  • Marko Stunt Explains His Decision to Retire From Wrestling

Marko Stunt says he made the difficult decision to retire from professional wrestling due to injuries and a desire to spend more time with his young family.

Stunt made a name for himself wrestling for Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), IWA Mid-South, and All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as part of the Jurassic Express faction.

Stunt has battled chronic lower back pain stemming from his right hip rotating inward, has caused misalignment in his tailbone and legs. During an interview with Love Wrestling, he says the condition left his right leg weaker and shorter, risking further complications, including potential paralysis.

He made every effort to remain in the business, including a two-year layoff to rest his body. However, when a return to the ring left him in significant pain, he knew it was time to listen to the advice of his doctors.

“It’s something I’ve been trying to avoid for a while… their recommendation was, for my long-term health, to step away.”

Marko Stunt on his retirement from wrestling

Stunt still loves pro wrestling, and we all know that\’s a tough habit to kick. However, he\’s looking forward to spending more time with his young family and raising his daughter.

In a sport dominated by giants, where being 6-feet-tall is nothing special, Stunt defied the odds and embraced his biggest disadvantage – his height (billed at 5\’2\”). The self-proclaimed \’Mr. Fun Size\’ did the impossible and will be an inspiration to others who want to pursue their dreams, despite not being the prototype for success.

  • WWE Champ Gunther\’s Warning to Goldberg: \’I\’m Happy to Teach Him a Lesson\’

Gunther is gearing up for his big match against Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel, but the reigning World Heavyweight champion hasn\’t forgotten about Bill Goldberg.

Goldberg was among the pro wrestling legends on hand for last month\’s Bad Blood PLE from Atlanta, and brought his wife and son to the show. The 57-year-old legend wound up jumping the barricade and having an intense face-off with Gunther.

It looked like WWE was planting the seeds for potential match between them, and now Gunther is talking about the situation. During an interview with with La Previa (WWE Español), the Austrian Superstar said it was nice meeting all the legends in attendance that night, but felt compelled to playfully antagonize Goldberg when he first spotted him.

“I was invited out there to speak about the Crown Jewel Championship. We had a lot of legends in the house and I met a lot of them backstage. One of the very few I didn’t meet that I just saw was there before was Goldberg, so when our eyes crossed, basically I was like, why not break some balls a little bit?

He doesn’t seem to be able to take things lightly. I tried to lighten up the mood a little bit, but push comes to shove, and he thinks he wants to get back into the business and wrestle again, then I’m happy to teach him a lesson.\”

    – Gunther

    What Goldberg said about Gunther

Goldberg recently gave his side of the story last week on the CarCast podcast. He was in Atlanta to film a TV show when WWE invited him to attend Bad Blood. He appreciated the gesture, especially in light of their rocky relationship over the years.

\”I should have known,\” he said. \”I should have known somebody was going to try and mess with me. In Atlanta, no less. We were having a great time. Gunther, I don\’t want to make anything more of it than it was, but.. You know me, I\’m not going to sit there and let some dude talk shit. Period. End of story.

What started out to be an innocent attendance of a pay-per-view turned out to being insulted by one of their current champions. I don\’t care where we were, I would have done the same thing anywhere.

I ain\’t dead yet. As long as I\’m breathing, don\’t ever talk shit about me, especially my family. When he brought Gage into it and me being a dad, that was it. It was nothing more than that.\”

Goldberg has frequently expressed his desire for a retirement match and has criticized Vince McMahon for allegedly promising one without following through. Numerous current wrestlers and legends have noted the significant changes in WWE since Triple H took over from McMahon. The incident at Bad Blood, along with the ongoing comments from both men, suggests that Goldberg might still have one more match left in him.

  • Adam Cole Reflects on Missed AEW Opportunity with Bryan Danielson

Adam Cole wishes he could have worked with Bryan Danielson during their time in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), but he\’s happy he got to share a ring with the American Dragon once.

Cole was back in action on Wednesday\’s AEW Dynamite and picked up a hard-fought win against Malakai Black of the House of Black. It was his first match in 423 days, and the former NXT Champion showed little signs of the dreaded \’ring rust.\’

They both debuted for AEW on the same night, during the conclusion of the All Out 2021 pay-per-view. Unfortunately, each man battling respective injuries prevented them from doing much together in the ring. Cole spoke with the Stick to Wrestling Podcast and admitted he\’s disappointed they never wrestled a singles match in AEW.

\”Bryan is so universally loved, respected and admired. Not just by fans, but literally by every wrestler I’ve ever met. Holding Out Hope

Cole looks back fondly on their AEW debuts, and the excitement he felt sharing a ring with Danielson, even in a non-wrestling capacity.

\”It was an honor to step into the ring with Bryan Danielson so, I got so excited at the idea because we both debuted the same night here at AEW and I thought, oh my God, we’re gonna get the chance to do it again and at AEW in front of the AEW fans, I can’t wait.\”

Danielson is now out of action indefinitely and facing another possible neck surgery later this year, if stem cell therapy does not treat his ailments. Cole is happy Danielson is focusing solely on his health, but is hoping they do meet one day day down the road.

\”So at least now for the time being, it seems like that probably won’t happen so of course, that’s a bummer for me but Bryan’s health and Bryan’s safety and Bryan’s legacy is the most important thing so I’m glad that Bryan is able to rest and heal and again, Bryan’s one of the greatest to ever do it and selfishly, I do wish I could have stepped into the ring with him again but who knows? Never say never. Maybe someday, maybe someday.\”
