  • Timothy Thatcher Named WWE Evolve Authority Figure

Timothy Thatcher Named WWE Evolve Authority Figure

Timothy Thatcher is set to become the new on-screen General Manager of WWE EVOLVE. The announcement was made by NXT GM Robert Stone on this week’s WWE Evolve show on Tubi.

Thatcher is stepping into the role following Stevie Turner’s release in October 2025. He returned to WWE in 2024 and has been working for the EVOLVE brand and as a trainer for WWE ID program.

Robert Stone referenced Thatcher’s unique personality and old-school values, saying, “Even though he refused the pound of Stone saying a handshake is the more old school way…it was a pleasure officially naming Timothy Thatcher the new Foreman of Evolve.”

According to Stone, Thatcher is a “different breed” who doesn’t wear knee pads because he believes it means you’ve got weak knees. Stone also noted that Thatcher doesn’t do social media and doesn’t even own a phone or a TV.

Stone believes this makes Thatcher the perfect man for the job and thanked Shawn Michaels (HBK) for trusting him with the decision.

Stone added that Evolve has already produced legitimate NXT superstars and helped shape the future of the industry, so it needed real authority, and Thatcher is beyond the right man for it.

Stone knew Thatcher was special ever since the first time he met him at Southside Wrestling in England back in 2015. The next chapter of Evolve starts… now.

  • Ric Flair: WWE Wrestlers Are Self-Employed in a $9 Billion Business

Ric Flair: WWE Wrestlers Are Self-Employed in a $9 Billion Business

Ric Flair spent over five decades at the top of professional wrestling, but in a new interview on the Legally Goff Podcast, the 16-time world champion pulled back the curtain on the business side of the industry — and the picture isn’t pretty.

Despite WWE recently selling for $9 billion, Flair made clear that the people who built that value were never protected by the kind of labor structures taken for granted in every other major American sport.

“We’re self-employed,” Flair said. “They take care of you if you get hurt in the ring, but if you have an issue outside of the ring, you’ve got to buy your own health insurance.

There’s no union, which is unheard of for a billion-dollar company. I mean, they just sold the WWE for $9 billion.”

WWE’s standalone value was estimated at $9.3 billion at the time of the TKO Group merger with the UFC in 2023.

As of early 2026, TKO President Mark Shapiro stated that WWE alone is now worth $20 billion

Flair lived that reality firsthand. From 1983 to 1985, he had just 17 days off over a three-year stretch, wrestling over 300 nights a year with no guaranteed contract and no safety net. His own accountant couldn’t make sense of it.

“My accountant said, ‘How can you have down that you wrestled 418 times? It’s only 365 days in a year,’” Flair recalled. “And I went, ‘Your honor, I went twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday.’”

The Belt Was a Bargaining Chip

Without union protections, leverage was personal — and Flair wasn’t shy about using what he had. When WCW executive Jim Herd refused to pay out a $43,000 deposit owed to him, Flair took the most dramatic exit possible.

“I told Jim Herd, ‘You can have the belt — give me a check for 43 grand,’” Flair said. “He said, ‘F*** you.’ And I said, ‘F*** me? F*** you. Watch this.’ So I called Vince. I said, ‘Are you really coming?’ I said, ‘I’ll send you the belt right now.’ I walked on TV with their belt — the real world champion.”

It was a power move only possible because Flair was the rare performer whose drawing power gave him individual leverage. For everyone else, he acknowledged, the structure offered little recourse.

    “Choreographed But Real”

Flair also pushed back on the perception that wrestling’s predetermined outcomes somehow reduce the physical danger — a misconception that, he argued, obscures why labor protections matter in the first place.

“It’s choreographed but it’s real,” he said. “And if they don’t think so — seven broken necks in the last five years. Seven broken necks, to the point where only one guy is paralyzed. Other guys can’t wrestle anymore because of broken necks.”

Flair himself had five and six in his neck cracked during a DDT, describing it as the worst pain he’d ever felt. The physical toll of a career in wrestling is real — it’s the financial and institutional protections that have historically been absent.

A Business Without a Safety Net

Flair noted that guaranteed contracts didn’t arrive until the 1990s, and that the independent contractor classification that defined the business for decades persists to this day for most talent.

In every other major North American professional sport, a revenue-generating athlete of Flair’s stature would have been covered by a collective bargaining agreement, a pension, and health benefits.

In wrestling, they had none of that. What they had was the gate.

“Every time they wanted me to drop it to somebody else, they didn’t draw, and then they said, ‘Give it back to Flair, he sells it out.’ I had no problem dropping it and I had no problem getting it back.

Some guys really struggle with that, because once they’ve had it. Even for a couple of months, I’ve seen it destroy some guys’ careers.”

Flair’s full interview is available now on the Legally Goff Podcast.

  • Thea Hail Addresses Online Hate in Emotional Statement

WWE NXT star Thea Hail has spoken out about the online harassment she faces on a daily basis, delivering an emotional and personal statement urging fans to reconsider how they treat wrestlers on social media.

Hail, 22, addressed the topic at length after saying she had been holding back for some time.

\”I\’ve been wanting to touch on this subject for a long time now and I just haven\’t felt like I should, and now my opinion\’s changed,\” she said.

The NXT competitor reflected on the sacrifices she has made to pursue a career in professional wrestling, having left home in the middle of high school to chase her dream.

She said seeing negative comments about her as a person — not just her work — takes a daily toll.

\”Every day, to look at my Twitter timeline or look at social media and see negative comments about me as a human being, is disgusting,\” Hail said. \”I\’ve worked my ass off for five years. For the biggest moment of my career. And you all take it as a joke.\”

Hail described putting professional wrestling above everything regardless of how she feels on a given day, and said the weight of constantly absorbing criticism from the public has become exhausting.

\”For five years, I have valued this industry to such an extent and I\’ve valued others\’ opinions, and it is exhausting,\” she said. \”I love this more than anything, but what I don\’t love is to constantly be torn down by other people, by other human beings.\”

She pushed back at the notion that negativity toward her could ever be justified, and challenged those who engage in online hate to reflect on their own motivations.

\”You feel the need to tear somebody else down to build yourself up. Are you serious?\” Hail said. \”I don\’t understand the level of hate in professional wrestling today.\”

Hail closed her statement with a direct appeal, asking fans to take a moment before posting anything negative online.

\”Please, take an extra 10 seconds before you put something up on social media,\” she said. \”And remember that the person on the other end of it is also a human being.\”

  • WWE Raw Tonight (3/9/26): Start Time, Card & How to Watch

WWE Raw airs tonight (Monday, March 9, 2026) from Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, live on Netflix starting at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT.

Tonight\’s Raw is a WrestleMania 42 build show featuring an Intercontinental Championship defense, a six-woman gauntlet to crown the Women\’s IC No. 1 contender, and CM Punk scheduled to appear as the road to Las Vegas continues to take shape.

WWE Raw Match Card for March 9, 2026

Here are the matches and segments announced for tonight\’s show:

Intercontinental Championship Match: Penta (c) vs. \”Original\” El Grande Americano

Penta El Zero Miedo puts the Intercontinental Championship on the line tonight just days after confirming he has been competing through a torn bicep. The title changed hands just weeks ago when Penta dethroned Dominik Mysterio on Raw, and tonight he faces his next test as WrestleMania 42 season heats up.

    Oba Femi vs. Rusev

Two of Raw\’s most physically imposing stars collide tonight after a brawl last week set this matchup in motion. Oba Femi has been positioned as one of WWE\’s premier power threats in 2026, and a win over a returning Rusev would add another marquee name to his résumé heading toward WrestleMania season.

Women\’s IC No. 1 Contender Gauntlet Match: Lyra Valkyria vs. Bayley vs. IYO SKY vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Asuka vs. Ivy Nile

Six women compete in a gauntlet match with the winner earning a shot at AJ Lee\’s Women\’s Intercontinental Championship. The field includes multiple former champions, and the stakes are high — Raquel Rodriguez has called this her last chance at a WrestleMania moment, while IYO SKY and Bayley represent credible threats to upset the field. The winner becomes AJ Lee\’s first major challenger of her new reign.

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk Appears Live

The reigning World Heavyweight Champion is advertised for tonight as his WrestleMania 42 direction continues to develop. Punk\’s path to Las Vegas has been intertwined with the fallout from The Vision, and tonight\’s appearance could provide major clarity on his championship program heading into the biggest show of the year.

Vision Fallout: Logan Paul & Austin Theory Respond

Seth Rollins\’ brutal attack on Paul Heyman last week — which left Heyman bloodied and loaded into an ambulance that was later hijacked by LA Knight — sent shockwaves through The Vision. Austin Theory has already reacted publicly, and tonight Logan Paul and Theory are expected to respond to Rollins\’ actions as the faction scrambles to regroup.

    Road to WrestleMania 42

WrestleMania 42 takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada, roughly six weeks from tonight.

Tonight\’s Raw is one of the final episodes before the card begins to fully crystallize. With the Women\’s IC No. 1 contender being crowned, Punk\’s WrestleMania direction developing, and the Vision saga reaching a boiling point, the show figures to be pivotal in setting the table for the big matches in Las Vegas.

James, a WWE Hall of Famer best known for his time as one-half of the New Age Outlaws alongside \”Bad Ass\” Billy Gunn, had been serving as the head of creative for SmackDown.

  • Matt Riddle Calls Out WWE Star for Ratting to Dirtsheets

Matt Riddle is calling out Kevin Owens for leaking backstage information to wrestling dirt sheets, according to a new interview with R3 Interviews.

Riddle recalled a backstage confrontation with Brock Lesnar, claiming The Beast pulled him aside and made it clear there would be no future between them.

“Brock pulled me to the side and said, ‘We’re never going to work together. We’re never getting in the ring. Just keep my name out of your mouth,’” Riddle revealed.

Riddle then alleged that after confiding the exchange to Kevin Owens, the story quickly found its way online.

“I told Kevin Owens and seven minutes later it’s on the dirtsheets,” Riddle said, directly accusing Owens of being the source of the leak.

The revelation comes as Riddle has been competing on the independent scene, most recently appearing for Major League Wrestling (MLW).

Meanwhile, Brock Lesnar has been largely absent from WWE programming, with rumors swirling that The Beast could be heading toward retirement as early as this summer.

  • Kayla Becker Opens Up On Why She Left WWE

Kayla Becker, formerly known as WWE personality Kayla Braxton, has revealed the full reasoning behind her decision to leave WWE in June 2024, opening up in a candid new interview on Busted Open Radio.

Becker pointed to a combination of reduced responsibilities and creative frustration as the driving factors. She noted that the end of The Bump and being replaced by Jackie Redmond on Kickoff show hosting duties signaled a shift, saying she \”could kind of see the writing on the wall\” as WWE underwent its broader organizational changes.

    Outside Projects Blocked

The former SmackDown backstage interviewer also cited a lack of creative freedom as a major sticking point. \”My creativity was stifled, I wasn\’t allowed to do any outside projects,\” she said.

From her perspective it was no longer worth it to endure the WWE travel schedule for the amount of actual work she was getting.

Becker, who spent nearly eight years with WWE after joining in October 2016, said personal growth was ultimately the deciding factor.

\”As a woman, I\’m getting a little older. I\’m not gonna wake up in five more years and still be stuck doing this when I have these other things that I wanna be doing,\” she explained.

She noted the company was supportive of her exit, though she quipped they may have simply been relieved.?

Since departing WWE, Becker has pivoted toward acting, landing a role in the upcoming action film Stranglehold alongside MJF, Elle King, Justin Long, and Ron Perlman.

She has also expressed openness to returning to WWE, specifically if the company moves forward with a late-night style show.?

  • Vince McMahon, WWE Execs Face Sanctions Motion Over Alleged Destruction of Evidence in TKO Merger Lawsuit

Vince McMahon, along with Nick Khan and Paul Levesque, are facing a motion from plaintiffs in the TKO Group – WWE merger lawsuit seeking sanctions. The motion, filed in Delaware Chancery Court and obtained by Brandon Thurston of Post Wrestling and Wrestlenomics, alleges the destruction of relevant evidence, including Signal messages.

The plaintiffs are requesting the judge assume the missing evidence would have been unfavorable to the defendants. The motion alleges that McMahon, Khan, Levesque, Stephanie McMahon, and Brad Blum failed to preserve communications despite notices from WWE\’s legal team.

The plaintiffs describe McMahon\’s July 2022 resignation as \”pretextual,\” claiming that the merger process was \”rigged\” in favor of Endeavor.

Visit Brandon Thurston\’s Post Wrestling report for a more in-depth breakdown of this story.

    Signal App Usage

Nick Khan is alleged to have spearheaded communications on Signal, which allows users to set messages to auto-delete. He is also accused of deleting conventional text messages related to merger discussions.

The plaintiffs are seeking to extend discovery and investigate potential Signal group chats.

According to Delaware Chancery Court filings, a previously undisclosed meeting allegedly occurred on December 13, 2022, between Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Nick Khan, Ari Emanuel, and Mark Shapiro regarding a potential merger.

The plaintiffs argue this meeting supports their claim that the TKO merger was predetermined by McMahon with Emanuel\’s cooperation.

The case is ongoing, with a trial scheduled for June 2026.

  • Sammy Guevara on AEW Absence: \”Your Boy\’s Ready\”

Sammy Guevara is healthy and eager to get back into the ring for All Elite Wrestling. He\’s just waiting on that call.

Speaking on his Instagram Story Q&A on March 3, 2026, Guevara emphasized his physical readiness and eagerness to return to AEW, placing the onus on the promotion\’s decision-making.

\”They could literally call me at any point and I could go out there and compete for 30 minutes. I feel great, I feel healthy. So whenever I get that call, your boy’s ready.\”

Where in the World is Sammy Guevara?

He last appeared on AEW Dynamite on January 7, 2026, losing to Bandido, and last competed in ROH on HonorClub on February 12, 2026 (taped January 31, 2026) – a successful ROH tag title defense against Top Flight.

  • WWE Network Closing Permanently on April 1

WWE Network is officially shutting down completely on April 1, 2026, with Germany, Austria, and Italy being the final countries to lose access as their local media rights deals expire.

    The Final Closure

WWE sent emails to subscribers in Germany, Italy, and Austria confirming that the WWE Network will no longer be available in their regions beginning April 1, 2026.

Germany and Italy were among the last holdouts because existing contracts prevented Netflix from assuming WWE rights earlier — the vast majority of countries had already transitioned to Netflix on January 1, 2025.

Austria, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland had remained active on the standalone network into 2026 while those local deals ran their course.

    Germany\’s Complicated Transition

The transition for German fans is notably more complex than in other markets. While the WWE Network is shutting down, WWE programming in Germany and Austria currently airs on ProSieben MAXX under a deal, meaning not all WWE content will immediately become available on Netflix.

Fans will be able to access Premium Live Events on Netflix starting April 1, but the broader weekly programming situation remains tied to existing broadcast agreements.

    Italy and Netflix

Italy\’s transition is comparatively cleaner — the country is moving fully to Netflix in April and has also been rewarded with its first-ever WWE Premium Live EventClash in Italy, scheduled for May 31, 2026 at the Inalpi Arena in Turin. This big show coincides with the country\’s full integration into the Netflix streaming model.

    What This Means Globally

With the April 1 closure, the WWE Network — which launched internationally in 2014 and once operated in over 170 countries — will cease to exist as a standalone service entirely.

Netflix is now the exclusive international home for WWE content in virtually every market where the Network previously operated.

  • Cody Rhodes Discusses WWE Backstage Politics

The backstage environment in WWE has evolved, with talent being more open about sharing their ideas and less backstabbing than in previous eras. Cody Rhodes shared this perspective on the latest episode of his What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, and made a clear distinction that surviving and thriving in a political environment doesn\’t require underhanded tactics.

    Rhodes Separates Politics from Backstabbing

Rhodes recalled Roman Reigns once calling him a politician. While this was intended as an insult, he didn\’t take it as such. He expressed that pro wrestling, like any industry, is competitive, and it\’s not in your favor to ignore this reality.

The multi-time WWE Champion says you be very successful without having to manipulate or harm anyone else.

\”Roman Reigns called me a politician one time, and I remember thinking I’m not mad at that. I grew up in this business. Everyone is political to a degree, but to me there’s a difference between politics and posturing versus snaking and backstabbing.\”

Rhodes also noted that experienced wrestlers can tell when someone isn\’t being genuine about creative decisions. He sees a clear difference between constructive discussion and someone pushing their own agenda.

  • R-Truth Debuts Shaved Head, Shares Cryptic Caption

Ron Killings, better known to WWE fans as R-Truth, debuted a striking new look on social media this week — posting mirror selfies showing off a completely shaved head.

The photos went viral quickly, drawing thousands of likes and a flood of reactions from the wrestling community, with many fans humorously welcoming him to the \”baldie club.\”

It marks another step in an ongoing transformation for the 53-year-old veteran. Killings famously cut his dreads live on Raw back in June 2025, rebranding himself under his real name as part of a more serious character shift. He had been sporting a buzz cut since then, but has now taken it all the way.

    Alongside the photos, Killings posted a pointed caption: \”Truth 8:32 – the truth..the whole truth..nothing but the truth…shall set you free…LIVE YOUR TRUTH…Ron Killings.\”

With WrestleMania season underway, some fans are speculating whether the new look signals yet another evolution for the character — a more serious babyface repackaging, or something else entirely remains to be seen.

  • Hulk Hogan Estate Fights $10M Real American Beer Claim

The estate of the late Hulk Hogan is engaged in a legal dispute over Real American Beer. Carma HoldCo Inc., a celebrity branding company, filed a breach of contract claim seeking $10 million, alleging they were cut out of a deal to brand the beer with Hogan, who died on July 24, 2025.

According to TMZ, Carma claims it developed the Real American Beer concept with Hogan as the intended brand ambassador.

The company alleges that former RAB executives approached Hogan directly, using allegedly stolen materials to pitch a competing deal that excluded Carma. The claim was initially filed in January 2026.

    Estate Objects to Claim

The estate, through attorney Alan S. Gassman, filed a formal objection on Friday, March 1, 2026. The estate disputes the claim, asserting Carma never had a binding agreement with Hogan, never developed a beer product, and possessed no beer-related trade secrets.

Gassman stated, \”Previous filings from the defense call the allegations meritless and argue that Carma never had a binding agreement with Hogan, never developed an actual beer product, and had no protectable beer-related trade secrets.\”

Carma initially filed a federal lawsuit against RAB in July 2025, and the estate called it \’meritless\’ in October 2025. Carma amended its complaint after the estate\’s motion to dismiss.

Hogan’s estate includes more than $11 million in real estate, plus cryptocurrency, personal property, and intellectual property. The legal outcome will determine control over the Real American Beer business and who profits from Hogan\’s legacy.

    Match Previews

NXT Championship: Joe Hendry (c) vs. Ricky Saints

Joe Hendry captured the vacant NXT Title on February 3 by winning a seven-man Ladder Match — a match that also featured Saints. The moment Hendry\’s music hit with the gold, Saints made his displeasure violently clear, attacking Hendry post-match and issuing a direct challenge for Vengeance Day. Hendry accepted.

Hendry has been one of NXT\’s most organically over talents, having crossed over from TNA to become a genuine fan favorite on the WWE brand. For Saints, this is a chance at redemption — he was in that ladder match, came up short, and now wants what he believes he deserves. Expect this one to be the emotional centerpiece of the night.

NXT Women\’s North American Championship: Izzi Dame (c) vs. Tatum Paxley

This is a feud built on betrayal. Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley were once teammates in The Culling, making their current rivalry all the more bitter. Dame has been on a dominant roll — costing Paxley the NXT Women\’s Title before defeating Thea Hail to capture the North American Championship. Paxley issued the challenge for the title match, and Dame accepted.

The personal history between these two gives this match a different kind of heat than most title bouts. Paxley\’s obsessive intensity makes her a dangerous challenger, and Dame has shown she can back up her attitude with results in the ring.

NXT Underground Match: Lola Vice vs. Kelani Jordan

The bad blood between Lola Vice and Kelani Jordan traces back to October 2025, when Jordan represented TNA at the NXT vs. TNA Showdown. That drew the wrath of NXT loyalists like Vice, who branded Jordan a traitor to the brand. Things escalated when Jordan broke Vice\’s hand during their ongoing battles, leading Vice to demand an NXT Underground Match — no disqualifications, anything goes.

The Underground stipulation plays into Vice\’s striking background, but Jordan has shown she can match the intensity. This one promises to get physical in a hurry.

  • Roman Reigns\’ Cousin Threatens to Slap CM Punk

CM Punk may have bitten off more than he can chew after invoking the memory of Roman Reigns\’ late father, Sika, on Monday Night Raw — because now the Anoa\’i family is firing back.

During the March 2 episode of Raw, Punk — the reigning World Heavyweight Champion — told Reigns he would \”bury him next to his father\” as the two traded words ahead of their WrestleMania 42 main event showdown.

Now, an extended family member is making sure Punk knows that his remark reverberated more than he might have thought.

    Zilla Fatu Issues Direct Warning

Zilla Fatu, son of the late Umaga and cousin of Roman Reigns, took to an X Livestream to address Punk\’s comments directly. He didn\’t hold back:

\”I am not a CM Punk fan no more. I\’m about to slap CM Punk when I see him! Y\’all clip this sh*t. When I see you CM Punk, I\’m gonna slap the f*ck out of you.\”

The Anoa\’i family is one of professional wrestling\’s most storied dynasties, and Punk\’s decision to invoke Sika by name on live television clearly struck a nerve that goes well beyond the WrestleMania stage.

You can be sure we\’ll be hearing from more of Reigns\’ extended family in the lead-up to April 19.
