WWE NXT Revenge Preview (4/14/26): Full Match Card

WWE NXT airs tonight (Tuesday, April 14, 2026) from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, live on The CW starting at 8 PM ET.

Tonight kicks off NXT Revenge, a two-week special event announced by General Manager Robert Stone on last week’s show. The first night features two championship matches as both newly crowned champions defend for the first time, a Speed Championship tournament semifinal, a grudge match, and a concert from former NXT Champion Joe Hendry. Here’s everything you need to know including start times, how to watch, and the full card.

NXT Revenge Week 1 Match Card for April 14, 2026

Here are the matches and segments announced for tonight’s show:

Tony D’Angelo (c) vs. Ethan Page (NXT Championship)

Tony D’Angelo puts the NXT Championship on the line for the first time since winning it at Stand & Deliver in a fatal four-way. The victory made D’Angelo the first NXT Grand Slam Champion in history, having previously held the North American Championship, Heritage Cup, and Tag Team Championships.

Page has a personal score to settle. During an eight-man tag team match on last week’s NXT, Page kicked D’Angelo out of the way and stole the pin against DarkState, prompting D’Angelo to request this match. Page said backstage that he wants to humble D’Angelo, claiming the new champion is chasing glory and the spotlight now that he’s achieved grand slam status. After spending nearly two years in NXT since leaving AEW, Page has the experience and the chip on his shoulder to make this a legitimate threat.

Lola Vice (c) vs. Jacy Jayne (NXT Women’s Championship)

Lola Vice makes her first defense after capturing the NXT Women’s Championship at Stand & Deliver, where she pinned Jayne with a spinning backfist in a triple threat that also included Kendal Grey. Jayne held the title for 137 days before losing it in St. Louis.

Jayne will have Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid in her corner tonight. Henley recently lost the WWE Women’s Speed Championship, so the entire stable is hungry to reclaim gold. Vice’s MMA-influenced striking style gave her the edge at Stand & Deliver, but Jayne won’t go quietly with backup at ringside.

    Jaida Parker vs. Kelani Jordan

The bad blood between Parker and Jordan continues. Parker defeated Jordan on the March 31 episode of NXT, but Jordan attacked her backstage afterward. Parker responded by promising to make Jordan’s life miserable throughout the week at the Performance Center. This rivalry has been simmering for months, dating back to Jordan’s return from TNA and her subsequent heel turn. Tonight should settle who has the upper hand heading into week two of Revenge.

EK Prosper vs. Dorian Van Dux (WWE Men’s Speed Championship Tournament Semifinal)

The tournament for the vacant WWE Speed Championship continues with this semifinal bout. The title was vacated after Elio LeFleur suffered a shoulder injury at a house show. Prosper has been in the Speed title conversation for months and enters as the more established NXT name. Van Dux is relatively unknown to the NXT audience, having worked primarily in Evolve and AAA. Lexis King already advanced to the finals after defeating Chazz “Starboy” Hall last week, so the winner here faces King in the tournament final during NXT Revenge Week 2 on April 21.

    Joe Hendry Live in Concert

Former NXT Champion Joe Hendry will address his future through a live concert segment. Hendry lost the NXT Championship to D’Angelo in the fatal four-way at Stand & Deliver after holding the title since February. Robert Stone indicated that Hendry will discuss what’s next, which could mean a championship rematch, a main roster call-up, or an entirely different direction. Given the crowd reception Hendry consistently receives, this segment could set the tone for one of NXT’s biggest storylines heading into the summer.

Road to NXT Revenge Week 2

NXT Revenge Week 2 takes place Tuesday, April 21, from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

The second week is headlined by Sol Ruca vs. Zaria in a Last Woman Standing Match, plus the WWE Men’s Speed Championship Tournament Final featuring Lexis King against tonight’s semifinal winner. Kali Armstrong, the former Evolve Women’s Champion, will also make her NXT debut. Tonight’s results will shape additional matchups for next week’s show.

WWE Confirms WrestleMania 42 Opening Matches for Both Nights

    WrestleMania Saturday Opener

WWE confirmed the opening matches for both nights of WrestleMania 42 during Monday Night Raw, setting the stage for its biggest event of the year and highlighting the show’s availability on ESPN’s cable and streaming platforms.

WrestleMania Saturday (Night One) will open with a six-man tag team match, as LA Knight teams with The Usos against The Vision and IShowSpeed. The company announced the bout in the opening minutes of Raw.

WrestleMania Sunday (Night Two) begins with Brock Lesnar facing Oba Femi in a highly anticipated singles match. The showdown marks a major WrestleMania spotlight for Femi against the veteran Lesnar.

WrestleMania 42 is scheduled as a two-night premium live event, continuing the format WWE has used in recent years.

    WrestleMania 42 on ESPN

WrestleMania 42 marks WWE’s biggest move yet into the ESPN ecosystem, with the show split between linear TV and streaming. Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas will host the two-night event on April 18 and 19, headlined by Cody Rhodes defending the undisputed WWE championship against Randy Orton on Night 1 and CM Punk defending the world heavyweight title against Roman Reigns on Night 2. Fans can also look forward to marquee women’s title bouts featuring Stephanie Vaquer vs. Liv Morgan and Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley, plus special attractions like Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi and a stacked intercontinental ladder match.

For viewers, the ESPN deal means WrestleMania 42 will be easier to find across multiple platforms. Coverage starts at 6 p.m. ET both nights, with the first hour airing on ESPN2 on Saturday and ESPN on Sunday, while subscribers to the ESPN Unlimited plan can stream the full cards in the ESPN app and designated streaming hub. This setup gives casual sports fans a free taste on traditional ESPN channels, then funnels them to the streaming service for the rest of the action, backed by expanded coverage and features in ESPN’s dedicated WWE hub.

  • Brock Lesnar Signs WrestleMania 42 Contract, Oba Femi Match Official

Brock Lesnar Signs WrestleMania 42 Contract, Oba Femi Match Official

Brock Lesnar signed his WrestleMania 42 contract on Monday’s Raw, officially making his match against Oba Femi a done deal.

The Beast Incarnate put pen to paper during the opening segment of the go-home Raw from Sacramento, one week after their initial contract signing descended into chaos. That April 6 segment saw the two behemoths brawl before either man could sign, with the fight continuing after Raw went off the air.

With the paperwork finally complete, Lesnar and Femi will collide at WrestleMania 42 this weekend. The match is scheduled to open Night 2 on Sunday, April 19, airing on ESPN before the Netflix simulcast.

Oba Femi answered Lesnar’s open challenge last month, and has had the upper hand in nearly every physical confrontation since. The former NXT Champion will look to make a statement against the 16-time world champion on the biggest stage in wrestling.

WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

  • Ridge Holland Medically Cleared to Return to Pro Wrestling

Ridge Holland Medically Cleared to Return to Pro Wrestling

Luke Menzies, the former WWE star known as Ridge Holland, announced today that he has been medically cleared to return to professional wrestling.

Menzies shared a letter from Dr. Norman Waldrop III dated April 6, 2026 confirming his recovery from C5-7 cervical disc replacement surgery performed by Dr. Sheeraz Qureshi at the Hospital for Special Surgery on November 24, 2025. The letter states Menzies “has progressed very well post-operatively, with an excellent clinical recovery” and confirms he has returned to baseline function with no restrictions on his left foot.

“Here we go Mr Menzies,” he wrote on X, tagging the post with #return and #cleared.

Menzies suffered a Lisfranc foot injury during a TNA match against Moose in September 2025. Shortly after, he learned he would also need neck surgery after doctors discovered two collapsed discs causing nerve impingement. WWE released him in November 2025 after he publicly criticized the company for not renewing his contract while he was injured.

Despite the acrimonious split, WWE covered his medical expenses for both procedures.

In a recent podcast appearance, Menzies said he was starting to feel the itch to return. “My body started feeling good again — back in the gym, doing my cardio, feeling great,” he said. “I’ve got so much to prove here. So I think I will give wrestling another shot.”

Menzies spent seven years with WWE from 2018-2025, winning the NXT Tag Team Championship alongside Andre Chase in August 2025. His career was also marked by the March 2022 incident where a belly-to-belly suplex injured Big E’s neck and ended the former WWE Champion’s in-ring career.

  • Vince McMahon Listed as Hall of Famer on WWE Shop

Vince McMahon Listed as Hall of Famer on WWE Shop

WWE Shop has a factual error on its hands. A product listing for a new Stephanie McMahon 2026 Hall of Fame Legacy Title Belt claims she will be “joining her father and husband” in the WWE Hall of Fame, but Vince McMahon has never been inducted.

The belt, priced at $850, was released as a collector’s item tied to Stephanie’s induction this Friday, April 17, at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas. The product description reads: “The McMahon family has shaped sports entertainment for generations, and now Stephanie McMahon is joining her father and husband in the WWE Hall of Fame!”

The claim about her husband is accurate. Triple H was inducted into the Class of 2025. The claim about her father is not. Vince McMahon, who resigned from TKO Group Holdings in January 2024 amid legal troubles, has never received a Hall of Fame induction. Notably, his own father, Vincent J. McMahon (Vince Sr.), was inducted into the Class of 1996.

    Stephanie McMahon’s Induction

Stephanie was announced as the first inductee of the 2026 class in September 2025, when The Undertaker surprised her ringside at WWE Wrestlepalooza. The Undertaker is set to serve as her official inductor at Friday’s ceremony, part of WrestleMania 42 weekend.

The rest of the Class of 2026 includes AJ Styles, Demolition, Dennis Rodman, and the late Sycho Sid as a legacy inductee.

It remains to be seen whether WWE will quietly correct the product description or address the error publicly. The belt is currently available on WWE Shop for $850.

Liv Morgan Releases “Trouble” Music Video Ahead of WrestleMania 42

Liv Morgan dropped her “Trouble” music video on Monday, April 13, less than a week before she challenges for the Women’s World Championship against Stephanie Vaquer at night one of WrestleMania 42 on Saturday, April 18.

The visual leans into Morgan’s current on-screen persona. Wearing an “I Heart Trouble” T-shirt, the 31-year-old lights a car on fire, tears up a pool table, and gets a tattoo throughout the edgy clip, per Billboard.

Morgan faces Vaquer with the Women’s World Championship on the line at WrestleMania 42.

  • Sami Zayn Lashes Out at WWE Fans Ahead of WrestleMania

Sami Zayn Lashes Out at WWE Fans Ahead of WrestleMania

Sami Zayn has seemingly responded to fan criticism of his WWE United States Championship reign ahead of his title defense against Trick Williams at WrestleMania 42 this weekend.

WWE fans have grown tired of Zayn being pushed as a prominent character, and have been voicing their displeasure at shows and online. Despite his multiple championship wins and prominent positioning, the champ isn’t pleased at the reception to his push.

Zayn captured the U.S. Title from Carmelo Hayes just weeks ago. He was quickly booked for a championship match at WrestleMania in Las Vegas.

The decision has drawn criticism from fans who believe Hayes should be defending the title at the premium live event instead.

The champion has received mixed reactions at recent events, including a “Sami Hogan” chant during a recent episode of SmackDown. On Twitter, Zayn posted an image suggesting he hasn’t done anything wrong, though he didn’t explicitly address the criticism.

    WrestleMania History

WrestleMania 42 will mark Zayn’s eighth appearance at the event, while it will be Williams’ first time competing on the showcase of the immortals. Hayes has yet to compete at a WrestleMania.

With such strong resistance to Zayn being portrayed heroically, there’s speculation that the company could attempt a “double turn” at WrestleMania: establishing Zayn as a villain while capitalizing on Williams’ popularity and putting him in the role people can get behind.

WWE Raw Card for April 13, 2026

WWE has not announced specific matches for tonight’s show. Adam Pearce confirmed six major stars for the broadcast but kept the rest of the details close to the vest. Here are the confirmed appearances and storylines heading into the final Raw before WrestleMania.

Roman Reigns and CM Punk (c) Face Off (World Heavyweight Championship)

Roman Reigns returns to Raw after missing last week’s show, where CM Punk delivered a scathing promo targeting Reigns, The Rock, and Pat McAfee. Pearce confirmed that Reigns will have a special message for his WrestleMania opponent.

The last time both men were in the building together, Punk slammed Reigns through the announce desk to close the March 30 edition of Raw. Reigns won the Royal Rumble back in January, entering at number 26 and scoring five eliminations to earn a shot at Punk’s World Heavyweight Championship. Their WrestleMania match headlines Night 2 on April 19.

Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi Appear

Both men are confirmed for tonight after last week’s contract signing devolved into chaos. Lesnar attacked Femi before he could step into the ring, and dozens of security personnel failed to separate them until after Raw went off the air. Femi has had the upper hand every time the two have collided since answering Lesnar’s open challenge. Their match takes place on Night 2 during the opening hour on ESPN.

    Seth Rollins and Gunther Appear

Rollins and Gunther will both be in Sacramento. Two weeks ago, Gunther attacked Rollins. Last week, Rollins confronted Gunther on Raw, leading to another brawl. A backstage segment afterward saw Gunther telling Paul Heyman that he owed him more than just a thank you for saving him from Rollins. Their singles match is scheduled for Night 1 of WrestleMania.

    Liv Morgan Injury Update Expected

Stephanie Vaquer ambushed Liv Morgan last week, shoving her into Roxanne Perez and leaving both with visible injuries. Both were placed in concussion protocol. A Fightful report indicated that Morgan and Perez are expected to be cleared for WrestleMania, but fans should get an official update on tonight’s show. Vaquer defends the Women’s World Championship against Morgan on Night 1.

    Asuka vs. IYO SKY Status

Asuka issued a challenge to IYO SKY last week. The match was on WWE’s internal lineup but may be pushed to Backlash on May 9, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Night 2 already has six announced matches, and WWE is weighing whether to add a seventh. Tonight could provide clarity.

    Additional Stars Advertised

Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch, and Jey Uso are all advertised for tonight’s show. Ripley faces Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship on Night 2. Lynch challenges AJ Lee for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on Night 1. Royce Keys hinted at a possible appearance, noting that Sacramento is a short drive from San Jose, where he made his main roster debut on SmackDown last week.

    Road to WWE WrestleMania 42

WrestleMania 42 takes place Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. John Cena hosts the two-night event. Night 1 airs on ESPN2 (first hour) and the ESPN App. Night 2 airs on ESPN (first hour) and the ESPN App. Internationally, both nights stream on Netflix.

The full WrestleMania 42 card features 13 matches across both nights, headlined by Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship (Night 1) and CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship (Night 2).

Jack Perry retained the AEW National Championship at AEW Dynasty Zero Hour on April 12, defeating Don Callis Family member Mark Davis in singles competition. Perry secured the pinfall victory with a hurricanrana.

The match saw Perry escape Davis’s signature Close Your Eyes and Count to Three maneuver before delivering a piledriver that nearly ended the contest. Perry got a close two count off the move before ultimately finishing Davis with the hurricanrana moments later.

    First Successful Title Defense

This marked the first successful defense of Perry’s National Championship reign. He captured the title at AEW Revolution by winning the 21-man Blackjack Battle Royale.

  • Roman Reigns on Retirement: “I’m 40 Years Young”

Roman Reigns on Retirement: “I’m 40 Years Young”

Roman Reigns isn’t ready to retire from WWE just yet. The 40-year-old superstar addressed his future plans in a recent interview, making it clear he still has more to accomplish in the ring.

“There is still a little more juice to squeeze,” Reigns said during an interview with Nico Leonard to promote WrestleMania 42. “Almost there, but not quite.”

The WWE superstar explained his reasoning for continuing to compete despite approaching what many consider the twilight of a wrestling career. He pointed to advances in sports science and nutrition that have extended careers across professional wrestling.

    Financial and Creative Motivations

Reigns elaborated on both the financial and creative factors keeping him active.

“I still feel like I have a lot to offer. I’m 40 years young,” he stated. With everything that we have within sports science, nutrition, all the information we have, careers have been extended. We also get to a point where you grind it out early in your career, and then once you get towards the back end, that equity kicks in, and then you get into a different ballpark as far as finances. I’m not going to leave the park now. If the ATM machine isn’t broken, you’re not going to run away from it. You’re going to keep collecting that money.”

He added that creative opportunities remain a driving force. “I still feel like, creatively, there is so much left for me to do, and there is still a great deal of earning for me to take advantage of.”

Reigns is scheduled to challenge CM Punk for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of night two at WrestleMania 42. The Premium Live Event takes place April 18-19 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

  • Roman Reigns Says WWE Has No True Competition

Roman Reigns Says WWE Has No True Competition

Roman Reigns declared that WWE stands alone at the top of professional wrestling as he prepares to headline WrestleMania 42. The Tribal Chief, who will challenge CM Punk for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, made the comments during an interview with Nico Leonard.

Reigns has been a main event fixture in WWE for over a decade and shows no signs of slowing down.

Despite accomplishing everything possible in the company, he continues to position himself as the industry’s top performer.

Reigns on WWE’s Position in Wrestling

“There is no true competition for us. There are other promotions and places to work in wrestling, but if you want to be in the top show and you want to be considered at the very tippy top of the mountain, you have to be in WWE,” Reigns said in the interview.

The Tribal Chief emphasized his ability to continuously evolve despite his extensive list of accomplishments.

“I’ve done everything you can do there, but you still continue to dominate the scene and still be the number one guy,” he stated.

    WrestleMania 42 Title Match

Reigns explained his approach to staying relevant at the top of the card.

“The moment they think you’ve done everything you can do, you can still pop up and show them, ‘here is another layer. Here’s another little sliver of entertainment that you didn’t think,’ or we can evolve the culture a little bit, one way or another.”

The WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against CM Punk will take place on WrestleMania Sunday. The bout represents another high-profile main event for Reigns as he continues his run at the top of WWE.

  • CM Punk, Roman Reigns Set for Raw Before WrestleMania 42

CM Punk, Roman Reigns Set for Raw Before WrestleMania 42

    CM Punk and Roman Reigns

CM Punk and Roman Reigns will both appear on Monday’s Raw from Sacramento, California. The WrestleMania 42 go-home show features several major stars ahead of next weekend’s premium live event.

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced the lineup via social media on Sunday. Reigns will deliver a message for his WrestleMania opponent, heavyweight champion CM Punk, who is also scheduled to appear.

    Lesnar and Femi Confrontation Expected

Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi are both scheduled for Monday’s show following recent tensions between the two. Pearce referenced what has happened between them over the past couple weeks when making the announcement.

Intercontinental Champion Gunther and Seth Rollins will also appear. Pearce teased their presence after everything that has transpired between them heading into WrestleMania weekend.

    WrestleMania 42 Go-Home Show

“For those of you who always complain that I give everything away on the internet, today’s your lucky day, because I’m holding my cards very, very close,” Pearce said in his video announcement. “Less than a week from WrestleMania, what can you expect on Raw? Roman Reigns. He will be live and he will have a very special message for his WrestleMania opponent, the heavyweight champion of the world, CM Punk.”

Raw airs Monday at 8 p.m. Eastern on Netflix from Sacramento. The show serves as the final episode before WrestleMania 42 next weekend.

  • Shawn Michaels Reacts to Pop Culture Crossovers at Age 60

Shawn Michaels Reacts to Pop Culture Crossovers at Age 60

Shawn Michaels keeps going viral, and he has no idea how it keeps happening.

In an interview with Big Gold Belt Media, the 60-year-old WWE Hall of Famer reflected on his recent pop culture crossovers, from Deontay Wilder recreating his iconic WrestleMania 24 farewell to Ric Flair mid-boxing match, to his Sexyy Red collaboration on NXT. His take on all of it? He’s the last person who should be cool.

“I’m almost 61 now and I’m the uncoolest guy in the entire world. Trust me, my family can tell you I’m so not [cool],” Michaels said, laughing.

    ‘Something Romantic About Wrestling’

Rather than taking credit for the moments, Michaels expressed genuine surprise that his career continues to resonate across different audiences and sports.

“I feel very blessed and fortunate in that respect,” he said of the Wilder moment.

He compared the emotional pull of wrestling to the way baseball is romanticized in film.

“There are sometimes I’ve felt like, am I the only one that feels this way about this stuff? It’s always like in Bull Durham, there’s something romantic about baseball, and I feel like in our world there’s often times something romantic about WWE and wrestling. Thankfully I’m not the only one that feels like that.”

    Walking Through Open Doors

Michaels said the key to these crossover moments is that he never chases them. The Sexyy Red appearance and similar viral moments happened because he stayed open rather than trying to manufacture something.

“One of the things I’ve learned in my life is if I try to push for too many things to make them happen, I end up screwing them up,” he said. “I kind of just do my best to walk through the doors that are open and not try to kick open the ones that don’t appear to be.”

Despite the pop culture attention, Michaels said his priority hasn’t shifted.

“Right now it’s just focusing on NXT, continuing to build stars for Raw and SmackDown and for the future of WWE, allowing those good things to happen as they happen, taking advantage of them when they’re there, and enjoying them when they’re there.”

Michaels’ Peacock documentary, “The Heartbreak Kid: Becoming Shawn Michaels,” premieres Monday, April 13.

The quotes in this article have been lightly edited for clarity.

  • Shawn Michaels Takes Hands-Off Approach to New Documentary

Shawn Michaels Takes Hands-Off Approach to New Documentary

Shawn Michaels says he takes a hands-off approach when it comes to documentaries about his career. The WWE Hall of Famer discussed his involvement in the new Peacock original documentary, The Heartbreak Kid: Becoming Shawn Michaels, set to release on April 13.

In an interview with Big Gold Media, Michaels explained his philosophy on letting filmmakers tell his story without interference. He questioned how this documentary would differ from previous ones about his career.

    Focus on NXT Role

“I will say one of the things when it comes to these documentaries, I’m very hands off. Especially, I guess, this one, I was just curious how it was going to be different than the other ones, and I never like to be dismissive of, I don’t know, of my story by any stretch, but it felt like, ‘oh, well, we’ve kind of told it (all) before.’ How will this one be different?” Michaels said.

The documentary distinguishes itself by focusing heavily on Michaels’ current work as WWE NXT’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative. He expressed satisfaction that the film highlights his role mentoring the next generation of WWE superstars.

“Obviously that was the idea is that it’s so much more focused on what it is we do in NXT and just how important and what a big part of certainly my life and even to some extent the life of my family, how big it is,” Michaels explained.

“So that was something that, again, that I was pleased to see that we would be focusing a lot on that because that is, again, the biggest part of my life right now, and having the opportunity to give back to an industry that’s been so good to me and to do it through the young men and women that come through our doors in NXT.”

The Peacock original documentary premieres April 13 and will explore both Michaels’ legendary in-ring career and his current leadership position in NXT.

Following the viral popularity of “Main Event” Jey Uso’s YEET entrance, WWE is looking for a theme that allows for greater crowd participation. The company wants something more engaging as The Usos head into their WrestleMania 42 match.

The decision to scrap the theme came quickly after the MSG debut. According to sources, company officials were put off by the lackluster response and are moving to overhaul the integral part of the team’s presentation.

The Usos Head to WrestleMania 42

The Usos lost the World Tag Team Championship to Austin Theory and Logan Paul on RAW at MSG. The match featured interference from IShowSpeed and LA Knight, with Speed accidentally hitting The Megastar and allowing Theory to capitalize for the win.

Jordynne Grace returned to the ring on April 10, facing Zelina Vega in a match taped for WWE Main Event before SmackDown. The bout marked Grace’s first action since suffering an ankle injury over a month ago.

    Recovery From Ankle Injury

Following the injury, Grace posted a photo on social media showing herself in a walking boot and wheelchair. Chelsea Green, who was also dealing with an ankle injury at the time, provided the wheelchair.

Kevin Owens WWE World WrestleMania 42 Appearance Canceled

Kevin Owens will not appear at WWE World during WrestleMania 42 weekend in Las Vegas. WWE officially canceled The Prizefighter’s scheduled autograph and photo op sessions, notifying fans via email this week.

Owens was originally announced for the fan event in March. The cancellation comes as the former WWE Universal Champion has been absent from WWE programming since April 2025 following neck surgery. His scheduled match with Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41 was called off due to the injury.

WWE sent an email to fans who purchased autograph or photo op sessions with Owens. The message stated: “Dear fan, Kevin Owens is no longer able to make it to WWE World at WrestleMania 42. Unfortunately, this means your photo op or autograph has been canceled.”

The company did not provide a specific reason for the cancellation in the email. Owens has not commented publicly on his absence from the WrestleMania 42 weekend event.

    Owens on Independent Wrestling Scene

During a July 2025 appearance on Cody Rhodes’ “What Do You Wanna Talk About?” podcast, Owens discussed the current state of independent wrestling. The former Universal Champion admitted he doesn’t follow the independent scene as closely as he once did.

“It almost feels like there is no independent scene anymore. I know there is, I just don’t know enough about it because it’s just not what it used to be,” Owens said on the podcast. “A lot of it is because independent talents in the last few years have been signed. I’m not saying there are no independent standouts, I just don’t know them.”

Owens acknowledged his limited time to follow wrestling outside WWE has contributed to his lack of familiarity with current independent talent. He noted the landscape has changed significantly in recent years as promotions have signed many standout independent wrestlers.

  • Nic Nemeth Still Has Political Aspirations

Nic Nemeth Still Has Political Aspirations

Nic Nemeth has revealed that his career ambitions extend far beyond professional wrestling, with political office remaining a serious long-term goal. The TNA star opened up about his future plans during a recent appearance on the Generation of Wrestling podcast.

Nemeth, known to WWE fans as Dolph Ziggler, explained that he mapped out an ambitious 20-year plan while attending Kent State University. That roadmap included becoming a lawyer, winning multiple World Championships, competing in MMA, hosting Saturday Night Live, and eventually entering politics.

“20 years ago, the plan was to be pre-law at Kent State, become a lawyer while I’m training for wrestling, become a two-time world champion, host Saturday Night Live, join UFC for one fight, and then go on to become like the Mayor of Palm Springs, and then move my way into being like a Senator,” Nemeth said. “I still have those political aspirations.”

    Political Passion Remains Strong

The former WWE Champion discussed his long-standing interest in politics and law, noting how public engagement with political issues has evolved dramatically since his college days. He recalled the 2000 presidential election tie, which fascinated him despite widespread campus apathy at the time.

“I love everything about politics, and so many people started following it about 10-11 years ago,” Nemeth explained. “In college, there was a tie for the presidential election. There was a tie in 2000, and nobody cared on my campus because nobody gave a damn about it. Now, too many people might care about it.”

Nemeth revealed he continues to study law in his spare time, reading legal textbooks to stay informed and sharp. He specifically mentioned Cleveland as a potential starting point for his political career.

“I still follow the law. I get certain laws for like dummies books, and that’s something I like to read in between to stay smart with everything and learn as much as I possibly can,” he said. “Yes, I absolutely would still love to do that, and I feel like that would be something that I could very well do some good, maybe for Cleveland down the line.”

Nemeth currently competes for TNA Wrestling after departing WWE in 2023. He has held the TNA World Championship and continues to work as one of the promotion’s top stars.

  • Darby Allin Wants Jackass Movie Role, Recalls Steve-O Pitch

Darby Allin Wants Jackass Movie Role, Recalls Steve-O Pitch

Darby Allin says he would love to appear in a Jackass movie, revealing he previously pitched a stunt to Steve-O for Jackass Forever before the pandemic derailed those plans.

The AEW star addressed the topic in an interview with TMZ Sports, clarifying past headlines that suggested he would appear in the fourth Jackass film. While that never materialized, Allin remains open to working with the franchise that shaped his wrestling persona.

“I talked to Steve-O probably forever ago, back when they were filming the fourth movie (Jackass Forever), right before the pandemic. I said, ‘Yo, put me in that movie,’” Allin said.

“But yeah, honestly, I would love to do anything. Just because I think of everything that inspired me. I wasn’t really inspired by wrestling growing up. I was inspired by skateboarding, Jackass and all those crazy shows.”

    Jackass Influence on Wrestling Style

Allin explained how the MTV stunt series influenced his approach to professional wrestling more than traditional wrestling itself. The daredevil style he brings to AEW programming draws directly from those early inspirations.

“So, just to bring that into the world of wrestling was so fun,” he continued. “Of course, you would like to do anything. But if it doesn’t work out, that’s amazing, too. Because everybody’s on their own road and everything like that. I feel like I’m living Jackass on a weekly basis on AEW.”

The interview comes as Allin continues his run in AEW, where his high-risk style and willingness to take punishment have made him a fan favorite. Whether a future Jackass collaboration happens remains to be seen, but Allin made clear the door remains open.

  • Match Could Be Pulled From WWE WrestleMania 42 and Moved To Backlash

Match Could Be Pulled From WWE WrestleMania 42 and Moved To Backlash

Asuka vs. IYO SKY may not be happening at WrestleMania 42 after all, with WWE now considering moving the match to Backlash.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the decision remains up in the air, but the report states the match “may not even be the backup plan, but the plan, to save the match for Backlash on 5/9.” The match was listed on WWE’s internal lineup last week but was not included when the company announced both nights’ cards on ESPN on April 7.

The uncertainty comes down to time. Night Two of WrestleMania 42 currently has six announced matches, and WWE is weighing how long they want the show to run and how much time to allocate to each bout. With a loaded card already in place, adding a seventh match to Sunday night may simply not be practical.

Both women have been actively building toward the matchup in recent days. Asuka filmed a taped interview on Raw this week to advance the feud, and IYO SKY posted a photo of Allegiant Stadium on social media teasing her WrestleMania appearance. A previous Wrestling Observer report had described the match as “probable” as the 14th and final match across both nights, characterizing it as “not like 100%” confirmed.

If the move to Backlash is made, it would give WWE additional runway to develop the feud between the former Damage CTRL partners. The angle has been slowly building since the group broke up, with Asuka, SKY, and Kairi Sane all involved at various points.

WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Backlash 2026 is scheduled for May 9.
