  • Steve Austin Teases Return Of Broken Skull Sessions

WWE Hall of Famer \”Stone Cold\” Steve Austin has hinted at a potential return of his WWE series, Broken Skull Sessions. The wrestling legend has sparked speculation after a recent social media interaction with a fan.

Austin officially retired from in-ring competition in 2003 following his match against The Rock at WrestleMania XIX, citing an accumulation of injuries. Despite his retirement, \”The Texas Rattlesnake\” has remained a fixture in WWE, making sporadic appearances over the years.

One of his post-retirement ventures was the \”Broken Skull Sessions\” podcast on the WWE Network. The popular interview series, which ran from 2019 to 2022, suddenly stopped producing new episodes, leaving fans to wonder about its status.

Recently, on his Instagram account, a fan asked Austin if a new episode of the podcast was coming soon. In response, Austin reportedly told the fan to give him a \”couple of weeks,\” immediately fueling rumors that the \”Broken Skull Sessions\” is set to make a comeback.

While the return of his podcast is an exciting prospect for fans, there is also continued speculation about another in-ring return. After 19 years of retirement, Austin competed in a No Holds Barred match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38, proving he can still perform at a high level.

Since that acclaimed return, Austin has teased that he may not be done with professional wrestling. Reports have also indicated that there is significant interest from Saudi Arabia in having Austin compete at a future event in the country, with the government reportedly willing to offer a substantial payday for legends.

  • Jacob Fatu Sidelined With Major Injury

Jacob Fatu, who returned to WWE television on the September 26 episode of SmackDown, is reportedly dealing with a significant injury that could keep him out of action for an extended period. A new report from BodySlam.net indicates that Fatu has suffered a non-wrestling-related injury.

According to sources cited in the report, the issue is serious enough to potentially sideline the \”Samoan Werewolf\” \”well into 2026.\” This development provides context to earlier speculation, including a cryptic tweet from CodyWhodes of BodySlam, who posted a GIF of Fatu with the message, “The bug strikes another.”

Fatu was recently in a feud with Drew McIntyre, which included a brawl on the October 10 episode of SmackDown. A match between the two was being promoted for the October 17 edition of the show, but sources now say Fatu’s injury has forced WWE to change its plans quietly. WWE has not made a formal comment on the situation.

The injury is a setback for Fatu, whose return was met with anticipation from fans. His connection to the Anoa\’i family and his unique presence positioned him as a key figure in future WWE storylines. It remains to be seen how this lengthy absence will affect his momentum upon his eventual return.

  • WWE Releases Another Star From ID Contract

Another name has been added to the list of recent departures from WWE\’s developmental system. WWE ID talent Bryce Donovan announced that he is no longer with the company. This follows a number of recent releases of NXT wrestlers and other developmental talents.

Donovan had been a regular feature on WWE Evolve as a member of the faction known as the Vanity Project. His final storyline saw him turn on his stablemates to set up a match against Evolve Champion Jackson Drake. The match, which aired Wednesday night, saw Drake retain his championship.

Following the match, Bryce Donovan announced his exit on social media. \”Finale. I will no longer be with WWE ID or Evolve Thanks for the good time everyone,\” he wrote. \”Learned a lot especially from @TheRealXPac who’s the best coach anyone could ask for I’ll let you know what’s happening next when I decide or maybe I won’t idk yet.\”

Donovan\’s departure comes shortly after that of another Vanity Project member, Zayda Steel, who was also released from her WWE ID contract. A new group of ID signees is expected to debut on Evolve soon.

  • Chelsea Green Reveals Why She Put Her Family Plans \’On Pause\’ For WWE

Since returning to WWE in January 2023, Chelsea Green has become a staple of the women\’s division, holding the Women\’s Tag Team Championship and becoming the inaugural Women\’s US Champion. In a recent interview, she discussed how that return affected her and her husband Matt Cardona\’s plans to start a family.

Speaking with Woman’s World, Green revealed that they put their family plans on pause when she received the offer to come back to WWE. She explained that they both want to have children.

\”We put it on pause when I was asked to come back to WWE. This was an opportunity we both knew we could not turn down. If I turn it down, I’m going to end up having kids and resent the family life,\” Green stated.

She elaborated on their current situation and her desire to become a mother, while also being focused on her career.

\”So here I am. I’m 34. I’m dying for babies. My husband wants babies… but duty calls. I’m making money. I’m living my dream. But hey, you never know. In a couple months, if it happens, God willing, it happens. I’ll just have to take my babies on the road with me!\”

The discussion comes as Matt Cardona also made his recent WWE in-ring return, competing on the October 14 episode of NXT in a match against Josh Briggs.

  • Jacy Jayne Avoids Serious Injury, WWE NXT Star Sidelined

NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne appears to have avoided a serious injury after a scare at an NXT live event on October 9, where she suffered an apparent leg injury and required assistance to get backstage. However, while Jayne is reportedly fine, her Fatal Influence stablemate Fallon Henley may now be sidelined.

According to a report from Bryan Alvarez, the situation has shifted. \”So the update on Jacy Jayne is apparently she’s fine,\” Alvarez noted. \”However Fallon is now injured. They did an assisted Sol Snatcher spot on a house show and it got botched and Sol landed right on Fallon’s head. Hopefully she’s OK and back in action soon, but was told it looked really bad.\”

Meanwhile, Jayne’s next challenger has been determined. This past Tuesday’s pre-taped episode of NXT featured a number one contender’s battle royal, which was won by Tatum Paxley. Paxley will now challenge Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship at Halloween Havoc. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, at the Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona.

The Fatal Influence faction has also seen a recent change in its lineup. Following the departure of Jazmyn Nyx from WWE, Lainey Reid was added to the group this week, joining Jayne and the currently injured Henley.

  • WWE Legal Action Believed To Be Behind Andrade\’s AEW Absence

Following Andrade El Idolo\’s return to AEW earlier this month, his sudden disappearance from television has been a topic of speculation. A new report suggests his absence may be due to a non-compete clause with WWE. On the October 16 edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that the belief is WWE intervened.

\”What I’ve been hearing was WWE sent a letter. AEW obviously believed that there was no non-compete,\” Meltzer said. \”There were people who talked to people in WWE who also believed there was no non-compete. But WWE apparently… that’s the story. They said that he can’t do (anything in AEW) for 90 days.\”

This information aligns with a previous report from Fightful Select, which noted that sources close to Andrade said he was in \”good spirits\” but did not explain his absence. The report also mentioned that the situation was not seen as \”AEW or Andrade’s specific fault.\”

The assumption was that Andrade was free of any restrictions due to the circumstances of his WWE release. However, this new development indicates WWE believes he is still within the standard 90-day non-compete window for main roster talent. Andrade\’s future in AEW appears to be on a temporary hold, not because of creative decisions or injury, but due to a potential legal complication with his former employer. AEW has not commented on the matter publicly.

  • Taz Undergoes Successful Shoulder Surgery

AEW announcer Taz has undergone successful shoulder surgery. The update was provided by his broadcast colleague Excalibur during the October 15 episode of AEW Dynamite. Taz, a former ECW World Heavyweight Champion, has been a staple of the Dynamite commentary team alongside Excalibur and Tony Schiavone, and his absence was noticed by viewers. The announcement confirmed that the procedure went as planned and that the popular announcer is now on the road to recovery.

The news of the surgery first came to light on October 8, when Taz himself informed his followers on social media about the impending procedure. He detailed the nature of the surgery and prepared fans for his upcoming absence from AEW programming. In his post, Taz stated, “I will be having total shoulder replacement surgery in a short time. Therefore I will be off AEW Dynamite for some time. See you soon.”

This recent shoulder replacement is not the first significant surgery the wrestling veteran has had to endure in recent years, highlighting the physical toll his in-ring career took on his body. In 2024, Taz underwent a total knee replacement, another operation to address long-standing injuries.

His career in promotions like ECW and WWE was known for its high-impact, suplex-heavy style, which contributed to the wear and tear that has caused these procedures later in life. At this time, it is unknown how long Taz will be sidelined from his duties as an announcer.

  • CM Punk Takes Out Dominik Mysterio With Rhea Ripley’s Finisher At WWE Event

Following a televised episode of Monday Night RAW in Australia, WWE held a non-televised live event for the fans in Melbourne. The show featured an Intercontinental Championship match where the titleholder, Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day, defended his gold against CM Punk. The contest was part of WWE\’s tour that also included SmackDown and the Crown Jewel Premium Live Event.

The championship match ended in a disqualification when Dominik Mysterio’s stablemates, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, interfered to save his title. The odds were soon evened as Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky made their way to the ring to support CM Punk. The two babyfaces quickly neutralized Rodriguez and Perez, leaving \”Dirty\” Dom alone to face the consequences.

The post-match action saw Ripley shove Mysterio, causing him to stumble and trip over Iyo Sky. This allowed CM Punk to recover and hit Mysterio with his signature GTS (Go to Sleep) finishing maneuver. However, the humiliation for the Intercontinental Champion was not over, as Punk had more planned for the Melbourne audience.

CM Punk lifted Mysterio and executed Rhea Ripley’s own finishing move, the Riptide. To add to the embarrassment, Punk then pinned Mysterio using Ripley\’s signature \”pretzel pin.\” Punk then motioned for Ripley to make the count, and she obliged, counting to three as the fans cheered for the babyfaces celebrating in the ring.

  • AEW Star Thought Company’s Offer Was A Rib

AEW World Trios Champion Powerhouse Hobbs recently looked back on the uncertain and frightening period in his life that led to him signing with All Elite Wrestling in 2020. Before becoming a multi-time champion in AEW, Hobbs was facing unemployment during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and was struggling to find work to support his family, which included a newborn daughter.

During a new interview with 96.5 The Fan, Hobbs was candid about his initial disbelief when he was first contacted by AEW.

“Frightening, because I just got laid off from my job. My daughter was, shoot, a couple months old. So it was like I couldn’t get hired anywhere. I applied at fast food spots. They were like, ‘nah.’

You know, it was bad, because I was overqualified from what I was told. But man, I got a call and QT Marshall actually texted me and I didn’t respond back for like three, four hours. So I thought somebody was ribbing me and I had a text from Cody Rhodes. Then I was just like, I gotta bet on myself at this point.

So, the story is already out there, man, it took off. I had a debut match against Orange Cassidy, then my second match was a six man against the Dark Order, and then week after week, I started showing up on Dark and Tony (Khan) gave me that okay, gave me that head nod, that opportunity, which we all want in wrestling. You want that opportunity to prove yourself, and he saw something in me and the rest is history. TNT champ, one third of the Trios Tag Team Champions. Can’t complain, man.”

He is currently one-third of the reigning AEW World Trios Champions alongside his partners in The Opps, Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata.

In a new interview, Bliss reflected on the creative process and what she learned from the visionary performer. Speaking with \”In The Kliq,\” Bliss praised Wyatt\’s incredible creativity and the depth he brought to his characters.

“I always say it was the most fun I’ve ever had in my career, because it was such a fun challenge. When I first joined with Bray, I remember thinking, ‘I don’t wanna be the one to mess this up.’ Because he had such a cool thing going with the Firefly Fun House and the Wyatt Family and the whole thing. So for me, I was stepping into his world and I wasn’t gonna be the one to bring it down.
I remember when I first started working with him, he gave me this whole – because he does deep dives on his characters, deep, deep dives, all this research – he was like, ‘Watch these documentaries, watch these scary movies, watch this, take notes on this.’ And it really made me appreciate the fact that it wasn’t just doing research on your character – he created a whole world for his character. And that was something that I took with me, you have to know your character inside and out… and that was something that really opened my eyes character-wise.
He was a creative genius, and he saw the world of WWE in a different way than anybody else ever has, and he created this whole alternate universe within the WWE universe. And that was something that I found so fascinating, his creativity… It was so cool to not only witness but be a part of.\”

Bliss also sharedher happiness that Wyatt\’s vision is being kept alive through the new Wyatt Sicks faction and other projects.

\”And the fact that we’re continuing his story with the Wyatt Sicks and we have the Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks House at the Universals, I think it’s so cool. I just love that the WWE as a whole is keeping his vision alive and keeping him alive. I think that he would be super happy with everything that we’re doing to keep it going.”

  • Seth Rollins Pulled From WWE Live Events In Japan

Following a suspected shoulder injury and a dramatic storyline write-off on Monday Night Raw, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has been officially removed from the company\’s upcoming SuperShow live events in Japan this weekend. According to the updated ticket listings for the shows, Rollins is no longer advertised for the events on Friday, October 17, and Saturday, October 18, at the Ryogoku Sumo Hall in Tokyo.

Rollins was originally scheduled for two major matches on the tour. He was set to face CM Punk in a singles match on the first night, and then team with his former Vision stablemates, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, to face Punk, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Jey Uso in a six-man tag team match on the second night. The lineups for the shows have now been updated, with CM Punk scheduled to face Dominik Mysterio on October 17, and a tag team match pitting Punk and Nakamura against Breakker and Reed now set for October 18.

The injury is believed to have occurred during Rollins\’s main event match against Cody Rhodes at the WWE Crown Jewel Premium Live Event this past Saturday. Rollins was written off of television at the conclusion of this week\’s Monday Night Raw in a shocking angle that saw The Vision faction implode, with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed brutally attacking him and aligning with Paul Heyman.

Rollins is reportedly set to be evaluated in Birmingham, Alabama, to determine the severity of the injury and if surgery will be required.

The planned date and location for the WWE Elimination Chamber 2026 Premium Live Event have reportedly been revealed. According to a new report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, which has since been confirmed by Wrestlenomics, the event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in the city of Chicago, Illinois.

It marks the return of the event to the United States for the first time in five years. The Chicago event will break a recent trend of the Elimination Chamber being a major international spectacle.

The last four editions of the show have all been held outside of the US, with Toronto hosting the event in 2025, Perth, Australia in 2024, Montreal, Canada in 2023, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 2022. The last time the event was held in the United States was in 2021 in St. Petersburg, Florida, during the ThunderDome era.

The February 28 date places the show in its traditional spot on the \”Road to WrestleMania,\” taking place exactly four weeks after the 2026 Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia and seven weeks before the two-night WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. While a specific venue has not yet been confirmed, major WWE events in the Chicago area are typically held at the Allstate Arena. An official announcement from WWE is expected in the coming months.

  • Released Superstar Reveals His Post-WWE Ring Name

Just days after his surprising release from WWE, former NXT North American Champion Wes Lee has revealed the name he will be using for the next chapter of his career. The high-flying star has updated his social media profiles, reverting to his pre-WWE ring name, Dezmond Xavier.

The move is the first step for the 30-year-old as he enters the free agent market. It is a name that is well-known to fans of the independent circuit and TNA Wrestling, where he first made a name for himself as part of the popular Rascalz faction.

Lee was released from his WWE contract on Friday, October 10, along with several other NXT talents. His departure was the most shocking of the group, as he was one of the most decorated and popular stars in the history of the brand. During his time in WWE, he was a two-time NXT Tag Team Champion as part of the team MSK and went on to have a lengthy and acclaimed reign as the NXT North American Champion. His last televised match was on the July 29 episode of NXT, where he lost to Je\’Von Evans.

Before signing with WWE in 2021, Lee competed as Dezmond Xavier, often shortened to Dez. His run in TNA Wrestling as a member of The Rascalz alongside Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz was successful. With his return to the Dezmond Xavier name, speculation has already begun about a potential reunion of the popular group.

  • Report: Seth Rollins May Need Shoulder Surgery

A new report from PWInsider indicates that there is legitimate concern within WWE that World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins may have suffered a shoulder injury that could require surgery. The injury is believed to have occurred this past Saturday during his main event Champion vs. Champion match against Cody Rhodes at the WWE Crown Jewel Premium Live Event in Australia.

Some within the company are reportedly taking a \”wait and see\” approach due to the elaborate fake knee injury angle that Rollins was a part of earlier this year, which has created a level of internal skepticism.

The injury is thought to have happened when Rollins landed awkwardly while performing a coast-to-coast dive on Rhodes. On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, both Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez stated their belief that the injury is legitimate. Meltzer also revealed the long-term creative plans that could be completely derailed if Rollins is forced to the sidelines.

“Seth Rollins was tentatively scheduled to wrestle Roman Reigns at WrestleMania,\” Meltzer stated. If Rollins does require surgery, it would not only likely force him to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship, but it would also scrap a potential WrestleMania main event

  • Moose Responds To Skeptics Of TNA\’s Record-Setting Bound For Glory Attendance

TNA Wrestling star Moose has taken to social media to push back against fans who have expressed skepticism about the company\’s new North American attendance record. Following the successful Bound For Glory pay-per-view this past Sunday, TNA announced that the event had set a new company record with an attendance of 7,794 fans.

The announcement was a major milestone for the promotion, but it was met with some online criticism from those who claimed that a large number of the tickets were given away for free. Moose, a former TNA World Champion, posted a passionate defense of TNA\’s achievement. In his post on X, Moose addressed the critics directly.

“For the people saying half of our record setting attendance record was free tickets given are brain dead and fail to realize in 2016/17 myself The Hardy’s Eddie Cody Rhodes Drew McIntyre Lashley wrestled at Universal in front of only 150 people were every single ticket were free because universal didn’t allow ticket sales.

I could understand 200/300 comped tickets for sponsors and media purposes and friends and family but 3k. No business will take an outstanding loss just to fill up an arena. if it was that easy every company would do it and we would have done it a decade ago when we struggling to get 500 people to attend a show. Just enjoy the growth and the win. we wouldn’t be in their position without you guys our true fans. THIS IS TNA. [heart emoji]”

The fallout from Bound for Glory will air this Thursday night on Impact.

During a recent interview with The Sportster, Moxley was asked if he would want Batman as a member of The Death Riders. He was definitive in his response.

“I wouldn’t have Batman, you know, because at a certain point, like, are you just not going to kill the Joker? It’s getting ridiculous. I’m a pragmatist. Come on. What are we doing here? I just can’t get with that.\”

He elaborated on his practical approach to dealing with a persistent and deadly threat like The Joker. \”One chance. By the third time, you’ve escaped Arkham and gone on a murdering spree. Would you just shoot him?”

The Death Riders faction includes Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Marina Shafir, PAC, and the recently added Daniel Garcia.

He elaborated on the qualities he admires in the former AEW World Champion, noting that Moxley\’s selfless attitude is something he personally relates to.

In a recent interview with STL Sports Central, former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe gave a candid assessment of his time with the company\’s top title. When asked if he felt his reign \”left a lot to be desired.\”

Joe stated that any time a wrestler is not holding the world title, it should be viewed as a personal failure and a source of motivation. “Oh, you\’d be absolutely correct,\” he said. \”Anytime that you are not the possessor of the AEW World Championship, you should be taking it personally.”

While acknowledging that his championship run did not reach the heights he had hoped for, Joe made it clear that he views the situation as unfinished business that he fully intends to resolve in the future. “So yes, 100% correct, it was not what we would hope it would be, but like all things in the future, this too can be amended,\” he stated.

Samoa Joe won the AEW World Championship from MJF at the Worlds End pay-per-view in December 2023. He held the title for 113 days before losing it to Swerve Strickland in a three-way match that also included \”Hangman\” Adam Page at the Dynasty event in April 2024.

  • Seth Rollins Reportedly Injured

The shocking implosion of The Vision faction on Monday Night Raw was reportedly a creative decision made as a result of a legitimate injury suffered by World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. According to a new report from PWInsider.com, the angle that saw Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed turn on their leader was executed to write Rollins off of television so he can recover from a shoulder injury.

According to the PWInsider report, the belief within WWE is that Rollins injured his left shoulder during his main event Champion vs. Champion match against Cody Rhodes at the WWE Crown Jewel Premium Live Event this past Saturday. The injury is thought to have occurred when he landed awkwardly while performing a coast-to-coast dive.

While there has been no official announcement from WWE on the nature or severity of the injury, Rollins was seen wearing a sling in a photo with a fan after the event. The on-screen angle to write him off television was a major one. The main event of the October 13th episode of Raw saw CM Punk win a match to become the number one contender for Rollins\’s championship.

The post-match celebration was cut short when Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, Rollins\’s own stablemates in The Vision, launched a assault on Rollins, with the show going off the air as Paul Heyman appeared to align himself with the two stars.

He lauded the match as a \”masterclass in storytelling\” and praised the two legendary teams for their ability to captivate an audience.

“Everything about that match just felt good. Watching the promo video for the match building up, they did an incredible job with that. It gives you a little bit of the chill bumps, gets you excited,” he said.

He specifically highlighted the conclusion of the match. “The moment standing in front of the table, and The Hardys with the chairs, and they drop the chairs, and they\’re like, ‘We\’ll give you a soldier\’s death,’ almost. He accepted his fate. That gives you the feels,\” he explained. \”And then to finish it and taking the boots off and handing it to them… to give someone your boots is such a massive sign of respect.”

Dyer noted the emotion of the match with other performers who may try to force a reaction, suggesting that some wrestlers need to be more self-aware. “Last night was a masterclass in storytelling, in emotion, in in-ring work, and in captivating the fans,\” he stated. \”I think people need to understand sometimes that you may not be as over as you think you are… The Hardys and The Dudleys, they taught a masterclass.”

Billed as \”The Final Table,\” the historic last-ever tables match between The Hardy Boyz and Team 3D took place at TNA\’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view on October 12, 2025. The match saw The Hardys retain the TNA and NXT World Tag Team Championships.

  • Ronda Rousey: \”I Don\’t Sit Around Thinking About My Legacy\”

Ronda Rousey, a trailblazer who reached the pinnacle of both mixed martial arts and professional wrestling, has revealed that she does not spend time reflecting on her own incredible legacy. The former UFC and WWE Champion, who is one of the most recognizable combat sports athletes in history, explained that her focus has completely shifted to her family life and that her days as the \”Baddest Woman on the Planet\” feel like a distant memory.

During a recent interview with Evan Mack at New York City Comic Con, Rousey was asked if she ever thinks about her legacy in the world of combat sports.

“I mean, most of my days are just revolved around Miss Rachel right now. I don’t sit around thinking about my legacy. I have accomplished so much. I’m like, ‘don’t eat that. Oh, come inside. Where’s Paul?’ So I’m deep in the trenches of momming really hard. And what I don’t have is time for reflection. So sometimes people will remind me of like, oh yeah, remember when you did that one thing a long time ago? I’m like, ‘oh my god, I did have an entire judo career. I forgot that I went to Luxembourg.’ So yeah, it’s kind of weird. I’m so removed from it. It’s like I forgot that I am/was famous.”

She was the inaugural UFC Women\’s Bantamweight Champion, a UFC Hall of Famer, and is widely credited with bringing women\’s mixed martial arts to the mainstream. She later transitioned to WWE, where she became both the Raw and SmackDown Women\’s Champion and won the Women\’s Royal Rumble match, solidifying her status as a top star in two different industries.

  • AEW Had Plans For Its Own Performance Center

A new report from a Fightful Select Q&A has provided an update on AEW\’s long-rumored plans for an official, dedicated training facility. According to the report, while plans for a company training center were introduced several years ago, they are currently \”on hold.\”

The delay is reportedly due to the departure of veteran coach and producer Ace Steel, who was originally slated to be in charge of the facility. The report states that at one point, the plans for the training center were progressing with Ace Steel set to lead the project.

However, following his eventual departure from the company, those plans were shelved and have not been revisited in a significant way. Currently, AEW does not have an official training center for its talent. Instead, the company utilizes a warehouse that is equipped with a ring, which some wrestlers use for in-ring training and practice sessions.

Top stars, including the current AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone, have posted videos from this facility in the past. For now, it appears AEW will continue with this less formal approach to talent development, and the report also notes that the company is not currently using its sister promotion, Ring of Honor, as a traditional developmental brand.

The Hardys defeated Bully Ray and D-Von Dudley in a brutal Tables Match to retain both the TNA and NXT World Tag Team Championships, bringing an end to their 27-year rivalry.

Speaking in a post-show interview, Matt Hardy discussed his confidence going into the match, but also his genuine shock at what transpired after the bell.

“I knew we were going to go to war with Team 3D, I was confident we would beat Team 3D. We’ve been on an absolute regular grind, we’re doing well for ourselves, especially at our age. We’re both very healthy, very physically fit. Those guys haven’t done this in a while, so I thought we would be able to pull off the win tonight and get that W, establish ourselves as the greater of the two teams. They came out looking for a knockout, no doubt, 3Ds right off the jump, right out of the gate. But what I was shocked about was that when the match ended, they took off their boots. They called it a career, I did not expect that. And they gave us their boots, which was the ultimate sign of respect.”

Hardy also reflected on what has been one of the most successful and decorated weeks of his entire career, in which The Hardy Boyz captured three different sets of tag team championships.

“What a week. We became the NXT Tag Team Champions, we became House Of Glory Tag Team Champions, and then we went on to retire Team 3D, the Dudley Boyz, our biggest nemesis over the last quarter of a century. If you don’t think we’re the best in the game right now, I don’t know what you’re thinking. I have four words for everyone, the GOATs are here.”

  • The Rock Confirms Having ‘Influence’ On Booking Of John Cena’s Final WWE Match

Dwayne \”The Rock\” Johnson has provided some insight into the decision-making process for John Cena\’s final match, stating that the ultimate choice of opponent rests in the hands of Cena himself. The Rock, who sits on the Board of Directors for WWE\’s parent company, TKO Group Holdings, acknowledged that he has some influence on the booking but made it clear that after a 20-plus year career, Cena has earned the right to decide who he will face in his retirement match. The historic final bout is scheduled for a special Saturday Night\’s Main Event on December 13 in Washington D.C.

Appearing on the \”New Heights\” podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, The Rock was asked who Cena\’s final opponent could be.

“I have a tiny bit of influence in the booking of it. But really it’s just, it’s whoever John wants. Really, that’s what it comes down to. Whoever he wants. It’s not me or Nick Khan or Triple H. It’s just, it’s whoever John wants. That guy has earned it. And you know what? The best part about John is he comes as advertised. So who you think he is, that’s who he is. And he’s a good dude. And I love that guy. No, he’s a good dude, man. And kind. He’s really cool.”

While an opponent has not yet been officially announced by WWE, it is widely expected that Cena will face \”The Ring General,\” GUNTHER. A recent report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that GUNTHER is the currently planned opponent, and that an on-screen tournament may be held to determine the challenger, with GUNTHER slated to win.
