  • WWE Production Veteran Jim Shank Passes Away at 60

WWE production veteran Jim Shank has died at age 60. Shank worked for WWE for more than 25 years after joining the company in November 1999 during the Attitude Era.

Reports indicate Shank passed away this past Friday after fighting colorectal cancer for several years, just weeks after celebrating his 60th birthday.

He had been undergoing treatments supported in part by a GoFundMe campaign launched in 2025, which raised over $200,000 to help cover therapies not fully paid by insurance.

Stone Cold Steve Austin will appear at WWE World during WrestleMania 42 weekend in Las Vegas, WWE and Fanatics announced.

The WWE Hall of Famer is scheduled for autograph signings and photo opportunities on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, the same days as WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium.

WWE World serves as the official interactive fan experience tied to WrestleMania. The convention runs from April 16-20 at the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall.

  • CM Punk vs. Finn Bálor Title Match Set for Elimination Chamber

CM Punk (c) will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Bálor at WWE Elimination Chamber on February 28 in Chicago. The match was made official during tonight\’s episode of Raw after Bálor interrupted a planned in-ring interview with the champion and demanded a rematch.

How the Match Was Made on Raw

Bálor confronted Punk during his interview segment and made his case for another shot at the World Heavyweight Title. Raw General Manager Adam Pearce initially resisted the idea, expressing concern about jeopardizing the already-announced Elimination Chamber event and the bigger picture heading into WrestleMania 42.

Pearce\’s concern centered on the risk of Punk entering WrestleMania without the title if something went wrong in Chicago. However, Punk insisted on accepting the challenge, and the title match was officially sanctioned for the Premium Live Event at the United Center.

    The Punk-Bálor Rivalry So Far

The feud between the two dates back to January, when Punk retained the World Heavyweight Championship against Bálor on the January 19 episode of Raw in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Despite a show of mutual respect after the Belfast match, Bálor turned aggressive the following week. He attacked Punk during a World Heavyweight Championship match against AJ Styles on the January 26 Raw, causing the bout to end in disqualification.

Bálor then attempted to enter the Royal Rumble match but was told by Pearce that all 30 spots were filled, further fueling his frustration.

What This Means for the Road to WrestleMania

Elimination Chamber 2026 serves as the final Premium Live Event before WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. Punk is already slated to face Roman Reigns in the WrestleMania main event after Reigns won the 2026 Royal Rumble.

With the Reigns match looming, Punk\’s decision to put the title on the line in his hometown adds a layer of drama to the build. A loss would throw the entire WrestleMania main event picture into chaos, though Bálor\’s chances of dethroning Punk at this stage appear slim.

For Bálor, the match represents his biggest opportunity since his days as the inaugural Universal Champion nearly a decade ago and could signal a significant singles push heading into the spring.

The Sandman\’s choice of opponent for his retirement match is unconventional, but there wasn\’t much conventional about his Hall of Fame career. Expect a fun sendoff for this one of a kind performer.

  • Becky Lynch vs AJ Lee Title Match Set for Elimination Chamber

Becky Lynch will defend the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against AJ Lee at Elimination Chamber on February 28, 2026 in Chicago.

AJ Lee will challenge Becky Lynch for the Women\’s Intercontinental Championship at WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 in Chicago.

Elimination Chamber 2026 takes place Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The bout will mark AJ Lee\’s first singles match since March 2015, when she last wrestled Nikki Bella on Raw. The storyline heading into Chicago centers on AJ costing Becky matches and titles in recent months, building to their eventual showdown.

The Women\’s Intercontinental Championship match joins a growing Elimination Chamber card that already includes the men\’s and women\’s chamber matches, with qualifying matches for both currently ongoing.

  • CM Punk’s WWE 2K26 Showcase Trailer: Fantasy Warfare, New Info

The official WWE 2K26 Showcase trailer starring CM Punk premiered Monday night, spotlighting the game\’s ambitious mode centered on the \”Best in the World\” and his storied career.

The reveal was framed as a social media-style \”takeover\” by CM Punk, with the post captioned: \”It\’s only fitting for the Best in the World to share the #WWE2K26 Showcase Trailer. – CM Punk.\”

The nearly two-minute trailer showcases CM Punk across multiple career eras, highlighting the evolution from his early straight-edge persona through his prime \”Best in the World\” years with full tattoo sleeves, and into his modern look.

Gameplay footage emphasizes the Showcase mode\’s variety, featuring signature CM Punk moments including GTS finishers, aerial offense, ringside brawls, and dramatic sequences such as cage climbs and bloody rivalries.

The trailer also highlights a special, neutral Punk-themed arena designed for dream match and fantasy warfare scenarios.

2K Showcase: Punked – CM Punk\’s Personal Journey

The Showcase mode carries the official title \”2K Showcase: Punked – CM Punk\’s Personal Journey,\” with narration provided by Punk himself. The mode allows players to experience his professional wrestling journey, charting his rise, rebellious peak, and long-awaited return, including key moments such as the legendary 2011 \”Pipe Bomb\” promo and his comeback years.

The mode introduces several headline features for the WWE 2K26 franchise:

Fantasy Warfare enables players to pit CM Punk against WWE Legends and stars in dream \”What If?\” scenarios that go beyond his real-life match history.

Showcase Gauntlet offers endurance-style challenge runs for players seeking extended, high-difficulty Showcase experiences.

Structurally, the Showcase blends recreations of Punk\’s real matches with alternate-timeline and fantasy bouts, effectively giving players multiple ways to revisit or rewrite his legacy.

Relive History focuses on CM Punk\’s actual matches and rivalries from his career, allowing players to play through authentic moments drawn from his WWE run.

Change History explores alternate versions of Punk\’s story through \”What If?\” scenarios, reimagining how key chapters could have unfolded.

Create History leans into completely fictional dream matches against legends and contemporary stars, using Punk as the centerpiece of fantasy booking-style encounters.

Progression through the Showcase mode rewards players with unlockable content including alternate attires, special arenas, and additional playable characters, consistent with prior WWE 2K Showcase structures.

Matches and Moments Teased in the Trailer

Wrestling fans and gaming outlets quickly began analyzing the trailer frame by frame to identify the matches and story beats featured, with around a dozen Punk matches and segments seemingly represented in the footage.

Relive History-style matches that appear to be included, based on the trailer footage, include Rey Mysterio at Armageddon 2008, The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29, Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2013, multiple John Cena encounters, a RAW match against JBL, and a recent Hell in a Cell bout with Drew McIntyre. (These are teased in the trailer but not yet fully, officially match-listed.)

Change History scenarios teased in the trailer include a mixed tag team bout pairing Punk and AJ Lee against The Miz and Maryse, presented as a clear “What If?” alternate-timeline matchup rather than a recreation of a real event.

Create History dream matches showcased in the trailer include fantasy encounters with Stone Cold Steve Austin in a themed arena and Eddie Guerrero, along with brief teases suggesting additional clashes with names like The Rock and potential tag combinations. These are presented as fantasy warfare scenarios rather than confirmed historical recreations.

The full, official Showcase match list has not yet been published, but 2K has indicated that full details will be revealed ahead of launch, with all Showcase content unlocked progressively through mode completion.

  • AEW Double or Nothing Heading to Louis Armstrong Stadium

All Elite Wrestling is bringing one of its signature pay-per-view events to a new venue in New York City this spring, according to a report from Andrew Zarian.

AEW Double or Nothing is scheduled to take place at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. The venue, which typically hosts tennis matches as part of the U.S. Open, holds approximately 14,000 seats for tennis.

    AEW\’s New York Expansion

This marks the first wrestling event to be held at Louis Armstrong Stadium, though the venue has hosted other sporting events. A boxing match was held at the stadium in July 2025.

AEW has become a regular presence in New York in recent years, particularly with its Grand Slam events at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows. The company has successfully filled the larger Arthur Ashe Stadium, which holds over 23,000 fans, for previous New York shows.

Louis Armstrong Stadium is located in the same Flushing Meadows–Corona Park complex as Arthur Ashe Stadium, both serving as venues for the U.S. Open tennis tournament.

    Date Still To Be Announced

While the location has been reported, AEW has not officially announced a date for Double or Nothing 2026. The event traditionally takes place in late May, dating back to the company\’s first pay-per-view in 2019.

Double or Nothing is one of AEW\’s \”big four\” annual pay-per-view events, alongside Revolution, All Out, and Full Gear. The event has historically been held in Las Vegas, though the company has occasionally moved it to other markets.

With the venue secured in New York, fans can expect an official announcement from AEW regarding the date and ticket information in the coming weeks.

  • Seth Rollins Gifted Kofi Kingston Super Bowl Ticket, Apologizes After Patriots Loss

Seth Rollins gave Kofi Kingston a last-minute ticket to Sunday\’s Super Bowl, where Kingston watched his New England Patriots suffer a crushing defeat. Rollins apologized to Kingston on Monday morning for extending the invitation.

Kingston shared screenshots showing Rollins reaching out via direct message asking \”Wanna go to the Super Bowl?\” and offering an extra ticket.

Kingston accepted immediately, with Rollins sending a formal ticket transfer notification for one NFL Event ticket with an acceptance deadline of February 8.

Following the Patriots\’ loss, Kingston thanked Rollins and Lynch despite the outcome. \”Wish the result was different, but I have to thank Seth & Becky for making this possible,\” Kingston wrote. \”Watching your team play in the Super Bowl is such a rare experience & I\’m beyond grateful for their thoughtfulness. BIG Salute to the Cap\’n & The Man! I am forever indebted…\”

Rollins responded Monday morning with an apology for inviting Kingston to witness his team\’s defeat.

Kingston announced Monday he would miss tonight\’s WWE Raw, citing illness. \”Actually, I\’m calling out sick from work today,\” Kingston wrote. \”Don\’t expect to see me. Also if you care about me, please don\’t message me, as it will slow my recovery. Thank you.\”

No timeline has been announced for Kingston\’s return to action.

  • Bron Breakker\’s Hernia Surgery Caused By Table Flip

The hernia surgery that forced Bron Breakker to the sidelines was self-inflicted during a moment of rage on WWE Raw, according to PWInsider.

Breakker injured himself on the February 2 episode when he flipped over the announcer\’s table at ringside in frustration. The table spot went wrong, causing the hernia that required surgical repair within days.

The injury is particularly notable because it wasn\’t caused by an opponent or planned spot – Breakker hurt himself during an improvised display of anger. WWE has not announced when the former IC champion will return to action.

The incident is the latest example of pro wrestlers suffering serious injuries while getting physical at ringside outside the confines of a sanctioned match.

  • Bryan Danielson Would Wrestle Again After Life-Changing Treatments

Bryan Danielson revealed he\’s not ruling out a return to professional wrestling following a transformative physical therapy experience in April 2025, crediting Adam Copeland with connecting him to the same specialist who helped facilitate Edge\’s legendary comeback.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso, the retired legend detailed how two intensive therapy sessions dramatically improved his quality of life and changed his perspective on his wrestling future.

\”I don\’t close it off. Maybe. In April of 2025, Adam Copeland sent me to his physical therapist. He said the guy was a miracle worker. This guy worked on me for 2 days in a row, 6 hours each day. After the first night, I slept 9 hours straight. After the second night, I slept 8 hours straight. After that, I was sleeping 7 or 8 hours almost every night. That\’s a game changer for how you feel.\”

    Bryan Danielson on wrestling again

The revelation carries significant weight given Danielson\’s well-documented history of neck injuries and health concerns that have defined the latter portion of his career. The American Dragon stepped away from full-time in-ring competition in 2024 after a storied run that included world championship reigns in both WWE and AEW.

Copeland defied medical expectations with his own return to wrestling after a career-threatening neck injury, eventually signing with AEW and continuing to perform at a high level. That Copeland would personally recommend his physical therapist to Danielson suggests the WWE legend saw similar potential for recovery.

    Bryan Danielson\’s Future in Wrestling

While Danielson stopped short of making any promises about lacing up his boots again, the deliberate choice not to close the door represents a shift from his previous retirement stance.

The specific medical details he shared, particularly the dramatic improvement in sleep quality, are encouraging. If he\’s feeling so much better physically, he\’s more likely to entertain another \’final run.\’

The Usos have held the championships through the Royal Rumble season and are building momentum toward Elimination Chamber.

    Nattie vs. Maxxine Dupri

Nattie faces Maxxine Dupri in a grudge match stemming from recent backstage tension. This matchup could set up further programs for both women as WrestleMania season intensifies.

    Road to Elimination Chamber

  • Chelsea Green Injury Update After SmackDown Ankle Scare

Chelsea Green\’s ankle injury is a bruise and not a break, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Daily Update, and she is not expected to miss significant time.

Green suffered the injury during Friday\’s Women\’s Elimination Chamber qualifying match on SmackDown, where she competed against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend. The injury forced her out of her scheduled AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship defense the following night.

Title Change on AAA on FOX

During Saturday\’s episode of AAA on FOX, Green appeared via FaceTime in a walking boot during a backstage segment with Ethan Page, confirming she was unable to compete. La Hiedra stepped in as Page\’s replacement partner, but the duo fell to Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana, who captured the AAA Mixed Tag Team Titles.

    Green Reacts on Social Media

Green took to X after the title change, writing, \”The AUDACITY of @luchalibreaaa to throw @OfficialEGO into a match like that after I almost ended my career on SmackDown last night from a near fatal fall. Ethan, we need to talk!!!\” She also shared photos of her badly bruised ankle.

While Green has played up the severity on social media — calling the injury \”career-threatening\” on Instagram — Meltzer\’s report suggests she should be back in action soon, which is welcome news heading into Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania season.

  • Bron Breakker Undergoes Hernia Surgery

Bron Breakker is currently sidelined following surgery to repair a serious hernia, with no timeline announced for his return to WWE.

Dave Meltzer first reported that Breakker underwent the procedure but did not provide a recovery timeline or expected return date.

“Bron Breakker had surgery for a serious hernia. No word on how long he’ll be out.”

The following night on Raw, Breakker appeared in a rage, destroyed ringside equipment, and was forcibly removed from the building by Adam Pearce—a segment that now appears to have served as his television write-off.

WWE has not announced a timetable for Breakker’s return, and reports indicate his status for WrestleMania 42 remains uncertain.

  • Aliyah Selling All Wrestling Gear, Signaling Possible Retirement

Nhooph Al-Areebi, best known to wrestling fans as Aliyah, is selling all her ring gear and wrestling-related items. The former WWE superstar listed everything from gear and boots to action figures on Passes.com:

\”Getting rid of everything wrestling-related — action figures, gear, boots, you name it. DM me if you’re looking for anything specific.\”

It appears the 31-year-old Ontario native may be stepping away from the ring for good.

    Aliyah\’s WWE Journey and Release

Aliyah joined WWE in 2015 after competing on Tough Enough and debuted on the main roster in 2021 as part of the Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler tag team stable. She later moved to women\’s division storylines but was released by the promotion in 2023, while out injured, amid widespread cuts.

Since her WWE exit, Aliyah has kept a low profile in wrestling. Her last known match came in February 2025 for Destiny Wrestling in Ontario, Canada. With no major appearances since, the gear sale feels like a definitive signal that her wrestling chapter could be closing.

What This Means for Aliyah\’s Future

For fans who followed Aliyah\’s underdog rise—from NXT contender to main roster competitor—this move marks a potential end to an inspiring career. The sale on Passes.com, her official platform, suggests she\’s clearing out memorabilia rather than holding onto it for a comeback. WWE Hall of Famer Fred Ottman, known to wrestling fans as Tugboat, Typhoon, and The Shockmaster, has posted an emotional video from the hospital revealing he has been fighting for his life over the past month.

Ottman, 69, shared the update to let fans know he hasn\’t disappeared. He explained that he, his wife Sheila, and his immediate family and close friends had kept the situation private out of respect for their privacy.

Ottman\’s Gallbladder Ruptured, Releasing Poison Into His Body

According to the video, Ottman\’s gallbladder exploded inside of him, releasing toxins throughout his body. The former WWE Tag Team Champion revealed he has been bedridden for 30 days as doctors and surgeons worked to save his life.

Ottman said he also developed a major infection on top of the ruptured gallbladder. The situation was so dire that doctors told his wife that if he had waited just one more day to seek treatment, he likely would not have survived.

    Learning To Walk Again

The wrestling legend described the ordeal as a brutal fight. He has lost a significant amount of muscle mass during his hospital stay and has been learning how to walk again. Despite the progress, Ottman acknowledged he is not out of the woods yet.

Ottman said he expects to be discharged on Monday afternoon to continue his recovery at home. However, he will need another surgical procedure later this month and will require dialysis due to the damage the ordeal caused to his kidneys.

    Ottman Grateful For Support

Throughout the video, Ottman expressed deep gratitude toward his medical team, his wife Sheila, his friends, and his wrestling friends for their support during this difficult time. He also thanked God for watching over him and his loved ones, noting that he came very close to not making it.

This is unfortunately not the first health scare for Ottman in recent months. In September 2025, his close friend and fellow former WWE Women\’s Champion Leilani Kai revealed that Ottman had undergone vascular surgery, asking the wrestling community to keep him and Sheila in their thoughts and prayers.

    A Beloved Figure In Wrestling

Ottman is best known for his run in the early 1990s as Tugboat, a fan-favorite ally of Hulk Hogan in the WWF. He later turned heel and became Typhoon, forming The Natural Disasters with Earthquake (the late John Tenta). The duo captured the WWF Tag Team Championship in 1992 and were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025.

Ottman is also remembered for his infamous debut in WCW as The Shockmaster, a moment that has become one of the most talked-about bloopers in wrestling history. Despite that incident, Ottman has remained a beloved figure in the wrestling community for decades. We wish Fred and his family all the best as he continues his recovery.

  • WWE Stars Split on Super Bowl LX: Seahawks vs Patriots Picks

WWE superstars are picking sides for Super Bowl LX between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.

In a video posted on Sunday just hours before the big game, WWE asked close to a dozen of its premiere athletes who will be awarded the Vince Lombardi Trophy when it\’s all said and done.

Brie Bella, Je’Von Evans, Otis, Xavier Woods, Nikki Bella, Brutus Creed, and Royce Keys are riding with the Seahawks, the favorites.

On the other side, Kofi Kingston, Julius Creed, and Grayson Waller are backing the Patriots.

Rusev opted out entirely, making it clear he’s not interested in American football.

  • Jeff Jarrett: AJ Styles Will Wrestle Again

AJ Styles\’ career may not be over despite his loss to Gunther at Royal Rumble with his in-ring future on the line. On his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett expressed confidence that the veteran superstar will wrestle again, potentially within the next couple of years.

\”We have not seen the last of AJ Styles in the ring,\” Jarrett said. \”Look, it may be a year, it may be two years, I don\’t know.\”

Jarrett\’s assessment suggests that despite the storyline implications of Styles\’ Royal Rumble defeat, the superstar\’s in-ring career isn\’t necessarily finished.

Scott D\’Amore echoed similar sentiments, indicating he found it puzzling if Styles\’ career would end with his loss to Gunther.

    Gunther\’s Momentum From Styles Victory

Jarrett also analyzed the significance of Gunther\’s win, noting that the Ring General gained more from defeating Styles than other wrestlers have gained from similar career-threatening matches.

This suggests Gunther\’s character development and credibility received a substantial boost from the high-profile victory at Royal Rumble.

While Styles\’ immediate future remains uncertain, industry veterans are largely unconvinced that his Royal Rumble loss represents a permanent end to his wrestling career.

The timing of any potential return remains unclear, but Jarrett\’s comments suggest fans shouldn\’t count out the Phenomenal One just yet.

  • Cam Skattebo Eyes WWE Future After Raw Appearance

Cam Skattebo is keeping the door wide open for a potential WWE career after his NFL days are done.

The running back appeared on Monday Night Raw at Madison Square Garden in November, where he had a brief confrontation with The Judgment Day alongside comedian Andrew Schultz.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, Skattebo discussed the possibility of transitioning to professional wrestling once his football career concludes.

\”There\’s a chance. I mean, I feel like I\’m a pretty good actor. There\’s a chance there,\” Skattebo said. \”There\’s a bunch of chances I feel like I can do something outside of football when I\’m done playing. I\’m not too sure where I\’m going to go with that, but WWE is definitely an option.\”

    Raw Appearance Draws Attention

Skattebo\’s Raw appearance at Madison Square Garden generated buzz, particularly because he was on the injured list at the time (dislocated ankle). The NFL star strongly defended the appearance, showing that he\’s serious about his love for wrestling.

The confrontation with The Judgment Day gave Skattebo a taste of what could be, should he decide to lace up a pair of boots.

Whether Skattebo ultimately pursues a wrestling career remains to be seen, but with so many athletes, influencers and celebrities flirting with a crossover to WWE, Skattebo would be one of the more intriguing cases.
