  • Charlotte Flair To Have Knee Surgery Over The Holidays, Set To Be Out 9 Months

Don\’t expect to see Charlotte Flair back in action until the latter part of 2024.

\’The Queen\’ has been sidelined with an injury that is likely to keep her away from major WWE premium live events next year. The multi-time WWE Women\’s Champion recently concerned the fans when her match with Asuka abruptly ended last Friday on SmackDown. Flair endured a defeat to Asuka after Bayley interfered.

Following the match, several photos and video clips capturing the moment spread like a fire on social media. The videos saw medical staff attending the former Women\’s Champion.

It was later reported that Flair\’s injury was legitimate and quite serious. \’The Queen\’ was also pulled from WWE live events. During last night\’s episode of WWE SmackDown, it was announced that Charlotte Flair will be out of action for nine months following the knee injury. PWInsider is reporting that Flair will undergo surgery over the holidays.

Charlotte Flair could miss WrestleMania 40 & SummerSlam next year

There was a talk at Raw on Monday among the talents that Flair might have suffered a torn ACL. However, it wasn\’t confirmed at the time.

Usually, a nine-month absence is seen for ACL tear, which usually requires at least six months\’ recovery. It is to be seen if she is out for nine months because that means Flair would return around September next year. This indicates that she would miss both WrestleMania 40 and SummerSlam.

Charlotte Flair had started 2023 as WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion. She dropped the title to The Judgment Day\’s Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39. \’The Queen\’ went after IYO SKY for the WWE Women\’s Championship but that led her to compete in her first-ever  WarGames match last month against Damage CTRL.

We at SEScoops wish Charlotte Flair a swift and speedy recovery.

  • CM Punk Continues Doing MMA Commentary Following Return to WWE

WWE superstar CM Punk once again made his comeback to Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) and carried out his duties as a commentator.

CM Punk recently returned to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames PLE last month and it is one of the most shocking returns of the company. The pro wrestling fraternity was stunned by his comeback as many had ruled out his return to the company.

Punk had been making appearances for CFFC during his first suspension from AEW in late 2022, Ahead of his return to WWE, Punk had also returned to Cage Fury Fighting Championships as a commentator during which he teased the fans about his pro wrestling future which ultimately led to him signing with WWE.

    CM Punk appears in CFFC

This weekend during SmackDown, Punk was part of the CFFC commentary booth yet again. WWE usually doesn\’t allow any superstar to appear in other promotions but in the case of Punk, it seems that the company has allowed him to continue giving voice to the MMA action.

His commentary partner John Morgan also mentioned Seth Rollins during the action.

\”This Seth Rollins guy, I don\’t know about him,\” John Morgan said.

During the commentary, Punk  also spoke about his upcoming WWE live event match against The Judgment Day\’s Dominik Mysterio. He said:

\”Come out to the LA Kia Forum. Watch me beat up Dirty Dominik. I\’ve been wanting to punch this kid in the face since he was 8 years old. Now he\’s legal and I\’m gonna destroy him.\”

It\’s worth noting that Punk and Rollins have ignited a feud since the former\’s massive return. Fans were delighted to witness \’The Best In The World\’ return to Chicago except for Seth Rollins. \’The Visionary\’ was furious to see Punk and in a video footage, Rollins was even spotted flipping off Punk and had to be held back

Rollins and Punk recently came face to face and had an in-ring promo segment. \’The Best In The World\’ also announced that he\’s entering the Royal Rumble match next year and might come after Seth\’s World Heavyweight title.

WWE star Liv Morgan could be facing some legal consequences after she grabbed the headlines for possession of marijuana.

On Thursday, the popular WWE star was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Morgan, has been on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury and she has found herself in hot waters.

Morgan was arrested on December 14th in Sumter County, Florida, following a traffic stop. Morgan, who is a former SmackDown Women\’s Champion was picked up for a marijuana possession charge, not exceeding 20 grams.

Morgan also faced charges for possession of drug equipment and potential possession of synthetic cannabinoids.

It has come to light that a sheriff\’s deputy spotted the yellow jeep she was driving while crossing over the delineation lines of a County Road. Per the arrest report, when approached by a Sumter County Deputy, Morgan\’s vehicle emitted \”the odor of marijuana.\”

    Legal ramifications for Liv Morgan

Conviction of possession can also lead to a six-month driving license suspension, random drug testing, and all the reimbursement of all fees related to the sentence.

We will now have to wait and see how WWE deals with this situation when she returns to on-screen programming.

  • AJ Styles returns on Smackdown looking jacked – and he\’s back as a heel

AJ Styles has returned to WWE SmackDown but has embraced his darker side.

\’The Phenomenal One\’ has been sidelined since the September 22, 2023, episode of SmackDown. During that show it was announced that Styles would be John Cena\’s tag-team partner for the Fastlane tag-team match against Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa. However, later on that night, Styles was brutally attacked by Uso and Sikoa. It was LA Knight who went on to replace the former WWE Champion and teamed up with Cena to defeat The Bloodline at Fastlane.

Reports recently suggested that Styles was supposed to return a few weeks ago but that didn\’t happen. It was on last night\’s edition of SmackDown that \’The Phenomenal One\’ returned.

On Friday, the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns made his first WWE appearance since Crown Jewel on SmackDown. He said that it\’s \’promotion season\’ and announced that Solo Sikoa is the deserving heir to his title of Tribal Chief of The Bloodline.

Randy Orton then interrupted him and challenged Reigns to a title match at next month\’s Royal Rumble. However, \’The Tribal Chief\’ refused to accept the challenge. It was then announced that \’The Viper\’ will battle Jimmy Uso in the main event of SmackDown.

Orton defeated Uso with the help of LA Knight, who evened the odds when Solo Sikoa came down to the ring. Reigns ultimately took a cheap shot at LA Knight from behind and The Bloodline continued the attack on them.

    AJ Styles returns

\’The Phenomenal One\’ made a huge comeback and he was already in the ring waiting to hit Reigns with a Phenomenal Forearm. He executed it and took down \’The Head of The Table.\’ However, the returning superstar shocked the fans with his actions when he assaulted LA Knight from behind. He had a staredown with Orton before leaving the ring.

As it seems, LA Knight and AJ Styles are likely to have a feud soon.

  • R-Truth \’Hangs Out\’ With Dominik Mysterio & Rhea Ripley In Hilarious Video

R-Truth recently decided to have some fun with The Judgment Day members, Dominik Mysterio and Rhea Ripley. Unfortunately, that isn\’t possible. But, Truth has his own way of spending time with the \’family.\’

As the Holidays have come around, WWE Women\’s World Champion Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio decided to make a trip to Perth, Australia, the host of next year\’s Elimination Chamber. \’Dirty Dom\’ and \’Mami\’ are having quite a vacation in the latter\’s homeland. But as it seems, R Truth wanted to be a part of the trip.

WWE recently released a video clip of Ripley and Dominik enjoying their time in Perth. R Truth noted the video clip and took to his TikTok channel. He dropped a hilariously edited video clip in which he added himself to the video to indicate that he was hanging out with the couple.

R-Truth wants to be in The Judgment Day

The Judgment Day is currently one of the most dominant factions in WWE. It includes Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor and Damian Priest. Several superstars have fallen prey to the ruthless attack of the group. The sinister group had been trying to recruit a member over the last few months. In the past, they went after Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre to be a part of the faction. Though \’The Scottish Warrior\’ joined forces, he never became an official member of the group.

JD McDonagh ended up becoming the newest member and ever since, the faction has become formidable. However, it seems R-Truth want to be a part of the group as well.

Over the last few weeks, R-Truth has been invading their clubhouse and claimed to be a member of the faction. Though he received warnings, Truth is having none of it.

On the latest edition of Monday Night Raw, R-Truth interrupted The Judgment Day and suggested JD McDonagh to be kicked out. He further opined that Damian Priest shouldn\’t try to be the boss around as Rhea Ripley would be angry. This led to R-Truth getting attacked but The Creed Brothers saved him.

  • Adam Copeland Reveals How Wrestling Helped His Role in Percy Jackson Series

AEW star Adam Copeland (formerly Edge in WWE) has credited pro wrestling in shaping up his role as Ares in Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

After he was forced to hang up his boots in 2011, Adam Copeland explored different avenues in life and tried his luck pursuing an acting career. The current AEW star has bagged roles in a handful of television shows and films over the years. He played a major part in the popular series Haven. In the new Percy Jackson series, Adam Copeland will portray Ares, the God of War.

The show is based on the the first story, \’The Lightning Thief\’, in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series by Rick Riordan.

The story revolves around the titular demigod, who is trying to recover Zeus\’s stolen master bolt. The quest puts Percy Jackson amid the powerful beings, including a couple of Greek gods, Hades and Ares, who have a strong dislike towards him.

Adam Copeland reflects on his role

Ahead of the show’s release, Adam Copeland was at the red carpet. Speaking with The Koalition Entertainment, Adam Copeland outlined how wrestling helped him in portraying the role of Ares in Percy Jackson and the Olympians. He drew similarities between the character of Ares and pro wrestling. Here is what the veteran star said:

\”Aries is a little bit of wrestling and that helped, you know, because you\’re playing with God. So you have to be larger than life. You have to be big. And that\’s exactly what wrestling is. You have to amplify things to possibly 80,000 people away. So it has to be big. Everything has to be big. And Aries is big. So it came in handy to kind of dip into my wrestling playbook for it.\”

At the red carpet, The Rated R Superstar looked stunning as he donned a red suit as well as a red fedora with a feather.

The first episode of Disney+\’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians will also be streaming on Hulu from December 20 till January 31st.

  • Chris Jericho Says \’The Iron Claw\’ Will Be \”Really Interesting\”

AEW star Chris Jericho hasn\’t watched \’The Iron Claw\’ yet but that doesn\’t keep him away from shedding praise on the movie.

\’The Iron Claw\’ captures the lives and tragedies of the famous Von Erich wrestling family. The wrestling lineage began with Fritz Von Erich (real name Jack Adkisson,) and his sons would taste success in the squared circle. The Von Erichs are still active in wrestling at present with Marshall & Ross Von Erich competing to this day.

    Chris Jericho comments

While speaking to Dallas News, he said that from what he\’s heard, the movie has done a good job and reckoned that it will interesting to watch the Von Erich movie. Here is what he said:

“I haven’t seen the movie yet. I think it’s going to be really interesting. I think a lot of times Hollywood does a terrible job of making wrestling movies. They one exception, of course, is The Wrestler with Mickey Rourke. I think this one, from what I’ve heard, it’s done a good job of that as well.

He further spoke about never meeting a member of Von Erich and he\’s quite excited that the family will be attending AEW Dynamite. He added:

“I’ve never met a Von Erich. I know the story as much as anybody else does, just from reading about it. So, I’m excited to kind of see that interpretation. … And I’m actually excited because the Von Erichs are going to be at Dynamite, and that’ll be the first time I’ve ever met a Von Erich ever, in any way, shape or form. So, you know, that’s pro wrestling royalty and such an uplifting story in a lot of ways, such a tragedy in other ways. So it’ll be cool to kind of get a chance to say hi to Kevin and pay respect.”

Meanwhile, Chris Jericho\’s former rival and current AEW World Champion MJF had a role in The Iron Claw but his role was originally much bigger than what made the final cut. \’The Salt of The Earth\’ also made his presence felt at \’The Iron Claw\’ Premiere in Los Angeles.

    He added:

\”Didn\’t have to do much. Just put on a fish tail and a blonde wig and let all the talented folks do the rest. It\’s great to see, not only the film be so successful amongst the consumers out there, but certainly with the critics as well.

This one is going to pick up where Part 2 left off, in the insane asylum, so, you’re going to see what transpires there, what mayhem unfolds, because seeing how Art and Victoria ended up, is so insane, and seeing how they get out of that situation and what happens next is going to be really wild. • Jon Moxley Outlines How Fatherhood Changed His Life

AEW star Jon Moxley is a proud father and recently stated that fatherhood changed his outlook on his life.

Renee Paquette and Jon Moxley are the proud parents of baby girl, Nora. Among the most beloved couples in pro wrestling are Mox and Paquette. Back in the day, Jon worked as a wrestler in WWE, while Renee was a host, interviewer, and commentator for the promotion.

This is how the two initially got together and on April 9, 2017, the pair finally tied the knot in a private ceremony held at their residence. It was said to be an unplanned wedding.

Paquette and Moxley would welcome their first child, Nora on June 15, 2021.

It is needless to mention that a person\’s life might drastically alter for good after having a baby. After becoming parents, they would want to set an example for their kids and that\’s how being a father, Jon Moxley\’s outlook towards life changed.

    Jon Moxley talks about fatherhood

    Speaking with
Bleacher Report, Moxley said that having a daughter with Renee Paquette gave him a greater appreciation for both life and pro wrestling. The former AEW World Champion is trying to set an example for her daughter in everything that he\’s currently doing. Mox said:

\”By the time I had a kid, I was already a veteran of this. I was already paying the price physically for a lot of the s–t I did in my younger years. I was already at the stage where I was telling younger kids \’You might not have to do that move every single night because you\’re going to pay for it in 10 years.\’ I already became the kind of guy who was aware of my own mortality by the time I had a child, so it really didn\’t change anything. If anything, it made me appreciate it more and want to do a better job.

\”Now everything I\’m doing, I\’m setting an example. I have a lot of young people that I coach and people that I work with, and I got young kids in Cincinnati I teach wrestling to. I\’ve got a lot of people that are looking at me, so if I go out there and don\’t work hard or take anything for granted or don\’t take the kind of advice I would give to my daughter, if whatever I would tell her doesn\’t match up with what I did, there would be a problem there.

\”If anything [fatherhood] just made me appreciate life more and made me want to do this for as long as I can. I don\’t know if she will ever get to watch me do it live and in person. She\’s two and a half. When I look at some of my main rivals like Chris Jericho and Minoru Suzuki, they\’re still going hard and still at the top of their game, so I think I\’ve got a lot of years left. I don\’t plan on ever retiring. At some point, I will just get too old to do it.\”

Jon Moxley is currently competing in the AEW Continental Classic where he has bagged 9 points and is aiming to win the tournament. You can check out below what he thinks of the brand-new tournament:

  • Andrade Returning to CMLL for First Time Since 2015

AEW star Andrade El Idolo heading back to CMLL for the first time in years.

Idolo is currently signed to AEW but as it seems, he\’s decided to head back to CMLL. The Mexican superstar has not made an appearance in CMLL since 2015. Back in the day, he performed under the name La Sombra.

Ahead of signing with WWE, he endured a defeat in a Mask vs. Mask match against Atlantis at CMLL’s 82nd Anniversary show. He is a former IWGP Intercontinental Champion which he won during his run with the company as part of an agreement between CMLL and New Japan Pro Wrestling back in the day.

    Andrade is returning to CMLL

On CMLL’s show at Arena Mexico on Friday, a vignette aired that featured Andrade El Idolo. He announced that he is coming home to CMLL, and will make his comeback next Friday night, December 15.

Notably, it was only last week that CMLL teased a star would be returning soon and this led to tons of speculation that Idolo might be making a return. Now we know he is indeed returning.

Andrade himself sent out a Tweet and confirmed his appearance. Check it out below:

Andrade El Idolo is currently embroiled in a storyline with CJ Perry and Miro on AEW Collision. The development in the relationship of Perry and Miro has grabbed the attention of the fans. It would be quite interesting to see how it pans out with Andrade being in the mix.

  • JD McDonagh Reflects On The Jaw-dropping RKO Spot At WarGames

The Judgment Day member JD McDonagh recently recalled being on the wrong end of things as Randy Orton RKO\’d off the top of the cage at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2023.

RKO remains to be one of the most effective and ever-popular finishers in WWE. Orton refers to it as the three most destructive letters and indeed it has won him several titles during his illustrious career.

Over the years he has hit some picture-perfect RKOs on his opponents. Recently, JD McDonagh got the taste of it when Orton hit the RKO \’outta nowhere.\’

Randy Orton was recently involved in the Men\’s WarGames match at Survivor Series at the Allstate Arena in Chicago. \’The Apex Predator\’ returned from injury at the event and guided his team comprising Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn to a win over The Judgment Day and Drew McIntyre.

\’The Viper\’ showed up when it was nearing the end of the epic clash. However, he made a huge impact and soon changed the complexion of the match. During the match, Rollins and Zayn launched McDonagh off the top of the steel cage. In a breathtaking moment, Randy Orton hit The Judgment Day member with a spectacular RKO.

While speaking with Alex McCarthy of Daily Mail, McDonagh shared his thoughts on the high-risk spot during the WarGames Match. He said that he had other ideas in mind instead of the RKO spot. However, he did want to create the \’moment of the match.\’

\”I knew I was going to be involved in the moment of the match, I was going to make something happen. I am that kind of person. So I came out on the wrong side of it, you know, ideally, I think I would have liked to moon sault off the top and wipe out everybody and stand in the middle, triumphant, but the Viper got me. He\’s quick, you know, he is quick, he is quick.\”

On this week\’s edition of Monday Night Raw, JD McDonagh teamed up with Judgment Day stablemate Dominik Mysterio and faced The Creed Brothers in a losing effort.

  • Seth Rollins Explains His Beef With CM Punk

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins recently decided to spill the tea on his growing frustration with CM Punk.

CM Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series: WarGames PLE and it sent shockwaves through the industry. The pro wrestling fraternity was left stunned and saw some wonderful reactions to his comeback as many had ruled out his return to the company.

Fans were ecstatic to witness \’The Best In The World\’ return to Chicago except for Seth Rollins. \’The Visionary\’ was livid to see Punk and in a fan-recorded footage, Rollins was even spotted flipping off Punk and had to be held back

Soon, the fans speculated the reason behind Seth\’s outrage towards \’The Second City Savior.\’

Speaking with Sports Illustrated Media, Seth Rollins explained the reason behind his reaction at the show.

\’The Visionary\’ claimed that Punk badmouthed him for years and made some harsh remarks that did not sit well with Rollins. He further said that he felt insulted by the way Punk treated him. Here is what he said:

\”He (CM Punk) said some really bad things about me. Talked down about me for years, and the company (WWE), for years. I\’m talking some really bad stuff. Called me a bootlicker and crap like that.
You don\’t know me. You don\’t know what I stand for. I\’m a loyal person, and I felt pretty insulted by a lot of the ways he treated me, treated the place I work for, treated friends that I worked with.
I don\’t need to get into any of the stuff with Colt Cabana if you want to look at that kind of stuff, that\’s out there”

This week, Punk will appear on the Tribute to the Troops edition of WWE Smackdown. He will then appear on next week\’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw and will receive a contract from Raw General Manager, Adam Pearce. This will put an end to his current free-agent status and officially join the red brand.

It will interesting to see the development of the feud between Rollins and Punk.

As it stands, it\’s just the beginning of their feud. If recent reports are to be believed, Punk could be in line for a feud with the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns as well.

  • Braun Strowman Commends Bray Wyatt for Mastering the Art of Mic Work

Braun Strowman has nothing but praise for the late WWE superstar Bray Wyatt.

Bray Wyatt (Windham Rotunda) passed away at the age of 36. His premature demise sent shockwaves through the pro wrestling fraternity. An episode of SmackDown also featured tributes to Wyatt, including a ten-bell salute.

Wyatt was considered one of the most creative minds in pro wrestling and had unparalleled mic skills. Over the years his gimmicks evolved. \’The Eater of Worlds\’ introduced the Firefly Funhouse in 2019 when he portrayed a character similar to Mr. Rogers and presented himself as a children\’s television presenter. However, the character had a dark secret, later revealed as The Fiend.

\’The Monster of All Monsters\’ was part of the Wyatt Family led by Bray Wyatt back in the day. Later on they went on to have epic battles as rivals as well.

Speaking to Bill Apter for Sportskeeda, Braun Strowman stated why he believes Bray was one of the best on the mic. Here is what he said:

\”Bray Wyatt was, in my opinion, the epitome of talking on a microphone with his character work, being able to go in and out of all these multiple characters, see his facial expressions change, hear his voice change.

I don’t know anyone who’s done it, other than Paul Heyman, who’s just been timeless with what he does as a manager and stuff like that. But he still doesn’t have the range and abilities to go through these multiple different characters that Bray had inside of his head. So in my opinion, it’s Bray Wyatt.

Strowman has been on the shelf since the Summer after undergoing neck fusion surgery. He is hoping to return at next year\’s Royal Rumble match. You can check out his comments below:

Kazuchika Okada will soon make his first appearance for TNA Wrestling since 2011.

Impact Wrestling will become TNA Wrestling once again next month. Various aspects of the company are already reverting to the TNA branding and the first pay-per-view of the new era is TNA Hard To Kill on Saturday, January 13 from The Palms in Las Vegas.

The following night, TNA is running another show from the same venue, Snake Eyes. Impact/TNA recently announced the blockbuster news that NJPW/AEW star Will Ospreay will get his wish and wrestle in a TNA ring at Snake Eyes.  It turns out, Ospreay won\’t be coming alone.

    Okada in TNA

Okada wrestled for TNA a few times in 2010 and 2011. Associating with Samoa Joe, he played a character named Okato, who was similar to Green Hornet\’s sidekick Kato. Years later, Okada shared strong negative feelings about the experience. The connection between NJPW and IMPACT was harmed by this role.  However, neither company, nor Okada himself, are the same as they were over a decade ago.

Okada currently holds one-third of the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championships with Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tomohiro Ishii. This marks his first time he has held the title.

Okada will be a free agent at the end of January and recent reports suggest that a new deal with NJPW \”would typically be underway\”, but the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion is \”seriously entertaining the possibility of wrestling for a different promotion.\”

“I think it’s a great idea,” Angle said. “You have to remember, Brock is near the end of his career, and Omos is near the beginning of his career. Brock’s always been these main event matches with all the top guys. I think now he’s at the point of his career where he has to start giving back and not being at the top level matches for world championships, but trying to build other talent. I think this is a great idea.”
