker — only Bronson Reed said yes.

    WrestleMania Implications

Rollins has been optimistic about returning in time for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas this April. A match against Breakker would be a natural payoff to a storyline that traces back to The Vision\’s violent turn on Rollins in October.

Roman Reigns won the men\’s Royal Rumble for the second time, while Liv Morgan won the women\’s match. The Road to WrestleMania is officially underway — and the identity of Breakker\’s attacker is one of the hottest mysteries WWE needs to resolve.

  • AEW & Adult Swim Collaborate On Animated Series

AEW and Adult Swim are teaming up once again, this time for a full animated project featuring characters based on AEW\’s wrestling roster.

Writer and producer Nic Collins announced the collaboration via his LinkedIn page, stating, \”Excited to share that I\’m writing and producing a new animated project with Adult Swim x All Elite Wrestling.\”

    https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2026/02/\"https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2026/02/\"

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Collins will co-write the project with fellow Adult Swim creative Micah Stahl. All characters in the series will be based on AEW wrestlers, though specific names have not yet been revealed.

Collins is well-versed in both the animation and wrestling worlds. He co-created the Adult Swim animated series Thoron the Conqueror as part of the network\’s \”Smalls\” shorts program, and his series Beached was an official SXSW selection.

On the wrestling side, Collins co-developed and served as Creative Producer on Six Feet Under with The Undertaker, which reached #1 in Sports on the global podcast charts before its acquisition by WWE. He also went on to write and produce WWE SmackDown.

Stahl is an LA-based animator and filmmaker who has also contributed to Adult Swim\’s \”Smalls\” program with shorts including SOLO and A Night at the Orca-Stra.

    A Growing Partnership

This marks the third collaboration between AEW and Adult Swim. The two brands first crossed over in October 2019 with a Rick & Morty-themed Halloween episode of AEW Dynamite, which featured branded turnbuckles, character masks for fans, and the Best Friends and Orange Cassidy entering in full Rick & Morty costumes.

In 2024, AEW and Adult Swim held the \”Battle for the Booty\” tag team tournament at San Diego Comic-Con, pitting AEW wrestlers against iconic Adult Swim characters.

The animated project is the latest example of AEW\’s continued extension into into entertainment, following its ongoing comic book crossover with DC Comics.

  • Hair vs. Hair Match Announced for AEW Grand Slam

A high-stakes mixed tornado tag team match has been added to the AEW Grand Slam: Australia card, as Toni Storm and Orange Cassidy will face Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir in a hair vs. hair match on February 14 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.

"Timeless" Toni Storm just made a challenge for #AEWGrandSlam Australia! A MIXED TAG HAIR VS HAIR MATCH!

Watch #AEWCollision LIVE on TNT & HBO Max pic.twitter.com/EnY3CumtH5

    — All Elite Wrestling (@AEW) February 1, 2026

The challenge was issued by Storm on the January 31 episode of AEW Collision. After Storm and Cassidy made quick work of Gino Medina and Ladybird Monroe in a mixed tag match, Yuta and Shafir attacked from behind. Yuta grabbed a microphone, mocked Cassidy\’s hair, and retrieved a pair of scissors in an attempt to forcibly cut it. Storm made the save, stole the scissors, and laid down the challenge for Grand Slam Australia — whoever takes the fall gets their head shaved.

Toni Storm and Marina Shafir\’s Feud

The feud between Storm and Shafir traces back to Blood & Guts in 2025, where Shafir choked out Mina Shirakawa and cost Storm\’s team the match. The rivalry intensified through the Women\’s Tag Team Championship Tournament and reached a new level at AEW Worlds End, where the \”Mixed Nuts Mayhem\” match first paired Storm and Cassidy together against members of the Death Riders.

On the January 7 episode of Dynamite, Storm defeated Shafir by disqualification after Yuta pulled the referee from the ring, followed by Shafir knocking out both Storm and Shirakawa. Cassidy and Yuta also have a deep personal history, as former Best Friends stablemates before Yuta\’s heel turn and alignment with Jon Moxley\’s faction.

The match carries added significance with Storm returning to her home country of Australia, and the Valentine\’s Day date adding another layer to the budding Storm and Cassidy romantic storyline. The tornado tag rules mean all four competitors will be legal simultaneously.

  • Chelsea Green Volunteers to be NXT General Manager

Green\’s tweet comes after Ava vacated the NXT General Manager role on January 30, 2026. Known for her outspoken \”Karen\” persona, Green has a history of challenging authority figures like Adam Pearce.

Currently performing on SmackDown and part of The Green Regime stable with Piper Niven and Alba Fyre, Green holds both the Women\’s United States Championship and AAA World Mixed Tag Team titles.

As of now, WWE has not officially responded to Green\’s GM candidacy. NXT continues to air on The CW Network in the United States and on Netflix internationally.

  • Kazuchika Okada\’s Gear, Belt Lost Before AEW Collision

Kazuchika Okada\’s gear and International Championship belt were lost in transit before his scheduled appearance on AEW Collision in Arlington, Texas on January 31, 2026. The incident forced Okada to improvise and led to the championship title being covered during the broadcast.

According to Fightful, the unfortunate situation occurred just before Okada was set to appear on AEW Collision. The loss of his gear and, more importantly, the International Championship belt, presented a significant challenge for the wrestler and the promotion.

    https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2026/02/\"https://media.sescoops.com/uploads/2026/02/\"

Despite the setback, Okada managed to perform on AEW Collision. However, due to the missing International Championship belt, the title was covered during his segment.

  • Gunther Claims He\’s Doing a \’Good Service\’ Retiring Legends

Gunther isn\’t just embracing his \”Career Killer\” moniker — he\’s proud of it. Speaking on WWE\’s Royal Rumble Recap podcast after retiring AJ Styles at the 2026 Royal Rumble, the Ring General declared that ending the careers of wrestling legends is a public service.

Gunther: Retiring Legends is a \’Good Service\’ to Wrestling

When asked about his growing list of career-ending victories — which now includes Bill Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles — Gunther showed zero remorse and instead framed himself as wrestling\’s necessary villain.

\”I\’m doing a good service to the sport, to the business of professional wrestling, because there\’s all those guys, they always think they\’re welcome, they chase another moment, and nobody takes the time and invests their energy in stepping up to them and make them understand, \’hey, get out of here.\’

It\’s like, you\’ve done your thing. It\’s time to move on and take moments away from people far greater like myself.\”

Gunther sends another WWE legend into retirement

Gunther went on to dismiss any notion that his legacy is defined by the legends he\’s vanquished, emphasizing that his success stands on its own merits.

\”My career is not built on Goldberg, John Cena, AJ Styles. My career is built on the results I deliver, the performances I deliver. That\’s what it\’s built on.\”

Gunther Calls Roman Reigns \’An Obstacle\’

After choking out Styles earlier in the night, Gunther pulled double duty by entering the Men\’s Royal Rumble match at No. 30. He eliminated Penta and Randy Orton before finding himself in the final two with Roman Reigns — who ultimately tossed Gunther over the top rope to win.

It marked the second time Gunther has been Royal Rumble runner-up, having also finished second to Cody Rhodes in 2023.

When the topic of Reigns came up, Gunther made it clear the Tribal Chief is now on his radar.

\”Making it to the last two with Roman Reigns, for the first time with Roman in the ring, my way leads to the World Heavyweight Championship or the WWE Championship in the future. I assume it won\’t be the last time. We\’ll see. [He\’s] definitely an obstacle.\”

Gunther calls Roman Reigns \”an obstacle\”

Gunther also acknowledged that his match with Styles took a physical toll heading into the Rumble. \”AJ took it out of me,\” he admitted, noting he was already banged up by the time he entered the 30-man match.

    The Career Killer\’s Growing Legacy

Gunther\’s \”Career Killer\” persona has become one of WWE\’s most compelling character arcs. After retiring Goldberg at Saturday Night\’s Main Event in July 2025, the Ring General went on to win the Last Time Is Now tournament and defeat John Cena in Cena\’s final match that December. WWE formalized the gimmick by trademarking \”The Career Killer\” just days before the Royal Rumble.

With three legendary retirements now under his belt, the question on everyone\’s mind is who\’s next. Gunther\’s comments about Reigns suggest the two-time World Heavyweight Champion has his sights set on championship gold — and if a legend happens to be holding that title, all the better for his growing list of victims.

The road to WrestleMania 42 is shaping up to be a dangerous one for any veteran who crosses Gunther\’s path.
